Knights Who Won My Heart (Knights Series Book 4) by Sonya Jesus – Review by Jana Teppih

Knights Who Won My Heart (Knights, #4)Knights Who Won My Heart by Sonya Jesus
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Knights Who Won My Heart is the fourth book and the closing act of Sonya Jesus’ Knights series! We are going out with a bang! I promise you will be sitting at the edge of your seat and biting your nails when following Lia and co to the end. You cannot read this book as a standalone, clearly you would be completely lost so do yourself a favour and start from the beginning and I guarantee you will enjoy hours upon hours some good storytelling!
You would think that as we are now at the fourth and final book that maybe the writer would be using it as to conclude on the story but heck no! It is filled with mystery, danger, angst, violence, obsession, romance and … twists so hold your horses and go chapter by chapter!
I have heard rumours that the writer is working on a spinoff series called “The Soccer Gods” and considering how she finished this series, it has earned a spot on my TBR list!

Next Door Knight (Man's Best Friend #2)Next Door Knight by Nicole Flockton
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I enjoyed this book and found it to be creative, engaging and a page turner. This is a story about two people, Caleb and Kerry, who are trying to start a new life, both have pasts and in need of healing. Did I mention there is a cute, adorable dog who has brought these two together? I enjoyed the characters even with the walls they built up around themselves. They are strong and I felt compassion for them. I highly recommend reading this book to find out what happens with them.

Turning the Tide (Eastern Shore Swingers Book 5) by Phoebe Alexander – Review by Michelle Austin

Turning the Tide (Eastern Shore Swingers Book 5)Turning the Tide by Phoebe Alexander
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Turning the Tides was a great 5 star read and book five in the Eastern Shore Swingers series.
Phoebe Alexander has once again pulled me right in with her writing, I was an emotional mess by the time I was done.

Luke is in a marriage that has no emotional or physical connection other than the abuse from his wife Barbara (who I despised very much). When his friend invites him to The Factory, a swingers club he meets Connie. There is something about her that draws him in, it’s been a long time that he has felt anything like what she brings out in him.

Connie has moved to Ocean City to be near her sister. When she meets Luke at the club there is something about him that gets her attention. Fate brings them together again when Luke meets the new nurse at his practice. Where will they go from here? Can Connie help Luke forget all his problems?

Overall I really enjoyed this book, Connie and Luke were great for each other. We get all sorts of great scenes with these two. The secondary characters were great, some I liked some I hated. This can be read as a stand alone, however I suggest reading all the books so you can connect with all the characters. I highly recommend this series. I look forward to reading more from Phoebe Alexander.

By: K.G. Fletcher
5 out of 5 stars

The story Run to the Sea (Reigning Hearts Book 1) by K.G. Fletcher is a contemporary romance book. It is a story that I absolutely loved reading. It is romantic and had my emotions going up and down. It has a wonderful storyline that pulls you in from the very beginning and doesn’t let go until the final page. I loved reading about the characters of Thomas Capshaw and Emeline Fischer. Thomas is a man that is feeling guilt and remorse. He finds himself back on the sandy shores of Florida where he spent his childhood. While his inheritance has brought him back to town, he finds himself unprepared when he meets Emeline again. Emeline is a woman who is talented, beautiful, and trying to make ends meet. She is surprised when she finds Thomas at the restaurant where she is working. These two were best friends when growing up. These two find themselves looking at their past through a box of photos. What else will they find? What is in store for Emeline and Thomas? Read this book to find out. Emeline and Thomas are characters that I grew to care about with each chapter that I read. You can’t help but hope that they find happiness. This book has heartbreaking and heartwarming moments. This is a beautiful story which touches your heart and soul. I highly recommend reading it.

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This is the second book in this series, I enjoyed it just as much as the first. I enjoy how this author is able to pull me in right from the beginning and keep me engaged until the end. This is Lauren and Rafferty’s story and an emotional one at times. They have history with each other and heartbreak. Will fate allow them to have a second chance? They are true to life, lovable and have great chemistry. They made me feel as if I was part of their story. I highly recommend this book.

The story Next Door Knight (Man’s Best Friend Book 2) by Nicole Flockton is a wonderful book that I loved reading. It is a story that pulls you in from the very beginning and doesn’t let go until the ending page. It had my emotions going up and down the entire time I was reading. I loved reading about the characters of Kerry Williams and Caleb Bradshaw. Kerry is a young woman who is determined to be independent and in control of her life. She is caring and supportive to those around her. Her life is full right now with volunteering with her therapy dog Willow at the Veteran’s Center, her job, and helping out her injured father. She is someone who guards her heart and doesn’t always trust easily. She then meets Caleb. Caleb is a man who feels guilt and grief. He has experienced loss and still feels the pain. Then he meets Kerry. Kerry can’t seem to walk away from Caleb. Will Caleb allow Kerry and Willow to help him? What does the future hold for Caleb and Kerry? Read this book to find out. I love when an author adds in an animal such as in this story. Reading about Willow warms your heart and had me smiling and laughing. Willow is such an endearing character. I also grew to care about Kerry and Caleb as the story progressed. Their characters are likeable and I found myself wanting them to find happiness. This story has moments that are sad and others that are heartwarming. Don’t miss out on an amazing story with wonderful characters. Highly recommended.

I loved this book. It is a second chance romance story that took me on an emotional ride that I didn’t put down until the last page. Thomas and Emeline grew up together and were best friends. Will their relationship grow into something more than friendship? I loved these characters, they are engaging, lovable and made me feel as if I was right there in the story with them. They both need to find something to believe in and fate may just have something in mind. Their story is a must read!

Misfortune of Song(Druids Brooch Series book 5) by Christy Nicholas
4 Stars!!!!

Taking another trip into the realm of the fae and 12th century Ireland and the drama that unfolds. As before I have been reading this series out of order but it hasn’t caused any difficulty in keeping up or understanding. The author has a unique style that has you feeling that you are right there in the midst of the story alongside the characters.

The author is able to bring in twists to the story along with the drama. As Orlagh rebels against her
grandfather I could really relate to her character. The way the author had it that Maelan has to bargain with the Fae really brought a new dimension to the story. The Fae once again bring a unique twist to the story. This book was very hard to put down. I was eager to see how the drama would unfold around Orlagh as a descendant of the brooch. I really like the magical twist to these books. I really cannot wait to read more from this author and the series.

I have to say that I was so anxious for this book having read the rest of the series. I definitely was not disappointed. The author has such a refreshing writing style and the characters just come to life. I found I couldn’t put the book down.

The amount of suspense and drama is just the right balance. Picking up from the cliff hanger ending of the last book this one gets the story moving. I was really entranced by the way the author created the delusional and stalker character of Hawk. The way that the author twists the story and all the drama around Lia and Robins is very addictive. I was at the edge of my seat as the story started to unfold. The way in which the author writes his character just sends chills up your spine and I for one was very hooked. I was glad to take a step out of my comfort genre to read this book and I will definitely be reading more from this author in the future.

His First Lady by Avery Scott – Review by Heidi Eich Woodring

His First LadyHis First Lady by Avery Scott
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

His First Lady by Avery Scott, is an amazing read that shows even when something is supposed to stay fake, chemistry and passion can draw two together and not be anything near fake. Michael is a senior congressman and Presidential hopeful who has already been divorced twice and has a reputation of a ladies man. Many of his campaign people think that this could be damning to him and they decide that having a “first lady” will help him in many ways. That is where his new speech writer, Kendall comes in. Add in chemistry and a touch of drama and see what happens when things aren’t as fake as what they both think it is.
Avery Scott gave us a well written story with amazing characters. Me as a reader loves stories like this and it did not disappoint. I love that Avery gave us a story that pushes her characters to the wall and out of their confront zones. I give this book 4 stars and would love to read more from this author in the futures.

Lights, Camera, Action (Paranormal Talent Agency Book 1) by Heather Silvio
4 Stars

This was a fun book to read. Not only is the entertainment business crazy but throw in some supernatural beings and things get out of hand. Catherine Rodham moves to Las Vegas to open the West Coast branch of the Peterson Talent Agency. Unbeknownst to her, the town is full of supernatural creatures. She also fits the profile of the victims of a serial killer that’s running around. Catherine has her hands full opening her business, dealing with bizarre characters and trying to stay alive.

I enjoyed the aspect of lesser known creatures being in the story. Not the usual vampire/werewolf, though I’m sure they will show up later. With some romance, intrigue and action, this becomes an entertaining read. The concept of a talent agency hiring supernatural beings is original and I look forward to reading the rest of the series.

Home Is Where the Heart Is (The Wilder Sister Series Books 1-5) by Melissa Keir – Review by Kerry Baker

Home is Where the Heart is: The Wilder SistersHome is Where the Heart is: The Wilder Sisters by Melissa Keir
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Home is Where the Heart is: The Wilder Sisters by Melissa Keir is a series about 5 sisters and their journey to find love. Each sister has their own novella length story and each story is warm and lighthearted.
I really enjoyed that all five of these books had their own distinctive stories and yet they all had the same feel about them. For me it helped lend to the fact that it was sisters I was reading about.
This is the type of book that is perfect for rainy afternoon. You can get yourself lost in the stories, in the romance and sweetness. You don’t have to think too hard about the books you simply find yourself immersed in them.
This isn’t my first read by this author and it certainly won’t be the last.

A Wicked Earl’s Widow (Once Upon A Widow Book 2) by Aubrey Wynne – Review by Francis O’Sullivan

The Wicked Earl's WidowThe Wicked Earl’s Widow by Aubrey Wynne
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

A Wicked Earl’s Widow by Aubrey Wynne is the second book in her Once Upon a Widow series. It follows Eliza, the widow of the Earl of Sunderland. Since her husband’s death, she has been inundated with orders from her abusive father to remarry. She must decide what is best to do, for her own interests and those of her daughter Althea who she wishes to protect from her father and potential husband.
It’s an exciting story, as we are constantly concerned for Eliza and Althea’s safety. We see Eliza battling with the consequences of a lifetime of cruel treatment, and it is in a moment of unrestrained anger that she first encounters Nate. The positive relationship they have – his protectiveness and caring – is wonderful to read.
Although part of a series, this book works fine as a stand-alone. A vibrant regency romance, it pays homage to Gothic tropes but very much has the feel of a modern historical novel. Althea, for example, is a very vocal child and frequently caught up in the story’s action.
For me, this is a four star read. I’d recommend it to fans of historical romance who like stories with a bit of action and suspense.

A Person Could Disappear Here by Terri George has written an awesome thriller. From the first page to the last page I was stuck like glue to my kindle. This is the first book by Terri George and it will not be my last one. Her characters are well defined and complicated. I felt a connection to the characters throughout the book. The plot was intriguing. It was a emotional roller coaster ride that frighten me because it is so believable. I know I was screaming out loud as I was reading and my husband was a little concerned but I kept on reading. Out of respect for the author’s request, I am not going to spoil any part of the story. You will have to read it for yourself. I recommend read it while it is still light out. Terri George I cannot wait to read your next book.

Taming the Troublemaker (Hills of Texas, #3)Taming the Troublemaker by Kadie Scott
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This is the second book that I have read and enjoyed by this author. I find that I am completely captivated by the characters and the storyline. It was a really light-hearted and entertaining read; I really love the simple romance of the story. I love the hot and heavy romance type but I equally enjoy a nice, sweet romance also and Taming the Troublemaker was a wonderful example of just that.
I think I fell in love with Autry straight away; he did seem such a nice, kind and genuine person. Beth was a sweet character and I loved her from the beginning. I just loved the interaction between the two of them, it was fun, it was sweet and I was definitely rooting for them the whole way through.
Although part of a series this book could definitely be read as a standalone and it is one that I would highly recommend! I am looking forward to reading more from this author again in the future.

5++++++ Stars

Good Lord this author has me so confused..Pretty sure this is my favorite of the series then I start thinking about the others and think, no maybe that one was, no im pretty sure its this one…The bottom line is this series simply ROCKS!!

I can’t put into words what it is that draws me to every book in this series, especially when the lifestyles that are portrayed throughout are just not something I understand or am I interested in. I think it’s the characters this author writes about, I get so emotionally invested in them and no matter what I fall in love and that is all due to the talent of this author.

This storyline was awesome, it tackled a type of abuse I have never read before, and also had never thought about but this felt so real as per normal when reading anything by this author. Luke is now one of my favorites in this series, my heart broke for him and I couldn’t help but just want to hug him!

I’m just not going into too much of the storyline, I went in blind as I do most of her books now because if it has her name on it, it’s just a given I’ll read it. Trust me when I say this was an awesome story and addition to this series and I also couldn’t help but jump for joy at having another character back at The Factory after being afraid she was not going to return, and thats all Im going to say about that LOL

Read these books, I promise no matter what genre you do or don’t read they are worth every minute spent, yes they could all be read as standalones I suppose but Im so so glad I didn’t do that, having all the history of all these names that keep popping up throughout each book makes it that much more awesome!

Loved it and hoping for much more from these people and this author 🙂

Knights Who Won My Heart (Knights #4) by Sonya Jesus

4 out of 4 stars

Knights Who Won My Heart is the fourth book in the Knights series written by Sonya Jesus and it’s the first book that I have read by this author. This book is a heartbreaking read that has heartwarming moments. The story was great but I was lost because I didn’t realize it was the fourth book in the series. The characters are great there crazy, funny and I think typical collage kids.

It seems that Amelia is surrounded by tragedy again. She is a young woman who is strong but heartbroken, hurt, and confused. With this last incident she not sure of her future or if she should leave Westbrook. She has faced some overwhelming circumstances and it looks like she it’s only begun.
We have this Hawk who is obsessed with Amelia and refers to her as his Queen. He has his own agenda and plans for Amelia and nothing is going to get in his way. He will manipulate everyone and the situation to get his queen.

Can and will his plan succeed? You will need to read this story/series. Now I have to go back and read the rest of the series to catch up.

Turning the Tide (Eastern Shore Swingers Book 5)Turning the Tide by Phoebe Alexander
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This story gives another view into marriage, BDSM and just being a decent person. (Some of my favorite things!)

Luke is a married man. His marriage, like every marriage, has had its ups and downs. But unlike every marriage, Luke’s wife is unstable and there seems to be more to their situation. Their marriage is in the toilet before we even get to met them, so what is really going on?

Connie, not Luke’s wife, is herself divorced and learning to have fun and to trust men. Her ex-husband hurt her emotionally so she’s not ready to fall in love.

When Luke and Connie are convinced, by different friends, to visit a swinger’s club called, The Factory, they learn many new things.

“We have a real mix of people, of ages, sizes, colors, politics, backgrounds. It’s like once we get naked, we strip all those differences away. Underneath we’re all just human.”

Wouldn’t it be nice if the whole world worked this way?

If you are looking for some hot and spicy sex scenes with consensual adults, then you should pick up this book. Alexander has written another great story in her Eastern Shore Swingers Series, in fact you should check them all out, starting with Book one, Fisher of Men.

CAPTIVATED BY THE MILLIONAIRE BY NINA SINGH – REVIEW BY MELISSA AGENA

Captivated By The Millionaire (Mills & Boon True Love)Captivated By The Millionaire by Nina Singh
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This is not your typical Harlequin novel. At least it wasn’t what I was expecting. Captivated by the Millionaire is written by Nina Singh. I was very surprised by this book and I loved every second of it. Jessalyn “Jess” has lived on Martha’s Vineyard for the last few years and has been very comfortable there being a part time art teacher. Jordan just moved the island with his sister, Sonya, whom he has just taken custody of because their father had recently passed. From the moment that these two have met there has been a spark but they each thought each other were enigmas. Not understanding each other since they both come from different circles and lives. Jess is a little bit bohemian and kind of goes with the flow. Jess also doesn’t come from money. Jordan comes from the city and comes from structure and has quite a bit of money. So on paper these two should not match one iota. Like I said, this book was great and it truly surprised me. I enjoyed this author and cannot wait to read more from her!

Thomas Capshaw never thought he’d put his dreams of being a sketch artist on the back burner and end up working in New York City far from home. The very last thing he expects is the inheritance of his famous grandfather’s beach cottage on the sandy shores of Florida where he spent his childhood summers.

Emeline Fischer is an aspiring artist trying to make ends meet, working an assortment of odd jobs while painting her dreams on canvas in hopes of landing her own gallery show someday. When she is Thomas’s waitress during her shift at the local beach diner, she immediately recognizes her sensitive childhood friend who promised long ago to protect her from her unstable home life when they were teens.

The two friends take a journey into their past through a box of photos left behind at Cap Cottage and rediscover their mutual passion for art – and each other. Thomas doesn’t plan to fall in love with Emmy – but maybe he’s always been in love with her. Can he forgive himself for his past mistakes and start over in the only place that ever felt like home? Or will his guilt and the demands of his cutthroat, big-city career prevent him from following his heart and reuniting with the only woman he ever truly loved?

Taming the Troublemaker (The Hills of Texas Book 3) By Kadie Scott – Review by Katie Kearney

Taming the Troublemaker (Hills of Texas, #3)Taming the Troublemaker by Kadie Scott
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Taming the Troublemaker (The Hills of Texas Book 3) By Kadie Scott. From the first page I knew I’d love the story of Autry and Beth each being a character I won’t soon forget. The chemistry they had jumped off the page and you could truly feel their connection on the pages. The author does a wonderful job of pulling readers in and making them forget its a book they are reading. This story can totally be read as a stand-alone without any confusion but please read the others simply because they are just as good. It’s well written and paced nicely never feeling rushed or lacking anything. I’m giving this story a five star review and highly recommend it to everyone.

Me and Cinderella (The Dirty Rooster Book 2) By Kelly Mooney. I loved this story. The characters had such a connection that I couldn’t help but feel like I was living the story instead of just reading it. It’s quite the emotional journey you are taken on with this authors words. This story can definitely be read as a stand-alone without any confusion but do yourself a favor and read the other one just because you’ll enjoy it also. This story had me completely hooked from page one. It’s well written and paced nicely with characters that pull you in completely. I’m giving this story five star review and highly recommend it.

Four Stars

Yes, I too would be Captivated by a millionaire lol. This was a really good short story. I didn’t feel like the author was rushing the characters to get to the point. The characters had a unique chemistry that went well together. Once old insecurities and hurts moved out the way. I really liked how different they were from each other. The author did really well in the pacing of this story. It flowed together and created an effortless romance. I really like Jess she reminds me of my best friend. She has such a carefree soul. The joy she brought by just being was beautiful. I believe she gave Jordan something he was missing from life.

Nothing says trust me like a guy that some what staked you through a rifle scope lol. This story was funny and a little weird. Hawk was what made it weird and the beginning was funny. I liked the characters and how the author setup the dynamics between Hawk and his team. Stella was okay I didn’t agree with how she kept enabling her brother. Family is everything but at some point you have to step back and say enough. The story was suspenseful and entertaining and the series so far has kept my attention. The author has a really great writing style and this story complements that.
