The Sound of Love (The Sound Series Book 1) by Maria Watts – Review by Heather Bahm

The Sound of Love (The Sound series #1)The Sound of Love by Maria Watts
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

The first book in the Sound series, The Sound of Love, by Maria Watts is more than just a teenage romance. It is loaded with a roller coaster of events that make life anything but simple. Maria Watts exhibits powerful writing talent within the few several chapters. She has created characters that are in the midst of emerging and working to find themselves. The story starts innocently and from there the story begins to build upon itself making thing more in depth and not necessarily straight forward
I wasn’t ready for this story to end, wanting more and to know what was coming on the horison. Maria Watts has created a series/book worthy of reading not only for the journey, but the emotional tie that will come with it

Neverland by Melissa Jane – Review by Erica Fish

NeverlandNeverland by Melissa Jane
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

“Dear Readers,
While NEVERLAND contains some romance, it is also a tale of twisted obsession. It certainly is NOT a hearts and flowers type story, and WILL contain triggers for some readers as it deals with particularly confronting situations. I ask that you take this into consideration before you dive in. This cruel, yet touching narrative, with its mix of adoring and sinister characters who exist in its broken world, was at times extremely difficult for me to write, and as each scene unfolds, I expect it will be equally as difficult for ‘some’ to read and accept.
I do, however, thank you for reading NEVERLAND!” by Melissa Jane

Neverland by Melissa Jane is a hard to read book, BUT it is well worth the read. I was torn to read this book or just pass it by and find a different story. I enjoyed this book and glad I did not pass it. Melissa Jane did an amazing job with her characters. They were fully developed and so easy to understand what they were going through. This is a dark romance thriller book. This book needs attention so I recommend sitting down somewhere you can totally focus on what you are reading. The story does go back to the past and to the present. This took me a couple of extra reads just because I wanted to make sure that I did not miss anything. I cannot wait to see what else Melissa Jane has written.

Neverland by Melissa Jane – Review by Kerry Baker

NeverlandNeverland by Melissa Jane
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Neverland by Melissa Jane is a twisted yet intriguing story and one that will have you hooked.
I had no idea what to expect going into this story. It was a relatively new author for me, having only read one of her books previously, and the blurb was great at piquing my interest without really giving anything away. And the emotional impact this book gives you makes it all entirely worth it. I was on the edge of my seat throughout most of this book, heart in my throat. I finished this book in one sitting because I just had to keep reading and find out what would happen next.
This book easily had tears running down my face and yet I still couldn’t turn away. I liked how, although there is a romance story within this book, it isn’t the primary focus as such. I liked that the book had so much more about it. I also liked that this author wasn’t scared to step over that line. If you are going to write a book as dark and depraves as this then there is nothing more frustrating as a reader when the author stops short of achieving the full goal. However Melissa Jane not only passed that line but she did so successfully and tastefully. It was written so well. This is definitely one of my favourites of the year so far and I am excited to have found a new author.

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Fisher of Men (Eastern Shore Swingers #1) by Phoebe Alexander. This is the first book of this type I’ve read. I enjoyed it even though it was out of my comfort zone. It’s the story of Leah Miller a good Christian girl brought up in a very religious home. She has worked really hard and become the Assistant General Manager of The Pearl one of Ocean City’s nicest Hotels. During a party at The Pearl Leah meets Chris “Cap” Sheldon a Charter Fishing Captain and sparks instantly fly. Cap is very free sexually and Leah is not. Can the two come together, can Leah become more adventurous or can Cap settle down for Leah. Leah’s faith is so strong can she reconcile with this lifestyle or will Cap give it up because he’s fallen for Leah. This was a very sweet, sexy story.

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Moments That Define Us (A Gray Ghost Prequel) by Amy McKinley. I’ve read all the Gray Ghost books and I love them. This one was no different. I loved reading about how they came together in the beginning. This is the story of Jack & Jenni, Jack is living in an abandoned building with his “crew”. Jack is trying to protect his neighborhood from Jenni’s brother Rex, the local drug dealer, and keep his friends from falling into Rex’s evil ways. Rex already hates Jack because he is dating his sister. When weapons are brought into the fight it could be the end of them all. These kids have all had a rough upbringing and it was really cool to see where they came from. I love this series and hope there are more.

Blind Magic: The Sanctuary Chronicles by India Kells – Review by Erica Fish

Blind Magic (The Sanctuary Chronicles #2)Blind Magic by India Kells
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Blind Magic: The Sanctuary Chronicles by India Kells is a paranormal romance story. India Kells has an interesting story-telling ability that really grabs you in the first couple of paragraphs. There is safety for the reader because you are in your home but for the characters they have to find their safety within their world. There is action, mystery, and magic within the world. Sera Dover is a strong female who keeps learning by reading books. She feels the need to protect others to the point where she will put herself is danger. Ian will go and protect Sera to his death if he has too. You can see where these two have chemistry. They often have situations where they cannot seem to get anything done because of the quarrels. So if they can keep level headed and try not to outdo one another. I love this couple and I have a feeling you will too. I cannot wait to see more in this series.

Georgia Pine (Southern Promises book 3) by K.G. Fletcher – Review by Laura Leyman

Georgia Pine (Southern Promises #3)Georgia Pine by K.G. Fletcher
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This book was awesome to read. Although, my dad is a gardener for people like Jessica, so there were parts that made me cringe, but it did not make me love this book any less.

I had been waiting to read this since I finished the second book in the series! The blurb had me hooked and the wait did not disappoint. There were twists and turns and things to overcome, similarly to the other books in the series, but this felt different. A good different though because the other books I could guess what was going to happen, this one took me by surprise.

I found this book very heartwarming. Jessica was such a loving character. She has to be my favourite character out of this whole series. She has had to come to terms with a divorce that she never pictured to happen. Which obviously is a difficult thing to do but when you have 4 children, then it makes it harder. Tim was awesome I loved him so much! His journey throughout this book was very interesting to read.

I honestly could not rate this book high enough. It was so amazing and such a good conclusion (for now?) to this wonderful series.

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Neverland, by Melissa Jane, is a dark psychological suspense/thriller novel. This author never fails to deliver a memorable or climatic novel. In Neverland, beware of what lies ahead as this story will cut wide open and leave you wide open, you won’t expect it! This book was beyond what I anticipated when I read the synopsis. I found the characters well written, full of depth and insanely off the charts in regards to the psychological edge that is there. This author has talent in weaving an dark and crazy cast of characters along with unexpected results. This story was addictive and I could not put it down! A must read!

Marks of the Mazza (Mazza Series Book 1) by Blake Blessing – Review by Heather Bahm

Marks of the MazzaMarks of the Mazza by Blake Blessing
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Marks of the Mazza, by Blake Blessing, is the first book in the Mazza series. This is a reverse harem story intermixed with a paranormal theme. The author captured my attention with this unique story telling. One woman, four men, danger, suspense/mystery, longing, distress overlap throughout this story. There is not one slow minute in Marks of the Mazza. Blake Blessing did an outstanding job of delivering within the first chapters, igniting character interest and the start of story as the character(s) will embark on more than they anticipated. I am not usually one for harem themed stories, but Blake Blessing did this in a way that it just a small piece of the story and not the main focal point. I felt this was a tastefully done story and am anxiously awaiting the next book of this series.

Blind Magic (The Sanctuary Chronicles #2) by India Kells – Review by Liz Vrchota

Blind Magic (The Sanctuary Chronicles #2)Blind Magic by India Kells
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Blind Magic is the second book in The Sanctuary Chronicles from India Kells. I have not had the pleasure of reading the first book, Broken Magic, although now I will be running to do so. It didn’t really affect my ability to enjoy this one though. Kells was a doll and gave us a pretty detailed prologue to catch us up for this one thankfully. This was just that amazing that I have to get my hands on the first as well. I normally don’t pick up books that fall into this ‘category’ but let’s be honest, look at that cover! Yummy, and eye catching. I had to know what was behind it. I am so glad I dived in blind.

In Blind Magic we get quite the story. I must say there was not a single moment that I was bored, and actually several hours that I was the do not approach the reading mom/wife or you may die type. Can you really describe a dark and twisty suspenseful book as beautiful and magical? I think this book qualifies for that, and really can’t come up with a better way to sum it up.

Sera Dover is one heck of a woman. Strong, independent and resourceful, oh and she is one heck of a witch. She will stop at nothing to protect those that she loves and cares about. She will face whatever danger comes her way too. Then there is Ian Macon, the damaged and gorgeous werewolf. He is instantly drawn to Sera. Her light and peace is something his shattered soul seeks out. These two have a connection that will set your kindle screens on fire, and give you a need for a tall glass of water, maybe even a fan or two, if you get my drift.

Of course, there is always danger lurking around the corner in all the great suspenseful novels. What is to come for them now and in the future? For that you must dive into this amazing five-star read for yourself, for I cannot bear to give away any more than I already have! Happy reading!

Hidden (Ash Park Series Book #4) by Meghan O’Flynn – Review by Angela Hayes

Hidden (Ash Park, #4)Hidden by Meghan O’Flynn
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Hidden is the fourth book in the gripping Ash Park Series by Meghan O’Flynn. This story has just taken this series to a whole new level of intensity. I am so impressed with Ms. O’Flynn’s ability to spin an intense thriller- her stories just get better and better as the series evolves. The amount of tension, suspense, and clever twists that she is able to instill into her story makes for excellent and mind-blowing reading. I picked up this book as soon as I had finished book #3 and didn’t come up for air until I had read every word. I was glued to the pages from beginning to end and absolutely loved every mind twisting minute.
This book could be read as a standalone, if you wanted to, but there is a recurring cast of characters and snippets of backstory and other information that pops up in this book- so reading all the books would give you a much bigger picture and provide a greater perspective- which will give you an even better reading experience. All the books are fantastic, intriguing and suspenseful, so you really have nothing to lose!
Detective Petrosky has been a favourite character of mine throughout the series so far, and knowing a little of what he’d been through made him so much more realistic and relatable. I felt for him and hoped he’d find some peace and resolution from the heart crushing event that haunted him. All through this series I’ve wanted to delve into his story a little more, and in this book, I got way more than I bargained for. I wanted to run, look away, hide my kindle and not read any further at times because it was quite dark and harrowing – but at the same time the gripping nature of the story, and the superb characters had me needing to know what happens- and so I read on, my eyes glued to every word. There were shocks, surprising developments and some clever scene setting by Ms. O’Flynn, that really amped up the intrigue, shock and awe. This investigation had Petrosky risking everything with this ‘latest’ case. All I could do was hang on to the edge of my seat as I was swept along for the ride.
I finished reading this book A while ago now, and I keep thinking about it still. I am wondering what the next book has in store for me?
Brilliant!

Thank you, Ms. O’Flynn!!!

Hidden by Meghan O’Flynn is the fourth book in the Ash Park series. This series needs to be read in the order of the books in order to get the full effect of the ongoing story. This book took some loops and turns that had me on the edge of my seat. There were definitely some surprises with the characters but do make sense as the story progresses.
This is a great book for someone who likes gritty, dark, scary, gory books. The story is dark and deadly but is well worth the read.

Georgia Pine (Southern Promises Series Book #3) by K.G Fletcher – Review by Angela Hayes

Georgia Pine (Southern Promises #3)Georgia Pine by K.G. Fletcher
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Georgia Pine is the third (and Final) book in the Southern Promises Series by K.G Fletcher. I adore this series and can’t believe that it is finished! I really hope I am wrong because I am not ready to say goodbye to these fabulous characters and the wonderful stories that Ms. Fletcher has created. Each book slightly eclipses the last, making this a very memorable series. I didn’t think it would be possible for me to love a story or the characters more than I loved the last book, Georgia On My Mind (Hart and Gia’s story)- but once again Ms. Fletcher proved me wrong and had me falling in love with the story and the characters before I’d even got one chapter in- when she had me in tears before I had even gotten to the end of the first chapter, I knew I was in for an absolutely captivating story- and she certainly delivered everything I had hoped for, and more!
This book could be read as a standalone, but I can’t recommend the other books highly enough- they really are worth the read and help set the tone and feel for the series as a whole. We met Jessica in the previous book and my heart had ached for what she experienced- so I really wanted her to find true happiness in this book and I was intrigued to see what Ms. Fletcher had in store for her.
In this book we find Jessica a year on from the life changing events of the previous instalment. She’s newly divorced, still reeling, and quite lost. She’s had no time to really grieve for the end of her marriage as she has four adorable little girls who need her now more than ever. But she’s been struggling since her world fell apart and she’s not sure how to stitch it back together again and get everything back on track. She feels like she has failed her daughters and herself, as all her life she’d been expected to be perfect, her parents settling for nothing less from their beautiful daughter. She’d been the perfect daughter, the perfect cheerleader, the prefect sorority girl, the perfect friend, then the perfect wife and mother- but that was before her perfect world crumbled out from under her leaving her overwhelmed by disappointment and uncertainty- responsibility and expectation weighed heavily on her shoulders. Feeling extremely vulnerable and out of her depth, she gave in to her emotions, and was completely shocked when a tender giant came to her rescue. He brings some much-needed confidence and balance back into her life, and her world becomes brighter with him in it.
Tim McHill has had a huge fall from grace and has retreated across the country to live a simple life, keeping a low profile. He lives in the shadow of his former life expecting that his past will catch up with him eventually. He has no intention of letting anyone in, he’s purposely shut everyone out. But seeing this beautiful, broken young mother falling to pieces tugs at his battered heartstrings and brings out his caring and protective nature. He finds himself drawn into her life, bonding with her cute daughters in the process. All of a sudden, his life has new meaning and he looks forward to the future. But what happens when his secret is discovered? When mother nature throws a dangerous curve-ball, will they find a way through the storm, or will it destroy any chance of a future? What happens when his true identity is revealed for the world to see? All this and more can be discovered between the covers of this delightful book!
The story is soooo romantic- very touching, heart-warming, emotional, funny, suspenseful, heart-stopping, sweet, adorable, passionate, and fun. Like the other two books in the series, this is really well written, and the characters are so endearing, I became hooked right from the beginning. It was so easy to read that I zipped through it in a few hours. These complex characters had me so emotionally invested in them and their wonderful story- they really had a beautiful connection and incredibly sizzling chemistry- their story is full of sexy, steamy and swoon worthy details that really sizzled off the pages. Then there were the adorable girls who added an extra element of adorableness to the whole story. I loved how Tim connected with them right away and how wonderful he was with them- it made my heart go pitter-pat!! But there was also a bit of a mystery to the story, with Tim’s past- and some danger, suspense and a little drama were added, which took this story to a whole new exciting level!
This is such a brilliant addition to the series, and most definitely my pick of the three. I really hope we get to see more of these characters in the future- I would love to read Stuart’s story, and Jacques and Elizabeth’s story also. Hint, Hint- Ms. Fletcher!!
TOUCHDOWN!!!

Thank you, Ms. Fletcher!

Blind Magic by India Kells a five-star read that will thrill you. This is the second book in the Sanctuary Chronicles and it could be read as stand-alone, but I would recommend the series as each book is better than the last and I can’t wait for book three, as this series has it all, beautifully written story with compelling characters, drama mystery and enough romance to blow your socks off. Sera and Ian are well written characters and their story will make you fall in love. One of my favourite things about this one was the way there are multiple little stories running through the main one and they all play a role overall its very well done and makes a compelling read.

The Boss Man: A Steamy Contemporary Romantic Suspense Novel (The Manly Series Book 4)The Boss Man: A Steamy Contemporary Romantic Suspense Novel by Teddy Hester
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

The Boss Man is the 4th book in The Manly Series by Teddy Hester. This novel is described by the author as a contemporary romantic suspense novel. This series of books are standalones and can be read in any order. I had not previously read any of this authors work and I have to say that I thoroughly enjoyed this book.
Our 2 main characters Jack DePaul and Jillian Vickers are fantastic characters that really draw you in to their story. Jillian feels smothered by her father and 2 brothers and is determined to prove to them that she is a smart independent woman who doesn’t need them meddling in everything she does.
Jack DePaul owns his own construction company and has been drafted in to get a huge project delivered on time. Jillian wants to write an article about his company and the work they are doing. Jack makes her become part of his crew to get her story.
The chemistry between them is sizzling and they both try their hardest to keep things professional. Jack needs to concentrate on the job and doesn’t need the distraction of a woman preventing him from getting the job done on time. Once they give in to the attraction between them, nothing runs smoothly. There are so many obstacles in their way, most notably Felix who works for the company that Jack is doing the work for. He also happens to be a close friend of her brothers and doesn’t think Jack is good enough for her.
It’s a fascinating read and the plot will keep you gripped right up to the very end. If this story is anything to go by then I’d really like to read more of this author’s work.

Self Love: A British Tale of Woe and Wit by TL Clark

4 Stars

This was my first read by this author and I truly enjoyed it although a lot of parts were hard to read, and this is simply because so many thoughts Molly had were thoughts I’ve had through the years before I made some changes and went on my own type of journey. Remembering a lot of those feelings was fun while I was reading along but I sure could relate to almost everything in this story.

It took me a bit to actually fall in love with Molly, there were just a few too many SMH moments but that changed as it all got going and then i was hooked. I loved her best friend Wendy, she was simply awesome and always there for her.

I’m definitely going to be checking out more by this author..I did really love the writing style and how smoothly it was written and it was very easy to read and get lost in.

I highly recommend this story and this author.

Blind Magic (The Sanctuary Chronicles #2)Blind Magic by India Kells
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I give Blind Magic: The Sanctuary Chronicles by India Kells, 5 stars.

Sera is a witch who has been losing her vision for a long time. Now she is blind. She has always spent her life in books, learning as much as she can about the magical world. She has been alone for so long, it is all she knows. Then Ian comes into her life and she cannot stop thinking about him. Werewolves and witches cannot be together, it is doomed to fail. But he keeps inserting himself in her life. Can she stay away?

Ian cannot stop thinking about Sera, from the moment he first literally ran into her. Now it turns out she is in danger, someone is hunting her down. He feels like he must protect her. But what about love? He already lost his mate tragically. But she soothes his soul.

This is an excellent paranormal romance/suspense book. There is so much going on, but it is hard to put it down without giving anything away. I can so though that there is not one minute that you will be bored. It is unlike any book I have ever read before. There are many twists and turns, and characters appearing, you will never be able to guess what it to happen next. Ian and Sera are great main characters too. They are very realistic, with emotions and feelings that most people have experienced. I hope we will see more of these wonderful characters in the future.

I highly recommend this book to all lovers of supernatural romance, urban fantasy and those whole like something engrossing and different.

Neverland by Melissa Jane is one of those books that you just sit there after finishing it you just sit there and say oh wow or something else more explicit.

This book was incredibly tragic, but always had a silver lining hidden in the back or at least it seemed that way to me.

There were so many things I loved about this book but they are so integral to the story and could give things away I can’t and won’t explain so I don’t risk giving anything away.

There aren’t too many books that have effected me the way this one has or I would say are a must read but this is one you must read.

The Boss Man: A Steamy Contemporary Romantic Suspense Novel (The Manly Series Book 4)The Boss Man: A Steamy Contemporary Romantic Suspense Novel by Teddy Hester
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

The Boss Man by Teddy Hester is the fourth book in the Manly Series. Though part of a series it can be read as a standalone which was a good thing for me since I had not heard of this series until this book. I do however intend to go back to meet the other DePaul boys.

Jack is the baby of the family and seems to have the most to prove. Not sure if that is a youngest child trait or not since I’m the oldest. It was apparent from the get go that he needed to show the world, especially his family he can do this.

Jillian had my sympathy, the only girl being raised by her dad and two older brothers couldn’t have been easy for her, but she fights to become an independent strong woman who knows what she wants.

I loved their story. I do wish more loose ends were tied up for me. I’m just nosy like that.

Definitely give this book a try.

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Blind Magic is the second book in The Sanctuary Chronicles. This book can be read as a standalone. I loved this story. The only thing I would like to have wrapped up is what happened to Hunter and Patricia???? Outside of those two loose ends, it was excellent. Even though this book is about Ian and Sera, I’m really ready for the next book because I liked Finn’s character and I want to see how his story continues. This book has a little of everything…action, sadness, drama, mystery, and of course, romance.
Stellar read!
(Also know that if you really bond with the characters, you might tear up a little toward the end).

I also bawled my eyes out at one point that I so did not see coming. On a fateful, stormy night, a ghost from the past revealed himself under the glow of a street lamp. A ghost whose smile was as cold and dangerous as his heart.

He remembered her well.
She was the one everyone talked about. The poor girl down the street born into a family of monsters. The one he’d obsessed over, taunted and harassed. The very same girl who’d one day suddenly disappeared.

Accepting his hand, he lifted her off the dirty, vile street and whispered a promise, “No good deed comes without payment,” and from that day on, she was destined to pay the ultimate price.

Seeing her for the first time since she’d vanished all those years ago, had only made him realize his obsession never truly ended. And now, with a promise to keep, he was going to make her disappear again… this time forever.

Dear Readers,
While NEVERLAND contains some romance, it is also a tale of twisted obsession.
I do, however, thank you for reading NEVERLAND!

Love,
Melissa Jane

An impossible choice.

Should he save the woman he loves but can never have, protect humanity, or avoid a prison sentence that would stretch for eternity?

Archer is a half breed, caught between two opposing heritages – the Jacks, a bloodthirsty race who kills for sport, and the Readers, a docile race trying to save humankind. Two years ago, he betrayed the Readers, though, in a last-minute change of heart, saved them from ultimate destruction. But now he’s all alone, wallowing in unrequited love.

Sadie is an Immortal Seer with a dangerous calling: she must hunt down and destroy the last of the vengeful Jacks. But her quirky humor and gentle spirit make her an unlikely fit for the job.

Archer is drawn to Sadie’s pure, kindhearted nature, rekindling hope he might not have to live a solitary life, but he has no idea the danger he’s in.

When fate forces the mortal enemies to work together, Sadie must determine which side Archer is on, how much of his charm is real, and if she should follow through with her directive: should she kill him or save him?

About MK Harkins

MK has always been a voracious reader. After hitting a dry spell of reading material, she decided to write the kind of book she’d like to read. This resulted in the creation of her debut novel, Intentional. The follow-up to The Reader, The Jack, released August 2018.

When she’s not writing novels, she likes to spend her free time traveling the world, splashing in mud puddles (She lives in Seattle, what can she say?), watching movies and reading (!) She LOVES to hear from her readers

HE’S BACK.

Detective Edward Petrosky has always felt the pain of the world like a razor blade in his gut, even more so when he considers the killers who have escaped conviction. But he can’t let that stop him, not after a grandmother is found murdered on her front lawn, the victim of some machete-wielding psycho.

The case is strange from the outset: no one heard a thing despite the public nature of the crime. An unknown child’s footprints cover the property without a trace of the kid. And a grisly discovery in the basement has the entire police force stunned. Nothing makes sense. Whatever secrets their victim had, she’d taken them, quietly, to her grave.

But when another woman’s corpse turns up with a familiar brand on her ribcage, Petrosky realizes the horrible truth: a killer he’d thought was long gone from Ash Park has remained, lurking in their midst. And who knows how many victims this butcher has collected? For those he’s kidnapped, any day might be their last, imprisoned, unseen, with only their screams and a deranged lunatic for company.

Now Petrosky must risk everything he holds sacred to track the most sadistic killer Ash Park has ever seen, a man whose thirst for carnage extends far beyond mere bloodletting. But saving innocent lives will require an unbearable sacrifice.

One from which he may never recover.

Hidden is the emotional fourth book in the hair-raising Ash Park series. If you like Blake Crouch, Dean Koontz, or Paula Hawkins, you’ll love Ash Park.

About Meghan O’Flynn

Meghan O’Flynn is a clinical therapist, writer, artist, wife, and mom. She adores her amazing little boys, dark chocolate, tea, dirty jokes, and back rubs with no strings attached, in that order. Meghan is the bestselling author of The Jilted, Shadow’s Keep, and the Ash Park series–which includes Famished, Conviction, Repressed, Hidden and Redemption–and has penned a number of short stories including “Crimson Snow” and “Alien Landscape.” She is frankly amazed that her wonderful husband still agrees to live with her after reading them and even more shocked that he seems to sleep soundly.

Transformations (The Shifter Series, #1) by Cari Schaeffer – Review by Sunday Barnaby

Transformations (The Shifter Series, #1)Transformations by Cari Schaeffer
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Transformations: The Shifter Series: Volume One by Cari Schaeffer
Four Stars

Transformations is the first book in the Shifter Series by Cari Schaefer. This is the first book I have read by Ms. Schaefer, but definitely won’t be the last. I can’t wait to see what she has in store for us in the next book in this series. I love the different take this author has on shifter’s, it makes this story unique. The book is slow in parts but nothing that would turn me off from reading the rest of the series. It is interesting to see, how the different family members change and the effects of the feud that started generations before. Katherine (Kat) is a really interesting character, and her family is quirky to say the least. This book is full of witty banter and had me laughing out loud, but it also had some serious parts also. Overall it was a very good read and I can’t wait to read what happens in Transgressions.

Summer Fling by Tarrah Anders- Review by Moriah Venable

Summer FlingSummer Fling by Tarrah Anders
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Summer Fling by Tarrah Anders is a stand-alone novel. This is my sixth novel by this author.

The novel opens in a hilarious way with Emma waking up next to guy after a drunken night. She quickly gets rid of him before her roommate sees him. Thought she promised herself she wouldn’t get involved with tourist after her last heartbreak, her feelings for this guy may make her think different.

Royce and his friend/ business partner Cyrus have gone to Sweeney in order to start a veterinarian clinlic with Cyrus having a bit of roots there. While not impressed with the town at first, he is impressed when he sees the girl again and finds out her name is Emma.

While reluctant at first, Emma agrees on a date which goes well. But when she found out he will be going back home for a few days, she wonders if he will ever come back.

Could a blossoming romance just be for the summer or will love blossom for more than just a season?

I love anything Tarrah Anders writes and this novel was no different. The chemistry between the characters was off the charts and felt so real it was like watching a movie in my head.

Royce cute and sweet gestures with Emma just made me love him all the more.

I can’t wait for another novel by this author.

Summer Fling by Tarrah Anders – Review by Jana Teppih

Summer FlingSummer Fling by Tarrah Anders
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Summer Fling is a short summer read by Tarrah Anders. It was full of love and laughter and excitement and a bit of mystery! What do you do when you live in a sleepy town that gets lively only when the tourist season hits? Who would go for if majority of ‘of interest’ are there only for a short of period time? Well, you take a decision that you will not date any out of towners/tourists and you will stick with your promise to yourself until the hell freezes over or so you think …
Summer Fling is the story of Emma and Royce – Emma is our hometown girl who has sworn off tourists and Royce is one of those damned and persistent tourists who decides to become a townie AND he is a vet so imagine all those pets! What should a poor girl do? And the chemistry and the heat between those two? Olalaa …. Can Ms Anders write some steamy scenes or not?!!! And let’s not forget about all those ‘supporting’ characters … I wonder if Ms Anders will take us back to Sweeny again …
