Gumshoe Goes To A Quinceanera (Gumshoe Mysteries Book 2) by Laura Hawks. I love this series. Its so fun and full of mystery and friends. Its the continuing story of Mia and her cat Gumshoe. It all begins when Mia and her friends are invited to their friend Tiffany’s Quinceanera. They are so excited and begin planning on what they are wanting to wear. While at the party someone is murdered and Mia and Gumshoe have to figure out who did it so Tiffany’s day won’t be spoiled. Since Gumshoe can be two places at one time being a ghost cat he listens to all the towns people when they don’t realize he’s there. Along with this and Mia’s witchy skills they work together to solve murders and they better get on it quick because there are more and more murders occurring. I do recommend reading the first book before this one to learn about all the characters. This is a fast paced young adult magical story!

When Holly visits a small Oregon town on a Cheer hunting whim, all she thought she knew about collecting Cheer goes out the window. Emerald Hollow is full of it. Cheer that is. So now she’s determined to figure out why and how she can use the small towns abundance of Cheer to help the North Pole.
Emerald House is more than just a business to Ash Hayes. It’s his world, and everything he’s ever known. After taking over the family business, Ash is determined to bring tourism up in Emerald Hollow, even if it means entering their tiny town into a Hallmark contest.
Holly’s not planning on staying but the amount of Cheer in Emerald Hollow could put Christmas at stake and leave her wanting more at the same time. Ash doesn’t want to love someone who leaves. Neither of them have a choice anymore.
I really struggled at the beginning, I felt that it was written in a very roundabout, odd manner for the first few pages, but it really cleaned up after the first chapter.
It turned out to be a super sweet and adorable holiday read that I’m really glad I stuck around for. A fast-paced storyline once it was in motion and plot that reads like a Hallmark movie and this girl is sold.
I loved the characters and I can’t wait to see what lore we can get from Emerald Hollow and I can only hope it’ll be a bit more holiday fun!

This was a great 5 star read. This author continues to pull me into her dark MC stories and I don’t want to put them down. The characters were great, their story had me all over the place. And the chemistry was intense to say the least. I also enjoyed seeing characters from past books as well. I was on the edge of my seat most of the time waiting to see what was coming next. Would Dingo be able to help Celee and keep her safe? The intensity and fierceness these men have when it comes to protecting people, especially their loved ones, really makes you want one for yourself. Another gripping read in this series about the Grimm Wolves MC, and once again I loved being back in their world. For Dingo laughter is the best medicine, and he’s very good at hiding his pain behind his fun and crazy personality. As a prospect for the Grimm Wolves MC he works hard to prove himself to his MC brothers. Celee needs help and somewhere safe to go when her father’s enemies go after her, and a chance encounter in a chat room might be the answer she needed. Dingo along with his brothers are determined to keep Celee safe once she’s under their protection, even if it means going up against some really dangerous criminals. The more Dingo tries to protect Celee and the closer they become, she realises that she’s not the only one with a difficult past and that he’s hurting too. As usual the descriptive narrative brings the characters and the setting vividly to life, making me feel immersed in the storyline and engaged with the characters. The chemistry between Dingo and Celee sizzled off the page and led to some steamy scenes. I loved how their relationship developed throughout the story, and I found this to be an enjoyable and engaging read.

Watching two people come together in romance is fun. However, watching Laramie and Trigger grow together. Is a whole other story. Wait, this is that story! Trigger lives amongst the humans, but he helps those in Long Claw. He being a lion shifter has many obstacles to overcome and work through.. One of which is his mate claiming. Laramie has put her life on hold as she helps her family out. So when her call comes, she is ready to start her new journey. Or is she? Will Trigger and Laramie listen to the call before the haze moves in? This was such a fast paced emotional story for me. I Loved It! The romance between these two characters is so on point, I could see the story in my mind. The author really put her imagination into this story. I am looking forward to reading more paranormal stories from this author.
This is the first book in the Wolfbane Series. I could not put this book down. Jasmine has always followed the rules. When she finds her mate her whole world implodes. This book ran me through my emotions for sure. I will be running to get the next book in the series.

It didn’t even take the first page and I was hooked.
Between reading from Cade’s point of view and the killer’s, it was tense and quick paced. Very easy to read and enjoyable. When Cade realized that these “car accidents” with nearly identical blonde women drivers was a pattern, he set off quickly looking for other patterns. Discussing parts of the serial killers past and how he had gone from traditional animals-to-humans was interesting details to show how/why he believed he was going to keep getting away with the killings. There were a few things that were obviously not going to happen in real life, like bringing in a minor civilian, who is related to the victims, into a high profile case.
Overall, I really enjoyed the book & can’t wait to read the next!

The perfect mix of mystery and comedy. This book had its intense parts and the fun parts. I loved how it picked up right after Killer Blonde and kept that momentum. With the introduction of some new characters and brought back the great ones from Killer Blonde to keep it going As much as I love Cade, Rook is a great addition to the task force and keeps it interesting as Cade continues being very focused. As you continue to read from both the killers’ and task force characters’ points of view you get to know more about each of them and how they interact. I would absolutely read more of this series as it kept me interested and I truly enjoy the writing style.

This is another great historical mystery from Kimberly Mullins. I have loved all the Notebook mystery series and was so excited to see another book from this author. The attention to detail that is placed in this story really brings the time period to life and transports the reader to that time and place making it a really engaging and immersive read. The author also does an amazing job with the characters making them all unique and believable you can actually imagine them living the lives she portrays in the stories.
In this story we are with Mark Sutherland. He is a journalist for a newspaper but he loves adventures and hates being stuck in one place. When he gets a job reporting on a supposed flying machine crash it is only the start of his adventures as he makes his way to Yukon on his quest for a story on the gold rush. But this is a story that isn’t straight forward. It is full of twists and turns as Mark meets new people, some of them friends, some of them enemy’s and as he continues to investigate the story’s he finds it also leads him to discover things people would rather be kept secret.
This story is a historical mystery that is full of twists and turns you never know what to expect or what Mark will stumble across next. There is danger and excitement around every corner as well as friendships along the way. This author creates an amazing multi layer story which will keep you on the edge of your seat wondering what will happen next. I was gripped from beginning to end.

I loved the first in this series. That said I did enjoy this one but not as much as the first. These are not stand alone in the sense that if you don’t read the first one you’ll miss a lot of details that help you understand more about Mia and Gumshoe. I’ve never read Laura Hawks before. I am glad this was my first story by her. It definitely opened my eyes to her writing style. Gumshoe and The Mysterious Mushroom is the first in this mystery thriller series. A fun youth adult novel with paranormal ties. I can’t wait to read the second in the series.

Logan McKenna is an amazing character but I feel like she just puts herself in these positions instead of being thrown into them. Logan and her family are finally on vacation, however it turns into a very scary situation for Logan. I don’t know if I could do what Logan did though. The murder of a local outsider named Adam pulls Logan and a few others at risk of possible losing their own lives. There are moments of “What?? She didn’t” to “The cops are so going in the wrong direction”. I should tell you that this is the 2nd book that I have read of the Logan McKenna series and the author never seems to lose me in them. I absolutely loved this book!!!! There are more of this series so I am definitely going to read them.

Dingo and Celee’s story is quite the page-turner. She’s on the run from her mob-related family. He and the Grimm wolves are trying to protect her. This adventure started in Texas and the “fun” just kept rolling in. Shootings, bombs, “gifts” left at Fury’s fence and other items made for quite the unpredictable story. Let’s say that Karma, the tech guy, earned his keep in this story. Watching Dingo and Celee try to work through the baggage they brought to the relationship in order to make their relationship work really had you rooting for them. They both have good hearts. It was great to see how that developed. I love watching the Grimm Wolves kick butt. Familiar faces chimed in. Fury placed a large role taking over while Brick and Emmie had the triplets. Shadow and her men come down to help. Many other wonderful items show up. Chains and his family show up. I enjoyed seeing the snippets of the whole gang. This is a book you really should read. The whole series is wonderfully good and well worth reading. It’ sone of my favorites. This author writes in a way that will have you diving in and not coming up for air until the story is over. I only came up to write the review because the story is over and I’ll be here eagerly awaiting the next one…..

Truck Stopped is the eleventh book in the Satan’s Devils MC Series by Manda Mellett. This is my new favorite book in this series. It was gut wrenching and heartwarming with my emotions flying between laughing and crying throughout. This is Truck and Allie’s story and I love the way it was presented. I especially love the flash forwards into the future as Drummer relates the story and fills in information on other members of the MC. I highly recommend this book, series and author.
This story is narrated by Sierra and Logan as all the books in this series so far. They do an awesome job bringing the characters to life. Their voices complement each other for an all around great listening experience.
No Amends is a Psychological Suspense/ Romance Suspense that had me turning the pages till the end. Its packed with drama, secrets, suspense, lies and so much more. The twists and turns had me on the edge of my seat trying to figure out what was going to happen next. The characters are relatable, fully developed and made the story come to life. This is a fast paced story about an accident and a stranger, but are they really a stranger? This is my first book by this author , but it’s definitely not my last. I highly recommend this reading this suspenseful story to find out what happens next. Looking forward to reading more from this Author soon.

The Mating Haze by Brooke May is the fantastic second book in the Long Claw Pride paranormal series. I loved the first book and this one is just as good, and I never pass up a chance to dig into anything Brooke has written. This paranormal romance story is set in a small town where there are shifters and fated soul mates. Brooke’s narrative makes it so easy to imagine and get lost in. There is action, drama, secrets, hopes, needs, wants, longing, laughter and love and you have yourself an enticing great read. The characters of Long Claw pride are positively crazy, most definitely fun and a lot wild, but you can’t help but fall in love with them good or bad. I love the unpredictability of what these wonderful and colourful shifters get up to. It is often mayhem and madness. Laramie never wanted anything more than her mate. She swore that she did not want to end up like her mother. But when a stranger comes to town and the Haze kicks in everything goes out the window. Trigger is a shifter but raised among humans. His life is helping communities of shifters. So, when he turns up in Long Claw things may not be as they seem. Make sure you grab it and settle in for the journey. You won’t be disappointed. I can’t wait for more.
Laramie Mackenzie is member of the pride of mountain lion shifters who call Long Claw their home, she is the second of a large family of five and is loved by everyone, she helps out in the local businesses her family runs, but it means that she doesn’t have time for her own dreams and this is exhausting her. Trigger Bain is a shifter without a pack, he has spent more time with humans than with his own kind, but that isn’t his fault, he is now being roped into helping with the family business of helping pride’s of mountain lion’s to improve their communities and bring investment to them.
When Trigger starts his journey to Long Claw, he is doing his usual research on the flight about the place and what is already there, but while he is driving in his rental car towards the mountains, a unfamiliar feeling begins and takes his breath away, he knows that it is the mating call, but he has no idea what it means, all he knows is that it feels right but he also knows that he can’t let it distract him from driving safely in the wintry conditions. Meanwhile Laramie is suddenly hit by the same feeling, but she knows what it means and she is more than excited, much to the surprise of her family, but she still goes on with her life until she can meet the mate she has longed for since she was a child and more than that, she is hoping that it means she might be able to finally take her dreams off of the back burner.
When the two finally meet, their connection is instant, but Trigger has a job to do and he is trying his best to keep doing this despite only wanting to spend time with his mate and this is where things start to get complicated for the duo because doing this means that they are going into the mating haze and albeit passionate, it can also be dangerous. As the two lions bond, it quickly becomes apparent to Trigger that something about his job feels off and it rubs him the wrong way and it causes tension between him and the community instead of the acceptance he desperately wants, so when he starts to look into his fears and worries and the mating haze clears he discovers something he wished he hadn’t. This is a steamy fantasy romance where truths, lies, secrets and revelations abound and tensions rise as clarity is found all while romance is kindled and the flames of passion ignite.

The is another book in the Long Claw Pride series, this time following Laramie and Trigger’s story. Once again, another unique element is added to the series in the form of the mating haze. It put blinders on making Laramie act out of character. Laramie is usually sensible but currently isn’t and Trigger has blind faith in his family, both of which could lead to disaster. I enjoyed how it was Trigger who was the one who had mainly grown up in the human world, this was a different take as many of the books I have read, it is the female character which takes this role. The characters are likeable and you can’t help but root for them, wanting a happily ever after. Once again, the author’s writing flows well and the descriptive narrative paints vivid imagery of both characters and scenery. I felt like I could step into the story following the twists alongside the characters. Another enjoyable book in the series, I can’t wait for more!
This is book 1 in the Long Claw Pride series following mountain lion shifters. I enjoyed the difference to the usual wolf shifters, it was refreshing and written well. Another unique element was the way that finding your mates works. I thought this was unique and a lovely way of doing it. The author’s writing flowed well, and the descriptions created vivid imagery of both scenery and characters. The characters are likeable, both with a past which affects their outlook on their mating situation and the character development as the book progresses (and the romance) was great to see. You can’t help but root for the couple every step of the way. This was an enjoyable book with many unique elements and written well. I look forward to the reading the rest of the series!

Shifter mates Book 2 of the Long Claw Pride series, The Mating Haze, is engaging. I love shifter stories, throw in some romance, strong characters and a series that just gets better and better and I’m hooked. As with the first book, the author focuses on another member of the pride, Laramie and her mating call is not all that it should be. There are road blocks to overcome to get to her HEA with Trigger. A fantastic read that has me eagerly awaiting book 3. Recommend.

Whodunnit romance This is an intriguing story is book 4 of the Philly Heat series. It is a mystery romance that slowly builds throughout the story. As Doyle and Hannah’s romance grows throughout the book, the challenges they face are not easy to foresee which creates a tension that the author cleverly conveys. I enjoyed reading from both their POV as this created a deeper connection to the overall story. Recommend.

The Mating Haze is the second captivating book in the Long Claw Pride series by Brooke May. As with the first book, this follows members of the Long Claw Clan, a mountain lion shifter community- and makes for fantastic reading. Let’s face it, Ms. May had me at shifters – but making them mountain lions certainly added an extra element of interest for me. Especially after reading the first book. I love the way that each book builds on what we learned in the previous one/s- even though the main focus is on different main characters- there is a bigger picture being built in the background, that bridges the series. For this reason, I highly recommend reading the first book before starting on this one. Trust me, you won’t regret it. Laramie and Trigger give us a front row seat to a superb paranormal romance, with fated mates, drama, emotion, angst, family, community, destiny, secrets, discovery, challenges, responsibility, banter, humour, antics, and more. It was so easy invest in them and the outcome of their story. But as expected, Ms. May threw in a few challenges and dramatic developments along the way to keep things interesting. Bring on Book #3! My Big Red Monster (Giants and Monsters) by Lois Wickstrom is a bright and colourful illustrated children’s story book with learning/teaching opportunities, overcoming fear, monsters, intrigue, fun, and a little drama- to us a few lessons along the way. When monsters hide under the bed, there are ways of dealing with them- and this story shows how- in a fun and imaginative way. The illustrations are also fun and interesting- adding an extra element of interest as they bring the story to life. A great addition to the series. Happy reading!

At first the story was a a tad slow for me to get into. But the more I read about Simon “Fennimore” Shaw, the more I needed to read. When he started his trip there was such an innocence about him. He learned so much about himself. He loved and lost. Although his quest only lasted a year. He became a man. I’m so glad I got a chance to read this story. I loved that it was written with the feel of a diary. It felt honest and sincere.

Perfect for a rainy day. I was first introduced to the sensational world of the talismans and warriors months ago when I read Rogue. Hooked I was excited to finally discover how Delaney’s best friend found her perfect husband. Dual perspectives of Riley Sheridan and Lynnette Montgomery this is a quick read with so much packed in that you’re left holding your breath from start to finish. Riley, his twin brother Rio, and their friend Seamus have just completed their sign ritual. A brotherly rivalry that neither expected to end so soon. Lynnette has kept herself untouched in hopes of finding her warrior but two months surprises everyone. When a simple bonfire party changes everything Lynnette and Riley waste no time in escaping the prying eyes of civilians and go to a secluded hunting cabin. Not knowing what her skill is they are only moments into training when they must learn by being in the heat of battle. An unlikely ally emerges when Lynnette comes out of her hiding to complete silence. In a moment of panic her skill is revealed to her. What is Lynnette’s skill? How does she see what others cannot? The world once again entrances the reader, teleporting them into the world of Celtic lore. I couldn’t help but look for more information on the dobhar-chu after completing the book. I look forward to going back and reading more of this series and can’t wait to see whose story will come next.
