I am loving Lois Wickstrom’s children’s books. This one is a great learning book with beautiful illustrations by Francie Mion. Loretta takes us on a journey of the lifecycle of the ladybug. From working in her garden through the seasons, to taking some ladybugs home to keep safe – we learn that they hibernate in the cold months, lay eggs when it begins to get warm and then they take care of our gardens. Loretta’s mom is great because she allows Loretta to keep the bugs in the fridge and teaches her how to keep them safe so they can do good things for our environment.

Wow, this was my first book with this author and I fell in love with this story. The first to a new series, Brother John is a character that will have you totally entranced by this story right from the start. There are many hidden secrets to be found. Brother John and Mick are on the hunt. These characters are well-developed and felt very real. The plot flowed well. All the drama, action, suspense has me just excited and waiting for book 2.

Nick and Julia are on holiday in Venice but it’s not exactly fun and games , they manage to escape but their taste of freedom i a short lived when interpol can’t he’s up with them ….

Julia’s mission to try and save her husband and take down the bad guy had me on the edge of my seat , some nail biting moments !

A read that was filled with mystery , history, intrigue , romance , thrills and chills ❣️📕

Degrees of Innocence: Dark Mafia Romance (Cruel Deceptions #1) by Via Mari

This isn’t the first book I’ve read by the author. Degrees of Innocence is the first book in the Cruel Deceptions Series. The author has a way of writing and each book gets better.

Katarina is on a business trip and on the first night there she ends up saving someone. She does CPR and saves a man’s life. She runs into someone and she may be falling for him. The quote I chose for Katarina is: “That I am attracted to a man I’ve known less than forty-eight hours. I don’t know anything about you, except your name, you frequent the island, you’re a little overbearing, extremely handsome, and that your eyes smolder and jaw sets when you get annoyed. I don’t date much, and it’s all a little overwhelming if I’m honest.”

Chase helps Kate do CPR on a man. He doesn’t want to let her know that he owns the company she’s working at. Before her team can get there he lets her know not to hate him. The quote I chose for Chase is: “Katarina, I don’t want our first time together to be rushed, and you need to finish working. Now go before I change my mind, take you into the bedroom and do terrible and shocking things to you.”

Highly recommended for Mafia Romance lovers.

This is book three in The Circle Series. Leylines, magic, connecting with the ancestors, and a unique refreshing read. There’s plenty of action and adventure in Freedom Rings. It’s a fast paced plot that keeps you turning the page. The story is told from multiple view points and gives the reader deeper insight into the characters. I would recommend reading the first two books so that you’re not confused and get lost. That being said, Hardwick’s attention to detail in world and character building brings the story to life.

This is my second book in the Amaleigha series and I love reading her stories. Amaleigha is a little girl, but shows a lot of conviction and care towards the community. She comes up with novel ideas, asks for help, spreads the word and makes sure that the plan is set in motion.
In this book , Amaleigha notices that the school library does not offer much to read for people who speak a different language. She herself loves to read and understands the importance of reading . So she sets up a plan so that students who speak different language would have more books to read.
She spreads the word and people come forward to help and raise money. Very soon, the community opens up a bilingual free library.
A very short meaningful story, I love the underlying message and the attitude towards serving the community.

This is the first book I’ve read by the author.

Connor is working with a friend. He then realizes that his friend already plans on training someone else. The only problem is that the other person is a spoiled brat. The quote I chose for Connor is: “And you didn’t want to upset the golden apple cart, right? I’ll go take a break. See you both later.”

Sienna was promised a vacay, but her parents have other plans. She’s upset with it and gets even more upset when she learns that she’s not going to be alone. The quote I chose for Sienna is: “You promised me a vacation. You promised if I won gold at nationals, I could have the holidays to rest. I need the downtime.”

Highly recommended for Contemporary Romance lovers.

From the very beginning of the book I could see myself in Lily, so many of the things she dealt with throughout her life are things that I have also dealt with. The moment she meets Jake I started rooting for them to work out and find their happily ever after, and wanting to know how their love story would end made me read this book super quick! One of my favorite things about the book is that it made me laugh so much, something that I love in a romance book! This author definitely left a great first impression on me, I can’t wait to read the other books in this series!

This is the first book I’ve read by the author. The Fifth Daughter of Thorn Ranch is a fantastic read. I had a hard time putting it down.

Emma is out tending to the fence lines. Her horse gets scared and ends up hurting itself. She finds a cave to sleep only to wake up and find that she’s in a hidden village. Right there on her family’s land. The quote I chose for Emma is: “I’m going to lie still and hope the poison doesn’t travel to my heart. Here’s what’s going to happen. The symptoms of shock are clammy skin and confusion, and I may pass out. Do you understand, Kai? I may go into a deep sleep, but leave me here on the ground. Don’t move me. Do you have any herbs with you?”

Highly recommended for Western Women’s Fiction lovers.

This was a fun and cute story and, as usual, the characters were just great to get to know. This author really does know how to engage her readers. Our whole family is already excited to get outer hands on the next book of hers.

I enjoyed the main character, Laurel. She was young and in love, but quickly exposed to what can be reality in some marriages. I would for sure read more books by this author.

I could not put this book down! This is a sequel so I recommend reading the first book before you pick this one up. It will help fill in some of the missing information. I absolutely love the way Laurie Lewis develops her characters and plot lines. I mean by the end of the book, I wasn’t sure who to trust! I really felt a connection with Tallie and the way Lewis writes her and her story just absolutely pulls at your heartstrings. This book is so fast-paced that I had a hard time putting it down because I just wanted to know what happened next! I love the independence Tallie has and her take-charge attitude. Again, this is a fantastic story…the plot is something that isn’t too far-fetched and the way Lewis writes it is just phenomenal.

Amaleigha Loves a Good Story is about a sweet girl who always thinks of others. She is very observant and notices things that others don’t. When she finds something she enjoys she wants to make sure everyone else can enjoy it too, so she finds a way to make it happen. In this story, she wants everyone to share her love of books, but discovers that there are not very many books available for bilingual students. She comes up with a plan and gets the community involved in making changes, so that the library has books for everyone.
This is another sweet story that reminds us not only to think of others and be aware that not everyone is as fortunate, but also that we can help others and even little people can make big changes to make the world better for everyone. I definitely recommend this book.

Another really cute story about Amaleigha! For a 6 year old she has such a grown up head on her shoulders and she thinks of such wonderful ideas. I love how this book can encourage children to think about how to fundraise for different things and encourage communities working together. I loved that at the end of the story there is suggestions about how to build a community book box, something that I’m sure children would love to do and be a part of. The story is simple and easy to follow with beautiful illustrations.

What a wonderful book that is fun and teaches about ladybugs and their role in the environment. I learned things I had forgotten. Such a very interesting book. My grandson and I will be reading it again this spring with our gardening unit for school. The characters are lovely. The story is very fun, and gives facts while maintaining interest. I enjoyed the story as my grandson did also. I think other kids will enjoy it also.

Ok so I’m a huge sports romance fan but throw in a bad boy too and I’m grabbing that book barely even reading the synopsis which is exactly what happened with this book AND it did not disappoint! I was hooked from beginning to end. There was so much more to this book than a bad boy hockey player, I really feel like I went on a journey with the characters in this story. The growth that both Beckett and Paige go on is so emotional and the friendship and connection that they have with each other is so lovely. I pretty much fell for Beckett straightaway!
This truly is a wonderful story and so much more than I first anticipated it to be! Highly recommend 5 star read!

This was such a great read. What struck me most about this book was the uniqueness of the storyline. I really liked Lily, she was definitely a woman on a mission! She wasn’t afraid to get stuck in. I loved that there was both humour and emotion in the story and the emotion certainly poured off the pages at some points. The characters both primary and secondary were great and I loved the authors writing style, the story was really engaging and I loved every second of it.
This is the first book that I have read by this author and I can’t wait for more to come from her. I would 100% recommend this story, it really is a great read.

This was a really good read, I have to admit I wasn’t too sure when I read the synopsis if I would enjoy it but I really did. The authors attention to detail really gave the story that extra depth to it. The characters were really unique and interesting to read about. I really like Soraya, she was a great female lead! I have to say that I read this as a standalone so it took me a little bit to understand what was going on and I would definitely like to read the first two books in the series however it didn’t have a real negative impact on my enjoyment of the story at all.
I will definitely be looking forward to reading more book from this author in the future.

This story had a good plot to it and I was pulled into the story from the start. The author did a good job with moving the book forward and developing the characters a bit. Katarina is on a business trip in Aruba gearing up for a week long meeting about the development of a new medical facility. Chase is a wealthy businessman that had contracted the company Katarina works to oversee said project. As I moved through the first few chapters and saw the interaction between these two it was evident there was a mutual attraction. It was hard to tell whether Chase knew that Katarina was working for him from the beginning or if he found out through the interaction in the emails. She though was surprised to find out whom she had been corresponding with when he showed up to do his part for the meeting. Will she be willing to move forward with their relationship after being lied to? Will there be a happily ever after?

Lois is a former high school chemistry teacher and former head science teacher at Science in the City Summer Camp in Philadelphia. She has also been an adjunct science teacher at University of South Florida. Since retiring, she continues to take science classes. Her class in Forensic Biology led to Little Red, The Detective, in which Red is studying fingerprint identification, so she can tell that “Grandma” isn’t who she says she is.

Lois has taken so many science classes that she believes science is the solution to almost every problem, including the dilemmas in fairy tales. She has invented what she calls Science Folktales. In each science-based tale, the protagonist achieves a better ending than the original because of learning scientific principles. She has turned some of these tales into plays.

She has also created a series of Mermaid Science stories, which make use of water science.

Lois is married to the love of her life. She has two children, four grandchildren and a dog.

What a beautifully written story, I am so glad I got the chance to read this book, it made me feel all the warm and fuzzy feelings on a cold December night. I really enjoy second chance romances, and this was more than I expected, original and one that kept me interested the entire time. I can’t wait to see that comes next in this series. Highly Recommend.
