A Bride for Noah (Brides of Broken Arrow #1)A Bride for Noah by Cheryl Wright
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Noah always thought that the land his father gifted to him for his birthday was his, but when his father dies he finds out that there are conditions he must follow or he will lose it all. He must marry someone within a month and he has no idea where to start. Working his land has been his life and he was never worried about finding someone. With few choices within his grasp he must improvise. Mary is in a very hard spot. She is barely surviving and slowly starving to death. Her father has decided that he can no longer support her and promises her hand to man she not only hates but frankly is scared of who he has probably become based on his past. When she gets a crazy request of a proxy marriage to a stranger she doesn’t even think about it. To escape her father’s arrangement she agrees without a look back. Can Noah and Mary turn this marriage of convenience into a real marriage? Will her father fight the proxy marriage so she can marry his choice instead? Will Mary stay the full year of the contract or end it sooner? This book can make you feel many emotions. Anger at some characters, happy here and there throughout, sad throughout, and much more. Such a great book. I can’t wait to read the others in the series.

Face the Fire (Moore Family Saga Book 5) by Michele Sims – Review by Jaimie Salmon-Colburn

Face the FireFace the Fire by Michele Sims
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Face the Fire is the 5th book in the Moore Family Saga. This romantic suspense has brought us a long way. Starting with Cade and Lecia in the first two and moving onto Miles and Bella in the rest, this saga has had many ups and downs. This book can be read as a standalone, but I read it with the rest of the set and I recommend reading them all. Miles Moore won’t stop until his dreams of a music empire are a reality, but Bella is worried about their family. Their two twins mean the world to her. She wants nothing more to help her husband with his growing dreams, but when business collides with family she fears a feud. Competitors can make their life harder and she doesn’t want any bloodshed. Will secrets split this couple and their family up? Will Bella’s work become a problem? Will Miles’s competitive nature endanger their lives? Will their strong family bond support them during these hard times? Their large family has always been there for them, but how about now? Great Saga. Slow going at first, but picks up and keeps you on your toes!

The Fire God Tour (Moore Family Saga, #3)The Fire God Tour by Michele Sims
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Third book to this Moore Family Saga. Miles Moore (son of Cade and Lecia from book 1 & 2) is all grown up (26) and still obsessed with fire. Ari (aka Miles) is a famous international hip-hop performer who uses fire in his show. It’s in his genes after all. He loves all the things that come with fame like cars, travel, women, and of course all the money. But life on the road away from his large family and the death threats he could do without. When a woman (Bella) who is afraid of fire joins his marketing team he thinks she’s the last person he’d be attracted too and names her Ice Queen. The banter between the characters and their growth throughout the books is wonderful. Can Ari get past his own thoughts and follow his gut? Will fire burn his world to the ground? I really enjoyed this book. I am excited to finish the last two in the saga!

This one started out slow for me and took me a minute to get into. Once you do get into the suspenseful action twist you just can’t wait to see what happens next. Cade and Lecia are dealing with many dynamics throughout their young married life. Family, jealousy, EX’s, love, hate, and a baby on the way pave a rough path for these two as they try to start their new lives. When a few events happen that threaten their unborn child they must lean on their strong family bonds and work through the emotional roller coaster of sacrifices, forgiveness, jealousy, and faith. Will Cade and Lecia work through their many problems and come together to save their child? Will jealousy and hatred rip them apart before they can even start their family? This author builds the characters so well and has them work through some things that many couples in real life must face. Can’t wait to see what happens in the rest of the saga!!

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This book latched it’s grip onto me and had me hooked in good! I couldn’t wait to read what happened next and now I can’t wait to read the next book! Miss Fletcher is a charm “collector” and now she is in a WORLD of trouble!!! As an ex bounty hunter turned criminal, her specialty is finding rare magic-laced items. She does this by breaking into the houses of recently arrested criminals and stealing stuff for the highest bidder. It’s a pretty good gig until she loots the wrong item (a dragon sword) from the wrong basement. Within minutes of her stealing said sword, she realizes it was a HUGE mistake. The blade has a mind of it’s own and it has an anger management problem that causes Fletcher to be on the run from the government shifters and other bounty hunters. Now on the run, she has to find a way to prove her innocence, all while a murder weapon follows her around. This book really keeps you on your toes. Will she run away never to be seen? Will the murder sword turn on her!? Will it continue to kill everyone who threatens it and her? And where did it really come from? What does the government know and why are they lying about it all? Based on the Lao Tzu saying, “Great acts are made up of small deeds”, Priscida Finds Greatness is a great young children’s book that teaches about finding greatness in yourself and in others. Priscida is a smart ally cat that goes through some rough stuff in her life. She is an ally cat, caught and taken to a shelter, then recused, only to be lost, but then found again. She learns through perseverance, greatness is contagious. Small acts of love and kindness lead to great things. I LOVED the illustrations and I believe that this is wonderful book for younger kids. Explaining kindness and how small acts of love can change the world in big ways is very important to me and this book does just that! My only complaint about this short story is that it was to short!! I wanted to keep reading about this Vulture shape shifter, who is sent to help a dying soul, in a city that his “kind” is banned from! Feeling a pull and restlessness, he makes the dangerous journey to Mandara to help the soul come to peace and move on, but man is he in for a few surprises!! Because vultures touch the dead they are shunned and it’s forbidden for them to take mates. But fate always throws some twists in life when you least expect! So what happens when the soul he’s helping has a couple dying wishes that go against all the rules and also holds some secrets of their own?! Will this young Vulture do his job and make a record of her life and her secrets!? Will the soul get her wishes and pass peacefully? Will the cities’ people find the forbidden Vulture in their city and take the law into their own hands? Can they fight what society deems wrong and overcome the hatefulness many have towards them? Ushering souls to move on is their job, yet they are outcasts because of it. This Vulture has many things to overcome, but will he be able to? I hope the author write more! I can totally see this short turned into a series!! I LOVED IT!!!!!

This is such a wonderful and informative children’s book. I read it within a day (698 pages on my kindle), but I think it would take my 9 year old about week to read. The author builds on characters and scenery so well throughout the entire book. I can envision the island and all it’s sights around it. I can’t wait to have my daughter read this so we can talk about it and learn more about the animals in the book. The last 50 pages (reading from my kindle app on my phone so this could be different depending on how you are reading this) are a glossary and an appendix that is filled with so much information on the animals, plants, and other ocean information talked about throughout the book. You get all your facts, but you also get a little magic and adventure in this book at the same time. Will Cherish and her family of whales survive the virus and all the dangers around them? Will the Dolphin Riders be able to help those with symptoms?! I would recommend this book to dolphin lovers (of any age!); children doing any marine studies/book reports on dolphins, sharks, whales, or the morbillivirus; and just children who love animals and the ocean. I can’t wait until a second book comes out, so I can see how the adventure continues for the group of dolphins and their pals.

This retelling is so different and fun and interesting and catching! It sucked me in!! I read it so fast that I was upset there wasn’t more for me to read right away. LOL. Well let’s just say, things never goes as planned…. Enter in Ashling, who was brought up to fear the dark creatures beyond the arc, which boarder the house her stepmother, her stepsisters, and herself live in. Can she fight these beasts her father warned her about, before disappearing past the arc? Will she take her glass slippers to the ball or will the beasts tear her apart before she can even make it? This book has been an experience for me. I haven’t read many Sci-fi Multiverse Space books, but let me tell you I was hooked in right away! The author takes such care building the characters up between book 1 & 2 that you can picture these three college friends (Matt, Julia, and Dan) joking around and poking fun at each other. He connects them in a way that shows you their friendship and how they handle their hardships together along their journey that it grabs you and you can’t wait to see who does what next! You don’t NEED to read book one before you read this book, BUT I really recommend reading it!!. Book one shows you so much about each character, their species, each of their journeys, and much of their training and abilities being learned and used throughout both books. I’m not going to spoil anything but I enjoyed all the details brought to life in this set. I can picture some of the scenes like they were on cavus. You can tell that the author really put time in building each character, the worlds and scenes, the spacecrafts and their technologies, and even the knowledge behind the teachings and meditations. Again I haven’t read many books of this type, so some of the space lingo I was new to, but I picked it up pretty fast and I’m so glad that I did. You will love this journey and the race to save the world and more. Will these college friends, with the help of others, save everyone in time? Will they survive all their trails along the way? Or will they fail and doom multiple worlds? Buckle up for a Journey through space and time!!

An Unexpected Bonding (The Unexpected Trilogy Book 1) by Lilly Rayman – Review by Jaimie Salmon-Colburn

Oh my gosh guys!!! You have got to read this book!! If you like wolf shifting, vampire, and faerie books you will LOVE this one!! There are some wonderful characters and you will laugh out loud at some of the shenanigans that they get into! The author wrote this book in a style that you get to meet so many characters and see their views through out the story. It’s steamy, romantic, funny, and a great start to a set! I CAN NOT wait to read the rest of the Trilogy and see what happens with them all!! I also LOVE the back stories to the wolves and vampires. I would totally recommend this book!

Bake Believe by Cori Cooper – Review by Jaimie Salmon-Colburn

This books was SUPER CUTE!! I read it myself before suggesting it to my 9 year old. Of course she is going to want to bake everything! But I think we will take one section at a time so I have time to covert recipes to low carb no sugar. Anyways, back to the book!!!! I LOVED IT! I think that this is a wonderful book for preteens. The story was fun and exciting. Who doesn’t like Baking and Curses?! The characters where great and super funny at times! I can totally see some of these scenes play out with the boys! I would defiantly recommend this book!
