I was excited to see what Eve Sawyer would find herself mixed up in the second book of THe Eve Sawyer Mysteries, Murder at Lolly Beach. The first one had me hooked on this style of writing by Jane Suen so I was more than ready to dive in no questions asked. This was one of those books though that you thought you knew what you were going to get and got something even a tad more dangerous and daring than you expected. I loved the story and how it kept me on the edge of my seat as I followed Eve and her nosey self on her vacation at Lolly Beach. This is one of those books you will want to read with the lights on and the doors locked, and with plenty of time to finish in one go because you won’t want to put it down for one second. I am highly anticipating the next book in this series, I am hooked. I hope this is a series that Jane Suen will pursue for a long time coming.

This is a continuation of the story of Tessa and Jordan, it is four years later and they haven’t seen each other since, but when they come face to face at a charity event hosted by the company she works for, Tessa cannot believe the Jordan is there as well and starts to panic while hoping that it is just an illusion. Tessa blows it off as nerves over the speech she is about to give to the attendees, but her boss keeps telling her that she doesn’t have anything to worry about, that people will see her passion for her job and as she finishes it, she realises that she was right and so she goes back to the table to eat her meal. Later on when she goes to the bathroom, but in the connecting corridor Jordan is waiting for her and blocks her path, but when he speaks, the tone of his voice and the words he is is saying contradict what she remembers and she cannot believe that theJordan she sees in front of her is the same one. As he speaks to her, he brings up a past event and how she is a hypocrite because of it, but mainly that he accuses her of taking money for keeping quiet about their past, of blackmailing his mother into leaving him and as he continues, she cannot cope with all the emotion and manages to get past him and leave.
When she gets home, she is comforted by the sight of her daughter, even though she is the spitting image of him, has his personality and loves the same things as him, so when she hears a knock on the door and realises it is Jordan, she tries to hide the apartment from him and goes outside to talk to him. She makes the excuse that he can’t come in because her mother is sick and has trouble sleeping, so when she does, Tessa doesn’t want to wake her, but when he threatens her job if she doesn’t turn up the next morning, to talk to him and as he leaves, she goes back inside and tries to come to terms with what has just happened and trying to figure a way out of this new crisis in her life. She does as he says and turns up for work where Jordan is going round the office, being led by her boss and introduced to everyone there, they are all fawning over him and when he sees Tessa, he makes a beeline for her, but she is thrown by his friendly attitude towards her when Laura introduces her and when Jordan brings up their joint pass, she is a little surprised, but nowhere near as surprised as he is when her boss lets slip about her daughter and it is at that moment when things change.
When Jordan whips her into a conference room and demands that she explains everything, she tells him the truth, but he doesn’t believe her and accuses her of manipulation and deceit, she tries again to explain her side, but realises that it isn’t worth it and he won’t listen, when he demands that she goes to dinner with him, he also threatens her with lawyers, but things are about to go from bad to worse when neither of them can keep their tempers and things stall when Jordan’s demands come up against Tessa’s devotion to their daughter, but will their butting heads cause them to argue to the point where one of them loses their daughter, or will they be able to come to an agreement and give their daughter the chance to know both of her parents properly? The only way to read through this emotional rollercoaster is to read through to the end as emotions run high and viewpoints and revelations are shared throughout.

“Unbroken Vow” is the type of book where you notice other people around you, in the real world, but you just cannot stop reading. This book has love, anguish, loyalty, devotion, and overwhelming bravery as its main ideals. The main characters are strong-willed and beautiful, and it’s an honor to get to travel their world with them. The beginning of the book sets the tone for the awe-striking story to take place. The writing is very descriptive and powerful, as if the feelings flow out of the pages. I would recommend this book to anyone who loves a good romance novel with main characters who make you laugh, cry, and love.

So I think after I’m not sure how many books I may have found my favourite one from this author! I was absolutely hooked from beginning to end – Stormy was such a brilliant character to read about – I almost felt like I was hanging off of his every word. I hated him, then I loved him and then I hated him again – I definitely went backwards and forward with my feelings towards him but I just found his character so riveting to read about. I loved how complex he was and I loved that I really felt like I had to get to know him – I think the author did an amazing job with him as a character. This is book 2 in the Satan’s Devils MC Utah series and it did not disappoint! A fantastic 5 star read!!

A story of forbidden romance and one vow that leads to a whole load of shenanigans. It was a well-written tale with a vibrant world that felt really staunch and stoic, much in keeping with the characteristics I always assign to paladins whenever I am dabbling in a bit of DnD. I will say that I sometimes felt the narrative a bit stilted, I don’t know whether this was done on purpose considering the subject matter and all the rules and whatnot that poor old Glaive has to follow. I suppose it works when I think about it, though not always enjoyable to read, Glaive is a serious character and a really stilted and almost formal, feeling narrative suits him down to the ground. Glaive is a Paladin, a really important and high-ranking Paladin at that, a regular Knight of Ardara and he takes his job very seriously, in fact, he takes everything pretty seriously, Glaive is not a light-hearted chap in my opinion. When his mate asks him for a mahoosive favour on his deathbed, then Glaive has to agree, only problem is that Markus isn’t just asking him to scatter his ashes someplace nice, he’s asking for Glaive to protect his wife, a wife that he is, by law, not supposed to have. Serious Glaive, being all serious and stuff, takes this vow seriously and is determined to do just that, protecting Ada from the fall out of her simply falling in love with the wrong person. For a while, his little plan of squirreling her away works, hiding pretty much in plain sight as a servant to the king (the closer you are to danger and all that) but Glaive does not foresee how other individuals whose brains reside in their breeches and egos swell to fill a ballroom, could foil his plans and put Ada in immediate danger. Obviously, as time goes on, though Glaive does not really soften as such, his feelings towards Ada change, and his reasons for so valiantly protecting her become somewhat blurred. It’s a good read, I think I found it a little like whiplash because I have been reading so many funny romance novels recently, whereas this is as I may have mentioned earlier, a serious read. Still, it is worth it and Lewandowski is clearly a skilled writer, keeping the tale moving along at a nice pace with some wonderful descriptions that I can almost guarantee will take your breath away.

I loved this collection of stories. They are all very unique and bring thier own quirky to thier stories. This anthology ranges from historical to contemporary romance. Showing some harder sides of love and some easier sides. Askew is a 5 star read you don’t want to miss there’s something for everyone.
This is a collection is a wonderful selection of authors and stories for you to get your teeth into. This Anthology has all sorts of genres and I defy anyone can’t find something for them.
There are about 26 stories which you will indulge in hours of reading, I love these collections because this is were I find new authors to explore and get to add more to my growing TBR list. As there is so many it is hard to pick just a few of my favourites but one I really enjoyed was Paper Love by Aubrey Wynne.
This story follows Jess who has left her home town and has found herself in the US. With trying to adjust to the chance in pace she finds that she has attracted the advances of her best friends brother, Ben. Ben tries everything to get Jess to go out with him but to no avail.
As the story goes on you see the interaction between the characters is brilliant and the banter is great. This is a lovely story and I believe is a great uplifting story which I recommend for you to read and the other stories in this anthology.

Dance of Hearts: A Cinderella Regency Romance Retelling (Historical Fantasy Fairytale Retellings Book 1) By Byrd Nash 4 Stars
This is a retelling of the classic fairytale of Cinderella. It is a historical romance which remains true to the era it was about. The story as a whole had a Jane Austin feel to it. It was beautifully written. Although short, the characters were well rounded and had depth to them. You feel the unfairness of Melinda’s situation and will jump forward joy when it’s her time to shine. I loved the addition of the Fae element which gave the story a supernatural twist. If you are looking fir a quick read with a happily ever after then I highly recommend this book.

I really enjoyed getting to know Miriam! I haven’t read all of Mya’s books so I know this probably isn’t her first appearance, but I liked her all the same! Mya does a great job building her characters and setting her ‘stage’. This was a decently easy read and it had mystery and conflict in all the right places and I really enjoyed that I got almost to the end and still didn’t really know for sure where the fingers were pointing. I am not typically a paranormal reader, Mya knows this, I love her balance and structure and they way she seems to weave the characters into the world where her books take place. This was a great book, I know should go read the books in between that I haven’t had the pleasure of doing as of yet.
This isn’t my first read by this author but it has got to be the best by far! This was an epic fantasy romance read that utterly captivated me from the very beginning until the end! I was transported into this book and I didn’t want it to end! This book has an incredible description that made it vivid in your mind while reading it. It has amazing characters and a storyline that flows effortlessly and keeps you wanting more! I absolutely loved this read and can’t wait to read more from this author! I highly recommend this read, it should not be missed!

This first book in the Sacrificial series is an amazing read! Athalie has to face so many challenges to try and destroy the weapon. Even with help along the way she may not make it in time to save Neona. There are many twist and unexpected turns in the story to keep you wanting more! As Athalie travels to find the talismans you can’t help but cheer her on in hopes that everything comes together! This is a must read for sure!

Stormy’s Thunder by Manda Mellett is part of the Satan’s Devils MC Utah Chapter. If this whole series isn’t something you are familiar with then I would highly recommend you rectify that immediately. This is easily one of the best series I have ever read and this book has firmly placed itself within the top, if not at the top. I always wonder how the author is going to top what she has already done – since it has been so outstanding up to this point – and yet with this book she has proved just how good she really is. I was absolutely riveted by Stormy and his character. He is one of those characters that has so much more to him than you would initially think. He is a character that you will be familiar with if you have read the rest in the series and he is a character that you really don’t think you will like at all. However the author has done an incredible job of not only making him likeable but making it so you completely fall in love with him. As with the rest of the books this one is so well written – it is fast paced and action packed but is also full of all the little details that make it so good. I cannot wait to see what else this author has in store for us and in the meantime I might just have to go back and read all the previous books again!

Matching Miriam is the first book I have read by Mya O’Malley, the cover art drew me in. I really enjoyed it, and didn’t want to put it down! It has a good balance of action, suspense thriller and a taste of romance. I love that the lead female is strong and independent, but has a soft side as well. The supporting characters are well written and the friendships/chemistry they have is very relatable. Miriam and Jesse have a past, but he moved away, putting a end to it all. When he comes back “home” they soon run into each other. It wasn’t instant reconnection, and I liked that they worked together to build the trust and relationship again. Miriam’s friend is very interesting, and I hope there is another story for her, because I think it would be a great spin off. The book has a good level of suspense, and keeps you guessing until the end. I was shocked to find out who the killer was, and did not see that coming.

Askew Ever After by Aubrey Wynne was a great 5 star read. I really enjoyed this collection of romance stories, you get all sorts of different stories: friends to lovers, rocker, RomCom and so much more. You can read a story here and there as you have time.
One of my favorites was Paper Love from Aubrey Wynne. I really loved Joss and Ben. I was pulled right into their story and I loved the character’s personalities. Joss had moved to the US and when she met her friend’s brother things took a different turn for her. She hadn’t planned on finding love but their chemistry was too much to ignore. I would love to read more on these two.

‘Paper Love’ by Aubrey Wynne is a sweet and heartwarming romance which had me happily turning the pages hoping that Joss and Ben would get their happily ever after. Love is the last thing on Joss Palmateer‘s mind following the sudden death of her mother. Joss is a shy and gentle women who grew up in a Papua New Guinea mission and as well as the death of her mother she’s getting over an ex boyfriend’s betrayal and a house move. So when Joss is introduced to her friends brother, Ben at a party although the attraction is instant she politely declines his offer of a date. However physical therapist Ben Montgomery is determined that Joss will not ignore his advances for long and although usually known as a player, Ben finds himself falling in love with Joss. With the aid of a stray homing pigeon and an old origami legend Ben does all he can to win her love. This is a fairly short read but one which has a real feel good factor. I liked how the author has included an explanation about the importance of the origami at the beginning of the book. I loved Joss and Ben who were both likeable and relatable characters and they were really bought to life by the descriptive narrative. Their chemistry also really came across in the story as did Joss’s trepidation at risking her heart for love. A lovely, enjoyable and engaging read.

Thought this was a pretty amusing tale that pleasantly surprised me. It never really took itself too seriously and had me quite literally guffawing as I listened. At first, I found the narration a little jarring especially with the voices of the male characters, but after a while, I properly got into the story and even that didn’t bother me, I was having too much fun. I mean, to be honest, the whole concept had an amusing genius to it that you just have to applaud, I mean a vampire that faints at the sight of blood? Hehe, it’s just so wonderfully daft that it’s great.
I liked Jane, I thought she was chirpy and chipper and just bursting with character, it did start to annoy me with the whole, I don’t belong to anyone schtick, feel as though the point was drummed home one too many times. It was obvious that she was strong and independent from the way she conducted herself, I really didn’t feel like we needed to be told so many times. I thought that Ethan was an interesting character, he got more entertaining as time went on and mostly then it was because he was bouncing off Jane, getting frustrated at her bubbliness. I also felt more connected to him when his past was revealed a little more.
I will say that you will not be bored with this, it’s ridiculous and unpredictable but that is half the fun. I recommend this to anyone looking for a good chuckle with a bit of spice sprinkled in.

License to Bite just made me laugh and feel good listening to it. Carrie Pulkinen is a relatively new author to me, but from the two books I have listened to she is fast becoming an author of choice for me. Jane is hilarious and Ethan is reserved, but together they are perfect. Sophie and Gaston add in the perfect foil to Jane and Ethan. This story was full of witty dialogue and New Orleans charm. I look forward to listening to the rest of the books in New Orleans Nocturnes series.
This is the first audio I have listen to narrated by Hollie Jackson. Her accent was great and she really hit the laugh factor. I will be keeping my out for other books narrated by her.

I love fairytales and I love when authors take a classic and put their own spin on it. I loved this take of Cinderella and it being placed in regency England. Nash does a beautiful job being true to the roots of the fairy tale but placing it in a new time with new circumstances. I flew through the pages and will be eagerly reading this classic again. I needed a change of pace and boy was this EXACTLY what I was looking for! This YA fantasy was jam packed with dystopian adventure that kept me glued to the pages. I loved the author’s world building and immediately connected to the characters. If you love a good dystopian adventure, you will love this book!

This is an anthology of romance, from historical to contemporary, from rock stars to cowboys, office romances and fated love, as well as a forbidden love and men showing their alpha and softer sides.
First, a rockstar made a choice which could have landed either him or the woman he loved in jail, he chose her and has to live with it until a chance meeting with her where he has to make another hard choice.
Second, a woman makes a decision which could either be the worst thing she could have done or the best thing that could happen to her, but which is it?
Third, next a big city girl has a thing for cowboys and when her best friend gets engaged to one, she decides a fling of her own is needed, but will she be able to leave him behind to go back to her big city life afterwards?
Fourth down the line is someone who wants to rewrite their life to make it something better as it falls apart around them, but what kind of life will it be and will it be any better than their current one?
Fifth one along is a second chance romance between past loves, when one is brought back to his hometown under sad circumstances and runs into an old flame in a flower shop, will their pasts be too much to overcome, or will they be able to give each other that second chance after all?
The sixth is a friendship to love story, but can the friendship remain while the love is there, or will tomorrow be too late to find out?
Number seven is a story where a single night will change a woman forever, but is the mysterious businessman she has connected with going to make her life better or worse once it ends?
Eighth on the list is my personal favourite, a tale of a man trying to win over his sister’s best friend, but she isn’t someone to open her heart after grief seals it away. She is not the normal girl he would go for and he is intrigued by her wild and exotic nature and the chase is something he cannot resist, but she is wary that he is a player and only after one thing, can he prove to her that she is everything he wants and needs, or will she run a mile? This is a slow burn romance with a playful and charming pigeon as a bonus.
Ninth in the series is a tale of murder, after ten years away from her hometown and a dead ex-colleague in her shop, a woman must work with a ghost from her past to solve the mystery and find a murderer, but will they do it before someone else gets hurt?
Tenth is a god who has observed the creation of the universe and held it in his hands, observed the wonders within it, but can one small and delicate thing, love, derail the Godcode and destroy everything he has seen?
Second to last is set in a summer camp where an assistant is hired and their boss is preparing for a civil, but uncomfortable few months with them, however, when revelations begin, will it stay that way, or will things work out in the end?
Finally, a coffee shop waitress catches the eye of a billionaire CEO and he will stop at nothing to make her his, but will she fall for his money and charm, or after a night of conversation, food and passion, will she still refuse to be bought?
A collection of romances with something for everyone inside it, if you are looking for a book with happily ever after’s, then this could be the one for you.
Jordan Elizabeth is a newer author to me and I have enjoyed her writing style. Athalie is a YA fantasy with adventure, drama, challenges, and the fate of the world. Her plotline is energetic, lively, and keeps you on your toes. The characters are fully developed and engage you in the story. Athalie is a village girl who has been chosen to be the yearly sacrifice. (Now with that being said, doesn’t this story capture your attention?) The gods have decided that the emperor needs to be stopped. There has been a weapon in the emperor’s arsenal. The problem is that it will destroy their world. The gods resurrected Athalie to search for talismans to help with the emperor’s weapon. One little problem, if Athalie dies while on this quest she will not be resurrected again. I highly recommend this book and I will warn you that you may read it in one sitting so make sure you have everything you need. I cannot wait to see what is coming up for Jordan Elizabeth.

This is not a new author for me. I love Mya O’Malley and her series the Maggie Trilogy was amazing. I could not wait for this book to come out. I already knew who our main character was, because I read the Maggie series. This book can be read as a standalone, but don’t do that to yourself. The main female is Miriam and she’s a detective. Our main male character is Jesse, and they are long-lost loves. This book tells their story and was worth the wait. I’m excited to see what else she’s got up her sleeve!

I am a big fan of Manda Mellett’s ‘Satan’s Devils MC’ series and I always look forward to the next book coming out and I was not disappointed by ‘Stormy’s Thunder’. We are back with the Satan’s Devils MC, Utah Chapter and this story focuses on Stormy. In the first book in the series ‘Road Tripped’ Stormy had walked away from his Club and his brothers and this storyline continues with him being haunted by his past mistakes. Stormy jumps at the chance to become a new man when he gets the opportunity but before long his past catches up with him and his life is in danger. He has to stay alive as he needs to protect the woman he loves in order to save her life too. As usual this is a fast paced story with a plot full of action, drama and great characters but there is also a romance element with Stormy meeting Cat. I loved Stormy and Cat and how their relationship developed throughout the novel. I also enjoyed both catching up with, and meeting new members of the MC. As usual Mellett’s writing style had me hooked from page one and the story being told by different point of views, Stormy, Cat and Swift’s works really well. The characters and the setting really come alive through the descriptive narrative making me feel both engaged and immersed in the story. This was an enjoyable and exciting read and I will now be waiting impatiently for the next book in the series.

Athalie is a fantasy novel which tells the story of a sacrifice and what came afterwards, it starts in the capital of the Sapphire Empire on the planet Neoma, when Athalie is 6 years old and watching the annual sacrifice for the first time, she is in awe of the dancers spinning to the drum beat, the priestesses composure and the priests voices which are lifted in song, as well as everyone else being in their finery, but the most beautiful of all is the girl chosen to be the sacrifice for that year. As the young woman reaches her destination, she stops walking and desperately tries to escape her fate, Athalie is terrified and willing someone to help her, but realises that her death is more important to the people, even the girls family, than her life is and when she is tied up and still sent to her death, Athalie is changed forever.
Eleven years later, we rejoin Athalie in the Sun Chamber for the annual choosing of the sacrifice, all girls between the ages of thirteen and seventeen are gathered together for the gods to observe and choose the one whose soul would be reborn, as the priests passed between the girls and the High Priest used his god given staff to test each of them, Athalie is planning her wedding and imagining how the ceremony and whatever happened afterwards would be, but this is all for naught as she is chosen to be the sacrifice for that year, she is sure that they are wrong and that she should not have been chosen, but when she is taken away to the chambers assigned to the sacrifice, she maintains that the choice was wrong, but the High Priest will hear nothing of it and walks out of the room, leaving soldiers to guard her and one night Athalies fiancé helps her to escape where she is being held so that she can say goodbye to her family, however, she is caught.
Over the next three days, she is made beautiful by the slaves for the events leading up to her sacrifice, she feasts, drinks too much, meets the emperor and walks through the villages so the people can see her, she still maintains that she isn’t meant to be sacrificed, however, the High Priest threatens that he will hurt her family if she doesn’t go along with everything and become the sacrifice, but when she is being bathed on that fateful day, she overhears a conversation about a weapon which the High Priest has found and is going to use on their enemies. When the day comes, she goes to the designated place and her life ends, but it is not the end of Athalie, after the pain has subsided, she finds herself in a field of wildflowers with animals around her and feels at peace, but she suddenly goes elsewhere and finds herself in front of one of the gods who answers her questions, but with only vague answers, but when the weapon comes into the conversation he explains what the weapon is and what it will do, Athalie is shocked by this information and begs to go back to make sure that they won’t use it, he refuses, but Athalie is adamant that she needs to go back, so he takes her to see other gods. When there, she manages to find out how the weapon can be stopped, but they do not want her to do it, so they agree to point her in the right direction, but that she has to find and then work out how to use this other weapon herself, but if she fails, she will not be reborn.
When Athalie is sent back to Neoma to find what she needs to stop the deadly weapon, she gives herself another name and declares that she is a prophet, she tries to talk to the High Priest, but he doesn’t believe her declares that he will use the weapon anyway on the next full moon, which is only a few days away and locks her in a room, however, she manages to find a way out and while doing this, she finds an unusual ally who helps her on her mission, but will Athalie be able to find and work out this weapon in time, or will she perish along with the rest of her planet? This is a whirlwind mission across countries fraught with danger and obstacles which keeps you hooked right until the end and well worth a read.

Athalie by Jordan Elizabeth is the first book in the Sacrificial Chronicles. It is a unique YA fantasy story that draws you in with a well written story and amazing characters. I loved the feel of this book from the moment I started reading it. It felt fresh and new straight away and it made it exciting to read. I loved Athalie – she had such a journey to undertake and it felt like I was with her for all of it. The author really knows how to make you connect with her. This author is a relatively new author to me but this book has to be my favourite one of hers so far. I am certainly looking forward to reading book 2 and if this is the standard of her work then I am looking forward to reading other books by her in the future as well.

Stone of Destiny by Nadine Travers is the first book in the Juniper Samoni Trilogy. This book is a fantastic start to a new series. It really gets you hooked right from the start and is the kind of book you can’t stop thinking about even after you have finished reading it. The author has done such an incredible job at creating this new world that it is so easy to imagine it – made even better by the fact that it is set in Scotland. The characters are so engaging. You connect with them at once and they really enhance the overall story. This is one of the strongest starts to a new series that I have read in a while and I am so excited to see what else is to come.

Askew ever after is lots of short stories in one book. If you love a romance novel then give this ago. My favourite story was by far ‘Paper Love’ by Aubrey Wynne, i will totally be reading more from her. The Book as a whole is entertaining and there are some great characters.
Wow the Utah chapter surprises me time and time again. I just never really know what is going to happen in the story when they are involved. While stating that I really enjoyed the story. It’s not a favorite but there are many areas in here that I loved and others I just tolerated. Besides that this is greatly written and I loved seeing more with Swift and the guys from the mother chapter.
Stormy has always been a character you either hated or loved. He is argumentative, bossy and doesn’t care for anyone…brothers included. He makes changes in here and becomes a nicer guy who isn’t out For only himself. I never saw him or expected him to find someone he could care about. I think that surprised me the most.
Overall this is a good story. Not my fav but still strong and worthy. These Utah boys are always a surprise.

The Longest Run: a Ski Patrol Rescue Romance is the fourth book in the Lawson Family series by Tracey Cramer-Kelly.
This story had me hooked from the get go! Set in Montana in a beautiful sounding ski resort, Carly works as a part of the ski patrol team. Carrying a secret, she is happy to rely on short-term romances, and then along comes Chris. Chris has his own past to deal with, but he’s got his sights set high and he’s ready to train hard. Romance is not on his agenda
I loved this story, it was jam-packed full of emotion and draws you in from the first page. The twist and turns along the way keep you hooked right until the end. The characters were fantastic, and I love it when an author takes the time to ensure you really get to know them, for me it makes a story so much better.
Dance of Hearts: a Cinderella Regency Romance Retelling (Historical Fantasy Fairytale Retellings Book 1) by Bryd Nash is a wonderful retelling of a classic fairy tale. Set during the Regency period there are echoes of Jane Austen and other writers of the period. This is a short, quick read and suitable for teens and older. Though everyone is familiar with the story of Cinderella it is always nice to read a new take on a classic. I flew through this book in no time but completely enjoyed my time with it. I have read other books by this author and this did not disappoint. Wonderful characters, setting, and a happily ever after what more can I ask for in a book. I look forward to reading the next in the series and more from this author in the future.
