A Hundred Wishes (Band of Sisters) by Marianne Rice – Review by Jules Herbert

A Hundred Wishes (Band of Sisters)A Hundred Wishes by Marianne Rice
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I have to admit after reading a few books by this wonderful author that just seeing her name on the book will make me want to pick it up and read it. Both her main and side characters are always so well written and she draws you into their world so expertly that you feel every step of their story.

This book is no exception! I was hooked from the very start when Gina and Bryce meet under a misunderstanding. I knew straight up Gina was going to be highly spirited and that I was going to love her. This book is filled with wonderful characters and a rocky emotion filled road to love. It is a book not to be missed. I will definitely be buying and reading the rest of the series as soon as possible.

Power Play ( Astoria Bay Thunder book 1) by CJ Cartwright – Review by Jules Herbert

Power Play (Astoria Bay Thunder #1)Power Play by C.J. Cartwright
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I absolutely loved reading the story of Levi Fawkes, Captain of the Astoria Bay Thunder and Brynn Mackintosh, a very talented photographer. They were each others first loves over 10 years ago and neither really left that love behind them, even when life took them in different directions.
By a total fluke a radio competition sees them meeting again and then a work opportunity for Brynn sees them working together where it becomes very obvious their off the charts chemistry is still there. Levi wonders if they can recapture what was lost to them years ago, while at the same time Brynn wants to run scared fearing if it didn’t work it truly would break her this time. This is a fantastic start to what I believe is going to be such a fun steamy series filled with wonderful characters that I just can’t wait to read more about. Bring on book 2 I say!!

Luca Rossi and Aly Mancini are from two rival families they so they typically shouldn’t be together! Luca sets out to have Aly as his own in order to get back at her father but soon realises that might not be the only reason she is all he can focus on. No path to love is going to be easy for them and in this book that is so true. You are kept on the edge of your seat waiting to see what will happen not only for this couple but also for those around them. From the first word to the very last there was always something happening in this action packed, dark steamy romance.

Leslie McClunis is a dedicated Firefighter trying hard to make her way in a male dominated profession made even more difficult when the men she is suppose to work along side and trust, don’t want her there and make their feelings known regularly. This element of the story made me so damn angry!
At a painting class she meets Trevor Hampton, who unknown to her is a defensive end for the Cleveland Browns. Leslie is keen for a one night stand but Trevor very soon decides he wants a whole lot more. Trevor is one determined man and he is out to see that Leslie, his strong independent pocket rocket becomes his and that she succeeds.

Forbidden MoonForbidden Moon by C.R. Robertson
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

So I have seen others write that reading this AMAZING book and conclusion to this series has been bittersweet for them and I totally agree, that is a really good way to describe how I was feeling too! I was so excited to continue the story and find out what was going to happen and yes, once again I was completely hooked from page one but at the same time I didn’t want my time with these fantastic characters and this amazing world to end. The need to know won out of course and I devoured the book as quickly as possible! If I could give more than 5 little stars I absolutely would!
With the Vampires and Lycans now coming together to go against the Hellspawn you just know there is going to be non stop action…Can they come out the other side of all this victorious? you have to read this to find out…no spoilers given here But I will say this…you are crazy if you don’t get reading this book NOW!!

Tasha and Levi are back and again they had me hooked from the first word to the last. I just couldn’t stop reading because there is always something happening. There truly is never a dull moment. They have gone from enemies to fated mates and now have to decide what they can and can’t believe from Lies told for centuries! As they delve into things looking for answers I swear at times more questions arise then actual answers. I am totally hooked on these characters and this world even if Castus gives me the creeps!
If you haven’t read Book one I HIGHLY recommend no make that you HAVE TO read it first! Believe me it is worth it!

I was in a bit of a reading funk then I picked up my kindle and opened this book! OMG!!!! My funk is 100% gone because I am now totally hooked on this amazing author and her books. I just couldn’t put it down. Please keep them coming I say.
If you love paranormal books then you have read plenty featuring not only Vampires and Lycans but also it seems their almost traditional hatred for each other, this series brings a brand new twist.
Tasha ( a vampire) and Levi (a Lycan) are suppose to be enemies but their connection and dare I say undeniable chemistry makes staying that way impossible. Of course things don’t go smoothly, that would be boring right but I promise you, you will thoroughly enjoy every twist and turn along the way. Bring on book 2.

The Titans are back and I was totally hooked from start to finish in this wonderful and at times heart breaking story from this amazing author. While it is Book 2 in the series you can absolutely read it without having read the first book and follow the storyline and gorgeous characters with out any issue. Honestly though you want to read any other books in this series simply because it is that damn good! The author has created wonderful characters who lives you feel so much a part of that you feel everything they go through right along with them. She addresses real life issues in a thought provoking way as well as giving her readers some really well written steamy scenes. This book truly has it all.

This extremely well written and highly entertaining historical novel set in the 1600s definitely sticks true to the saying that no path to true love runs smooth. Both of the main characters, Jacek and Oliwia, who I love, experience many ups and downs along their journey and you feel them all right along with them. I for one can’t wait for the second book too see what awaits us!

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

OMG! As I sit here and try to write this review I still have tears running down my face from this amazing, emotional, exceptionally well written story! I am truly struggling to find the right words to fully do this book the justice it deserves. The entire time I was reading this book my heart was involved in every word and every turn of the page. A true sign of a great writer I say.

My heart beat along with Jared, Madison (Cookie) and Mr Christopher as they tried to navigate their way through Mr Cs illness along with the highs a great day can bring and the pain a bad day can bring. In fact I fell in love with all the main cast of characters and now I know some of them are in other books by this amazing author I will be finding them and reading them also. I just might need some recovery time first! A Rock star, his Dad and a nurse might seem like and unusual combination at first but please do yourself a favour and READ THIS BOOK!! If I could give it more than 5 stars I absolutely would!!!!

Unlikely to Stay (A Parker Lake Novel Book 3)Unlikely to Stay by Ashlie Knapp
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I am so addicted to this series, I just want more and more!! Do yourself a huge favour and grab all the Parker Lake novels and read them now!! This book can be read as a standalone and be enjoyed but characters from previous books are all through the book and because I had read the previous 2 books I was excited to read more of the fun they were also having. I can’t wait to read more and see what is next for the wonderful people of Parker Lake. I so wish I could live there!

Book 3 brings us the story of the wonderful Colleen, or CC to her friends, and Brant. After avoiding Brant like the plague, even though she was very attracted to him, gorgeous CC ends up on a date with him where she soon discovers there is so much more to him than she first believed. Brant himself is shocked at how much he opens up to CC right from the very start. Together they get to know each other and love blooms! But we all know the road to true love is not always a smooth one so you need to read this fantastic novel for yourself to see if they can make things work.

King Bastard (A Dark Sparrow Novel Book 6) by India Kells – Review by Jules Herbert

King Bastard (Dark Sparrow, #6)King Bastard by India Kells
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I foolishly started with book 6 of this series and while I loved the story and was able to follow it well, getting to know all the characters a little, I truly believe had I started from the very beginning my enjoyment would have been enhanced. I HIGHLY recommend starting from book 1 and reading the entire series… this exciting action packed world will captivate you from the very first word.
This story brings the events effecting all these wonderful characters to an exciting conclusion but especially the story of the very very Alpha Lazarus and the woman to capture his heart through all the turmoil, the Beautiful Dr Sasha. Lazarus seems to take on the weight of the world in this powerful story but Sasha is strong enough to see through all his walls to see the true Oz and together they will fight the battles before them.
If you are looking for something new to read this series is a MUST read from this fabulous author.

This wonderful author never fails to hook you from the very start and the 3rd book in this amazing series definitely does exactly that! If you love a great paranormal romance filled with action, suspense and of course the all important Steam then this is the book, no series for you. While I do think you could read just this book if you chose too, I highly recommend reading the series from the start as there is a story line that threads through them all which will keep you wanting to know more and more. The two characters heavily featured in this book, Master Trentino and Angel, end up sharing such a strong connection it will make you almost envious. Characters from previous books will reappear and you will learn a little more about the Consulate and the vampire world. All I can really say without giving too much away is grab this series today and get reading!!!!

The Unholy: A Supernatural TaleThe Unholy: A Supernatural Tale by Paul DeBlassie III
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I am going to be really honest here and say that I have mixed feelings about this book but my reasons for saying that are not what you probably think. This author is a fantastic author and gave us a well crafted story with some characters I liked and some that totally creeped me out! I have been left with mixed feelings because this is not a genre I usually am drawn to read but at the same time, while made feel uncomfortable at times, it also drew me in and I had to know what was going to happen next. Now that has to be the sign of a great book right? If you love horror, especially if it is set in a world that makes you feel like it could be all too real, then this is the story for you. I will be recommending this to all my horror reading fans.

It has been a long time since I have read a book in this genre, a western set romance, but thanks to this wonderful author, I can tell you it wont be so long before I read another this time around. This new series has me captivated.
In this first book we are brought the story of Cora Lee Schuster, a young woman in search of better life and mail order bride and Jace Coleman, a young man with a deep love of trains and being a train engineer. While Cora is intended for another true feelings develop between the two and with some shall we say adventure along the way Love will be found. This will truly warm your heart.

Kissing Darkness (Dark Spell #5)Kissing Darkness by Isra Sravenheart

This is the first book I have read by this author and it definitely will not be my last! My only regret was starting on book 5 of this series instead of at the beginning as I think I would have enjoyed it even more than I did had I had the proper background. I will be going back and starting again for sure. So if you are new to this series I highly recommend starting with book 1 to further enhance your experience.
This paranormal story has it all…great characters, suspense, magic, witches and revenge just to name a few of the elements….I mean who doesn’t love a bit of revenge right? I promise it will have you on the edge of your seat with all the twists and turns you will not expect.

Born in Darkness (Mafia Elite #3)Born in Darkness by Amy McKinley
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

If you believe sleep is over rated and you don’t mind not getting any then this is the book for you because once you start you won’t want to put it down. I know I didn’t!! It is a 5 star book from start to finish which is something I have come to expect from this amazing author and in particular this series. I was on the edge of my seat from the first word and stayed there right until the end. She takes us into the Mafia world and shows us the dark side of the life but also such depth of feelings and emotions shared by the characters especially Stefano and Emiliana. I LOVE the strength and connection they have. I also LOVE the badass female characters she writes.
While you can read just this book on it’s own, you really don’t want to miss the grounding the previous books will give you into the storylines that thread through this series. I couldn’t wait to see if a few suspicions I had after reading the previous 2 books were true and while I won’t say if they were or not , no spoilers here, I will say please give me more!!!

Red’s Peril Part 2: The Prez’s Old Lady Satan’s Devils MC Vegas Chapter #2) by Manda Mellett Review By Jules Herbert

Red's Peril Part 2: The Prez's Old Lady (Satan's Devils MC Vegas #2)Red’s Peril Part 2: The Prez’s Old Lady by Manda Mellett
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I am so hooked on the Satan’s Devils! I am reading as many of the Devils books as I can find. This was yet again a 5 star read from start to finish for me. This author brings the Devils to life so well and you are so totally immersed in their lives, that you feel like you are right there with them every step of the way. This story also addresses a present day issue seen as controversial by some but that I feel is important and it is presented perfectly.

After 15 years Red comes face to face with Cheryl, basically the one who got away and discovers he has a child Zeke. A lot has happened for them both in those 15 years and this story follows them as they work things out together and when someone comes after the Vegas Devils chapter they are tested yet again.

Wow what a fun steamy read! I can’t wait for the next Titans book as I am 100% sure it will be just as amazing as this one. The characters are truly wonderful and you are with them every step of the way. You just want things to work out for them.
Caspian and Paisley each find themselves in a tough spot, for very different reasons, but they can help each other and solve both problems if they marry and stay married for a year. A marriage of convenience should be easy to do right? After all its just 12 months, they can throw in some hot sex along the way and at the end they will both have what they wanted. We all know the best laid plans don’t always work out the way we want them too. Both Caspian and Paisley never expected this to start to feel real but can they really trust those feelings?

Unlikely to Fit (A Parker Lake Novel Book 2)Unlikely to Fit by Olivia Sherwood
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Unlikely to Fit is the second book in the Parker Lake series by the wonderful Olivia Sherwood and it is absolutely fantastic!!! I fell in love with these characters in the first book and I was so happy to be able to read their individual stories this time. I simply could not put the book down and greedily read it in one day. OMG I haven’t laughed out loud so hard, while reading a book in ages!!! Griffs MeeMaw is absolutely hysterical!!!! I hope I am that sassy at 90!
Griff and Breckin have both had their hearts totally broken, in very different ways, but being able to understand each others pain is something that I think helps them bond and a new love to grow. They are just such wonderful characters and from start to finish you want only the best for them. They will face some more heartache and some twists and turns along the way but together they can get through anything.
Do yourself a huge favour and head on over to Parker, you won’t regret it!

Spoilsport (Pierce Brothers Book2) by Belinda Williams – Review by Jules Herbert

Spoilsport (Pierce Brothers, #2)Spoilsport by Belinda Williams
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Wow what a fun read Spoilsport by Belinda Williams is! I have to admit I absolutely loved the fact that it was set in Newcastle and the Hunter Valley region, being a Hunter Valley girl myself it was so much fun being able to completely connect with the places mentioned. Don’t worry though anyone reading this Fab book will love it, you don’t have to be a local to enjoy it.
The path to love is definitely not a smooth one for Nadia and Luke and at times I wanted to scream at Nadia to wake up to herself and see what an amazing guy Luke is. To me that’s the sign of a great book if you are that involved the characters become so very real to you. As you delve deeper into the book you realise all Nadias strong bravado comes from some very painful places and you want nothing more for her than the love she deserves…Luke is just the man for that job, he just has to convince her of that.

Ms Parmley packs so much into her stories and the characters that you wish they went on for longer. It was great returning to these wonderful characters and seeing their stories develop further. Check in focuses on Leann and the turns life has taken since graduating. She meets gorgeous police officer Len and life definitely gets better until an armed robbery takes place at her new job.

Fate, Frankincense & Funerals is a short read (yes I wish it was a longer story but that is just because I’m a greedy gus! LOL) that will hold you captivated from start to finish.
