Very impressed with the second installment in this vampire series. It’s now 70 years later, yet danger still looms. Loving the pace of this book. It was a little quicker, but it really didn’t lack anywhere, and easily keeps the reader engaged. This author brings her characters to life, and you can tell she is very passionate about her writings. I would strongly suggest reading these in order, as they aren’t really standalone novels. I can’t wait to see how Julia develops with time in the next installment.

I enjoyed the fact that one of the main focuses in this book is the relationship between friends. Even with other things going on that was always right at the heart of the book. The book was well thought out with some strong themes running through. This is a newer author to me and I enjoyed thr way the story was crafted. Although I thought it was quite an easy read I also found that it had depth and emotion throughout. This is a great start to a new trilogy and I will definitely be reading book 2.

This is a well written and engaging historical romance that really seemed to draw you in. The author has done an amazing job of creating a vivid picture of what the era could have been like. It was easy to picture everything being described and at times feel like you were there. The characters were engaging and wssy to connect with. They complimented the overall story well and made for an interest read. This is a brilliant example of a historical romance and a must read for any fan of the genre.

If I had to choose one word to describe this book it would be ‘angsty’. If you are me, that’s a good thing. As much as I’d love to have smacked Loukas and Krystina in the head many times, you can’t beat a good angsty book. This is the third book in this great series and having read the first two, I was really looking forward to reading Loukas and Krystina’s story. I had many emotions reading this book. I laughed, I cried, I was exasperated but mainly, I cried. Much of the story is set during the early days of the covid pandemic, a time when I lost my dad to covid, so as much as I loved this book, I did struggle through this part but that is nothing to do with the author’s great story and great writing. That’s totally on me. I absolutely adored Loukas. So many times I wanted to give him a huge hug and tell him it would be alright. Krystina is the character that exasperated me but that’s what made it such a good read. The author has done an amazing job in creating these characters. I also loved that we got to see more of the characters from previous books and see how their lives are progressing. 100% recommend this book.

This is the first book in the First Coast Thriller series. It is a great start to the series. This book is definately one that will keep a reader gripped and on the edge of their seat from start to finish. I loved it. I literally couldn’t put it down and the pace was fast enough that it kept me engaged without missing any details or depth.
This books is a crime Thriller and has so many twists and turns at the reader cannot be sure of what to expect or what the outcome can be. When you mix cartel boats and investigations with the FBI you just know that things are going to be pretty or plain sailing and lives will be on the line.
Our main character Clayton has had a rough time of things. He was part of JSO but he gambling addiction got the best of him and now he’s a repo man. All he wants is to get back into law enforcement and make his family proud. When he is offered that change he grabs for it however it comes at a cost and that cost is crossing dangerous people and putting the family and friends he loves into harms way.

I love this series. I read the other books and didn’t realize I was missing book 1. So thankfully I was able to get it. This was a beautiful getaway of a novel. The time travel back to 15th century England and its troubled ways was a change that was needed, and thoroughly enjoyed as I was on vacation. I have read several novels as of late that were based back in 15th-18th century, and this one definitely was all consuming in the words in which were used, the customs we became familiar with, and the emotions of a young lady doing her due diligence to please all those around her, and to fulfill the needs of her people. I especially loved being inside Isabel’s head the night/day after their wedding.
I did find it a little difficult to get into at first, though the author clearly took her time to weave the story so that the reader was able to follow the story more clearly throughout. It kept me guessing as to how closely knit the families within these pages really were, the future of the newlywed, and what it meant for their society and their world. I loved the world-building, character development, and plot line, and would be more than happy to read more by this author in the future!

The Detail is a delightful tension filled quick page turner! Dana has cleverly woven threads to give the reader a complex and drama filled thriller. The intrigue, fear and suspense are palpable. The story is well-written and the plot is clear-cut. The story is a little predictable but I was thoroughly engrossed and invested in it.
The characters have substance are believable you will fall in love with them, well most of them. It is so easy to get caught up in this story to the point of not hearing your husband when he is talking to you. Oops.
Detective Jessica Foster is hunting a ruthless killer and will stop at nothing to get them but it may just get her in a whole lot of trouble if not worse, killed…….
Detective Seth Hamilton has lost his prisoner a ruthless killer hellbent on revenge for his partner who is missing. Things turn deadly and he fears but he hopes against hope he will see her again.
Dana Wayne is a new author to me, and I really enjoyed her writing so I will definitely be reading more of her work.

I have to say alien romance was not a thing I thought I’d like but I’ve read a few recently where I was pleasantly surprised. Happy to have dipped my toe into this romance trope recently.
I really enjoyed the enemies to lovers aspect of this book and the way the main characters fought their attraction to each other. As this is sci-fi based I did give the insta-connection a bit of leeway that I wouldn’t have normally enjoyed in a romance, but there were times I did think the connection overriding what the characters wanted and would normally do took it a little too far.
I did love the “trials” aspect that we see here. I thought the fighting was very well done. Not sure how realistic it was for a woman with a description of being around 5 foot to be beating all these preternaturally strong foes, but again, sci-fi; we do what we want.
I overall enjoyed the romance aspect. I didn’t think it was too over the top or that the intimacy was forced. I think both characters came with their own baggage about relationships and making connections, and despite their “soulmate” attraction to one another pushing them to be together they did it on their own terms.
Did not read book 1 and this book does mention quite a bit of stuff about the background of the main characters from book 1, so highly recommend reading it, but I thought the author did a good job sussing out the information here so as to make it enough of a standalone. Obviously easter eggs though as it gives away a lot of information, especially Castor (talkative bugger).
Recommend this for normal alien romance readers and newbies to the trope alike!

This was such a cute book! It reminded me of a sweet romance movie that you might find on TV. This book centers on Levi, a retired Navy Seal, and Bella, a key witness in need of protection. Levi finds the perfect cover for Bella and is “hired” to care for his younger sister after the death of their parents. Levi, Bella, and his siblings quickly form a bond. This great story brought a bit of everything, including suspense and romance. The characters are great and easy to relate to. Levi and Bella help each other heal and grow– which is what love should be about. I am looking forward to reading more from this author and this series!

5 Stars On Viking Seas (The Forerunner Saga Series Book 3) by Jay Veloso Batista
On Viking Seas is the third book in The Forerunner Saga Series and is a epic fantasy that is hard to put down. I truly enjoyed reading this book although I had a hard time following along at first because there is a lot going on but once I got a couple chapters in it flowed better from there on. This is a fairly new author to me although I have read a couple of other books by him this is my favorite yet. This is packed with action, adventure, Vikings, drama, danger and some mythology. I highly recommend reading the first two books if you haven’t already started them as they are just as good as this one and you get a better idea what is going on plus you get to know the characters better. Get ready to be taken on quite the Vikings adventure. I highly recommend reading this book to find out what happens next. I look forward to reading more from this Author.

Ember is new in the firehouse and loving every minute, her life is her career, and nothing is going to pull her from the focus, but when she sees her old mentor throwing his life away, she is determined to show him the way out. Although she is willing to do anything to help a friend, she has always had a secret crush on him, but will he see her as the woman she had become or the kid he mentored in the Fire Service.
This story was a well written and developed story. It is not often that the mental health card is given to the male character in the story, but this is written with respect, strength and the willing to go and try to sort out the demons going through the main character.
The chemistry between the two main characters was brilliantly and although this is my first book within this series this can be read as a standalone story. I loved the interaction of the secondary characters which flowed with the story and bringing the main characters more depth and growth as the story went on. I find these sorts of series brilliant with different authors perspectives on main theme is both enjoyable and refreshing.
I can’t wait to read the rest of the books in this series and more books by this author as well.

This story was nothing like I imagined it to be. It hurt and hit in all the right places for me to fall in love with every element. Andy and Stephen more than pull at your heart strings with all that must be endured, and the fight for love and family.. Stella being in the mix just added that right feel in as well. Such a sweet and perfect little girl that gave Andy and Stephen more meaning in their lives. This was more than just a love story. It was a run against the clock to find a serial killer, a plea to save a marriage and a look into a world where sometimes you need more than just love and faith. It was gritty, emotional, intense, suspenseful, and unforgettable. This is an author I will be reading again, and soon.

Kept me on the edge of my seat! I loved the plot and the pace was just perfect, it didn’t feel too rushed or too slow, the dual POV kept me on my toes, the spicy scenes were five chili peppers, and the main character was really smart. I feel like when there are mystery aspects to a book, I usually get frustrated with the MC, but not this time. The romance was great too and I really hope the other two brothers find love and I get to read about it. This was a great book, but it was dark. I’m used to reading dark romance so I wasn’t shocked or scandalized but this book isn’t for the faint of heart.

Love In the Roses is the first book in the Love Through the Ages series by T.L Clark. It is an historical romance set in medieval times during the War of the Roses- there is plenty of drama, adventure, politics, and banter- just to name a few. As I would expect from Ms. Clark, this story is really well-written, engaging, and interesting. Ms. Clark always weaves a wonderful story and this one is certainly proof of her talents. The dialogue, scene setting, and whole ‘atmosphere’ of the story was cleverly crafted to be in keeping with the times, and provided an intriguing snapshot of medieval life. The glossary of words at the back of the book, was not only interesting, but also quite useful. Add an arranged marriage, honour, sacrifice, culture, and finding love unexpectedly- and we get quite a captivating story. So, if you love your historical romance stories, then you will certainly want to get your hands on a copy of this book asap. Looking forward to seeing what Ms. Clark does next… Happy Reading!

Where should one look for inspiration when there is none to be found? Destiny is an author who writes romances, but she is in a bit of a slump. Enter Niccolo Mancini, an actor/musician who is looking to make a jump across the pond and make it big in America. They have a chance meeting when Detiny’s best friend has a photo shoot and needs her to step in. Will sparks fly or have there been one too many tabloids claiming Mr. Mancini as a playboy? This was a very slow burn, but I found it a likeable story. I stopped reading it here and there to do other things, but it can easily be read in one sitting. I liked the feisty side of Desitny but found myself wishing she had higher self esteem.

This second installment in the War of Destiny series is just as great as the first. While many years have passed between the books, the time is nothing for the vampires in Julia’s ka-tet. Julia is considered a young vampire, as it’s been less than a century since she had been changed. For me, this book was a lot more emotional than the first book. I felt like, even though Julia had gone through a lot in her human life, she experiences more heartache and challenges in Pursuit into Darkness. The reader learns more about the Resistance leader, Samuel, who turned Julia. Things start to hear up between the Resistance and the evil vampire, Valentino. This book reads just as fast as the first book and I cannot wait to get started on the next book in the series!

No one wants to hear the diagnosis of cancer whether it’s for a human, or your furry family member. It’s a numbing and terrifying moment. Caring for Kingsley is a poignant journey into the world of canine cancer. I am delighted this book was written! Having a senior dog myself, and my daughter having a Llhasopoo that looks so similar to Kingsley, made this story feel closer to home.
The emotional rollercoaster of wanting everything to be okay for your four-legged family member is felt through these pages. I wouldn’t know where to start if a cancer diagnosis was given to one of my fur babies. Finding hope in Kingsley’s journey and what his parents do for him is inspiring! If you have fur-babies that are like your children’s to you, this book is a must read! Thank you for sharing this painful journey and spreading your light in the darkness.

It took me a while to get into this book, not due to the book itself but because of life events. But, once I was able to focus more on the book, it took me less than 2 days! What a great read! The characters are so well-developed and believable! The author did a great job describing the relationship between the members of the ka-tet. Julia’s strength through so many terrible circumstances is truly exceptional. Not only is this kind of a period piece (as it’s set in the 1500s), but it’s a journey of Julia’s transformation into a vampire and her discovery of the world in this new light. I devoured the description of the world in 1500s England as well as the world of the vampires. Definitely a must read for anyone who loves tales involving the creatures of the night! I can’t wait to read the rest in this War of Destiny series.

Isabel is a young woman in the 15th Century during the time of War of the Roses. Her father has arranged a marriage to a knight on the opposite side of the war. At first Isabel is hesitant and unsure of herself, but when she meets her intended she is even more unsure. But not is all lost when she discovers the man who he truly is. During the time of war and unease puts poor Isabel through some hard discoveries, but I’m glad by the way she handles them. The love between her and her intended made me want to read more and get lost in another historical romance. I will be reading more by this author! The food mentions was a plus!

EmVee is a strong MC this this book. She is a high school boxer from a family of professional boxers. She first feels like an outsider as once usually does when one moves to a new town. She then meets Silas and Kayson and she starts feeling like she belongs. Just as she feels this way teens start disappearing and nobody knows what’s going on. The twists and turns in this prequel made do lots of double takes and scratching my head! I enjoyed reading this and the characters were likeable. The writing was done well and had a good pace to it. I feel like I will be getting the first book to see how everything plays out!

I found myself getting pulled into this story soon after I started reading it. This story took me back to those high school times and reminded me how mean kids can be and the lengths they will go to to become popular and stay that way. Holly is nervous about starting a new school and wants to fit in. Nathan is a popular guy who is a jerk but for a different reason than you would think. When Holly finds out Nathan’s secret everything changes, which causes a series of events that make this story captivating. Some secrets shouldn’t have to be kept. I thought the author did a great job evoking emotion throughout this book. This isn’t the first book I have read by this author and it won’t be the last. This author tells stories full of emotion, drama, great characters and more. I enjoyed reading this book.
Book 2 in the series did not disappoint! I definitely recommend reading this series in order as book 2 picks up 70 years later as Julia continues to live and learn her abilities as being part of the Ka-tet. Julia and Samuel decide to flee when a strong vampire being like Valentino shows up and tries to take them all down. When plans do not go the way they should, all Julia can do is fight back ….but will Samuel and Julia be able to match up against the powerful Valentino?
Gripping and at the edge of my seat!! Twists, turns and power…..sum up to one great story!! Cannot wait until Book 3!! This series continues to be fantastic!!

Enemy turn Lover and Marriage at first sight…..It intrigued me by the synopsis and the first chapter pulled me in until I couldn’t put it down. I read it in a day. Definitely loved the characters Isabel and Sir William and how they survived the War of the Roses.

Talk about a series of mix-ups and miscommunications in one book! In the third Pierce Brothers book, we meet Seth, a billionaire tech guy who just wants to be treated like everyone else. Unfortunately for him, his PA is quitting and most of the recent applications keep hitting on him. In walks Victoria and the admin mistakes her for the applicant coming to interview. Seth is immediately intrigued by her and wants to hire her. Unfortunately Victoria isn’t there for a job interview; she is a reporter trying to get an interview with him for her article. She is up for a promotion and if she doesn’t get it before her 30th birthday, she is quitting her job. She admits to him that she isn’t what he thinks and he has her wrong name, she gives him her nickname and last name and he is able to track her down and realizes she is a reported. Initially he is pretty upset, but can’t stop thinking about her. He offers her a job as a consultant and will give her the interview. Victoria isn’t about mixing business and pleasure, but spending so much time with Seth is making it hard. There are still a lot of miscommunications between the two of them which definitely added to the tension in the story. I thought how the characters reacted to the different situations was extremely realistic given the circumstances. It was a well written story and the characters were well developed. Another great Pierce story and we get further insight into all of the brothers, except the 4th brother, whose book I hope is coming soon!
