I am really enjoying this series and I think this book is definitely my favourite so far. Even though this is book 3, it can be read as a standalone, although I’d recommend reading them in order as other characters do make an odd appearance. Hannah is a sleeper agent for Russia, and is finally activated. Jack works for Grey Ghost and Hannah is the girl that got away. I loved Hannah’s character, it was a refreshing change to see the female lead be as competent at espionage as the guys, and she was seriously well trained. I enjoyed the style of the book, the flashbacks to Hannah’s youth, helped explain how she ended up where she did and why her loyalty lay where is did, and why she trusted nobody … until Jack. Jack is certain that Hannah is his future, but he can’t bring himself to trust her completely after he finds out that she is a sky. The complex plot of this story was brilliant, very well explained and really does keep you guessing until the end. There are several, ‘I wasn’t expecting that’ moments that really add to the suspense. Definitely a book and series I would recommend. The narration by Regan Brown is excellent as usual and I enjoy that the same voice is used for all the books. In the series.

Amy McKinley proves yet again that she is a magnificent writer that deserves to be on every romance-lovers to-read list with her second book of the Moonlit Destinations series. More suspenseful than the previous and leaving the reader wondering what will happen next, it is no wonder that I finished yet another one of her books in record time. Yet again, I find myself excited to read the next book in this series, and eventually read the series it is connected to, the Gray Ghost series.
The book reels you in from the very first paragraph, with a heart-pounding scene that leaves you questioning what just happened. When the lovers reunite later on, you can’t help but hope that the novel will end with a happy ending, despite many things trying to keep them apart. Another short yet sweet novel, readers will devour this quickly.
Moonlit Kiss: A Venice Romance (Moonlit Destination Series) by Amy McKinley. I have never read a book from Ms Amy that I have not liked. Amy knows what genre works for her and she does it really well. This romance suspense story takes us through the cobblestone pathways, water canals and centuries old buildings and art of beautiful Venice. I have visited Italy, so it was so easy to envision all that Amy’s rich narrative provided. There is mystery and suspense which just adds another dimension to this already wonderful read. This is most definitely my favourite book by Amy to date.

Shield & Shade is the first book in the Ascended Guardians series by Misty Hayes. This is my first read from Ms. Hayes, so I was excited to find out what lay between the covers. I love a good YA paranormal story, so the premise of the story had me sold right away. As I mentioned, this is a YA paranormal adventure story full of secrets, supernatural elements, dramatic moments, family, action, mystery, and suspense. I thought the story was quite creative and original- with richly textured world building. The story was quite ‘visual’ with lots of detail and vivid descriptions. Sometimes the descriptions got a little heavy handed- which did interrupt the flow of the story a bit, but overall, it was a fun read. Looking forward to seeing what’s in store for us in Book #2!

Of Fire and Bone is the third and final instalment in the Of Magic and Scales series by Natalina Reis. This is a fantastic paranormal MM romance with a plot that will keep you glued to the pages until you’ve read every last word. Natalina Reis never fails to deliver unforgettable stories, and this book/series is definitely a favourite. As this book follows on from the first two, I really recommend reading them before starting on this one. Knowing what happened in Books #1 and #2 will definitely enrich your reading experience of this book. I loved Aiden and Nael right from the beginning- they are such great characters- their chemistry is intense- and with Aiden’s past and the fact that Nael is a merman, Ms. Reis had me hooked right from the get-go! A lot has happened since the first book, but things aren’t about to get any easier as danger mounts- new discoveries are made, taking us on quite a wild ride. This was a bit of a bitter-sweet read for me as I really wanted to find out how everything plays out in the end, but also knowing that this is the final instalment of the series. Gods, goddesses, druids, hidden agendas, discovery, suspense, danger, dramatic developments, sexy details, and wonderful world building all blended together into a captivating story. Looking forward to seeing what Ms. Reis does next. Happy Reading!

Amy McKinley strikes again! One of her shorter novels, Moonlit Whisper: An Irish Romance, this modern contemporary romance was good albeit too short for my liking, as I can never get enough of her writing! Amy is solidifying herself as one of my favorite authors the more I read of her, every book I read I finish wanting more of her!
A classic second chance at romance, Amy does a great job at giving backgrounds to each of the main characters, helping the reader to understand the character and romance between them. I devoured this book in mere hours, much like her other novels, and am excited to read more!
This book was a good one. I have read many books by this author and this one was a good one to spend my weekend reading and made me remember why I like this author so much. Good writing & loveable characters! I will be reading more by her in the future because I can’t get enough of these MC books! Happy Reading!

Deliciously Sinful Liaisons is a hot sexy compilation of seven of L.M. Mountford’s books. These are short excerpts that will leave you wanting more, but oh so satisfied. This is the first book that I have read/listened to by this author, but I’m definitely going to check out more books soon. The narrator is Tia Johnson and she is new to me also. She has a hot sexy voice that really make the characters come to life. This is definitely a hot sizzling read.

Moonlit Kiss : A Venice Romance (Moonlit Destination Series) by Amy McKinley is definitely my favourite of the series, so far. I was drawn into the story from the very beginning and was so absorbed by it that I couldn’t put it down, reading it from beginning to end in one sitting. It is a fantastic romantic suspense, with mystery, sizzle, dramatic developments, intriguing characters, and enticing storyline. I loved the whole mysterious, otherworldly vibe that Ms. McKinley infused into her storyline- it definitely added an extra element of interest to the storyline. I love that Ms. McKinley always manages to up the ante with each new story- creating new and unexpected ways to keep me enthralled. Gianna Bellini can’t believe her luck when she hired to restore a large fresco painting in Venice. She has long dreamed of the city of bridges, and can’t wait for her adventure to begin. As soon as she lands, Gianna can’t help but feel a familiarity that she can’t quite explain. She feels like she’s been there before, but not in this lifetime. Things take an interesting and somewhat mysterious turn, bringing Sergio Vitale into her life. As things heat up, strange things begin to happen. Sinister forces seem to want to direct her fate. I have read a couple of books from this author and she always blows my mind. This is the second book of the black water magic series. You will have to read the first book to understand what is going on in the second book. This book starts off a little after where the first book ends. I was so excited when I got this book I stopped everything and started to read it immediately. I could not put this book down until the end. It only took me a little over a day to devour this addicting book.
Teagan is still trying to get over her grandmother’s death. She still can’t believe that she is gone. Teagan is shocked when she finds out that she has a new witch on her hands. She already has enough on her plate and now she has to teach a teen girl all the rules. Teagan feels a certain way when she hears that a circus is coming to town. She notices that this circus is not run by humans but they are demons. As the Swamp Witch she needs to find out why they are in her town. When Teagan finds out the real reason why they are here she needs her crew but are they with her or against her? Will Teagan be able to save her town or will it be too late?

She does not bother about cleanliness or food and tosses her children from place to place on the basis of her whims and fancies. The story is about how Mary handles her childhood, and adolescence, her school, her relationships and emerges into a fine young woman who can handle things on her own. This is the story of a girl who had to face the turbulent storms and emerge victorious, a mighty and majestic force with her soul in the right place. This book is a beauty and anyone who has weathered a storm can relate to this book.

This book kept me on the edge of my seat, a real page turner, I could not put it down. A little girl named Tally started off with a very sad start, but her mother left her something special. She found courage and bravery to keep going. Tally and her dad went off to India for his work. A time when children were going missing like crazy, Tally finds herself in the middle of all the chaos to find and end this. With the strength to stand up, and with the encouraging words of her angel, some even called her an angel. This book was very good and would recommend it to anyone that loves reading, packed with page turning advents and a little girl that finds a place to call home.

Sergio is at the café when Gianna becomes dizzy and stays with her as she recovers. There is an instant connection that he doesn’t quite understand but he wants to follow where his heart is leading him. As weird occurrences happen around Gianna, he is realizing that the superstitions and folklore of Venice may have more truth to them than her realized.
This book has a supernatural feel to it with the spirits of the past intertwining with the mortals of the present. It made for a unique story that I enjoyed reading. The story wove the two realms together in a romantic, yet eye-opening, way…which made for an entertaining story.

This was an interesting, suspenseful first book in the Ascended Guardians series. It is connected to the Blood Dagger trilogy, which I have not read yet, though with how much I enjoyed this one I might go do! I don’t think you need to read it first, though you might gain some insight into some of the characters.
There are multiple viewpoints, one of which is Zoey, a 15 year old girl still dealing with trauma from 10 years ago. I like the characters – they are not cookie-cutter, or too similar, and the story is engaging. It is interesting to see her journey, and I super look forward to the rest of the series!

Whew! Plot was well-developed and definitely an original storyline with tragic circumstances at the beginning. I was definitely hooked from the first chapter. We get to watch our heroine develop and grow. I really enjoyed getting to know Wraith. I loved the way he was with Sophie. I enjoy stories with multiple characters especially if I know I can look forward to their love stories. I will be reading the next books in the series. The author did a great job of bringing some issues forward that are overlooked when it comes to a disabled or handicapped individual. I’m interested to see if this was something she wanted to do with just this story, or if other stories in this series deal with issues or trauma. Overall, great read!

The Divine Devils is one of the most intense and action packed novels I have ever read. While I have never personally read anything from R. Weir, The Divine Devils was such an amazing read that I will not hesitate to pick up more books from this author. This action packed thriller is filled with everything a reader could hope for including several twists and turns, suspense, crime, and above all adventure that will lead his readers a a wild imaginative ride. Mr. Weir’s characters are well developed and immensely relatable, his narrative is easy to understand, and flows beautifully through the story, and his plot line develops wonderfully through the book. So if your looking for a new author this summer, or even just a new book I highly recommend The Divine Devils by R. Weir.

Krysten Lindsay Hagar brings Hadley to life with true insecurity and shallowness coming off the pages.
Hadley’s best friends moves before the end of her freshman year leaving her in low spirits and realizing that tying oneself to one friend is not ideal. Throw in a couple of mean girls and Hadley is jumping at the chance to go stay with her grandparents for the summer.
Once there she befriends the girl next door who just happens to be an ex Hollywood star. All of a sudden Hadley is hanging out with the popular crowd and even meets a boy that likes her. Pretty soon it all starts to fall apart. Mean, popular girls will always be mean popular girls.
Hagar brings the characters in her book to life with all the real emotions, insecurities, and feelings that all teenagers experience. I’m not sure, since Hager is a new author to me, if this is her first book or not. Some parts were a bit slow and there seemed to be parts that led nowhere, so I don’t know why they seemed to be in the book.
All in all this was a fun, YA read. While it didn’t sweep me away as some, I am excited to read the next installment in Hadley’s life.

Carnival of Shadows: A Teagan Blackwater Urban Fantasy Novel by Leslie Scott is the second book in the Black Water Magic book series. I did not read the first book and I’m sure I missed some important things. I will be reading the fist book in the near future.
What I can say is that this story intrigued me. I quickly connected with Teagan’s grief of her grandmother’s passing. On top of the grief, Teagan is now shouldering the Swamp Witch a position inherited with her grandmother passing. A carnival that opened up in town has added to the mix. This carnival isn’t a normal carnival but brings a large number of evil beings. This story kept my interest and had me reading late into the night.

Moonlit Kiss: A Venice Romance (Moonlit Destination Series) Amy McKinley 4 out of 5 stars
If Amy McKinley wrote it, I am going to read it! I definitely enjoyed Moonlit Kiss but I would be lying if I said that it didn’t take me a bit to get into. Now, don’t get me wrong, I can’t think of a single thing wrong with this book which is a prime example of why I will read anything by this author. I think I just have an attachment to her Gray Ghost series! Moonlit kiss had a lot of great supporting characters that made the story for me! The imagery is enough to transport you on a vacation and once I let myself be transported, I didn’t want to put the book down. Another win for Amy McKinley, 4 out of 5 stars from me.

I loved House in the Woods by Jessica Aiken-Hall. I couldn’t put it down from the first chapter. Lots of twists and turns. I thought I had it all figured out. I wasn’t correct in my guessing. It made it that much better for me, it didn’t feel predictable. I really felt like I was there with the characters. They felt relatable, and like I’ve known them for a long time. I would definitely recommend this to everyone!

This was a quick read. The main characters of Fiona, Connor and Lach are pretty realistic. The 3 grew up together and then Connor moved to America with his mom to escape an abusive dad. But now, he’s back and wants Fiona back. A lot has changed and now Lach is engaged to Fiona. There are nasty little cleat-chasers like Britney causing issues. Will Fiona and Connor be able to rekindle their childhood love? The fairies think they might. It’s a fun and quick read. Amy McKinley doesn’t disappoint. You’ll like this book.
Molly is overwhelmed with her mother’s illness and her father’s anger, while her brother lives elsewhere. She is nineteen and knows she could leave home, but then who would take care of her mother. Her father wants her to be responsible for her mother when she disappears often.
On one such disappearance, Molly will discover a house in the woods. She followed her mother there and becomes fascinated with the house and her mother being there. What she will soon discover will change everything she thought she knew about her family.
This book keeps you trying to figure out each twist and turn to the very end. You think you have an idea of what happened, only for it to be shattered by the next turn of events.

Oh what a web we weave when we deceive! Nadia has woven quite the web when Cade runs into her again several years after she has rescued him from drowning. The spark is still there but secrets are being hidden under the surface. Can this romance hold up once the secrets are out? Is it strong enough to stand? Cade and Nadia are so well-written that you can feel every feeling they have as you read this story. The plot, twisted as it is, kept me on the edge of my seat from page 1.
Twisted Secrets is book 1 of the Deadly Isles Special Ops series by Amy McKinley. This is an action packed, suspenseful romance that keeps you interested is what is going to happen next!
Riley is in grad school working at the local coffee shop. In a relationship that is turning bad, she starts thinking the past is repeating itself. The guy she thought she wanted, isn’t really who he says he is. Xander is a Navy SEAL and is on forced leave. He’s just recovering from an injury after a failed mission and a breakup.
He meets Riley and he can’t help but want to be near her. Can’t keep his mind off of her. He knows that he wants to give a relationship a try, but will she? I like the way that the secondary characters are introduced and weave their own story giving you little hints of what’s to come. There are several little mysteries going on all at once and there is always something lurking around the corner, but will they be ready for them?

I have a bad habit of finding new series but starting out of sequence. This is another case of that but I am not at all put off or feeling a bit out of sense. I found that the author has a very unique batch of characters and find it a really great read.
I really was glued to the pages to see how the story would play out. I found that this was such an easy read that I just got lost in the pages. I felt as though I was right there in the midst of the action. I like how even though it is a paranormal book the characters just seemed real and jumped off of the pages. The author has a great way to grab the reader and keep you hooked. I will definitely read more from this author in future.
