Elusive: Dark Billionaire Mafia Romance (Billionaire Bodyguards Book 5) by Via Mari – Review by Karyn Taylor

Elusive (Billionaire Bodyguards #5)Elusive by Via Mari
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Elusive is the 5th book in the outstanding Billionaire Bodyguards series by Via Mari. I’ve been a huge fan of Via Mari’s work for some time but I have to say that this is my favourite series of her. Rather than being the billionaires who have everything at their fingertips, these are the elite team of guys who are hired to look after the billionaires and their families. Each book in the series can be read as a stand-alone.
In Elusive we get the story of bodyguard Sheldon who is given the job of keeping Alexis safe from an evil human trafficker who is stalking her. The attraction between them is off the charts but can Alexis allow herself to become involved with another dominant man after a very bad experience with one in the past. Sheldon will do everything to get Alexis to see how she is the perfect submissive for him and that she can trust him never to hurt her.
I loved reading Sheldon and Alexis’ story. Although submissive, Alexis is also very sassy and this makes for some very entertaining moments in the book.
In typical Via Mari style this book is very steamy and the sex scenes are hot as hell. I was pulled into this book from the very first chapter and it kept me entertained throughout, not just with the sex scenes but the over all story is filled with drama, danger and intrigue that will keep the reader hooked.
Definitely recommend.

Sons of Sindicato (Sons of Sindicato ) by Cam Johns & Sonya Jesus – Review by Karyn Taylor

Sons of Sindicato (Sons of Sindicato #0)Sons of Sindicato by Cam Johns
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Sons of Sindicato is the first book in the Sons of Sindicato series by Cam Johns and Sonya Jesus. If this book is anything to go by then this is going to be an amazing series. I had not read any previous work by these two authors so was unsure what to expect from Sons of Sindicato. This isn’t a full length novel, it’s a novella that introduces you to the players in the series and gives you the story of Seth and Shaw.
I loved Seth and Shaw’s story. I was hooked from the very first chapter and was drawn further and further into the story as it progressed. It’s action packed from the very start and keeps you entertained and on edge throughout.
If you like to read about feuding Mafia families then this is the book for you. It’s a trope that I really enjoy reading and I’m so glad that I chose to read this book. It really does set you up for what could be a very explosive series.
I really can’t wait to read more from this series.

Luce Eterna: Part 1 (The Luminara Series Book 5) by SJ Molloy – Review by Karyn Taylor

Luce Eterna: Part 1: Book 5, The Luminara SeriesLuce Eterna: Part 1: Book 5, The Luminara Series by S.J. Molloy
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

WOW!!!… I don’t really know what to say about Luce Eterna Part One. My brain is totally scrambled and my emotions are all over the place. I’ll need some time to recover from this book. SJ Molloy was new to me until I discovered this series and now I can’t give her enough praise for this amazing series. This has definitely been the most powerful, emotional book of the series so far.
This book is so different from the first 4 books in that the tables have totally turned for Lucca and Lexi. Lexi has struggled with major anxiety due to a horrifying childhood and Lucca has totally been her rock, the person who grounded her. Now Lexi has recently given birth prematurely to twins and is excited to start a life as a family when their world is turned upside down. Surprisingly Lexi is the strong one who takes charge while Lucca totally falls apart. My emotions were all over the place. One minute I felt heart sorry for Lucca, then in a blink I wanted to kick his butt and tell him to get a grip. On the other hand sometimes I loved Lexi and other times I wanted her to calm down and just give Lucca a hug. I didn’t know which side I was on. It changed from page to page.
This is a deep and dark book, like the previous books in the series. I recommend that you have some tissues handy as this book is heartbreaking. I really can’t wait to read the climax of this amazing story.

THE DEVOTED FAN (21ST Century Courtesan Book 5) by Pamela DuMond writing as P. S. DuMond – Review by Karyn Taylor

THE DEVOTED FANTHE DEVOTED FAN by Pamela DuMond
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

The Devoted Fan is the 5th and final book in the 21st Century Courtesan series by Pamela DuMond. I wouldn’t advise reading this series as standalones. It will read and flow better if read as a series in order. I have loved this series so far and couldn’t wait for Evie to finally get her HEA. I had hoped for a while that it would be with Wyatt but that was not to be. When Wyatt passed away I then hoped she’d find her true one in Wyatt’s brother Easton. Will Evie finally get a HEA?
I really loved this book. Evie is troubled with coming to terms with Wyatt’s death and her growing feeling for his brother Easton. Although Wyatt did make it clear that this is what he wanted for Evie once he passed.
There’s a lot of drama and intrigue in this book with ‘the devoted fan’ becoming more and more deranged and no longer ‘devoted’ placing Evie in a great deal of danger.
This is a great book which ties up all the loose ends from the whole series, including long time boyfriend Dylan. It’s all brought to a dangerous and exciting conclusion that I was totally engrossed in.
Loved this book and loved the whole series. Definitely recommend The Devoted Fan.

Walker Pride (The Walker Family Series Book 1) by Bernadette Marie – Review by Karyn Taylor

Walker Pride (The Walker Family, #1)Walker Pride by Bernadette Marie
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Walker Pride is the first book in the Walker Family Series by Bernadette Marie. I had only previously read 1 book by this author but I had really enjoyed it and was looking forward to reading the start of a new series.
I really enjoyed this first book. This could end up being a very long series as the Walkers are one very big family and I’m sure all will have great stories to tell. AS the book continued more and more siblings, cousins etc were added to the clan.
In this book we get the story of the Eldest brother Eric. At risk of losing everything he has worked for due to a bet made by his Uncle, he’s determined to do everything possible to save his house and livelihood. He doesn’t have room for distractions but can’t help be extremely distracted by the beautiful Susan Hayes, the caterer at his Grandfather’s funeral.
I adored Eric and Susan’s story. There is so much more than just a romance story in this book. There is danger, drama and intrigue as well as feuding families. Susan and Eric are both great characters to read and I could have read about the two of them for hours and hours. This story was highly entertaining and keeps you gripped to the storyline to see what happens next.
Definitely recommend.

Luminoso (The Luminara Series, Book 4) by SJ Molloy – Review by Karyn Taylor

Luminoso (Luminara, #4)Luminoso by S.J. Molloy
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Luminoso is the 4th book in the amazing Luminara Series by SJ Molloy. I have absolutely adored this series so far and Luminoso was my favourite of the series up to now. This book is not to be read as a standalone, the series must be read in order. This book, as with the others in the series comes with a trigger warning as it contains dark and highly emotive material.
As I said, this has been my favourite in the series so far. Most of this book takes place in Tuscany and I just love reading about all the family times that Lucca and Lexi have there. Gamily is such an important theme running through this series and we see much more of it in this book as everyone has to stick together against the threat of Michael Parks.
As well as the happy family times, there are also many dark times as Lexi and her mother struggle with their mental health and we also see cracks appearing in Lucca as he struggles to keep everyone safe. He takes everyone’s worries on as well as his own and it’s beginning to affect him.
The finale to this book is amazing and I felt that I forgot to breathe at times. It just has everything. The drama is outstanding and will have you on the edge of your seat.
I cannot recommend this book and this series enough. I have absolutely loved every book so far and I’m so glad that I have the 5th book Luce Eterna Part One on my kindle as I really need to know what’s in store next for Lucca, Lexi and the family.

Love by Design (The Meraki Series Book 2) by Effie Kammenou – Review by Karyn Taylor

Love by Design (The Meraki series, #2)Love by Design by Effie Kammenou
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Love By Design is the 2nd book in the Meraki Series by Effie Kammenou. I loved the first book Love Is What You Bake Of It so was looking forward to reading this one. I think I loved this one even more than the first.
In this book we get the story of Kally from the first book’s sister Mia. Mia has just been given a promotion and her new boss is Nicholas, the man she has crushed on for ages but she really doesn’t like the Nicholas who she starts working with.
I thoroughly enjoyed Mia and Nicholas’ story. As with the first book, I loved the family dynamic that is portrayed. Family is very important to both Mia and Nicholas and they paly a large role within the story.
I really enjoyed watching the relationship of Mia and Nicholas evolve from the 2 of them fighting over absolutely every little thing to them working together as a fantastic team, both in and out of work.
This really is a great read, I was hooked from the very beginning and was entertained from beginning to end and I now look forward to see what Effie Kammenou has in store for the Kally and Mia’s little sister and Loukas. Judging by what we have seen of the 2 of them together so far, it’s going to be another great read.

My Lips Are Sealed (Sealed With a Kiss Book 1) by Carmen Richter – Review by Karyn Taylor

My Lips Are Sealed (Sealed With a Kiss #1)My Lips Are Sealed by Carmen Richter
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

My Lips Are Sealed is the first book in the Sealed With A Kiss series by Carmen Richter. This is the first time I have read anything by this author and it certainly wont be the last. I absolutely LOVED this book and really want to read more of this series right now. The first three books in the series are Zoe’s story and should be read in order.
How would you feel if, after your boyfriend going missing, the first time you go out and enjoy yourself, you meet someone you connect with on a major level, only to go to school the next day and find out he’s your new drama teacher? Well that’s what happened to Zoe.
Will Zoe and Elijah do the ‘right’ thing and not see each other or will they continue to see one another as the connection between them is so strong?
This is a fantastic story that I just devoured and did not want to put down. This book has it all. There is fun and laughter and on the other hand there’s despair and devastation. If you are human and don’t have a swinging brick for a heart then you are likely to need tissues to get through this book.
Zoe and Elijah are both amazing characters and this book has a great group of secondary characters, including Zoe’s twin River, who add a great deal to the story line.
I cannot wait to see what Carmen Richter has in store next for Zoe.

Bovine Tricks (Royals Gone Rogue Book 1) by Seelie Kay – Review by Karyn Taylor

Bovine TricksBovine Tricks by Seelie Kay
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Bovine Tricks was the first time I had read and of Seelie Kay’s work and I’m quite lost for words on how to describe my reading of this book. I can honestly say that I have never read anything even remotely like Bovine Tricks.
MISix Agent Tillie Spencer has been requested by the Queen to find a missing relative. It seems that Lady Annabelle is living life as a cow. Yes, you read that right…a cow! In this book there are people, some willingly and some unwillingly, who are living as a cow. Medication is provided for them to produce milk and surgery is given to change their bodies to have teats and udders.
This books is a funny read as we join Tillie and her partner, in life and in work, Agent Abdul Ali as the go on a mission to find Lady Annabel. I can assure you this book will entertain you as they visit auctions to bid on ‘cows’ and interact with some of them.
This is not a long book so if you are looking for a couple of hours of fun entertainment then you should give Bovine Tricks a try.

Date Night by KM Lowe – Review by Karyn Taylor

Date NightDate Night by K.M. Lowe
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Date Night is a cute and quirky romance novella by K.M. Lowe. I had never read any of this author’s work before but as this book is set in my home city of Glasgow, I just had to read it. I’m so glad that I read this book as I loved the tour of Glasgow that we get in the book. I loved being able to picture restaurants, bars and landmarks that are mentioned in the book and I felt that this made me enjoy the book much more.
Added to the location, I loved the 2 main characters. Hannah hates Valentine’s Day as it holds bad memories for her. So being asked to design a valentine’s themed opening night for Kyle Randall’s latest project did not fill her with enthusiasm.
I really enjoyed reading Hannah and Kyle’s story. They’ve done business together for a few years but have never actually met and when they do meet, the sparks are flying.
This novella is fun and entertaining and well worth reading. I’d definitely recommend this book.

The Earl and the Peahen (The Scarlet Salon Book 5) by Jean Wilde – Review by Karyn Taylor

The Earl and the PeahenThe Earl and the Peahen by Jean Wilde
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

The Earl and The Peahen is the 5th book in the Scarlet Salon series by Jean Wilde. Each book contains a complete story and can be read as a standalone. My first reading of Jean Wilde’s writing was the 4th book in this series and was not missing any necessary information.
In this book we meet Jane Mayfield, who at 25 is still unmarried and possible set for life as a spinster. When a countess offers to chaperone her for the season in London, she is determined to find a suitable husband before it is too late.
Alexander Gordon, Earl of Norwich has decided that it’s time to settle down and find a bride and to his shock and surprise finds himself thinking of the plain Jane he met who was extremely rude to him.
Needless to say that the path to true love never runs smooth but I absolutely adored Jane and Alexander’s story. There’s plenty of funny moments, drama and intrigue, and as is the norm with a regency novel, there is some scandalous moments too, all of which amounted to a novel that I thoroughly enjoyed.
If you like a good regency romp then I definitely recommend that you read The Earl and The Peahen.

Relentless: Dark Billionaire Mafia Romance (Billionaire Bodyguards Book 4) by Via Mari – Review by Karyn Taylor

RelentlessRelentless by Via Mari
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Relentless is the 4th book in the amazing Billionaire Bodyguards series by Via Mari. I have become a huge fan of Via Mari over the last couple of years and I absolutely love the Billionaire Bodyguards series.
Relentless takes place at the same time as the previous book Auctioned and there is a bit of overlap with the events that take place. It is as fact paced and gripping as Auctioned was. I think this is my favourite series of Via Mari that I have read so far and the only series I haven’t read yet is the Prestian series.
We met Layla in Auctioned as she tried to help Bryanna. This time it’s Layla’s turned to be ‘rescued’ by Dereck. I really loved Layla and Dereck’s story. It is most certainly not a love at first sight story as Layla pretty much hated Dereck and did everything possible to get him out of her life. Many of their earlier exchanges are extremely funny as she continually puts him down. He just doesn’t know how to deal with a female that doesn’t fall at his feet.
This book is filled with drama, intrigue, suspense and, as expected with Via Mari, some pretty hot sexy times that you may need a fan to cool off.
I really can’t wait to read more of this series and I’m so glad that I already have the next book Elusive waiting on my kindle for me to dive into.

THE HUSBAND (21ST Century Courtesan #4) by Pamela DuMond writing as P. S. DuMond – Review by Karyn Taylor

HUSBAND (21st Century Courtesan Book 4)HUSBAND by Pamela DuMond
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

The Husband is the 4th book in the excellent 21st Century Courtesan series by Pamela DuMond. I have been a fan of this series since the first book and was excited to get to read the next instalment in Evie’s story.
In The Husband, Evie is grieving over the death of the love of her life Wyatt, who she married when he was dying, but is confused over her feelings for Wyatt’s brother Easton. Added to the mix is her long term boyfriend Dylan, as if her life wasn’t complicated enough.
I really loved reading the next instalment of Evie’s story, although I still haven’t come to term with Wyatt’s death. I really hoped that Wyatt would be the man that Evie finally has her happily ever after with but Pamela DuMond has other ideas. I really can’t wait to read the final book in the series to see who finally captures Evie’s heart for good.
We get more from Evie’s ‘devoted fan’ in this book and they give away several clues as to their identity which I’m sure will also be revealed in the final book.
I’m now rooting for Easton to be the man who finally ensnares Evie. I love the two of them together and their interactions are hot and steamy which is fun to read.
This is a great addition to this series. However, I would not advise reading this book without reading the other first as I think this book would be too confusing to read as a standalone.

The Luminara Series: Box Set – Volume 1 (Lussuria – L’amore – Lucca’s Lust) by SJ Molloy – Review by Karyn Taylor

The Luminara Series: Box Set Volume 1: Lussuria - L'amore -Lucca's LustThe Luminara Series: Box Set Volume 1: Lussuria – L’amore -Lucca’s Lust by S.J. Molloy
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

The Luminara Boxed Set by SJ Molloy contains the first 3 books in the Luminara series by SJ Molloy. It contains the full length novels; Lussaria, L’Amore and Lucca’s Lust. I had never read and of SJ Molloy’s work but the blurb of the boxed set had me very intrigued and looking forward to reading these 3 books. I am so glad that I chose to read these books as they totally captivated me and had me hooked from the very first pages.
This series is definitely for those aged 18+ due to the adult nature of the content. It should also be stressed that these books could be triggers for some due to some of the darker content.
The Luminara series is dark, very sensual and erotic and a fantastic read. Lucca and Lexi are amazing characters that I loved reading about. Lexi had a very traumatic childhood and has never gotten over the horrors that she had to endure as a child. Lucca is totally enchanted with Lexi and is determined to be the man to heal her.
I absolutely adored Lucca and loved that we got to revisit some of the story from his POV in Lucca’s Lust. It made a huge different getting to know his past, his own demons and what makes Lucca tick.
I really can’t wait to read the 4th book in this series and I’m so glad to already have it on my kindle waiting for me as I really can’t wait to see what’s in store next for Lucca and Lexi.

Queen Of My Heart (Life Won’t Wait Book 1) by Nikki Lynn Barrett – Review by Karyn Taylor

Queen Of My Heart (Life Won't Wait Book 1)Queen Of My Heart by Nikki Lynn Barrett
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Queen Of My Heart is the first book in the Life Won’t Wait series by Nikki Lynn Barrett. It is a great contemporary romance novel that I thoroughly enjoyed reading. It’s not the first time that I had read this author’s work so I knew that i was putting myself in safe hands.
I have to say that I’m a sucker for a fake marriage book so was really looking forward to reading this book. Quinn and Tucker just grabbed hold of my heart straight away and kept a tight grip throughout. I loved both characters and was rooting for them to have the HEA that they both deserved.
I’m also a sucker for a cute kid in a book and Tucker’s niece is totally adorable. I loved that she couldn’t say Quinn’s name so she called her Queen. A total scene stealer.
One of my big passions in life, after reading, is music and I loved that this book is set in the music world. We get to see a bit of the good and the bad about life in the music world. It’s not all sunshine and roses.
I really enjoyed Queen of my Heart and look forward to reading more of this series.

Seductive Prey (Relentless #1) by Vivian Fiano – Review by Karyn Taylor

Seductive Prey (Relentless #1)Seductive Prey by Vivian Fiano
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

SO, you’ve read the blurb and you know that this is the first book in a trilogy and it leaves you with a cliffhanger, so why are you so stupid as to wonder what the hell happened at the end of the book when you didn’t get a nice lovely happily ever after? Yeah, that silly sod was me reading Seductive Prey by Vivian Fiano. Arghhhhh I want book 2 now!
I absolutely loved Seductive Prey. It had me totally hooked on the story from the very beginning and had still got me firmly in it’s grip and I want to know what’s happening next with Grant Summers and Jordan Smith.
Jordan and Grant are both amazing characters and I really can’t wait to learn more about them. I completely fell in love with both characters during this book.
This book has got a bit of everything that I love in a book. You’ve got some hot sizzling romance, added with danger, intrigue and mystery that keeps you turning page after page after page.
I think I’ve changed my mind about 4 times as to who Jordan’s stalker is and knowing my awful powers of working out where an author is taking a story it’s likely to be none of them.
Definitely worth the 5 stars I’ve given it!

Spiteful Punks: dolls and douchebags part one by Madeline Fay – Review by Karyn Taylor

Spiteful Punks: dolls and douchebags part oneSpiteful Punks: dolls and douchebags part one by Madeline Fay
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Spiteful Punks: Dolls and Douchebags part one is a dark and emotional reverse harem novel from Madeline Fay. I had never read any of Madeline Fay’s work before reading this but I was intrigued by the blurb and decided to give it a try. I’m glad I did as I enjoyed this book and I’m looking forward to reading the rest of the series.
I would definitely say that this book is for age 18+ due to some of the more adult content in it. There is also the chance that this book could be a trigger for some.
Tillie has had one hell of an upbringing. She grew up with an MC club where her father was the Prez. A father, who did nothing to protect her, in fact he betrayed her in the most horrible way as soon as she turned 16.
This start to this book really drew me in and had me hooked straight away. I was desperate to know how Tillie would cope with her life. When she manages to escape from the MC club her life takes a turn that you would never expect. Tillie is now drawn into a whole new world and some of it makes for hard reading.
I feel we are just starting to get to know Tillie as a person when this first book in the series comes to and end and I’m eager to read what the author has in store next for Tillie.

In Over Her Head: Lights, Camera, Anxiety (The Cecily Taylor Series Book 2) by Krysten Lindsay Hager – Review by Karyn Taylor

In Over Her Head: Lights, Camera, Anxiety (The Cecily Taylor Series #2)In Over Her Head: Lights, Camera, Anxiety by Krysten Lindsay Hager
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

In Over Her Head: Lights, Camera, Anxiety is the 2nd book in the young adult Cecily Taylor series by Krysten Lindsay Hager. I really enjoyed the first book in this series and was looking forward to seeing what was in store next for Cecily and Andrew.
This is a really great young adult romance book, which is also suitable for older adults like myself who enjoy and good romance novel.
One thing I love so much about this series of books is the way that the subject of anxiety is so well dealt with. I, myself suffer from crippling anxiety and can relate so much to Andrew’s character but even more so to Cecily; always assuming the worst when you don’t get a reply to a text, seeing the worst in every situation. This totally resonates with me and I really hope that many young adults, those suffering from anxiety and also those who do not, would gain a great deal by reading this book. Not everything in life is rosy for everyone. Some people struggle to get from one day to the next and this book does a great job of dealing with this issue.
I also loved seeing Cecily start to bloom into a more confident version of herself, going out of her comfort zone at times to help achieve her dreams.
This is a great book which I would definitely recommend.

Alpha Bet Guys Boxed Set by Phoebe Alexander – Review by Karyn Taylor

Alpha Bet Guys Boxed SetAlpha Bet Guys Boxed Set by Phoebe Alexander
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

The Alpha Bet Guys Boxed Set is a collection of 5 novellas from one of my favourite writers, Phoebe Alexander. Before reading the whole boxed set, I had previously read A Hole, the first story in this boxed set but I read it again to get the full flow of all 5 stories.
This is a collection of stories about 5 friends who have moved back to Philadelphia and live together in 2 adjacent penthouses. The five guys are Ace, Ozzy, Dante, Fox and Cruz and each guys gets his own story. The common theme among them, is in that each book the guys place a bet relating to the love life of the hero of that book.
I really loved this set of books. The guys are all lovable in their own ways but what I really love is the message that Phoebe Alexander gets across in these book, as with many of her books and that is the body positive image. The women that these guys date and form relationships with are not skinny glamazons. They are everyday women who carry a few extra pound and have curves. As a woman who has more than a few curves I love reading Phoebe Alexander’s work. It’s not only the tall, thin stunning blondes who fall in love with the good guys. This message is put across more so in the final book where we get the story of aging model Cruz, where he and his aging lady model friend rebel against the airbrushed perfect look everyone is trying to achieve.
Like all Phoebe Alexander books, you get some amazing ‘sexy times’ in these books. She sure knows how to write a hot love scene!!

The SEAL’s Temptation (Wounded Hearts Book 7) by Jacquie Biggar – Review by Karyn Taylor

The SEAL's Temptation (Wounded Hearts #7)The SEAL’s Temptation by Jacquie Biggar
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

The SEAL’s Temptation is the 7th book in the Wounded Hearts series by Jacquie Biggar. Each book in the series can be read as a stand-alone. Although I have read some of Jacquie Biggar’s books, I had not read any of this series. I did at times feel as though I’d be better informed if I’d read previous books as I felt that I was missing some information that may have helped me better understand what a character had gone through.
In saying that, I did enjoy this book. I particularly liked the characters of Frank and Maggie. I’d like to have known more about Maggie’s background but I knew enough to know that she’d gone through a horrific time previous to this book.
I loved how Frank was with her; Patient, supportive and very loyal. Frank is also a great character. He’s well respected by all those around him, all of whom look up to him as if he’s some sort of God.
The story is well written and it was pulled into the story from the very beginning and continued to enjoy it throughout the whole book.
I feel as if I now need to go and read some of the previous books, not just to fill in some information but as I think I’d enjoy them a great deal too.

Scorching Hot Mess by Brooke May – Review by Karyn Taylor

Scorching Hot MessScorching Hot Mess by Brooke May
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Scorching Hot Mess is a great romantic comedy from Brooke May. I have read, and enjoyed, a few of her other books so was looking forward to reading this one.
So glad that I read this book as I really enjoyed it. It’s funny and quirky and will entertain you from start to end.
Poor Willow has no luck when it comes to love so when a drunken night leads her to have four napkins with phone numbers on them, her best friend pushes her to meet these men and have some fun.
We all need a friend like Willow. She’s funny and quirky and a very loyal friend. My one moan about this book is Willow’s friend. I found her to controlling and pushy. I wouldn’t be able to cope with a friend like that. Luckily Willow knows how to deal with her.
I also adored Gun. He’s such a strong, dependable and caring man. I was captivated by him straight away and was hoping that Willow was going to have some fun with him.
If you’re up for an enjoyable, fun romance then Scorching Hot Mess is definitely the book for you. Give it a try!!

Twisted Throttle (Satan’s Devils MC Second Generation #3) by Manda Mellett – Review by Karyn Taylor

Twisted Throttle (Satan's Devils MC Second Generation #3)Twisted Throttle by Manda Mellett
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Twisted Throttle is the 3rd book in the Satan’s Devils MC 2nd Generation series by Manda Mellett. This series sees us get the stories of the children of the first group of Satan’s Devils we got to know. Throttle, our hero in this book is the son of Peg from Peg’s Stand.
I’ve been a huge fan of Manda Mellett’s books since I first discovered the Satan’s Devils and it amazes me that she continues to come up with new stories for each of the guys and the books never get repetitive. She must have one helluva imagination to continue to give us new stories.
One thing I love is that Manda Mellett takes some really dark subjects including depression (Hawk’s Cry) and in this book you get one massive shock when the book takes a turn that you would never expect. I’m not going to give any spoilers, you’ll have to read this book to see what I mean. Prepare to be shocked!
Another thing I will say is that you will totally fall in love with Throttle and Gwen and will be rooting for them to get their deserved HEA. Their story is amazing and I was hooked from the very beginning right up to that shocking end.
On another note, if you have read any of the first generation Satan’s Devils then you will love seeing the guys as older men with grown up children.

Jordan’s Shadow by T.R. Cupak – Review by Karyn Taylor

Jordan's ShadowJordan’s Shadow by T.R. Cupak
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I’m at a total loss for where to start discussing Jordan’s Shadow by T.R. Cupak. This book has literally spit me out and left me wondering what the hell happened. I hadn’t read any of this author’s work before so was unsure what to expect. For a start, I should have taken much more notice of the blurb which states that this book is not about love or a happily ever after.
This book is dark and deep and extremely thought provoking. It can be very hard reading at times and could be a trigger to some.
Jordan is a truly amazing character. She has had the most awful upbringing and is struggling in a life full of drugs and sex. Can The Shadow be her salvation and saviour. The Shadow also has a story to tell but he worries that Jordan would hate him if she knew the truth.
It’s hard to write much about the book without giving spoilers but I will say that it’s very dark, emotional and heartbreaking. For those who tend to have a good cry at raw, emotional stories, you will most likely need tissues to get through this book. It’s tough going but it’s most definitely worth the effort. Although it just might break you in the process.

Forged by Secrets is the 3rd book in the Deadly Isles Special Ops series by Amy McKinley. I have been a fan of Amy McKinley for a long time now and have loved the first two books in this series and was looking forward to the third Hale brother, Tyler getting his book. And what a book he got! This is a fantastic book.
I need to say that when you think you have things worked out about how a book is going to go then you can be sure that Amy McKinley is going to do something different. There’s one particular part in this book that had me with my jaw hanging to the floor. Nope. I’m not giving any spoilers. You’ll have to read it to find out what I mean.
I absolutely loved Tyler and Malina’s story. Tyler is now a Navy SEAL and Malina is an analyst who works with the Navy SEALs. Previously they had gone to high school together and Malina had a huge crush on Tyler but she knows he’s not relationship material so tries to keep away from him.
As always with Amy McKinley there is so much more than the romance going on in this book. She writes amazing storylines that have you hooked from the very first chapter, right up to the very last and Forged By Secrets is no different to the rest. I loved the whole storyline of this book.
If you’ve never read Amy McKinley or you’re just thinking about trying this book then I urge you to give it a try. It’s well worth it.

Auctioned (Billionaire Bodyguards Book 3) by Via Mari – Review by Karyn Taylor

Auctioned (Billionaire Bodyguards Book 3)Auctioned by Via Mari
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Auctioned is the 3rd book in the Billionaire Bodyguards series by Via Mari. This is a spin off from her other series’ where we get the stories of the bodyguards who work for the billionaires who starred in previous series by the author. I’m a huge fan of her work having read all but the Prestian affair series of her work. Something I plan to remedy in the future.
I’m always excited to get a new book from Via Mari to read, but to get one with the gorgeous Kamil Nizinksi on the cover is a definite added bonus. I was able to picture him as Damian as I read this book. When Damian is assigned to find missing virgin Bryanna who has been caught up in a human trafficking ring his life is about to change.
I loved Damian and Bryanna’s story. As with all Via Mari’s books, it is hot and steamy and a fantastic read. These two characters are perfect for one another. Damian is a Dominant, whereas Bryanna is submissive and she wants to be dominated by Damian.
This isn’t just the romance story between Damian and Bryanna, there is so much more going on in this book that will keep you hooked to this book and not want to put it down. Via Mari sure knows how to write a fantastic storyline that will have you entertained from the very first page right up to the last. A must read!

Loyalty & Lies (Spicetopia Book 6) by Phoebe Alexander – Review by Karyn Taylor

Loyalty & LiesLoyalty & Lies by Phoebe Alexander
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Loyalty & Lies is the 6th book in the fantastic, steamy Spicetopia series by Phoebe Alexander. Spicetopia is an ‘anything goes’ adult theme park and they really do mean that anything goes. I have loved the 5 books in this series so far and I also loved Calvin and Paisley’s original story in the Eastern Shores Swingers Series which is where I first discovered Phoebe Alexander’s great books. I was really looking forward to reading the next instalment in Calvin and Paisley’s story and hoping it wasn’t as dramatic as their original story.
Well, it was just as dramatic if not even more, but it was totally hooked to the story and loved it so much. As hot and steamy as Phoebe Alexander’s books are, and this one is no different (it’s very HOT) there is so much more to this book than just the hot sex.
There is a whole lot more going on at Spicetopia than meets the eye and Calvin and Paisley find themselves at the centre of some major drama.
I also loved getting an insight into the 5 couples from the previous Spicetopia books and seeing a snippet of where their lives are now.
I really hope that Phoebe Alexander continues with the series as I’m a huge fan of it. Would definitely recommend Loyalty & Lies.

Secure Her (The Chase Security Series Book 4) by R.L. Dunn – Review by Karyn Taylor

Secure Her (Chase Security #4)Secure Her by R.L. Dunn
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Secure Her is the 4th book in the fantastic Chase Security Series by R.L. Dunn. This is a series that has had me hooked from the very beginning of the first book and I was excited to get another instalment. Was I disappointed? Not a chance. I absolutely loved this book. I was hooked from start to finish. I also loved getting a chance to see the guys from the previous books and seeing what these guys are up to now.
Secure Her is the story of Zach ‘Ice’ Wentworth, Head of Domestic Law Enforcement for Chase Security. Given the job of trying to infiltrate a human trafficking ring, Zach has to train US Attorney Saoirse to be his submissive in order to bring down the ring.
I loved this book, the dynamic between Zach and Saoirse is amazing and I loved reading their story. The whole storyline flows really well and keeps you enthralled as the story unfolds.
I’ve said before about this series of books but it amazes me that the author can keep up with all the different characters. There is a huge list of characters that make up this book, and the others in the series and I know I found it hard to keep track of who is who. It certainly doesn’t affect my enjoyment though as these books are so well written that you can’t help but be on the edge of your seat, scared to turn the page to see what happens next.
I’d definitely recommend Secure Her and the rest of this series. All worth more than 5 stars each in my humble opinion.

10 Days by KJ Holliday – Review by Karyn Taylor

10 Days10 Days by KJ Holliday
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

10 Days is a funny, contemporary romance by KJ Holliday. It was the first time that I had read any of this author’s work but I was pulled in by the blurb and decided to give it a try. What I got was a really great book that I enjoyed and would recommend to others.
Alexander is looking for material from his second novel so his best friends Luke and Penny drag him away for 10 days living with nature. Could he think of anything worse? Nope, but he was willing to give it a try.
I loved the dynamic between the 3 friends. Luke and Penny have been friends since childhood with Alexander added to the group 7 years previously at college.
What Alexander didn’t expect was to grow to love living outdoors and being at one with nature. What he really didn’t expect was that Penny who he’d had a crush on for years, felt the same about him.
This made for some fun scenes as they tried to keep their growing relationship a secret from Luke. How hard can it be when the 3 of you are living in the one tent? Lol
I really did enjoy this book and would definitely read more from this author in the future. The book had me hooked from the very beginning and kept me entertained throughout.

Can Dreams Come True? (The Cecily Taylor Series Book 1) by Krysten Lindsay Hager – Review by Karyn Taylor

Can Dreams Come True? (The Cecily Taylor Series Book 1)Can Dreams Come True? by Krysten Lindsay Hager
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Can Dreams Come True? is the first book in the Cecily Taylor series by Krysten Lindsay Hager. Before reading this I had not read any of this author’s work but I was attracted by the blurb and decided to give the book a go. I’m glad that I did as I enjoyed this book.
Cecily is the typical girl nest door. She’s sweet, hardworking and loyal to her friends. She also adores her boyfriend Zach. She does however have a major crush on pop star Andrew Holiday. So when her friend gets an audition for Andrew’s next video, Cecily goes along to give her support. Only Cecily is exactly what the video makers are looking for.
I really loved reading about Cecily and Andrew. Both are great characters that I could easily identify with. I really enjoyed their interactions with one another, seeing their friendship develop as they both just ‘get’ each other.
I have to admit that I was not a fan of Cecily’s friend who she went to the audition with or Cecily’s boyfriend Zach. Andrew understood her better in the space of a few minutes than 2 of her best ‘friends’ ever would.
I really enjoyed this book. The main characters are great and the story flows along well, keeping you entertained. I’m looking forward to reading more and Cecily and Andrew’s story.

The Executive’s Decision (The Keller Family Series Book 1) by Bernadette Marie – Review by Karyn Taylor

The Executive's Decision (Keller Family, #1)The Executive’s Decision by Bernadette Marie
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

The Executive’s Decision is the first book in the Keller Family series by Bernadette Marie. This was my first time reading any of this author’s work and I’m so glad that I took a chance on this book as I thoroughly enjoyed it. It is a contemporary romance set in Nashville Tennessee.
I really loved the dynamic of the Keller family. The siblings and their parents have so much love for each other and the support that they all have for each other is very heartwarming. I’m really looking forward to reading more from this family and getting to know the other sibling better.
In The Executive’s Decision we get the story of Regan Keller who is still coming to terms with the breakup from her previous boss. The last thing she needs is to fall in love with her new boss. It would be a very bad idea, or would it?
Zachary (Zach) Benson is used to getting what he wants, and he really wants Regan and can’t understand why she so adamant about not having a relationship with him.
I really loved the dynamic between Regan and Zach. Their chemistry is amazing and I was pulled into their story from the very beginning and taken on a journey that I really enjoyed. I’m looking forward to reading more from this series, in particular I really want to read Carlos’ story.
