Blood Oath (Mafia Elite, book 2) by Amy McKinley – Review by Katie Kearney

Blood Oath (Mafia Elite, #2)Blood Oath by Amy McKinley
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Blood Oath: A Friends to Lovers Mafia Romance (Mafia Elite Book 2) by Amy McKinley. No sure how many can relate but I usually have a bit of a hard time changing to a different couple’s storyline within a series. I just think I fall so hard for one set of characters it takes me a bit of mental break to move on. But I have to say I didn’t have that this time. Don’t get me wrong I’m still totally hooked on book ones characters and they still have my heart in a grip. But this author has a way of just making you so excited to see where the series is heading. And I was definitely eager to get Enzo and Sofia’s story. These two captured my heart just as easily. Their chemistry is everything you need in a story it jumps off the pages and they truly bring the story to life. I highly recommend reading this series in order to get the biggest impact of the overall storyline. It’s well written and everything I was looking for in a book two. Way to hit it way out of the park! So excited to see where this series goes next! Five of the biggest stars I can give! Highly recommended!

The Groomsman (Unexpected Series – Book 2) by Marina Hanna – Review by Katie Kearney

The GroomsmanThe Groomsman by Marina Hanna
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

The Groomsman by MARINA HANNA. This author is newer to me but I’m definitely glad I found her. This story pulled me in so quickly I read it all in one sitting and enjoyed every minute of it. From page one I could feel the connection forming between our main characters. I’m a sucker for a one night stand hopefully becoming more kind of story. There’s plenty of steam in this book but it’s not overwhelming I think the author writes it very well. The characters draw you into their world easily and you’ll barely notice the time passing in the real world. I can’t wait to see where where this author takes readers next. It’s well written and paced nicely never feeling rushed or lacking. Four big stars and highly recommended!

No Way Out (Mafia Elite, #1)No Way Out by Amy McKinley
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

No Way Out: An Arranged Marriage Mafia Romance (Mafia Elite Book 1) by Amy McKinley. This author never fails to leave me missing her characters. I’m very much in a mafia type of story frame of mind these days. And As always this author delivers everything I was looking for. The main characters in this story had my heart from page one but what really makes this story above the rest is that all the characters have something unique to bring with them to the storyline. I’ve read tons of books this year but I’ll be honest Liliana may just be my favorite female main character yet. Her and her relationship with her best friends is perfect and I loved my time with them. She’s totally kick butt and I just love her. If you’re looking for a story to get lost in look no further! Five huge stars and highly recommended!

Forever: A Diamond Doms Novel by Ivy Nelson. Ok first things first I personally recommend reading this series in order. One because you truly don’t want to miss any of the other books and two because it flows better that way. I went back and ended up just binging the entire series and I have absolutely zero regrets on my lost sleep. This book had everything I was looking for and definitely brought this series to an end the author could be proud of. Is this type of story for everyone maybe not but I for one was hooked from beginning to end and couldn’t put it down. The characters are complex and relatable, they simply draw you into their world and I loved getting lost in the pages with them. It’s well written and paced nicely never feeling rushed or lacking anything. I honestly wish I could read this book and the rest of the series all over for the first time but I’ll have to just add them to my read again list. Five huge stars and highly recommended!

Come Back Tomorrow (Embrace Tomorrow, #1)Come Back Tomorrow by Amy Argent
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Come Back Tomorrow (Embrace Tomorrow Duet Book 1) by Amy Argent. Sometimes you need a book that tears your heart open in all the right ways and that’s definitely what I got with this book. This incredible story captured a huge piece of my heart and I don’t think I’ll ever get it back. From the very beginning I knew I was in for an emotional read and I loved my time with the characters. Not all stories are sunshine and rainbows, sometimes an author comes in and shows an all to realistic side of life. This author did it beautifully and while I’m one who like the sunshine and rainbows sometimes you need the rain storms in a book also. I couldn’t put this book down and I can’t wait to read book two. Have some tissues near by and trust me this book is worth every tissue you may use. Four big stars and highly recommended.

Unlikely in Love (A Parker Lake Novel Book 1) by Olivia Sherwood – Review by Katie Kearney

Unlikely in Love (A Parker Lake Novel Book 1)Unlikely in Love by Olivia Sherwood
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Unlikely in Love (A Parker Lake Novel Book 1) by Olivia Sherwood is the first book I have read by this author but it definitely won’t be my last. I loved the characters in this book, they were written so well that I felt like they were old friends instead of characters I was starting to get to know. I especially liked the names Sophia gave her farm animals, absolutely hilarious. The interactions between Annabelle and Wyatt are both funny and touching.
Annabelle has just inherited a farm from her grandmother who recently passed away. Only problem is she has absolutely no idea how to run it. Thankfully for her Wyatt has just returned from his third tour and is willing to help her out. In the past these two seemed to pass each other like ships in the night but now? Now it looks like they might just have a second chance at a lasting love.
This book had me laughing, crying, and at some points actually yelling at the characters. This author certainly knows have to paint a picture with her words and I definitely have to give that picture a five star rating. Thank you for the start of what looks like an amazing series. I look forward to the next entry in the series.

Luce Eterna: Part 1: Book 5, The Luminara Series by SJ Molloy. Wow ok so I’m not even sure where to begin this review like I’m at a complete loss. What words can possibly do this story justice? Amazing? Incredible? Freaking out of this world good? All those will have to do. Lexi and Lucca have a huge chunk of my heart and I’ll be honest I don’t think I want it back. These two have taken readers on quite a journey and it’s been down right emotional. But I love every minute of it. Even though I’ll be honest this book just about broke me but I’m still anxiously awaiting the final installment. You definitely need to read this series in order and it’s not for everyone as it does have some difficult situations but I want to praise the authors efforts on handling those situations well and giving us characters we love and love to hate sometimes. I’m so excited for the next one but also sad as it’s the end I believe but I’ll be reading this series over and over. Five of the biggest stars I can find.

Book four was just as amazing as the rest of the series. Yes this book may have triggers for some but I think the author handles them well. The situations in this book and series can be extremely difficult to see but I love how the author created our main character Lexi. She’s just so strong even even she feels at her weakest. And Lucca had me swooning just as much in this part of their journey. I love spending time with these two and all their amazing family and friends. So excited for more! The Luminara Series: Box Set Volume 1: Lussuria – L’amore – Lucca’s Lust by SJ Molloy.
This series is one of my top picks for 2021. I’m a girl who loves a story about people mainly women living through awful things and rising above it all. Throw in a guy who makes me swoon all that much better. Lucca and Lexi are a couple of main characters that will pull you so completely into their world you won’t even know the time passing. Books one and two are a continuous of their story and book three is Lucca’s view of book one. My only complaint is that I had a hard time getting through book three simply because I wanted the furthered storyline quicker. Don’t get me wrong I loved getting Lucca’s point of view but I’d have liked it a bit later but please don’t take that as a hit against this amazing series because even though I didn’t like the timing per say I still absolutely loved Lucca’s point of view. This series is definitely not for the faint of heart there’s situations that could trigger some and be uncomfortable for others but if you love a strong character who fights hard to live her life I highly recommend this series. It’s well written and paced nicely never feeling rushed or lacking anything. I’m so excited to get more time with Lexi and Lucca. Five great big stars!
