Savage Secrets (Mafia Elite, #4)Savage Secrets by Amy McKinley
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Yet again another fantastic read from this author. I don’t think I will ever tire of reading her stories they always grab my attention from the first page until the last. There was honestly so much going on in this story I was definitely on the edge of my seat at times. I loved Marco and Elena’s story; it was fantastic to read. I really loved Elena, with everything she had to contend with she showed such strength of character when faced with danger. Marco has this wonderful mafia dark broodiness to him and the fierce protective side which I loved! He’s definitely swoon-worthy!!
As always, I cannot wait to read more from this author! She is a firm favourite of mine!

I really enjoyed this story – second chance romance together with sports romance makes for my perfect read! I’ve not read anything by this author previously ad I really liked their writing style. The story flowed well and had a great pace to it. I loved the chemistry between the two main characters it felt real and believable. They had a genuine connection and I loved reading about them. As well as the two main character Levi and Brynn, there were also their friendships with other characters that made the story too. I loved the interaction and banter between them all.
This was a great read and I am definitely looking forward to more from the series.

Wildcat: A Steamy Firefighter Romance by Carina Alyce – Review by Katie Matthews

Wildcat (MetroGen After Hours, #1)Wildcat by Carina Alyce
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This is the first book that I have read by this author and I really enjoyed it. I really liked the characters Leslie and Trevor. They really did have a great amount of chemistry between them and I was definitely rooting for them throughout the story. I really admired Leslie, she clearly loved her job but being a female firefighter came with its problems and she really worked hard to prove herself. Although this was a short story it definitely wasn’t short on detail and it had a great pace and flow. I will definitely be looking forward to reading more from this author again in the future.

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I am going to completely honest that I almost didn’t read this book, the authors warning triggered many things for me but I felt like I needed to know if she could write about these things as well as I anticipated and I have to say she absolutely did. Was it hard to read at times – yes, did I cry remembering some of these things happening to me – absolutely but I absolutely cannot fault the authors writing. It was excellent, she had clearly thought about everything she wrote about and this really was an amazing story. I was hooked from beginning to end and did feel like I was right there with the characters at times, the emotion and heartbreak came across really well.
A truly wonderful read and I 100% recommend it.

I was really looking forward to reading the fifth book in this series and I wasn’t disappointed. It was great to catch up with Miles and Bella again and see their story progress and their story definitely isn’t plain sailing. There was so much going on in this book and it definitely captured my interest from beginning to end. There really is so much more to this story than meets the eye and I really enjoyed reading it. The author has a wonderful imagination and creative writing style and she certainly managed to engage me throughout this book and the previous ones. I would recommend reading the books in order to understand the characters and their relationships.

Slick Running (Satan’s Devils MC #3) AUDIO BOOK by Manda Mellett – Review by Katie Matthews

Slick Running (Satan’s Devils MC #3) AUDIO BOOK

By Manda Mellett

5 stars

If I could I would totally insert the crying emoji first for this audiobook! What a way to start the third book in this series! Talk about emotional!! Slick is one of those characters that when you start listening about him you really question him and his personality but he’s been hurt and I can kind of understand him but it really didn’t take long for me to fall in love with him just as I have with the other brothers in this MC. Once he realised what had happened to Ella that MC protectiveness took over! As well as the amazing writing from this author the narrator really managed to bring this story to life and certainly added to the emotional parts of it even more!

A fantastic 5-star audio book that I highly recommend you listen to!

This was a really good read! Fast paced and definitely a page turner! I have read books by this author previously so knew her writing was engaging and she definitely had my attention with this one! Lydia was a fun character to read about and I felt like I was with her at times as she battled to save her boyfriend. The authors imaginative writing really came through in this story and the humour that was interjected made the story better to read. This is only a short read and to be honest I would have happily had read a longer version of it. Overall, a great read and one that I would recommend to others!

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I’ve been looking forward to reading the latest instalment of this series and the author did not disappoint at all. The story was as well written and exciting as the previous two and I loved being transported back in time with the characters. The authors descriptive writing hasn’t wavered over the three books, I continue to be able to imagine exactly what I am reading at time. In this third book we see Maggie and Will preparing for their special day but with time travel involved its clear things aren’t going to go to plan! I really feel like I know these characters so well now and I love the twists and turns in their story.
This really was a fabulous read and I am definitely looking forward to more from this author!

Exiled South by Harriet Cannon – Review by Katie Matthews

Exiled SouthExiled South by Harriet Cannon
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This was such an interesting story to read. After I had read the synopsis something about the story had me intrigued, it’s not usually something I would read but I thought I would give it a go and I really did enjoy it. The author’s writing was brilliant, really engaging and I found that the characters were really relatable. The main character, Lizbeth, had a real determination about her and I was really willing her to overcome the obstacles in her way to find out what she wanted to find out about and fill in some of those important family missing blanks.
Overall, this was a lovely read, somewhat unexpected and one that I would highly recommend.

I also love the title to the story too!

I really enjoyed this book, when I first read the synopsis, it sounded like an interesting read and I was pleasantly surprised by it. I believe this is the authors debut novel and what a novel it is! She should certainly be proud of the book she has written, it was exciting, engaging and had some great twists and turns. I really liked the character, Grace; she was a really complex character and I felt like the deeper I got into the story the more I found out about her and got to know and understand her better. I definitely felt like I was in the middle of a court case at times, it felt very real to read! After finishing this story, I am definitely looking forward for more to come from this author!

I really like the authors writing, it’s easy to read and she writes in a very engaging way. I really like Becky as a character, she has such an admirable strength about her. I have really enjoyed reading about her! In this story we see Becky faced with many challenges, the author definitely wasn’t going to let her final book be an easy one!
This was definitely a fitting story for the final book in this series and I absolutely loved it. I would highly recommend this book and the series! I look forward to reading more from this author again in the future.

Unlikely to Stay (Parker Lake) by Olivia Sherwood – Review by Katie Matthews

Unlikely to Stay (A Parker Lake Novel Book 3)Unlikely to Stay by Ashlie Knapp
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I love it when I read a book and then when I come to write the review, I end up just sitting at my computer looking at a blank page on the screen wondering how on earth I am going to find the words to justify how amazing the book was. That is exactly the problem I am having now! I have loved every book in this series so far but I think this one has to be my favourite. I have been waiting for CC’s story since the beginning. I love her independence and her success as a business woman. She has always been there for her friends and now they are doing something for her! I found that part really touching. She really deserved the help to get what she wanted.
I really liked Brant, and I mean REALLY liked him! He was such a genuine and nice guy. I loved the connection and chemistry between him and CC and I was definitely rooting for them the whole way through!
Along with CC and Brant were some great secondary characters – I don’t want to spoil it but a certain 90-year-old is back with some hilarious tales to tell!!
I really cannot recommend this book enough – it definitely deserves 5 stars and more!

There was so much going on and although science fiction isn’t a genre I would normally choose, I find these books so good to read I almost forget that element of it at times and I’m completely swept up in what I’m reading. The author’s writing is really engaging and her world building is excellent. I can really imagine some of the scenes that I’m reading.
A fantastic read that I’m sure any sci-fi romance lover would enjoy!

This was a really good sports romance, I really enjoyed it. Having read stories by this author previously I was really looking forward to this book and I wasn’t disappointed. The writing was great, the pace and flow excellent and I really liked the characters – there was certainly a lot of angst going on between them that’s for sure! Krista’s character really broke my heart at times, the way the author write about her and everything that she went through made her feel so real and I felt like I was experiencing some of the emotions she did right with her. I really liked Rylan, he was really genuine and such a good friend for Krista.
Overall, a really nice story with great characters. I would highly recommend this book!

This audio book was such a fantastic listen! I wasn’t 100% sure when I first read the synopsis but once I started it I was hooked from beginning to end. The author’s writing was fantastic, so gripping and engaging – it didn’t change the whole way through the book either. The characters were complex and the story was multi layered – it honestly is one of the best books that I have listened to this year! I can’t believe I have never come cross this author previously but that will absolutely change now I cannot wait to get my hands on more of her work!

As well as the amazing story the narrator was great too, really brought the story to life!

Oh oh Master Trentino – I think you may be my favourite! This author is for sure becoming one of my favourites! She definitely knows how to write dark paranormal and has certainly captured my interest in a genre that I’ve not really read much of previously! Trentino has to act fast when he finds Angel and I really liked reading about her as she recovered from her transformation. There was so much passion and chemistry between them but he knew he couldn’t act as he wanted. I loved the new friendships that were formed in this story also. The story is fairly fast paced and with some fantastic and unexpected twists and turns I couldn’t turn the page fast enough!
Another wonderful book in this series and one that I 100% recommend!

I loved the time period for the story too. I am definitely looking forward to reading the next book in this series and I would highly recommend this book to other readers.

This is definitely a story that will keep you guessing until the very end – I felt like I was working right along with Eve and Bob to work out just what had happened!

This was a great rock star romance read with a great storyline, great characters and great pace and flow. It was a really enjoyable read. I absolutely adored Jared, he was not at all who I was expecting when I first started the story, the dept of love and care his shows towards his father had me emotional at times. The interaction between him and Madison definitely had that school ground kind of behaviour and I knew that there was something there between them! There was definitely a good deal of angst between them which definitely transpired into chemistry! I really enjoyed reading their story – it was certainly emotional at times!

This was such an incredibly thought-provoking book and I am so glad that I picked it up to read. I have such a newfound respect and understanding of people with visual impairments and how they deal with every day things. I really enjoyed learning about Braille – it’s something I’ve always wondered about and it was explained so well. The author is a true inspiration and the way this book is written definitely made me thin a lot. Her descriptions of things in particular made me stop and appreciate my sight so much.

So here we have it the final book in this amazing series and what a book it was! I think probably my favourite book overall and I definitely didn’t want it to end. I was really excited to see where the author was going to take this final book and she definitely didn’t disappoint. I was completely captivated from beginning to end there was just so much going on that I couldn’t put the book down at all and read it in one sitting. I don’t think I was expecting Lazarus to steal my heart but her certainly did! The author had clearly taken so much time with the characters in this story because there were times where their words just leapt of the page with such depth of emotion.

The second book in this series and it definitely did not disappoint! Drummer and Sam’s story is probably one of my favourites by this author! I was swept up in it straight away and I was really disappointed when it finished! I love the family feel of these MC stories – they are so important to each other and the bond they have is great! They really do protect each other and when you become a lady of an MC Brother you know you are theirs for life! Sam and Drummer may have had their troubles being together but, in my opinion, they were the perfect match!! The narration of the audio book was perfect and they really did bring the authors words to life.

Having read books by this author previously I thought I would give an audio book a try and overall, I really enjoyed the story. It was a long listen I will admit but it actually went really quickly because I was so absorbed in the story. The narration was really good and pleasant to listen to. The story is quite complex but being able to listen to it actually really helped me imagine what was going on. I really liked the characters and the storyline was magical and creative.

There were a few different themes in this story which were explored and written about really well. I think this was probably one of my favourite books by this author. I really felt something deeper with the characters,

Conveniently Yours (Titans Of Manhattan #1)Conveniently Yours by Anise Storm
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I absolutely loved this story! When I first read the synopsis, I knew it was going to be my kind of book and it absolutely was. Caspian is the kind of character I know I should hate but there was just something about him and I knew he would change as the story progressed. He is your typical alpha male, billionaire character but I think there ended up being much more o him. Paisley. Knew I would love her straight away, yes, she was probably your typical female lead in this type of story but she was such a lovely person and she actually wasn’t afraid to stand up to Caspian which I admired about her. There was the angst I wated between them but also a slow burn passion that you could feel building with every turn of the page.
Overall, a really great read, one that I would highly recommend and I look forward to reading more form this author again in the future.

If I thought I needed the tissues for the first book in this duet then I was wrong because I needed a bucket load more for this book. Oh my gosh what an emotional roller-coaster I have been on with Tori and Will. I think the author did an absolutely amazing job with this story, to take something that has an impact on so many people and to write about it so beautifully, so raw and truthful is really something special. I felt like I was right there with Tori and Will from the very beginning until the very last word of this book. I laughed with them, I cried with them and I felt every single emotion that they did. Both books have been a pleasure to read and I will definitely be looking forward to more from this author again in the future.
