Embracing Jared (Thrill of the Chase, #3) by Anna Paige – Review by Katie Matthews

Embracing Jared (Thrill of the Chase, #3)Embracing Jared by Anna Paige
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This was a great rock star romance read with a great storyline, great characters and great pace and flow. It was a really enjoyable read. I absolutely adored Jared, he was not at all who I was expecting when I first started the story, the dept of love and care his shows towards his father had me emotional at times. The interaction between him and Madison definitely had that school ground kind of behaviour and I knew that there was something there between them! There was definitely a good deal of angst between them which definitely transpired into chemistry! I really enjoyed reading their story – it was certainly emotional at times!
A great read and one that I highly recommend!

Born in Darkness (Mafia Elite Book 3) by Amy McKinley – Review by Katie Matthews

Born in Darkness (Mafia Elite, #3)Born in Darkness by Amy McKinley
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This series just continues to get better and better with each new book this author releases! This book was just amazing – from start to finish I was captivated by Stefano and Emiliana’s story – it was fast paced, dark, romantic, action packed and so much more. I couldn’t turn the pages quick enough trying to find out what was going to happen next there was just so much going on it was very addictive to read. I love mafia and I love forbidden romance bit a forbidden mafia romance tops them all!!
Although this book is part of a series it could be read as a standalone but having read the other books, I would highly recommend reading them in order.
I honestly cannot recommend this book enough it was an amazing read and I can’t wait for more from this author!

This was such a lovely, heart-warming Christmas read. I really do love this author and this is one of my favourites by her so far! I really liked Amber and Giovanni, both really likeable and relatable characters I felt. I also really loved that real feeling the story had. Giovanni was such a perfect gentleman and form the moment him and Amber met I knew they would be perfect for each other and I was rooting for them the whole way through.
This was such a fun sweet read and one that I would highly recommend for getting you in the Christmas spirit!

This was such an incredibly thought-provoking book and I am so glad that I picked it up to read. I have such a newfound respect and understanding of people with visual impairments and how they deal with every day things. I really enjoyed learning about Braille – it’s something I’ve always wondered about and it was explained so well. The author is a true inspiration and the way this book is written definitely made me thin a lot. Her descriptions of things in particular made me stop and appreciate my sight so much.
I really do highly recommend this book!

King Bastard (Dark Sparrow, #6)King Bastard by India Kells
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

So here we have it the final book in this amazing series and what a book it was! I think probably my favourite book overall and I definitely didn’t want it to end. I was really excited to see where the author was going to take this final book and she definitely didn’t disappoint. I was completely captivated from beginning to end there was just so much going on that I couldn’t put the book down at all and read it in one sitting. I don’t think I was expecting Lazarus to steal my heart but her certainly did! The author had clearly taken so much time with the characters in this story because there were times where their words just leapt of the page with such depth of emotion.
This really was a fantastic ending to this series and one that I 100% recommend (both book and series!

Drummer’s Beat (Satan’s Devils MC #2) Audio Book

By Manda Mellett

5 Stars

The second book in this series and it definitely did not disappoint! Drummer and Sam’s story is probably one of my favourites by this author! I was swept up in it straight away and I was really disappointed when it finished! I love the family feel of these MC stories – they are so important to each other and the bond they have is great! They really do protect each other and when you become a lady of an MC Brother you know you are theirs for life! Sam and Drummer may have had their troubles being together but, in my opinion, they were the perfect match!! The narration of the audio book was perfect and they really did bring the authors words to life.

The Crown of Stones: Magic-Price Audio Book

4 stars

Having read books by this author previously I thought I would give an audio book a try and overall, I really enjoyed the story. It was a long listen I will admit but it actually went really quickly because I was so absorbed in the story. The narration was really good and pleasant to listen to. The story is quite complex but being able to listen to it actually really helped me imagine what was going on. I really liked the characters and the storyline was magical and creative.

Overall, a fantastic audio book and one that I would highly recommend! I look forward to the next one!

After finishing part 1 of this series, I was really looking forward to starting the second part and as usual with this author I wasn’t disappointed! I feel like I got to know the characters a bit more in this book and enjoyed the introduction of some new ones also. The story is really beautifully written and I loved that Red finally got his HEA! There were a few different themes in this story which were explored and written about really well. I think this was probably one of my favourite books by this author. I really felt something deeper with the characters,
A wonderful read that fully deserves 5 stars if not more!

Conveniently Yours (Titans Of Manhattan BOOK 1) by Anise Storm – Review by Katie Matthews

Conveniently Yours (Titans Of Manhattan #1)Conveniently Yours by Anise Storm
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I absolutely loved this story! When I first read the synopsis, I knew it was going to be my kind of book and it absolutely was. Caspian is the kind of character I know I should hate but there was just something about him and I knew he would change as the story progressed. He is your typical alpha male, billionaire character but I think there ended up being much more o him. Paisley. Knew I would love her straight away, yes, she was probably your typical female lead in this type of story but she was such a lovely person and she actually wasn’t afraid to stand up to Caspian which I admired about her. There was the angst I wated between them but also a slow burn passion that you could feel building with every turn of the page.
Overall, a really great read, one that I would highly recommend and I look forward to reading more form this author again in the future.

Whatever Tomorrow Brings (Embrace Tomorrow #2)Whatever Tomorrow Brings by Amy Argent
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

If I thought I needed the tissues for the first book in this duet then I was wrong because I needed a bucket load more for this book. Oh my gosh what an emotional roller-coaster I have been on with Tori and Will. I think the author did an absolutely amazing job with this story, to take something that has an impact on so many people and to write about it so beautifully, so raw and truthful is really something special. I felt like I was right there with Tori and Will from the very beginning until the very last word of this book. I laughed with them, I cried with them and I felt every single emotion that they did. Both books have been a pleasure to read and I will definitely be looking forward to more from this author again in the future.

The Box: A Greek Gods Urban Fantasy Romance (Her Three Immortals Book 4)The Box: A Greek Gods Urban Fantasy Romance by Hazel Storm
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I have been waiting for this book ever since I finished book 3 in this series and the author did not disappoint! It was such an amazing read; I was hooked from beginning to end. It was. A brilliant finale to this series – it tied up all the loose ends within the series and everything was just finished off perfectly. Over the series I have really grown to love the characters, their uniqueness made the stories so interesting to read and I loved how they all added something to the story in their own way. Vanessa has been a great character to read about, I really liked her. She had a great connection with her three god’s and I loved how they all connected together. The author kept my interests across the whole series and her writing was so imaginative and creative – all of the books have been an absolute pleasure to red. There were some surprising twists and turns especially in this last book, really kept my excitement levels up that’s for sure!
Overall, a fantastic ending to this series – a series as a whole I would highly recommend.

I loved that I had to keep reading just to find out what on earth was going on. I loved the characters Brant and Aubrey! I Love a good Christmas story so as soon as I saw this one, I couldn’t wait to get started. The front cover made the book seem like a fun read and it was. I really enjoyed it and would definitely recommend it to other readers. I really liked Olivia, she was such a fun and down to earth characters to read about. She certainly made me laugh a few times during the story. I loved how Olivia and Jace met, the author put a great twist in the story there and made it feel really original! I really enjoyed reading about the both of them as well as the secondary characters who added that extra layer to the story.
Overall, a really fun Christmas read that I really enjoyed!

Fate, Frankincense & Funerals by Naomi Valkyrie – Review by Katie Matthews

Fate, Frankincense & FuneralsFate, Frankincense & Funerals by Naomi Valkyrie
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

For a short story I though the pace and flow was really good. The timeframe was perfect, there was nothing missing. The character development was good and yes, the relationship between Acheron and Errapel happened quickly but it’s paranormal and when they find a mate it does happen quickly.
The plot was very clear and very easy to follow.it followed a really nice timeframe that was short and to the point. I didn’t feel like there were any glaring plot holes either.
I really liked the characters and I have to say I wasn’t sure I would – nothing against the author but this isn’t my usual genre and I’d not read about a vulture shifter before but I fell in love with Acheron as soon as I started reading about him and then when I was introduced to Errapel I fell in love with him too. Both such beautiful characters, so nice, genuine and a pleasure to read about. I also love Carissa too!
Overall, a really great read, one I thoroughly enjoyed and would highly recommend!

Unlikely to Fit (Parker Lake) by Olivia Sherwood – Review by Katie Matthews

Unlikely to Fit (A Parker Lake Novel Book 2)Unlikely to Fit by Olivia Sherwood
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I love it when I find a new release from one of my favourite authors! I couldn’t wait to start reading Unlikely to Fit, I loved the first book in this series so I couldn’t wait to read more about the characters and I was not disappointed at all. Ms Sherwood has this amazing ability to captivate you from her very first word, her writing is flawless and just a pleasure to read.
For me Breckin and Griffin were just perfect for each other. Both of their stories made me emotional and I really felt for them as individuals. They had both been hurt in the past in completely different ways – I really do think that they were both genuinely nice people and they deserved a second chance at happiness. However I did get a little frustrated with them both at times but I think they made me love them both more and I was rooting for them to be together! I loved the humour in this book too especially with Griffin’s Grandmother!
I really cannot recommend this book enough and Olivia Sherwood as an author. Her stories are fantastic as well as her characters!

Red's Peril Part 1: The Making of an MC Prez (Satan's Devils MC Vegas #1)Red’s Peril Part 1: The Making of an MC Prez by Manda Mellett
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Finally, I after seeing red pop up in previous books I finally got to find out more about him and what a story this is! I loved the story; it was well written I think as a reader and fan of previous books there was quite a lot of overlapping but this was needed for Red’s story so whilst it felt like I had read some of the parts before it was necessary. Red has been in so many other stories in the background I think it was inevitable that this would happen with his story. I loved Red but I knew his story was going to be full of ups and downs but I still wasn’t prepared for it. He really does have a heart of gold and I cannot wait to see what happens in the second part of this series!

After reading and enjoying book 1 in this series I was looking forward to starting the second and it was again a really good read. I really liked Luke; he was a great character to read about. I have to admit it took me a while to warm up to Nadia, I wasn’t sure I was going to like her but I definitely go to know her more as the story progressed. There was a great amount of chemistry between the two main characters and it did feel genuine an don’t forced. I found myself rooting for them towards the end of the story. The story provided some great entertainment and some very funny laugh out loud moments too. This book could easily be read as a standalone but I would recommend reading them in order.

Oh, I loved this story so much, it’s one of those reads that has you feeling all warm and fuzzy inside once you have finished reading it. A beautiful Christmas romance with a magical feel to it. I loved Liberty and Sawyer, really lovely characters who you cannot help but fall in love with. Both characters were really relatable as well which made their story even more appealing to read about. I think this definitely had the Christmas movie feel about it! The family dynamics in the story I think also really added something especially Liberty’s! Ahhh Luke – I haven’t fallen in love with a character like this one for such a long time – he is definitely book boyfriend material! I loved the other books in the series but there was just something about Luke that had me swooning over him from the very beginning! I love his devotion to his daughter; she clearly means everything to him and that comes through so much in this story. Brielle, she was just the cutest and I loved reading about her!! I really liked Nikki, and I just knew as soon as she became involved with Luke that she was going to fall for him – who wouldn’t!! I absolutely loved them together, a genuine chemistry and such a wonderful couple. There were definitely some emotional moments in the story as well as angst and more!

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I adored the first book in this duet and couldn’t wait to get started on the second part and it didn’t disappoint at all. I love this author’s writing, it’s just so easy to read and her characters are amazing. Phillip and Kat’s story continues in this book and as soon as I started reading, I was right back with them. The authors descriptive language was wonderful and I could imagine the time periods I was reading about. I was definitely on the edge of my seat at some parts of the story just wanting to know if these two would make it. Again, as with the first book because of the authors planning I wasn’t confused at all – it was a smooth and seamless read.

Having read the first two books in the series I was excited to listen to the audio book of book 3 and I wasn’t disappointed! The narration was great and the story was amazing! The authors writing never fails to pull me in straight away. There were some great twists and turns in the story that constantly had me guessing about what was going to happen. I love Dahlia and Alex, they have such a great relationship, they really do work well together and I enjoy the banter that they have between them. They are very entertaining characters to listen/read about. There is just something about Dahlia that I can’t help but like, she is strong and independent and she really is just a likeable character. Although it was a long listen the tie just flew by because I was so engrossed in the story I was listening to.

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Another beautifully written story from this lovely author. I absolutely adore her books, they are so easy to read, beautifully detailed and have amazing characters you just can’t help but love reading about. Snowfall Serenade was a lovely story, I was completely lost in what I was reading and the characters, Scott and Zelda, I was completely captivated by their story. I could honestly feel every emotion that the author had clearly poured into Zelda and Scott’s situation, it was so emotional to read and I definitely shed a few tears!
This is the third book in this soul connections series and I think (although it’s a tough one) it may be my favourite! I think I would also recommend that this series is read in order to fully understand everything that happens in this third book.

Oh my what a read! I absolutely loved every second of this story! Everything about it was just amazing – I literally didn’t put it down once I started reading. I do really enjoy rock star romance stories and I think this is probably one of the best that I have read. Joe and Melody had such a wonderful connection but their story wasn’t an easy one. The author threw in some unexpected and emotional twists and I honestly felt like I was right there with the characters are some parts of the story. I really liked that not only did the author focus on the romance side of the story but also the life of a Rockstar, this in my opinion gave the story that real feel that enable me to become so invested in Joe and Melody.

Come Back Tomorrow (Embrace Tomorrow Duet Book 1) by Amy Argent – Review by Katie Matthews

Come Back Tomorrow (Embrace Tomorrow, #1)Come Back Tomorrow by Amy Argent
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Ok so when I first read the blurb for this book, I knew I wanted to dive straight in because ‘Me Before You’ is one of my favourite books especially when I need a good cry so I thought I would give Come Back Tomorrow as its sounded similar in theme and I have to say I wasn’t disappointed. I think the first thing I’ll say is I was glad it wasn’t the same as the book mentioned and it stands on his own as an amazing and emotional read. Tori and Will’s story was beautifully heart-breaking to read. I was right there with all of the emotions that each other characters was feeling and the author did a wonderful job of binging these emotions through so well. It was sad but not sad, I loved the bod that Tori and Will built and how she was able to help him work through his feelings but also, I loved how he was able to help her also. The author gave her writing such a realistic feel that it did feel like I was watching a film at times as I was reading – I was able to visualise everything so well. The descriptions of Will’s artwork especially came through.
I can’t wait for the next instalment – I am prepared for it to be very emotional but I need more of Tori and Will (also Jenny too!!)
