The Exchange by Nadija Mujagic – Review by Kerry Carr

The Exchange: A NovelThe Exchange: A Novel by Nadija Mujagic
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This was a really gripping read. The twists and turns in this book had my head spinning and completely took me by surprise. The author writes in a way that you really get to feel every emotion that the lead character goes through. Her childhood is traumatic and she seems easily taken advantage of. Sam’s naivety really leads her into some dangerous and scary situations as she finds her way in life.
I also like how the author starts at the present day with her little boy going missing before going back and telling us the tale of how she got to this situation in the first place.
Sam leaves her past behind her and moves to LA to become an actress. However her plans aren’t working out how she wants. That is until she meets Corey.
Corey is a charmer, he sweeps her off her feet and promises her everything she desires in return he wants her to have a baby.
And so begins the twisted tale but when she is left alone but imprisoned its not the dream she imagined.
Fast forward 4 years later and her little boy goes missing. Is this Corey finally making the exchange complete? Who is really the bad guy in this tale?
This book was great in that you don’t know who to trust, who to believe and who is the actual mastermind and who is the person dragged along for the ride.

The Man In BlackThe Man In Black by L.R. Liverpool
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This was a really interesting read. It is a Thriller/ mystery story with a MM romance all set in the time of the Wild West. The characters are well written especially the lead character of Fenimore (Simon). It wad interesting to read the characters progression throughout the story as he starts to discover who he truelly is and his part in the world.

Fenimore leaves his small town farming life behind determined to become an outlaw and to make a name for himself. But he soon realises that the life he dreams of isn’t as good as he first thought. When he gets in with a gang and their are thoughts of a traitor among them things get very dangerous as everyone becomes a suspect. Add to this the discover Fenimore has of his attraction to a fellow gang member. For that attraction allow it could cost them their lives.

This story is full of wild west violence and danger with elements of romance and mystery thrown in. It is a very engaging tale that will keep you turning pages just to see what happens next.

I really enjoyed this story and being transported to a time of outlaws and the dangers that lifestyle brought with it.

I really enjoyed this contemporary romance. The author does an amazing job with their characters. They are both well developed and are written in a way that makes the reader feel every emotion they go through. I love Grace’s determined spirit and how she let’s nothing stop her from her dreams.
Grace and Ryan have both has losses in their pasts which has left them feeling Wounded and at a loss. When Ryan’s brother passes away it should have been a tragedy that brought them together. Instead Ryan ran and that forced a wedge between Ryan and Grace.

Absolution by Anise Storm & Taylor L. Ray – Review by Kerry Carr

AbsolutionAbsolution by Anise Storm
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Wow this book was a great read. I loved the twists and turns in it. It is a very steamy romance with loads of danger turns along the way I was kept on the edge of my seat not knowing what was going to happen next.
I loved the characters. Dominic has had a hard life from early on and it go even worse when he was accused and put on trial for the disappearance/ murder of his then gf Juliana. He was found not guilty and has moved on with his life all the while set on getting revenge on the people that fasley accused him. Fast forward and he has made himself a success. But his need for revenge and answers about what happened to Juliana still remain. His life was going along fine until he bumps into a woman who changes his life.

Whitney has a special gift. She can communicate with spirits. So when she hears a voice inside her head as much as she doesn’t want to she needs to help this spirit. The dangerous part is she has to cross Dominic. To make matters a million times worse she is the spitting double of Juliana and because the last person Dominic ever wants to see again.

What follows is a tale which will have you on the edge of your seat and feeling like your on a rollercoaster of emotions as Juliana trys to communication via Whitney and explain what really happened to her.
The chemistry between Dominic and Whitney is very strong and sizzles off the page but what they uncover is a situation full of danger, lies, and murder.
Is Dominic just feeling things for Whitney because of her likeness to Juliana? Or will that make things even worse when she trys to convince him she’s not Juliana come back to cause him trouble. Will Dominic be able to move on and find closure once the truth is out there or will it make his need for revenge even stronger?

It is definately a book you will not be able to put down.

The Golden Garza (Red Cage Book 4) by S. Ann Cole – Review by Kerry Carr

The Golden Garza (Red Cage, #4)The Golden Garza by S. Ann Cole
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Wow I really enjoyed this book. It is a romance but it is also full of danger and Suspense as secrets are reveled and a romance blossoms which took me by surprise. The author’s writing is so descriptive that you feel every ounce of emotions between Tripp and Sunny. There’s is definately a relationship which starts off as pure hate. Well from Tripp, Sunny however has always wanted him.
When Sunny hires Tripps family to help her find out who she is, things take a dangerous twist which means Sunny needs to be protected and Tripp is just the man for the job. As things progress and the situation gets more dangerous you can feel the tension and attraction build between them. But Tripp doesn’t do relationships so as much as he realises he wants her he holds back and we get a stroy that is very push and pull but full of tension as you keep reading to see if they eventually get their act together and get together

This is the 4th book in the Red Cage series and I am definately going back to read the others. Even though it is part of a series it was enjoyable enough to be read as a standalone.

I can’t wait to read the others in this series.

Talisman (The Talisman, #1)Talisman by Tam DeRudder Jackson
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This was an interesting read that I enjoyed. I loved how history and present day mix and I love the magic and paranormal elements in this story. This is a fated mate story which gives it a additional element that works well.
Alyssa Macaulay is our leading lady. She has just finished writing a thesis on Celtic Warriors and she is plagued by strange dreams of modern day Celtic Warriors. She doesn’t know what it means or if it’s just her overactive mind. When she meet Rowan she feels a connection although she doesn’t know what it is or how getting involved with him will change her life forever.

Rowan is a security guy during the day but at night he becomes a powerful warrior, protecting humans from evil forces and a fight that has been going on for centuries. Rowan however had a problem. Because of a curse on his family centuries before he needs to find his talisman(fated mate) before his 28th birthday else he loses the fight to be a warrior for good.
When he meets Alyssa he knows she’s the one but she’s going to take some convincing.

This is a story full of adventure and when Alyssa glimpses his world she sees all the paranormal beings that she wasn’t even aware existed before. Could she really be Rowan’s fated mate? Will she believe in time? Or will Rowan be doomed to return to the druid that cursed his family so long ago?

I can’t wait to see how this series carries on

I really enjoyed this romance. Its a story full of twists and turns which keeps me hooked. The author does an amazing job with the characters and really brings them to life. I love how Luke is really independent and wants to do things her own way. And i love how fierce and protective Nikolai is.

Luke and Nikolai have had an intimate past. But when a Luke calls it off Nikolai isn’t ready to let her go so easily. Luke moves forward living her life the way she chooses with no thought for anyone. Meanwhile Nikolai keeps an eye on her from a distance.

When Luke witnessed an event that puts her in danger Nikolai is right there to protect her and keep her safe, but Luke isn’t going to give up without a fight. She’s not so sure she wants to be back with a man like Nikolai even if it keeps her safe

This story is a dark Mafia Romance. There’s is chemistry and lots of push and pull as both out characters fight for what they want. Will it be each other?

Shore Lodge by Susan Specht Oram – Review by Kerry Carr

Shore Lodge: A high-stakes psychological thriller (The Millersville series)Shore Lodge: A high-stakes psychological thriller by Susan Specht Oram
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This was a great read. I really loved Jacklyn character. Even after everything she is going through when push comes to shove her fighting spirit and strength really come out as she fights for her freedom and her sanity. I really didn’t like Dusty’s character, I felt like he was always just looking out for himself and what he could get. His sister on the other hand i do believe she was doing what she thought would help her mother and was conned by Dusty just as much as Jacklyn was.

Jacklyn Stone is going through a traumatic time. After losing her husband suddenly and uncovering secrets he kept from her it’s no wonder she’s a bit all over the place and struggling with things. She needs time to grieve and to make sense of everything she is finding out.
However her children don’t see that and think she need medical intervention. Especially Dusty. He has power of attorney over his mum and decides he knows best. And that is to put her into a mental instution.
Packaging it up as a retreat to give his mum some peace and time to recover they persuade Jacklyn to to to Shore Lodge.
What happens next is Jacklyn’s fight to escape a institution she doesn’t belong in while trying to keep her sanity and come to terms with the deception and her sons part in it.
Can Jacklyn fight her way out and escape a place which wants to keep her stuck and “mentally impaired”. Does she really need to be at Shore Lodge after all?

It’s a gripping read that you won’t be able to put down.

StoryTeller’s Tale (Wretched Soulz MC) by Manda Mellett – Review by Kerry Carr

StoryTeller's Tale: Wretched Soulz MCStoryTeller’s Tale: Wretched Soulz MC by Manda Mellett
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This is the first book in the Wretched Soulz MC series and i loved it. This author is definately one of my favourites and her books never fail to grip me and keep me on the edge of my seat.
This books is full of danger and excitement with a bit or romance thrown in which makes theses stories so good.

Storyteller got his handle for his ability to tell stories and it fits even better when this book revolves around a book he finds discarded at a service station. Storyteller is nomad member of the Wretched Soulz MC. When he find this supposedly random book he just thinks it could be a good read but what unfolds is something more dangerous and could lead to war between the Wretched MC and their ravel MC club.
When Storyteller finds the book signed he gets a strange urge to return it to the woman it belongs to. After finding out who she is, he also finds out she didn’t leave of her own accord she was taken.

No ST is on a mission to rescue her but why he doesn’t know.
Sheri is a quiet woman, she lives for reading and her passion is MC romances. She has fantasised about meeting a man just like in her books. But when she is kidnapped by a MC she realises that reality isn’t as good as fiction.
Now she’s trapped with no hope of escape. Until ST comes for her.
This is the type of man she’s dreamed about finding. And as they spend time together they start to get closer. But will they get time to build a bond or relationship or will the MC gang that kidnapped her have other ideas and scores to settle which could potentially put them both and the Wretched Soulz MC in danger.

An amazing read and I cant wait for more

The White Knight Cowboy (The Studs of Clear Creek County) by Stacy-Deanne – Review by Kerry Carr

The White Knight Cowboy Stacy-DeanneThe White Knight Cowboy Stacy-Deanne by Stacy-Deanne
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I enjoyed this romance. It is sent in a time in the past and I enjoyed how the author gives us a background to the time and place the story is set.

Savage Start (Hidden Valley Elite Prequel) by Isla Vaughn – Review by Kerry Carr

Savage Start: A High School Bully Romance: Hidden Valley Elite PrequelSavage Start: A High School Bully Romance: Hidden Valley Elite Prequel by Isla Vaughn
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This is a really gripping short read. The characters are amazingly written. They have so much depth that you can’t help be drawn into their lives. Both the main characters Riley and Cole have traumatic lives. Both have family issues which affect them in ways no young adult should he affected.
Riley and her mum are on the run from her father. They never stay anywhere for long and because of this Riley has a distrust of people.
Cole’s family is very toxic. With a dad constantly cheating and his mother suffering from mental health problems it is a volatile mix.
The way Riley and Cole meet is unexpected but one thing is for sure they never forget each other.
This story does deal with some issues that may cause a trigger for some people like mental illness and the consequences of untreated mental illness. The author handles this in an emotionally honest way which brings the situation to life and makes your heart break for the characters involved.

I can’t wait to see what is in store for Cole and Riley and if they will ever see each other again.

Titanian Warrior (Titanian Chronicles Book 3) by Victoria Saccenti – Review by Kerry Carr

Titanian Warrior (Titanian Chronicles #3)Titanian Warrior by Victoria Saccenti
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This is the 3rd book in the Titanian Chronicles. I do recommend reading the other books first however the story can stand on its own. If you read the first books you have a better understanding of the other characters and how they all fit together.
This is another amazing paranormal adventure story that will keep you gripped from the beginning. I love the whole fated mates part of these stories and how no matter what even when all hope is lost their mates show up. This is definately a story of good vs evil and how a good person can lose his way and risk turning to darkness..
It’s a very emotional story with lots of danger and action as well as a all consuming romance between Hagen and Faiza.
There is plenty of mystery and magic as well and even Faiza isn’t all she seems.
This story is an amazing collection of all aspects I love. From paranormal/magical beings, a romance that makes you fall so fast and deep and action and danger which keeps you fighting for these characters to succeed.

The 45th Parallel (Antipodes Series Book 6) by T.S. Simons – Review by Kerry Carr

The 45th Parallel (Antipodes, #6)The 45th Parallel by T.S. Simons
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This is the 6th book in the Antipodes Series and it is definately one you need to read from the beginning. I have read them all and I have loved reading about the characters how their lives have changed and they have grown as well as all the challenges, loves, loss and danger along the way and this next installment is no different.

This story is following Caitlin and Seraphine. Both of these girls have been born with one specific role in life. To have babies and continue to populate the domes with people who have a better immunity to the disease that killed so many people. Because of their genetics any offspring then have will also carry the same genes and immunity.
But what happens when you don’t want to follow the path that has been laid out for you. Why can’t you just be your own person following your own dreams and desires wherever it may lead you? This is exactly the situation that Caitlin and Seraphine find themselves in. Their journey is one full of danger, conflict and love as well as secrets that will be revealed.
The question is what would you do if it was a choice between your happiness or saving your whole community?
This is what our 2 girls need to work out and it’s no easy task as they are challenged at every turn. We meet new characters and see new worlds all the while witnessing the growth of Caitlin and Seraphine.
This is one sci-fi adventure that will keep you turning pages until the end.

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I really enjoyed this sci-fi film romance. It was full of action and adventure that keeps you turning the pages. The author does an amazing job of describing to us the worlds that the characters are seeing and travelling to, it really brings the story to life.
The romance is so good as well. Its 2 people from different places but coming together to create something amazing.
Princess Mora has been sent to marry Prince Fidge. It is to create an alliance between the 2 worlds or so Mora’s family thought. However that isn’t what Prince Fidge’s family has planned at all. Now Mora has found this out she wants to marry him even less. All she wants is a chance to live her life her way and be free. And that chance comes in the form of Darin.

Darin is an outcast. He has connections to the space pirates and is seen as an enemy of the kingdom. All he wants to do is earn his credits so he can leave the land he is imprisoned on. He was never expecting to find love until Mrs Langley(Mora) came into his life.
Together they try to make things right, to make the moon people free, to end Darin’s imprisonment. But with secrets and deception will these two have a chance of making a romance work. What will happen when Darin finds out that Mrs Langley is infact Princess Mora?
This story is action packed with Sci fi adventure as well a burning romance between two people who are destined to be together even though everyone else disagrees.

Straight for the Kill (Benoit and Dayne Mystery Book 3) by Winter Austin – Review by Kerry Carr

Straight for the Kill (Benoit and Dayne Mystery, #3)Straight for the Kill by Winter Austin
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This was a great gripping crime Thriller. I just couldn’t put it down. It is 3rd book in the Benoit and Dayne Mysteries. It can be read as a standalone however I get the feeling if you read the series you get better understanding of the characters which is what I plan on doing. The author has wrote a story that is full of twists and turns so you never know what’s coming. There are loads of secrets and shady characters to keep you guessing about who is commiting these crimes.

When a young woman is found murdered on Halloween that is bad enough but when the resemblance is uncanny to a murder that happened 25 years ago on that same date things take a sinister turn.
Is that killer still active? Is it a copycat? One thing that Deputy Dayne knows is they need to find this person fast. However things aren’t that simple. With it being a small town everyone knows everyone and with the current sherrif and another deputy having links to one of the previous victims it’s hard to find people who can look at this case with unbiased eyes. Add to this the deception and lies being told by people further up the chain of command and it makes this already tricky and dangerous case even harder.
Who can Deputy Dayne trust? Who can work on this case that doesn’t have some link to the previous case? Who is involved and how will they react when they realise that Dayne is on their trail?

This is definately a read you won’t be able to put down

Vaughn’s Xena (Dirty Rockhard Billionaire Book 1) by M.I. Rosegold – Review by Kerry Carr

Vaughn's Xena (Dirty Rockhard Series, #1)Vaughn’s Xena by M.I. Rosegold
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This is the first book in the Dirty Rockhard Billionaire series. The author does an amazing job with this story. They descriptions and details that the author puts in really brings the story to live and paints pictures in the readers mind so strong if feels like your there.
I always love an Alpha male and Vaughan is definately an Alpha male. His feelings and possessiveness over Xena can sometimes feel a bit much but there is no denying that Xena loves that side of him. She has fantasised about him for a long time but she is completely blown away when fantasy meets reality.
The only downside and possible problem is that Xena is Vaughan’s sister’s best friend and that a line he promised not to cross. But can they deny themselves something that feels meant to be?
This is a very hot steamy read. It will have you laughing, crying and feeling so many different emotions through the story it will feel like a rollercoaster ride.

Underboss’s Retaliation (Sicilian Gods Book 2) by Via Mari – Review by Kerry Carr

Underboss's Retaliation (Sicilian Gods Book 2)Underboss’s Retaliation by Via Mari
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This is book 2 in the Sicilian God’s series. I am completely in love with these books. There is so much going in the stories that you feel like your holding your breath to find out what happens. There are so many twists and turns that always keep you guessing. There is danger and action as we learn about the war between Mafia families and their need for revenge and retribution. As well as all this we have the passion and desire we get from our main couple in the stories in this case it’s Dom and Emelia.

Emelia is the daughter of the De Rosa family. She was born and raised a Mafia princess. Dominic calls her a wildcat and he is not wrong. She isn’t the meek and mild princess people think. She has guts and can handle herself and she won’t let nothing or no one stop her from protecting her family. Even the enemy.

Dominic was never ment to fall in love with her. She’s the enemy after all. Nothing good can come from it but there is no denying the attraction and feelings between them. Dominic is prepared to risk it all, even disobeying his own family to be with Emelia. No matter the cost she is his.

What unravels is a whirlwind of a tail where deceit and secrets start to unravel, enemies are everywhere and you don’t know who you can trust. Will Dominic and Emelia’s forbidden relationship stand any chance of survival? Or will the waring families end it before it begins?

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This is the first book in the Book Of Fae series. It was a really entertaining story and a great start to the series. I love how the author wrote the story in the same way that the people of that era would talk and how the customs and peoples perceptions of magic and things they don’t understand is portrayed along with historical references.
This story has it all from danger and intrigue, to mystery and magic there is something for everyone.
Jessa is a young woman who is trying her hardest to fit into the accepted role of Lady in her society. However she is far from a normal Lady. She has a secret and it is one she needs to keep locked away unless she wants to end up in an institution.

Throwing the CurveThrowing the Curve by Lauren Fraser
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This is sports romance. It is the 2nd book in the Playing For Keeps series. It’s is an enjoyable read. I felt so sorry for Peyton. She starts the story finding out the guy she is dating is a married man and to keep this secret she is forced to pretend she is dating another member of the team Ryan.

Ryan has some preconceived ideas about who he things Peyton is. Namely just a women who threw herself at a famous baseball player just to make herself look good and hes not scared to tell her that.
Even though they hate each other they need to put on a good show to convince everyone they are a happy couple.
But what happens when pretending turns real. When anger and hate turned to attraction and want. Will Ryan see how wrong his impressions of Peyton are or will they continue to fight and push away from each other denying their attraction.

Chasing Redemption (Quimby Grove #2)Chasing Redemption by Shannon Nikole
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This is the second book in the Quimby Grove series. It is a beautiful story about second chance romance. The author does an amazing job with the characters. They are both very deep and the author does an great job of bringing them to life.
I love how fiesty Marley is. After having to plan and attend her best friends wedding to her ex she was broken but she still had enough of a spark to leave a parting shot in her speech which made me feel like cheering for her.
This event led her to the chance meeting with Max and it would be a night neither of them would forget and it would change their lives forever.
But it was just a one night stand right? No names were exchanged and there was no way for them to contact each other again. So imagine Marley’s surprise when years later she bumps into Max again at a wedding she’s planning. But that isn’t the only surprise in story as Marley has a big surprise of her own.
Can they finally get their happy ever after? Will Marley’s secret make them stronger or destroy them before they begin? And when a series of crimes start to happen in Quimby Grove will it be too much for the couple to endure?

This is a beautifully written romance sent in Portugal in 1872. It is the second book in The Winemakers series but it can be read as a standalone and still really enjoyed.I can’t express how beautiful the author’s language and story telling in. There is so much emotion put into every page that the reader cant help but feel every emotion along with the characters which makes the story completely captivating.
It is a historical romance and the author does an amazing job of transporting the reader back to those times. Our main characters Pedro and Anne seem such an unlikely match at first but as the story progresses we see the same strength and determination in them back.

This story is action packed as Pedro’s past comes back to haunt him and he struggles to make amends for it all. When his marriage to a princess falls through and he is accused of an attempt on the Kings life he is forces to go on the run.

Add to this the fact that she is the sister of something Pedro has had problems with in his past, could their meeting be a coincidence? A way to maybe make amends? Sharing His Nanny (Forever Our Girl, #2)Sharing His Nanny by Tori Chase
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This was an enjoyable steamy romance read. I loved the characters. Each of them have a story which was interesting to uncover . I especially love Stella. She is a strong and feisty woman who won’t let anyone stop her dreams of being a fashion designer and she is prepared to do anything to make that happen.
Even if it means becoming a nanny for her handsome stepbrother. Despite the attraction she feels she knows this is her one chance to make her dreams to come true. Besides it’s only for a month what could go wrong?

This is a story full of passion and attraction. Not only between Stella and her stepbrother Charles but also his 2 friends Alex and Jordan. But what happens when the month is over and reality hits. They can all go back to their normal lives right? Boy how wrong they all are.

A Dowry of Snails and MudA Dowry of Snails and Mud by Brittany Tucker
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This book was a good read. I thoroughly enjoyed it. It’s a story about a peasant girl who is fiesty, has her own mind and bows down to no one. She is forced into a marriage with a Prince in the hopes of saving her village. Needless to say the marriage isn’t a happy one and things go wrong. They are losing the village and now the Prince has been kidnapped by a tribe called the Wildmen sworn enemies of the people of Lians. Now the Princess has to use everything ounce of courage and strength inside her, that the royals don’t like such as her not backing down from a fight or her sharp tongue to try and rescue the Prince which she now realises she does actually love and save her village.
Can she save the Prince in time? Will her village be saved or destroyed? And how will the snail’s Rhiannon despises become something she truly adores?

My Pearl Heart by J.N. Sheats – Review by Kerry Carr

My Pearl HeartMy Pearl Heart by J.N. Sheats
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This was a really enjoyable romance. The author does an amazing job with the characters. The characters are both fun and witty and they have backstories which really make them come alive. This is a story about meeting the one for you but things and circumstances being in the way.

James Conner is know as a drunk. His life has spiralled out of control but now he’s determined to get it back on track and a marriage of convenience seems like a the right idea. Or so he thought.
What he didn’t anticipate was meeting the wedding planner and his future brides best friend and sharing a kiss with her that blows his mind.

Jasmine Hayes is a successful business woman. She takes no prisoners and is a straight talker. She runs her business with her best friend so when she gets a call about an emergency she rushes to her aid not realising she would come face to face and lips to lips with the man of her dreams. However there is one problem. He is promised to her best friend and she wants Jasmine to plan the wedding.

So this is where we find our couple. Both feeling the spark between them but unable to do anything about it. Will there ever be a time for them to be together? Will James be able to pull his life back on track and if he can will Jasmine be a part of it?
This story is full of laughed and tears which makes it an emotional read that you can’t put down.

Night Hawke (The Hawke Family Second Generation Prequel) by Gwyn McNamee – Review by Kerry Carr

Night Hawke (The Hawke Family Second Generation #0.5)Night Hawke by Gwyn McNamee
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This is the start of the series about the second generation of the Hawke Family and I am so excited because it seems like its going to be just as amazing as the first series.
This book is like a teasing glimpse into the story of Issac and Jack’s story and while it is full of hot steamy action and attraction there are definately secrets which need to be uncovered.
I don’t want to give too much away but its a great read. When 2 people set out for an easy one night stand to forget real life and all the impending stress, neither of them were expecting anything more. With fake names all they have is this time together. But what happens if one of them wants more? And what will the outcome be when the secrets are revealed

Married Blind (King of Screen Book 2) by Morgana Bevan – Review by Kerry Carr

Married Blind (Kings of Screen, #2)Married Blind by Morgana Bevan
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I loved this contemporary romance. This is book 2 of the Kings of Screen series. Both of the main characters in this story have had hard pasts which make them the strong fiesty characters that we see. As the story progresses we learn their stories and their behaviours make sense.
I love the idea of marrying a complete stranger for a romance. Normally they meet and fall in love but in this story they didn’t get that option. The first time they met is their wedding day.

Finn is an actor who desperately needs to mend his reputation. Known as a playboy, messing with the wrong girl landed him in hot water and now he’s got to take drastic measure to make things right. Namely ending his playboy ways and getting married. It’s only for 3 months what could go wrong?

In walks Abi, she is everything Finn has dreamed about and more. Abi applied to the show to pay off her sister’s medical bills. She never imagined she would find romance but what happens when thats exactly what she wants from Finn?

Can a fake marriage turn into a real one? Will their attraction be enough for them to consider trying or will Finn’s past experiences mean he keeps pushing her away until he loses her for good?

I loved this story and couldn’t put it down as soon as I started.

Son of Asmodeus by Barb Jones – Review by Kerry Carr

Son of AsmodeusSon of Asmodeus by Barb Jones
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Wow. What a start to this new series. I was really gripped by this story and I couldn’t put it down. I loved how actioned packed it was and the mixture of heaven and hell and trying to find your place in the world really makes this a page turner.
The characters are really well written and because of this you feel invested in their stories.

John is a demon hunter. He used to be a monk but not he main focus is ridding the world of demons. Demons that humans aren’t even aware exist. Little is known of John’s upbringing or parentage but when those secrets are reveled it leaves him in a state of not knowing who he is anymore. When he’s spent his life vanquishing demons can he change his views?
Added to this story is the missing bartender and Mick who asks for John’s help in finding him. But things arent what they seem here as well which leads to move secrets and discoveries that neither John or Mick are aware off.

This story is action packed and full of twists and turns. You feel like you don’t know who to trust in this story which is exactly how John feels. When you are brought up to see either good or evil what do you do when your now told that there is a grey area and that you need to protect humans from angels as well as demons.

I really can’t wait to see where this series goes.
