This is an author that I have enjoyed reading from the first book I have picked up from her. They are well written stories where the author’s use of details give her stories a realistic feel. This book is no different. I enjoyed being pulled into the story from the beginning. This is the first book in this new series and what a great start. This is a story about time travel with a steamy hero. Kat is a jazz singer who is just finishing a tour when she meets a stranger who gifts her with a locket. This is where things start taking off. She finds a message in the locket and on top of that she stumbles upon a portal that takes her back in time. You will want to know what happens next. The characters are connectable and engaging. They brought the story to life on each page and kept me turning pages to the end. I enjoyed the growth of the plot throughout the story. I really enjoyed this story and highly recommend it.

Let me be the first to say, I’ve never read a book with time travel in it. I was drawn to the synopsis of this book though and I was mesmerized. The story line was breathtakingly beautiful. I would be so upset for missing out on this book. Kat and Phillip will pull you into their beautiful story and you won’t want to leave. I look forward to the next books!!

I cannot praise Love’s Refrain enough! It was an absolutely spectacular read!! True love and true longing wrapped up in a beautiful musical bow. The angst can be intense at times but it is so worth the ending! It made me swoon. One of the best love stories I have ever read.

This a such a beautifully written romance. It captivated me from the beginning. The author does an amazing job of describing the scenes, the music, the clothes of the era that you actually feel like you are reliving it in the present.
This isn’t your usual romance, the time travel element makes the story of love all the more amazing and beautiful. The fact that Phillip has held onto his love for Kat for all these years is amazing.
When Kat meets Phillip she has no idea of the past they shared together until she is transpoted back to 1947 and the true story of her life and her love for Phillip is revealed.
It is an amazingly written story which has so many elements to it that make it unique but the one constant is that love can withstand any test of time.

Love’s Refrain is the first book in The Stardust Duet By K.G Fletcher. This is something a little different to the other books of Ms. Fletcher’s that I have read, in that it is a time-travel romance- some of the elements may be a bit different but this has Ms. Fletcher’s distinctive style stamped all over it, as well as the musical connection that she loves to include in her stories. This story follows Kat Monroe, a jazz singer, who has returned to her hometown for the last performances of her latest tour. She may not live in the town anymore, but she feels that she ‘owes’ this to her fans, performing again ‘where it all began’. But she really isn’t prepared for what happens next. Her life takes an unexpected turn when she is gifted a mysterious locket, and then finds herself transported through time to 1947…. And through Ms. Fletcher’s clever and imaginative storytelling, the era comes to life through her wonderfully descriptive scene setting and attention to detail. What happens next held me completely captivated- I loved every minute of this wonderful story, and I really can’t wait to dive into the second book.

I could literally write my own novel about how amazing and great this book was. It was so good and engaging from literally everything the book brought on. I am a die hard romance lover and this one really took the cake if you want my humble opinion! The love story that expanded through out the story was more than just a good time, it was truly remarkable and one you will not forget for sometime!
Kat and Phillip were more than jut a great love story, they had a story that needed to be told, despite and against all odds. Their love was beautiful and gripping in so many different ways. The things they had gone through and through out the hands of time was honestly one of the best love stories I have had the pleasure of reading in some time. I was moved in so many ways by their love and what they had to go through to be together as well as to add time now and time again! It was moving and emotional all at the same time. Their love is if you had it, I believe a lot of us would do exactly as they did to be together.
To say I was captivated as I read through this gripping beautiful story would easily be an understatement. I had more than a urge to find out what happened next, I literally was on the edge of my seat with suspense as well as my own hope hoping things would end positive for them, and they would bet= together even if the odds were or are against Kat and Phillip! For me, Phillip and Kat did not live for themselves, but rather for one another! If they did not have one another perhaps they would not consider their life worth living! Their love was endlessly beautiful across all and any distances of time!
This was a different love story, and one that I feel all of us should read! It truly captivated my truly and I was left wanting so much more when I came to competition of the book. I was moved truly in so many different ways, and I felt so much and more, it was wonderful to read a book really about the power of true love, and basically what we would do to even have a moment for that true love to be alive again in our souls, hearts, minds, and as well as our body! The book and how the author wrote the beautiful words they did, was more than a beautiful story. It truly is a love story I will happily always carry with me!

Present Day, Katherine ‘Kat’ Monroe, a celebrated jazz singer, is just ending her first national tour when she meets an elderly stranger who gifts her a locket with a mysterious message tucked inside. Through a series of events, Kat stumbles upon a strange portal in the theater and is suddenly transported to the postwar community of her beloved town…1947.
Kat is thrust into the intrigues of a world that threatens her career and may break her heart. Navigating her way amid risk, passion, and jealousy, she learns her only chance of understanding what has happened lies in Phillip Gordon, a handsome young pianist. Georgia Clay (Southern Promises Book One) by KG Fletcher was a great read! This was a quick and sweet read. Also very steamy so definitely an 18+ book. I loved reading Clay and Katie’s story. They fit together so perfectly! I’ve actually been wanting to read this book and this series for awhile so I’m glad I finally got a chance to and I wasn’t disappointed! By the way this ended I’m pretty sure it’s a stand a long book and series and I can’t wait to read the next installment of this series.

This book pulls you in right from the start with super relatable characters who attend the dreaded 10-year high school reunion. I mean who hasn’t had nightmares about that thing and the way Ms. Fletcher draws you back into your own memories through the character descriptions and obvious high school cliques. So, when a chance encounter happens between Katie and Clay, the irresistible pull draws them closer together. What starts with a simple admission from Clay about having a crush on Katie since high school turns into a full-blown fling. Will it be a one-time thing, or can Clay go against his ideas about having a long-distance relationship? Can Katie come to terms with promises made or risk the career she worked so hard for? This is a must-read romance book perfect for summer reading on the beach. The characters are incredibly relatable, and it’s hard not to want to find out what will happen between Katie and Clay!

Georgia Clay (Southern Promises Book 1) by KG Fletcher
This is another fantastic read by Fletcher. This story had me on the edge of my seat the entire time. You’ll fall in love with Georgia Clay and Katie.
Katie is loving her career filled life. Never one to take time off. She goes to her high school reunion and finds herself with Clay Watkins. One thing leads to another and she is falling hard. The quote I chose Katie is: “I can’t believe it’s happening. I’m finally traveling and it’s not for work.”
Clay is a big up and coming music writer. He’s penned some great songs big name artists have sung. Going to the ten year reunion was just what he needed. The quote I chose for Clay is: “I know it’s selfish of me, but I really just wanted to hang out with you for a little longer before I head back to Nashville. I’m not ready to say goodbye to you, Katie Parker.”
Highly recommended for Contemporary Romance lovers.

Georgia Clay by KG Fletcher is the first book in the Southern Promises series. I really enjoyed reading the story of a romance between a country music writer and a career-minded woman. The two seem an unlikely pair but it develops from a long night of talking to a long-distance romance. Can Georgia Clay and Katie Parker make their differences work? I liked these characters because they are not just young, beautiful, and talented but still have a realness to them. There are struggles and moments of being unsure but the two matches each other well. I read through this quickly and did not want to put it down until I finished the story. I appreciate the author putting so much of herself into the book with her knowledge of the music business in Nashville to create a realistic and engaging read. I look forward to where this series goes next and reading more from this author soon.

Admittedly, I do not prefer country music. However, if I had a high school crush that wrote songs about me… I probably would! This book had me from the beginning. I LOVE both Katie and Clay. They are perfect for each other! The ending almost had me in tears… You could FEEL the emotions coming off the page and swirling around inside you. <3
Side note, the author has a disclaimer at the beginning of the book that it is intended for an 18 and older reader. I appreciated their consideration for other readers in doing that.

This is the first book that I have read by this author and I was hooked. Clay is a Nashville country song writer and Katie is a workaholic who has climbed the corporate ladder one rung at a time. Their paths cross after 10 years at their high school reunion. It is fireworks from the beginning, but with their different lives, can they make things work? They both have to make some touch decisions. It was a cute love story and the characters jumped off the pages for me.

This book is a perfect romance, Clay sees his high school crush Katie at their school reunion years later, they both realise there is still a spark between them and you find out that Katie also had the hots for Clay back in high school. After realising this they both decided to have a weekend full of hot sex, but a weekend is not going to be enough for them and they live miles apart due to career paths. Can they make it work? or will Clay have to sacrifice his job in songwriting that he worked so hard for finally spending his life with the one he loves.

If you see me running away to Nashville to fall in love don’t question why! This book was the ideal romance. From the beginning that brings Clay and Katie together in a simple and flawless way, to the very end where EVERYTHING works out. There were a couple of times the author had me ready to throw my phone against the wall thinking that everything was going to go wrong. Of course with the hanging suspense it made the book all the better. The romance, the sexual tension, the southern boy, the family connections made this book phenomenal. Watching Katie and Clay come together and get their happy ending was honestly so fun!! I cannot wait for sequel. I would love to follow Heart or Katie and Clay in the future.

It’s the 10 year reunion for Katie and Clay. Crushes are revealed and a wonderful night is spent getting reacquainted. Sparks fly and chemistry sparks, these two have something there. Steamy romantic moments abound by the river, at the lake and throughout the story. I love the friendship they have. I found myself laughing at some of the escapades. Katie’s friends always seemed to drop in at the wrong time. Best ending I loved. The best part of the book is that it felt like it could have been from anyone’s life. Annoying friends, long distance relationships, hard choices, these are ell things we often have to deal with. The author just infused them with some humor to make it a great story.

Georgia Clay (Southern Promises Book 1) by K.G. Fletcher is a romance book.
Georgia Clay is well-known in Nashville. He’s the dashing, award-winning songwriter who rubs shoulders with country music’s elite. Clay, a great performer in his own right, has always been hesitant to take the stage on his own for fear of exposing his crippling childhood secret. Katie Parker is a workaholic Southern beauty who prioritizes her profession over her personal life. Her perseverance and gumption in ascending the corporate ladder are as impressive as her understanding of the cutthroat insurance industry she has expertly navigated over the years. In the heat of Atlanta July, the musician and business lady meet each other at their ten-year high school reunion and end up in the back of his pickup truck, chatting till dawn. Can Clay acknowledge to Katie that she had his heart a long time ago as they continue their passionate long-distance relationship? Will Georgia Clay’s ambition and support ultimately convince him to take a gamble on his career and love?
I loved this story and the concept of it as well.I loved every page of it. Every chapter was exciting. This is the first book in the series and I can’t wait to read more.
Shy musician meets corporate career woman and sparks fly- a compelling read. I admired the insight into each character. While it is great to have self-confidence, I appreciated the hurdles that Clay had to overcome to go on tour. Let us be honest that everyone loves a success story, and this is no different. Both characters are relatable. Katie struggles with supporting Clay on a new venture vs putting her career first. That is relatable as it is easy to stay within our comfort zones instead of stepping out in faith. Clay battles his insecurities that stem from childhood, again all relatable as we all have insecurities. This story is not far-fetched- it is not something that is mind blogging or incomprehensible I liked that. I loved that K.G presented another facet to musicians. Clay and Katie’s relationship is real, raw, and organic and for that I am appreciative.

I thoroughly enjoyed this entertaining and engaging second chance at love romance and thought it was a great first book in a new series, ‘Southern Promises’. Georgia Clay an award winning songwriter is well known in Nashville and meets up with his high school crush, workaholic Southern beauty Katie Parker at their ten year high school reunion. Old feelings resurface and the couple spend until the early hours talking in Clay’s pickup truck. The pair then start a long distance relationship but Clay has never admitted to Katie that he fell in love with her years ago. Clay has never stepped into the spotlight himself despite his incredible talent as he’s worried that his debilitating childhood secret will be revealed. Meanwhile, Katie is a cut throat workaholic who is skilled in the insurance business.
When the musician and the career woman meet again their chemistry sizzles off the page leading to some steamy moments. Hopefully Katie’s love will ensure that Clay takes a chance both on love and on his career. The main characters were very likeable and relatable and the secondary characters were intriguing so I’m hoping they will get stories of their own. The setting was bought to life by the descriptive narrative and the storyline flowed well making it an easy read. The plot kept me happily turning the pages and I was hooked from page one. I look forward to reading further books in this series.

This is the first book in the Southern Promises Series. It is a beautiful romance about two people who went to school together meeting up again at their high school reunion and falling in love. The characters are well written that you feel invested in them. What I liked about this story was there wasn’t any danger of someone splitting them up. This romance grew and blossomed.
Clay is a songwriter and Katie is a successful insurance executive. Both of them have successful lifes and have done well since school. Clay has always liked Katie but always felt she was out of his league but now that’s changed.
When they meet again at the school reunion the sparks and attraction was still there and after spending the night together they decide to give a long term relationship a try. Can they make it work? Both are focused on their careers but will they be able to make room for each other in their lives?

Georgia Clay was such a beautiful love story! I was hooked from the first meeting between Clay and Katie. I loved how sweet their story was and how it didn’t have the usual turbulence of the genre. When Katie got on the Harley and saw the vanity plate, my heart just about burst! Talk about a beautiful, karmic moment. I absolutely loved the lightness of the story and how endearing it was. It was the perfect summer read that hit all the right heartstrings.

Georgia Clay (Southern Promises Book 1) by KG Fletcher
4 out of 5 Stars
Georgia Clay had me screaming at my phone! In some parts because I was laughing, and in some parts because I didn’t want the character to do what they were choosing. This story has all the feels and knows how to use them.
Katie Parker went to her 10 year highschool reunion for her best friend, Stacey. Katie was a workaholic and liked it. She had time in her hectic schedule for things that mattered, work, family, work, and friends. Did she mention work? Katie had climbed her way to almost the top of the ladder at her insurance firm because she earned every rung. Coming out of the bathroom at the reunion, Katie bumps into Clay Watkins. Will this accidental meeting turn into more than just bruised toes?
Clay Watkins discovered his love of music early. He always knew it was going to be his dream. After graduating high school, Clay makes his way to Nashville and builds a name for himself before heading back for his high school reunion. Bumping into Katie was just another way the fates were looking out for Clay. As Katie and Clay get to know each other all over again Clay is offered the chance of a lifetime. Could it be that Katie is the missing piece for Clay? WIll Katie have to choose between her dream and Clay’s?
The emotional rollercoaster that KG Fletcher takes you on from the beginning has a true payoff in the end. In between the cheers and jeers, the characters worm their way into your heart and take root there, I am glad that this is a series so I can see where Katie and Clay go!

I absolutely loved this book. It is the first time I have read a book from author K. G. Fletcher. It was amazing. I was holding my breath and my heart stopped I’m sure as I continued reading. The reuniting of Katie and Clay at their high school reunion has sparks flying. The characters are so likeable and you want everything to work out for them. They live 4 hours apart. Will the long distance and their busy careers make or break them. I couldn’t wait to find out. A great book to cuddle up in a comfy chair on the beach or inside by the fire. I’ll say it again, I loved, loved this book.

Un-put-down-able First book from this author for me and I think I have stumbled upon a brilliant series. Loved the writing, the characters, the setting and the story line. The story didn’t get caught up on too much angst and just moved along at a nice pace. The maturity of the characters wasn’t compromised to create unnecessary drama – it was fairly straightforward and real. Once I started I was sucked right in and didn’t want to leave. Romance, country music and southern hospitality. Really loved Clay and Katie and hope that we get insights into their life in future books.

He’s the handsome, award-winning songwriter rubbing elbows with the elite stars of country music. An incredible talent in his own right, Clay has always hesitated to step into the spotlight on his own for fear his debilitating childhood secret will rear its ugly head.
Katie Parker is a workaholic Southern beauty who’s first love is her career. It’s not just her knowledge of the cut-throat insurance business she has skillfully navigated over the years, but her tenacity and gumption in climbing the corporate ladder.
The musician and career woman run into each other in the heat of the Atlanta summer at their ten-year high school reunion and unexpectedly end up in the bed of his pickup truck talking till dawn. As they forge ahead in a passionate long-distance relationship, can Clay admit to Katie she had his heart a long, long time ago? Will her drive and encouragement finally be the reason Georgia Clay takes a chance on his career…and love?
