Bound (the Torzial Affair Book #2) by Via Mari – Review by Krystal Gaston

Bound (The Torzial Affair Book 2)Bound by Via Mari
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

The Torzial Affair Book 2: Bound written by Via Mari. I was pretty excited for this book after reading book one, Shattered. I love reading Jenny’s story even though it’s sad, disturbing at times and super stressful with everything she’s been through and going through it makes you wonder if her life is ever going to get better and stay positive for more than a few weeks at a time. Ty has done a lot of damage to her life as a whole and even from the grave his actions are a direct threat to her and Torzial. You learn a lot about Matt in this story where he’s normally more of a secondary character he becomes more present and out of the shadows. I’m even more excited to see how book three (Claimed) goes and if Jenny ever gets her chance at happily ever after.

Pandora's Poison (Hart & Cole Book 2)Pandora’s Poison by Sacha T. Y. Fortuné
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Pandora’s Poison: Hart and Cole book two by Sacha T.Y. Fortune. If you haven’t read book one Climbing The Walls do it, it’s the beginning of this great series centered on Darren and Luisa. Pandora’s Poison is a great follow up to Climbing the Walls, as everything gets more complicated and all the lies and omissions come out will anyone survive it unscathed. Louisa is lying so much it hard to keep up, Darren doesn’t know what to believe but he knows what he has to do to get the answers. Gianni is more involved in this story along with Kris. There is a lot going on with Pandora’s Poison but it makes the story so good. I can’t wait to read Pandora’s Price.

Nothing But Trouble (Irresistible Billionaires #1)Nothing But Trouble by Ashley Bostock
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Nothing But Trouble: Irresistible Billionaires by Ashley Bostock. Nothing But Trouble pulled me in right away with how Michael came to the bright idea of creating a fake dating profile to Sophia and her quick witted remarks. I love the push and pull between the characters and even though he’s a billionaire he has real life issues and doubts. And Sophie, well she’s about as real life as it gets with her job and problems. I found myself enjoying this story a lot and it was a nice break from what I had been reading. It has the perfect mix of problems, solutions, jealous ex’s, break ups and of course make ups. I look forward to reading the next book about Cole.

Beneath the Surface (Gray Ghost #3)Beneath the Surface by Amy McKinley
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Beneath The Surface by Amy McKinley is book three in The Gray Ghost Novels. This is Hannah and Jack’s story. If you read the previous stories you will have no issues following the storyline honestly even if you haven’t it is an easy story to follow however pieces of information and other stuff is shared between previous stories and parts from them make more sense. It was pretty smart how Amy McKinley casually snuck in random thoughts and acts from previous stories and gave the explanation in Beneath The Surface. While I liked all the stories I think this one may have been my favorite. Hannah is a strong character and even though she starts out for all the wrong reasons she turns her life around and gets the chance with Jack she deserves.

The Shape of Trust (Stand By Me, #5)The Shape of Trust by Brinda Berry
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

The Shape of Trust : A Stand By Me Novel Book five written by Brinda Berry. The Shape Of Trust is a cute story about want, need and self control when you think something is wrong. Lilly is a cute yet seductive character, you don’t expect it from her at first and as the story goes on you see her coming out of her shell more boldly to get what she wants, Webb. Webb is a man with a past that he’s not proud of, he’s worked hard to get to where he is. And then a daughter is thrust into his life and changes everything. Reading as Lilly lusts after Webb and he denies any attraction because he thinks she’s too young and too innocent is entertaining because that’s what makes Lilly’s boldness come out. As the story progresses you see them both come out of their shell but will they ever make it past the friends and employee relationship.

Flash Point (Nite Fire, #1)Flash Point by C.L. Schneider
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Nite Fire: Chain Reaction by C. L. Schneider. I went into this story not really putting much thought into it, it sounded okay and I liked the cover but it was one of those I’m in a reading rutt and need something new to read stories. This is my first story by C.L. Schneider and im glad I gave it a shot. Dahlia Nite is a great character and though she has some secrets she’s keeping from her partner Creed she’s doing it to protect him. Nite Fire has a great storyline that’s unique and different from other dragon shifter stories. I’m glad I gave it a shot I’m looking forward to reading book two, Nite Fire: Chain Reaction.

Shattered by Via Mari – Review by Krystal Gaston

Shattered (The Torzial Affair Book 1)Shattered by Via Mari
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

The Torzial Affair Book 1: Shattered by Via Mari. If you read the Prestian Series about Chase and Katarina then you will remember Jenny, Kat’s best friend and boss at Torzial. You read about some bad stuff happening to Jenny. Shattered is Jenny’s story, it tells you about the bad stuff that happened between Jenny and Ty, and there is a warning in the beginning of the book. However it’s a great story and I loved reading about how strong, independent and willing Jenny is. Brian is a great character also, you don’t read too much about him in the Prestian Series but he is there. He is also more present along with a few more characters making repeat appearances. I am eager to start book two, Bound.

Heart of a Hunk: A Limited-Edition Collection of Bad Boy, Billionaire and Hunky Romance HeroesHeart of a Hunk: A Limited-Edition Collection of Bad Boy, Billionaire and Hunky Romance Heroes by Nicole Morgan
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

1/8 hearts of a hunk anthology:
A Kiss Under A Blue Christmas Moon (Daydreams and Dragonflies 4) written by Tamara Ferguson. This is a cute short story that has some familiar people and places if you have read any of Tamara Fergusons Two Hearts Wounded Warrior Series. Dragonfly Pointe is a magical place and is said to help along true love, Mia and Noah are no different than anyone else who has experienced true love at Dragonfly Pointe. Mia and Noah are cute characters and you watch them quickly grow up from high school strangers to friends to lovers to strangers again. Until Noah comes home and Mia comes home, and Dragonfly Pointe is not letting them get away again. I love the idea and stories behind Dragonfly Pointe and all the stories this one included. It’s a sweet story that had some heartbreak, anger and loss and of course love.
Foxxy Christmas written by Allyson R Abbott this story has it’s ups and downs as you go you feel bad for Foxxy and her life. Then as the story goes you realize you feel bad for the people who have wronged her because she’s a lot stronger than anyone gave her credit for, including herself, until she feels like she has nothing and no one left. So why not make a new life for herself. I liked Foxxy a lot as a character she had her moments of weakness but we all do. Then there’s Richard and Jerry, they are quite the pair with their story and how they randomly show up in Foxxys life. Overall the story was well written, it flowed good and I enjoyed it.

Alive (Sundown Series Book 3)Alive by Courtney Konstantin
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Alive (The Sundown Series) written by Courtney Konstantin. This is not my normal genre as I tend to creep myself out with this type of story. Charlie and Rafe are the two main characters and the story is told in alternating point of view depending on the scene. As the story progresses you gain more details and characters. Alive is a good story and I did enjoy it, I was eager to see how it would end and what would happen with all the characters, including “the suit”.

Awakening Of A Soul Keeper - Prequel to the Soul Keeper SeriesAwakening Of A Soul Keeper – Prequel to the Soul Keeper Series by Brienne Dubh
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Awakening of a Soul Keeper: Prequel to The Soul Keeper Series written by Brienne Dubh. This is a quick short read. You get to know Theodora, Sam, Lyzander and Roman along with how they met. I have not read the other stories in the book so getting to know them as the stories progress will be interesting based off of this. I like Theodora she seemed like a strong character whether she was defending herself or just being herself (even if she had to be a mouthy). Lyzander I think will be interesting to get to know, he seems like the big bad alpha male (which is expected since he’s technically the king). I’m curious to see where the story goes and the way this ends definitely makes you want more.

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Santa’s Little Helper written by Shaan Ranae. I liked this story and I loved the chemistry between Jake and Sam especially when she’s telling him off. I loved the store’s story and how Jake was trying to give his parents what he thinks they deserve. This story is about understanding what you have and how to appreciate it before it changes or you lose it for good. The one thing I didn’t like was how quickly Sam’s opinion changed of Jake, it made me not like her a little bit.

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

The Memory of Us written by Lisa Sorbe. This is a cute second chance story about Laney and West. There’s a lot of push and pull with their relationship and with everything that happened in the past. Laney is a little hard to get to know as a character but the more into the story the more you start to understand why. West on the other hand is pretty open about certain things especially when it comes to messing with Laney and getting her to open up. But once every thing is out in the open will thing work out like they should have or is there too much in their past for them to move forward with a new relationship…

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Rising Star written by Susannah Nix is a Starstruck Novel. Alice and Griffin are adorable. They are both standoffish at first with Griffin being an actor he’s used to putting on a show for every one and everything. Alice however is the exact opposite when It comes to attention, she would much rather be behind the scenes. Watching Alice come out of her shell and revert to the fun loving character that she used to be is fun and eye opening. Griffin is entertaining to read about when it comes to Alice. Should he? Shouldn’t he? Seems to be the last common thought lately when it comes to anything related to Alice.

Building Storm: (A Hawke Family Novel) (The Hawke Family Book 4)Building Storm: (A Hawke Family Novel) by Gwyn McNamee
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Building Storm by Gwen McNamee is book 4 in the Hawke Family Series. This is Storms story, hopefully by this point you’ve already read Savage, Skye and Stones stories. Storms is no different it’s full of a story that makes you want to finish is right away, some drama, action and some major stress relief going on. The rest of the Hawke siblings and their spouses are present in the story as needed along with some new and old characters. Gwen McNamee had a unique writing style and I’ve come to love all her stories because they are always different, while the stories may feed off of the previous one in small aspects they are always their own story.

Claiming Her Mates by Dia Cole – Review by Krystal Gaston

Claiming Her Mates (Claiming Her Mates #1)Claiming Her Mates by Dia Cole
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Claiming Her Mates book one written by Dia Cole. This is a genre I enjoy reading. It’s always a nice break from reality to read this type of story. Claiming Her Mates has a few unique twists to it though, so it’s definitely not your average shifter story. Vana (Havana) is working as a stripper just trying to get by since she no longer works for Nathan (who’s also her ex). With a virus being spread around she doesn’t have many options when three gorgeous men show up and say they need her to go with them, that Nathan sent them.
This story gets your attention from the beginning and hold it with vanas mouthy comments and the need the men have when it comes to her. Only things aren’t always what they seem…especially when there’s one female and three males stuck at the sanctuary during a snow storm….what could possibly go wrong, I mean how hard would it be to stay away from her….turns out, impossibly hard.

The Debt Collector (An Underground Bad Boys Romance)The Debt Collector by India Kells
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

The Debt Collector by India Kells. This was a great quick read, for me it was over pretty quick as the story oukked me in right away then you add Locke and Gages sexual exploits into the story along with Locke and Tessa’s. This story is a mixture of erotica, suspense and some romance to me. I liked Locke, he was a strong, dominating, alpha male but he still had the nice, caring side that came out on occasion. Tessa was a great character, she was a mixture of dominate and subordinate depending on what the situation called for. Overall the story was great, the imagry from the scenes was good a deal you wanted more the entire time.

Allyson Abbott has written another great addition to the Christmas Kiss Series with A Frothy Christmas Kiss. These stories can all be read as a stand alone and they are all unique in their own way. This is Kat’s story and she meets Dan in a hilarious and embarrassing way that sets a great pace for the whole story. I have to admit Brian was my favorite part of this story, I loved him. Then there’s Spencer and Kat’s dad and well a lot of other characters who make this story as good and funny as it is.

It Ends Tonight: Bayou Devils MC book 4 written by A.M. Myers. This is probably my favorite of the series. Quinn made me laugh and cry with this story. Lucas is a great character and always trying to do whatever he thinks is best, especially when it comes to his younger brother. From the moment Quinn and Lucas meet they feel comfortable with each other which is a weird feeling considering how they meet. Quinn and Lucas both have a bad past but are trying to make the best of the present and are not thinking of the future. I cried for Quinn, you feel for her and what she’s going through and then there’s Lucas. The storyline is amazing, the characters are fabulous as always and it’s full of surprises.

After moving back and taking over her father’s shop Billie and Leroys have a few run in and secrets start to come out as to why Leroy didn’t leave with Billie. Degrees of Power (Prestian Series, #4)Degrees of Power by Via Mari
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Degrees of Power is book 4 in The Prestian Series written by Via Mari. This is a great series and I would suggest starting at book 1: Degrees of Innocence. The one thing Chase craves above all else is for Katarina to trust him and allow him control in certain aspects. Trust that he can handle Alfreita and the threat he poses along with being honest and not withholding anything. Chase and Katarina have had more issues and struggles than your average couple but will they finally be able to just be a couple with no outside interruptions. This whole series is amazing, it crosses so many issues with trust, control, faith in your self and others and forgiveness. There’s also a nice mixture of drama in the story. Degrees of Power will keep you wanting more throughout the entire story.

Climbing the walls: Hart and Cole book one written by Sacha Fortune. This was a different read for me it starts out slow with stuff going on to get you wondering which direction the story will take and you make guesses. But your not prepared for the direction it actually takes. There is a lot of emotions going on in this story, from love to jealousy to sadness and everything in between. Nicole I’m not a big fan of as a character though she was the perfect character for the story. Kris I had mixed feeling with I feel like he was a bit of a pushover until he was pushed too far and even then he was pretty soft about his actions. Overall I enjoyed the story and the ride it took me on.
