DANGEROUS GROUND: Tina and Chase’s Story (Under Ground Book 5) by Alice Rachel – Review by Krystal Gaston

Dangerous Ground: Tina and Chase's StoryDangerous Ground: Tina and Chase’s Story by Alice Rachel
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Dangerous Ground is a part of the Underground Series written by Alice Rachel and should be read before Breaking Ground. This is Tina and Chases story. There is a trigger warning at the beginning of the story warning those who may not be able to handle certain situations. With that being said I thought it was a great story with intense emotions and characters. There are a few pages to help you get reacquainted with characters, places, etc. Dangerous Grounds story is told like all the others in the series with strong characters, strong emotions and strong storylines.

Truly Unfortunate (Welcome To Knollville Book 1)Truly Unfortunate by C.A. King
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Truly Unfortunate written by C.A. King. This is definitely not my first book by C.A. King and it won’t be my last each book has a unique spin and twist that you love and hate as the story goes. Truly Unfortunate is no different, as the story progresses you think you have it figured out, you for your own case and motive and then boom something else happens and you have to rethink everything. Then the end comes and you realize you were right and wrong the entire time but you can’t wait to see if there is another book and how it goes.

Mouse Trapped: Satan's Devils MC #9Mouse Trapped: Satan’s Devils MC #9 by Manda Mellett
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Mouse Trapped by Manda Mellett is book 9 in the Satan’s Devil’s Series. This is Mouses story and while you see him come and go from the previous stories there’s never much to him he’s the man behind the curtain for the MC. In Mouse Trapped you get a more in depth look at who mouse is and his part in the series. Marianna is a strong woman and while she has a few break downs she puts on a good front when she needs to. This story is about their weird relationship and the fear of deportation. There are ups and downs as you getting the story and the previous books come together even more while reading this.

The First Backwards ChristmasThe First Backwards Christmas by Brooke Williams
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

The First Backwards Christmas written by Brooke Williams. This story is a short quick read, and is about giving a town hope at a second chance. The storyline was a bit odd with the handstands but the rest of it was cute. Jack and Joy make a cute couple who are willing to try anything to save the town they love. Even if it means having a backwards Christmas.

Courage (The Sisterhood Series #2)Courage by Chelsi Arnold
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Courage written by Chelsi Arnold is the second book in The Sisterhood Series, it could be read as a standalone however book one, Brave, was also a great story and had a lot of background information to it, like what happened to everyone, especially Angelette. Courage is a book about having to do something and while u may hate it, or feel gratification you must be brave to get it done. The story is a good read and will pull you in right away.

A Must For Christmas-A Darling Cove Novella written by Deborah Garland. This is Faith and Greg’s novella with the ending you have wanted since you read Must Have Faith which is book two in the Darling Cove Series and it follows up perfectly with Must Be Crazy book three in the series. This novella has its ups and downs and hits a few emotions just like all the other Darling Cove books. A Must For Christmas is full of all the characters you have read about and love. What will happen to Faith and Greg when secrets come to light and they make the big step to Parenthood.

The Prestian Series book three: Degrees of Control written by Via Mari. Degrees of Control is a great addition to the Prestian Series and I can’t wait to read what’s next in the series. This is a continuation of Kate and Chases relationship and the many struggles they continue to face. With now threats and Kate struggling with secrets being kept can she trust Chase when it means the most of will her past issues make her unable to trust Chase. I love how much Kate grows into her self in this book, she’s always had her struggles but she is trying now and knows what she fears and wants out of life. But will the answer come to her when it’s too late…

The Prestian Series book two: Degrees of Acceptance written by Via Mari. Degrees of Acceptance is the perfect title for this story as Kate learns to accept Chases lifestyle and move forward with their relationship. This story follows book one perfectly and has new characters introduced that you didn’t know if you would ever get to meet them. With drama happening constantly and a few new threats coming out will Kate and Chase ever have a moment to just relax and get to know each other.

Jesse (Glass City Hearts book three) by Desiree Lafawn – Review by Krystal Gaston

Jesse (Glass City Hearts Book 3)Jesse by Desiree Lafawn
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Desiree Lafawn has done it again with a great addition to the Glass City Hearts Series. Jesse is book three in the series and all about Jesse. If you read the previous two stories (which I hope you did) you remember Jesse from when Angel was kidnapped. This story hit a few spots with me it’s main focus in on Harlow who’s a struggling single mom with a crappy past. Jesse is about struggles, moving forward and new beginnings. As you read the story you know something is going to happen you just aren’t sure in what way and then it does and you feel relieved that it finally happened and you can relax. There’s a slow steady build up, then the climax, and a nice clean ending. The previous characters are in the story and play significant roles especially Dino with his big bad self.

An Agreement (Summer in New York, #3)An Agreement by Lindsay Marie Miller
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

An Agreement: Summer in New York book three by Lindsay Marie Miller. This was a difficult story to read, not because of the story, that was great but the characters made you feel so much. An Agreement is about getting a second chance at love and life. Even if you don’t think you deserve it, or your not good enough, all the negative thoughts, fears, doubts and blame for past experiences. The main characters Bailey and Carter each have a difficult past and secrets they aren’t sure they want to come out but eventually they all come out and every time they take one step forward it’s three more steps back. With they ever move past their fears and doubts and just be happy?

Distant MemoryDistant Memory by Colleen S. Myers
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Colleen S. Myers has done it again with Book three in The Solum Series: Distant Memory. I continue to love the characters and I really want to see Finn and Beta together. I get it her and Marin are mates and married but Finn was there first. This is the story we’ve been waiting for where Beta and Xade have their moment, more than one actually. There are also new characters introduced that are surprising and add a new twist to the story. I am hoping there is a book four in the series but with the ending it could go either way. I wasn’t sure I would like the series when I first started it but I have grown to love it and I was excited when I saw book three was out finally.

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Must Be Crazy: Darling Cove Series Book 3 written by Deborah Garland. This is a nice series each book is about a different person yet they all relate to the previous characters. This story is Skye’s story, if you have read the previous books then you will recognize her. If you have not read the previous stories you can still read this as a standalone. Skye had been through a lot, now she’s trying to help her father as much as possible with the assistant of her family. Atleast until her ex comes back into her life, but she needs something from him like he needs something from her. The story is full of surprises and ups and downs just like the others in the story.

Hard as Steel: Book four (Hard as Steel: Book four by Virginia Wine
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Hard as Steel Book 4 in the Surviving Series written by Virginia Wine. I really this as a standalone. Steel Archer is a difficult yet loyal man. He and his team have accomplished a lot and been through a lot. The chemistry between the characters is hot and cold, as Steel and Nichole figure out what’s going on in their lives as a couple while still maintaining their careers. As FBI Nichole has a lot on her plate and she doesn’t want all of her hard work to go to the back burner. Then there’s Steel who has been through so much then with the surprise of Grace, then Flynn’s feelings it adds new issues. Overall I enjoyed the story and it’s unique storyline.

Bound by Blood: Crescent City Wolf Pack book three written by Carrie Pulkinen is where Macey’s world comes together. Have you ever wondered if Bryce (Maceys partner) was going to get his own story? Well this is it. Bryce and Alexis (Macey’s sister) have a hot and cold relationship they both want each other but neither will go after it. With the perfect amount of drama and a unique storyline that varies with the characters personalities. Neverland by Melissa Jane – Review by Krystal Gaston

NeverlandNeverland by Melissa Jane
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Neverland but Melissa Jane I will start with this is such a good, addicting, and somewhat of a dark read. Neverland starts out sad but Lucy has such a strong will to not only live but survive, she never gives up and that keeps her going so much longer than most. Through the story you get flashbacks to when she was younger and first met Dominic and her friendship with Romeo. The story is told mainly from Lucy’s point of view, and you feel so bad for her, one can only endure so much. I read this story in one day I both loved and hated it, I was dreading the end though because there was so many ways it could go. I was not disappointed with the ending the story went out with a bang. Literally. I am looking forward to reading some more or Melissa Jane’s books.

Credence WoodsCredence Woods by Alexandria Sure
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Credence woods written by Alexandria Sure was a good slow and savory type of read. It’s not one that pulls you in instantly, it has a slow build but there’s a lot of personal thoughts in it from Kennedy’s point of view. Her self doubts, fears, everything. It makes you stop and think about things and how you treat people along with the inner scars versus the outer. Max is a true southern gentleman throughout the story, he did have one flaw at the end and it was a big one to me. It does give you a happily ever after which is good based off of all the emotions you hit with Kennedy. I loved Hank, he added a funny and more relaxed feel to the story with his demanding ways.

As she moves on with her life she faces new struggles and The Plot is how she moves forward in her life and also seeks revenge on those who hurt her and will continue to hurt others in the same way.

Small Town Hero: Small Town Brides Book One by Kim Koby – Review by Krystal Gaston

Small Town Hero (Small Town Brides, #1)Small Town Hero by Kim Koby
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Small Town Hero written by Kim Koby is book one in The Small Town Brides Series. This is one of those books where you wonder if it’s based off of someone the author knew or if it was just a great storyline that’s not very common in books. There’s no sex scenes, foul language, or any violence but somehow that makes the story even more sweet. It’s a cute romance story about moving on and taking chances. Getting a new start in life when you thought you had everything you wanted, or needed. The main characters are different in the sense that Rebecca is more outspoken, the city girl until her car breaks down in a small country town. Then the handsome country boy (Ryan) swoops in to help her and doesn’t take no for an answer. It was a cute story and a nice break from what I normally read. I can’t wait to read book two Small Town Girl which is about Ryan’s brother Sam.

Calling the CurveballCalling the Curveball by Tracey Cramer-Kelly
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Calling The Curveball book one in The Lawson Family Series written by Tracey Cramer-Kelly. This is a story about getting a second chance at happiness and a future. Jamie has isn’t looking for love or anything. He’s content in his life, atleast that what he keeps telling himself. He owns his own business and even though it’s not his dream job it’s his. Kira is just stuck, she’s not sure what she wants out of life anymore after a nasty divorce. She has her own house and teaches science but it’s not her dream job or where she wanted to be in life. When they meet at a ball game that Jamie is the umpire in and Kira takes a chance and asks him out it wasn’t supposed to be more than a summer fling, if it even made it that far. The characters are unique and well thought out, you can relate to their fears and feelings. I can’t wait for book two.

Ring Tru book one in the Thick As Thieves Series written by Janice M. Whiteaker. This was an interesting suspenseful second chance romance. Tru and Will are great characters and I loved this story. The push and pull from them was great and I loved the ending. Throughout the story you wonder which way the characters will go once you figure out what’s going on but you know there’s something your missing. You know the players and the outcome they want but there’s a missing player and you just keep reading because you have to know who the missing player is and their role. Wills best friend Cooper and Tru’s best friend Gretchen are the main characters in book two and I can’t wait to see how their story plays out.

Can’t Forget written by Colleen Myers is the second book in the Solum Series. Can’t Forget starts off perfectly where Must Remember ends. The two stories flowed flawlessly from on to another with the story continuing to grow. The action, the love, the lies all grow until there’s nothing left. I am looking forward to book three and can’t wait to see how the story ends. Throughout the story I feel like Elizabeth belongs to both Finn and Marin. She loves them both but in different ways there a few surprises along the way that you don’t see coming and a few make you want to cry for everything Elizabeth has gone through just to survive.

Georgia Pine is book three in the Southern Promises series written by KG Fletcher. While it is part of a series it can be read as a stand alone. This was probably my favorite of the three stories and is Tim and Jessica’s story. Both have their own set of problems and issues and this great story is how they handle each issues along with moving forward. It has it’s surprising moments and moments of “no what are you doing?!”. overall the story is great and has a little bit if everything in it. The characters had issues you can relate to and the emotions they experienced are similar to real life scenarios.

The Boss (Fire's Edge, #1)The Boss by Abigail Owen
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

The Boss written by Abigail Owen is the beginning to a great series. The characters were well written and the story was great it had push and pull to keep you guessing and wanting more. You knew something was coming but you didn’t know how bad it would be or the outcome. With Finn’s past he’s terrified to let anyone close especially women, definitely not a human woman. But then again he’s never met someone like Delany, the human who’s showing signs but doesn’t carry the mark. The dragon enforcers aren’t quite sure what to do with her but Finn knows he doesn’t want to let her go. I liked the ending it gives you closure but also the possibility of more, it could go either way. There is another story out :The Mate that I have not read yet but I want to now.

Must Remember (Solum, #1)Must Remember by Colleen S. Myers
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Must Remember: Solum Series book one written by Colleen S. Myers was a pleasantly addicting read. This isn’t my usual genre though I will read a book or two occasionally. I’m glad I picked this one and I look forward to the next book in the Solum Series: Can’t Forget. The main character is quick witted and even when she’s stressed out and freaked out she responds with sarcasm and quick humor…even if they don’t quite understand what she’s saying by using human slang and features she knows and that’s what matters. As the story progresses you watch her grow as a character and get more bold with the other characters. Beta is adapting to her surroundings and situation as much as she can with Finn and Marin there to help along with the guidance of Ute and his books what could go wrong….

Touch down written by Alexa Summers was a great read. It was full of funny moments, quick with remarks from Lexi and of course a lot of sexual tension between Lexi and Brett. You wonder which way the story will go on the beginning then you are hooked and you keep anticipating what will happen next but you aren’t prepared. Once you realize what’s finally happened you know who it is and you have to keep reading to see how it plays out. Lexi is a great female lead, she does what she has to do to advance in her career without compromising her morals like others characters in the book. By the end your left wondering if you want another story or if it should be left alone.

Michael's HeartMichael’s Heart by Lori Thomas Harrington
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Michael’s Heart by Lori Harrington. I wasn’t sure what to make of this story. I enjoyed it and it made me cry but I found it odd and unique all at once. I’m not big on “ghost stories” and Michael’s Heart is a weird yet intriguing spin not as a ghost story itself but maybe knowing someone else is there? It’s hard for me to explain without giving too much away. I did enjoy the story itself the characters were easy to relate to with their stories and experiences. Colbie is a great character and the story focuses mainly on her. Her best friend Ali is involved a lot along with people she meets along the way of her journey like Will and his daughter Sydney. This story is the perfect example of everything happens for a reason.

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Casstiel: Born of Lightning (Dragonkind~52 realms) written by Sheri-Lynn Marean. This is Casstiels story and with it comes loss, heartache, lust and forgiveness. I was surprised at the sexual scenes in this story, I didn’t see them coming but they were pretty good. Skye was an interesting character as Casstiels daughter, shes strong willed, stubborn and realized when she messed up that she needed to fix it. Casstiel is angry, lonely and lost until Ashara comes into his life and now he’s fighting so many more emotions and feelings. How do you move on when your soul mate dies, leaving you and your children behind? This story is how you move on. I couldn’t put this book down and ended up reading it in one sitting, it hooked me right away and kept me on an emotional roller coaster ride to the end.
