Don’t Worry, I Still Hate You by Marie Skye

5 Stars

Happily Ever After is a collection absolutely jam packed with some authors I know and many I didn’t. I’ve read a few from this collection and will focus on my favorite for this review.

I am a forever fan of Marie Skye, I’ll read anything she writes and know that I’ll be completely sad when it’s over and I have to wait to start another one. This one started out a little bumpy for me..Had to wrap my head around what was going on, kinda like coming into the middle of a movie. It did not take long to pick up what this author was doing though. I got all my answers as I kept reading and very quickly became completely invested in these characters. I literally laughed out loud so many times at these two. The back and forth was complete perfection and as the story progressed I realized I was experiencing every emotion possible while reading. I was sad, disappointed, SUPER angry at some truths that came out towards the end and then I found myself crying at the very end at how things played out. Hard to explain how much I loved this story, even though it’s hard to understand at the very beginning. It completely smooths out and flows seamlessly.

Reading this shorter story has made me miss this author’s writing so much that I plan to open the ones I already have and do a complete reread.

I also can not wait to read the rest of the stories I have not gotten to yet, and just know I’ll come away with some new authors to keep track of.

Loved It!!

This boxed set is made of numerous incredible reads from a variety of epic authors! These reads are sexy, steamy and have incredible characters and storyline that are captivating from the very beginning. One of these reads that I found I enjoyed the most was Marie Skye’s Don’t Worry, I Still Hate You!

While this read was quick, it didn’t lack in descriptions and had a brilliant storyline with two brilliant characters. Perrie & Ash were two brilliant characters that had amazing chemistry and bounced off each other. This read brought you romance, ups and downs humour and let’s not forget the steaminess! It was a brilliant read from start to finish.

I highly recommend this box set and I can’t wait to read more from Marie Skye.

This review is for Marie Skye’s Don’t Worry, I Still Hate You.

Perrie is looking for a roommate, she just wants someone who is clean and won’t touch her stuff. Surely that’s not too much to ask? After placing an ad she is brought face to face with someone she’s met before, the guy she met in Vegas and forgot to tell her a few pieces of crucial information….like he’s married!

Don’t Worry, I Still Hate You is a fun read with great characters. I loved the chemistry between Perrie and Ash, they definitely deserved this second chance at romance. I’d recommend this to anyone looking for a nice, quick, gobble-up-in-an-afternoon type of read.

I love boxed sets where many authors add a short story they’ve written and share their talents with us. I can always find a new author (or two or three!) to follow or check out their other books in the future based on one of their short stories.
In this box set, I am specifically reviewing “Don’t Worry, I Still Hate You” by Marie Skye. This is a wonderfully funny tale of two people who come to live together because of a advertisement for a roommate. How would either of them know that fate would bring them back into their lives. Will these one time enemies work together in the hopes of sharing rent become more to each other? You won’t be disappointed reading this short story!

Happily Ever AfterHappily Ever After by Piper Rayne
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I loved the story by Marie Skye, ‘Don’t Worry, I Still Hate You’, it was an enjoyable and engaging read. When Perrie advertises for a roommate her requirements were simple, they must be clean, not smoke and won’t touch her things. Perrie definitely did not expect her new roommate to be the man she had a one-night stand with whilst in Vegas and who she briefly dated during University. Ash is just as surprised when he find himself face to face with the women he last saw after a steamy night together in Vegas, when answering an ad for a roommate. The fact that Ash had been married at the time and did not tell Perrie just complicates the situation further. Perrie and Ash’s chemistry literally sizzled off the page and the tension between them also came across in the narrative. ‘Don’t Worry, I Still Hate You’ has a fun and lighthearted lovers to enemies and then back to lovers again storyline and characters who are likeable and relatable, which kept me happily turning the pages.

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Happily Ever After is a boxed set of romance stories that will titillate and tantalise the reader. Many authors have written beautiful, sassy, sexy, steamy and so much more stories and there is a little of everything that will appeal to one and all.

Don’t Worry, I Still Hate You by Marie Skye was a quick, engaging read. When I saw Marie Skye had a story, I couldn’t wait to get my hands on it. I could feel the chemistry and the tension is palpable. This steamy tale keeps you interested from start to finish. Marie’s writing is delightful, and you will fall in love with the characters who made me laugh and cry and everything in between as I journeyed along with the them.

Perrie is looking for a roommate, what she never expected was the one who responded to her ad. Will they remain friends or will they become so much more?

I really enjoyed meeting Perrie and Ash- and only wish their story was longer, but in a good way- as I would to have wallowed longer with them.

As you can see there is plenty to love about this collection- so grab yourself a copy and discover all the delicious details for yourself.

Happily Ever After: Don’t Worry I Still Hate You by Marie Skye is a brilliantly entertaining book. This book really highlights how good this author is and how amazing her stories always are. I loved the characters in this book. They had such a strong connection but the history between them made for a hilarious and entertaining journey. Although this is a short story I found myself fully immersed in it and it didn’t feel like anything was missing or like the story was rushed. This is such an great example of enemies to lovers and second chance romance I would highly recommend reading it!

Happily Ever After will give you a warm happy feeling no matter the genre of romance you like. I read Don’t Worry, I Still Hate You by Marie Skye, and I really enjoyed it once I got into it, at first, I did feel a little lost and almost like this was the second part of a story, and I missed the first, but then once I got into the story, I just simply fell for Perrie and Ash and their crazy journey to each other in the most backwards forwards roundabout manner. I can’t wait to sink my teeth into the other stories.

Don’t Worry, I Still Hate You by Marie Skye
Genre – Romance, Contemporary Romance, Friends to lovers
I needed a roommate, and I needed one fast. The requirements were simple: Must be clean, nonsmoker, and no touching my shit. I underestimated my own ad and got the one person I happen to have a one-night stand in Vegas for ‘old time sake’. Because what happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas right? Bull shit. Did I mention we kinda sorta dated in University? Oh, there’s also that small tidbit he left out that he may or may not have been married. He was. As it turns out I may need his help after all. But don’t worry, I still hate him.

Holy Smokes!! This is one of the crazy mixed up story! Dang just as I thought I was figuring things out? Another twist I didn’t see coming. This is awesome storytelling. To be able to Bring in the Reader then slowly reveal tidbits about the characters/situation. Amazing! At times I’m sitting here with a frown on my face…thinking why? Why would you do that??? Act like that??? But don’t worry ALL is revealed. From looking at the cover this isn’t a book Type that I typically read. But I have read all this authors books and love them so I tried to grit my teeth and bear it. I loved the story underneath besides all the extremely H-O-T sexy times. (*fans Self*). These characters are very well done! I really can’t say enough good things about this book.

I would be curious how the author wrote this book. From beginning to end? Or past then Present? She did a wonderful job not spoiling anything along the way but leaving holes that my inquiring mind wanted to know. This is quite the love triangle and I can’t wait for the second book.

Don’t Let Me (Simplicit Duet Book 1) By Marie Skye. This book was everything I was looking for and so much more. I’ve read this author before so I knew I was in for a treat but wow it was incredible. The characters are to die for and with a storyline that had my eyes glued to its pages I was gone before I knew it. The author does a wonderful job of of writing a unique story that stands out from the rest. Huge fan of the writing style and character development. I’d like to say I have a favorite but that’s impossible. I will however say I’m waiting not so patiently for book 2. I’m giving this story a five star review and highly recommend it!

This book was amazing and intriguing.
I was so torn with this book and all it made me feel. I didn’t know which way was right. I need to know more as some things just weren’t answered for me and the way this left off I was screaming at my kindle and the author in my head.
To have a writer turn me to being angry at fictional characters and actions, that’s a true talent!
When’s the next one coming out?! I need it lol

The crazy twists and turns of this book kept me interested and it also had a nice bits of romance and betrayal. Oh and you can’t forget the secrets. Sooo soo many secrets. Dude, WTF.!!!!

This will be a spoiler free review but please know that I wish I could put my phone number in this review so you could call me when you finish reading it so we could chat.

DON’T LET ME grabbed me in the beginning, the middle dragged a little as I was hoping the story would move quicker and then the end is there and I was left trying to squeeze more pages out of my Kindle.

I have questions, lots and lots of questions.

The story is very well plotted. It is told in multiple points of view and switches between past and present tense so you have a fair idea of what is actually happening.

This story packed a powerful punch for me and I’m just going to be over here in the corner rocking while waiting for book 2.

Don’t Let Me is the first novel in the Simplicit Duet by Marie Skye. This is my third novel in this author.

The history between Olivia, Jaxon and Damien is filled with passion, lies, deceit and love. Olivia has feelings for both men but when one leaves without a word the other is there to pick up the pieces but is there more going on?

The relationship between the characters was definitely keeping me on the edge of my seat. This is short novel that I went right through. After the way the novel ended, I definitely can’t wait until the next book is released. I need to know what happens next!

Anything this author writes, I know I have to read. I also know it’s going to be an emotional roller coaster filled with twist and turns and I was not disappointed.

I don’t want to spoiler anything. I just highly suggest you read it.

Don’t let me by Marie Skye is not the first book I have read by her so I am familiar with her writing but, all I can say is wow!!! I need more ASAP. This book had me a bit confused in the beginning but it all falls into place. The story of Damien, Jaxon and Olivia will suck you in from page one. Everyone’s favorite Mr Mandrake even makes an appearance.

This is a book about two best friends Jaxon and Damien who always have shared what they had. If Jaxon had something Damien wanted, he took it and vice versa. Now with Olivia, something has changed. Damien allows Jaxon to have Olivia for 2 days but that it all and it is never to be spoken about again. Is 2 days enough for Jaxon ? Is 2 days enough for Olivia ? Jaxon disappears and when he comes back into town, he finds out Olivia and Damien are married. Jaxon has his own plans for Olivia. Everything seemed to be going well until Olivia took a trip to visit someone she should’ve never went to see. If you want a taste of a M/F/M read with some great characters, a great story and a lot of heat, this one is for you.

Don’t Let Me by Marie Skye is the first book in the Simplicit Duet. This book is hot, it is steamy and it will have you wanting more well after you have read the last page.
This boom is brilliant. Each of the three characters has their own draw. All of them pull you in and all of them get you hooked. The author has done an amazing job at defining each of them and showing what they are about individually,m. And when they are together in any capacity it just works so well.
And I have to say that this cover has to be one of the beta covers I have seen for a long while. It is eye catching, tantalising and does everything it should do in terms of drawing the reader in. I would have read this book for that cover alone. I would highly recommend this book!

Don’t Let Me is book one in the Simplicit Duet written by Marie Skye. Argh I have read a few books by Ms. Skye but this book was everything I expected and more disepsion, romance, Stalking, betrayal, love, and a few twists you wouldn’t believe. The three main characters are well developed and played off each other’s quirks. All three characters Damien, Jaxson, and Olivia, are all strong willed and bring different aspects to the story.

Ms. Skye kept me engaged from the first page to the last page and I can’t wait to read the continuation of this story because I keep imagining different scenario’s on what might be coming next in book two. Just a heads up this is has a big cliffhanger….

I highly recommend this book and other books that Ms. Skye has written

This is such an intense and powerful story; Olivia is a compelling woman. The emotions running through this story between Olivia, Damien and Jaxson will swell your heart and make you smile, but its not all smiles and rainbows. I don’t want to say much more, as Marie Skye has this amazing talent of pulling the rug from under you and making you question what just happened as you definitely didn’t see it coming twists woven into the story so that they just flow smoothly.

Don’t Let Me by Marie Skyeis the first book in the Simplicit Duet. This book will have you hot and bothered one minute and the next minute you’re sitting there thinking to yourself, what did I just read.

Damien and Jaxon couldn’t be any more alpha and dominant if they tried and Olivia is powerless when it comes to these two men.

This story has several layers of interesting plot twists. The end will leave you speechless and wondering.

I have read almost everything Ms. Skye has written and even had the pleasure of meeting her once at a book signing. Her books grip you from the very beginning and refuse to let you go. Cannot recommend enough.

Oh this book…oh this author…every time Marie Skye puts words on paper my heart bursts! Every book, while each story is different, has the same underlying WOW!

This story seems to be a love triangle with the hint of a love threesome. But then there’s the danger of Olivia’s birth father and the sneakiness of Jaxon AND Damien. I really don’t know which one I am cheering for…oh wait yes, I do. It’s Olivia!

I love the title of this book because I had to say it plenty of times while reading it… “don’t let me” throw my kindle, “don’t let me” wake my sleeping family from my yelling, “don’t let me” message this author what I am feeling right now!

And I love reading books. I love reading series. I even like reading books with cliff hangers but when I don’t even see the cliff coming!! O.M.G. way to go Marie Skye! Way. To. Go. Definitely looking forward to book 2.

I loved her writing style and her frequent use of my favorite word the F word lol. The storyline flowed smoothly, and I found myself torn for each of the three main characters at one point or another. Damien, Jaxson, and Olivia, each have something that draws you in and makes you not only root for them but be conflicted. There was suspense, surprises, mouth dropping moments, and some dang hot steamy scenes. This author’s work kept me engaged from the first page to the last page and I can’t wait to read other books by her, but most of all I can not wait for the continuation of this story because I have so many thoughts on what might be coming next. Don’t Let Me is the first book in the Simplicit Duet by Marie Skye. I fell in love with Ms. Skye’s work while reading the Incapable Series, where her books branded themselves on my soul, and have read every new release since then. I had been anticipating this book for a while now, so I was really excited to finally have it in my hands. I had no doubt that this book would be every bit as good as Ms. Skye’s previous ones, if not better- so I couldn’t wait to dive in. I am happy to report that this story is all that I could have hoped for, and more…… it’s delicious- completely addictive and different from her other books. It’s quite intense and emotive, as we have come to expect from Ms. Skye- but is one of those books you come across from time to time where you get so caught up in the story that when the end comes you flick over the page hoping to keep reading, wanting desperately for the story to continue, all the while thinking “what, wait- what the hell did I just read?” Well, this is one of ‘those’ books! I need that second book Stat! That ending- OMG!!!
Do yourself a favour and grab a copy, you won’t regret it! Highly recommended reading! Bring on Book #2!!!!!
Brilliant!

Thank-you Ms. Skye!

Don’t Let Me by Marie Skye is book one of the Simplicit Duet. I was pulled in from the beginning of this story because the storyline was so intriguing I needed to know what was going to happen.

Damien, Olivia and Jaxon are drawn together and Olivia finds herself between a rock and a hard place. She has feelings for both men but when one leaves her, she says yes to the other. She had no idea the twists and turns that would play out down the road.

This book was so emotional I didn’t know what to feel from one moment to the next. I was absolutely immersed in this book.

Its the story of Olivia who makes the mistake of falling in love with two men, Damien & Jaxon. One is a player and the other is not playing games. Olivia seems to be the only one holding everything together. The steamy scenes will take your breath away and make you turn pages so fast your head is spinning. I really enjoy this author’s no fluff writing. She only writes what is important so you don’t have to read a bunch of useless stuff. There are secrets and twists and turns you never expect. UGH!! This author!! When I finished this book and proceeded to pick my kindle up from where I threw it I could only imagine her sitting there when she finished this book with one of the most evil laughs thinking “Yes..this will do nicely” LOL Marie Skye always has a way of making every book I read by her a favorite. I love her no nonsense approach to writing and the way she never adds in any unneeded fluff, you know every word you read is important to the storyline in one way or the other.

For the record this author is among my favorites of all time and I will always read whatever she comes up with…Im just kind of hoping she comes up with the next book in this duet like maybe Today? OMG!!

I loved this story, I loved the writing and the uniqueness of the storyline and the time hops were done in a way that allowed me to never get confused, they actually always came right when I needed them. I read this in one sitting and since it has been awhile since I’ve read one of this authors books it made me want to jump back in to all of them and reread.

It goes without saying I can not wait for the next in this series and will be the first in line the second it is released.

LOVED IT!!

Don’t Let Me (Simplicit Duet Book 1) by Marie Skye – Review by Katie Matthews

Don't Let Me (The Simplicit Duet #1)Don’t Let Me by Marie Skye
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I have been waiting a long time for a new release from one of my favourite authors, Marie Skye, so I was extremely eager to get my hands on Don’t Let Me, the first book in the Simplicit Duet and as expected it didn’t disappoint at all! It was everything that I have come to love from this author, it had the heat she writes so well, the passion that she gets across to the reader and it had the characters that she makes me fall in love with as soon as I start reading about them. The secrets, the twists and the turns make for one captivating read. I always find it hard to write reviews of Ms Skye’s books not because they are bad, far, far from it but because it’s so easy to give away spoilers and I do not want to do that – so – what I will say is whether you are new to this author or not you absolutely should one click this book today! It is an amazing read and I cannot wait for the next part to see what happens!!
