The Sweetest Day – by Debra Parley
Every Story has a beginning, but the gingerbread and candy house were missing. That is what makes this story fun to read. Welcome to the pretty princess pink house. I love this version and that is what made Debra Parley a fun author. Her story is complete in its few pages. The characters are clever and perfect for this story. Job Well Done Debra Parley!

The Shadows That Move – Lorah Jaiyn
Okay! This story also took you on a different rollercoaster ride. The house involved is bound by tall trees and the shadows within. Missing children, strong women and Witches oh my. Lorah Jan wrote this suspense building story. She also left you wanting more, so much more that I will be stalking this author for more stories.
The best part about reading Anthologies is the fact it guides you to look up and read other authors.

I can easily say this one is my FAVORITE of the series! The author nailed it! Strong female and a Silent male. Haha. Just kidding. (Silent male..) Libby is the FBI agent of this group of girls. She is a no nonsense woman who has had to make her way in a male dominated job. She pushes harder and works faster which make her a strong female lead. We have heard about her sexy neighbor whom she won’t make contact with in past books. Well she finally gets her chance! But he doesn’t talk…oh he speaks well enough…with his silence and stares. As more encounters happen I find I really REALLY like him. He has secrets he isn’t ready to share, he is super duper sexy and he loves animals. Need I say more? He is a great book boyfriend.

I love getting to see all the girls from the previous stories as well as their menfolk. Seeing them all hanging out is a treat.

Overall I LOVED this story! It’s fast paced and I could hardly put it down because I couldn’t wait to see what would happen next. Would she survive her stalker, would her neighbor finally talk to her or would her cat ever like her? The suspense killed me!

I highly recommend this as it’s going on my favorites list!

Practically-minded, brutally honest, Carol Winters is at the peak of her career and for the most part has avoided relationships by her own default. Her boundaries are tested when she’s chosen as lead designer for Calderone Industries and must work with the bosses’ son. He’s creative and handsome but he’s intervening with her work.
Charles Calderone is an expert at the finer things in life but doesn’t want to settle for just a job when his knowledge expands further than just that. Being VP at the family’s firm is challenging (to say the least) but he’s got his sights on an architect. As she is gorgeous and gifted, but she annoys the hell out of him by bugging him to consult on every design decision!
The more heated their arguments get, the more they learn to like one another but their worlds entwine sooner than later. They have to wiggle through their madness to find common ground but will they? Or will both their careers be lost because of this?
I found that this book was sweet, romantic and unpredictable. The tit for tat battle these two create for themselves make the book playful. Their work relations make it more adult and I found it very intriguing to read. I loved this pleasant read!

The Lost is the first book in the Saint Code series. Even though this is listed as the first book in a series, I highly recommend reading The Finder of the Lucky Devil (Lucky Devil series) before you read this book. You will have a better grasp of certain events mentioned in The Lost if you read that book first.

I loved this book! The world building is superb and I love the unique characters. The Lost is a twisty adventure that keeps you guessing. I’d love to say more about specific details, but I don’t want to spoil the intrigue.

A definite must read!!!! Seriously, read it!!!

Hero High: Figure In The Flames collects the first three parts of Friday Fitzsimmons’ story, written by Mina Chara. Friday, or “Fitz” as she is sometimes known, is a trainee superhero in a world where superheroes are celebrities, surrounded by cameras at all times. Friday doesn’t particularly want to be famous, and certainly doesn’t want to wear revealing clothes and smile for the camera, but she does want to make a difference and support her family.
The story is told within a framing narrative of an interview where an older Fitz is asked to discuss her origins. This works well, both reassuring the reader that Fitz will be alright in the end and allowing the older Fitz to break up the flow of the story every now and then to provide useful information or interesting commentary.
I particularly like Chara’s vivid descriptions of things. Everything from settings to clothes and food (food!). Chara gives the reader plenty of detail that really allows you to feel like you’re seeing and tasting everything.
For me, this is a five-star book. I would recommend it to fans of teen and YA superhero stories (it has a particularly X-Men feel to it with the special school for superheroes). There’s a good balance of character drama and action, and there are familiar tropes without it being boring or too predictable.

This is the second book in the Madeline Dawkins series and and its a great book.

After all the trauma cause to Madeline in the first book by her ex husband, she is back as a trained P.I with her close friend Mike.

She also still runs her event co-ordinator job as well. Her next job sees her planning a 3 day party for a famous client. However, things arent as rosy as they seem when the clients mother-in-law seeks Madelines help to find the person responsible for stealing her precious jewellery.
With both businesses taking off Madeline certainly has her hands full.

An added complication occurs when one of the men who was part of the plan that kidnapped her is released only to be found dead days later. Is the man that escaped justice Usherwood back getting his revenge on the people who turned him in and will Madeline be next on his hit list.

Its a great story that keeps you hooked and guessing. It has a strong and independent female main character which is nice.

As a fan of the first book, I love the way Nathan and Bryer love each other. I think they’re together for a greater reason than even they can even know about. They’ve taken the time to establish their foundation and cement their love. I hated Cash for trying to come through and break them up.
This book will have you praying Bryer sees through just how arrogant and pompous Cash is and lives happily ever after with Nathan. Great read — wonderful characters, romantic and entertaining.

What a brilliant quick sexy read! This book was hot, sexy & steamy from the moment it starts, right until the very end! I loved the front cover of this read, it drew me in instantly. Now Mayim was a another story completely he is the epitome of sexy, from the way he is, the way he talks, the way he handles himself and the way he gives it to women. He knows their desires and is more than ready and willing to give them it, all while helping them have their secret desire to play out for them. I loved Summer and seeing the growth she makes from the start and seeing her fulfil her real desires, and finding out the rest of her journey after Mayim. I can’t wait to read more from this series! I highly recommend this book!

Love the Way You Dance by Allison M. Boot is a sweet young adult fantasy that has a fairy tale feel to it. It is a story of self- acceptance, with magic, some drama, believing in yourself, learning to love yourself, evil trolls, and a little bit of adventure. I enjoyed this super sweet read.
Ever since Kara was adopted by the king and queen of Starrycrest, she has lived a lovely life, with everything she could ever want- loving parents, a lovely home- including the starring role in the kingdom’s production of “The Nutcracker.” But things begin to fall apart, and Kara begins to doubt everything. She is put to the test and will have to draw on all her strength, and truly accept herself, if she is to overcome it all in the end.
Another lovely story by Allison M. Boot!

Denial (Hero High book 1) by Mina Chara is a 3.5 star read.
This is the story of Friday Fitzsimmons who went off to hero high when she was 17, she met and spent some time with her hero Captain Fantastic, she doesn’t really have an active power so is trying to figure out how she can become a superhero.
This is my first book by this author and while it wasn’t one of my favourite books I couldn’t put the book down and read it all in one sitting.

Anger (Hero High book 2) by Mina Chara is a 3.5 star read.
Friday Fitzsimmons is still trying to figure her way around Hero High and the camera’s, the new Dr Dangerous is hell bent on finding his place as a villain and making sure Friday is in the middle of his plans. Making new friends along the way Friday is trying to stop her anxiety worries getting in the way of her time at hero high.
There was a little more excitement in this book but it still fell a little flat for me, but when I picked up the book I didn’t put it down until I was finished.

Bargaining by Mina Chara is book 3 in the series and is a 4 star read.
This book finds Friday fighting against everyone, not sure who is on the side of good or bad, her friendship with Jake is suffering and she’s getting closer to Ashley, but everyone has secrets, can Friday save the day without getting hurt?
This was a quick read and I enjoyed catching up with Friday and seeing how her superhero power would stand up against everyone else’s. The ending fell a little flat for me and I’m hoping there’s more to come.

This was a wonderful collection of Hansel & Gretel stories. Some of these were what I expected and others were so different I almost had to reread some of them. I enjoyed each one of these and now I’ve found a few more authors I hadn’t heard of before. The authors have done an amazing job of writing their version of Hansel and Gretel. I would highly recommend reading these stories. The anthology sticks to the conventions of the fairy tale including gingerbread houses, witches, being lost in the woods and trying to find your way back home with breadcrumbs. Some of the stories are truly frightening, but in a good way. There is romance sprinkled in too, sweetening the pot.

I absolutely loved this book! This is the second book in this series and it was just as good if not better than the first. This author seems to know everything that a good book needs and has nailed it on every single book that I have read by her. I feel like I am living the story with the characters and I get to experience it right along with them. I enjoyed the characters and the love and major chemistry they had between them. There was struggle and heartache and I enjoyed every minute of it. I am looking forward to reading more of this series and more by this author in the future!

Deleted by Ruth Mitchell is a suspenseful and original story that had me hooked right from page 1. The author has created such an intriguing concept.
I found the whole book to be well thought out exciting to read. It felt like I never quite knew what might happen to Lucy which meant that I was on the edge of my seat for a lot of it.
This is one of the mouse interesting, cat and mouse type stories that I have read, the whole book was just amazing. It is the first book that I have read by this author but it certainly will not be the last. I would highly recommend this book!

Friday Fitzsimmons is a 17 year old girl going to a new school, but she is no ordinary girl, she has superpowers and she is about to start Hero High in Icon City.

We meet Friday as she is flying to Icon City, so that she can support her family back home. Friday is anxious and shy, but is determined not to let them down. She arrives and is thrown straight into the glamour and all encompassing life that being a student at Hero High entails. There are reporters, photographers and video cameras ready to beam her student life to the world through their own reality TV show.
She and the other students are tested, grouped and placed with a mentor, before finally getting to meet the head teacher and see where they are going to live for the foreseeable future.
As Friday and the other students get used to their new life, as well as the rules, disappointments, advantages and disadvantages that come with it, they develop as people and have experiences they could never have dreamed of before this all started.
We follow Fridays adventures in this trilogy as she gets to grips with her new life, friends, classes and powers, as well as the life that comes with them.

The book starts as an interview with Friday and this style is intermittently dispersed throughout the book, where we learn tidbits that cannot be explained within the storyline. We meet and learn about the characters she comes into contact with and how all these relationships develop. This is done extremely well and keeps you guessing right up until the end.
It is an easy to follow story and flows very well, the “interview” sections do not disrupt this too much and do add to the story.
Various themes are explored throughout the story and deal with the emotional conflicts and turmoil that come along with these themes.It is a complex and engaging story that leaves you wanting more at the end and is a series that I want to finish.

And The River Runs Deep: The Cold Case Murder Mystery of Leah Marcus by A.J. Ullman. I LOVED this book. Its a crime mystery based on a true story. Its the story of the murder of Leah Marcus and how her boyfriend at the time Damon Allbright was tried for the offense. 10 years after the crime, the crime reporter of the Cincinnati Tribune who covered the case wants to reopen the case. He’s determined to find out what really happened. Leah was a 17 year old wealthy white girl who wanted to be a pediatric neurosurgeon and was amazing on the piano. Damon was the all star point guard at their high school, had an amazing singing voice and was African American. His father was the Pastor at one of the major Baptist Churches in town. Leah was murdered and raped, beat up and strangled and when Damon was taken in for questioning the whole town went nuts. There were race riots and when Damon’s DNA was found in Leah’s body they charged him with the crime. Will the reporter find out what really happened to Leah and will Damon be freed? Will this crime tear up this city? This book is amazing and warning it will keep you reading until you are finished!

How is the 3rd book in the Stalker Series by Megan Mitcham. I have to say that this is my favourite book in the series and that’s high praise indeed as I adored the first two books in the series. Before reading this series I had never read any of Megan Mitcham’s work but this series has definitely gained her a new fan.
This book had me hooked from the very beginning and it kept a very tight grip of me throughout. I was totally engrossed in this story. It was so well written and the story flowed very well, with twists and turns that keep the reader totally gripped.
I have absolutely loved the group of 4 women that this series revolves around and it was great to see what the others are up to and how all their lives intertwine.
This particular book centres around FBI agent Libby Irish and her elusive, very attractive, neighbour who has never uttered a single word to her. As the story progresses we start to see a very different side to the neighbour as Libby’s life becomes more in danger from her stalker.
The author throws a few curveballs at you and really takes you on an amazing journey filled with mystery, danger and intrigue.
I would give this book more than 5 stars if I could. I definitely recommend this book. Infact, I recommend the whole series. It’s one I will read again.

Not So Far (Love Grows Series Book 3) by Renee Regent. This is a great love story. Its the 3 book in the series and the story of Silas and Audrey. Silas feels like he’s made the worst mistake of his life by leaving Audrey and not telling her why all those years ago but when he sees her again all those feelings come crashing back and he’s determined to have her again. Audrey was so hurt by Silas when he left to the point that she thought she would never love again much less forgive him but when she sees him sparks fly. There has always been a unspoken chemistry between them and its harder to resist each time. Silas can’t explain to Audrey why he left the first time without crushing her and Audrey has her own secrets that she thinks will destroy things. Does she have the strength to resist him and will Silas win her back? Read Not so Far to find out!

Hit and Run by Diane Hester was a great 5 star read.
Once I started I was pulled right in.

Raina had a creepy experience while driving home from the movies, she had been thinking about how her life has been the past 10 years when she accidentally hit a man with her car.
The man pulled a gun on her and had her drive him away from the scene. When the man passes out she ends up abandoning her car with him in it. When she finds out the next day the man is dead her life starts to spiral out of control.

We meet a couple of other characters Alec and Erin who added so much more to this story. These three find out they are intertwined in the same scary situation. There is so much more to this read but I don’t want to give anything away. I was on the edge of my seat waiting to see what was going to happen next. We get murder, abduction, twits and turns and so much more. All of the characters were great. This is my first read from this Author and I loved it. If you like a suspenseful book that pulls you right in then this is the book for you. 1-click and get started today.

Forgotten Promise Book two: The Forgotten Trilogy by Virginia Wine . This is the 2nd book in the Forgotten Trilogy. Its the conclusion of Bryer & Nathan’s story. Bryer and Nathan have been thru many setbacks and Bryer’s ex Cash has in no way helped them. He is an smooth talking lawyer from Austin who has made the decision to get Bryer back no matter what. Nathan has also made the promise to keep Bryer no matter the cost and at what lengths he has to go to keep her. Bryer is dealing with the loss of her mother along with these two guys that she has feelings for. Cash uses the loss of her mom to lure her back to him but is she strong enough to say no. Will Bryer’s love for Nathan outweigh the feelings she has for Cash? Cash is a dirty low down piece of work and I rooted for Nathan thru the book. When Bryer is forced to choose between Cash and Nathan will she make the right choice? Read Forgotten Promise to find out!

Just the Way You Are by Allison M. Boot was great book to read that is a modern-day fairytale. When I read the synopsis for this story I fell in love and could not read it fast enough. This was my first story by Allison Boot, and it will not be my last that is for sure. Misty is such an amazing character that I came to love. The journey she is on shows how she is such a strong, courageous person and with everything that she deals with being in a wheelchair that even she could become her true self. It’s really an amazing story.

I loved reading the book Love the Way You Dance by Allison M. Boot. It is a story that pulled me in from the beginning and didn’t let me go until the final page. I loved reading about the character of Kara. She has been adopted by the King and Queen of Starrycrest. Her life has been wonderful until changes threaten her place in the family as well as the kingdom. Kara is a young girl who has deep insecurities. She also has a fierce determination when she puts together plans. Kara has to face a dance partner she doesn’t like, a new dance instructor, and her family’s disinterest in starting a program that will help orphans find their forever families. What does the future hold for Kara? Read this book to find out This story will have you falling in love with the character of Kara as well as many of the other additional ones. Some of them have been brought forward from another story and I loved reading about how their lives have changed. It is like keeping in touch with friends. The book did have my emotions going up and down. I was empathetic towards how Kara was feeling about the changes that were happening in her life. The story is heartwarming and a joy to read. I highly recommend reading it.

What happens when someone from your past threatens your future, that’s the dilemma in story for Bryer when a lover comes back looking for one more chance.

Bryer and Nathan are happy, they have declared their love for each other but will there world be rocked when a blast from Bryer past comes looking for her love again. Cash is a no hold barred lawyer who is determining to win back Bryer, he has the reputation that he wins everything in the courtroom so he is betting on winning this battle.

Nathan is positive that Bryer will choose him but if Cash wants a battle for the love of his life then he is determined to put up one hell of a fight, but its all up to Bryer.

This is the second book in this trilogy and did not disappoint, I would recommend reading the first book before this one as it set up the characters within the story and you may have more of an investment in the story. Cash to me although coming across as a manipulative character was a great counter player to Nathan, the interactions between these two were brilliant and you felt like you were always routing for someone. Bryer is great strong female character and is well written, with you really putting yourself into her shoes all the way through the story.

I would recommend this series with the well written story and developed characters I can’t wait to read the next book in this series.

I loved reading the book Spring’s Calling: A Seasons of Magic Urban Fantasy Novel by Sarah Biglow. It is a story that pulled me in from the beginning and didn’t let me go until the final page. It includes magic, mystery, action, and danger. I loved reading about the character of Ezri Trenton. She is a Boston Police Detective who loves her job and wants to solve the murder of her mother. She is also the prophetic Savior. Life gets interesting when Ezri has to chase down a phantom serial killer while having to make sure not to reveal her magical secret. What does the future hold for Ezri? Will she be the Savior that everyone believes she is? Will she catch the serial killer? Will she solve her mother’s murder? Read this book to find out. This is an exciting and entertaining story that had me on the edge of my seat wondering what was going to happen next. I love that Ezri pushes forward with her investigation even when she could be in harm’s way. She is learning that she may need to stop isolating herself and accept help. I enjoyed reading about the prophecy that has Ezri is the main player in. I also enjoyed reading about those who interact and help Ezri. Sunshine Kisses by Elaine Marie is A Kisses Novella Book Two. This book is the first book I’ve read by this author but now I need to go back and read book one since this was such a good book!

Crystal has decided it is time to live her life to the fullest after some bad news she received from her doctor. She is going to enjoy her best friends wedding. Not only is she going to have fun, she wants to enjoy a fling as well. However, she never expected who it would be. Spencer has always had a thing for Crystal and there’s no time like the present to tell her that. Will Spencer be able to make her see the light or will Crystal push him away because of her condition?

This book definitely takes your emotions for a ride but you can’t help but need to know what happens! I definitely recommend this book!

Sunshine Kisses (A Kisses Novella) by Elaine Marie

Wow I kinda knew going in that this story would probably have my emotions going all over the place, but I had no idea I’d be such a wreck while reading. This is a friends to lovers / vacation fling. Crystal’s best friend is getting married and she’s going to enjoy her time because when she gets home she will have a very difficult decision to make. Crystal has a medical condition and is keeping it a secret only because she doesn’t want to ruin the wedding. Spencer on the hot guy who is also her friend. He kinda has a secret as well,these two are hot together and the chemistry is off the charts. She lays out the rules of this vacation fling but will he follow them? What will happen when the vacation is over? What will happen once they get home? I really loved this story and can’t recommend it enough. Find out what happens next in this absolute must read. I can’t wait to read more from this Author.

I enjoyed this young adult fantasy story. This is not my first book by this author but it is my favorite yet so far. This is a well written story with characters that bring the story to life. They bring a story of a fairytale about a princess who thinks she has everything until one day she realizes her life is about to become a nightmare. There is alot going on in this story but it is fast paced and engaging. I had no problems connecting to the magical characters. They are strong and supportive of each other which made the story easy to read. I highly recommend reading this book to find out what happens to Kara as she learns to love

New Jerk in Town: An Enemies-to-Lovers Romantic Comedy (Carolina Kisses Book 2) by Sylvie Stewart is a delight that hits just the right spot. I love Sylvie’s stories; they are easy to get lost in and before you know it the book has ended. I loved their quick and witty banter and it made me laugh. If you love easy to read comedy romance then this is a must. Love to hate and hate to love.

Life has not been great for Milo, after the accident he has been drifting trying to truly live his life. When that sends him back to his childhood home when his father passes away with his niece in toe will a blast from his past offer a future.

Jill has returned to that happy place where she holiday as a child but when a encounter with the last person she wanted to see happens it stirs up emotions which she does not want to understand. As the story develops will Jill and Milo address the feelings they have had all these years but are they willing to give it a go, you will have to read to find out.

Oh my I love this author so much, her characters are always a little be flawed which makes them so relatable and you really want to invest in the relationship you develop while reading the story. I loved the character of Jill a dreamer who just wants to get away and live her life in peace but just when she thinks she has cracked it in walks the sullen grumpy character of Milo. Milo has hidden depths with his different relationship with his niece and friends who have stuck with him.

I loved the story and always love the superb writing of Sylvie as she is truly a great storyteller, the stories make you want to be friends with these wonderful characters and as always can’t wait to read more from this wonderful author. This is not my first book by this author but it is my favorite. This is a fantasy book that has action as well as magic throughout the story. This is a well written story that pulled me in right from the beginning. I had no problems connecting with the characters as they brought the story to life. This is a story that has a lot going on for the main character, Ezri. She is a Boston Detective that is determined to do her job and solve her mother’s murder. From early on in her life she has been told she is the prophetic Savior and now is the time she is being called on. She also has taken on searching for the phantom serial killer. She has a lot going on but she is a strong character that seems to deal. Will her magic power be revealed? Will she find out more about her mother’s murderer as she finds her serial killer? This is a great story that kept me turning pages to the end. I highly recommend this book and this author.
