Tangles by Sharleen Scott – Review by Michelle Austin

TanglesTangles by Sharleen Scott
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Tangles was a great 5 star read. Once I started I didn’t want to put it down.

We meet Logan and his family in the beginning, he is a great father that loves his children. He is also someone that when he sets his mind to it he is determined to accomplish his goals.
Logan started to wonder what was going on with his mom when he was on the phone with his dad, she was asking strange questions but his dad assured him she was fine. During a visit he knew his mom behavior was odd and she injured his son. Logan finally gets his father to share what is wrong with his mother, Alzheimers.

When Logan’s father passes he ends up caring for his mother. This is definitely not an easy task and he ends up hiring a nursing service to help him. When he discovers some journals that his mother wrote he ends up with lots of questions and discovers secrets that his mother had, secrets that make him angry and confused.

Will he be able to find someone that can help put the pieces together and give him the answers he’s looking for?

Be prepared for an emotional rollercoaster. My heart went out to Logan, having a friend who’s family went through Alzeimers with her mother this felt like it hit home. Sharleen Scott has done a great job with her writing and you feel like your right there with Logan. If you’re looking for a great read, I highly suggest this one. I look forward to reading more from this author.

All I can say is Wow, what a heck of a read. I was on the edge of my seat waiting to see what was coming next.

I was excited to get Cutter’s story. We got to meet him in the first book. In this book we get Cutter’s history which drew me right in and intrigued me.

Cutter is very edgy and not your typical man and I loved him. Valentina was a strong woman who was looking for her equal, and Cutter fit that mold. These two were so hot together you could feel the chemistry coming off the pages. We get some very steamy scenes from them.

Can these two get a HEA?

Truck StoppedTruck Stopped by Manda Mellett
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Truck Stopped was a great 5 star read and book 11 in the Satan’s Devils MC series.

We jump from past to present and learn some back history on Allie and Truck. Allie was kicked out of her home at a very young age and had to fend for herself on the streets. She made money the only way she knew how until she met a woman who brought her to the MC to work as a sweet butt.

Truck is a firefighter and MC member who was severely injured while fighting some fires in California. Since he’s been back he has avoided coming to the MC. The Pres decides to send Allie to Trucks to see if she can get him to let her in. Allie had made a connection with Truck before he left to fight fires, she hasn’t been the same since. She doesn’t want to be a sweet butt anymore, she wants to have something with Truck. Only problem is, Sweet butts don’t become old ladies.

Overall I loved this story. There are some unexpected twists to the story that had my emotions all over the place. These two definitely don’t have an easy story and at times I was thinking what else can happen to this poor couple. These two were perfect for each other, Allie didn’t see the scars on Truck only the genuine person he was inside and she had some of her own scars as well. They are a very strong couple. All of the secondary characters added a great element to the story. This is a great series that I highly suggest. I look forward to reading more from this author.

He continues to call her just to let her know he hasn’t forgotten about her. When she gets a call from home she rushes back, will she return to Brian and the girls or will she move on once again?

My emotions were all over the place with this read.

Brian’s love for Jenny was great, he would do anything to keep her safe and the last book in the trilogy didn’t disappoint. We get danger, action, suspense, steamy scenes, and so much more.

17 Marigold Lane was a great 5 star read and book one in the Prudence Penderhaus series.

My heart was squeezed and I got teary eyed fairly quickly after I started this book. My heart went out to Prudence. Not only has she received some very heartbreaking news, but she endures bullying while on her way to school. This is something that has been an everyday thing for her.

She decides she has nothing to lose and goes up to the supposed haunted house that everyone is afraid to go to. There are rumors of a coffin in the living room along with other spooky things. When she knocks on the door an unexpected person comes to the door, someone she never expected to meet, a boy her age.

Cassius has never been out in the world. As he gets to know Prudence she convinces him to go outside with her. When Cassius starts to do inappropriate things Prudence feels responsible for him. When Juniper and Milo first meet it was priceless. He end’s up arresting her and having her taken to the station. There was something about her that got under Milo’s skin, especially when she tells him that some rules are made to be broken.

I have a feeling it won’t be the last time I’ll see her in cuffs.

This is a great opposites attract read. They definitely didn’t start off on the right foot that’s for sure. I really enjoyed these two together, I had some LOL moments. This is a quick read so I don’t want to give too much away. Zeia Jameson does a great job of pulling you in and you are done before you know it. Each book in the series can be read as a stand alone but I suggest reading all of them. 1-click and get started today.

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Joined was a great 4 star read and book one in the Joined series.

You get all sorts of great things in this sci-fi book, humor, action, romance and so much more. I like being taken to another world and I really enjoyed this one.

Princess Meda was great, she has feistiness to her. She also has a love for reading. She has people out to get her, trying to prevent her from taking her rightful place as the next ruler. When things take a scary twist and she is forced to flee, she has Perseus assigned to protect her. Perseus was a little bit of a jerk in the beginning but he eventually grew on me. As these two spend more time together things start to grow between them.

Can they have something together? Will Perseus be able to keep her safe?

Overall I really enjoyed this book, I had several LOL moments. Mara pulls you right in with her writing, the world she created was amazing. All of the characters were great. I will warn that there is a slight cliffhanger. If your looking for a great Sci-fi read this is the series for you. 1-click and get started today.

Ruin: The El Diablo Chronicles by Autumn Sand – Review by Michelle Austin

Ruin (The El Diablo Chronicles)Ruin by Autumn Sand
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Ruin was a great 5 star read and book one in the El Diablo Chronicles.
All I can say is wow, once I started I couldn’t stop.

Raymond is very dark and dangerous. He is someone you don’t cross ever and he holds nothing back when he wants something.
Tallie has a past that has traumatized her. She tries to stay strong and uses her sexuality to fulfill her needs. She is also trying to get past a broken heart and seeing him every day doesn’t help.

Raymond and Tallie meet when he comes into Pulse, the club that Tallie works for. There is something about him that gives her chills and turns her on at the same time. And my gosh, the things he said to her were insanely hot and rude and she held her own quite well.

I thought I could match wits with him, but I know I can’t.

Raymond and Tallie both are not looking for anything serious. They both have some pretty big walls to break through, can they help each other? We get some pretty hot and steamy scenes from them. I will warn that there are some scenes that may be triggers for some. I was once again pulled right in by Autumn Sand’s writing, I can’t wait to read more from this series. 1-click and get started today.

Undercover (Billionaire Bodyguards Book 2)Undercover by Via Mari
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Undercover was a great 5 star read and book two in the Billionaire Bodyguards.

You get pulled in right from the beginning. Marenah find’s herself in quite the predicament, this is also where she meets Prez (Matt) in the basement of a Mafia club. When his team gets them out things get even more interesting moving forward. They reconnect in Russia, where they end up on the run from both the Chicago and Russian mafia. The more time they are together the closer they become.

What will happen if Marenah’s secret comes out? Can she have a future with Matt?

I really liked Marenah, she was such a strong character and I loved her independence. Matt is a hot alpha who protects people. You could feel the attraction between these two coming off of the pages. We get some steamy moments from them along with some edge of your seat moments. Via does a great job of pulling you in with her writing, I can’t wait to read more from this series. You can read as a stand alone but I suggest reading book one as well, it will help you connect better with the characters. 1-click and get started today.

TWO HEARTS UNDER FIRE (Two Hearts Wounded Warrior Romance Book 8)
by Tamara Ferguson

Two Hearts Under Fire was a good 5 star read and book eight in the Two Hearts Wounded Warrior series.

I was pulled in right from the beginning, Russ and his team are attacked during a transport in Iraq. We jump ahead and Russ feels like he has been set up and is now facing charges. When he goes to his friends house to ask for his help, he ends up getting more than he expected.

Claire is hiding from her abusive ex and is staying with her best friend Sarah and her fiance, Brand. This is where Russ ends up meeting Claire. They end up getting attacked by a gunman at Brand’s apartment. They are able to get away and flee out of state headed for Wisconsin where their friends are. Who is the gunman after, Claire or Brand? Can they survive?

As these two spend more time together sparks start to fly. You can feel the connection between them coming off the pages. Tamara does a great job of pulling you right in with her writing. I was on the edge of my seat at every turn waiting to see what was coming next. This is an action packed with great characters. If you’re looking for a great series that can be read as a stand alone than 1-click and get started today. I can’t wait to read more from Tamara and this series.
