What an adorable cozy mystery. I loved Delilah. The story is entertaining. Even with being a mystery, you have your little chuckle moments. My favorite parts of cozies are all the characters. There always your quirky ones that just make the story. I found the plot quite cute. I enjoyed trying to figure out who did it. I look forward to reading more from this author. A quick and fun read.
The Muffin Shop Murder is the first book in the new “Delilah Crumbworthy Mystery” series by Holly Tierney. It is an intriguing, well-woven cozy mystery, with drama, suspense, quirky characters, and more. I have read most of Ms. Tierney’s books now, and she never disappoints. This mystery proved to be a well thought out and intriguing read. The author wove her plot really well, her attention to detail making this story quite engrossing. If you love a great cozy mystery then you won’t want to miss this- especially if you are looking for an interesting, fun, charming, fairly light-hearted, and entertaining story that will keep you engaged right through to the end. And Then She Fell by Dreena Collins. This book was amazing and I didn’t put it down until I finished. Its the story of Catherine Keely whose daughter Susie had died a year ago. Susie had gone on vacation with her boyfriend to Crete. Susie supposedly fell from a balcony during a party. Catherine can’t get past the fact that she’s not sure if she really fell or was she pushed? She decides to travel to Crete to talk to the people that were there. Once there she talks to everyone she can that was at the party and they all give her 10 different stories. All 10 stories are filled with some truths but not all. Will she ever find out what happened to her precious Susie? Read this very good, thrilling story about a mother’s worst nightmare!

I don’t usually enjoy crime mystery, but this book was excellent. Angie escapes but her friends aren’t so lucky. Everyone thinks she snapped and killed her friends, so she gets locked away in a nuthouse. Very suspenseful.

I could see this book as a movie. It was so good that I honestly could not put it down and read it in a day! I just had to know what happened next!
Angie and 3 of her friends are celebrating spring break when it turns deadly. Angie is the only survivor and is running for her life! With the help of the FBI and a therapy dog she finds her voice again and they are able to find the kidnapper/killer and discover so much more.
With the help of the therapy dog and of course Angie’s determination to survive they uncover dozens of girls who have been taken.
This book reminds you to teach your loved ones some safety techniques and not just women. Angie’s father was smart in giving her some actual tools to keep handy if she needed them for her car but to also remind her that they could be used for other things as well. This very well saved her life!
Grab this book and read it for the rest of the story and be prepared to stay on your toes while reading it!

This is book one in the historical gas lamp fantasy series. This is my first time reading this genre. I’m enjoying this novel! It’s set in my favorite time period historically. There’s judacious use of metaphors and impressive world building. I laughed at the use of a woman’s weapon described as man-stopper! Mediums are ghost talkers in the wonderful mystery with a little bit of romance.

And I would seek it even if it ripped my heart to shreds.

I was pulled into this book right from the start. The narrator, Catherine, is English and talking to her dead daughter as though she can hear her mother. Catherine searches for the truth about her daughter Susie’s death a year prior. This book has a unique structure to let the reader view different scenarios to explain Susie’s tragic death. The reader needs to ask whether each scenario likely would have happened and question what really is the truth about that night. Collins skillfully written prose, will have you on the edge of your seat asking the same questions Catherine does and the ending takes you by surprise!

This was a great book. Normally court related books sort of bore me. This one kept my attention and coming back to it. The plot and characters were great. I had a great time reading this book. I think this book displays people in same sex relationships and corrupted people in charge really well.

I believe that this books’ storyline of having her getting ready for the holiday and having crime happen, that she did not plan for, made this story that much more fun! Crime waits for no one and while this one was still a great mystery to read, having it be a Christmas theme made it all the more enjoyable to read! I loved reading these stories and I cannot wait to read more by this wonderful author as the writing style was superb!

Gripping thriller….the perfect whodunnit mystery! Wish I could rate greater than 5 stars!!! RUN to get this book!! What a trip! This is my first read by this author and it was fantastic.
I have been going on and on about this book for the last couple days while reading it. This action-packed thriller sucks the reader in and has you turning the pages until the very end. I was on the edge of my seat from the first chapter with my jaw-dropped. This one keeps the foot on the gas all the way through.
The author did an amazing job creating tension and developing the story. I enjoyed that each chapter flows well into the next despite each chapter generally changing the point of view from which the story is told. It is told from the narration of multiple characters, with most being told from the perspective of the main survivor, Angie, Agent Brenda Reynolds, and Jake. It was incredibly unique, however, to also have chapters told from the perspective of other supporting characters, as well as the “bad guys.” I loved the chemistry among the main characters and hope there are more stories to come!

I enjoyed this book. I definitely was interested in the development of what happened that night. This psychological thriller really had some good points and brought interesting perspective to some hard topics like human trafficking. The dog was a great addition to the story. I definitely would read more by this author.

This story is kind of like a Final Girl but she gets justice by helping to find the suspect. This was intriguing in so many ways and I absolutely loved the dog in this story, it made it so much better. I did find this a little cheesy and unrealistic at times but I was invested the entire time. Angie was a badass in the beginning and then shocked into silence and I was worried she’d never talk again but loved that Cody helped her through that. It was such a unique twist to have a dog be the rescuer in this. There were a few twists and things I absolutely did not see coming so that was fun and overall this was a good story. Just wish Angie didn’t come off so much as a helpless child and there wasn’t so much weird tension that I didn’t understand between Brenda and Jake.

This was the first Mark Nolan book I have read and it will not be the last. This was a fast-paced, thriller, with an amazing plot and great character building. I would highly recommend this thriller and cannot wait to make my way through this authors back catalogue.

I think the thing that makes this book so frightening (but very good) is that it is extremely realistic. You can imagine this really happens with tourists in a packed spring break town. The author clearly knows his way around the landscape of the story. Each detail makes it seem like this could be a newspaper expose rather than a novel. The characters are well built and I learned some things too – particularly about the VSRT!
I love a story that has a strong woman lead – this has two. FBI Special Agent Brenda Reynolds is fierce, caring, and loyal to her ethical code. Angie, the sole survivor of an attack, is the other main lead and she has some very strong instincts as well. The even better character than these two is the Golden Retriever, Cody. I love animals and have had some amazingly smart dogs in my life. Seeing them as a focal point in a novel is the perfect security for the thrill ride of the murder mystery. The tension between Brenda and Jake is palpable too and I can’t wait to read more about their budding partnership in future installments!

I have not had the privilege of reading any books by Mark Nolan before this one. I say that because I could not put this book down. The characters are amazing, the chemistry is off the charts, the plot is mesmerizing and all of that just makes for the best kind of book to lose yourself in.
Angie and her three friends plan a vacation trip for spring break but that all turns deadly when they are kidnapped and her three friends wind up dead. Angie barely escapes alive but is so traumatized that she is mute. In comes Brenda, an FBI agent who is part of an elite unit. It is her job to solve this heinous crime with some help from Jake and his dog Cody, unfortunately Brenda and Jake do not have the best relationship. Can they put their past run ins behind them to get to the bottom of this gruesome murder? Is Angie a victim or something more sinister like perpatrator of the murders?
There are more twists and turns to this book than a roller coaster. The characters are brilliantly thought out and leave you wanting to read the whole book in one sitting. If you like murder, mystery, thriller books then this is the book for you but definitely watch out not to read to late or you may find yourself losing out on sleep just to finish.

This was a very rare read that has me completely engaged from page one. This was the first book I had read from this author, but it is far from the last.

The police think Angie murdered her friends and she is shocked to her core, unable to speak on her innocence. A member of FBI, Brenda Reynolds, shows up to help figure out what’s going on. I read this book in one sitting! I really loved the relationship between the characters and the mystery throughout the book. Mark Nolan truly knocked it out of the park. I can’t wait to pick up more from him!

Reader’s Thoughts: I have not read a good mystery thriller in such a long time. The Girl Who Escaped was AMAZING! 5 stars AMAZING! Mark Nolan kept me on the edge of my seat the entire time rooting for Angie and her truth to come out. The storyline was believable, and the characters were all great assets to the storyline. There were a few twists to the plot throughout that kept me guessing. Be prepared to pick this up and spend the entire afternoon reading because you will NOT want to step away until the very end. I can’t wait to see what comes next from Mark Nolan. I will also be checking out some of his other novels.

This book was one that was so hard to put down. The chapters were well written and flowed. This book was the perfect combination of murder, suspense, and happiness. It was a page turner from the beginning an did not stop. Angie the “Sole Survivor” goes mute after not one but two brutal attacks, until a K-9 dog Cody comes to the rescue. He also comes with a steamy sidekick Jake.

This is the first book I’ve ever touched by this author…and I’m very upset with myself that it has taken me this long to discover this talent! This is one of those stories that, starting out, I wasn’t sure if it would grab me, but it sure did. I appreciate or don’t appreciate a book mostly based on how well the characters are written and how they come alive for me. This book has some great characters, not to mention a furry one that, for me, is the icing on the cake. The way this author makes a dog one of the most exciting characters is wonderful. I really enjoy a good-paced story with an interesting plot to keep my attention, and I wasn’t disappointed there, either. I will absolutely be looking into getting my hands on more books by this author because it is definitely worth the time.
