This was such a fun story to read! Naomi and her daughter Ella are ready for a fresh start in a new town.. until their arrival is shaken by the discovery of a murder in their shed. Taken in and supported by welcoming neighbors, they quickly learn the gossip of small town life over cup after cup of tea. Will they be able to solve the mystery murder and get settled in their new home or does danger continue to lurk?!
I love the way each quirky character compliments the next. They intertwine beautifully to bring the story to life! I couldn’t wait to keep turning pages and get the answers!This is the first book of a series that I can not wait to continue reading!

I LOVED this book! It was full of mystery and suspense and was just sort of quirky. The characters were all so well developed and what a tale it was! Moving to a new town is bad enough but when you find a dead body in your shed and are in the midst of a custody fight it tends to be a whirlwind. The sleuthing group was phenomenal and I couldn’t have put this one down if I’d tried! I can literally not wait to see what else comes from the series!!!!

This was such a great start to a new series! I loved the small town of Fayette and all of the colorful people who live there. The author did a great job of drawing me into the story and describing the town and townsfolk. I loved how realistic the characters all were. Like they are people you could imagine in your everyday life. Naomi, her daughter Ella and their very helpful tea drinking neighbors Barbara and Ingrid, make up an amazing quartet of women that just works. This was a delightful cozy murder story, with plenty of heart and humor. I can’t wait to see what happens next in the town and I am hopeful for a bit of romance for Naomi in the coming novels.

What a wonderful read this book was. Firstly I have to say I loved the title of the story, it certainly grabbed my attention and the cover for the book is so pretty. I don’t usually pay much attention to book covers but this one is lovely. This was a fun cozy mystery read and one that kept my attention from beginning to end. It was really entertaining to read. The main characters Naomi and Ella were great to read about and I loved Ingrid and Barbara too! I am so excited for this new series and if this first book is anything to go by its going to be a brilliant one! I can’t wait for book 2!

This was a new to me author and I really enjoyed this story! I’m usually pretty good at figuring out either who the bad guy is but this one I was wrong! (Which was a good thing means the author left you guessing)
I really liked the characters in this book, they were relatable and realistic. I want to get to know more of this small town and all the different people we met or hear about in this book. I will be reading more from this author if this book is anything to go off of.

A Spot of Earl Slay is the first book in the Tea Time Troubles series. I chose to read it simply off the name and cover art. I thought it was very cleaver and it sounded interesting. It is the first time I have read this author, and I am impressed. I was pulled in instantly, and kept engaged throughout. I love the characters and the quick connection they have with each other. Ella is hilarious, Naomi is brave and strong, and Barbara and Ingrid are super entertaining. They seem like they have a lot of history, and I liked hearing bits and pieces revealed. The ending was left a mystery, and I was no where near solving who the murderer was. That being said, I struggled with so many secondary characters. I am not sure I kept them all straight. Everyone seems to be related to someone else. In true small town way. It took me a while to mentally outline who everyone was to make the ending click. I look forward to the rest of the series. It was a quick cozy mystery that I enjoyed.

What a mystery story this is such a fun and entertaining book! The characters and just amazing and I love the combination of the mother and daughter. With thr neighbours in support I thought the relationships worked perfectly with the storyline. The story itself was really good. It was well thought out and a cute Cozy Mystery. This is a thoroughly enjoyable book that is worth the read.

Needing somewhere to warm up while the police finish their investigation, they meet their neighbors Barbara and Ingrid. They become fast friends and together they try to solve the murder case. This story is quirky and fun. There are relatable topics and the story keeps you sucked in. I can’t wait for the next installment.

I love the title, I’m a tea and murder mystery addict so a play on that already had me amused. I was right to choose this book as the first page had me invested in Naomi and Ella’s lives. I enjoyed the way that Naomi was written, her thoughts felt genuine and realistic and then her interactions with her daughter within the first page already amused me.
Naomi and Ella are great characters, funny and clever. They felt real to me, the kind of people I’d happily spend an afternoon with – and that’s how it felt reading this. I enjoyed being able to find them relatable, not only in the way they were written, but also in the issues they faced and obstacles to overcome outside of the murder. They’re up there in my favourite crime sleuths list!
Naomi and Ella are great, however they aren’t the only fun characters in this story. The book is filled with great characters, another two fun characters are the neighbours Barbara and Ingrid the tea drinking gossips – I absolutely loved their energy and they reminded me of a couple of friends.
This was such a fun and easy read that I would happily re-read, it was enjoyable and I got completely lost in it. I think I might have found my new favourite comfort series. With all the fun characters, investigating and (most importantly) tea, I can’t wait to get my hands on book 2!

Fun, easy cozy mystery to curl up to and such an enjoyable story. What happens when Naomi Front finally divorces her husband and uproots her daughter to a new home in a small town of Fayette? Nothing like arriving with what is the next step in their journey to hopefully come to a better place but rather be talk of the town moments upon arrival….yes a dead body at their new home’s shed. Who is this person and what happened?
Naomi’s neighbors, Ingrid and Barbara, whom are tea lovers at heart, try and “spill the tea” so to speak and try and piece together the puzzle of what become the newly deceased while also welcoming both Naomi and Ella into their little town. Secrets, money, lies and danger as trying to piece the clues together….will the ladies be able to solve this mystery before the the police while Naomi is battling her ex-husband and his family at the same time.
This is a very fun read…very enjoyable and the story really captured you right from the beginning. Can I say that Ingrid and Barbara (the neighbor ladies) were a total hoot! I am looking forward to getting my hands on book 2 of this series!

A Spot of Earl Slay is the first book in this fun new series by Aubrey Elle, the Tea Time Troubles series. I have not read anything by this author before and it was an easy read to settle into. What exactly does the small town of Fayette hold in store for our characters hoping for a change of pace and a new start? The town is full of quirky characters and town gossips and the like. This short story starts out with a corpse, an ex who wants to play hardball, and a plethora of suspects for this mother daughter duo to delve deep into investigating. It’s hard not to laugh when a teenager gets involved. This fun cosy mystery finds amateur sleuths Naomi and Ella and their tea-loving friends trying to solve the mystery of the death of the town gossip. Oh my goodness, I do believe I have found my favorite cozy of the year. Naomi and Ella get the “Welcome Wagon” special of a dead body in their shed when they arrive at their new home. From gossiping neighbors to the Moody police chief, I found the cast of characters delightful and quite entertaining as I tried to figure out who did it. I loved the writing because it was kind of laid back and kind of like it was a neighbor sharing a story with you. Ella’s teen mouth will have you laughing as she holds nothing back. A definite must read.

Other People’s Money is the seventh book in The Madeline Dawkins series by Cynthia Hamilton. Oh boy- Madeline and crew have their work cut out for them solving this slew of new cases. From embezzlement to unearthing a Gold Digger, every clue they uncover leads to more questions, complications, tangled web of secrets, manipulation, scams and cons, in the grab for other people’s money. But nothing is as it appears to be and the team seem to hit block after block- so will they ever manage to uncover the truth and finally close their cases- or will this be the time that Madeline and team get outplayed by the bad guys? Add in some tension, adventure, drama, mystery, suspense, doubts, and interconnected details- and things take quite an intriguing turn. This book could be read as a standalone- but I highly recommend reading the previous books before starting on this one, as even though each book is a self-contained mystery/adventure, and each delivers its own fantastic read- all combined, they help to build detail, character information and development, and impart other important and intriguing information that creates a bigger picture, which, in turn, will enhance your overall reading experience. So, trust me, it is definitely worth starting this series at the beginning! Cynthia Hamilton is one of my favourite authors, and Madeline Dawkins is one of my ‘must read- no questions asked’ series that I have loved since devouring book one. My emotions were riding a roller coaster in this novel. Simon is a good guy at heart, but his obsession with becoming a notorious outlaw gang member soon becomes something he dreads once he’s in Red’s gang. By the time he figures out it’s not what he wants, the bonds of friendships can’t be broken. Simon romanticizes what being in the gang is supposed to be like and things go sideways regularly. The daily danger and close quarters fuels a lot of emotions including feelings for one of his fellow outlaws. A relationship with another man is as dangerous as being an outlaw.
There is someone murdering gang members and leaving messages with the bodies. There were times I thought I knew who was killing the members of Red’s gang. The ending was surprising as to who the killer was! The Man In Black is an LGBT thriller and mystery that contains some violence, occasional foul language, and adult sexual situations.

Spirit Guide is the third book in the Madame Chalamet Ghost Mysteries series by Byrd Nash. This brings us another intriguing instalment in this captivating Gaslamp fantasy series. It is a paranormal cozy mystery with crime & investigation, sleuthing, ghosts, history, a moody atmosphere, intrigue, adventure, some humour, witty dialogue, slow-burn romance, dramatic developments, and interesting characters. I have loved this series from the beginning, so there was never any doubt that I would be reading this new instalment as soon as it released. Elinor Chalamet uses her mediumship skills to help solve puzzling mysteries. This instalment builds on the previous two books, providing a bigger picture as the mystery unfolds- also learning a lot more about Elinore along the way. Wow! Hunter Divine used to be a US Marshall and has since moved to having his own team of investigators. In book 2, Hunter and his crew head to Reno, Nevada and end up working an undercover case to find the blackmailer of Megan Getz, Hollywood royalty that got caught up in after a little indiscretion – at least according to her.
What they come to find out is that Megan is very overtly pursuing indiscretions all over town and doesn’t seem to have learned anything from the blackmail case that has even brought Hunter and his crew here. She tries over and over to seduce Hunter, who wants nothing to do with it.
In what he expected to be an easy case, they find all the members of the dark underbelly of the city and have targets on their backs. Bodies start showing up and Hunter and his team find themselves set up to take the fall. While at moments I really had trouble liking Hunter, there are several situations that give me hope for him, yet. Great scenery, wonderfully fleshed out characters and backstories a lot of grit and suspense and one hell of an ending to this book!

This was such a fun cozy mystery. This is the first in the series, and I just couldn’t put it down. It is a great start to a series, and I can’t wait to read more. There were fantastic characters and so many mini stories within the main story. It was very easy to read and follow along because the characters and storyline were well written. I truly can’t wait to read what’s next in this series.

This is a quick and enjoyable mystery story that is also quite light hearted and fun. It was an easy book to get into and is the kind of book that you read in one sitting. It was great to get caught up I the story the author was telling and the characters on the page. I wanted to see how things would place out and if the main character would figure it out. This is a relatively new author to me but so far I can definitely say I am a fan of her work. This book was thoroughly enjoyable and clearly the start of what will be a fun new series.
Delilah moved to Snowflake Valley for a fresh start. She buys a bakery that went out of business a few months ago after rumors of the previous owners supplementing their products with sawdust, and then of course there is the rumors of ghosts after the death of the girlfriend of one of their employees in their bakery. When Delilah first moves in, she sets to getting things ready and open, and thinks she’s lucked into the perfect situation, until weird things begin to happen in her bakery and at her new home. With twists and turns that will keep you guessing. This book is told from several different perspectives, and the links aren’t always clear until nearly the end of the book, but the reveal is worth the wait. If you enjoy mysteries, who-dun-it’s and surprises, this is a good book for you.

Join Delilah “Mitzy” Crumbworthy as she moves to Snowflake Valley to start a new adventure opening a bakery shop, specifically muffins. Delilah is overwhelmed with opening her store, meeting all the townsfolk, and discovering secrets buried deep within the town. I really enjoyed the characters and getting to know them on a personal level along with Delilah. I was especially drawn to Elinor. The story pulls you right in and each chapter keeps you reading well past your bedtime.

The Muffin Shop Murder: A Delilah Crumbworthy Mystery is the first book in The Delilah Crumbworthy Mystery Series. This is a cozy mystery set in the small town of Snowflake Valley. Delilah is new to town and has always dreamed of moving to Snowflake Valley, a picturesque small town. When she opens her muffin shop, she hears stories about the bakery that used to be where her shop is located. Are the rumors true? Delilah is smart and savvy with a heart of gold. She wants to fit in and make a place for herself in her new community. So, with her new friend and employee, she discovers the story of the previous business and some other odd happenings centered around her new shop. I enjoyed this light read. It read quickly and filled a cold afternoon. There are a lot of quirky characters in this small town, and it will be interesting to see how they become more involved in future books. I’m glad I picked this book up and will keep an eye out for more from this author.
If you are like me and love a detailed story then this book of for you. The author doesn’t skip over even the smallest of details making the picture form that much more clearly. This cute (yes, I know cute is an interesting word to use to describe crime) mystery is full of drama, intrigue, fun and charm. This was my first book by this author and they did not disappoint. I felt the both the storyline and the characters were very well developed and complementary toward each other. While this was a fairly quick read I have to say I thoroughly enjoyed it.
