I really enjoyed this story by Author Nicole Flockton. Ryan is a very successful plastic surgeon and wants to be part of something more and parts ways with his partner, whom is all about money and greed. When Ryan gets a phone call that his adoptive father, Colin, was in a very serious accident, he heads back to Bunya Junction. Sindy Carruthers went back to Bunya Junction after her relationship went wrong. Sindy ended up working for Colin as a nurse and thought highly of Colin. When Colin passes away, Ryan and Sindy find out they are both half owners of his practice that he is leaving behind. Fate brought them together, can they both heal and love. This is a great contemporary romance and I loved the setting in Australia. I cannot wait to dive into book 2 :).

Home to the Outback is a starter novel to the Welcome to Bunya Junction series. It’s a small-town romance between two adults. Ryan has recently dissolved his partnership with who he thought was his good friend. When his mentor passes away, he moves back to his small hometown where he reconnects with Sindy, his old friend’s sister. This book reminded me of the TV show, Hart of Dixie, if it were set in Australia.

I really love this author – her stories are so easy to read and really enjoyable. I really liked Sindy and Ryan, they were both really lovely characters and I loved reading about them. The authors way with her characters makes them really likeable and relatable and I found that to be the same in this book as previous ones. I felt the heartbreak of the characters and I was definitely rooting for the two of them the whole way through. They seemed to have a genuine connection which felt real and not forced!
I would definitely recommend this book and as always, I look forward to more from this author again in the future.

Home to the Outback is the first in the Bunya Junction book series by Nicole Flockton. This was a sweet story of returning to your hometown and finding all that you actually needed in life was there for you. At first, Dr. Ryan Flanagan seems like he will be full of arrogance but the more we are given into his character, he becomes a very loving and caring individual. I like how he grew into who he became. Most often, plastic surgeons are portrayed as indulgent and snobbish, but this is not the case with Ryan. Sindy Carruthers is the nurse that steals Ryan’s heart and is overcoming her own demons that had her return to Bunya Junction 2 years prior to Ryan’s return and working alongside Ryan’s father figure in the local medical practice. I would absolutely recommend this read. It’s a very easy to get into and short enough that I found my afternoon swept away by the characters. I will be looking out for the next books in this series.

I can always count on Nicole Flockton to deliver an enjoyable story as was swept along on another wonderful read! This story definitely had all the ingredients to hold my attention- right from beginning to end. I enjoyed the story so much I read it in one sitting.
Home to the Outback is the first book in the Welcome To Bunya Junction series by Nicole Flockton. This is a contemporary romance, ’my best friends’ sister’ type story with Ms. Flockton’s own unique touches. There also plenty of emotion, drama, some danger, and secrets- all set in a small country town called Bunya Junction in the Australian outback.
Sindy Carruthers returned to her hometown three years earlier, when life got ugly. She has made a new life for herself managing the local medical clinic and feels like she finally has her life back on track. But with the death of the local doctor- life once again throws her a bit of a curve ball- in the form of Dr. Ryan Flanagan who arrives to attend the funeral of his friend and mentor. Then to make things even more complicated, they find that they have both been named in the will. Gaining a half share in the medical practice. Add a little danger, secrets, drama, and angst, and we have a captivating story.
A great start to this new series and I am really looking forward to reading the rest of the instalments!

Thank you, Nicole Flockton!

Home to the Outback (Welcome to Bunya Junction Book 1) by Nicole Flockton is a beautiful and sweet contemporary romance. It is an emotional story and a great start to a new series. Being set in the Outback of Australia makes it easy for me to imagine, being from Australia myself.
With bad relationships behind them and after being attacked they are both still facing the battle scars as they return home to their childhood small town. There they are reunited by tragedy, and they find the one thing they hoped for but didn’t think they would find.
I’m eager to get my hands on the next book.

This is a cute romance story that I enjoyed from beginning to end. This is not a new author for me and this is one of my favorites by her yet. This is a well written story about Sindy who has to return home a little broke and takes up practice as a nurse. She is doing great on her own until he pops up in her life again. Ryan has come home only to find that he has been given half of a practice, the other half is owned by her. He has no intentions of staying all that long but will he change his mind? These two never expected to be thrown together in one practice nor did they expect what happens to their hearts. I enjoyed the growth of these two and what they brought to the story. They are connectable and really just made the story for me. I also enjoyed their chemistry together. I found myself hoping that they would get a happy ever after at the end. This is a fun, entertaining, engaging story that I had a hard time putting down. It was a great afternoon read. I highly recommend this book.

Home to the Outback (Welcome to Bunya Junction, #1)Home to the Outback by Nicole Flockton
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This book brought a lot of emotion on for me, but in a good way, it really was enjoyable in more ways than one. I really connected with the characters, especially as I went through learning about them and the events that made them who they were to where we are at this point in time. It was hauntingly beautiful at times, and the story itself brought on more emotions for me, but in a good way I would say.

Sindy and Ryan were two souls, who basically have their life’s set, and the choices they made defined them. In truth though, were these choices ones provided by longings of their heart or just what their brains may have have thought best suited for them? Through a wake of sadness, of a character that had passed, that really helped define Sidney and Ryan, brings them both together, there may be some unexpected occurrences brought on by this. They inherit a late doctors business. To one character he was their true father figure, and to the other they were a employer as well as a good friend, The pain and loss brings on a lot of emotions and not understanding how Sidney and Ryan came to gain this business.

Through their time together, there were moments of where they seemed to be fed up with one another. Other times, they opened up and about their pain and suffering and where they came from, and I felt for them both separately . If there was not enough going on, Sidney has to deal with her past again in a bad way, trough this lets say suspenseful time, it brought these two souls together and they really for one another. Realized its not just chemistry that this perhaps could be the best thing that ever happened to them, only if they allowed it and fought for it. Sometimes you get called home, not because you think tis a good idea, because sometimes the best things can be found where your life first began. Watching them grow closer was beautiful in many ways, and I loved how the story went for sure!

The book made me feel many thing as I said. The warm soothing feelings it brought, as well as the tear falling moments. All in all, we can not deny this is an wonderful book to read, and its a book I will defiantly will re read again. I would want to revisit this town and characters again with no doubt.. The author did an wonderful job of the character development and all the surrounding components. Really enjoyed reading! This is one, I think all of us need to read, its not one to be missed and that’s a fact.

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

A Merry Texan Christmas (Prentice Brothers of Sweet Ridge, #3) by Nicole Flockton was a fun 5 star read and once I started I couldn’t put it down.

Trey has retired from baseball and moved back to town. He has bought a bookstore and to get attention he decorates the storefront for Christmas. In doing this he has caused some hard feelings from Maggie.

Maggie is the school librarian and she loves Christmas. Her biggest joy is decorating all the store fronts. On her way to work she gets a shocker when she sees a crowd in front of the bookstore. She discovers that her high school crush Trey is back in town and is now her biggest competition for storefront decorating.

Trey is immediately drawn to Maggie, they both have the same love for Christmas and they have a connection. Maggie brushes the connection off thinking it’s nothing but her crush showing. As they spend more time together she starts to see more in Trey.

Can they have more together? Will Trey reconnect with his family?

Overall this was a great read. There were several things going on in Trey’s life along with pursuing Maggie. Their connection was great and you could feel the connection coming off the pages. I had some LOL moments and really enjoyed Maggie and her little dog. If you’re looking for a fun holiday romance 1-click and get started today. I look forward to reading more from this author.

By Nicole Flockton

I loved this book and this series as a whole. I enjoyed getting to know all the Prentice Brothers. This is Trey’s story, he has moved back home after retiring from his baseball career. He is now a bookstore owner and since he loves Christmas so much he decided to make a Christmas window display. Maggie, who is also known as Miss Christmas and when she saw his window display she was not happy because doing the town’s window displays is her thing. These two end up having to work together, the chemistry between these two is off the charts. The banter between these two had me grinning while reading this wonderful story. Now that Trey is back he also wants to be closer to his brothers. What will happen between Maggie and Trey? Will Trey get closer to his brothers? This is a must read, I couldn’t put this romantic, fun, holiday story down. I highly recommend this book.

A Merry Texan Christmas was an absolutely adorable read! It follows Trey Prentice, the oldest Prentice brother, on his journey to a new chapter in his life after retiring from professional baseball.

Maggie Watson is the school librarian and all around Christmas lover. Known as Miss Christmas during December, she is ready this year to make her window dressing business the most successful it has been. That is, until Trey Prentice might ruin it all.

Trey Prentice has a secret that no one really knows. After living in New York so long playing baseball he has developed a huge love for Christmas. He never thought decorating his new shop window would chsnge his life forever though!

I absolutely love Trey and Maggie! Maggie has something to prove to herself and Trey as a family to reconnect with. Can they do their own things together? I absolutely adore Sweet Ridge, Texas! I hope there is more from this lovely Texas small town someday!

This is such a fun Christmas romance I absolutely loved it! It matched the perfect level of lightheartedness with an amazing story. While it never seemed to take itself too seriously the story line was just a well developed and interesting.
I don’t usually like too many holiday romances as I find them a bit too cliche this one was entertaining and just great from start to finish. The characters worked so well together and made the book amusing. This is a great book to add to the series and probably me favourite so far.

A Merry Texan Christmas is the 3rd book in the Prentice Brothers of Sweet Ridge series by Nicole Flockton. Each book focuses on a different brother and contains a full story, therefore each book in the series can be read as a standalone. I have read several of Nicole Flockton’s book so far, including the 2nd book in this series and I’ve always enjoyed them. This book carried on the tradition as I thoroughly enjoyed this book too.
As the title suggests there is a Christmas theme to this book and it plays a very large part in the storyline, particularly as the heroine of the story Maggie is called Miss Christmas by the residents of Sweet Ridge. When baseball star Trey Prentice retires and moves home to Sweet Ridge is he about to steal her title from her and become Mr Christmas?
I loved the characters of Maggie and Trey. Maggie is super sweet and adores her role as Miss Christmas. Trey is also a super sweet character. His little gestures of hot chocolate and donuts for Maggie shows a more vulnerable side to his character. Added to the adorable characters is Chester, Maggie’s adorable pup who she dresses in matching Christmas outfits to match her own.
This book is a great read and as it’s not a very long book I managed to devour it in a few hours. I would definitely recommend this book.

A Merry Texan Christmas (Prentice Brothers of Sweet Ridge, #3)A Merry Texan Christmas by Nicole Flockton
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This was a really enjoyable and engaging contemporary romance with added Christmas spirit which put me in the festive mood. I have enjoyed the two previous books in ‘The Prentice Brothers of Sweet Ridge’ series and I also loved this one. As usual the author brings us great characters in,Trey and Maggie. Former baseball star Trey Prentice is happy with his new life as a bookstore owner in his hometown of Sweet Ridge, Texas. Although he loved his competitive and elite lifestyle in New York he is enjoying a more quiet life and being able to spend time with his family and friends. In the lead up to Christmas Trey excitedly decorates the bookstore and joins in with the town’s holiday traditions but soon finds himself doing battle with Sweet Ridge’s own Miss Christmas. Miss Christmas is actually Christmas loving librarian Maggie Watson who each year decorates the shop windows and spreads Christmas cheer around the town. Maggie is unimpressed when she discovers she has competition in cocky Trey and is determined not to let him take away her Christmas crown. However, when the couples verbal sparring turns into flirting Maggie wonders if there’s more to life than books and Christmas but her past insecurities threaten to get in the way of her happiness. This is a wonderfully heartwarming romance between two very likeable and relatable characters and I was cheering them on hoping they would get their happy ending. The storyline is full of romance and Christmas vibes and the narrative flows well making this a lighthearted and easy read. A great book to get anyone into the Christmas spirit!

A Merry Texan Christmas (Prentice Brothers of Sweet Ridge #3) by Nicole Flockton

Trey, the eldest and baseball player, finally comes home to settle down. Thing is though, he never thought about finding love. He comes to find that he’s not the only one who loves Christmas. The quote I chose for Trey is: “I’m not going to deny I was a little taken aback, but it’s not something I’m going to keep bringing up. I’m also sorry you had to find out about this contract the way you did. I’m going to discover how it happened. I don’t like that it’s out like this. The Stars now believe that I’m going to play with them and I haven’t even given serious thought to what I’m going to do.”

Maggie, school librarian and towns’ window dresser, finds herself in some competition. What happens when her crush from school moves back? The quote I chose for Maggie is: “You’re right. I need to go. I love him. I don’t want to go through what I’ve gone through the last few days without him nearby. I’ve got to suck it up and find out what he has to say.”

Highly recommended for contemporary romance lovers.

A Merry Texan Christmas was a great read from the very beginning. Maggie Watson also known as Miss. Christmas will have her work cut out for her this year when she wakes up and sees a crowd gathering around a book store. When she sees the window that was decorated beautifully she is beside herself. Trey Prentice Is a retired baseball player who has moved back to town and now owns the local used bookstore. Not only does he own the bookstore but he can create an amazing Christmas display. Will the towns shop owners now want Trey to decorate their windows?
Trey and Maggie were both attracted to each other but will Maggie ever give Trey a chance? This book had some flirting, some banter and some romance. This was a perfect holiday read to get you in the spirit. You definitely won’t want to miss out on this one.

Such a perfect book to read at this time of year to enter me into the Christmas season and boost my Christmas spirits. I quickly became lost in the story, and couldn’t wait to see what would happen at each turn. Trey and Maggie’s chemistry is awesome! It is really sweet that Maggie “used” to have a crush on him, but we all know she never lost that crush. The love she has for Christmas is everything I wish I was. Their little rivalry is cute and had me smiling. Trey seems like the perfect man to me, he is retired from baseball and now runs a book store and it doesn’t hurt that of course he is good looking. The fact that he can decorate a window for Christmas doesn’t hurt either. Watching these two grow in their relationship and in general is sweet and fun to watch. I really enjoyed this series, and I’m sad it has ended. Are you sure there are no other secret brothers we can add in?

A Merry Texan Christmas is book 3 in the Prentice Brothers series by Nicole Flockton. I am yet to read the other books in this series (although I will definitely put them on my ‘to read’ list now), but this book can be enjoyed as a standalone read.
Maggie Watson is a librarian in a little town in Texas, the type of place where everyone knows your business and your neighbours are your friends. I always love books that have that small town feel, full of characters not just people.
Trey Prentice is a former baseball star who is now back in his hometown and running the local bookstore. He bonds with Maggie over their enjoyment of Christmas lights and decorations, and when the mayor calls upon ‘Mr and Mrs Christmas’ to join forces they soon become more than friends.
This is a lovely Christmas read, and the perfect way to spend your afternoon if you’re looking for a feel good read. The characters are a joy to read, and really bring the story to life.

A Merry Texan Christmas is the third book in the Prentice Brothers of Sweet Ridge series by Nicole Flockton. This is a sweet, small town contemporary romance, with plenty of fun, all the Christmas feels, and just enough drama to keep things interesting. I really loved this Holiday Romance, and as expected it is a wonderful addition to the Prentice Brothers series.
Trey Prentice has put aside his baseball career to take on life as a bookstore owner- embracing life in Sweet Ridge. With Christmas fast approaching, Trey can’t wait to decorate and make his shop a little Christmas wonderland. But he is going to have some stiff competition in the form of Maggie Watson, the local librarian, and Sweet Ridge’s resident Christmas decorating guru. Her knack for all things Christmas has even earned her the tittle of Miss Christmas. Let the competition begin. But she’s not going to go down easy- especially to the arrogant newbie. With plenty of Christmas shenanigans and fun, what happens next makes for a really great read.
If you are looking for a Christmas story that will captivate you right from the beginning, then this is definitely the book you have been looking for.

Thank you, Nicole Flockton!

In the third book Trey, the oldest Prentice brother, comes back home to Sweet Ridge after retiring from his baseball career and buys the local second hand book store. He’s okay with the knowledge that he’s back home but still a little unsure he made the right decision. Will he stay in Sweet Ridge or head back to play baseball?

A Merry Texan Christmas (Prentice Brothers of Sweet Ridge Book 3) by Nicole Flockton. This story was just what I needed this year. In fact this series has quickly become one of my top favorites. Trey and Maggie May have just made their way to my favorites but don’t tell the others because each have been amazing to read about. But these two just captured a piece of my heart. They immediately pulled me into their world and I had so much fun getting lost with them for a while. They are so easy to connect with and I loved the chemistry they shared. Every character brings something unique to the storyline and I just simply couldn’t put this story down. Another fantastic addition to this series. Five stars all the way and highly recommended!
