This book is a great addition to the series and, for me, is all about the characters. I thought the connection between them was really strong and I could believe the relationship as it developed. The fight between them combined with the growing attraction was fascinating to see. This author is still relatively new to me but with each new book of hers I read the more I find I like her. The wroting is strong and the books are always interesting. This was a great story and I look forward to discovering more.

I want to start by saying my expectations were set very high for this book. I loved the first book in the Philly Heat series. I definitely was excited to continue the series. Lexi is a cop with survivor’s guilt. I would say that her introduction was very relatable. I think anyone who has survivor’s guilt is on a self-destructive path. The department is concerned about whether she is fit to continue her job position. They place a new partner with her, who is secretly examining if she can continue the job. Their first case as “partners” is to hunt down a child killer. As they work on this case, their chemistry is undeniable and as a reader this jumps of the page. One thing I’ve learned to expect from Becky Flade is well written characters who have a chemistry that just oozes off the page. This does not disappoint! I loved this story so very much.

My reviews for these books and this author feel like they have become repetitive because all I can do is rave about how good they. This book is another in a long line of amazing and well written books that are all exciting, fast paced and just brilliant. I was hooked as soon as I started reading and could not put it down until I had finished. The story is just was complicated and angst ridden as the others and the characters fit it so well. Becky Flade is one of my favorite authors and the Philly Heat series is one that I absolutely love. This third installment in the series is just as wonderful as the first two. Once again, Becky delivers with wonderfully written characters and chemistry that jumps off of the pages. This time she includes several twists that I did not see coming. Trudy is a Medical Examiner who gives all into her work. However the other side of her is incredibly caring and feeling. After a major explosion, the clean up crews found way more than they bargained for. They find decades old bones which means that there is the potential that this can solve a cold case. Trudy is determined to find out who the bones belong to. She reaches out to an anthropologist named Ben. Ben and Trudy are such opposites, that it only makes sense that there would be chemistry between them. Becky makes this chemistry absolutely palpable to the reader. I loved this story! I definitely recommend reading this. Its a great easy to read book with amazing characters.

I don’t know where to begin. I felt actual pain in my heart at the end of Chapter 24. I was aghast. I almost couldn’t continue. But I had to get to the end to know how it was fixed. Amazing. Can’t wait for the 3rd book.
Austin is still heartbroken that Mavis chose his twin over him. There is a small glimmer of hope with Casey but how can he pursue her from 2000 miles away. Austin gets the chance of his life. His law firm partners ask him to oversee the opening of the new Chicago office. This gives him a chance to not only escape the drama at home but move on, possibly with Casey. Austin jumps at the chance.
Casey is floundering without Mavis. Mavis was her champion, her strength, her best friend, her sister. With Mavis moved back to California to be with the love of her life, what now? It is crazy to think Austin would be interested. He surprises her by telling her that he is moving to Chicago and agrees to live with her. Maybe they can see if there is a possibility. As Casey and Austin grow closer, Mavis’ wedding looms in the future. So many things come to a head when Austin and Casey return to California for the wedding. Will this mean the end of Casey and Austin?
Destroyed. Still not over it. Not sure I ever will be. How could that be said? And with the step up for Book 3?? OMG!!! I don’t know if my heart can take the wait. Read this book. Read this series. But be prepared for the book hangover. I am warning you in advance. It will be a while before you can heal and move on from this emotional game of love.

I had an inkling this book would leave me with a cliffhanger based on the previous book, but I’m not as upset this time around. It is better to read the book and series before this or you won’t understand certain references but the action can be enjoyed regardless of where you are in the series. This book doesn’t have as many references to previous books but they are there. Chloe has definitely grown throughout this book. She is still a cluts and not very handy in a fight, but she is more willing to try. Her heartfelt attempts are still for others, but some of it begins to spark for herself and it’s wonderful to see her confidence strengthen. Quinn was a lot less enjoyable this book as his anger and prejudice take over his best qualities; but the slow burn between him and Chloe is a nice turn from the bleak mood of the novel. Faerie is dying from iron poisoning after the mortals have infiltrated it. It seems every direction they turn they are met with opposition and only by putting their heads together can they figure out a way to save Faerie. The characters in this book are enjoyable to read even when they are being asshats. The scenes are detailed enough to envision it in your mind. The ending has me ready to see how things will progress with the next book.

Wow just WOW!! This is the first book I have read by this wonderful author but I know it definitely will not be my last. I started with the 3rd book of this series and I thoroughly enjoyed it BUT I will be back tracking to read the first 2 books and then reading this again because apart from the enjoyment of reading them all I am sure it will further enhance the series for me. I mean a Great Mystery and Ancient Egypt who could resist that! This book truly has it all happening, tomb raids and a plague just to name a couple things. With loads of twists and turns along the way creating an intriguing storyline, this is a page turner from start to finish that you simply do not want to miss! I loved the characters, the storyline and the way this amazing author had my imagination firing with every word.

I was super excited when this book finally came out, and I was not disappointed with this second book to the amazing adventure of Chloe and Quintus. Chloe has come a long way in the last book trying to save the faerie from humas. The detail in this book made me feel like I was in the book watching from the side lines. This book had a lot of emotions, from excitement, the anticipation, laughter, sad, angry and everything in between it made for an excellent well put together book, that I just could not put down. Highly recommend this book with the fantasy, adventure element to this book.

Dia’s Lure is the third book in the Solstice Quartet series and is a wonderfully written Paranormal/Fantasy/Romance that once you start reading there’s no stopping until you finish. I suggest reading in order as each book helps in understanding what has been going on. This is an emotional journey about being broken until they find people who make them feel worthy. My heart ached for these characters at times. This is packed with mystery, drama, humor, magic and shifters. As I don’t want to give to much away I highly recommend reading this book to find out what happens next. I’m definitely ready for the next book in this series.

Wow what a great fantasy book. I like finding different genres and this is quite a little gem. I like how the author takes the magical world and paints a wonderful story. The characters have a bit of complexity that brings depth to the story. I really like how there is a bit of drama as well as adventure. I really thought this was a good book and a little out of my genre selection but was very glad that I did read it. I will definitely be reading more from this author in future.
Yesterday’s Over (Philly Heat Series Book 3) by Becky Flade. This has been one of my favorite series I’ve read this year and this book was no different. I loved it. Its the story of Trudy is a hard working, strong lady who is the Medical Examiner for the City of Philadelphia. She always is diligent and caring about her victims and does the very best for the families. When the city is rocked with a huge explosion Trudy is called out to search for the bones and she ends up calling in back up. She finds Ben who is an anthropologist and he sets out to help Trudy identify these bones. While working together they don’t hit it off automatically but as time goes by they become closer. While they are searching for clues as to who set off this bomb they are getting threats from someone that doesn’t want them to find out who committed this crime. This causes Trudy and Ben to end up in a very dangerous situation. Will they be able to solve this case and survive as well? Will they end up with a realtionship out of this tragedy. Read this great book to find out!

What a wonderful story! I have been shocked and surprised once again by this author! She has a way of weaving the tale and making me fall for the amazing characters. It took a bit to get everything set in place before everyone’s world gets shaken up. But once that begins it is a ride til the end.
At first I was surprised over this being Petty’s story. I had no real feelings for him either way after him being in Red’s story. He definitely has a rough road and attitude to overcome. The author does a wonderful job tackling a harder subject…especially in relations to a biker (1%er no less) and she did it well
This is the third in this series and while I highly recommend reading Red’s story first it is not necessary. I became entangled in the characters’ lives and was rooting for them. I look forward to the next.

Petty’s Crime is the third installment of the Satan’s Devils MC Las Vegas Chapter series, part of the broader Satan’s Devils MC collection. I love these books – I know with each one I’m in for some reliably good storytelling and familiar characters I’ve grown fond of, but also something completely new and unexpected. I could not put this book down. The narrative switches between perspectives meaning you have to keep reading to get to the stage where you find out what happens next. There are plenty of twists along the way, and clues that will keep you guessing about what’s really going on. There are some fantastic characters in this series! It was great to see more of Petty, and also get to know other members of the MC who I’m sure will have their own stories in due course. And of course to check up on Red, Cher and Zeke. Like many of the books in this series, there is content that may be triggering for some – in this case most notably descriptions of domestic violence and sexual abuse. It’s approached sensitively, with a focus on characters coming to terms with and starting to heal from their experiences. This book gets another five stars from me! You could dive into the series here but I think a better entry point would be Red’s Peril, or even going back to the beginning with Turning Wheels. It’s a great series – every book is a joy to read and will leave you wanting more (and, thankfully, there is plenty more!).

Another great Mafia story that will have your emotions all over the place. Chase and Katarina are both very different people. One is the boss and the other is the princess. Chase is the CEO of a big company as well as belonging to the biggest crime syndicate. Katarina the princess that she is, but also the daughter of the man within his own Mafia syndicate. As these two worlds come together you will find yourself right in the middle. I absolutely love this author. I never read the Synopsis, I just buy the book and start reading. She never disappoints! This story is loaded with twists and turns that will keep you reading. The story is well written and easy to keep on track with. The characters are perfect for the parts they play, The Boss and The Princess you will just need to read this story to see what happens next. No spoilers here!

This is the third book in the Philly Heat series. I really enjoyed this story. It is so much more than a romance which is what I loved about it. There is romance in it but it is also full or mystery, danger and intrigue as Ben and Trudy try to get to the bottom of the mysterious old bones that have turned up. Were they buried there by accident or is there a killer still on the loose.
I love the characters of Ben and Trudy. Trudy is a very strong character, she is determined to find the truth about the mysterious bones no matter the risk or what she has to do. Ben on the other hand is happy just examining the bones and isn’t too bothered about the origins of them. They work together on this case and their feelings begin to blossom but will Ben been reluctant to support Trudy in her quest for the truth and the fact that killer could still be out there Ben is also reluctant to allow Trudy to put herself in a position to get harmed. Will Trudy see this for the caring protective way it is meant or will she see it as Ben being non supportive and standing in her way. Can their new found romance survive this challenging and dangerous time.
I loved this story and the romance. The author does an amazing job of captivating the reader

Being born into a Mafia family means life is never normal. College was supposed to be a period of time where Liliana, Sofia, Emiliana, and Marissa get to at least pretend to be closer to normal than how they had grown up. Senior year has approached and despite it being their last year of freedom, their families start making plans for their future. Each of them is faced with the inevitable prospect of marrying someone they don’t love or even like. When a Russian mafia member is spotted watching the girls’ house, it can only mean their time is running short. As they each face their fears and cling to the last vestiges of their normal-ish lives, can they make it through together? Or will they succumb to the mafia way and be punished for unknowingly putting themselves in harm’s way?
This prequel answered a lot of questions from the Mafia Elite series that were always mentioned but never truly explained in depth. I enjoyed getting to see the girls in their “formative” years before their lives were not really their own. Each perspective brings a different view into how the girls really became a unit that would do anything for each other. My heart broke a little for each of them as they had to go through yet another tragedy to realize that their lives really are not their own and that they are just pawns in the greater scheme of the Mafia life.
This book is incredibly touching and will have you rooting for Austin, Casey, and even Lauren (Josh & Austin’s sister). The author touches on Lauren’s story here in book 2 but this is mostly to introduce her. You’ll learn more about Lauren in book 3. Austin and Casey are the pair that you love to see together. They have chemistry and they have both deserve happiness. The author has put together a story that will have you drawn in from the beginning. You will want to read ‘I Love You Yesterday’ first. The book picks up right after the first one ended. There is tension and drama as feelings are dealt with. New romance is on the horizon but can it last among new jobs and friends speaking about “concerns”, etc.? The author deals with every issue that comes up with these type of relationships whether rich or poor. The characters are well-developed and show there true-colors. I have to say Mavis is not my favorite. Lauren is more of a BFF to Casey. This is an entertaining read that will have you feeling all the ‘feels’ as you read it. I would give it more than 5 stars if I could. Wonderfully done! I can’t wait to read Lauren’s story.

Dia’s Lure (Solstice Quartet Book 3) by Catherine Peace. This is a great series. I do think you need to read the first two books to get to know the characters and understand the story better. Its the continuing story of Dia who has been on the run for years. She has self isolated and has been keeping her self from friends and family. When she runs into someone from her past things turn very unclear. Carver is a journalist and Dia has said she will never forgive him for his past mistakes. When Milos and Carver become friends things get very tricky. Will Dia be able to let anyone get close to her? Will she be able to forgive the people that have wronged her? Once Dia is captured will she be able to escape? This is a fast paced paranormal romance that will keep you reading late into the night.
Misfortune of Song was another great read from the Druid’s brooch series! I have kind of dipped in and out of the series and haven’t read the books in order however the ones that I have read, including this one, have been really enjoyable reads. I find that I am instantly transported into the imaginative and creative worlds that this author has created. The characters are always well thought out and you find that you can’t help but want to see what happens to them in their story. There is a lot of action in this story which definitely kept my interest from beginning to end. I really enjoy historical fiction so it’s great that I can add this series to my collection of ones that I have enjoyed reading. I would definitely recommend this book and the series, the authors writing is fantastic, very creative and the stories are definitely entertaining. I am definitely looking forward to reading the other books in the series!

If you are anything like I am, then you don’t do things in order! Dia’s Lure is the third book in the Solstice Quartet by Catherine Peace. I didn’t pay attention to the title when I picked up this book and didn’t notice that it was the 3rd book in a series. Which honestly, I didn’t pay any attention to due to the book being very entertaining. There was tension, emotion, and some steamy chemistries that were set on high-mode that definitely made for some intense reading!! Now, I do highly recommend reading the previous books before starting on this one (you know so you’re not lost like I was at first!) it is nice to know what has happened and what is going on with some of the other characters and their backstories, this will 100% change the way that you interpret the story of Dia! This is a story that has mystery, romance, drama, trouble, steamy chemistry, and the list goes on and on! I definitely have to say that Catherine Peace put a lot of thought and emotion into her writing, and I thank her for that! The characters, storyline, the whole plot was very well thought out! And that ending though!!!! I can’t wait to go back and read book 1 & 2, as well as the 4th book in the series! Happy reading!

As with pretty much any book of poetry, there were poems that spoke to me and there were poems that didn’t…which is why I love poetry because you never know what will speak to you. I always recommend poetry books. I will say the reason I didn’t give this a 5-star rating was because I felt that some of the poems could have been more flushed out and developed. Some felt a little cliché to me. Two poems really stood out to me: “Sunrise” and “Perfection”. These really resonated with me and I definitely re-read them and will be re-reading them over and over again. I highly recommend Lily Lawson’s Rainbow’s Red Poetry Book…read it and take what resonates with you.

Trudy and Ben are amazing. Through all they have to deal with since first discovering the skeletal remains, they forge this incredible bond, and truly get to know each other’s entire being. The trauma, the mystery, the heartache and the love you get to experience along with the characters is so pure, and it just feels so REAL.
This book had me on the edge of my seat, during the entire thing. I read it in one sitting and felt like I was IN the story with them. I loved every minute of it, and Trudy and Ben are forever one of my favourite scientist couples.

What a great young adult story written by a new author to me. The main character is an individual that you cannot help but cheer for and wish that they were your own best friend. I was immediately drawn into this story and could not put it down. There were so many plot twists and turns that I was on the edge of my seat. There were a couple of occasions where I laughed until I cried. My family was looking at me like I was crazy so I would explain what was going on to them. In fact, my brother has now asked to read the book because he was entertained by what I was telling him. I highly recommend this book whether you are a young adult or an adult. It was so good. I look forward to reading the next book in this series.

Having read and enjoyed the first book in this trilogy, I was looking forward to this sequel, and I was not disappointed. I was intrigued to know what was next for Austin, his twin brother Josh and Mavis. Having lost the girl he loved to Josh, Austen decides to relocate to Chicago, in order to get over Mavis, especially once Josh and Mavis are engaged. When he meets the easy going, impulsive and sometimes reckless Cubs fan, Casey, the fact she’s everything that Austen isn’t, is exactly what he needs. Austen wasn’t planning on actually falling in love with Casey, but when he’s offered his dream promotion and he has to choose between moving to Los Angeles or staying in Wrigley Field with her, he realises their relationship isn’t just a bit of fun anymore. Austen has to choose between either his career or the girl who helped put his heart back together. This was a heartwarming romance, which had me hooked throughout. Having read that Mavis and Josh had their HEA, it was nice to find out what was in Austen’s future. I loved Casey and thought she was perfect for Austen, and their chemistry really came across in the narrative. I was cheering them on hoping they would both get their HEA. Although it can be read as a standalone story, I would personally recommend reading the books in order. This was a real page turner, and I look forward to the final instalment in this enjoyable and engaging trilogy.

This is the third book in the series. I have not read the previous books and I was able to pick up on everything that’s going on in the story. That being said, it would probably make even more of an impact if I had read the previous stories. There are a lot of things to love about this story. The world building is excellent and detailed. The characters have a lot of depth. And the story line is intriguing. The first part of the story is a little slow, but it picks up later on and keeps you glued to the pages. Overall, a great read!
This is the first piece I’ve read by this author, and it will not be the last. I chose to read this book because I love history and the prospect of time travel has always fascinated me. I remember watching 60’s The Time Machine with my parents, so I was intrigued right away. It is evident that the author is talented and knowledgeable of the times and places included in this book. I am also a lover of wonderfully-written characters and how they interact and grow throughout the story, and I found myself fully engrossed and not wanting to put the book down. This story would make a great series because I know everyone who reads it will be left wanting more and more! Can’t wait to see what this author does next!

This book was a new author for me, and I must say the writing was beyond exceptional. I could not get enough of the characters or story that was stitched together. Honestly, I was mesmerized all the way.
I had not read the previous books in the series, but I certainly am going to be going back to read the rest. This could be read as a stand alone, but I know I will appreciate reading the others. What I enjoyed very much was the strength of family and the characters. I felt for both Orlagh and Maelan. Both had different aspects and ways of life. Both wanted what was best for Orlagh (her grandfather and herself.) The story develops at a quick pace. I enjoyed the input of fae into the novel as well. I found the story full of engagement, and had its own spell on me, I was in suspense many times throughout my reading. I must add the author is fantastic at descriptive writing of the lands and what the characters see, You truly feel your looking through their eyes! Wonderful read, most definitely had its spell over me! I truly felt the heart of it!
Wonderful read that I wish I got to enjoy sooner than later. I will be sure going back to read the other books as well as more by this gifted author! Highly recommend this must read book/series/author!

Rage (Marcy Series Book 1) Audiobook by Linda Burson
Rage is the first book in the Marcy Series (Audiobook) and is a Romance Suspense that will have you glued to you seat as the narrator takes us on quite the ride. This narrator did a wonderful job of bringing the characters to life and keeping my attention. I enjoyed how the different tones made it feel suspenseful and you got the sense of the tension in certain parts. I’ve read this book but I definitely liked the Audiobook better. I got pulled in from the beginning and couldn’t stop listening. At times I found myself holding breath has the tension and suspense built up. This story is about Marcy she’s a independent woman whose live is a bit crazy and she finds herself in situations and each one gets a bit more complicated than the last. I highly recommend listening to this fast paced story to find out what happens next. I look forward to listening to more from this Author.

A Christmas to Remember is a wonderfully written Anthology by several different amazing authors. Each story brings a little different kind of of Christmas magic. This is just what I needed to help get me in the Holiday Spirit .Each story is heartwarming and the characters make the story come to life. I’m a huge fan of Christmas romance and this Anthology definitely checks all the boxes . If your in need of some Holiday Spirit this is just what you need. I’ve read some books by a couple of these authors while the others are new to me I’m definitely going to check out what other books they have written. I highly recommend reading this Anthology as there’s definitely something for everyone to enjoy.
