The beginning is a little slow and dialogue seems a bit disjointed, but as the story unfolds, this book becomes hard to put down. It becomes this fantastical adventure with an original storyline that has the reader invested in not only Hassan’s success in his current predicament, but also in finding his path moving forward. An interesting twist in managing cultural expectations and an exploration in one’s own part in finding or running away from destiny.
Misfortune of Song is the fifth book in the Druid’s Brooch series. It can be read as a standalone. The author has done a superb job of weaving an enchanting story. The characters come alive on the pages and the plot sucks you in. I loved the strength and sassiness of the main character, Orlagh, even though she does show her youth by making some rash decisions. There are many twists and turns to the story and everything may not be as it seems. Misfortune of Song is a great tale of young love, heartbreak, betrayal, magic, and adventure.

Dia’s Lure is a paranormal fantasy romance. It is the third book in a series. I didn’t read the first two books, and while I think I would have understood a few things a bit better, I think it was fine as a stand-alone.
Dia has been on the run for years. She has very few friends and does not stay in one place for too long in an effort to keep hunters from finding her or her family. She struggles to trust others, and this shows in her interactions with a group of people she stumbles across. Add in a person from her past showing up, and things get interesting.
Carver is a very interesting character. He has had to make some hard choices in his life and is willing to bear the consequences. He and Dia have history and chemistry, and when Milos gets added in, things get spicy.
All three characters have chemistry with each other and together. It was interesting to watch how things unfolded. There was an element of ‘fated mates’ even if that wasn’t overtly talked about, as they were all drawn to each other and were quick to succumb to it.
While the main plot of this story was told, I want to know more about some of the side characters and what else happens for the swans. I look forward to reading more in this world.
I absolutely loved Jim and Juliet! Jim’s inability to take anything seriously was one of my favourite aspects of the story. Juliet’s love for literature and the way it brought them together was absolutely perfect. Their chemistry was off the charts right from the get-go, and it was absolutely wonderful. I loved Juliet’s caring heart, and Jim’s goofy, yet cautious ways when it came to Charles, and the issues that brought upon her. Jim is forever caring, and wonderful toward everyone he meets, even when he’s unsure about them. I loved their banter of different play quotes and the way that it was continued throughout the story. Juliet’s ability to pull quotes from different plays at any given moment is absolutely bananas! Her brain is like a wealth of literary knowledge and I loved every second of it.

I really enjoyed this military romance, which kept me happily turning the pages. Pippa has left her abusive ex husband and knows that as long as he’s behind bars she safe. Having indulged in a very passionate one night stand with a handsome stranger, she ends up pregnant. As they met at a masquerade party and didn’t exchange names, there is no way Pippa can let the man know that he’s going to be a father. Pippa now fears that once her ex husband is released, if he finds out she has a son with another man that he will want revenge. Meanwhile, the masked gladiator, Tanner “Diesel” Taylor is a SEAL and takes his responsibilities seriously, he never imagined that his amazing one night stand with a woodland fairy would have consequences. However, when he learns two years later that he has a son, Bryce, with Pippa he wants to meet his son straight away. Unfortunately, Tanner arrives to late and both Pippa and Bryce have been abducted by her violent ex husband, having been released from prison. Luckily, Deisel is armed with his vast SEAL skills and training and is determined to get his son and Pippa back safely. Pippa is trapped with her angry and enraged ex husband, and not knowing that help is on the way she is desperately trying to keep herself and her son safe. This was a fast paced story with an exciting storyline and plenty of plot twists that kept me hooked. I loved the characters and the chemistry between Pippa and Tanner really came across in the narrative. A great read and I look forward to future books in this series.

This is an author that I have loved reading from the first book I picked up. I never hesitate to pick up her books. They are well written, engaging and hard to put down. This book is no different. It is a fast paced, well written story about a female motorcycle club. Ellington is looking for a new start and she has a past that comes to the present. I enjoyed their chemistry and their growth throughout. They pull you into their story from the start. They are connectable and I had no problem picturing myself in their environment. This is a great story that I loved reading. It has just a little bit of everything in it which makes it easy to read and entertaining. You don’t want to miss this book. I highly recommend this book and this author.

This is the fifth book in this series, it is just as enjoyable as the previous books in this series. In this book, Maelan is faced with making a choice with his granddaughter, Orlargh. What will happen when she falls for Timurir? Will she rebell and what are the bargains Orlargh must make to save her? These are great characters that keep the story engaging and come to life for me. I also enjoy the Fae, they are creative and bring twists to the story. I highly recommend this book.

This is truly a fascinating fantasy book. It is a historical one at that. Maelan is just trying to do what he feels is right. He’s so conflicted. You feel his pain and discomfort through the story as he tries to protect his granddaughter. The writing of this story is phenomenal. Don’t fret, the author gives a bit of a dictionary to help with the Irish words, so you shouldn’t get to lost. The descriptions of the people and the lands totally make you feel like you are there. I came in at this, book 5 of the series. I do plan to go back and start with the first book because there is a brooch involved and I feel a little lost because I don’t know the history of how it got back through time. I can really tell the author did her research because things are just so laid out. The plot line comes back together when it takes a twist or turn. An amazing book that I definitely recommend for fantasy or historical readers, or both.

The Rom Com Movie Club is the first book in The Rom Com Movie Club series. Lisa and her friends have had their Rom Com Movie nights since their younger days, and now in their 30s, they want to meet their romantic matches. Lisa had a rough childhood and finds it hard to trust anyone. Ryan has moved back home and has been burned in the romance department. I really enjoyed this fun read. The story is lighthearted and filled with romantic tension. I enjoyed the characters, and the friendship Lisa and her friends shared. I also enjoyed the relationship that grew between Lisa and Ryan. The story was true to the rom com title. I look forward to seeing who is featured in the next book in the series.

This is another winner in the MC books this author writes. I am a big fan of her Grimm Wolves series. Tink and her club were introduced in the last book. Tink is both vulnerable and strong. Shadow just has some serious issues but Is loyal to Tink and her family. The two of them make a good pair. We see new friends and some old friends pop up in this book. There is lots of drama, mystery/suspense, romance, and a bit of violence. Hey, it is an MC book. This is one of two of my favorite MC authors. She has a way of writing that grabs you in, sits you down, and says “don’t move until you finish this book.” Intensely entertaining, a little troubling, steamy romance and you have the best book you just might find this year in the romance genre. I can’t wait to read more.

This book is not one I would have originally chosen to read, but the narrative peaked my interest as did the book the entire way through. It starts during a stent in Vietnamese years ago, where Rex did a wrong doing and leaves Don getting the punishment for it. Rex goes back to the States, not knowing what transpired after he left until years later when Don and his family had relocated to Mississippi. Don held a grudge for years and wanted to speak with Rex about it, but never gets the chance before his death. Rex finds out after Don’s death what transpired years ago, which brings them to the current day. However, Don’s death was thought to be a murder, but was it? Rex’s sons are being blamed for Don’s death. Don’s daughter, Anh, finds a journal that her dad had written in years ago that explains everything that happened. It’s a great story of how we cannot assume we know what other’s have gone through in life as everyone has a past. I highly recommend this book to readers!

This is the story of Emily and Ruby. Two best friends who definitely have ideas that aren’t always the best. Emily tries her best in everything but somehow always falls short when compared to her friend Ruby. Ruby is madly in love and about to get married… until she is left at the altar. Emily, as all best friends would, comes up with a brilliant plan to help Ruby. They’re going to go on Ruby’s honeymoon together. I mean, really, isn’t that what every best friend would do? However, their plan hits a small problem when they discover that the cruise is for couples only! They decide to get creative and pretend to be a couple. There’s absolutely no way that this plan can go wrong, right? I mean best friends are close to being a couple. When one of them falls madly in love with the ship’s photographer their plan begins to go awry. Will their trip be ruined if someone has a tryst? Will they be sent with their bags packing because they aren’t a couple. Can they continue to have the trip they meant to when this happens? Will thier friendship falter? I LOVE this book! The adventures that the girls have are wonderful and I definitely was left wanting more. I only hope that someday I have a friend like Emily. She definitely means well and I could relate to her so much! This was such a fun and easy red. I definitely want to read more of their adventures. This was the perfect weekend read that made me wanting a trip to the Carribean ASAP!
5 Stars Petty’s Crime (Satan’s Devils MC Las Vegas Book 3) by Manda Mellett
Petty’s Crime is the third book in the Satan’s Devils MC Las Vegas Series and is a wonderfully written MC Romance. This author never ceases to amaze me with her amazing characters and the storyline just flows. Her characters are real, relatable and fully developed. Each one brings the story to life in a different way. Each book I read I say is my favorite but Petty’s is at the top of that list . I wasn’t sure going in what to expect from Petty as from previous books I didn’t want to like him. He was kinda a standoffish . It all makes sense now why he acts the way he does. Petty was taught from a very young age to never lay a hand on a woman(girl) no matter what and his job was to protect them . What happens when he receives a phone call from his past? Petty is part of the Las Vegas chapter of the Satan’s Devils and his current job has him on security for RoseLyn whose ex is been sending not nice notes . These two have similar stories but can he open up to her. His brother’s don’t even know his whole past. Who will stand by his side when his brother’s abandon him? I don’t want to give to much away. I highly recommend reading this book to find out what happens next. This was way more emotional than I had expected but man what a ride. I as always look forward to reading more from this Author.

Katarina’s past has always been the driving force to her life, scarred by her mother and driven within her career she has never really enjoyed life, until she meets the dark and mysterious Chase Prestian. With his relentless nature to make her his and the chemistry between them sparks will fly but can Katarina open her dark desires to him.
Chase has it all money, success, and a revolving door of woman but none has piqued his interest like Katarina, with the chemistry and the willing to show her the dark side of life will she be as open to a relationship with him once he shows her his other side.
This book is full of action and steamy scenes, I am always drawn to a Alpha male and Chase is more than that. The action within this book is full of intrigue and suspense, with the characters each having their own flaws and problems to overcome. I love the interactions between the two main characters and the way Katarina discovers this about herself personally along the way.
Although the book has a vibe of the Sub/Dom relationship this is done in a way to enhance the characters relationships and provides and interesting look into both. I loved the strong character of Katarina and although she shows her submissive side to Chase there is always a sass to her character and style. Overall, this is a brilliant start to the series and can’t wait to read more and discover more of this world.

This is my first time reading from this author and I was thoroughly impressed by the twists and turns of Nico’s path in life. Though I did not read book one, I could understand the amount of damage that Nico had done prior to this book. I’m always taken aback by a deep story line that continues to build and build. The author uses this book to try and explain the devilish nature of Nico, and appeal to the empathetic side of us. I was definitely on a complete roller coaster ride witnessing Nico return home and relive his treacherous past! There were so many times during this story that I felt pained by his circumstances, yet it was also completely exhausting. This was an exceptional read!

This book is book one of the series. It’s the first book I’ve read by this author but it was good! I was sucked in and couldn’t put it down.
Pippa has moved across the country to escape the disaster that was her abusive marriage. When she gets word that her ex is in jail for assault, she couldn’t be happier. She’s free! She lets her friend talk her into a Halloween costume party. Pippa is feeling brave and takes a chance with Tanner. Tanner is working on getting over his on again off again relationship. Pippa (as a woodland fairy) may be just what he needs. Of course Pippa and Tanner leave the party knowing nothing about each other and that will backfire in a big way. Lots happens after the Halloween party. You definitely need to give it a read to find out.
This was a quick read but so much happens! You get sucked in and can’t wait to see how it will all play out!

When I read the description of this book I knew I had to pick it up, because the descriptions of Emily and her bff reminded me so much of myself and my bff. I could seriously see myself trying to talk my bff into something just like this in order to have fun, distract her, and help her through her heartache. This is a fun Romantic Comedy that holds plenty of humor, some love, a smidgen of revenge, and a quirky fake relationship. The author did a phenomenal job writing these characters who are funny, loveable, and just people I wanted to read about.
What do u get when u mix one loud friend, with a heart the size of Texas and one friend who seems to have her life in order and everything going for her? You guessed it, you get one exciting, humorous, wild ride… I mean cruise. Do yourself a favor and pick this fun, fast read up I guarantee you won’t be sorry you did.

The Perfect Mrs. Claus by Barbara Matteson is a charming and delightful holiday story with all the feelgood ingredients we love about Christmas stories. Savanah has been feeling lost and alone since her husband death. Her son has moved to the other side of the world for work, which means that Savanah is looking at being alone for Christmas. But a spur of the moment visit to one of her favourite stores results in a tempting proposal, which changes everything. These characters were so endearing, so easy to like- I found myself quickly investing in them and the outcome of their sweet story. Sprinkled with emotion and a little humour, this Christmas romance will warm your heart….. and is a great way to kick-off this holiday season. Looking forward to more from Ms. Matteson… Happy Reading…

4.5/5 Stars This is the second book in this series and it’s just as good! This book picks right up where book one left off which I enjoyed. There wasn’t any time passing or anything that put space between book one and this one. Because I read book one, I wasn’t lost at all but new readers might be. This book is just as well written and entertaining. The only thing is Chloe & Quintus’ romance isn’t dealt with as much as I would like. Other than that, this book is so good and I can’t wait for book 3.

I’m always on the lookout for books by Ms. Valkyrie. The author has original characters in her books and I’m always surprised by how relatable they are. This paranormal romance is a short story but fun to read and easily read in a day. I really enjoyed the premise that every ten years the gods let one person who was wrongfully killed back to the real world to find a mate within 3 days. What a challenge when Quinnlan Comes back to life in a small town.
I will always recommend Ms. Valkyrie’s books to fans of paranormal stories. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did.

Cute, cute, cute. Classical cozy mystery with gnomes, leprechauns, werewolves, and an investigative reporter trying to solve the mystery of the missing gnomes. Not my typical read, but about six or seven chapters in I was hooked. I see that it is the first book in a series to come, and I think the characters will develop more throughout the series. To me this is a great start to a lovely series in a quirky little mystical town.
This book was the first book to this new series. The book was a little slow paced but based on being the first book it’s a great installment. The plot was built to the point that I will be looking for the next book in here. It was amazingly written that you could almost feel like you were in the room with everyone. Miranda is a teenager that she all of a sudden had magical powers. She felt like her family wouldn’t like it or except the fact that she had these powers, so she ran away. Finding out that more girls just like her, Miranda starts to wonder what is going on and if she will be next. This was a great first book to the series and honestly can’t wait for the next one, I really want to know what was going to happen.

This was a good 4 star read. I enjoyed this because it involves an older couple who find love when they least expect it. Juliet is a teacher and when Jim joins her class there is instant attraction. The class assignment is to read Romeo and Juliet, which gives Jim inspiration. I love Romeo and Juliet so I loved the quotes. There is so much that goes on in this read. This was a really good book! It was colorful, the illustrations were wonderful, it had a great story and lesson about fairness inside, and it was also very enthralling! I really enjoyed reading this one. And if you continue the whole way through, you may also find a small science lesson at the end. I can’t wait to read it to my daughter when she gets older!
I know I have said it so many times before but I will keep saying it, over and over again….. this talented author knows how to write an amazing Historical Mystery like no one else!! She truly deserves continued praise and recognition for her creative storylines. Again I know I have said it before but the captivating writing talent of this author easily transports the reader back in time so much so that you really feel as though you can see everything around you and all that is happening. Just this alone should make you want to read this fantastic book but here is a very quick snap shot of the storyline. The wonderful Lottie, who works as a legal clerk, becomes very involved a case concerning a police officer and soon finds the 2 parts of her life colliding when a blackmail scheme rears its ugly head! Now you know you want to read about that and find out what happens right? Do yourself a huge favour and get reading!!

Petty’s Crime: Satan-s Devils MC Las Vegas #3 (Satan’s Devils MC Las Vegas Chapter)
I have been a fan of this author and series for quite some time now. She has no problems writing about some uncomfortable subjects and doing it well and bringing some much needed attention which she did here. I won’t lie there were times it was difficult for me to read but it was worth it.
Petty hasn’t been likable in any of the previous books he has made an appearance in and we find out why. He probably went too far with it but as we get to know him better it all makes sense.
RoseLyn has enough to deal with her stalker but to have to deal with Petty and his grumpy self is additional stress she really doesn’t need or want no matter how easy on the eyes he is. We are still getting to know the Vegas guys and so far so good. This is a great book and one if my favorite series. As always I’m waiting impatiently to see which Devil falls next.

This was a quick and adorable story about second chances, full of action, and romance. Quinnlan has been chosen for a second chance at life, but with just 3 days, in a small town, his options are limited, and the opportunity for happily ever after is slim. Despite the shortness of the tale, the pacing was well set and the action well written. The heat between Quinnlan and Garrett is smoldering right from the start and just continues to get hotter. If you love paranormal stories with fast action and romance, this is a great story for you!
