Killmore (Killmore #1)
By Martha Sweeney
Rated 5 stars

Holy Smokes! Talk about starting off with a bang! Wowzer! Laurie is sarcastic, tough and has a take no prisoners attitude. She is angry hurt and unable to move forward from what happened in her past. Plus the trust issues??? I don’t blame her for being slow to trust anyone. Now with that being said I LOVE how strong she is!!! She kicks a$$ and doesn’t apologize. She has built herself up to be someone no one wants to mess with. Love her!

The overall theme of half the story was the male lead teasing, cajoling and doing everything possible to get in the female leads pants and she was always pushing him away. I felt a little of that was fine but it seemed a bit over the top. Almost like her last relationship. Anyway we are in deep with their relationship as the story moves forward with the reason he was there to begin with. About 3/4 of the book had gone by before action picks back up. Then there is a bit of suspense and action, action and more.

This is an impressive book and I enjoy Martha Sweeney’s writing. The characters are wonderful and I look forward to see what happens next.

This author is a new author to me and I was blown away by how well she creates such an interesting and intense story. The writing helps paint a clear picture of what is happening and be characters, it is easy to imagine everything that is happening.
The more I read of this book the more I wanted to read, the more I couldn’t wait to find out what was going to happen. This is a brilliant book and one I thoroughly enjoyed. I cannot wait to dive into book two.

Mouse Trapped Satan’s Devils MC
By: Manda Mellett
5 out of 5 stars

The story Mouse Trapped Satan’s Devils MC by Manda Mellett is a book that I loved reading. I have read several in this series and they all have been amazing. The story hooks you in from the very beginning and doesn’t let you go until the end. There are page-turning moments that will have you wondering what is going to happen next and what is going to happen to the characters. I loved reading about the characters of Mouse and Mariana. Mouse is a member of the Satan’s Devils. He joined for a sense of belonging and they are like his family. He is the go-to guy for computers. There is a code in Satan’s Devils that they all live by. That code comes into play when he meets and helps Mariana. Mariana is a woman that has a secret. It is one that keeps her towing the line and staying under the radar. When her life is turned upside down Mouse is there to help her. Since they met she has thought of him. He keeps away at first, then he receives a call. Can Mouse help Mariana when she needs it the most or will outside forces pull them apart? There is a connection between Mouse and Mariana. Will they find happiness together? Read this book to find out. The author does a wonderful job with making you feel all of the emotions that Mariana does. She shows herself to be a strong woman who faces situations that anyone would find stressful and hard to deal with. Mouse and Mariana are characters that I grew to love with each chapter that I read. Their journey is one filled with danger with the end goal of a future together. Will they get it? I also enjoyed the other characters that interact and assist Mouse and Mariana. Many of them have been brought forward from other books and there are familiar names included in the book. This is an amazingly wonderful story that I would give more than 5 stars if I could. Highly recommended.

The Nearness of You by K.G. Fletcher – Review by Erica Fish

The Nearness of YouThe Nearness of You by K.G. Fletcher
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

The Nearness of You by K.G. Fletcher is a beautiful story. I have read several books by KG Fletcher and with every one of the stories I am loving her more and more. Her writing style is fresh as well as challenging the characters in her books. This particular story takes a lounge singer who has a chance encounter with a British male super model. David, the model, just happens to be at the hotel for his sister’s nuptials and asks Lauren Rose to the ceremony. From that moment shaped the story. It takes you through the trials and tribulations. It is a well thought out story. I really enjoyed this story.

5 out of 5 stars

The story Killmore by Martha Sweeney is a romantic suspense book. It is a story that I loved reading. It has me hooked from the very beginning and I didn’t want to put it down until I had finished the last page. I loved reading about the female main character. She is a beautiful and strong woman. She is also sarcastic and snarky. She has to be protected by the Feds as she knows the business dealings of Antonio Herrera. It includes both drugs and human trafficking. They should be keeping her safe. She is not one that always trusts what others say. Will she be able to keep those she now lives among and cares for safe? What will happen when she meets the one person who challenges her at every turn? How much danger is she truly in? Read this book to find out what happens. I enjoyed the bantering that goes on between the main characters and also the secondary characters that you are introduced to. The interactions sometimes had me with a smile on my face and laughing out loud. There are some steamy scenes included in this story that will have the temperature in the room rising. The book does have its page-turning moments and times when I was on the edge of my seat wondering what was going to happen next. The story has enough detail that I felt like I was right there with the characters going through what they did. This is a wonderfully written story that you don’t want to miss out on. It is a book I would highly recommend reading.

The Nearness of You is a fantastic romance read by K.G. Fletcher. It’s a love story that took me on an emotional roller coaster ride of emotions. From the very first chapter I was captivated by Lauren and David, their chemistry was simply undeniable which held my attention the whole way through.

I really appreciated all of the detail that this author used, from past moments and feelings, surroundings and emotions it was all there making the story flow seamlessly. This is a book I know I’ll be reading again and for that reason I would recommend it to anyone looking for their next romance read.

I look forward to reading more from this author in the future!

Our Unexpected Hope By Michelle Sullivan – Review by Emily Brockschmidt

Our Unexpected HopeOur Unexpected Hope by Michelle Sullivan
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

WOW!! What a whirlwind! I picked up “Our Unexpected Hope” today and couldn’t put it down until I was done! Quinn is in her early twenties and helps her dad run their photography company. She has never had a real relationship, but knows exactly what she wants in life after seeing her how in love her parents are. Noah is the head chef of a restaurant that Quinn frequents and has gazed from afar until she comes in for a photo shoot and he changes their lives forever. Their whirlwind romance is a beautiful read. The time together might be short, but the time spent is quality time. I can’t give away any details, but these two really get put through it! I nearly cried about four times, and I NEVER cry when I read! If you want a sweet but serious romance, this is the book for you! Just have the tissues ready! I really loved the journey these two went on to get to the end, again no details, but it’s very fitting. I give Michelle Sullivan’s “Our Unexpected Hope” five teary eyed stars!

The Fifth Knight (The Knights of Caerleon series Book 1) by Claire Luana & Jesikah Sundin – Review by Emma Haverstock

The Fifth Knight (The Knights of Caerleon #1)The Fifth Knight by Jesikah Sundin
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Strong female character in an Arthurian tale? Sign me up.
Fionna is a fierce and talented warrior who is the key to breaking the fae curse that Arthur and his Knights are up against. I was hooked from start to finish. I have always enjoyed Arthurian legends and this is my first RH novel so it was pretty interesting to add to the mix of what I’ve already consumed in terms of Arthurian literature.
The story is told from several different POV characters, which I’ve always thought helps to flesh out characters. I also like that although Fionna is a strong willed character, she doesn’t have that irritating trope of getting in over her head to prove herself and then needing to be rescued like any old damsel in distress. It was kind of annoying that everyone seemed to fall in love with her like they’d never seen a woman before but I guess it fits in with the timeline/history/ story that the whole thing is based around. Can’t wait for the next book!

Romance in Rehoboth Boxed Set (Books 1-3) by K.L. Montgomery – Review by Heather Bahm

Romance in Rehoboth Boxed Set (Books 1-3)Romance in Rehoboth Boxed Set by K.L. Montgomery
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

K.L. Montgomery’s Romance in Rehoboth Boxed Set (Books 1-3) includes Fat Girl, The Flip and Plot Twist. I’ve read of the books within this set and each was thoroughly enjoyable – highly recommend. Here’s a summary of my thoughts of each of these books in this boxed set.

Fat Girl
Fat Girl, by K.L. Montgomery, is Claire Sterling’s story. She is almost 40, divorcing her husband, moving back home, and veering back into the dating scene via online. However, she fears that she will always be a fat girl.

Most of us can relate to this story in some shape or form. We have all looked in the mirror at one point and seen ourselves as others do, some piece of disappointment in ourselves. A failed marriage with a cheating ex-husband and now being a single mom venturing back into dating trying for a new relationship. Insecurities abound and trying to find a way to respect herself and love herself inside and out.

K.L. Montgomery touches on real life issues. It is in your face, right there in front of you, in black and white on the pages. Claire’s character definitely has many roadblocks in her life that she has to knock down, move around or avoid. She’s courageous to move into dating at a later age and the unknowns of whether a person is truthful or hiding something. There were many times in the midst of reading this story that I wanted to sit right next to Claire and ask her what would you tell me… and then, don’t you think you should do the same for yourself?

Fat Girl offers several laughable moments. If you aren’t quite sure on your next book to read, I would recommend this book as everyone should be able to relate to some piece or part of this story.

The Flip
The Flip, by K.L. Montgomery, is the second book in the Romance in Rehoboth series. This romantic comedy features Andrew and Sonnet with their relationship shifts from that of high school dynamics of dislike to something that changes in a way neither of them anticipated.

The characters are well developed and I felt that their chemistry flowed smoothly and was not forced. I honestly enjoyed their antics in the story. This author does a good job in their writing for this series/story. I did previously read Fat Girl, the first book of the series. The Flip was as good as the previous book and I loved the characters of Andrew and Sonnet. K.L. Montgomery is great at romantic comedies and kept me on my toes and laughing through this novel. The story was addictive and a true page turner.

Plot Twist
K.L. Montgomery’s Plot Twist is the third novel in the Romance in Rehoboth series. The author overlaps several characters that appeared previously in the series in subsequent books as supporting cast members. I enjoyed how these characters overlapped between books. Within Plot Twist, the main cast includes Meric and Lindy; this romantic comedy has all the major elements, to have you laughing to wiping stray tears, to wondering what in the heck that last conversation was?! The build up in this story was well paced and created allure and intrigue into possibly where the author was planning to take these main characters and when they would peak and/or plummet. The story was fun, inspirational, and everything in between.

The Nearness of You by K.G. Fletcher – Review by Lisa Boltiador

The Nearness of YouThe Nearness of You by K.G. Fletcher
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

The Nearness of You is fast paced, David and Lauren feeling the L word right away, even if they wait to say it. They are magnetically drawn to each other from the first night, him inviting her to a family wedding the next day! Of COURSE dating a famous person isn’t easy and there are obstacles. The last of which is his busy schedule. His assistant was a heartless evil gremlin of a woman, who I wished many bad things upon throughout the story. Things get pretty emotional in my opinion, but it all works out with a happy ending. I was entertained and pulled in by these two lovebirds.

Small Town Hero (Small Town Brides, #1)Small Town Hero by Kim Koby
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Small Town Hero is a sweet, whirlwind romance. Ryan seems mostly down to earth, sincere, and sweet. I do feel he’s a bit impulsive, jumping into things the way he does in this story. Rebecca has just gotten blindsided and lost everything that defines her in this moment. Even though it’s for the better and her personality even shines brighter after it all, I kind of wish she wasn’t so fast to jump in both feet with Ryan. It’s like running from one relationship to jump into another fully formed, super serious commitment. But these two do fall hard and fast and it’s worth it all in the end, which sneaks up on you.

Must Love Fashion (Darling Cove Book 1) by Deborah Garland – Review by Tracy Wilkin

Must Love Fashion (Darling Cove #1)Must Love Fashion by Deborah Garland

Must Love Fashion is book one in the Darling Cove series by Deborah Garland. This is my first time reading this author’s work, so I was keen to get started. It is always such a delight to find a talented author to disappear into, and I hit the jackpot with this author.

Gwen and Andrew clash horns over their public relations duties and the tension, attraction and competition runs rampant between them. In the fast paced Fashion house where they work together, there is a myriad of dramatic elements that both captivate and entertain. This story offers so many thrills, spills and pandemonium. It also pulled the heartstrings. Must Love Fashion has a little of everything that will appeal to every taste in literary genius. 5 stars

Small Town Hero
Kim Koby
4 out of 5 stars

Small Town Hero is my first experience with Kim Koby’s writing and it also happens to be Small Town Bride book one. I wasn’t sure entirely what to expect with this book but overall I found that I enjoyed it. I was drawn to the storyline fairly quickly, I liked how the book started with a lot of emotion and kicked off right away. While the book wasn’t slow to kick off, I did feel like it took quite some time for me to connect with Rebecca. If I’m
being honest I am still not entirely sure how I feel about her character.
As far as characters go, I did really love Ryan from the start and despite my feelings toward Rebecca, the chemistry between the two in this story was really sweet and undeniable.
Small Town Hero was short and fast paced and honestly kept me on my toes emotionally. I liked that the obstacles Ryan and Rebecca faced were realistic and relatable, really showing that “Trust was vital when it came to love.”
I would recommend Small Town Hero to anyone that enjoys short, clean romances and after the way Kim Koby ended this book I am looking forward to reading more in the series. This doesn’t have a cliffhanger ending, Kim Koby just sets us up well for who will be the next to share their
story.

Redemption (An Ash Park Novel – Book 5) By Meghan O’Flynn – Review By Melissa Agena

Redemption (Ash Park, #5)Redemption by Meghan O’Flynn
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

WOW! What a way to end a series! Redemption is Book 5 in the Ash Park Series by Meghan O’Flynn. I wasn’t sure what to expect from this book seeing as though the last one left you a little worried. Detective Ed Petrosky has lost his partner and the son he never had. Now that Shannon is moving on with the kids, what does he do? That is the constant question that keeps remaining throughout the entire book. However, in true Meghan O’Flynn style, she has a twist for us. A new partner for Petrosky! And this one is a loop that you did not see coming! I’m not going to go in detail because I want you to be surprised but let’s just say Petrosky is way out of his league on this one! But you will definitely love it! I know I did. I absolutely loved this book as well as I did the others! I would definitely read this series in order because it ends up being one ongoing story. This author has really impressed me with her writing style and raw nature that you do not tend to see very often! I’m glad this series has come to my attention and I truly cannot wait to read more from her! It isn’t easy writing murder mystery and to do it so well and to be able to keep one’s attention through 5 books is amazing! Well done Ms. O’Flynn! You have done this series and this genre proud!

The Fifth Knight (The Knights of Caerleon #1) by Jesikah Sundin & Claire Luana – Review by Cynthia Ayala

The Fifth Knight (The Knights of Caerleon #1)The Fifth Knight by Jesikah Sundin
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Incredible. Fans of the Legend of King Arthur will surely appreciate this novel and the complexities of it. What’s also great about this novel is the characterization. Fionna is unstoppable and incredible, and such a strong female character, very different from the usual damsels in distress that are common in Arthurian retellings. However, her story goes beyond just representing a strong female character; it also goes to the twist in the narrative surrounding Gwenevere. It’s an interesting set-up and plot twist for the story and sets up great tension in the story as it unfolds. Readers know the eventual outcome, anyone who knows about Arthur, Lancelot and Gwenevere see the result, but the journey there, the twist to that ending makes it captivating because there are so many avenues this story and plot twist could take, making it unpredictable.

Nevertheless, the story is about more than Fionna; it’s about the Arthurian legend and how it comes to life.

Sundin and Luana knew what they were doing when they decided to make this story a reverse harem. It’s a new genre that is gaining more and more traction as of late because its concept is to have one female character and have multiple men fall in love with her. Now, there are many ways this genre can be taken, in some ways, depending on the writer, it’s clear that the goal is to create something more erotic, lacking focus on storytelling. But then you have some incredible works that develop the genre and ground it, focusing on the story and character building. This is one of those novels. The romance doesn’t overwhelm the novel; it works to create tension and build the foundation of the story. The emotion in the story, the overwhelming sense of desire and love, the different analogies like “someone smelling like home,” they all work in tandem with one another to make sure the depth keeps the romance from falling into something cheesy or dated.

I’ll say this, I’ve never read a reverse harem novel, to be honest, didn’t think it would be my cup of tea, but like with any story, as long as it has powerful writing behind it and grounded storytelling, any genre can be anyone’s cup of tea. This novel is proof of that.

Love, Christmas - Movies You Love (The Holiday Series Book 2)Love, Christmas – Movies You Love by Mimi Barbour
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Love, Christmas – Movies You Love (The Holiday Series Book 2 is an amazing collection of short stories by various authors including Tamara Ferguson, Suzanne Jenkins and Natalie Ann. I enjoyed each of the the stories I read but decided to spotlight a few by authors that are new to me.

A Royal White Christmas by Leanne Banks

Holly’s life is already in chaos, she is helping run her brothers farm. She meets the handsome stranger thanks to Brandi the Beagle.

I’m a sucker for any story that features a dog, but I’m partial to dogs that remind me of dogs I know and Brandi reminded me of my sister in laws dog Westley. Always getting into some and escaping. Very sweet ending.

Miracle on Christmas Tree Street by Alicia Street

Hannah and her daughter Abbie are starting a new life by running her Aunt’s Bed and Breakfast. After she gets there she finds all sorts of unusual little things happening all of which lead to a Christmas miracle and a happy ending.

The Holiday (Christmas) by Nancy Radke

Jodie is spending the holidays in one of the most beautiful places I have had the pleasure of going to, Hawaii. She is trying to escape a lot but has no clue what she’s going to find when she gets there.

This was another great story with a happy ending.

If you’re looking for great short stories to start getting you into the Christmas spirit then I would suggest you start reading now.

Sailors Knot (Eastern Shore Swingers Book 4)Sailors Knot by Phoebe Alexander
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Sailors Knot is the fourth book in the Eastern Shore Swingers series by Phoebe Alexander and so far my favorite. I loved learning about Casey’s life long before the club came about.

Casey is one of those characters that I would like to be like is a lot of ways. She’s beyond confident and comfortable with who she is as a whole. If I had an eighth of her confidence I would be a happy woman.

The flash backs to the time when Casey was her happiest were some of the hottest scenes I can recall reading ever. I also loved reading about Leah and Paisley and getting caught up with them.

Ms. Alexander is on to something with this series and hope she doesn’t plan on ending it any time soon.

This is the first book that I have read by this author. When I first started reading it I thought I would have a hard time getting into it but before I knew it, I was already half way through the book. Love, Christmas - Movies You Love (The Holiday Series Book 2)Love, Christmas – Movies You Love by Mimi Barbour
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Love, Christmas – Movies you love was a great 5 star read.
I loved this book and the 26 stories within the pages.

These are all new romance stories from so many great authors. Some were new authors for me and there were favorites as well. I love the twist on holiday movies with these stories, my emotions were all over the place with each of them. You can take your time and read a story here and there or sit and read them all at once. They range from second chance romance to historical romance and so much more.

A Wonderful life was an emotional read for me. Noel is about to make a drastic decision, he has too many people that will be impacted by his choice and his guardian angel couldn’t let him follow through with it. Than he meets Mary and things change for him. He was saved to help Mary and protect her. Will they get a HEA?

I was a mess reading Finding Love. When Lucy goes to her father’s cabin for Christmas. Lucy lost her father to a plane crash and being at the cabin makes her feel close to him. Then she meets Maverick the next door neighbor. Maverick feels like he’s known Lucy from all the stories her father shared with him. These two end up having sparks between them and develop some feelings. Will they have a HEA?

A Christmas Getaway pulled me right in and brought me to tears once again. Ryder goes on a ski trip to sulk in booze and get away. When he gets to the cabin he discovers it was double booked to Olivia and her son. He wasn’t happy about the situation. We learn as we move forward some of Ryder’s history, have the kleenex ready.

There are so many more great stories and I highly recommend you 1-click and get reading. I look forward to reading more from all of these authors. What a great way to get in the holiday mood.

Eternal Bloom Book 2
By A.E. Gamrat
Eternal Bloom is book two in this wonderful series. Like with most good series book two picked up perfectly from book one. So now we have Gwen making her way in life since she has finished college, you will find in this transition it will cover everything from what being an adult is to love, family and what she is looking at career wise. In book two you will find that you can still easily connect with Gwen, you might even get to like her mum a little bit. What I really liked about these two books is the friendship between Lena and Gwen, I really like the way that throughout all their friendship stayed strong, seemed real and it may have you feeling that you can feel the love these two girls seem to have for each other. Nothing better than being close to characters in a book. Makes the storyline so much more. You will love these two books but remember to read them in order.

Love, Christmas – Movies You Love (The Holiday Series Book 2) Anthology – Review by Shannon Fowler

Love, Christmas - Movies You Love (The Holiday Series Book 2)Love, Christmas – Movies You Love by Mimi Barbour
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Love, Christmas is a mix of 26 magical stories, that happen to revolve around Christmas time. Each story is well written with characters just wanting a little Christmas love.

Tamara Ferguson has captured my heart with Two Hearts Home for Christmas. This story is part of her Two Hearts Wounded Warrior series. It is book 9. This story is about Nancy and John, who find each other when they are just seniors in high school. Each planned to enlist in the military. Of course, they couldn’t enlist in the same branch, that would be too easy and not what the Two Hearts Wounded Warrior series is all about. After several years apart Nancy and John are hoping to find each other again. They must meet back at DragonFly Pointe in hopes that a little Christmas magic has kept their love alive.

Can She Get Home for Christmas? is written by Rebecca York. This is my first story by York and I can not wait to read more. She too captured my heart with her story of Samantha and Jax. Jax is keeping secrets and I hope Sam can handle them when she finds out. They certainly have a little mystery unfolding in their lives. I look forward to reading about what happens to them because this story is not finished!

Each story brings you something different but just like the movies they are written like, you get an enjoyable story with new characters and adventures. I suggest you get this anthology as it is full of stories that will touch your heart.

New Bloom Book 1
By AE Gamrat

New Bloom is book one in this series which consists of two books by AE Gamrat. Having read both books it is highly recommended that they are read in order, reason being you really do need to have a background of the storyline. There is nothing about these books that I didn’t like, both books are so easy to follow, they flow perfectly. There are a lot of emotions everything from friendship to pain and anger. I felt that Gwen couldn’t have told her life story any better than she did, there are also awesome secondary characters which I feel held their own in the story. Gwen is a college graduate and like all graduates her life will enter a new phase, some parts of her new life will not be what she saw it to be. I found Gwen’s mother to be quite horrible and I am glad she had her friend Lena to lean on.
