Master Oradea is the tenth book in the Masters of the Consulate Series. Hot Dang I didn’t think this series could get any better but dang was I wrong. This is a series that I’ve truly enjoyed reading since the first book. This can be read as standalones but I’d highly recommend reading this series in order. They are each about a different couple and man it’s a stellar series. There’s a lot going on and each one kinda builds off the last. Characters overlap and it’s definitely worth the time. It’s on my top 3 reread list. This is another wonderfully written Dark Paranormal Romance that once you start reading there’s no stopping until you’ve finished. I literally read this in one afternoon because I simply couldn’t put it down. This is Master Oradea and Natalia’s story. This is a fast paced story with twists and turns that will have you turning the pages trying to figure out what is going to happen next. I don’t want to give anything away.i highly recommend reading this book to find out what happens next. I’m looking forward to reading the next book in this series

This story thrilled me! It has action, suspense and young romance. I liked the subject matter since I have not read much about them. We actually get to see/hear and feel their thoughts and emotions pertaining to “singing and the sea”. Corisande is ever curious about herself, the curse and normal people. She is good at heart even though she carries the curse. I did not read book 1 in the series and had no problem following along. So can easily be read as a stand along.

I could really use more of Ducky and Kobreon. I could tell he had a feeling about Ducky after all the time he spent with her in her Duck form. His mom Trisha, she’s a sneaky one, she seemed to want to hook them up once everything died down with the human kingdom. This book has a super interesting story and cast of characters, I hope so see more from these characters in the future. This world they live in, and the supernatural that exist are odd, but they work and I am really into it.
Master Oradea is on a mission to locate the rogue vampire who is trying to uncover the secrets of the consulate but on his travels the pureblood vampire gets caught up with a fiery character who intrigues him but also, he needs to protect her, but he realised she does not need defending too much. So, as they are weaving through the crossfire something is discovered and if this secret of the stones they must try and keep this away from the rogue elements, but the battle lines are drawn, and The Consulate are ready for the battle.
This is the tenth book in this series and as always follows another Master in the Consulate, this adds the next instalment to the series and drives the story deeper into trying to uncover the rogue elements. These books can be read separately but there is a arch story which weaves through each book, and I recommended reading them in order.
I can’t wait for the next instalment in this series.

Book four in the Life Is Hell series. I am very disappointed… that this series is almost over! I love this series so much. What’s not to love? Magic, Supernatural beings, danger, love and it all takes place in an unassuming small town. I recommend reading in order as the characters and stories intertwine with each other in the small town of Juniper Lake. Each story is unique though and you definitely won’t get bored! Sure as Hell is the story of Jaru and Lark. Jaru is an imp demon and Lark is Jaru’s best friend. Trouble comes about, and puts Lark in danger. Jaru wants to push Lark away, to keep him safe. Lark has other plans and tells Jaru his feelings for him. Can Jaru accept Lark’s love and keep him safe? You must read to find out!

Corisande and her roommate/new BFF Sera follow all the academy rules to the letter whenever they head out of the academy walls. One day they head to the ocean cliffs to practice their song. Corisande has checked everywhere and the coast is clear so she’s horrified when she starts singing that a small sailboat appears on the horizon and is heading for a very rocky shore. Corisande cuts off her song but it’s too late and the boat heads to the rocky shore and crashes. Horrified Corisande and Sera rush down the rocks to safe this poor soul from certain death. While freeing him he mumbles the Siren song he heard Corisande sing shocking her into silence. Once they free him they rush back to their car and get back to the school before they are discovered as ems arrives, but before she leaves Corisande finds his wallet and his name Noah and she immediately can’t get him off her mind and finds herself googling him for more information, turns out he attends a human prep school nearby. From there the story that unfolds is a beautiful ya Paranormal Romance story with Corisande feeling a pull to Noah she doesn’t understand and the same happening for Noah. Finding Cheer was a sweet, magical, and uplifting read. It is the second book in the Magical Emerald Hollow series. I did not read the first book and felt this could be a standalone. However, I will go back to read the first book as it would give me more background on Ash and Holly, even though this book focuses on the romance between Sofia and Isaiah.
Sofia is still dealing with the grief of losing her mother and the end of a relationship with a man she thought she could trust. While hiking, she finds a man with no memory of his past. Because of everything that she has endured, she is rather skeptical of him. As she spends more time with Isaiah, trying to help him uncover her past, she finds herself drawn to him as he is to her.
The story is told from Sofia and Isaiah’s perspectives, and Holly and Ash are also narrators. At first, I wasn’t sure what the significance of including Holly and Ash was, but it all comes to light at the end of the book. It all connects brilliantly.
I thought the book was well-written, and I could feel the pull between Sofia and Isaiah. I’m glad the author took her time with their relationship, and I enjoyed watching their friendship grow and how they came to support one another. The setting was described well, and I wanted to visit Emerald Hollow. Heather Schneider is a new writer for me, and I am so glad I ran across her. I’m hoping this series will continue. If you like the following tropes, you will love this series: small-town setting, clean romance, strong female leads, irresistible male main characters, and some magic mixed in.

4.5 stars Don’t let the cover fool you. This paranormal fantasyish tale is original and intriguing. It has a Cinderella feel with a twist to it. C.A. is known for writing a variety of genres and why enjoy them. You never know what you are going to get. I have said it before and am saying it again C.A. King never fails to deliver great works for her readers. She is one of my favourite authors. I love her unique and eclectic writing skills and the array of unusual worlds and characters that she creates. Ever wonder where the name Vampire came from? There is a definite line between humans and paranormals if only they could get along. A treaty is to be signed but will it be upheld? She has always been looked down on as lesser than the fiercest, the bravest and the strongest yet she may just win his heart. This imaginative and creative short story is one not to be missed for paranormal lovers.
Just Ducky kept me interested from start to finish! It was a nice change from the typical shifter and vampire story. It kept me guessing and wanting to read more with each chapter. The ending was unexpected and I loved it! It’s the kind of book that makes you sad that you’ve finished it. I will definitely be reading more in this series.

The School of Nine was a perfect Novella for any YA reader. Bianca is a Muse in training that is attending Brightling Academy. She trips in Poise class one day to be met with Sebastian, the first male to attend the academy in decades, since Muses are typically female. Once Bianca and Sebastian realize that the signs are appearing signaling the end of the Muses power, they must do everything they to find a way to stop it from happening. I loved the premise of the story with a school full of muses to bring inspiration to ordinary human artists. They bring good things into the world and make the world a better place. The love interest is wholesome. Amanda Marin does an amazing job giving significant detail to the world even with a short number of pages. I look forward to reading A Song of Salt and Secrets next.

A Song of Salt and Secrets is the second Novella in The Mythic Academy Collection. This book takes place in the same world as The School of Nine. The main character this time is Corisande who is a Siren studying at Magwitch Academy, a boarding school by the sea. Sirens are cured with a song of salt that lures unexpected sailors to their deaths. Corisande accidentally sings to Noah causing him to crash on the shore, he is injured but alive. What will happen to Corisande and Noah now that he has heard the sirens song? The world building and character development is fantastic considering that it is a novella. The details within the book are enough to hook you in. It is a nice twist on myths about the supernatural. The romance is clean. Overall, the book is a fun and short read.

When I first read the synopsis for Just Ducky, I wasn’t sure what to expect. But, C. A. King is an author that I won’t hesitate to read so I dove right in. What an unexpected, well-written, original, shifter romance. There is drama, adventure, and a bit of motherly intuition and meddling. Ducky (aptly named due to her fuzzy, two-legged, web-footed alter ego) finds herself in the midst of conflict between humans and shifters. This is where she meets Lord Kobreon and his mother, Trishia. C. A. King’s characters are so interesting, entertaining, and unique! The world building in this book is great. I could see the opulence of the human kingdom, feel the greed of the human general, and the connection between Ducky and Kobreon. Overall, a quick, entertaining read that I would recommend for anyone who enjoys a touch of the peculiar.

Master Oradea is Book 10 in the Masters of the Consulate series and one of my favorite series’….its a series I cannot get enough. I was very excited to dive right in to Master Oradea’s story and boy it did not disappoint. Although you can read each book as a standalone..please do yourself a favor and start from the beginning….being part of a world of vampires, witches, shifters, fated mates and sizzling chemistry. I love each book in this series and it continues to get better and better.
Master Oradea and the rest of The Master are still in search to hunt down the notorious, Lucas, who is rogue and dangerous. When Natalia and Oradea meet..the instant chemistry is undeniable….what Oradea does not originally plan for is having to saving the beautiful, Natalia, in the hands of the rogue vampires..especially the danger it entails…but with danger in every turn and who do you trust…will Oradea be able to keep Natalia safe….

A Song of Salt and Secrets is part of the Mythic Academy series by Amanda Marin, this is an enjoyable short read that looks at a part of the supernatural community that I don’t think I have ever read about before, sirens. The story follows Corisande, who is a senior at the mysterious Magwich Academy, a school designed to keep sirens safe from the human world. Unfortunately, even though she tried her best not to, Corisande unexpectedly allows a human to hear her siren song and although she saves him, it may not be enough to save herself. I liked this book, I read it all in one sitting and it kept me engaged throughout. I wish there was a bit more character development though as I feel that you didn’t get to really get to know them properly. I did like that it was a new take on a supernatural story and would read more in this series.

Just Ducky is the first book in the Weird Shifters series by C.A King. It is a superb, very original, and cleverly crafted paranormal romance. There is a bit of a fairytale-esque feel to the story, as well as a ‘quest’ component- which means plenty of action, adventure, danger, and high stakes. This shifter romance had me intrigued from the moment I laid eyes on the title, and then the blurb only fired my curiosity even more- so I was excited to dive in as soon as it hit my Kindle. With unusual shifters, as well as vampires, wolves, agendas, an opposites attract element, forced proximity, magic, fate, humour, banter, mystery, tension, intrigue, suspense, the threat of war, and time running out- made this an entirely engrossing read. Ducky has felt like a ‘duck out of water’, excluded and made fun of- and treated like an outcast for her whole life. But when she discovers that the shifter of her dreams may be on the look out for a bride, Ducky can’t help but watch longingly from the ‘sidelines’. But then fate thrusts her into a situation that brings her up close and personal with her heart’s desire- only he doesn’t realise ‘who’ she is. With the threat of war on the doorstep, Ducky would love to be able to help find a solution to the problem- but what can she, a little duckling, possibly be able to do? And what happens when her secrets are revealed? If you love paranormal stories, sweet romance, adventure, and a fairytale feel, then you will definitely want to get your hands on a copy of this book. Wooowza book ten already!! I couldn’t wait to escape back into the world! With new and old friends I was ready for this next adventure. You would think since this being the 10th book the series it would lose some of its lackluster ,but NOPE. Sylvia Black just keeps knocking it out of the park each book she writes. Each one being just as compelling then the last, if not more. This one follows Natalia and Master Oradea (who are my new favorite 🤣i think i say that about every new book/couple that comes out. Maybe I love all of them) the chemistry between them is plus ultra. Told from both POVs which you gotta love. You’ll have to tell me if yall saw these twists coming or not , because I know some I definitely didn’t and I was shook. If you haven’t read the previous book you really need to go back to read them, as for me Bring on Book number 11 and 12 🥰🥰 what am i going to do after this series is done?

Ducky has had a life of ridicule as a duck shifter, especially when she gets anxious she she shifts to a furry duckling. Hearing that Vampire Lord Kobreon is on his way, Ducky just wants a glimpse. Everything goes awry though when she gets hurt and is rescued only to find herself a constant companion to Kobreon, the only problem is it’s as a duck.
This was fun, was not sure what would happen to Ducky. Full of different types of shifters and very different then the other books I have read of this genre. Entertaining.

This is the 10th book in Master Of The Consulate Series. This is a stand-alone book, but I would suggest starting from the start. I read this book with no issues of not reading the others but would have gotten more in-depth with the characters from the previous books. There are vampires, humans, witches, and shifters. This is a dark vampire mafia romance with some steam. Need I say anymore?? There is loyalty, and there is a difficult time of trying to see if there is betrayal. Oh, and the romance… it’s there also. Just Ducky is Book 1 of the Weird Shifters series and when I saw the cover I was already intrigued. Never read a duckling shifter story until now and I love the uniqueness of this storyline. Drama, intrigue, shifters, royalty and greed…I really enjoyed this book.
There is a rift between Vampire Lord Kobreon and King Hammerhead as King Hammerhead’s daughter is gravely ill and Kobreon is trying to find a cure so there is peace between them. Ducky is just trying to survive each day, being a unique shifter that does not get much respect from others. Intrigue draws Ducky to Kobreon’s castle, his mother takes Ducky in her duckling form. Kobreon is attached to this duckling for some reason, but is tasked as time is running out to find a cure for King Hammerhead’s daughter. Will Lord Kobreon be able to save the day and find a peaceful treaty between him and King Hammerhead? When Ducky has her true calling will she get the respect she deserves and also to Lord Kobreon’s heart?
This is a fun paranormal read not to be missed! Already looking forward to book 2.
This book is by an author that I never hesitate to pick up. Her stories are engaging and hard to put down. I enjoy her writing skills and her ability to bring the story to life. This is a shorter book but it sure does pack a punch in the supernatural department. This is a well written story where the border between supernatural and human is at risk for war. It all depends on a princess waking up. Meanwhile Lord Kobreon has a line of females wanting to be by his side. What happens with these two you don’t want to miss. There is great growth throughout the characters and the plot which made the story easy to read. This is an entertaining story that is a must read. One you don’t want to miss for sure. I enjoyed reading this book. I highly recommend it.

I was diagnosed with clinical depression after the loss of my mother, father and husband within three years of each other; all to cancer. 24/7 in-home care, coupled with the loss I felt, left its mark on my psyche.
Depression takes up a lot of my life. Reading and writing are the only things I have found that help (in connection with regular medication), even if only for a short time. To escape to a different world can make a big difference in my mood in real time.
To put things in perspective, when I was at my lowest point, I couldn’t open mail, talk on the phone, or even drive to the store. Walls of sadness surrounded me. As they closed in, tears would fall. There didn’t need to be a reason or trigger.
People ask me why I started writing. My answer is simple: I wanted to create a world into which other people with similar problems could escape. I wanted to share the one place that had helped me for many years.
I have always said that as long as one person finds a little bit of happiness out of my books, I am, in my opinion, an accomplished author. The same is true for every writer out there. Please don’t ever let anyone tell you differently.
I read books as well as write them and have visited the worlds many different authors have created. Those worlds not only make me feel better, but give me the strength to face real life again. I want to thank everyone who writes—I want them to know they are making a difference.

I can’t believe we are almost at the end of this series! It has been such a good series and I have enjoyed each book for different reasons. The vampires are still on the hunt for the rogues and they keep coming ever closer. Like the masters before, Oradea meets his fated mate when she puts herself in danger. She has powers of her own, some of which she didn’t even know about. Unfortunately when she uses her powers she puts them all in danger. This has all of the elements and steam we have come to expect if you have read all the books in the series. Master Oradea is just as enjoyable as all the others and just as fast paced. Just make sure you don’t have anything important planned because you won’t want to stop reading until the book is finished.

A Song of Salt and Secrets is the second book in the Mythic Academy Collection by Amanda Marin. It is a YA teen fantasy with sirens, an ancient Goddess, a curse, magic, romance as well as friendships. It has a little mermaid vibe just revamped. We follow Corisande, who is a siren, attending the Magwitch Academy. She is desperately trying to keep her cursed singing voice under control, but despite warnings, she lures in Noah, who is a student at a nearby Prep school, and almost kills him when he crashes his boat. Cue in angry Goddess Aphrodite. Corisande is rapidly starting to feel a pull towards Noah. Fate must have a plan, even if it doesn’t seem that way at the moment.
Will Corisande ever be able to control her curse? Will Aphrodite cause problems than cannot be averted? How could Noah ever love a monster like Corisande?
While this is the second book in the collection, it is and can be read as a stand-alone. Looking forward to reading more from this author.
**Noah’s mom is probably the only aspect of the book I did not like. While I understand she was wanting to keep her son safe, it came off really odd. But it did not make that big of an impact of how much I loved the book.

Sure As Hell (Life Is Hell Book 4) by Naomi Valkyrie. I love this series and I think each book gets better. I would recommend reading these in order so you get all the great details. Its the story of Juniper Lake a not so normal destination, it just happens to be a hot spot for demons. We meet Jaru who is an imp and a former contact companion who feels like he not doing his job up to par. Jaru decides to open a new business, much to his best friend Lark’s dismay. Lark is actually jealous of all the time Jaru spends on this new business since they are a new couple. Lark decides to mess up the business on purpose so that he can have all of Jaru’s attention. Will Jaru’s business make it and will Lark get all of Jaru’s attention or will Lark’s interference cause them to split permanently. Read Sure as Hell to find out all this and more!

This was a really enjoyable YA paranormal romance. It is a story full of magic, myths, danger, romance, ancient goddesses and secrets all set in the boundaries of an academy. I loved Corisande, she is a character who I really felt for because she sees herself as a monster and finds it hard to believe that anyone can see her as anything more than that. Corisande is a Siren. She has been cursed with this which means she always has to fight the urge to sing because her song can lure men to their death. And that’s what happened. One fateful day she thought it was safe to sing her song but it wasn’t safe and all and it brought Noah almost to his death. After Corisande saves Noah she can’t help but feel drawn to him but she doesn’t understand the reason why. As she gets to know him questions arise that needs to be answered such as should she tell him the truth about what she is? Could there be a connection between his uncle who survived a shipwreck and a past student who saved a human then ended up losing their life? What happens when a life that is supposed to be sacrificed survives? Does there need to be another person taken in their place?
This story is fast paced and very unique. It is part of a series but you can read this story as a standalone. I really enjoyed it and I can’t wait to read more.

This is the 10th book in the series and it can be read as a stand alone. I haven’t read every book in this series but I have read a few. It is a good read if yup don’t read the others but you would gain more perspective with the story having read them in order. That said, let’s break down this book without giving anything away. First, you will be submersed into a paranormal world that is so vividly described that you are able to picture everything like a photograph in your mind. That is just the beginning, you will then meet all of these characters that are going to have you second guessing whether or not they actually exist. The author has written everything so thoughtfully and carefully that you highly expect for all of these supernatural beings are real. It will have you saying, how did the author think of that, because even if you didn’t see that coming or that being an ability; you do now. There are things in this book that just make sense, like of course that is happening because why wouldn’t it, types of situations. However, you as the reader don’t expect it and then you’re sitting there like….yep, should have guessed. This book takes twists and turns that you don’t see coming. There is suspense, mystery, action, romance, steam, paranormal beings, supernatural powers, and an amazing story line. You can’t go wrong with reading this book and I am thinking I am going to do a deep dive into the rest of the books I haven’t read yet. They seem to keep getting better and better with each one. In this first book we have the story of the Muses. Mainly Bianca and Sebastian. Bianca is close to flunking out of Brightling Academy. She offers to help Sebastian settle in at her school. Bianca is your sweet kind of girl. She has a lot of power but doesn’t quite know it. She has a lot of self-doubt but by the end of the novella, she has beautifully transformed into a butterfly who knows her worth. I really enjoyed this book! I will be adding it to my daughter’s library when she gets a little bit older. I think she will absolutely love this book!

This was a really cute novella. It was quick to get through. I was quite sad that it didn’t take me very long to finish it. I wanted to read more and hear more about Corisande and Noah’s story. The way it ended was very sweet, but I was wanting more. I will say though my favorite character was Sera. She was everything a best friend could ask for. I am for sure going to read more about Mythic Academy! It tied in the different myths of the sirens beautifully, and the storytelling was amazing. When the accident causing Noah to fall off his boat leads into some interesting turns and twists. Are the feeling between Corisande and Noah real, or are they just because of her curse?
