The first book pulls you in, and the second makes you never want to get off this journey with Vanessa. It seamlessly picks up where the first book leaves off akin to gift wrapping a perfect gift that was the first book. So now Vanessa is dead, stuck in the underworld with Grey who she has already deemed insufferable as if she wants to be there too. But alas it was a must for him to save her from the gold dusted arrow Aroz fired at her. She does make some new friends and the one that caps off this stellar book is Gorgonita, she is just awesome and sooo hilarious. I especially love how we see a new side to the chemistry between Grey and Vanessa. The character development and world building in Hazel’s writing is absolutely superb and if I keep discussing the book, I might give something away. That is the last thing I want to do to anyone because these books are just so dang good. If you haven’t read the first book “The Don,” do that as quickly as possible and if you have, I don’t know why you’re wasting time reading reviews just get the book and have fun devouring it!

I was completely ensnared by this novel, that the pages seemed to race by and next thing I knew it was over and I was looking for the second book. I am a sucker for books about the Greek gods and this one did not disappoint. Vanessa is your typical squeaky clean good girl that in the grand scheme of things just wants for her brother to beat cancer. However, thanks to her less than stellar neighbor, who is bound for Tartarus one day, she comes face to face with Grey. Grey is the Don of the underworld and the only God that can negotiate deals after the initial deal of a soul. Things go awry when she also meets Raef, his brother, and Aroz who is on a mission to ruin her with a cursed arrow. With her brother only having months left to live is Vanessa ready to trade a soul for a soul. This is a must-read book that flawlessly combines the Greek Gods into a new type of Romance novel that’ll leave you wanting more!

Ciaran Donnelley and Caitlin O’Connell are back a year after Ciaran woke up from his entombment and the pair are in Ireland to visit the archaeological dig and try to get some of Ciaran’s memory back as part of his recovery from the amnesia he is using as a cover story, however, nothing is how it used to be and Ciaran is feeling homesick, even though he is home. As they drive through the countryside, Caitlin is suggesting places to visit to try and jog his memory, but all she is really doing is annoying Ciaran who just wants to deal with his feelings and how the changes he is seeing that happened between the fifth and twentieth centuries have altered the country.
After a couple of hours driving and awkward silences, Ciaran asks if they can go to Dublin and see the last monk they have on display there, although he can’t tell Caitlin that it is his brother Aodhan as yet, he says that it will help him when he gets to the dig, she reluctantly agrees, even though it is hours out of their way. Once they get to the museum and they go and see Aodhan, they also run into a couple of colleagues of Caitlin’s who she introduces to Ciaran, he asks if they can take a closer look at he exhibit before they leave and his request is granted, but mainly only because of Catlin’s presence there. The face that Ciaran cannot spend as much time as he wanted there, frustrates him and the drive to the dig site is silent and full of tension and this lasts until they get to the rooms which have been prepared for them in the B&B where everyone is staying.
The awkwardness only lasts until the next day when Ciaran has been out for a walk in the local countryside to clear his head and look for the sacred grove the priesthood used to use for their worship and rituals, however, he instead finds some young children who live in the area who tell him about a find of their brothers, which turns out to be his dead wife’s ring. Ciaran is determined to find her and suggests looking in the lake to the dig team and the professor leading it, however, all does not go to plan and more mishaps and a mystery serial killer moving into the area lead to his carefully crafted secret is revealed, but will Ciaran be able to free his brother from his endless sleep and stop the serial killer the only way he knows how to and will he be able to find the fabled Book of Carraig in order for this to happen? This is a paranormal adventure which will keep you on the edge of you seat throughout and the twists and turns will keep you guessing what happens until right at the end.

Epic! This series has got me sitting on the edge of my seat. Andrea Matthews has created the most amazing story that paints vivid pictures. The story picks up right where the first book left off. I guess you could read without reading the first book but why would you because it was so good. Ciaran and Caitlin are going to be working together on dig, but can he continue to keep her in the dark? What will happen when the truth comes out?

Enjoyable book! This is book 2 in the series and I would highly recommend reading the first book before diving into book 2. The story picks up about a year later….and the story between Ciaran and Caitlin. There are secrets and Ciaran is trying to remember his past and also has to come to terms of being truthful to Caitlin as Ciaran and Caitlin return to Ireland. Mystery, secrets, romance all wrapped into a good book.

The Cross of Ciaran transported me to the 5th century and left me waiting with baited breath for more of this story to unfold. Titanian’s Phoenix: Titanian Chronicles by Victoria Saccenti was an amazing paranormal romance that left this reader wanting more. Full of suspense, drama, action, romance and so much more Ms. Saccenti gives us so many twists and turns that you won’t want to stop reading until you find out what happens. While I love paranormal romance I was initially drawn to this book by its beautiful cover. But the cover was Not the only beautiful thing about this book the characters are simply amazing and Ms. Saccenti has not only an amazing way with words but also a beautiful and eventful plot line. But if you want to know what happens with Soren and Maya you’ll have to read Titanian’s Phoenix: Titanian Chronicles by Victoria Saccenti for yourself.

Ms. Matthews really knows how to draw people in with her amazing characters, her intense plot, and her incredible attention to details. Filled with secrets, truth, and an intense hunt to find the one book that could answer it all. Full of twists and turns, action, and so much more to keep us flipping the pages. I personally couldn’t put it down, but will our beloved characters find what they need before it’s too late? This is the 5th installment in the Broderick series. Edward Broderick is a smooth talking witch whose natural talent lies with making businesses thrive. Mia Hemlock is a born earth witch whose strong powers make her the perfect florist. When she and Edward meet, sparks fly but neither is willing to bend completely to the Goddesses’ will in who their mates will be.
This book did fit nicely into the series and satisfied my curiosity about Edward. I could have asked for more drama in regards to the story line, less internal and more external as it were. This will not discourage me from looking forward to the next Broderick novel.

This was a wonderful second book to this series! I was glad that it picked up fairly soon after the first one and didn’t pace too far forward in time. The flashbacks continued to provide keen insight and backstory for Ciaran’s past–and added his brother Aodhan to the plot! I have to admit, I was happy that he got to have his twin join him in his excursions in the modern world!
There were some big twists that I didn’t see coming in this book, too. Andrea Matthews does an incredible job describing Ireland and its landscape, giving me another reason to enjoy the book. I look forward to seeing how she continues the story in the next installment!

This is an enjoyable and engaging historical romance with a twist, and the exciting storyline had me hooked from page one. I would recommend reading ‘The Cross of Ciaran Book 1’ first as this novel continues the story of archaeologist Caitlin O’Connell, and fifth-century Celt Ciarán Donnelly who finds himself in the twentieth-century. Having returned to his childhood home in Ireland, it is not how he remembers it and his relationship with Caitlin is also under stress as he is still keeping a major secret from her. As Ciarán is actually the Celt that mysteriously disappeared from museum the previous year. Ciarán is keen to try and wake his brother, Aodhán up from the same centuries long sleep that Ciarán was in, and free him from the Dublin museum.
When it’s discovered that a series killer is on the loose and that Ciarán is the only one who can stop him, he desperately needs to find the Book of Carraig which holds the answer. However, he risks revealing his secret and puts his life in danger. I felt completely immersed in the storyline which flows well and the intriguing plot kept me happily turning the pages well into the night. This is a wonderfully written and heartwarming story, which is full of historical details. These and the descriptive narrative bring both the characters, the setting and the eras to life.

Wild Desire is the first book in The Protectors series by Toya Richardson. As I started further into this fantastic series, it has been great to go back and ‘see’ where everything began. This is a superb paranormal romance, with shifters, fated mates, drama, danger, suspense, trauma, fear, action, agendas, and emotion. Mila Stubbs has had a traumatic past but is hoping her new job will be another step towards a brighter future. The only problem is that being a forest ranger means it will be placing her a little close to her past- one she would much rather forget and leave behind. She knows she might be inviting danger back into her life- but a chance meeting might turn fate in her favour. If you love a great paranormal story with action, adventure, suspense, and a wonderful romance- then you need this book in your life! I’m so glad I went back to the beginning!

I loved this book! Great follow-up to The Cross of Ciaran and just as adventurous. I love the twists and turns that run throughout, and the continuation of the relationship by Ciaran and Caitlin as they visit Ireland. There is a great balance of heartache, new love, and danger with some great historical flashbacks. Who knew an archaeologist’s life could be so exciting! We meet new characters, all of which have their own personality and lend a lot to the story. I am sorry to see the series end but look forward to reading more books by Ms. Matthews!

Wild Desire was a good read. This is the first book out of this series I’ve read before. I wasn’t sure what exactly to expect when I picked this book up besides some romance and paranormal shifters. I was not expecting the steam! This book was probably about 70% steam and spicy content. This book had a great storyline, but I feel like it could have been executed better. There was a ton of chances to throw some suspense in there and more action and excitement and it was kind of just skipped over for more sex scenes. I enjoyed reading this book it just didn’t hold my interest like I really wanted it to. I hope the next books in this series gets better! This has potential to be an amazing series!

I am completely obsessed with this series; it doesn’t happen with many so when it does, I know I will return time and time again to read it. So now Vanessa has completely won the heart of Grey, God of the underworld but must deal with what a lot of us must deal with. The dreaded mother-in-law, only hers is worse because her mother-in-law is a queen. She accepts a mission from Grey’s mother, that at first thought sounds simple enough but, when are things ever that simple for Vanessa. Finding herself prisoner to Aroz in an invisible castle quite literally in the clouds, how will she complete her mission especially when her very soul is at stake. The author adds a touch of beauty and the beast to the story and for Vanessa it is not all it’s cracked up to be. After finishing this book, I was glad to see that the author has a book 4 coming out next month because I am not quite ready to say goodbye to these characters. This is a must-read series that will draw you in and not let you go, not that you would want to go except maybe to buy the next book!

What a wonderful second book in the series. The continuation of the story of Cieran keeps you just as enthralled as the first. This installment has truths, lies, secrets, etc. intertwined into the story. It is so exciting and so mysterious. The mystery will carry you through the book. The wonderful characters and descriptions of the the beautiful country of Ireland will amaze you. Such a good investment. So worth the purchase. Highly recommend. This second book in the Cross of Ciaran series does not disappoint. We are back to the 1960s, following Ciarán as he attempts to piece together the events that occurred at the time of his death. He longs to set Aisling free from her watery grave, and pay his lost love the respect that she deserves. He is also determined to find a way to wake up his brother Aodhán, who languishes in a museum, but appears to be as intact as Ciarán. His hometown bears little resemblance to how it looked in the 5th Century, but he eventually gets his bearings.
I got a little tired of all the deception with his identity, and was eager for him to fess up and admit who he really is. How long can a man covered in tattoos hide them? I wanted to hear more from Caitlin, who seemed to be less heard-from in this Book 2. However, the book was expertly written, just as Book 1, and it was easy to fall back into the story and enjoy Ciarán’s adventures. Definitely worth the read.

I loved this story! Mila and Elias are so cute together! This was such a unique twist on a shifters tale. I really enjoyed it. It had just enough fire of the heart and true danger to keep you sucked into the story. I really liked Mila’s character and just that she followed her calling no matter the cost. The Book of Carraig is the second book in this AMAZING series by author Andrea Matthews and it is just as fantastic as the first book. Yet again I couldn’t put it down and had that feeling where I wanted to hurry up and read it to see what was going to happen but at the same time didn’t want it to end. Sleep is overrated right?? I do HIGHLY recommend reading the first book, The Cross of Ciaran before reading this, not only because it’s amazing but also as it picks up Ciaran and Caitlin a year later when he returns to Ireland. Of course it is a very different Ireland now.
As I mentioned before this book is as fantastic as the first and continues with more romance, magic, drama and mystery just like the first. I really don’t want to give too much away. I personally can’t wait for the third book. I am totally hooked.

This is the first book I have read from Andrea Matthews and I am definitely 100 percent a fan. Her love of history and this world she created is evident in every sentence and in the way the characters, especially Caitlin and Ciaran, draw you in and develop through the story. Ciaran can come stay with me anytime he likes! This book has a little bit of everything in it and it will keep you turning page after page. I just couldn’t put it down!! It definitely now has a special place in my heart.

Wow, this book had a whole lot packed into it; it’s definitely not your typical shifter romance!
Characters- Elias is such a sweetie, I love how down to Earth and thoughtful/understanding he is. Then the author also goes, oh he’s a guy I have to make him do a few stupid things too! Love it! Mila at first reminded me of a girl in a horror movie or a drunk girl in a bar bathroom calling her ex- running right into danger and throwing all the common sense out the window, thank goodness Elias is there to ground her and bring out her badassery! Special note- I wish Lily was my sister (wouldn’t hurt to be her either)!
Plot-this was not what I expected at all! I loved that it still had the shifter coming of age/returning to where you belong, but still brought something new to the table with what they are fighting against!

The Book of Carraig (The Cross of Ciaran Book 2) by Andrea Matthews is the follow-up to The Cross of Ciaran, the tale of a fifth century Irish priest who is exhumed and awakens in modern day Ireland. I am drawn to history and am fascinated by archaeology, so I thoroughly enjoyed the first book and was not disappointed by this installment in any way. I have ancestors from Ireland but have never been. Reading the descriptions, I felt as though I were there among the rolling green hills and experiencing the culture and learning the history. Like the first book, the past and present are melded together seamlessly and makes for a very smooth, entertaining read. I highly recommend this book, along with the first, and promise you will not be disappointed. Major props to this author.

I don’t know if I can put into words how amazing this book is, not only were the first two amazing this one really put this series over the edge. The issues that come up with what Vanessa has to go thou and then trying to figure out how to do it is just totally wonderful. Grey’s mother really hates having Vanessa there because now she doesn’t have a hold on Grey to make him do what she wants her too, and Vanessa has pretty much put a stop to it. I would honestly call her a monster-in-law, if you know what I mean. Once again, the romance and love in this book just pours off the pages. I really enjoyed this book and can’t wait for the next one.

What would you do to save a loved one? That was vanessas thought and she really wonders what she has done to get were she is now. Vanessa is the most amazing character ever, she loves deeply, caring, a heart of gold but will do anything to help anyone and she will find a way. it was impossible to not fall in love with this book, with the characters, plot, challenges and love. The fiery passion in this book was really captivating. It was very entertaining to read and such a wonderful book all around. I really can’t wait to read the rest of the series to this amazing story. I highly recommend it.

The Book of Carraig is a wonderful second installment in The Cross of Ciaran Series. Andrea Matthews continues the story of Ciaran and Caitlyn as they take an archaeological trip across the Atlantic to Ireland, Ciaran’s homeland.
Ciaran Donnelly is in love with Caitlyn O’Connell, the archaeologist who discovered his body in a tomb almost a year ago. Quick thinking by her uncle has kept her from finding out the truth. She believes that his wife was murdered in a mugging gone bad in New York City.
Fate brings them back to Ireland as they continue to find relics from the fifth century where Ciaran once served as a priest. Caitlyn is hoping that he will find answers to his missing memories. Ciaran just wants to find out what did happen to his wife who was murdered by sacrifice in the temple.
While in Ireland, a serial killer starts attacking and killing young lasses. This brings up Ciaran’s past and the memory of a priest of his order who would do the same. Seeing as this very priest had disappeared from the London museum when he was also released from his entombment.
Only the Book of Carriag holds the key to defeating the serial killer priest. If only Ciaran can remember where it is located before it’s too late.
