I was hesitant about this one at first. It’s challenging to write about mythical creatures being super heroes without it coming off as hammy or cliché, but Mythical Alliance gets it just right. I read the first book, Phoenix Selected, and I enjoyed getting to know Zariya, the half human, half naga hybrid, and Konstantin Bauer, the mysterious vampire. They were great as individuals and had great chemistry together. The world building was also spot on. The different mythical creatures, or supes, were integrated into the modern world believably, and each race was described as if they naturally belonged to the plot and setting. I highly recommend this series. It’s well written and is a fantastic example of great story telling.

Black Dog Rising by Kat Caulberg was a gripping story! I felt hooked by the supernatural elements and could not put it down. I loved all the twists and turns, it really developed beautifully. I loved Emma and Toby and the wild ride they went on. I was rooting for Emma and really felt connected with her. Toby was a mystery I felt compelled to solve. Acaptivating read with all of my favorite elements!

Phew, this was one heck of a fantasy series, strap yourself in for some awesome sauce characters and a really interesting and vibrant world. I was honestly hooked from the first to the last. The books follow Zariya, a half-human, half Naga (some sort of snake supe) badass who is so sassy and such a fun character to read. In the first book, she is left reeling from the death of her father, believing that there was something suspicious about it, in order to find out the truth she joins a supe special forces called Veil Force and there her journey begins, becoming part of the Phoenix team. There she meets Konstantin, her boss and someone who she feels an irresistible attraction towards and various other awesome badass supes, together they bounce from one problem to the next, kicking all the butt and taking all the names. I really loved the vibe of these stories, as I’ve said Zariya is a sassy and screams an easy confidence that oozes off the page and it is impossible not to feel an instant connection with her. I loved, loved, loved the banter throughout these stories, in some other series I’ve found that the banter between characters can feel forced and unnatural but Luana nails it. She also nailed drawing the reader into the world and making it feel stupidly real. Totally finished this book believing that Veil Force was real and that I could hop, skip and jump out the front door and go sign myself up for the Phoenix Team banter at the ready and all ready for the doe eyes to send Konstantin’s way. I was very gutted when it all came to an end, to be honest, I felt like they were people I’d actually met, real-life friends that I wouldn’t be able to see anymore and it was really gutting for me. This says a lot about Luana’s writing and real she makes all of her characters feel. I would definitely recommend this series, it’s now up there as one of my favourite series and I think I’m definitely going to read it again because I feel like a read it a bit fast in a desperate bid to find out what happens next hehe. My bad. You should give this series a go though, it has action, mystery, intrigue, romance, and fantasy which in my opinion are all the best things so you can’t go wrong really, can you? Go on, give it a read, you know you want to.

Mythical Alliance: Phoenix Team: The Complete Season (Mythical Alliance #1-6) by Claire Luana
5 out of 5 stars
I have read a fee books by this author and I simply loved then I even read this story in one sitting (In 1 day) but it does have a cliffhanger. The plot was awesome and different and the characters are well written. I just loved their quirkiness.
We follow Zariya Chanji, and she is convinced her father was murdered and she will stop at nothing to uncover the truth–even if she must break into the headquarters of one of the most powerful organizations in the world. MASC, the Mythical Alliance of Supernatural Creatures, governs the lives of supes like herself, and she knows they had a hand in covering up her father’s murder. She does not understand, why they are covering his death up? After breaking int the MASC headquarters she is offered to join one of the covert Special Forces teams, as it’s the only way to secure a chance at revenge against the bastards that killed her father. But life on Phoenix Team may be more than Zariya bargained for and the deeper she gets, the more dangers lurk in the shadows, and the harder it becomes to tell friend from foe. Throw in a sexy vampire and her four deadly demons and what could a girl ask for… Will Zariys like the truth when she learns it? Will she stay alive long enough to learn the truth? And what is going on with her sexy vampire? You will need to read this complete season to find out what happens… Tracy @tracym

I really enjoyed this paranormal Boxset. I have picked up this authors books before and they have always been good and this set is no different. This set of six books is packed with adventure, suspense and even a little romance. Each book builds off the last and I loved following along and seeing where each story was headed. I am looking forward to reading more by this author in the future and I would recommend this to a friend! Happy Reading!

5 Stars Mythical Alliance: Phoenix Team: the Complete Season by Claire Luana
Mythical Alliance : Phoenix Team is the complete season which is six books. Each one is fast paced and packed with action and adventure. This author has quickly become one of my go to authors as her stories are always very qell written and pull you in from the beginning and doesn’t let go till the end. This set of books is no different. I found myself lost in the pages and had to force myself to put it down. If ypu like fantasy that’s got action and adventure then I highly recommend reading this complete set. I can’t wait to read more from this Author.

Hell In A Handbasket by Naomi Valkyrie is the 3rd book in the Life Is Hell series. I love, love, love, this series. The characters are well written and you will want to read them in order to get the best experience of reading about them. There’s action, suspense, romance, the group works as a team, and all in all it keeps my attention. We met both Oren and Teivel in previous books. Oren’s family are Demon Hunters who have lived in Juniper Lake for generations but didn’t receive all the training due to his relatives passing. Teivel is a Demon who has a big attitude. The way these two come to be close and more sure of each other is a great part of the story. You won’t be disappointed!

Black Dog Rising by Kat Caulberg was a good read. I wasn’t sure what to expect when I started reading this novel, but I wasn’t disappointed. I was a little thrown off at the beginning, because it felt it was starting off as a historical novel, with some modern items thrown in, until I got further into the novel then the time became a little more clearer. I really enjoyed reading this novel but it didn’t grab me and keep my attention like I was hoping it would. The characters were great and the storyline was good, there just wasn’t anything that popped out to me personally. I really enjoyed the writing style however. I definitely do want to read more from Caulberg in the future though.

Black Dog Rising takes place in Ninestone Downs, a sleepy country village where people still whisper of fairies and a hellish phantom canine prowls its streets. The female character, Emma Aubrey, is forced to flee her ex-boyfriend and the vengeful ghost of his dead wife. The male character is Toby Deering and he has no more room in his life for the paranormal. He’s got secrets of his own. This novel is a romance novel with a twist. Kat Caulberg has a wonderful fun imagination and it shows in her writing. I had to reread this novel because it is that good. I do recommend this to anyone who is into paranormal and/or romance.

This is the first book I’ve read by the author and it was amazing. You’ll want more of Emma and Toby when you are done.
Emma is trying to run from her ex. What she doesn’t know is she’s stepping into another world. It turns out for the best in the end. The quote I chose for Emma is: “I like you, Toby Deering, even if you don’t believe in fairy tales.”
Toby is the innkeeper that has been stuck at his inn since he burned it down. He finds himself drawn to Emma. When things go bad he turns to get. The quote I chose for Toby is: “I’ll look different. You might not like what you see. I’ll not be the pretty man you know me as now.”

Claire Luana has another winner with the Mythical Alliance Phoenix Team. This fantasy adventure feels like you’re part of it, with mythological creatures with a great cast and kept me engaged from start to finish. While this is a complete series, it is composed of individual “episodes” or novellas to read. Each one can be read as a standalone, but since this is the complete set no need. Once you finish one episode, you start reading the next, which is really awesome because you don’t have to wait for the next episode to come out. Claire Luana is wonderful and talented author with a vivid imagination that just pulls you, the reader, right in.

Mythical Alliance: Phoenix Team: the Complete Season By Claire Luana 5 out of 5 stars
I loved reading Mythical Alliance: Phoenix Team: the Complete Season by Claire Luana. They are stories that include mystery, intrigue, action, and danger. I found them hard to put down. I was turning pages to find out what happens next. I loved the character of Zariya Chanji. She is intelligent, determined, and resourceful. She is investigating her father’s death. What will she find? What does the future hold for her? Read this book to find out. The author does an amazing job of making the stories and the characters come alive. Some are helpful to Zariya and those with their motives. These stories had me on the edge of my seat wondering what was going to happen next. I found myself lost in the pages of the stories and emersed in what happens to Zariya and how it all turns out. Don’t miss out on stories that are exciting and entertaining to read. I highly recommend it.

I give Mythical Alliance: Phoenix Team: The Complete Season by Claire Luana, 5 stars.
This collection is urban fantasy at its finest. I love how it is written in a serial format, it reminds me of those old serials from the early days of Hollywood. Superbly written, each story is connected and we learn a little more about each Phoenix Team member. That being said, each one is different from the other. I could not put this down. This is my favorite genre and this series is now at the top of those I love. I can’t say enough about how good this book is. The characters are all individual and have flaws along with there strong traits. The stories in each section are fun, exciting, suspenseful, and at times sad.
This collection has it all and I highly recommend it.

It follows Zariya on her quest to find out who is responsible for the death of her father. What she doesn’t count on is finding out her father had a double life a life that she is to also drawn into an elite secret organisation. The series is really enjoyable I liked being able to read them all at once and not have to wait for the next one. It was really enjoyable if you like fantasy I recommend it highly.
I enjoyed this time travel story and the adventure it took me on. This is the third book in this series which I highly suggest reading the previous two books in this series. This is one of my favorites by this author yet. This is a well developed story that takes you on a time travel adventure that makes you feel you are with the characters. I had no problem connecting to them as they kept me turning pages. This story picks up where the Revolution left off. This is where the story picks up the action, a mission is revealed and fate gives it opinions on things. I won’t say too much because there is much going on in this book I think you read about for yourselves. This is a great series that is worth picking up which I highly recommend you do. Don’t miss out on an adventure of time.

Mythical Alliance: Phoenix Team: The Complete Season by Claire Luna was an incredible series! I was completely enthralled from the first book. I was skeptical the first few chapters, but then it picked up the pace and I was hooked. I absolutely loved the characters in this novel, and Phoenix Team in general. This was one of the most immersive paranormal series I’ve ever read. I was literally blown away. From the action, the humor, the suspense, and the romance. This novel has a little bit of everything for everyone. I can’t wait to read more from this author in the future! And I hope she writes more books from the characters in this series. I’m not ready to leave the world Luna created yet!

I picked this book up on a whim. I have read a few of AJ Renee’s books in the past but none of the Broderick Coven ones until now. This book was a fabulous read and really was what I needed without even knowing it. This book brings to life the coven and the characters so well that you feel as if you are right there watching these scenes happen in real time. I loved how this book kept me keen and on the edge of my seat waiting to see what would happen next in this magical work Renee has created. I did note this was the second book in this series but I was able to understand and follow along enough to enjoy it. I will now be going back to read the first one and anxiously will await the third. This is a series you do not want to miss if you love paranormal, witchy, magical, and adventurous reads. I can’t wait to see what will come next!

I cannot say enough about this series. This was funny, action packed and amazing. The word building was fantastic and the characters are so fully developed. There’s so many players in this series. The Phantom team. Seriously. This was one of the BEST series of books I’ve ever read. I loved every single thing about them. There are 6 books and 6 members on the team. Each book is important and YOU MUST READ THEM IN ORDER. Please. Do yourself a favor and just follow along. AMAZING. Claire Luana- you’re brilliant!

Hell in a Handbasket by Naomi Valkyrie a fiery five-star read. This is number three in the Life is Hell series and it has been a great series, its so well written and there is an attention to detail that you just don’t normally see. I would say to read them all and read them in order, as they build on each other and the characters gel better the more you know them, you get deeper into the story. The characters have depth and feel like people/demons/demon hunters that you need to get to know. This is a great story and one you need in your life.

This is the story of Ethan Broderick and Serena Bishop, they are both witches, but Serena is the more powerful and head of her cover, whereas Ethan is new to his powers and up until a few months ago, didn’t know his family was a family of witches at all, so not being a part of any coven and dealing with that revelation is tough, but together, they are now mentor and pupil as Serena teaches Ethan how to use and develop his powers.
As she locks up for the night, Serena’s thoughts turn to Ethan and the events which brought him to her, as well as his sister, a powerful witch in her own right and a rival to her own power, but someone who doesn’t want to overthrow her, much to Serena’s surprise. While her memories flow, she shuffles a tarot deck and places it back under its crystal and heads upstairs to her apartment above the shop, she showers and takes in the peaceful scents of her incense mixing with her lavender body wash to help dispel the thoughts and morose mood she has developed and let sleep take her. Meanwhile, Ethan is home from a business trip and is thinking of Serena and how he has missed working with her while away and the revelations of his family history and the things it has awakened in him, his brothers and his sister. He sends her a quick text before showering and heading to bed, however a restful sleep was not in the cards when he awakens from a nightmare and the feeling it brought with it of foreboding, but with nothing else to glean from the images, he takes another shower and follows it with coffee and unpacking.
The next day, Serena heads around the store, cleansing it from the last customer’s emotions and starts sorting out a new delivery of crystals until she is startled by Ethan entering the shop and confused by her emotions and bodily reactions when he is around, but when she sees that he is not his usual self, she shuts the shop early and gives him an earful about not cleansing himself enough or properly and while she is trying to prepare to help him, she cannot think clearly until he puts his hands on her shoulders and helps her to regain her calm, however, as the cleansing ritual begins, she finds herself drawn into the circle she created around him and herself being cleansed at the same time, however, what she learns while this is happening si something she never expected.
As they continue to work together and develop his oracle powers, as well as developing feelings for each other, Ethan continues to get more visions and these ones are of Serena and of her being in danger, this leads to a fierce need to protect her and those around her, but who is the threat from and how can he help Serena to avoid her demise? All this and more will be answered as you read along this journey with Ethan and Serena, bringing more revelations and an emotional rollercoaster along with them.

Is the second book of the series which blends romance with a cozy mystery. Trent Austin doesn’t have time for this house he’s inherited in the suburbs from his uncle. Upon wanting to sell the house he employs Tina the best know realtor in town. It’d turn into so much more than just a sale of a house a demon is after Trent soul and there a connect between these two souls. Bottom line is that’s what this book is, fun reading.

Mythical Alliance: Phoenix Team: the Complete Season by Claire Luana
4 Stars
This was a fast moving series, and I had already read the first book and was thrilled to see them all boxed up. Each one could I guess be read as a stand alone but I don’t recommend that because there is a story building in each one and not having all of them wouldn’t give you the same effect as reading them all.
I’ve read a few other books by this author and although the genres are not my favorites she does an amazing job at holding me hostage while reading them. Every short story in this set was full of everything you could want, and the storylines were unique and fun and dangerous and edge of your seat kind of reading.
I highly recommend picking this series up, I love this author and so far she has never disappointed me in any book I choose to read from her. She is on my very short list of authors in these genres that I always one click because she does them so well.

Rebecca Remains by Jessica Aiken-Hall is a paranormal crime story. It took me a little bit to get into but once it got going it really took off. Jessica definitely takes us on a journey that is full of mystery and intrigue. It is cleverly woven together with great characters. Murder, mystery and mayhem. Ghosts, lies, and secrets and a couple of twists along the way make for a compelling read.

Hell In A Handbasket (Life is Hell Book 3) by Naomi Valkyrie – Review by Gail Guerrero
Five stars
Here’s another one! Naomi Valkyrie has got the key to writing an interesting, attention grabbing book. You really get pulled into this story and live it. The attention to detail is so thought out you can really feel the moments. I have enjoyed all the books before this one. But this one is taking the lead. Characters and character development were great. There was action and mystery. The author really gives you a taste of everything in this story. I love paranormal stories and this one doesn’t disappoint. You laugh and want to throw your phone. We follow Oren a demon hunter and Teivel a demon. There is romance so don’t think she forgot to add that. This one will make you laugh a lot. Very excited for the next book.

Mythical Alliance: Phoenix Team: the Complete Season by Claire Luana was a fast paced supernatural read. I loved all the individual episodes tying into the main story. I don’t usually read fast paced stories but I felt like this had a really good balance of development and detail. I loved the action, adventure, mystery, and supernatural elements being blended together. I want this series to never end, this needs to just continue infinitetly.

Hell In A Handbasket by Naomi Valkyrie is the third book in the Life Is Hell series. This is another absolutely fantastic addition to such an incredible series. I was to excited to start reading this book after after enjoying the previous two so much. This book immediately became my favourite of the series – if not one of my favourites from the author. I love how connected I feel to all the characters, how that relationship has been built up from book 1 to now. It makes it so easy to slip straight back into their story, to feel like you are right there with them. This book was just so well written. There was a level of detail in it that you don’t see from many books. I found myself so caught up in what was happening that I didn’t expect the twist when it came. If you aren’t yet familiar with this author or this series I would suggest rectifying they today – you definitely won’t regret it.

This is my first read by this author, and what an epic story to get me started! This was a brilliant paranormal romance read, with a mentally visual storyline and epic characters that really pull you in and connect you with the story. This read was fast-paced, action packed and captivating from the get go! I absolutely loved these characters and watching them grow and develop throughout the read, they have incredible chemistry and a connection that is undeniable. I loved the weave of magic, history and romance and it left me wanting more! I highly recommend this read.
