Mythical Alliance: Phoenix Team: The Complete Season by Claire Luana Four Stars
Mythical Alliance is six books of fantastic fantasy by Claire Luana. This book is great because we get a complete story that is broken down in six shorter reads. This is not my first book by Ms. Luana, but it is my new favorite. I enjoyed the storyline, it was full of action, adventure and mystery. I was hooked through the whole series. The characters and world building is so descriptive, it make you feel like you are there next to Zariya, helping to solve the mystery of her father’s death. The story flowed smoothly and the witty banter had me laughing out loud. If you love a good paranormal fantasy, this is a great book for you.

Ride with the Moonlight (Thunder on the Moor Book 2) by Andrea Matthews was amazing. This is the second book in this series and I definitely recommend reading the first book before this one. I was so excited for this book after reading the first. You find romance, time travel, fantasy, action and adventure along with so much more. This book continues the journey of Maggie and Will, but can they stay safe? How will things work during their journey together? I became so hooked on this book, the way the author brings it to life is amazing, and then the characters no matter who they are, are amazing!!! I love this and I can’t wait to see what comes next.

Black Dog Rising by Kat Caulberg. This was a new author for me and I’m definitely looking forward to more from her. This book was packed with adventure, mystery and drama. When it comes to this genre of books I have to be really in the mood but I found myself easily drawn into this storyline and couldn’t put it down. The characters are complex and well developed, they captured my attention straight away and I couldn’t stop. It’s well written and paced nicely never feeling rushed or lacking anything. Even with so much happening it never feels bogged down and heavy. I loved going on this adventure with the characters and I’m excited to see more from this author. Five stars all the way and highly recommended.

Mythical Alliance: Phoenix Team: The Complete Season by Claire Luana. Wow just wow I’m finding it hard to find the words on how good this was. The author really has a way with words and creative story worlds. I completely fell into this story so easily which surprised me a bit because sometimes I find it hard to focus with this genre but that definitely wasn’t a problem here, I found myself completely lost in it’s pages and what an adventure it was to be on. The characters are complex and well developed. This set is full to the brims with action, mystery and so much more. It’s well written and paced nicely never feeling rushed or lacking anything. Excited to see where this author takes readers next. Four stars and highly recommended.

What happens when the demon falls in love with a demon hunter? A hella good story.
Naomi Valkyrie has become one of my favorite authors. I can really count on her for a really awesome story. Her attention to detail is out of this world. She describes the scene you are reading about and you can literally paint the picture in your mind’s eye. Her stories pull you in from the first page until the very last page in the book. If you love her attention to detail, you’re going to love her character development. I felt a connection to Teviel the demon. Then there is Oren the demon hunter. Oren is coming to terms with his demon hunter lineage. It appears as if these two should be worlds apart but their chemistry tells a whole different tale. It is a fast moving story with a lot of action. I could not put it down until I was finished with the book. I highly recommend this book and the whole series. You will not be sorry.

This is a great paranormal story that I really enjoyed. I was dragged into the story from the beginning and I couldn’t put it down. The characters are well written and even though the subject is paranormal you can actually imagine it happening because of how well the author paints the picture and builds the story.
Emma is running away from her ex and she finds herself in a small village being stalkered by an unknown person. Why is that person after her. She feels all alone until she is rescued by a handsome man called Toby.
Toby runs a local Inn which has a history. How much of that is real and how much is stories remains to be seen. The connection between them is strong and is felt immediately but why? Why is the connection between them so strong? What does it mean? With both Emma and Toby having pasts and keeping secrets their journey to unravel them all leads them on a great adventure you won’t be able to put down.

Black Dog Rising is a dark, romantic fantasy. Emma is in rural England fleeing her ex and ends up in a town called Ninestone Downs. Not everything is as it seems; magic is very much alive in this quaint town. She ends up at the Black Shuck Inn where she meets Toby Deering. The chemistry between them is undeniable but Toby carries some heavy secrets. Living with a four hundred year old curse, he tries to avoid Emma, if only to protect her. It seems their fates are intertwined. As much as he puts her in danger, he’s the only one that can protect her.
The book is well written and the author does a wonderful job of integrating Fae lore and English Shuck folklore into the story. The characters are well rounded and I love the way Toby uses older terminology in his speech patterns. There is plenty of mystery and danger to keep you interested in this story. The only thing that frustrated me was the fact that it took Emma so long to learn exactly what was going on. It’s the first book that I have read from this author and I enjoyed it, I believe you will too.

This story is about Emmeline Aubrey and what happens when she arrives in Ninestone Downs after escaping from her ex boyfriend and his murderous ex wife’s ghost. She moved continents to be with him, but after everything, she had to leave in order to be able to survive, but with only a small suitcase and what she hurriedly grabbed on her way out, she has nowhere to go and nobody to help her, that is until a mystery stalker appears and follows her all around the town. In a last ditch effort to lose his, she tries to escape through an alley, but it is a dead end, so as she slips into a doorway and after shouting loudly asking what the stalker wants and that she has called the police, she prepares to attack the would be attacker with her shoe, but when the door behind her suddenly opens, she falls down the stairs and into a mountain of human flesh, who proceeds to scare off her pursuer before asking her if she is ok and to explain what had just happened.
As her rescuer helps to clean up her new injuries and tactfully not ask about the other ones, she asks about the name of the pub she is in and his name, Toby, that is until he touches her arm and something like electricity passes between them, but also something more than that, she is not sure if he feels it too, but when he brushes it off, she is sure that he hasn’t. When she asks about an available room, he appears hesitant but when she says she has nowhere else to go, he has space for one night, the room is tiny, but at least she has one night to make her plans and figure out what she will do next. After a nap, a nightmare and a shadow she swears looked like the shape of a woman in her room, she realises that she had left all her toiletries and phone charger in London and so decides she needs to go out and get some, so she finds the barman who offers to take her after she has paid for her room. After getting the things she needed, they stop to get something to eat and as Toby, asks her more about herself, she avoids the questions with evasive answers until he sees someone and chases after them, leaving Emma alone, but when an old man startles her and then asks her to go see the puppets with him, she feels like she is being pulled after him, again until Toby finds her and breaks whatever hold he has on her.
The relief she feels is unusual, but the strangest thing happens when she tries to think about what has just happened, but putting it down to exhaustion after the last couple of days, she ignores it, the thing she cannot ignore is what happens every time her skin comes into contact with Toby’s, she knows he feels it too, but he makes excuses, as does she, however, as time progresses, more unusual things happen to her and Toby keeps on rescuing her, they cannot deny what is happening, but will Emma be able to figure out what is happening and who her mysterious stalker is, or will she be lost to the enchantments which seem to swirl around the small village and why is Toby keeping his distance when she knows their connection is growing stronger? The only way to find out the explanations and solve the mystery is to read along and find out with them.

I enjoyed this ghostly paranormal story. This is the second book in this series and can be read as a standalone but I highly suggest reading the first book as well. This is a well written story that came to life on every page. This author has continued to impress me with not only her writing skills but her attention to details. The characters give the story life and make you feel as if you are right there with them. This is a story about Trent and Tina. When Trent’s uncle passes, he inherits his mansion. What will happen when he realizes he got more than just a mansion? Tina is a real estate agent that broke up with Trent a few months before. She is a little surprised to hear from him that he wants to see the mansion. Is there a lot more to this mansion than anyone realizes, like life and death? This is such an engaging story that it kept me turning pages to the end. This was also fun and entertaining to read. I highly recommend this book and this author.

This is a new author for me and I look forward to seeing what is next for them. This is a well rounded story that has vampires and lots of action. This is a fast paced story that kept me turning pages to the end. The characters made the story feel real and they are connectable. I had no problem seeing myself with them. They made the story fun and entertaining to read. This is a story about a strong female hunter who is a nurse by day and a serial hunter by night. What will happen when she realizes that the person she is hunting is not only a vampire but hot to look at as well. Sometimes fate has a way of stepping in to determine your life mate or could there be more than one. I enjoyed seeing a strong female hunter and watching her grow throughout the story was great. She was my favorite and really made the story for me. I highly recommend this book.

Cursed Sight (Broderick Coven book 2) by A.J. Renee
4-stars
Cursed Sight by A.J. Renee is a truly entertaining paranormal read! From the very first chapter I was hooked, sitting on the edge of my seat waiting to get answers to all of my questions. This is the second book in this author’s Broderick Coven series, but it is also the first book of the series that I have read. In saying that I would suggest reading this series in order to get the full picture. However, I was quickly able to piece things together that I had missed.
Cursed Sight is the first paranormal read I’ve read this year so it was an absolute treat, I found this story to be detailed, addictive, captivating, gripping and unexpected, a true page turner. I ended up reading this book in one sitting as I couldn’t bring myself to stop reading, I felt so invested in these characters and I couldn’t wait to find out how everything played out.
Even though I didn’t read book 1 I would still highly suggest this book and series to others, it’s a fantastic storyline with great characters, so what more could you possibly want? I look forward to reading more from this author in the near future!

Rebecca Remains by Jessica Aiken-Hall is book that is steeped in mystery and intrigue. It will suck you in right from the word go, making it hard to put the book down. I couldn’t wait to unravel this mystery and figure out what was going on. The author does a great job of building the story up, pushing you a bit further and a bit further with each new discovery. I liked Tessa as a main character, I thought she brought the perfect balance to the book. It felt like it was with her the whole way, taking the journey alongside her. This really is an excellent book and one I would say you should try today!

I loved every page and connected immediately to the characters. The twists and turns keep you glued to the pages – I loved this book and cannot wait to read more from this author.
To say that I am addicted to this series is an understatement! This is my favorite book from the series so far. Meeting Oren and Teivel in the previous books, had me dying for a book for them and I was so excited to see their journey together. Teivel is an ass just like described, but you can definitely see the love he has for Oren. At first I didn’t think they were going to work with Teivel’s former companion Jaru hanging around and getting into trouble but they seem to make it work and they are happy. The introduction to the baby dragon is so sweet and the way they rallied together with the rest of their “family” to help eliminate the threat to the baby and themselves is so sweet. In the back of my mind I still want Teivel and Oren to be alone, I am hoping Jaru can find a life for himself and not be so dependent on the both of them. I CAN NOT wait until the next book, Larkspur sounds like a fantastically fun character and I can’t wait to see what happens. Naomi Valkyrie is quickly becoming one of my top favorite authors with this series alone!

Each book is so fast paced and keep you turning the pages as quick as you can. Its set as 6 episodes that can be read as a standalone but it is much better understood if you read each one. They are the stories of Zariya Chanji who is trying as hard as she can to solve his father’s murder along with his friend Konstantin who is a vampire. Zariya’s father leads the Veil Team who is as mysterious as it sounds. During all this searching there is a romance blossoming between Zariya and Chanji. Along with the budding romance you will encounter danger, paranormal action, mystery, drama, and mystery. Its a fun fast paced series full of short stories that will keep you on your feet. Omg where to start with this book. It was so good I couldn’t put it down. It had me gripped from the first page to the last and I never wanted it to end. The characters are so well written and the twists and turns are so good that you don’t ever see them coming.
Tessa has a gift. She can see and communicate with spirits. When a persistent spirit trys to communicate with her it turns Tessa’s life upside down. No one who is she thinks they are. Things she knows are facts turn out to be lies. The man she loves and marries has a secret side.
Should she trust the spirit trying to communicate with her? Who and what can she trust in her life? Is Tessa’s life in danger if she doesn’t listen to the warnings?
Sexy vampires with attitudes, a strong female hunter who holds the key to their demise, and a vampire race who knows her very life is a threat. Things would be easier if she didn’t love them.
By day, I’m an emergency room nurse—normal enough. By night, I stalk the streets, hunting serial killers that the police can’t seem to catch. Less normal, but way more fun in a twisted kinda way…until one of those serial killers turns out to be a freaking vampire. The only thing standing between me and certain death is a handsome stranger who also happens to come with fangs.
Twisted or not, even I didn’t see that one coming.
But vampires aren’t supposed to kill their own, and worse, my new friend did it for a human—it won’t be long until the dead vampire’s clan catches up to us. And though his hive of motorcycle riding alpha warriors each come with their own merits, not all four are friendly—some would rather throw me to our enemies than help me. It makes them especially nervous that their powers don’t seem to work when I’m nearby. But it soon becomes clear that we’ll need each other to get out of this alive.
Are my fighting skills any match for the supernatural? Can my hive of monsters defend me, and themselves, against the wrath of a species already on the verge of extinction? Why am I so drawn to all of them?
And why choose just one?
The Born of Darkness series is high heat reverse harem paranormal romance that features one badass female hunter, her four fated vampire mates, and provocative MFMMM scenes.
R.B. Fields is a clinical therapist turned dark romance author and has never shied away from the multitude of ways couples can enhance their experiences. She is currently using this knowledge to write about the rich tapestry of fantasy that women enjoy but don’t often discuss. She believes in healing, health, and girl power. Ethan and Serena – together, what a pair! The author puts to paper a fantastic paranormal tale that jumped off the page. I couldn’t put this book down and was only upset but the fact that it came to an end. Very well written with great characters and a solid plot. This author is a new addition to my library and one I am thankful I found. This paranormal romp was exactly what I didn’t know I was looking for. I was immediately captivated on page one by Emma and her plight. We are introduced to Toby quickly and I could tell immediately they both had more on their plate than they wanted anyone else to know. I was transfixed as I devoured the pages to find out what would happen next. If you like an original tale full of a fascinating storyline, great characters, and the paranormal, this book is absolutely a must read.

This book was mysterious and intriguing and romantic. There were definitely some twists and turns that I didn’t see coming. I really enjoyed how the author grabbed me and brought me into the story so much so that I couldn’t put it down. This is the first book I have read by this author and I’m glad I decided to give it a try because I found her writing to be unique and entertaining. Emma and Toby’s characters really brought this story to life. Toby has secrets from his past and Emma also has her own past, but there is no denying the attraction between these two. There is more to this story than meets the eye and I enjoyed the adventure, but I don’t want to give anything away. This is a good read and I recommend it.

This is my first book by Kat Caulberg and definitely will not be my last. When I start reading a new author I am always hesitant at the beginning, but this story was totally different. The first page until the last word held my attention so intently. The plotline kept the story moving. There was not a single point that I could put the book down. The characters really make this story great. They are fully developed and complex in nature. This book is about Emma and Toby. Emma has moved to England and does not understand what is going on with herself. .She has settled into a country village but there some strange happenings going around town. Then there was Toby. Toby has a secret. He would like to leave in the past. Toby does not know what to do when Emma walks into his world. There is just something about the two of them together that makes everything so right. Will Emma find out the secrets of Toby’s past? Will Toby find out Emma’s past? Will they become a couple? I highly recommend this book.

5 Stars Titanian’s Phoenix: Titanian Chronicles by Victoria Saccenti
Titanian’s Phoenix is a fantasy/romance that I absolutely loved reading. I loved the story and the characters. I needed an adventure and this didn’t disappoint. I found myself lost in the pages and couldn’t stop until I finished. There’s action, mythical creatures, magic and romance . Maya and Soren have a strong connection from the get go . Maya always thought she was normal. Her grandmother used to tell her stories or so she thought that’s what they were. When they are kidnapped she learns of a whole nother life she only thought existed in the stories she was told. Find out what happens next in this absolute must read. This is definitely one I’m going to re-read. Im looking forward reading more from this Author.

This was a great read, with plenty of both old and new world fantasy, magical beings and powers, and tons of action. The worldbuilding is incredible and the descriptions are so vivid. I loved the idea of Maya and Soren supposedly fated to be mates but whatever their concerns, their romance is timeless, even with all of the action and adventure they go through as well. The other characters are also well-developed. This is definitely a page-turner read.
Hell In A Handbasket (Life is Hell #3) by Naomi Valkyrie is a paranormal fantasy romance story. Naomi has found her voice and stride and is producing some great things with her writing such as this book which is my favourite so far. I think I say that with every new book but it’s true it just keeps on getting better. As this is book three in the series the characters feel like old friends and some new ones too. It is so easy to laugh out loud at their antics. Naomi’s talented narrative and her characters are delightful. I’ve said it before but it’s an original storyline that is a good strong storyline. I love this well woven multi layered tale and series that is so easy to feel as though you are a part of it.

Black Dog Rising by Kat Caulberg is a paranormal fantasy story. This dark tale is full of secrets and mystery. Kat has given us a plot that is enticing and is enriched with fae lore. She has cleverly woven in all the elements to give the reader an experience and not just a read.
Emma has fled her home and hopes to find refuge in England from a vindictive ghost. Only there is more at stake here where fairies are whispers and a hellhound is prevalent. Not only that but there is a four hundred year old curse and sees Emma in more trouble than ever.
Throw in some chemistry that is palpable when Emma is drawn to Toby who has as much baggage if not more than she. He is a lot mysterious, strangely detached and a little protective.

Carrie Pulkinen is a paranormal romance author who has always been fascinated with things that go bump in the night. Of course, when you grow up next door to a cemetery, the dead (and the undead) are hard to ignore. Pair that with her passion for writing and her love of a good happily-ever-after, and becoming a paranormal romance author seems like the only logical career choice.
Before she decided to turn her love of the written word into a career, Carrie spent the first part of her professional life as a high school journalism and yearbook teacher. She loves good chocolate and bad puns, and in her free time, she likes to read, drink wine, and travel with her family.

As a child, Courtney always had aspirations of being a writer. She participated in journalism in school. At home, she wrote short stories, poetry and filled diary pages. Somewhere along the line becoming an adult took priority over her writing and she went to work in business operations.
Now as a mother to three beautiful children, she tells them all the time to follow their dreams, be whatever they want. Those lessons reminded her how much she loved writing. She finally opened the door to making writing a real priority in her life.
Living outside of Portland, Oregon she loves the green and beauty Oregon offers. When she’s not matching wits with her children, her crazy Siberian Husky or her bi-polar cats, she enjoys binge reading, hikes and touring wineries. Courtney and her husband, the love of her life, enjoy traveling the world whenever they can get a free moment. And cruises….she loves cruising. She’s especially fond of life, laughter and sarcasm – and she’s excited to share all of that and more with her readers!
