Winter’s Wolf: The Cursed book 1 by Lou Grimes is a 5 star read.
Louvette Lynskey has been expelled from another school for fighting, so as her and her mother are planning on moving to another town they are approached by a lawyer for the grandfather Louvette never knew existed, he tell them that her grandfather Wilder has passed away and left everything to her. They decide to move to Wilder’s home and start fresh, attending another new school Louvette meets Arsen, who knows more about Louvette’s family than she does, but there are other secrets that are revealed to her but she’s left not knowing who she can trust.
This is the debut novel by this author and it was amazing, the storyline was well thought out and the characters really were easy to connect with, I can’t wait for book 2.

Winter’s Wolf by Lou Grimes

The first couple chapters took me a bit, but once I got through that the book got so much better. Louvette and her mother Sarah are struggling and having to move often due to Louvette’s propensity to get into fights at school. This all changes when they are given the chance to start over due to a death in Louvette’s family. The new chance isn’t just a new home but a different life all together. As Louvette tries to be a better daughter and not get into fights at school, she finds some amazing friends with amazing secrets that also relate to her anger issues. The story gets you and keeps you guessing what will they learn next.

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Its not like I don’t already have enough series that I must keep up with, but, Winter’s Wolf (The Cursed Series Book 1) by Lou Grimes has been added to the list. This is a great shifter story and if the next ones are as good as this one this will shape up to be a really good series. The characters are all interesting and well tailored. Although there are many characters the focus is on the main ones with just enough information to start your anticipation for the next book in this really excellent series. The romance between Louvette and Arsen is very palpable and so very sweet. Some good clean love without the icky factor, may be what I love about this book the most. A very enjoyable read.

Grimes is a new author for me and I loved every page of this book. Although intended for a YA audience, it is so well written I believe readers of all ages (including this middle age woman) will thoroughly enjoy this paranormal adventure. Louvette is a strong and feisty character that I immediately like from the first page. She has fire and spirit and I immediately wanted to know more about her and her relationship with her mom and her background. You knew it was going to be interesting. But I never quite anticipated each turn the story took. I really enjoyed the story pace and the author’s ability to keep things fresh. Fantasy lovers – this is a must read!

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This is the third book in this series. I loved this one just as much as the previous books. This is a story that has well developed characters that bring the story to life. I had no issues connecting to them with each page I turned. What will happen when you have a vampire who wants to disappear but is intrigued by a witch and a strong bond? She gave him her blood to save him but will he be able to save her? I highly recommend reading this book to find out what happens between this vampire and witch. They have awesome chemistry and really make this story what it is. I also enjoyed how the secondary characters are supportive and add to the story. I highly suggest checking out this book and this author.

Dead Magic (The Sanctuary Chronicles, Book 3)
By India Kells
5 out of 5 stars

I loved reading the book Dead Magic (The Sanctuary Chronicles, Book 3) by India Kells. It is a paranormal/romance story that pulled me in from the very beginning and didn’t let me go until the final page. I loved reading about the characters of Finn O’Malley and Violet Shaughnessy. Finn is one of the oldest vampires to walk the earth. He finds himself ready to put an end to himself. Then a call comes out of the blue, the one who will have Finn rushing to her side, Violet. Violet is a witch whose parents were killed by a vampire. That makes her question her involvement and feelings for Finn. Both Finn and Violet can’t seem to stay away from each other. There is a definite connection and pull towards each other. They find themselves working together to find out who has condemned Violet. What does the future hold for Violet and Finn? Will Finn save Violet? Will Violet convince Finn that their love is worth living for? Read this book to find out. This is a story that had me wondering what was going to happen next and how it all would end up. I grew to care about Finn and Violet with each chapter that I read and wanted them to be happy. Other characters interact with Violet and Finn who I enjoyed reading about as they are friends and helpful to them. There are surprises that I didn’t see coming as well as some very steamy romance. This is an amazing story that has unforgettable characters. I highly recommend reading it.

Winter’s Wolf by Lou Grimes is the first book in The Cursed series. This is a strong start to a new series with interesting characters.
This whole book was designed to have an intriguing feel about it. From the inheritance to Louvette’s missing father. I thought the characters we strong, which helped with the story. They held their own and made reading about them so easy. I wanted to know what was going to happen to them.
The book was well written and fast paced. It was an exciting story and one I really enjoyed. I am looking forward to the next book in the series.

Tangled Fates (Tangled Magic Book 2) by Denise D. Young. While I know this is book two I did read it first without confusion but I’ll definitely be going back to read book one soon. This was my first read by this author and I loved definitely be back for more. Sometimes I find it hard to really sink into a paranormal type story but I had absolutely no problem with this book, I immediately found myself lost within its pages and not wanting to find my way out. The characters are well developed and easy to connect with, they truly pulled me into their world and I was hooked from start to finish. It’s on the shorter side but it doesn’t hinder the storyline in any way. It’s a well thought out storyline and paced nicely. Can’t wait to see where the author takes readers next. Four big stars and highly recommended!

Winter's Wolf (The Cursed, #1)Winter’s Wolf by Lou Grimes
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I had no idea what to expect when I picked up Winter’s Wolf, the first of The Cursed Series from Lou Grimes. This is Lou’s debut novel so was not only new to me but this was a new everything experience. Normally I am not drawn to shapeshifter or werewolf novels easily but this one just grabbed my attention with the teasers and blurb mixed with that gorgeous cover, that I had to know what happened in this book asap!

This book was a quick and fast paced read that never left me on a boring note and had me reading faster and faster to see how the book would culminate. I was so happy that this book included so many genres really that it was not completely consumed by the fact that it was a werewolf story. The characters are strong and fierce and Lou writes them with a conviction that makes them come to life and feel very real. I loved how this ended and look forward to seeing what the next few novels will bring about!

A cursed witch.

A vampire on his last mission.

A love that must defy the odds to survive.

As one of the oldest vampires to walk the earth, Finn O’Malley has lived long enough and is now ready to put an end to it all, to seek solace in oblivion. Just as he makes the decision to disappear, the only woman who ever stirred his curiosity, and the one woman he should avoid, calls for his help.

Witch Violet Shaughnessy knew becoming involved with a vampire was the last thing she should do, especially as her parents had been murdered by one. There was something about Finn O’Malley that called to her though, and she couldn’t keep away, even giving him her blood to save his life. Through darkness and despair, her magic cursed, and good and evil fighting for dominance inside her, Violet reaches out to Finn through their blood connection, knowing he’s the only one that can save her.

With the clock ticking, Finn and Violet work to defeat the unseen and unknown foe that condemned Violet, only to discover they are stronger together than they are apart. With their lives on the line and pulled into a world of dark magic, Finn is confronted with all the reasons he longed for death, while Violet makes him realize there may be one thing powerful enough to save them, and give him the will to live after all—love.

Winter's Wolf (The Cursed, #1)Winter’s Wolf by Lou Grimes
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Winter’s Wolf (The Cursed Book 1) by Lou Grimes is a YA paranormal story that has a bit of everything. The story is so vivid that it takes you away from everything and draws you into the world of shifters. I love a good paranormal story and this fit the bill nicely with murder and mystery, drama and suspense, action and adventure, the paranormal, shifters/werewolves, self-discovery, family, friendship, romance and more. I enjoyed the characters and found myself laughing at their banter. The story and the characters were well written about romance, friendships and family. There is so much more story to be told and I can’t wait to get my hands on the second book.

Winter’s Wolf (The Cursed Series Book 1) by Lou Grimes – Review by Rosanna Ingram

Winter's Wolf (The Cursed, #1)Winter’s Wolf by Lou Grimes
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Louvette has been kicked out of many schools for fighting. She doesn’t start the fights, but she isn’t going to be anyone’s punching bag. After getting kicked out of the most recent school, an attorney arrives saying that she is the beneficiary of her grandfather’s estate since her father is presumed dead. Louvette has never met or even known the name of her father or grandfather, as her mother does not talk about them at all. Once they move into the Blackwood mansion (which is now her new last name thanks to stipulations of the will), Louvette’s life changes in ways she never thought of. She has vivid dreams that she can’t seem to shake. She caught the attention of Arsen on her first day in town, and he is determined to guide her through all these changes. As she learns more about her past, Louvette must decide who she can trust and who she can’t. The story ends on a bit of a cliffhanger…as there are many questions that have no answers yet.

I found myself drawn into the story and want to read the next book when it comes out to get more of the story. I enjoyed watching Louvette learn about her past and who she really is. Her friendship with Cara is great to read and her relationship with Arsen is full of potential. Like I said, I enjoyed the story and am looking forward to the next book.

Tangled Fates (Tangled Magic #2)Tangled Fates by Denise D. Young
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I give Tangled Fates (Tangled Magic Book 2) by Denise D. Young, 5 stars.

This is such a wonderful example of Paranormal Romance! I do not see fox shifters often in books, so I was really happy to see one here. Not to mention that Vi is also pretty unique. All of the characters in this story are good — they feel very real and relatable. This made a great story even more magical for me. I cannot wait to see more of these characters.

This is my first book in this series and I did not feel lost at all. The author lightly goes over what happened previously and even though I want to go back and read book one, I understood enough that it is not technically needed. Some authors do not do too well in this. This story itself grabbed me in the beginning of the book and I could not put it down until I was finished.

If you are a fan of Paranormal Romance with magical creatures and a story woven into the most captivating story, this book is for you.

Winter's Wolf (The Cursed, #1)Winter’s Wolf by Lou Grimes
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Winter’s Wolf is the first book in The Cursed series and debut novel for Lou Grimes. This story sets the series off to a great start- and is definitely a series I will be following closely.
The book is so much more than just a paranormal young adult werewolf story- there is a bit of drama, murder, mystery, suspense, action, adventure, the paranormal, shifters/werewolves, self-discovery, family, friendship, romance, and more.
The world building is richly detailed, and Lou Grimes has a very descriptive and dynamic style to her writing. If this book is anything to go by, the rest of the series is set to be great.
And did I mention….. WEREWOLVES!!! #winning #youhadmeatwerewolf
Can’t wait to see what happens from here.

Thank you, Lou Grimes!

4 stars!

This is the second book in the series, it can be read as a standalone, I was able to follow along easily but I will definitely be going back to check out the first book. In this book we meet Vi, a witch and Aiden, a fox shifter. Both are on a journey to break a curse within the coven. Aiden is put through some pretty intense things with his own family forcing him to drink a potion to hide his fox side, then on top of that he finds out his cousin Evan is in rough shape. He goes to the aid of his cousins Nick and Evan which is where he meets Vi. Vi feels somewhere inside her that her and Aiden have a connection, but it seems like she pushes him away for most of the book until finally that connection is brought to life. This story is magical, romantic, and crazy for what Aiden’s cousin’s family is doing and trying to do to their world. I can’t wait to see what will happen next in this series.

Heart of Malice (Alice Worth Book 1) by Lisa Edmonds was one terrific book. The characters are all very well developed and so very unique. The plot was very well thought out, every action the characters take, and the rationales behind those actions. The story in and of itself is mind snagging but the thirst for more is tantalizing. Be warned there is mature content to this story, not so much that you are constantly skipping through it but it is in there. So be forewarned. Great action, great dialogue. Worth a good read.

By Lisa Edmonds
5 out of 5 stars

I loved reading the book Heart of Malice (Alice Worth Book 1) by Lisa Edmonds. It is a story that pulled me in from the beginning and didn’t let me go until the final page. The story includes magic, shifters, mages, mystery, and danger. The book is written in such a way that I felt like I was right there with the characters. I loved reading about Alice. She is a PI of the Supernatural. Alice is intelligent, strong, and fiercely independent. She doesn’t like to rely on anyone but herself. The story finds her and Malcolm, a ghost with a past just like herself, on a mission to find an object of power. What happens next has Alice looking for someone with a dangerous secret and an unknown agenda. Will Alice find the object of power? How much danger is Alice in? What does her future hold? Read this book to find out. This story has both an amazing plot and unforgettable characters. The author does a wonderful job in world building and I loved reading the story of what has happened in the past to both Alice and Malcolm. Other characters are introduced and some of them are friendly and helpful while others have their plans and will do anything to make sure their agenda comes to pass. This is an exciting and entertaining story that you will not want to miss out on. I highly recommend reading it.

I enjoyed this paranormal-fantasy story. This is a well developed story that brings fantasy to a new level. I was pulled in right from the beginning and kept engaged to the end. I had no problems connecting with the characters. Alice has a past and magic has been part of that. Now that she has run from that past, she starts a life over again. She is a private investigator that takes on cases of the supernatural. She is hired to find a mysterious object that has some special powers. The story takes on survival of power and life. There is so much going on in this story that you will not want to miss it. Find out what happens as Alice as she walks a thin line between the present and the past. I highly recommend this book.
