A Journey into Terror

☆☆☆☆☆
A suspenseful thriller. Never be who you are not.

Madison and her 7 year old daughter are living in a homeless shelter. Been there most of Terri’s life. Madison wants so much more for her daughter as well as herself. Madison is in no way a lazy drugged out homeless person. She tries all she can to make a better living for her little family. As her life is about to change for the better, everything comes crashing down. Has she made another mistake in her choices?

R. G. Miller has written another tense and suspenseful story. This is a real page turner. He is direct and to the point, in his telling of this story. He describes his characters clear enough you can picture them in your minds eye. At one point I smelt something burning, and it scared me half to death. No worries though, I had just burnt dinner. I got that caught up in reading. No Spoilers here! I hope you enjoy this book as much as I did.

I Am Kimberly Cole: A Journey into Terror, is much like all of RG Miller’s other stories. It is twisted and takes you to places you never imagined. I am left stumped with the ending though. This book did not end how I expected. Reading the description of the book, it seems innocent enough, but from reading so many of Miller’s books, I knew it would have a abnormal psychology twist. However, I didn’t imagine to this level! I don’t want to give away the plot, as there are many twists, but I do recommend reading it. There is so much action and intense scenes, I didn’t want to put it down. I read the whole thing in less than a day.
Madison Edwards is a single mom, living in a homeless shelter in NYC. She is trying to do what is best for her daughter, to give her a good life. When she meets Kimberly Cole, she thinks she hit the jackpot, and could tell her life was about to change. However, it didn’t change in the way she hoped or expected. More for the worse than for the better. Meeting Kimberly is the beginning of a series of bizarre and tragic events, for Madison and her daughter Terri.

OMG, OMG, OMG that is all I say about this book, I am Kimberly Cole : A Journey into Terror by R G Miller is not to be turned down.

This book has all the characteristics of a R G Miller book, thrilling story lines, characters you either want to look after or are repulsed against but it is like a horror movie although it is scaring the crap out of you, you have to read on.

I feel if I tell you anything about the story I will just ruin the read for you as this is a short novel but still packs the punch. The story involves a homeless single family and what happens to them when they meet Kimberly Cole.

I have been a fan of R G Miller ever since The Twins was loaded onto my e-reader and have soaked up everything he as written going forward. I would recommend all his books to anybody who love a suspense thriller with a twist of the evil thrown in. I can’t wait for the next book to come along.

I Am Kimberly Cole: A Journey into Terror was a creepy 5 star read.
This book definitely has some twisted moments and scenes that really threw me off.

This is a story that is told in multiple POV’s. At first I wasn’t sure how they were all connected until there was a huge twist and Madison meets Kimberly while out clubbing.

Madison and her daughter Terri are homeless and have been living in shelters for years. Madison is trying to make enough money to get them into their own home. Meeting Kimberly definitely changes their lives.

Just as Madison thinks things are going great for them there is a huge twist. A twist that causes Madison to impersonate Kimberly. What Madison doesn’t realize is that she has just put her and her daughter in serious twisted danger. Kimberly had some serious skeletons in her closet and Madison just opened the door.

There were some really way out their scenes that creeped me out and had me wondering what the heck I just read. All of the secondary characters were great and the ending was a WTF kind of moment, what a way to end it. I’m wondering if R.G. Miller will be continuing this story. This was a quick read that really pulls you in.

Evil Genius….That is one of the first thoughts I had about this author when I got over my textbook tantrum after reading the ending of this book. Well, after I reread the last page like 17 times…

I just don’t know what to say so I’ll go the easy route… This is not my first book by this author, everything I’ve read so far has had me all kinds of messed up but nothing and I mean NOTHING has messed with my mind like this little gem. I will not say one word about any plot specifics..That wouldn’t be fair to anyone that chooses to read this book. I will say though that I think I’m going to read it again. Not because I need to to see if I liked it, but because now Im scanning through my mind wondering what in the hell I missed…LOL I can’t figure it out, and I can only hope that there is another book coming, Please Please let there be another book, and the title would be pretty obvious I think. I must have more, not that it was an easy read in some parts but that didn’t matter, I could not put it down and the last 25% or so I swear I was reading in twice my normal speed.

I cant believe a book that was only 100 and some pages could be so full of as much content as this one was. Im almost speechless and will be thinking about this I just know for a few days trying to figure it all out!

Evil Genius…..I can almost picture him when he typed the last word of this book sitting there with an evil grin saying yes That will do…..

I was hooked a few books ago, but this one….you have a new Forever Fan RG Miller!!!

Brilliant, shocking, scary, eerie, mind shattering and did I say Brilliant…

Astonishing! Brilliant! Terrifying! Here is the thing… I am beyond hooked on R.G. Miller’s novels. I have been ever since I picked up his debut novel, The Twins. That particular novel gave me nightmares and played with my subconscious long after I finished the last pages. The makings of a great thriller novel. Each one following it seemed to outdo the one before, an almost impossible task. When I saw that he had a new one out with new characters I was beyond excited and I was chomping at the bit to get it in my hand. My only complaint is that this was so short! Don’t worry, it did not hinder this novel at all. For only being 93 pages, this sucker packed one hell of a punch!

I am so torn. I want badly to give you a glimpse into this novel, to reel you in and make you grab this book and all of Miller’s novels with a one-click fever, you would not be one bit disappointed. I also can’t bare the idea of spoiling anything either. Being short it feels as if everything is integral. I do feel as if I could share a snippet, one of my favorite spots in the book. Perhaps you will be persuaded to go and grab at least this one, if not all his available titles. It is coming up on the season of cozy blankets, hot drinks, spooky reads, and cooler weather. This may be just what is missing from your kindle collection???

It was 3:00 AM when Madison carried her child into their hotel room. She lay Terri on the bed and removed her clothes. Afterward, Madison walked back into the living room. She poured herself a drink, then sat on the couch. I don’t believe in al that mess. Voodoo and spells, she thought. “Nonsense.” She stood up and walked towards the balcony. She stopped at the door. Why did he do it? And why did he did it in front of Terri? Maddison thought about the smell of burnt flesh. Why did she smell like that? Madison shook the thoughts from her mind. “It’s impossible…” The words that Timothy had shouted at her before his body burst into tiny bits of flames all seemed like a dream. I imagined the whole thing. “That Toby character must’ve drugged my food or something, had me seeing things,” she said aloud.

Madison finished off her drink, then she poured herself another. Before she had finished her second drink; Madison was sound asleep. She dreamt of the same elderly man. The man, who seemed to be her father, was yelling at her about getting a job. “Kimberly,” he shouted, “I am not your personal bank. You will get yourself a job and pull your own weight.” Then the dream switched. Madison saw herself standing in a bathroom. She was crying. She looked at her reflection in the mirror, her face was that of Kimberly Cole. Madison popped out of her dream drenched in sweat. The dream had frightened her. Madison looked at her watch. It was 4:30 am. She staggered a little as she made her way towards the balcony. She took a deep breath of the warm, night air. “Freakin’ dream,” she muttered. She sat in on the balcony chairs and stared at the stars, she bit her fingernails ashes thought about the two nightmares she’d had. “What the hell did she do-¬ “Suddenly, Madison stood straight up. “She burned down the house, killing her parents and two little sisters. Timothy was burned trying to save Tiffany and Emma. At the funeral he said that he knew what I-“Madison froze. She stood up and paced the balcony. “How do I know that? What the hell is going on?” Madison’s heart was beating rapidly. She ran her hand up and down her arm. She felt herself getting dizzy. Madison sat back down and took long, deep breaths to calm her nerves. “How the hell did I know that?” she asked herself again. “Kimberly must’ve- no, she didn’t tell me anything about her life.” Madison stood up again. She walked over to the railing. She peeked into her bedroom to make sure Terri was okay.

Madison ambled towards the bathroom and sat down on the toilet seat. She buried her face in her hands. Madison sat there for five minutes pondering over her recent revelation. “How did I know that?” She stood up and walked over toward the mirror. Half of her face was that of a friend, Kimberly Cole, the other half was her own. Madison gasped and threw her hands up to her moth. She stumbled backward and bumped into the toilet. In the mirror, her fingers were long and slender; there was god fingernail polish on them. Madison’s left eye was blue, and the other was brown, and her breast looked larger. Her blood ran cold. She covered her face with her hands and shook her head rapidly. “This can’t be possible.” When she looked at the mirror again, she saw her own reflection.

I Am Kimberly Cole is a new, gripping story from R.G Miller. It is a psychological thriller with a supernatural/paranormal overtone to it. There is plenty of suspense, heart-pounding events, and twists- that had me guessing the whole way through. This is a short story- but in no way was lacking in intensity. It is one of those stories that I feel you are better off going into blind and let the author and the story speak for themselves.
Another great read from Mr. Miller- I wonder what he has in store for us next?

Thank you, Mr. Miller!

The Twins: The Complete Trilogy: An Iris Williams & Annette Toni Novel (The Twins #1-3) by R.G. Miller – Review by Heather Bahm

The Twins: The Complete Trilogy: An Iris Williams & Annette Toni NovelThe Twins: The Complete Trilogy: An Iris Williams & Annette Toni Novel by R.G. Miller
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

The Twins: The Complete Trilogy, by R.G. Miller, features: (1) The Twins, (2) Stacey, and (3) I. Williams. This is a psychological thriller that will have you trying to catch your breath, the suspense was amazing throughout each of the books.

The Twins – book 1:
Prepare yourself for this twisted psychological thriller, The Twins – a debut novel by author R.G. Miller. This story encompasses the story of twin sisters, who at the age of thirteen witness unspeakable horrors leaving the girls wanting nothing but revenge. In turn of that fate these girls lived, they’ve turned into the type of monsters that destroyed their lives.

This book is completely outside of the types of books I would normally read, but I was interested after reading the synopsis to see what more this story held. R.G. Miller is very graphic is the horrid events that unfold at the hands of the twins. The author has included a full cast of characters in the start of this series to include the detectives working the cases created by the twins, as well as, additional supporting cast of individuals that are interlinked in ways we would not have anticipated when we begin the story.

For a debut novel, R.G. Miller did a good job of setting the stage, building the characters and adding depth to the story. As we come upon the end of the story, the author has clearly set the stage for the next set leaving us to wonder what could possibly come now after what we just experienced.

Stacey – book 2:
Stacey: The Twin is the second book of psychological thriller The Twins, written by author R.G. Miller. This story picks up a few weeks after the end of the previous book.

“If you have to kill one, kill the other also.” That’s what psychologist Dr. Susan Patterson told Detective Isis Williams. Now, at the start of this story, we’re left with one twin, Stacey, after Isis was forced to shoot and kill Jannifer. Stacey is sent to a facility for the criminally insane. Enter a sadistic rapist/murderer in Harlem, targeting middle age women. Isis & Toni continue on their hunt to capture this latest murder whilst Stacey escapes. The words Dr. Patterson previously told Isis may now come back to haunt her.

R.G. Miller continues with her graphic and detailed story telling at the hands of the newest sadist. We lost several characters from the previous book, but as we’re aware, new ones have now been added to the game. This is a seriously intense read that challenges any horror house scare that could be imagined. The author has a wicked imagination that they are sharing with the reader as we delve deeper into Stacey mentality, as well as, following along with the work being done by Detectives Isis and Toni – to include the further development of their relationship. This author isn’t afraid to add twists into the storyline to keep you on the edge of your seat not knowing what to anticipate next.

I. Williams – book 3:
I. Williams is the third and final psychological thriller book in the Twins Trilogy. This trilogy is comprised of the author’s debut novel The Twins. This series is elaborate, it’s descriptive and it’s insanely intense. The following phrase echos as the books are read: “If you have to kill one, kill the other also.” Those are the words that haunt Detective Williams to her everlasting regret. The author’s writing continues to grow with each book, continuing to share that dark and passionate writing that was first read in The Twins.

Per the author’s synopsis for this book it has been 3 months since Detective Williams has been back to work and she’s on extended medical leave – struggling with depression due to the case involving serial killer Stacey McHill. Babies are being taken during the day and replaced with realistic looking dolls and Isis’ great-niece is one of the victims making the case extremely personal. Stacey offers the baby’s life in exchange for the lives of Detective Williams and Detective Toni, Isis’ partner and lover.

This final book of the trilogy provided us with the final chapters for the twins and the horrors that evoked. Everything you think you should expect is not what you will be given in the end for this – the author will have you hooked and emotionally charged after finishing with dark & intense read. Heart stopping, breath taking sequences that chilled me to the bone. Honestly, this series is not what I would typically read, but I am seriously in awe after finishing these well written books.

The Twins (The Twins #1-3)The Twins by R.G. Miller

This series is an adrenaline-fueled, fast-paced, thrilling ride from the first page right through till the last word. The book/series contains a shocking, fascinating, dark, and powerful storyline/s that will make you feel like you are sitting on a knifes edge while reading them. What a great introduction to Mr. Miller’s work- three books in one. If you like a fantastic psychological thriller- then this is the book/series for you.

The series contains the following books-
THE TWINS: BOOK ONE
4 Stars
The Twins is the first book in a series of psychological thrillers, and debut novel by R.G Miller. The story takes us on a journey of innocence lost and cracks open a window onto the minds of two young serial killers.
The book opens on two young girls, Jannifer and Stacey McHill- excitedly preparing for their thirteenth birthday with their beloved parents and friends. Their party was the stuff that little girl’s dreams are made of, a perfect, magical day- or so they thought. After preparing for bed that night, two home invaders turn their perfect world upside down- bringing unmentionable horrors into their once idyllic lives.
Their parents are bound and tortured for hours, eventually succumbing to the trauma and injury inflicted on them. The twins are also tortured and subjected to unbelievably gruesome violence, but somehow manage to survive the ordeal.
In an almost catatonic state they are admitted to a psychiatric hospital under the care of Dr. Susan Patterson, a specialist in Abnormal Psychology. They remain at the hospital, in her care for the next three years- until their maternal Aunt Jackie, ignores the Doctors advice and takes them to Harlem to live with her.
On the girls sixteenth birthday, a mutilated body is found on a rooftop in Harlem and the days that follow only bring more deaths- the killings shocking even the most hardened officers of the NYPD.
It is up to Detective Iris Williams and her new partner Andrew Taylor, to investigate the murders, hunt the serial killers and try to bring them to justice before they can kill again. But these two young girls are more clever, dangerous and elusive than expected- bringing the hunt to Detective Williams own doorstep. Can Detectives Williams and Taylor find The Twins before they can kill again, or is it too late? Will the Twins escape?
This book had an exciting, gripping, dark and thrilling synopsis- I avidly read every word of this intense story. And although I did enjoy the overall story, I felt that the author didn’t build enough suspense or tension in the story. Don’t get me wrong; I was interested and entertained- but with the anticipation and promise of a spine chilling, twisted and heart pounding read- I felt a little let down when it failed to deliver on the potential.
The author writes really well and has obviously done a lot of research on anatomy, CSI procedures and police investigative procedures, as well as psychiatric conditions. The scene setting was intricately detailed in some areas, but in others they were skirted over or barely got a mention- which gave some portions of the book a rushed and slightly lurching feel.
The author also explores a lot of other topics in the book from PTSD, sexuality, addiction, grief and vengeance; to erotic placidity, anger management and Excited Delirium; just to name a few. There seems to be nothing off limits or too taboo. The author had the potential to take this story into the literary stratosphere- but again, the promise was there, but it just didn’t quite make it.
I do congratulate Mr. Miller for an entertaining and intriguing debut novel. I really did enjoy the story- I just wanted more.

STACEY: BOOK TWO
5 Stars
Stacey: The Twin is the second book in the trilogy ‘The Twins’ by R.G Miller – it is a gripping psychological thriller that is extremely intense, dark and disturbing.
This instalment of the story begins a few weeks after the last book left off- where the citizens of New York were held in the grip of terror, as two of the youngest serial killers the world has ever known, went on a sadistic killing spree across the city- triggering the biggest manhunt in the city’s history.
Detective Iris Williams, the lead investigator on the case, had used every resource at her disposal to try and apprehend Jannifer and Stacey McHill. But the two young girls proved to be more dangerous, cunning, and elusive than anticipated- leaving a trail of gruesome murders in their wake. Even their psychologist Dr. Susan Patterson is at a loss as to what the two may do next; advising Detective Williams that “If you have to kill one, kill the other also.”
After finally tracking down the pair, Iris and her partner Annette end up in a bloody and nightmarish confrontation with the twins- Iris is forced to shoot Jannifer McHill, which results in her death. Stacey McHill is apprehended and locked up in a facility for the criminally insane. Iris couldn’t bring herself the shoot Stacey as well and hopes that this decision won’t come back to haunt her.
Now, there is a new threat prowling the streets of Harlem, in the form of a sadistic rapist and murderer who is targeting middle aged women. Fear begins to grip the city once more and Iris and Annette are assigned the investigation- tasked with solving the case as quickly as possible, before any more lives are lost.
As they are in the midst of this investigation, an electrical blackout provides Stacey McHill with the perfect opportunity to escape and so once more she is out in the city somewhere, bristling with anger and hell bent on revenge for her sister’s death. Dt. Williams, Dt. Toni and the rest of their precinct are all targets, and Stacey will do whatever it takes to wreak her vengeance on them all.
Iris and Annette now have two psychotic killers loose in the city and must use all their experience, training, skills, grit and determination to track them down and get them off the streets. With the body counts mounting and their investigation being thwarted at every turn by the cunning and resourceful killers, the chase begins to erode Iris and Annette’s confidence and has them on the back foot. Will the detectives be able to solve both cases before more lives are lost?
As the lines are blurred between being the hunter and the hunted, this story will fray every one of your nerves and leave you gasping, as you frantically devour the pages to try to discover what will happen next.
This book is much darker and more twisted than the first. The storyline and characters seemed to be more developed and we got a lot more information, backstory and details in this book.
It is fast paced, and it had me hanging onto my seat as I was thrown headlong into the thrilling story. There were moments where I was in shock and awe at the gruesome details that were depicted- there probably should be a warning at the beginning of the book- because some of the scenes are horrific, truly dark and entirely disturbing.
It ends on a cliff-hanger that had my mind reeling as to what would happen in the next book.
This book is even better than the first, Mr. Miller has really hit his stride with this instalment.

I. Williams: BOOK THREE
5 Stars
I. Williams is the riveting and hair-raising conclusion to The Twins trilogy by R.G Miller. If you haven’t read the other books yet, I recommend that you do before starting this one- as they introduce the main characters and lay down all of the backstory- which will make this reading experience even more enjoyable.
Ever since Stacey McHill escaped three months ago, Iris has been on stress leave from her job- her behaviour is erratic, she’s become paranoid, her anger management issues are worsening, she isn’t sleeping properly, has lost her appetite, has little regard for her personal appearance or hygiene, has stopped attending her psychologist appointments, is drinking- and slipping deeper and deeper into a depression.
Iris feels guilty and ashamed that Stacey slipped out of her clutches again and it’s almost more than she can bear. She feels like the laughing stock of the whole precinct and the embarrassment is driving her crazy. Her deterioration is affecting her relationship and Annette is really concerned about her what will become of their relationship.
You see, Iris though she had killed Stacey, by shooting her twice in the chest. But in her haste to get to Annette who had been injured, Isis made the rookie mistake of not checking to see that Stacey was in fact dead, nor did she hand cuff her. So, Stacey was able get away. That day plays over and over in Isis’ mind and her character was disintegrating under the effects of Stacey McHill’s cunningness.
Going back to work Iris and Annette are placed on desk duty, which further undermines Iris’ mental state. All her emotional turmoil was wreaking havoc on her ability to function and do her job properly.
But somehow Iris needs to find a way to keep it all together and muster all her strength as a new, sinister and quite baffling case begins. Babies are being snatched from all over the city, in broad daylight, and replaced with incredibly life like dolls. Who is taking the babies and why are they being taken?
When Stacey McHill re-emerges and ramps up her terror campaign, Iris will need to keep her wits about her if she has any chance of saving her colleagues and the one’s she loves from the teenage maniac, hell bent on destroying them all. Isis is determined to catch Stacey, even if she has to break all the laws in the book to do so. Can Isis finally put an end to Stacey’s reign of terror, or will Stacey once again prove to be a formidable and elusive opponent?
Once again Mr. Miller didn’t disappoint, he has hit this one out of the park. What a way to end a fantastic series. I was completely engrossed in this fast-paced story, I couldn’t put it down- I had to find out what happened, and I was rooting for Iris and Annette to finally win out over Stacey.
Mr. Miller pulled the whole series together and wrapped it up really well, with this story. I finally got the closure I was looking for.

This series is such a chilling read, and I loved every moment! I really am looking forward to seeing what Mr. Miller will offer us up next.

Thank you, Mr. Miller, for an intense, riveting and twisted ride.

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

The Patient is An Iris Williams and Annette Toni Novel by R.G. Miller. This is a very suspenseful crime thriller. This is the fifth book of Mr. Miller’s that I have read, and having enjoyed his previous books, I was intrigued by what he would do with this story.
The book follows Detectives Iris Williams and Annette Toni, who we met in the other four books, as they take on this latest case. Iris and Annette are not only work partners, but partners in life and love. They have been through quite a lot together, especially after the events of the last book. Iris gave birth to their daughter and has accepted her new role as mother. Toni on the other hand has had difficulty in coming to terms with parenthood. This book explores more of their ‘personal’ life- as well as taking us on another mind-bending investigation.
This book is suspenseful, gripping and completely delivers and intense mystery, dramatic developments, and gripping intrigue. It is a worthy addition to the series and I am looking forward to the next book!

Thank you, Mr. Miller!

No Man Left Behind: An Iris Williams & Annette Toni Novel
By R.G. Miller

No Man Left Behind his R.G. Millers fourth book. Took a while for me to get into this book but once I did I found that the story was much better than I previously thought it would be. I thought that this book was going to be slow, but I did find in some parts that I was quite fast paced. On saying that though so me parts of this book did frustrate me but once I got past those areas I got straight back into the book. There are a few twists and turns which I feel really made this book, which in turn made it easy to continue reading it, as you just had to know what was coming next. This book centres around Iris Williams and Annette Toni. Iris and Annette have been promoted due to the success of their last case. The case they are now working on will change their lives in ways they could never imagine. Their new case is about a military man who was left behind enemy lines as his colleagues thought he was dead. This was a big mistake on their part! Please be aware that some parts of this book could trigger memories for some people. So please keep this in mind before picking up this story.

The Twins (The Twins #1) by R.G. Miller – Review by Erica Fish

The Twins (The Twins #1)The Twins by R.G. Miller
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This book is about twins, Stacey and Jannifer McHill that were part of a hideous rape. It is a story that is told through the eyes of Detective Isis Williams. She was assigned a case that had a horrible outcome due to rage. Detective Williams really found herself while working on this case. It is a book that has a couple of curve balls that you see but when it happens you still cannot believe it. Detective Williams was a hot headed woman. She is a lost soul. She really finds what really matters to her throughout this investigation. There is not a “quote” per say, but when she is feeling herself getting angry she starts throwing punches in the air to gain her composure. There are some males important to the story, but I felt Detective Annette Toni was an important character. When she calls Williams “babe” it was an important part to see the growth that Williams was going through.

R.G. Miller is an excellent story teller. He likes to throw little curve balls in the story. The fact that this was a thriller kept me on my toes. Although there were times there was a break away to the other story line and it made me reread a part because I thought I was lost. I love how he tells exactly what happens to the twins right before the last hurrah of the story. I would definitely recommend this story. It was a good read. I cannot wait for book 2.
