I was so excited to get my hands on the third book in this series! I was immediately drawn into the characters and their stories and could not put this book down. This is the first book that I have read from an author and she now has a new fan. This is a book from the series Lake Juniper. I have not read a male/ male romance in a long time but I’m so glad I picked this one up. I could not help but to fall in love with both of these characters. They both had some problems to work through but with the right person nothing is impossible. I read this book in one sitting and I can’t wait to read the next book of this series.
Elijah is a best sleeping author but he is now in a stump. He sees a writing workshop is available and he decides to go. Elijah meets a lot of romance writers and he feels like he doesn’t belong there. He is about to go but he meets a very handsome chef : Austin. They get to know each other and Austin has an idea to become a fake boyfriend for the holidays. Elijah thinks this is a great idea so he can get some inspiration for his new book. When they go to his family’s house for the holidays things start to heat up. Will Elijah get what wants for his new book or will get something he has never expected to see again, love?

As a child I always wanted to play detective, and so this book was right up my alley! I loved the characters and the way they played detective to solve the mystery! Looking forward to more in this series and sharing them with my daughter who also loves playing detective!

It is always a pleasure to read books by Sylvia Black. Especially this series. I’m telling you her storytelling is top notch with such a unique take on things.and Omg!!!! I was so looking forward to reading this one, after the last one I couldn’t wait for this release date! I know I said this before but I think Master Sardinia book is my new favorite book in the series 🤣🥰 just like the previous ones they are Spectacular, Super intense Vampire mafia romance that leaves you wanting more and more. With fated mates, enemies that turn to lovers, crazy danger, really steamy chemistry between Master Sardinia and Madria and Soo much more. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND reading not just this but the last 7. You’ll be in love with author 🥰 I can not wait until January, so I can get my hands on the next books.

Each book in this series just gets better and better! I devoured this in one sitting because I couldn’t get enough and needed to see what was going to happen between Forrest and Kiera. There is much drama, danger, suspense, action, and spice! I appreciate the fact that the author does not rely on the steamy scenes to make the bulk of the book. The sensuality of Keira and Forrest’s relationship adds dimension to an already amazing storyline. You could read this as a standalone if you wanted, but getting the full background is always the best so I recommend starting at the beginning of the series!

I really enjoyed this deliciously slow burn! I’ve read a few books by this author and they’re all fantastic. From the very beginning I was very invested in the characters and what would happen. This author has a way of drawing you into their world slowly until you’re fully immersed. I read this in one sitting and was very excited to jump straight into the next book. It can feel a bit slow in the beginning, but I promise it picks up and you won’t want to miss what happens! I highly recommend picking this book up and getting lost in the world of Remi and Audri.

This book has a little bit of everything. Where the Ocean Meets the Sky is one of the longest books I’ve read recently. It’s one of those books you save for a rainy day. An age gap romance between two extremely damaged souls. And the way the author presents their stories gives the book quite a bit of depth. The author has you rooting for the two main characters in different ways. Drawn to Cal the moment she sees him Annie is still trying to pick up the pieces of her life since her rock(brother) passed away. Having felt lost the last year and struggling to push forward Cal’s very existence and focus on her, has her feeling alive again. However those around her keep pointing out the 20 year difference between them, and he keeps holding back on her. Will she be able to let her grief go and finally move forward with Cal? Cal has never been drawn to a woman, like he is Annie. But can he truly be with her? His past is lingering and it’s not something he’s all that willing to share. It’s emotionally and mentally taxing and he feels no one should have to shoulder that burden. Yet he pursues her anyway. He can’t stay away. Figuring one night will get her out of his system, boy was he wrong. Will he ever let Annie in? Will their secrets just destroy the fact they could heal one another? Things get complicated before they get easier. Which is usually the case, but since I said this book is on the longer side it should be expected. The author takes the reader on a heavy, painful, and healing story. One that some could relate too. I was partial to Cal rooting for him to take what he wants & fix what is broken, yet that’s easier said than done. So grab a blanket, find an oversized chair, and get ready to cuddle up because once you start the book you’re not going to want to put it down. The need to know is why I’ll be lacking sleep tomorrow…lol Learn from my mistakes and enjoy!

Nadia Han has given us wonderful characters, suspense, danger and so much more in this book, which is the third book in the WaterFyre Rising Series. These books can be read as standalones, but I wouldn’t as you will miss out on getting to see the shared past that ties the main male leads of these books together. **Be aware though this book has some trigger warnings and the author has kindly posted this..(Caution: This book contains sexual content, profanity, violence, mentions of suicide, and eating disorder. Recommended for 18+.) These triggers didn’t bother me or deflect from the book in any way for me, but I still wanted to mention them.
This is Forrest and Kiera’s story, and let me just tell you to get ready for some volcanic chemistry! I love Forrest’s alpha male vibe and how protective he is of his family and those he cares about. This turns out to be an amazing blessing as he rescues Kiera after she has been abducted and is about to be sold off. Forrest had to choose between the vendetta he has been waiting to see through since he was a boy and the girl who has entranced him. Did he make the right choice? He has already claimed her to be his, but will she accept and see it that way? Will his shared past from WaterFyre come into play? Grab this book and find out.
I read a great deal and usually see the plots and twists and turns coming, but this book really surprised me in a good way with it’s suspense, danger, drama, romance, heat, and overall storyline. Nadia Han is an amazing author that writes characters in such a realistic way that they truly come off the page and seem like they are in your world with you. I have loved this series so far and I truly can’t wait for the next installment.

The Inquisitor: A Second Chance Romance (WaterFyre Rising Book 4)
This series gets better with each book released and I get more invested in this group of people.
Forrest and Kiera have chemistry off the charts but things get awkward after their one night. Thank goodness for Texas.
I was on edge most of their time while reading waiting for everything to fall into place and questions I had answered and the bonus is I got to know more people.
I live just outside of Austin and have a affection for anything Austin. The shop Forrest’s grandmother made me think of a Metaphysical store on the East Side of town and was unable to get it out of my mind every time and I love little connections like that.
I have to wait until February for the next book to come out, but I will be on leave from work and plan to start reading as soon as it’s released.

I’m a new reader to this author but after reading this story I feel as if I have a new favorite to add to my list!!
I enjoy dystopian novels and this one did not disappoint. This is book one of the series which means there’s more adventures to come. It starts off with Lexi having a big birthday and in true Divergent vibes, she’s about to test out to see where she will fit in her future life. She isn’t thrilled with the concept of marrying someone that she hasn’t chosen herself. Essentially not having control over her life choices and her sense of independence did not feel right.
As Lexi finds herself at a crossroads and delving into a dangerous predicament, you find yourself emerged in a dark and tricky world. The expectations of others regarding her future is at an all time high, but just because someone expects something doesn’t mean it’s going to happen.
I highly recommend this book if you enjoy dystopian fiction and well written plots.

Wow!! This book was fantastic. The Inquisitor is Book 4 in the WaterFyre Rising Series and I have to say I love all the books in the series but this……this is my favorite so far. It is dark, gritty, raw… with danger, secrets, lies, trafficking and romance…I cannot stop thinking about this story. While you could read this as a standalone, I very highly recommend reading this series in order to get the know what WaterFyre Rising is all about and the men who are involved.
Forrest Navarro is a doctor who is very smart, caring and looks into more holistic ways of helping his patients. What Forrest is also is methodical, constantly thinking of revenge and planning every step of the way…due to trauma he suffered as a child that continually stays with him. He has this bit of a dark nature…what Forrest does not plan for is Kiera Ford. He has never forgotten her since his one nigh encounter with her.
Kiera Ford is a photographer on the go, no time for relationships with her busy life. Meeting Forrest and having one night with him…she leaves unexpectedly vowing no more one night stands. With her job taking her to Texas, Kiera never thought she would run into the man that still continues to be on her mind….Forrest. When chaos ensues that leaves Kiera in extreme danger, will Forrest be able to save her before it is to late or will his need for revenge from his childhood trauma get in the way…..
Definitely read and find out. This story was fast paced and such a roller-coaster of emotions for me. I loved this story and I am looking forward to more!

Sea of Demons (Blood and Sand Book 3) by Heidi Stark is a great dark romance series
This was not how he had anticipated his life to unfold. Yet, he is now surrounded by the four guys of his fantasies. However, there’s a menace that is drawing nearer. He’d nearly killed him once. Angel’s crazed stalker has vanished. However, their existence is now much more threatened. He’s powerful. He is lethal. However, they are also.

Joy’s Christmas Escape (The Marshal’s Mail Order Bride Book 1) by P. Creeden is a great historical holiday book

Therefore, her debtors call her once her grandma passes away from sickness. And as recompense for his debt, one of them is determined to marry Joy. I’ve read a few of this author and was so eager to read this next book selection in the series. This one focuses on Forrest, who is an up and coming immunology doctor and very passionate about his work. His one distraction is his deep attraction for a fashion photographer, Kiera. After spending a whirlwind of a night together, she gets an urgent call and leaves. Kiera ends up in the unfortunate circumstances of being kidnapped and then auctioned off. When Forrest finds out, he does whatever he can to help out. This story has intense chemistry and suspense. As a warning, the story does mention of suicide, eating disorders and violence so this may be a sensitive areas to some readers. It was such a great story and I look forward to the next one in the series.

Forrest Navarro is a doctor who specialises in immunology, but he also has a passion for natural remedies and mixing the eastern and western medicine so that he can help his patients to the best of his ability, however, he also has a dark side thanks to traumatic events from his childhood. Kiera Ford is a fashion photographer and works as a freelancer so that she can be more flexible with when and where and he loves her job, but she also has a passion for nature and photographing that is her hobby, but lately, she is having to work more than play more.
When Forrest comes to see family, it also coincides with a darker motive for being in the area, however, when he runs into the woman he cannot forget thanks to one night with her, he is determined to find out why it was only one night. Meanwhile, Keira is working at a high class camping resort with a brand who believe that it would make a fantastic backdrop and they weren’t lying, so Keira balances work and pleasure by scouting for the best places and once she has found them, she agrees to go to dinner with the others on the team and get to know them, but all that changes when she sees Forrest at another table, she cannot forget the night they spent together and how regrettably, it could never be more.
As these two mix work and pleasure, they begin to reconnect and work through their pasts, however, the peace was not to last when a string of events at the campsite rip them apart and an abduction places Keira in a dark place and when Forrest finds out that she is gone, he is determined to find her and destroy everyone who stands in his way, so when he hears about women being auctioned off to the highest bidder, he knows where he has to go, but will he be able to get to Keira before she disappears forever, or will their second chance disappear before their eyes? This is a fast paced and spicy romance where danger and darkness surround the light as it tries to snuff it out and kill the romance it shines upon in this action-packed dark romance.
Joy Stewart is a young lady grieving the recent passing of her grandmother, a woman who raised her from a young age after the passing of her parents, so when she is confronted by a hulking man escorting her from the graveside to speak to a man she has never met, Joy is astonished. Unfortunately for Joy, this is not going to be a nice conversation because the man who wants to speak to her, kindly lets her know that her grandmother owed him a lot of money in the form of past loans and he demands that Joy pays the rest of the owing’s, or becomes his wife, but her grandma has made other plans for Joy.
Marshall Jack Bolling is the law enforcement in the small town of Virginia City and so lives above the jailhouse with his mother, as he is out checking on one of the residents, he is heading home and sees smoke in the distance and as he saddles his horse he starts to organise a bucket chain, however, as he approaches the scene, his worst fears are realised, it is his childhood home. He is relieved when he sees his niece and nephew alive and well, but he is devastated when he finds out that his sister and her husband were not so fortunate, so he takes the children to live with him and his mother, but looking after them takes more of a toll than he expected and he tries to look for a nanny, with no success.
As Joy tries to process her situation, she falls on more bad luck and needs to make a decision, stay or run, meanwhile, Jack is advised that there could be another way to bring in help with the children, a mail order bride, but he is reluctant, especially with it coming up to Christmas. Will Jack find someone to be his wife before the holidays really begin and will Joy find her escape from the threats when she follows the plan her grandmother set out and will she be able to run far enough to not have to look over her shoulder? This is a slow burn romance set to a backdrop of emotional turmoil, despair and hope where two decisions can either make or break lives, as danger lurks in every shadow in this engaging historical romance.

This book is a sweet and engaging second chance romance with two brilliant characters. I have read many books by this author now but I think this one has to be my favourite so far. I loved the characters and the story. Watching their connection build again after a misunderstanding and years apart was lovely to see. It was relatable and believable the whole time. This author really knows how to write a good book. Although this is quite a short story it is packed full of an interesting storyline and is well thought out. I enjoyed this book from start to finish and would definitely recommend it.

The Catford Catastrophe Zone by Petra Jacob is a sci-fi/dystopian story. Frankie is an undercover officer who is trying to get promoted. In order to help her chances, she reluctantly takes a mission to investigate a group of rebels in the Poverty Zones. Frankie tries her best to investigate the group without being pulled under. This is a very intriguing story. The world-building is great. A lot of thought and detail went into this world. The characters are all very interesting. I enjoyed reading about character types that I have not seen in any other book. The plot is very well-written. There is a lot of action and events to keep you hooked. This book was quite a ride!

Secrets at the Cafe: A Novel of Suspense About Family and Friendships by Susan Spect Oram is a cozy mystery about a young woman who takes over her grandmother’s cafe after a deathbed promise. Gigi raised Karina after her parents’ death. When Gigi dies she makes Karina promise to run her cafe and read her journal. When Gigi’s journal is stolen, Karina has to pull out all the stops to find it. This book showed a lot of promise. There were quite a few twists and turns. I wish Karina had made better decisions and had better boundaries. I feel like there was a lot of unnecessary blame that she placed on herself. I liked the way some of the town tried to help Karina. The relationship between Karina and Bernard was sweet. If you like cozy mysteries you may like this one.

I have truly sat and tried to figure out what to say about this story. I have read both stories. this book touched me so much. It’s really an emotional story. They both have tremendous emotional issues to deal with. Watching their emotional relationship develop was beautiful yet painful because her adoptive parents were supportive, yet not. There are so many issues in the story. It touches your heart and you want to root for them because they go through so much. You just watch them work through it and though Annie seems immature, she is a strong woman. She is just young and has a big trauma. Cal, however, is older and is dealing with a large loss. It’s a beautiful story that I would recommend. I’m in awe of both stories.

This story pulled me right in. Mimi gets pulled into a mystery when her friend, Roz, sells a “cursed” diamond to her dad, Max. I couldn’t help but be pulled in by the “human spam” telling Mimi about the men following Roz that then followed Mimi, etc. It was like a domino chain falling over. The mystery started and you couldn’t stop. You had to follow it to the end. Thankfully, Michael was there to help her because she was way in over her head at times. I came into the series here at book three and I will be going back to book one. You can read as a stand alone. The characters are awesome. They are totally relatable. The story is very engaging. 5 Stars Joy’s Christmas Escape (The Marshal’s Mail Order Bride Book 1) by P. Creeden
Joy’s Christmas Escape is the first book in The Marshal’s Mail Order Bride Series is ia Historical Holiday Romance that I absolutely loved reading. I’m a fan of Historical Romance and I love reading Holiday romance as well this is just what I needed. This is a fairly new author to me and I’m super excited to check out what other books they have written. This authors style of writing and attention to detail along with fully developed characters make for a wonderful story. This is a story about Marshal Jack and Joy. She’s a schoolteacher who last her grandmother and now is being hounded by a man about her grandmother’s debts. Joy can’t pay so he suggests her becoming his mistress. She doesn’t want to do that. Jack finds himself in a situation where he now has his sister’s twin girls due to a house fire. Jack has a lot on his plate and isn’t sure how he’s going to manage it all. Can he be what she needs and can she be what he needs? This is a sweet romance that I highly recommend reading to find out what happens next. I’m super excited about this series and look forward to reading the next book soon.

Jake and Cody rule. There are just no two ways about it. They are classy and fun.
So much has happened since my last Jake and Cody thrill ride. Cody has puppies!! No surprise that they are super smart and helpers, just like Cody. Okay, I digress.
While enjoying some time off in the Florida Keys, Jake is contacted by his Secret Service contact about needing Jake for a job. It is during this job that Jake finds out about a new weapon being used against citizens of the US, a new drug that is deadly and being used to taint the drug supply. This new lethal combination is causing havoc throughout the drug trade, even in-fight within the cartels.
Jake and Cody have been tasked with taking down as many of the traffickers that they can find to stop or at least stem the tide of this new drug entering the US. As Jake and Cody do their thing, it paints a large bullseye on not only them but friends and family. Jake and Cody must work within the law to keep everyone safe, especially themselves.
The action in this book does not stop. Whether it is guns blazing or Jake and Cody saving senior citizens from bullies on the beach, Jake and Cody are in constant motion. The author does not fail to entertain or keep you guessing. There are a few surprises sprinkled throughout.
Here is to Jake and Cody saving the world (or at least some part of it) again and again!!! Fantastic read.

Joy’s Christmas Escape was a great book, P. Creeden is an amazing author who brings such a sweet romance with a beautiful gospel touch to it. It made me feel so good to read of how important Joy’s religious beliefs were to her, and the power of her faith in every trial that was thrown her way. She was such a strong woman to have gone through everything that she did and still endured through it all like a warrior. Marshal Bolling was the perfect companion to be matched with Joy, his mail-order bride, and what better timing couldn’t have come for both of them? I adored the attention to detail that the author took in developing the characters, and showing how much, they needed one another, whether they knew it or not. The setting in this story was one of my favorite time periods, when the world was so much more relaxed, and you could feel the friendliness of everyone around the town. The whole atmosphere reminded me of small-town living back in the days when everyone was neighborly, and you didn’t have such a huge issue with crimes. This was a great book to enjoy during this holiday season, it just warmed my heart. I have already started on the next book in this series and am excited to read about the next mail-order bride’s story. @Brandy Rymer 11/2023

One man’s trash, is another man’s treasure. Or, a dead body as in this novel. This is a suspenseful and compelling cozy mystery. Self-proclaimed hoarder along with trying to solve the murder of someone close to her makes a humorous plot. Dumpster Dying is a compelling mystery that keeps you turning the pages. With Birdie’s late husband haunting her a bit and her sister Oda Jean trying to clear out her house room by room that is a little overrun by bargain treasures…will Birdie find a out any truths the Jenna’s disappearance?

Excellent Read! Full of twists and turns. Great characters, very descriptive. This novel kept me at the edge of my seat. It has triggers, that are disclosed upfront. Overall, the storyline and characters bring an excellent read. I recommend to those who want to experience a romance in on a different level.

My kids always love it when we pick up a book by this author, and this one was no different! It never fails to amaze me the way she writes amazing children’s books that actually get them thinking about a deeper meaning. This one sparked a conversation in our household about fear, bullies, and anxiety. The illustrations are wonderful and really add to the storyline as well. Will the bird ever find the courage to break out of his egg? Read on to find out! I highly recommend picking this book up for any kiddos in your life, whether that’s at home or in a school setting.
I fell in love with this book quickly and never looked back. Although I started with this book because I didn’t pay attention to the fact that it was a series, I HIGHLY recommend reading from the beginning. It took me a little while to get into the groove because I didn’t have the proper backstory which is my own fault. I’ve picked up the previous books now and fully intend to read in the correct order. With that mistake aside, this was an absolutely riveting read! It is dark but addicting, and the author put trigger warnings so that readers may go in without walking on eggshells, so to speak. There are also plenty of scenes that are dangerous, intense, and very steamy as it is a spicy reverse harem. I really enjoy that there is a great amount of sultry scenes throughout this book, but the author has created a marvelous storyline that doesn’t rely on the sensuality alone. Reading about Angel, Devon, the snakes, and the Brixton guys will have you at the edge of your seat for a myriad of reasons, so don’t pass this one up!
