Ignite My Heart is part of Alicia Street’s North Fork series. While it is not the first book in the series, it’s the first book I’ve read by this author and it read well as a stand-alone. I liked that this book was on the shorter side for a novel but never felt rushed. The characters were really well written and enjoyable, the kind that you root for and feel could be friends of yours in reality. The fact that this story flowed so well with strong characters sparked an interest in what more this author or series has to offer. I look forward to reading more of the North Fork series.

You can never read a holiday Christmas story to early…and this book gives you all the feels that of Christmas of friendship, hope, forgiveness, magic, love and Cheer! I really enjoyed this story and I cannot wait to see what is next from this author.
Holly Claus is focused at her job on hand, making sure she is collecting Cheer to help with using it back at home, the North Pole. Holly has visited many places where her job takes her, while visiting her friend in Finland, she sees a flyer about a up and coming festival in Emerald Hollow, Oregon. Holly takes a chance to visit this little town, not expecting to fall in love with everything it has to offer. Holly meets Ash Hayes in the midst…and sparks fly between the two….but both are initially in denial of their feelings. Ash is busy, being a business owner and trying to get the holiday festival up to peak….but slowly his walls around is heart start to fall the more he spends time with Holly. What Ash does not know is who Holly truly is or where she is from. When Holly’s Cheer goes into chaos…will she be able to save Christmas and be honest with Ash of who she truly is?
This is a sweet story that was very enjoyable and just what I needed :).
The conclusion to Phoenix and Aspen’s story. I couldn’t think of a better way for their story to go. These two had a really rough time since they met and how everything happened. I love the girls in this series. They are all so strong. Not sure how Aspen handled everything but she did it and did it well. As for Phoenix…well I guess the truth to his feelings for Aspen are there when it matters. The elite may be these big, strong guys who don’t date or settle down but all it takes is for one break thru to their heart and that’s that! Definitely loved this story with all the drama and hurdles thrown in. Looking forward to Shane’s book next!

This is my first book by Alicia Street and let me tell you I LOVED it. This is a short novel and it definitely delivers a lot! I almost wish it was longer just because I enjoyed it so much. There is so much chemistry from the first time we meet both Blake and Morgan. It had such a fun plot line and featured some unexpected twists. I definitely loved every page and I cannot wait to read more by Alicia Street.

Winter Austin literally never disappoints with her books. I know when I am reading oe of hers that I will be treated to a page turner with fantastic characters and that I will be kept guessing until the very end. Her character development is absolutely unmatched. I love how this series is featuring women in law enforcement with incredibly complicated pasts. Their pasts are influencing there present as well. I also love that these feature a love story. A romantic relationship that must survive many things, including someone terrorizing them. This book was so fast paced and I really loved Cassy and Boyce. I am definitely eagerly awaiting my next book by Winter Austin.

Beautiful Dangerous is a suspenseful thriller that kept me turning pages. Hannah is a public defender with a stalker whose intentions are starting to become more aggressive. Doyle is in law enforcement and was asked by a friend to help out Hannah and since he is on sabbatical has agreed to help her out. The chemistry between these two can’t be missed but they have bigger problems. They both have demons they are trying to overcome. This author wrote an exceptional story that kept me on the edge of my seat. I experienced an array of emotions while reading this book. This book was engaging and I had a hard time putting it down. I highly recommend reading this book and I can’t wait to see what the author has in store for us next.

Wild For Me is Book Three in The Balefire series. It is a second chance, contemporary romance that centers around the characters of Annabelle and Dakota. We were introduced to them in previous books as secondary characters, but this book goes into their story. Annabelle has recently graduated from college and has been given the opportunity to do an internship with her favorite band, Balefire. The internship will allow her to gain admission to an MBA program that she wants to attend. The tricky part is that two years ago Annabelle slept with the lead guitarist, Dakota, of the band Balefire and she never expected to see him again. Dakota has slept with numerous women over the years and prides himself on never sleeping with the same woman twice. When he slept with Annabelle, he never expected to see her again, but he does find himself thinking about her and wondering how she feels about him. As fate would have it Annabelle and Dakota are brought together when a member of Balefire is about to get married to Annabelle’s best friend. The attraction and chemistry between Annabelle and Dakota is undeniable but she does not want to be accused of sleeping her way to the top. Dakota has a reputation for sleeping around so he must try to prove to Annabelle that he truly does care for her. The push and pull between the two becomes intense as Dakota and Annabelle navigate their feelings and attraction for one another.
This was another great book in this rockstar romance series. The characters of Dakota and Annabelle grew from what we read briefly in previous books. Annabelle is hardworking, smart, ambitious, and determined. She was attempting to explore her wild side when she slept with Dakota and never expected it to become anything more than her fulfilling a dream of hers. Afterwards, Annabelle put it behind her and focused on graduating college and pursuing her MBA. Dakota has a reputation for being wild, carefree, ambitious, and a bit of a jerk. He never expected any woman to make him feel the need to settle down and stop sleeping around until he met Annabelle. His fear of commitment stems from something traumatic in his past which enables us to better understand why Dakota acts the way he does. It was interesting to read and see how the chemistry would play out between Annabelle and Dakota and if there was any hope of a real, true relationship. I am looking forward to the next book in this series.

Cruel Love is the 6th book in the Hidden Valley Elite series by Isla Vaughn, this series just keeps getting better. This book picks up directly after the previous one so these so need to be read in order (or it will make no sense). At the end of book 5 Phoenix and Aspen were in a catastrophic car crash, while she is unconscious after being accidentally punched while pregnant, ending on a cliff hanger. This book starts in the aftermath of the accident. I do not want to give any spoilers but Phoenix is not the same man he was previously. I really enjoyed Phoenix and Aspens story, he was my favourite out of the 4 main male characters, so I am glad to finally see his sorry being told. I am really looking forward to reading Shane’s story next.

Back to the Eider police department and the officers and detectives within to protect the community. This addition to the series focuses on newly pinned deputy Jolie Murdock – cousin of Nic and Cassy from the previous books in the series.
When Jolie starts the pursuit of a missing girl after a community event, she instead finds the freshly dead body of the girls father, with local bartender and former marine Xavier Hartmann leaning over him, covered in his blood, with no memory of what happened or how he got there. With his traumatic brain injury that stems from an IED blast while in the service, he realizes he has had another blackout and can’t be sure he didn’t kill this man. When he is taken to the hospital, siblings that no one knew existed show up to throw an extra wrench into things.
While trying to wade through all the evidence, believing Xavier is innocent, Jolie discovers similarities between the missing girl and a cold case from when her father was sheriff. She begins to dig deeper, and along the way discovers many secrets in both her own life as well as Xavier’s.
I love the way the community keeps building as Austin continues this series. While they’re all able to be read as standalones, they’re much more fun to enjoy when you have the basis of the previous books in the series and some background on important characters.
Austin does a wonderful job showing how much our military continues to go through, even after the hell of war. She shows their strength, abilities, loyalties and more. These books are great suspenseful reads that offer danger and intrigue while throwing in enough chemistry amongst characters to offer a different kind of tension. Really looking forward to book 4!

WOW this book was amazing! It revolves around Morgan and Blake, who both are in unique circumstances who need each other to help them out. What started out as merely business turned into a relationship, and I loved it! Morgan needed someone to be a nanny for his daughter and Blake was in a dire need for housing after just losing her job. When they met SPARKS exploded and the tension was undeniable. I absolutely LOVED reading this story and I cannot wait to read more books by this author!

Fairly new to me author, I read the first book in this series and I am not regretting my choices at all. With believable story lines and loveable characters, I am quickly becoming a fan. The books aren’t so long that you start to get bored, but they aren’t so short that they leave you with questions. I will definitely be back for more.

This is the first book that I have read from this author and now I’m hooked. This is the first book of the human mating site series. I fell in love with the main character right from the start. I could not put this book down until the end. It only took me a couple of hours to finish this very addicting book. I can’t wait to see what is next with this character.
Bella thought she had a great marriage but when her husband of twelve years asked for a divorce she was clearly mistaken. She now has to start a brand new life. Bella knew that dating at her age was going to be hard but she wasn’t expecting to find out who she really was. Will Bella find a new beginning or will her life fall apart? review @heatherbass

Well this was a wonderful quick little read!
I lovedddd this book, cannot wait to read the others coming out in this series! I’ve never read anything from this author but I enjoyed this work immensely.
This book was light and airy in some parts and so refreshing, a bit of humor, some sass and some real life drama. Our main character is going through one here, right off the bat this story just jumps into the drama. Her marriage is “falling apart” her relationship of the last 12 years just ended and the only thing more mortifying to her than saying goodbye to her marriage is being thirty and back in the dating game again. But with the help of some bad ass girlfriends, she might just make it through this. That is if her lying cheating ex husband will stay out of the picture, and if she can find the courage to put herself back out into the world again.
There is very much a spicy little cliff hanger teaser at the end, keeps you wanting more! I’m more than ready to read the next novel!

Disclaimer: please make sure to read Cruel Hate and Cruel Start before reading Cruel Love! This entire series has quickly become one of my absolute favorites, captivating me completely, and consuming me with so many emotions. I love how much Phoenix and Aspen grow together in this book, so many things test them and should probably ultimately tear them apart but seeing them open up to each other and learn to trust makes this book even better.

This book was a great fantasy romance, one of my favorite styles to read. Nicole E. Kelleher has a way with words that paint a picture of excitement, intrigue, and of course romance. The characters of the book are created with expertise, they are so dynamic, that you feel strongly about who you like and who you distrust. This book had me on the edge of my seat, I couldn’t put the book down the second I picked it up, I was encompassed with the characters’ circumstances and needed to know the outcome of their stories. If you love magic, romance, passion, war, and deep storylines then this is the story for you! I am so excited that there is more to come in this story and am looking forward to the next edition to this series. @Brandy Rymer 09/2023

This book was just amazing! It gave everything that was promised, passion, fear, tears, laughter, and a happily ever after at the end with a twist that is true to Isla Vaughn’s style! I absolutely love that each book in the series builds upon the books that came before them. There is no doubt where the past main characters are in their lives because they continue to be side characters among the newest mains. This book was one of my favorites so far in this series, why you may ask, because it gives us so much more of a view into the past and ties together mysteries that we have been wondering about for this entire series. There are so many unexpected scenes that entice the reader to continue reading in anxiousness, not knowing what may happen next to the characters. I loved and hated the cliffhanger this book ended with, I am so excited to get the next books in this series and see what the outcome will be! If you have not read any of the other books in this series, stop, go back to the beginning, and start with the prequels, you will be happy that you did! I highly recommend this series to young adults and up, there is mature content in the books, but it’s very toned down compared to a lot of romance books I have read. @Brandy Rymer 09/2023

Sins of the Father is the third engrossing instalment in the McIntire County series by Winter Austin. This series just keeps getting better with each new instalment. I highly recommend reading the previous two books before starting on this one, as they will help to ‘build’ a bigger picture and help immerse you in the series. This is a fantastic romantic suspense that has all the clever, suspenseful, and gripping touches that I have come to expect from Ms. Austin. It has crime and investigation, mystery, intrigue, secrets, action, politics, duty/responsibility vs loyalty, family dynamics, discovery, determination, chemistry, and emotion- w ith plenty of gripping and dramatic developments that will keep you flipping the pages to discover how it all plays out in the end. This is Jolie and Xavier’s story, and I was hooked right from the beginning. This is quite the tangled web that Jolie is determined to untangle- as Ms. Austin takes us on quite an intriguing ride. Missing girls, a brutal murder, trauma, pain, memory issues, a bit of a ‘pressure-pot’ situation, doubts, questions, and passion- makes for a gripping read. ‘Sins of the Father’ makes a superb addition to the series, and I can’t wait to see what she has in store for us in Book #4! Happy Reading…

I haven’t come across a book yet in The Philly Heat Series I didn’t enjoy. I feel like this is a series that just gets better as it goes. Beautiful Dangerous being my favorite so far. This author brings to you a smattering of people in law enforcement, DAs office, Public Defenders, the FBI all in these books. This one is no different. Unexpected romance with an investigation going on around it. This is Hannah and Doyle’s story. Hannah, a public defender, has been receiving threatening messages from a stalker. After being assaulted by one of her clients she comes into contact with Detective Doyle. He’s hard headed but so is she, which causes them to butt heads. All he’s trying to do is help her. Taking an emotional/mental sabbatical from work Detective Doyle does a favor for a friend, by checking into this woman’s threat. She hasn’t had it easy with the police department because of her occupation. What he didn’t expect were for things to start getting personal. A line he doesn’t want to cross. What happens when the stalker escalates? Do Doyle and Hannah cross that line between business & personal? So many questions, but the author gives you all the answers. She keeps the reader on their toes wanting more. A book written well as a standalone but I encourage the entire series be read, even if its out of order.

I honestly didn’t think I’d enjoy this book as much as I did! It’s not a genre i would typically read but I’m SO glad I gave it a shot. I LOVE ANNA! Regardless of what she went through, she always remained strong..not only for herself but for all of her people! Phenomenal story line with great characters. Like I said, this isn’t usually my go too type of book but I think that’s changed now! The authors writing quickly grabbed my attention and I just all around loved this empowering story. I highly encourage you to read this!

This is the start of the series and we meet Bella. She and her husband have been married for years and things are just fine, normal and well a little boring. Until he asks for a divorce. As she finds herself back in the dating game we get to see her find herself and hopefully Mr Right.

When Phoenix and Aspen were involved in an accident things didn’t look great for Phoenix. Being placed into a medically induced coma Phoenix needed to heal not only his body but his mind as well. Aspen is struggling with navigating pregnancy but when Phoenix finally wakes from his coma everyone realizes that he has lost five years of his memory. This beautiful love story that Phoenix and Aspen share has its fair shear of love/hate rockie rollercoaster making this a page-turner. I could not put this book down but that is the magical power this author has over her readers. This is an amazing author with the talent of telling a story! Can’t wait to see what comes next!

I almost didn’t pick this book up. I am ever so glad that I did though!! This book has elements that I love in a great story. There is mystery, intrigue, romance, horses, castles, Lords and Ladies, and more!
This book sucked me in from the very beginning. I instantly fell in love with Lady Aubrianne and her assertiveness as a young lady. Her mysterious meeting in the hallway started it all. Then there was the wedding that lacked all the luster a girl has ever dreamed of on her special day, not to mention the cold shoulder of her new husband. Lord Roger was an enemy of mine from the get-go!
The writing in this book is masterfully done, especially considering this is the author’s debut book. I do look forward to going on more adventures with Nicole E. Kelleher in the near future!

What a sweet, cheery (pun very much intended), unexpected story! I loved this from beginning to end. The author does a wonderful job creating setting, as well as lovely characters making you feel like you’re plopped right in the middle of your favorite holiday romance movie…you know the ones I’m talking about. 😉
Holly Claus find herself looking to fill her cheer meter in Emerald Hollow and unexpectedly finds an attraction to Ash, the owner of the quaint inn she is staying in. You’ll fall in love with Holly and Ash, as well as the creative take on the Claus family and North Pole in this sweet story.
This was a page-turning, easy to read story that will get you in the holiday spirit! I highly recommend it!

Annabelle and Dakota. They meet at one of Dakota’s rock band’s concerts and hit it off. What neither of them expected was how much that one night stuck with them. When they meet again, the chemistry is off the charts! I really enjoyed reading about Annabelle and Dakota. This series and author are new to me. I didn’t read the earlier books in this series but the author did a great job of keeping the storyline together so I didn’t feel lost at any point. I’ll be looking for more books from the series soon.

This was an interesting tale. Two worlds completely opposite of each other. But there’s a pull from both Arryn and Rowan want to be apart of the others world. Two polar opposites finding love where they least expect it. They both showed bravery and it was great to see their growth. It was both romantic and quite a journey. I have a ton of questions and hope they will be answered in the next installment.
Oh my goodness this book was so good! And got me in the Christmas spirit.
Holly is Ms. Claus and is in charge of collecting ‘cheer’ to bring home to power the North Pole light. Negative energy and moods can affect her cheer collecting so she’s gone for most of the year trying to fill up her meter to keep things running. When she finds a flyer for a town fall festival she decides to try somewhere new for her cheer collecting and she gets so much more than she bargained for.
I loved all of the characters in this and felt they were all relatable in one way or another. I really would love to see more in everyone in this story and the town. This is perfect for a cozy weekend read.
Sins of the Father (The McIntire County Series Book 3) by Winter Austin. I have truly loved this series. They can be read as standalone’s but I recommend reading them in order just to get a handle on who is who. This installment is about Jolie who is a Deputy Sheriff in McIntire County and she is coming off a bad case where she wasn’t successful. It has shaken her confidence and caused her to not believe in herself. When a young girl is missing she is in charge of the case. She does find a body but its not the young girl and hanging around the body is local Xavier a bartender who is suffering from a traumatic brain injury from being in the Marines. Xavier has tons of secrets from his past and being caught by this body is going to cause them to all come out. Xavier is a very private man and doesn’t want everyone knowing his business. Does Jolie just assume that Xavier is the killer and closes the case or does she see thru him and see that there is more to the guy than just a crazy war vet. The more time Jolie spends with Xavier she really likes him. Is she letting her feelings get in the way of doing her job? Read this awesome installment in the McIntire County Series to find out!
