WOW! I was not ready for the plot twists in this book. Holy cow. I was so emotionally invested in Aspen and Phoenix’s relationship, I was so happy with the way this book wrapped everything up. I mean, to be honest, I felt like she kinda left room for another… And I would NOT complain about that. LOL. If you are about to read this book and you HAVEN’T read Cruel Start and Cruel Hate, don’t read this one before you read those… This is NOT a stand alone book, and you will not follow the story. I do recommend ALL the Hidden Valley Elite series, but these 3 are my personal favorites. Isla is such an amazing writer. I can’t wait to see what she puts out for us next!!!

This book is book 6 of the series and just like every book before it, it’s amazing! This is the conclusion to Aspen and Phoenix’s story so it needs to be read after Cruel Start and Cruel Hate. I read this in one sitting! I can’t get enough of this series.
Aspen is finally realizing her feelings for Phoenix, just in time for Phoenix not to remember. Aspen is left fighting for her baby and fighting her feelings. She doesn’t know which way is up at this point. Lots of family drama and secrets come to light.
This book, as with the whole series, is so well written. You get sucked into the world and feel like you’re part of it. Definitely worth reading!!

Lady Aubrianne is a young lady who is no stranger to duty, but her upbringing was full of love and honour, so when she is married to a wealthy Lord, she is hoping for the same thing, however, he seems to be quite upright and polite in all of their interactions and when they are wed, however, on their travels to his home, there is no passion, unlike her only taste from when she was younger. Larkin is a young man who is the second son of a wealthy family and so has the freedom to do whatever he wishes, including playing games with the ladies within his families court, however, one encounter changes things for him and although he never saw the woman again and didn’t have chance to even giver his name, it is something he has never forgotten.
As soon as Lady Aubrianne enters her husbands keep, she has a feeling that something isn’t quite right, it is too quiet and there is nobody to welcome her, but she still does not let that bother her when she is shown to her room and asked to prepare for her husband to visit her once she has freshened up, but her experience is not one of a love filled marriage, it is not what she prepared herself for and nothing like her imaginations, but she has some support from her lady in waiting, even if it starts off as distant. As the time passes and a routine is established, Lady Aubrianne begins to befriend the servants, especially while her husband is away, which he frequently is and this is where she finds out what struck her when she arrived and she is determined to help those around her, so she uses her unconventional upbringing to her advantage, especially when her talents as a healer are needed and this continues, albeit in a more secretive manner when his lordship is around.
Larkin is up to his old tricks and competing with his best friend at the same time, but his mystery lady is always at the back of his mind, however, when he is given the chance to investigate a certain Lord Roger due to some suspicions of treason and misuse of his prosperity, the last thing he expects is to see his mystery women living with him as his wife, but not as surprised as Lady Aubrianne is to see him. As Larkin’s investigations continue, Lady Aubrianne is doing her own investigating as to what her husband has been doing on his trips, mainly so she can stop him before she is drawn even deeper into his plans, so when she is confronted by Larkin about her complicity, she agrees to help him, but only if he helps her in return. As the two become closer, can they work out what Lord Roger is doing and who is also complicit in his machinations, or will they find themselves in deep trouble and dangerous waters? This is an action packed fantasy adventure which spans countries and kingdoms to bring justice to those doing wrong with a romantic undertone which will leave you wanting more as you read along to its conclusion.

MUST read the prior two stories before this one!! What happens when you remove all your walls, emotional barriers… can you fall in love and open up easier without them?
Phoenix and Aspen have had oceans between them it seems, and at every turn something is in the way, but now they have a chance to start over without all the previous anger and hurt they both brought to their relationship.
It was absolutely breathtaking to watch them fall in love again and Phoenix allow someone into his heart and watch Aspen let her walls down.
Even though they get a second chance there is still new obstacles in their way and everyone in both of their families has an opinion about it or… does something deliberately to try to end their story before it starts.
The ending of this story I said outloud “why you gotta play me like that” to the author of this book. The exciting cliffhangers will break you in this series . Happy reading!

This book is book two of the series. This is Blu and Ashleigh’s story. What a good read!
Blu is your typical rockstar and he loves every minute of it. Ashleigh is nothing like he’s used to and he’s not exactly mad about it. He can’t stop thinking about her. Ashleigh just wants to put down some roots after moving all over most of her life. What she didn’t expect is Blu. She tries to steer clear but he’s pretty determined.
These characters are so well written and very relatable. The whole story is well written and sucks you in from the beginning. I couldn’t wait to keep reading! I definitely recommend!

Wild Lavender by Nicole E. Kelleher is the first book in the Heart & Hand series. I absolutely love fantasy romance; especially if it is set in a medieval setting. This book is a wonderful addition to that genre. Wild Lavender follows Aubrianne and Larkin and the story is wonderfully written. The plot is strong and the world-building is detailed and vivid. I absolutely loved and sympathized with Anna. The author brought a good balance between plot and romance. I really look forward to reading more from this series.

I thoroughly enjoyed this heartwarming contemporary romance story which kept me happily turning the pages. Morgan owns a national protective company which trains and places bodyguards, however it’s his toxic ex that he needs to protect his daughter from. Whilst he’s dealing with the custody battle, he needs a live in nanny and so hires the sister of a friend. Blake is more used to teaching the ancient classics than being a nanny, but having lost her job and with her savings running out, she can’t really say no. Morgan wishes the arrangement wasn’t just temporary as his daughter adores Blake, and so does he! However, Blake is unable to have children of her own and so does not want to be a nanny forever, but both Morgan and his daughter have got into her heart. I loved the characters, Blake and Morgan are both likeable and realistic and their chemistry sizzled off the page! The storyline had me hooked throughout and I was fully immersed in the story.

When I tell you, I inhaled this book. I absolutely inhaled it. Cruel Love picks up right where we were left at the end of Cruel Hate. (Man, that cliffhanger!) While there are some obstacles for the characters to overcome, they overcome them quickly and lead you to exactly where you want to see them. Except for the latest cliffhanger! Setting you up perfectly for the next installment! I’m dying to find out what happens next!

To start, I really really love when series branch out into other characters stories and link them. It’s such a treat to read books that delve a little deeper the further they go.
Another series following the Eider police force after the events of book 1. Nic’s PTSD was triggered, she was put in danger by a lunatic, and she has been working her way through the aftermath ever since. We meet Detective Cassy Rivers in this addition to the series. The Eider PD is active again with a series of random robberies occurring, and a fight to find the thieves once they suffer the loss of a fellow officer. Losing an officer gets the FBI called in, and it just so happens to be the man who broke Cassy’s heart that shows up to lead the charge.
Agent Boyce Hunt broke her heart the first time in order to protect her from his mother and the criminal enterprise she runs, knows she can’t possibly be interested in being around him again, and has given up on the prospect of finding happiness. Cassy is still struggling with her feelings about the past, floundering when being put into rotation with the ex love of her life, and grieving the loss of her fellow officer. Will they be able to focus on the case, or is their history and chemistry going to keep pulling them harder?
Suspense, chemistry, danger, family dramas, and flames of passion abound in this book. I’m looking forward to continuing to learn more as the series continues.

Beautiful Dangerous by Becky Flade is the first book in the Philly Heat Series. In this book, we follow Hannah Patel and Detective Doyle Murphy. After taking some time from his position as a police detective, Doyle Murphy becomes a bodyguard for Hannah Patel. Hannah is being stalked. As Hannah and Doyle get closer, it pushes her stalker close to the edge. I really enjoyed reading this story. There is a perfectly balanced romance and mystery. There are so many twists and turns that the story keeps you hooked. I found it hard to put this book down. The characters are very relatable and the plot is wonderfully written. I really enjoyed this story.

This is the third book in this series that is just as great reading as the previous books. I highly suggest reading the previous books to help your enhancement of this author’s writing style. This is a well written story where the author used details to make the story come to life on each page. The characters pull you into their world with ease and keep you engaged to the end. They are strong, creative characters that add so much to the story. They bring the twists and turns to a new level. I enjoyed watching their growth throughout which made the story easy to read. This is a fast paced story that you don’t want to miss. I highly recommend this book.

In this enemies-to-lovers romance, Arryn is betrothed to a prince who has disappeared into a forbidden world called the Lands Below. With the help of a bitter sentry, Rowan, Arryn sets out to find her prince. Do they find him? Do Rowan and Arryn settle their differences and become friends, or something more? Find out in Heart’s Rescue. The characters are likeable and relatable. The reader can feel right along with the characters. The details in the book make you feel as though you are right in the story with the characters. Heart’s Rescue alternates between Rowan and Arryn’s point of view. Full of twists and turns, Heart’s Rescue will have you gripping the edge of your seat. Heart’s Rescue is a fun, exciting, and quick read. It had a decent amount of romance mixed in with the action. I enjoyed every moment of it and cannot wait to read more in the series.
After the way Cruel Hate ended I needed this next book immediately. That is your warning to read these in order!!
Phoenix and Aspen are recovering from the accident that left us on the edge in Cruel Hate. Phoenix isnt the same and Aspen is learning there is much much more to him than she ever knew. I was invested in this book and was rooting for these 2 the whole way.
Now I won’t say I wasnt left wanting more at the end because I would be lying but it is about another character so we will see where the next on this series goes. I’ll be watching everywhere for a release date for the next.

Another enjoyable and engaging romantic suspense story in this exciting series which I’ve enjoyed reading. This was a real page turner of a story, as Detective Doyle Murphy has to protect Public Defender Hannah Patel from an obsessed and terrifying stalker. Hannah’s brother was tragically murdered and for the following year she withdrew to the comfort of her family and career. However, as time passed she realised that the man who is obsessed with her is now a real threat. Meanwhile, Doyle was doubting his future in law enforcement following a fatal error, but being put in charge of protecting Hannah could be his redemption. However, they didn’t expect to find each other attractive and then their forced closeness results in their genuine feelings to develop. Their relationship seems to annoy the stalker though, making him even more dangerous and putting both their lives at risk. I was hooked from start to finish and the descriptive narrative brought both the characters and setting to life, making me feel immersed in the storyline. The plot twists kept me guessing as to the outcome of the story, and I felt invested in the likeable and relatable Hannah and Doyle’s relationship.

Holly Claus is responsible for the Cheer levels at the North Pole. She must go out each cycle and get the required amount so that they have the correct amount of magic. While in Sweden, she sees a flyer for a festival in Oregon and decides to go there. Ash Hayes is worried about his little town of Emerald Hollow. His business is doing fine but others seem to be closing almost as soon as they open and if something doesn’t change, it will affect his business too. Knowing the festival is coming up, he steps it into high gear and does more advertising and tries to make this festival the best yet. When Holly and Ash meet, Cheer is in overabundance and Holly needs to figure out why. Opinion This book reads like a Hallmark movie. You know what is going to happen in the end but you want to watch knowing it will be a fun ride. I found this book super cute and it definitely put me in the mood for the holidays. Great winter read.

Bella girl loves her romance novels but real life isn’t the same as where we loose ourselves …
After 12 years of marriage her husband decides he wants to move on and it would seem a third party is involved but I’ve my doubts but that’s a story for later , she’s now going to enter the scary world of 30 something dating and I say scary but it’s actually quite amusing and liberating and it May it may not boost your confidence a little ….

Boy, was this one a page-turner! The author just keeps making this better and better. Jodi gets herself a case and a man. Xavier brings a mystery and secrets. Can’t say much because you’ll have to read to learn it but this is some action packed entertainment wrapped in a mystery. Nic, Con, Cassy, and Sheriff Hamilton are all here to help her as she makes her big deputy ‘debut.’ Some twists that I didn’t see coming. antagonists that I didn’t see coming with some big britches and some strong strength from Officer Murdoch. Excellent book and series that I recommend highly.

This book is a great escape from the reality of every day life. You will be swept away into a historical fantasy romance. The book will have you turning pages to find out what happens. Not only is the story about romance but, there is adventure, secrets, second chances, mystery, and evolution of characters. You will want to know what happens when two people who met once and couldn’t forget the other one, meet again. It will have you wondering what is going to happen to the traitors in this story and who is it going to affect. Being able to be get lost in the words on the pages and so caught up in the story that you won’t get much done until you finish this book, speaks of how well it was written. This is the first book in the series and it will have you wanting to keep reading every book that follows. I know that I am going to be reading the rest of this series. It has been a long, long time since I have been sucked into a fantasy romance book. Lady Arryn has her whole life planned out for her. How she dresses, the way she talks, even who she will marry. Her beloved is no other than the Prince. When he goes missing after heading to the lands below, Arryn’s mother starts planning out her alternative marriage prospects. Arryn does not want to have to marry anyone other than her Prince. She takes it upon herself to try to find the Prince, instead she falls into a world she was not prepared for.
Rowan and his brother are the only sentry’s left in their small village. One day a monster gets in and kills 3 civilians and takes the arm of Rowans brother. Out for revenge, Rowan hunts down the monster and delivers him to the king. Another monster gets it but this time it is a Lady. She begs for mercy so Rowan takes her home to figure out what to do with her. This starts the adventure of Rowan escorting Lady Arryn home.
This book was a page turner that’s for sure! I loved it from beginning to end. I loved reading about Lady Arryn coming into her own. Being in a different land was freeing for her and it was refreshing to read her character growth. She’s stubborn and sassy but also classy. Rowan is used to living in his brother’s shadow. Rowan is considered a freak due to his unique magic. Arryn brought out the best in him and he slowly gained confidence. They both grew up being taught that the other kingdom is full of monsters. I was rooting for them from day one. The forbidden love. There were twists and turns, romance, adventure. A little bit of everything! I highly recommend checking out this series!
Wow! Loved it! Book 6 and I am still totally vested in this series. This is the continuation of Phoenix and Aspen’s story – so defjnetly read Cruel Hate first. Pheonix is recovering from the accident and is a different person. Aspen is having to make some hard choices for her, the relationship and the baby. This story is the conclusion of their duet and is brilliantly executed as is the whole Hidden Valley Elite series. I eagerly await the next duet in the series Wicked Games and Wicked Ends. Highly Recommend

This was phenomenal! Absolutely nerve wracking but brilliant!
Hannah Patel , public defender, tragically lost her brother and she is so focused on her career and family but she also has an admirer aka a stalker and he’s getting bolder , she’s in danger and because she’s seen as the enemy her support is next to nothing but there are still some good guys out there and they come to her aid ….
Hannah enjoys rowing and it’s her release and I’ll be honest she makes it look rather tempting 😉I love her gentle heart and that volunteers at a shelter ❣️🐾and that’s how Oscar joins her family and bless his little canine heart he comes through when she needs it most ! Love you buddy 🥰🐾
Doyle is on a sabbatical after a rather harrowing case but when a friend calls in a favour he sees the real danger lurking ..,.
Things really get hairy at a stage and I’m so grateful Doyle is around and that he knows people that can help and just as it looks like everything is safe you get this eerie feeling and spot on some more hair raising action comes our way ! But all is well that ends well😉and there were some really “ oh my gosh “ moments for me where I thought this is it , she’s a goner and she’s braver than I would’ve been !

5 Stars Cruel Love (Hidden Valley Elite Book 6) by Isla Vaughn
Cruel Love is the sixth book in the Hidden Valley Elite Series and is a wonderfully written Contemporary Romance that I couldn’t put down until I finished. This is a Enemies to Lover’s Romance that is loaded with, drama, jealousy, secrets and so much more. Cruel Love picks up right where Cruel Hate left us and holy cow what a ride these two have taken us on. I highly recommend reading this series in order as the characters overlap and you get to know what had been going on . The characters are spot on and developed, relatable and real. They bring the story to life and you feel like you are right there with them. This is the conclusion of Aspen and Phoenix story. She thought she had it all but know he doesn’t have any memory of her or them being together. She will fight till the end fir the man she loves. Phoenix has no memory of who he one was and everything has changed. I don’t want to give to much away. I highly recommend reading this book to find out what happens next. This is my favorite yet but man this series just keeps getting better and better. I’m looking forward to what this author brings us next.

I so need someone to either punch Garrett or fire him because he needs to go. I knew he was going to be trouble from the beginning. I don’t like him. But I am totally about these boys growing up into the men the women need them to be.
Two years ago, Annabelle challenged herself to have a one night stand with Dakota, the uber-hot lead guitarist from the most popular band on the planet. Not only did she succeed but she never forgot how he made her feel, the tingles his touch left on her skin or the way he made her feel wanted. Annabelle has to see him one more time at her best friend’s wedding since he is best friends with the groom.
Even though Dakota could have a different woman every day, there is one woman that keeps occupying space in his brain. He will get the chance to see her again at The Monk’s wedding. Dakota wants to, needs to reconnect with her. Annabelle is everything he remembers plus so much more.
Annabelle gets a phone call to intern with the band. She can learn marketing and band management on the way to her MBA. Now, she only has to manage to stay away from Dakota until the band goes back out on tour. Except, Dakota’s main goal is to be wherever Annabelle is.
Garrett does what he does best and starts planting seeds of doubt and derision between Dakota and Annabelle. When the seeds take root and blossom, Dakota reverts back to his old ways. When Dakota realizes his error, he must find a way to win Annabelle back.
This series has been wonderful. Each story is full of heart and feeling. The characters have a realness to them. Except Garrett. I do hope that he gets what is coming to him. If you aren’t already a Balefire fan, this one will have you getting temporary flame tattoos and figuring out which undergarments you are flinging at the band!!

Newly pinned deputy Jolie Murdoch’s first big job as a McIntire County deputy is to locate a missing girl. What Jolie doesn’t expect is to stumble upon a corpse—the girl’s father–with a prime suspect still hanging around. But why would local bartender Xavier Hartmann go off the deep end and bludgeon a man to death?
A former marine, Xavier is barely coping with a traumatic brain injury, and he has no memory of what happened at the crime scene. He came to Eider to confront his past, not get embroiled in a murder as the number one suspect. To make matters worse, as the mystery deepens, Xavier finds himself drawn to the reluctant deputy.
As Jolie fights against mounting pressure to get to the truth, she realizes there’s more to Xavier than meets the eye. But someone is lingering on the fringes, determined to put a stop to her investigation and Xavier’s freedom. Will Jolie do her sworn duty or buck the status quo to give her and Xavier’s newfound passion a chance?
Winter Austin perpetually answers the question: “were you born in the winter?” with a flat “nope,” but believe her, there is a story behind her name.
A lifelong Mid-West gal with strong ties to the agriculture world, Winter grew up listening to the captivating stories told by relatives around a table or a campfire. As a published author, she learned her glass half-empty personality makes for a perfect suspense/thriller writer. Taking her ability to verbally spin a vivid and detailed story, Winter translated that into writing deadly romantic suspense, mysteries, and thrillers.
When she’s not slaving away at the computer, you can find Winter supporting her daughter in cattle shows, seeing her three sons off into the wide-wide world, loving on her fur babies, prodding her teacher husband, and nagging at her flock of hens to stay in the coop or the dogs will get them.
She is the author of multiple novels, with more on the way.

This was a fast read. There was a good amount packed into it though. The little girl is cute and sassy. There was instant chemistry between the main characters and you can’t wait until they finally admit it. This has a great story line and wonderful characters.

The Truth About Myths is the 3rd book I’ve read in The Winemaker’s Series and it’s probably falling in 2nd best. Book 2 definitely was my favorite but book 3 is coming in a close 2nd. The author writes wonderful tales about characters dealing with the aftermath of the exile, disaster to the grape vines, their very livelihood. Henrique is ready to leave Portugal, he has just one last thing to accomplish to make that happen. He needs the king’s signature on the deed to sell his property before being able to leave for London. However the king has other plans. He wants Henrique to escort his sister to Spain, even resorting to blackmail. Unfortunately for Henrique it’s going to be a harder task than he thought. He’s attracted & intrigued by the princess, to the point being around her is sometimes difficult. At the same time he wants to be there. Isabel wanted to decline, but was encouraged by her brother to go to Spain. To see what’s going on within their government. “Get close and report back” type of thing. What she wasn’t expecting was the man from the garden being her escort. She will do everything to resist him but her body betrays her at times. When she learns the truth that the exiled queen’s son is returning, her anxiety picks up. This can’t be good. Will his return have something to do with her? How do Henrique and Isabel handle their attraction to one another? Those questions and so many more come about throughout this book. I felt like for Isabel this was a story of self discovery, and the author displays that well. This series is different and gets better as it goes. I encourage everyone to start with book 1, though it reads well as a standalone. I just want everyone to experience the trials and tribulations of all these characters.

I read this book pretty quickly. It is a Christmas romance similar to Hallmark or Lifetime Christmas movies. I personally love those types of movies. I think this would actually make a cute movie. It is well written and had great character development.
