I cannot believe the way this book was written! The sparks between the characters was so hot it almost came off of the page. I couldn’t put this book down, it was so amazing! The way this was written it felt as though I was going to school with them as well as going through every situation/circumstance that they faced. I cannot wait to read more in this series and see what happens with these two!!

Wild For Me (The Balefire Series Book #3) by Tam DeRudder Jackson – Review by Angela Hayes

Wild For Me (Balefire, #3)Wild For Me by Tam DeRudder Jackson
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

4 Stars

Wild For Me is the Third book in the Balefire series by Tam DeRudder Jackson. It is a New Adult contemporary rockstar romance with second chances, jealousy, insecurity, baggage, emotion, tension, chemistry, sparks, drama, angst, hot spicy details, and taking a chance on love.
This is an on-going series, but each instalment focuses on a different couple- so this could be read as a standalone if you wanted. But, having said that, there is a cast of recurring characters and interesting details and developments in the previous books that you might want to know going into this story. Plus, who doesn’t love a great rockstar romance- and this series follow the members of rock group Balefire- and what a story they each have to tell!
To be honest, I wasn’t sure I was going to enjoy this instalment, because I hadn’t particularly liked our MMC, Dakota, in previous books. But I am happy to say that getting to know him better here, really gave me a better understanding of him, and he well and truly won me over.
From a one-night-stand two years previously Dakota and Annabelle come face to face at a friend’s wedding. Sparks fly- simmering chemistry ignites, and things definitely heat up. But these two will have to deal with a bit of baggage if they are to find happiness together. So, buckle up for a rocking good read.
Happy Reading…

Thank you, Tam DeRudder Jackson!

Lies – Truth – Love (Which Comes First Series Book #1) by Marina Hanna – Review by Angela Hayes

Lies - Truth - LoveLies – Truth – Love by Marina Hanna
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

4.5 Stars

Lies – Truth – Love is the first book in the ‘Which Comes First’ series by Marina Hanna. This is a wonderful contemporary romance with secrets, lies, miscommunications, misunderstandings, angst, drama, emotion, humour, push-pull, danger, tension, chemistry, and finding love unexpectedly.
I love the way Ms. Hanna weaves her stories, she always manages to completely captivated me right from the very first page. Her characters are so well developed with their own unique personalities, quirks, and flaws. That’s not to say that I didn’t frustrate me to death at times, because they did- there were moments where I so wanted to shake them and tell them to get their act together- but thankfully they finally did. This is a fun romance about finding love unexpectedly- with enough drama and angst to fuel the tension and add extra interest.
I loved Ethan and Olivia, even when they frustrated me. They are both carrying baggage from their previous relationships which make them wary about love. But that gives them a vulnerability which makes them relatable, and in turn made them easy to connect with and invest in. So, what happens when Ethan omits something important when telling Olivia about himself? What happens when secrets are revealed, and the truth comes out? Is forgiveness in the cards? Will these two take a chance on love? This story is well worth the read to find out.
I am really looking forward to seeing what Ms. Hanna does next.
Happy Reding…

Thank you, Marina Hanna!

This was a good 4 star read. I really like Rockstar romance so I was looking forward to reading it. I really enjoyed the characters, Jordan and Alexis. These two have a past and when fate brings them back together things get very interesting. Will old feelings reignite? Can they mend their broken hearts and finally get a HEA?

Overall I really enjoyed this book. We get drama, jealousy and so much more. My emotions were all over the place. All of the characters added a great element to the story. Lies - Truth - LoveLies – Truth – Love by Marina Hanna
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Which Comes First? LIES – TRUTH – LOVE.
I have not read one book by Marina that I have not loved. Her writing is spot on, and she has a wicked sense of humour that comes through so loud and clear. LIES – TRUTH – LOVE is a standalone contemporary romance with everything that makes this story a wonderful read.
This is Ethan and Olivia’s story and their path to love is as rocky as it comes when there is miscommunication and misunderstandings.
Lies – are not so easily forgiven but the heart wants what the heart wants.
It’s so easy for the characters to capture your heart and feel invested in them.
It is a brilliantly written quick read, but it has everything to keep you thoroughly engaged. I absolutely loved every minute of it.
The are some very sexy scenes where the chemistry sizzled and jumped right off the page. With lots of passion, a boatload of desire, a dash or two of sass, a few intense moments, a drop or two of angst and a little drama and some super smoking hot times makes for some fabulous reading. underlying danger
Hearts maybe broken, a few intense moments, lots of passion, angst and a little drama and you can’t put this book down. This story has some danger, drama, suspense, intrigue, and romance plus there is a few emotional scenes that will make your heart ache.
I have said it before, but I will say it again – You know when you find an author and her words just click and you can’t get enough. Well, that is what happens when I read Marina’s work.

Trust me and do yourself a favour and start reading Marina’s books today.

Wild For Me (Balefire, #3)Wild For Me by Tam DeRudder Jackson
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

4.5 stars
Wild For Me is the third book in the Balefire series by Tam DeRudder Jackson. All the books are about a rock ‘n’ roll band Balefire. I suggest you read them all in order to get the whole picture of the characters, the band, their topsy turvy world. They can each be read as standalones though thank God because I came in all over the place.
This is a second chance tale that you won’t want to put down. It is an erotic contemporary rock ‘n’ roll romance story.
The series focus’ on each member of the band Balefire and this is Dakota and Annabelle’s story. It is passionate and intense and full of sex, booze, and rock ‘n’ roll. This sensuous and seductive story pulls you in.
I like we get a deeper insight and exposure of who these characters really are as the story is told in dual POV. The secondary characters help move the story forward but I really, really wanted to take out the smarmy band manager. He so rubs me the wrong way.
Sparks fly in this sexy and hot, steamy and seductive, passionate and intense tale.
It was only meant to be one night, just like all the others. Only it wasn’t, it was the best of his life and that is saying something. When he stumbles across her again, he is given a second chance. He won’t let her go again so he jumps into action come hell or high water.
Annabelle walked away from the best night of her life. Now he stands before her looking like he wants to devour her.
If you like erotic stories that are super sexy, have a little angst and a lot of drama then you need to get your hands on this series. You won’t regret it.

This is once again another good book by this author that I have read. I really like how the author is able to balance romance and drama. I was not able to put this book down and could not wait to see how it would all end. The chemistry between the characters was sizzling and the author brought them to life. I really like how there is drama surrounding the love story as in real life as well there is not really always a straight forward means to the end. Also the author is able to show that sometimes the least expected can lead to forever. Also that there is always a road to forgiveness and sometimes we must take a leap of faith. I will definitely be reading more from this author in the future.

This book is a great story with characters that really bring it to life. I instantly connected with them from the moment I started reading and they pulled me in to the story. I thought the author developed them both really well. You get to know them, their history and see how it influences their present. They are the sort of characters that you really get behind and will them to find their happy ending.
The story is really well written. There was a lot going on and it definitely kept my interest the whole way through. This is the sort of book that you don’t realise just how much of it you have read because it is so easy to get caught up in. This was a great book to read and I would recommend anyone give it a try.

Ignite My Heart (North Fork Series Book 2) by Alicia Street – Review by Nicole Thompson

“Ignite My Heart” by Alicia Street is a blazing 5-star romance with sparks flying between Blake and Morgan, a bodyguard and an educator with clashing personalities. Ciara’s adoration for Blake adds charm.

Morgan’s struggle to open his heart to Blake intensifies as he witnesses their heartwarming interactions. Frustration mounts as they struggle to communicate.

Fawn’s presence, though disliked, adds drama. The book works as a standalone in the North Fork Series.

Well-crafted characters, sizzling chemistry, and baby mama drama make this a compelling read. Highly recommended; you’ll likely binge the whole series.

This is the third book in this series and is one of my favorites. I highly suggest reading the previous two books in this series as they are just as great as this one. I enjoyed this author’s writing style and added to the entertainment value of the story. Details that give the story realistic feel and characters that pop off the pages and into your heart. This book is no different. This is a well written story that is fast paced, engaging and easy to read. A story where attraction between two people is so strong they find it hard to resist. Dakota and Annabelle are great characters that add so much to the story. They have great chemistry and I enjoyed watching their growth. They are strong, connectable characters that truly made the story for me. What happens between these two you don’t want to miss. I highly recommend this book and this author.

Dakota shows us a little bit of his other side. I enjoyed the writing in this one. I’m also spoiled because the author brings up a little about our local landmark, Red Rocks. It’s an entertaining, spicy, and romantic read that I highly recommend if you love rocker romance.

Ignite My Heart (North Fork Series Book 2)Ignite My Heart by Alicia Street
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This book is book two of the series. It can be read as a standalone. I didn’t read book one prior to reading this and didn’t feel that I lost anything. However, it’s a good read so I’ll definitely go back and read book one.

Blake never considered being a nanny. However, you have to do what you have to do when you face dwindling savings after losing your job. That’s how Blake finds herself nannying for Morgan and his daughter. Morgan is facing a custody battle with his ex and the best way he can protect his daughter is with a live in nanny. That’s where Blake comes in. He didn’t expect her to fit so well.

This story is well written and the characters are great. Blake is relatable and her chemistry with Morgan was definitely there! This was a quick read but I couldn’t put it down!

Lies-Truth- Love by Marina Hanna -Review by Kerry Carr

Lies - Truth - LoveLies – Truth – Love by Marina Hanna
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I enjoyed this romance story. The author did a great job with the characters making them relatable and engaging. The chemistry and attraction between Olivia and Ethan is pretty instant but both have had problems with relationships in the past so it is easy to understand why they aren’t wanting to jump into things too fast.
Olivia’s last relationship ended badly. After supporting her partner financially all through his time working towards his chosen career she is devasted when he leaves her. Now she has a wedding to attend and needs a date but there is one thing he needs to have and that is a job. She is not prepared to find herself in the same position as she didn’t before.
Ethan’s past relationship was similar except his partner was just using him for his money. Now he is wary of women wanting him just for his money so when he meets Olivia despite how attracted and intrigued by her he is, he decides to not tell her the full truth. But telling her that he is in between things she assumes he is jobless.
As their connection grows and as much as they try they can’t deny their feelings for each other but what will happen when the lies Ethan had told comes out. Will Olivia be happy that the man she wants to be with is financially secure so doesn’t need to rely on her or will she be angry that he lied to her.
Their story is interesting and full of ups and downs. I can see why Ethan felt the need to lie but I can also see why Olivia reacts the way that she does. How can you trust someone when it turns out the person you thought you knew you actually don’t know at all. I can understand Olivia’s feelings of hurt. She isn’t a gold digger so she isn’t interested in spending his money it was the fact that he lied to her.
I felt every emotion of these characters and while I understand both of their reactions and apprehensions I was hoping they would get their HEA. Will Olivia be able to forgive the lie? Or will that lie mean she won’t be able to trust Ethan? Will this break what potentially could have been a lasting loving relationship?

Wild For Me was a good read. While I have not read the previous books in this series I did not feel like I was missing much. It can be read as a stand alone. I think at this point we have all read enough romance novels to know what’s going to happen however the characters were nice and the plot kept my attention! The spice level was stepped up in this book. My biggest issue which is why I keep going between three or four star rating is the manager in this book. The band knows they have a manager who is sexually harassing people borderline sexual assault and nothing is done about it. The band says oh he’s a good manager. It made my blood boil the entire time I was reading it!

This is Dakota and Annabel’s story. A hot as hell one night stand that leads to so much more. I wasn’t sure how this book was going to go as I didn’t like Dakota in the first two books, so it was great to get a different side of him. This book quickly changed my mind. With good characterisation and a mix of fun, romance, drama and chemistry. Highly recommend.

This is the second book in the North Fork series, but can easily be read as a standalone without feeling like you missed a beat from not reading the first book. To me this was a very well written romance with some added baby mama drama. This is about Blake and Morgan’s story, they have some great chemistry, and is overall a great story! I felt like the author put great detail into the story as a whole. To me the characters are very well written and mostly enjoyable (except for the baby mama!). I was very easily drawn into reading this story without any issues and didn’t want to put it down till I was done! This was a quick read that didn’t disappoint and was very entertaining! I definitely recommend!

When one of her own gets taken out Deputy Rivers is put on the case. Add to that a bunch if robberies taking place and they have to call in the big guns, her former flame Detective Hunt. He thought he was doing her a favor by leaving her when he started being blackmailed, but they’re about to be to be in close quarters once again. Will they keep things strictly professional or risk another broken heart? I have read these books somewhat out of order, but they are all worth reading. It was great to see Deputy Rivers grow as a character and she has grown a lot. I also like the take the author puts into how agent Hunt’s mind works. I have lined myself up to read book 4, but first I must go read these to get a better understanding of everything that has gone on. This is a great whodunit and will keep you guessing as you turn the pages.

Dakota

Annabelle Stewart, all tight leather skirt and hot lace panties, thundered into my life for one night after a rock show and calmly drove away the next day. She should have been like any other one-night stand I’ve had over the last ten years touring with Balefire. But she wasn’t. At odd moments, I catch myself thinking about her, wondering if I made as big an impression on her as she did on me.

Then I walk into the rehearsal for our drummer’s wedding, and who’s standing with the bride? The hottie who keeps me awake with thoughts of our one night together. Beautiful, smart, and sassy as hell, Annabelle sets me on fire with her kisses and leaves me hanging. But I’ve got plans for her.

Annabelle

I never expected to see him again. Two years after hooking up with Dakota Perri after a Balefire concert, I’d convinced myself that night was a fantasy. But the way he looks at me during Jack and Clio’s wedding, like he remembers every second of our one-night stand, lights me up. Too bad I blew it.

Then I score a management internship with the band, an opportunity guaranteed to land me a scholarship with a top graduate program—if I don’t earn a reputation for sleeping my way to success. Which is a problem. I see Dakota every day. Every time we’re together, the sparks fly faster and hotter. If I want to achieve my goals, I have to resist him. But how can I resist a man as panty-meltingly hot as Dakota Perri when he says he’s wild for me?

Cruel Hate (Hidden Valley Elite #5)Cruel Hate by Isla Vaughn
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Cruel Hate is the 5th book in the Hidden Valley Elite series. I am sooooo hooked on this series, and am always happy when another is released. Especially since the author is queen of Cliff Hangers!! This book shouldn’t be read as a stand alone, as it continues from the previous books, picking up right where Cruel Start left off. We continue the story of Phoenix and Aspen, as they try to navigate their difficult situation. Both are trying hard not to end up like their parents, even as they find them self in the same situation. I love both characters, as well as the supporting characters. The close knit group that Phoenix has with his brother, cousins and their girls friends is very sweet and realistic. Aspen quickly became a protected member of their group and fits in perfectly. Now…. please hurry in releasing Cruel Love so I can see how this ends!

Wild For Me (Balefire, #3)Wild For Me by Tam DeRudder Jackson
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Annabelle is a rock n roll fan, and attended a Balefire concert 2 years ago. Attending a rock n roll concert requires dressing for the part, so Annabelle dressed in sexy lace and tight leather, and it ended up paying off – she had the best night of her life with band member Dakota. She left the next day and convinced herself she made it all up, knowing Dakota was a ladies man with many notches on his bedpost. Dakota expected the same, but has been surprised ever since by thoughts of her and imagining he was able to find her again.

Fast forward to now, Annabelle was asked to be in her friend Clio’s wedding – who happens to be marrying the drummer from Balefire, Jack. She had never expected to see Dakota up close and personal again, and was sure he couldn’t possibly have remembered her – until she catches the fire in his eyes as he stares at her and realizes he hasn’t forgotten her.

After a mistake on Annabelle’s part, she ends up with a management internship with the Balefire band with a guarantee of a scholarship in a leading program for graduates – if the band manager doesn’t succeed in getting her to lose her opportunity, first. Honestly, he’s a real jerk and has his sights set on ruining her opportunity in any way he can. He is obviously threatened by Annabelle. While she is protecting herself from the manager on one side of things, she is being sucked back in by Dakota on the other. While their scenes together are hot, there is a lot of struggling through their relationship because they refuse to speak to one another, and Dakota is constantly making crude statements about his past and never sharing any feelings for her. They had hot chemistry and scenes together, but it is a little hard to follow along with them being a love match when they are virtually strangers throughout the book and have zero communication skills. The band and crew look out for Annabelle and are offering some level of protection, which feels like it tells a lot to what they think about the two of them together.

I enjoyed this book and look forward to starting at book 1 to learn more about the rest of the band!

Born to Die (The McIntire County Series Book 2) by Winter Austin – Review by Kristin Boutelle

Born to Die (The McIntire County Series: #2)Born to Die by Winter Austin
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

The beginning of the book has you in suspense as to what is going on at that moment and keeps you reading nonstop. This book is very well written and it flows really well. All the characters are very well developed which makes for a good story. The characters are also very relatable. I like how the author includes details that were in the first book into this one, it does make the book series interrelated which is all the better.

When We Fell Again by Julie Archer – Review by Lorralei Hoerner

When We Fell AgainWhen We Fell Again by Julie Archer
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

5 Stars 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

Wonderful second chance contemporary romance story that I really loved. This is a new author to me and I was excited to jump right in and start turning the pages. When We Fell again gave me all the feels that I love about reading romance…….angst, second chances, spark and sizzle and the emotional roller coaster that this story of Jordan and Alexis go through.

Jordan and Alexis knew each other years ago during their time at the university…but jealousy leads into a total break up that left each of them in different directions. When Jordan and his band are now up touring again after a long break…..their new tour manager is none other than Alexis. The reunion of Jordan and Alexis at first is a bit cold….still thinking about their hurt past and their break up. When Jordan sustains an injury and Alexis has to help monitor medication and keep him on track…. past truths come out that are not easy……

Will Jordan and Alexis’ love for each other come back…or will jealousy come between them again.

Definitely read and find out!! I really loved this story and I am looking forward to more from this author!

Born to Die (The McIntire County Series Book 2) by Winter Austin – Review by Tausha Treadway

Born to Die (The McIntire County Series: #2)Born to Die by Winter Austin
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Born to Die (The McIntire County Series Book 2) by Winter Austin. I am loving this series and I can’t wait for the next. This author is quickly becoming one of my very favorites. This can be read as a standalone but I recommend reading them in order to get to know all the characters. This is Cassy’s story. Cassy is a Deputy in Elder, Iowa and there is a new case that is creating havoc in town. They are going to have to call in Special Agent Boyce Hunt to come back to Elder to help with the case. Cassy is not happy with that because Boyce broke her heart to the point she doesn’t think she will ever try again. Due to Cassy’s past she is very shattered and that past left her broken to the point she never wanted to try again but she trusted Boyce and gave him her heart and all he did was love her and leave her. Boyce has demons in his past as well, such as his mother is a criminal, and he doesn’t want Cassy to get hurt by that. He loves Cassy but knows she deserves better than him. Will he be able to convince Cassy he won’t hurt her ever again and will they be able to find the criminal before more murders occur? Read this wonderful romantic suspense to find out!

When We Fell Again: An angsty, second chance rockstar romanceWhen We Fell Again: An angsty, second chance rockstar romance by Julie Archer
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

What an amazing story. I love the “rock star” trope. I instantly fell in love with Lex and Jordan. They have history, but they also have this amazing chemistry they can’t deny. This was well written and I am eager to read more books by Julie Archer. She truly knows how to build a world I enjoy getting lost in. I connected with her characters and just didn’t want to put this book down!
Highly recommend!!!
