I absolutely loved the story of Morgan and Blake. The way in which they meet is just cute and funny, and the fact that Blake and Morgan’s daughter Ciara get along is just perfect. Of course it is a guarantee in this situation that they would fall in love, but not without some headaches along the way. I like that the added drama of Morgan’s ex Fawn was put in the story, it added so much extra and made my love for Blake and Morgan grow because of my irritation for Fawn and all her ridiculous antics. Sweet ending and lovely ending.

The Guardsman is Book Two in The Olympic Peninsula Series. It is a romantic suspense novel that centers around the character of Liam. Although it can be read as a standalone, I do highly recommend reading the first book to gain a better understanding of the characters and their backstories. Liam was mentioned in the first book as the twin brother to Ali. He was missing and presumed dead after a terrorist attack occurred while he was stationed abroad. Although three years has passed, Ali has never given up hope that he would be found. When a private investigator finds Liam working as security in Jerusalem he agrees to move home to be with his sister, Ali, and her husband, Joe.
Liam has had a troublesome past that has left him emotionally scarred. While they were growing up in the foster care system, he did his best to keep himself and Ali safe. They both had a rough childhood and Liam practically raised his twin sister. Now three years after the terrorist attack he still feels broken. Liam is trying to piece his life back together and move forward from the trauma of his past. He hopes to do that with the help of his sister Ali, and her husband, Joe. What Liam does not expect is for his entire life to change when he meets Joe’s sister, Theresa, who is also staying with them. Theresa is fleeing a bad relationship and seeking a safe place to regroup and relax. When Liam meets Theresa, he does not like her and feels that she is a bit of a high society princess. Yet, he cannot help but find himself attracted to her. When mysterious little accidents begin to occur around Theresa, Liam steps in to protect her. As the two spend time together Liam cannot deny that he loves her feisty attitude and enjoys the witty banter between them.
This was another great book by this talented author, and I was thrilled to read Liam’s story. After book one I was wondering if he would have his own book. The storyline was riveting, and the characters were lovable and engaging. Liam was a broken man with a lot of trauma from his past that he was desperately trying to overcome. I loved watching how his character grew and evolved through the book. Theresa was an unlikely romance interest for Liam, but she seemed to be just what he needed to move forward in his life. Liam felt happy, alive, and hopeful when he was around Theresa. The problem was whether he could allow himself to feel happiness and fall in love. This was a beautifully written story with trauma, loss, despair, grief, hope, passion, romance, and unexpected love. I highly recommend this book!

This was my first book by these authors and they did not disappoint at all. The book had a lot of emotions involved. The details was on point. The world building and characters was well thought of. It definitely was a page turner for me. I was on the edge of my seat wanting to know what happened next.

A Forever Kind of Thing is a young adult contemporary romance that centers around the character of a teen girl named Mina. Mina is used to being bullied and teased because she has grown up poor and wears secondhand clothing. Her classmates are cruel, mock her, call her names, and spread rumors about her mom. When a new boy enters Mina’s fifth grade classroom, she cannot help but notice how cute he is and the confidence he exudes. Mina expects him to avoid her like all the other students and sit beside one of what would be considered a ‘cool kid’. Instead, the new student sits beside Mina and starts to talk to her. Mina tries to warn him that if he talks to her that he will be mocked and explains to him how the other kids bully and tease her. Rather than running scared the new student introduces himself as Wes, and Mina learns that they have a lot in common. Mina and Wes become fast friends and for the next two years the pair are practically joined at the hip. Then Wes suddenly vanishes, and Mina is left with a lot of questions and a broken heart.
Fast forward five years and Mina’s life has taken a drastic turn after her mom has married a wealthy man. Suddenly Mina has the life she thought she could only dream of. She is attending a prestigious school, wearing designer clothing, and is the most popular girl in school. When Wes suddenly reappears and pops back into Mina’s life, she is worried that he will reveal her secrets and ruin her new life. Wes has not had an easy life over the last five years as he has remained poor and in the foster system. Old feelings resurface and Mina is conflicted between her new life of popularity and the love of someone who truly knows her and loves her regardless of her background. The push and pull between Mina and Wes takes the two down a rocky road as they try to navigate their dark pasts and their feelings for one another. Can Wes and Mina ever truly have a life together?
I loved the writing style of these authors and found the storyline compelling. The characters were ones that I was immediately drawn to and found myself relating to. Mina was smart, strong, feisty, and determined to have a better life than what she had. She was tired of being bullied and teased for being poor and wearing secondhand clothing. Her classmates were cruel, and she struggled to feel worthy of anyone. Mina wanted more out of life and dreamed of leaving her small town. When she met Wes, she found someone who saw her for who she was and genuinely cared for her. He did not care about where she came from or that she wore secondhand clothing. Wes was also someone who grew up poor and had a less than desirable life growing up within the foster system. When Mina and Wes became friends, it changed both of their lives. They found friendship, love, hope, strength, courage, and allies in one another. That all came with a price though when their friendship seemingly dissolved into thin air. Love and hope turned to grief, loss, and heartache. When Mina and Wes were reunited after years apart the feelings were still there but the two had led very different lives and taken very different paths. The ensuing journey was one full of angst, drama, betrayal, hurt, anger, and second chances. I highly recommend this book!

I thought this was a lovely story from the moment I started reading. I really warmed to the main characters in this story and I thought the connection they had was great to see. It was believable, engaging and well written. I was swept up in their journey and really enjoyed getting to know them. The author managed to strike the perfect balance in how this book was written. There was passion and chemistry but it was also lighthearted and entertaining. It is the second book in the series but can be read as a standalone. This is a truly enjoyable book that I would highly recommend.

I’m not sure why I thought this book would be about anything but murders and cops but I did; Legitimately thought it was about religion and other things but was surprised to start reading and it wasn’t. I love the storyline following Nic through her days as she struggles with ptsd and Con who just wants to help her and figure out the problem all while trying to catch a murderer. Shew. It is a suspenseful tale, full of twists, turns, chemistry and so much more.

This is a great YA Romance. I really enjoyed Wes and Mina’s story and how you can’t always control what happens to you and when, but sometimes things works out how and when they are supposed to. Thomas and Harris did a fantastic job not only with the character development, but also with the plot line. I thoroughly enjoyed reading this novel and I actively try to avoid high school drama ;). This was well done and a super cute and quick read and I look forward to more from these authors.

This is the second book in The Olympic Penisula series. It can be read on its own however for me personally I recommend reading the first book as the characters are linked together. This is a gripping romance that I couldn’t put down. The chemistry between our 2 main characters was intense and despite each of them having problems they couldn’t deny their connection. I really felt for Liam. He has been through so much with him being involved in a terrorist attack and presumed dead for 3 years he has been missing. He has a lot to deal with and suffer mentally from that incident. When he is found by an investigator he agrees to move and be with his sister and her husband while he decides what to do next and how he can move forward. Also staying at the estate is Teresa. She is going through upset of her own by fleeing a broken engagement and a mother who is trying to control every aspect of her life. When she meets Liam she is immediately attracted to him but she can’t figure out why he has taken an instant dislike to her? All Liam sees is a rich princess who he doesn’t trust but when she starts to get very accident prone and in need of someone to look out and protect her Liam can’t stop himself from stepping into that role. Could Teresa be the person to finally help Liam through his traumatic events of his past? Why is Teresa seemingly so accident prone, is it just the way she is or could something more sinister be working against her? When 2 people are trying to fix themselves can they fix each other at the same time? This is a heartwarming story and the author does an amazing job of bringing the characters to life and giving them depth that makes you feel invested in their story.

Awe, what a sweet story! I loved how Blake and Morgan were paired up. Ciara was a sweet blessing even with the teen attitude at 9. This story was so well-developed. The heartbreak of divorce can bring some pain to all involved and I felt the pain in reading the story. I was rooting for them all as I read. The antogonist was totally the b word. I was glad that Morgan put his foot down to protect Ciara. A beautiful story that made for a wonderful weekend read for me. These were wonderful characters.

Atonement is the first book in The McIntire County Series and is a Romance Suspense that will have you turning the pages till the end. I’ve read several books by this author and her style of writing and attention to detail along with developed characters make for a wonderful story. Atonement is about redemption .Nicolette is a former Marine and a Deputy for McIntire County she suffers from PTSD. A bunch of suicides start happening and Nicolette along with help from Detective Con they try to uncover the truth behind the suicides. But past secrets rear their ugly heads. Can Con help Nicolette or is it to late? There are plenty of twists that will keep you glued to the pages. I highly recommend reading this mystery suspense to find out what happens next. Im already ready to dive into the next book.

Ignite My Heart is the second book in the North Fork Series by Alicia Street. It is a wonderfully heart-warming and well-written contemporary romance. When I saw the beautifully romantic cover, I didn’t hesitate to one-click a copy to dive into. I thought the title and blurb seemed familiar, and when I started reading, I realised that I had already read it a few years ago when it was part of the ‘Irresistible- Fall Into Romance’ Anthology. I am happy to say that I enjoyed it just as much this time around. Morgan desperately needs a live-in nanny for his adorable nine-year-old daughter. Blake is down on her luck and desperately needs a job. But being a nanny isn’t how she saw her life unfolding. But her situation means she can’t afford to be picky- and so the story begins… This is a touching story with plenty of chemistry, emotion, drama, friends’ sister, falling for the nanny, forced proximity, family dynamics, second chances, a little angst, and finding love unexpectedly. The characters are really well-developed individuals with their own unique personalities, quirks, and flaws. They easily drew me into their story and kept me turning the pages to follow along while their story unfolded. I was completely invested in them and their story. I read the book in one very easy sitting as it’s not only an engrossing read, but also has a great pace which makes for a smooth, easy, and enjoyable read. Happy Reading…

The incredibly talented Isla Vaughn has done it again! Every book in the Hidden Valley Elite series has absolutely captured me, drawn me in, and kept me wanting more! The writing in each book is superb and Cruel Hate is no exception. I love Phoenix and Aspen’s story, it is so raw, angsty, and feels so real. Please do yourself a favor and read this series. After reading the first book of this series the Silent woodsman. I was anticipating this book’s release. I could not wait to see what happened while Liam was “dead”. I was happy to have some that backstop and I also was happy that we got to see Ali’s babies and her happiness with Joe🥰🥰. But well, this book had me feeling all the feelings. And although Ali and Joe’s Book was great. I think Theresa and Liam are my favorite so far. I hope we get to see more of all of them in the next book, The Magic man i cant wait til november Ps 🙄🙄Ulla am I right

This was a great read. Gwyn did an amazing job at tying this book to the end of the first book of this series. This book can be read alone but I recommend reading the first book first to get the full background story.

Ignite My Heart is the newly released second book in the North Fork series by Alicia Street. I have read many of Alicia’s books and have really enjoyed each one and this one was no different. This sweet contemporary romance tale is a quick and easy read and one to curl up with for some me time. It is a wonderfully written heartwarming tale that hits you in all the feels. There is drama, angst, passion, hope, love, wonder, some steamy love scenes and way much more in this heartfelt tale. It was so easy to fall in love with these realistic well-developed characters Blake and Morgan who are just as flawed as the rest of us and become invested in their journey. I was so drawn into the story that before I knew it, I was turning the last page. I can’t wait to see where the series goes.

This was a great read. I was pulled in from the beginning. I truly enjoyed the author’s writing style. Mina and Wes have had a rough start in their lives. These two became quick friends and their feelings grew from there, and then one day Wes leaves and Mina has no idea where he went. A few years later they end up at the same high school. Mina and Wes have missed each other over the years but they both have changed. There are a lot of emotions and ups and downs while they navigate their feelings. I look forward to reading more books by this author. I highly recommend this book.

This book man! It has a big piece of my heart that I willingly gave. These authors are new to me but I’m definitely looking into them each for more. The characters in this book from page one had me wishing I lived in their world, I was completely hooked. Wes and Mina had my emotions all over the place. There wasn’t any point where I wasn’t 100% invested in this story. I’m so glad I happened to see this book. It’s definitely in my top ten for this year and I can’t wait to read it all over again eventually. Five stars all the way and highly recommended.

Ignite My Heart was an easy and engaging read. Blake is smart as a whip, but can’t land a permanent teaching job. Morgan is a single father looking to find help with his daughter after relocating. Blake’s brother has the perfect plan to get Morgan to hire Blake as a nanny. It’s a tempting job, but Blake has a lot of baggage that may prevent her from fulfilling all the duties of nannying. Especially when Morgan is nothing short of stunning. The story was easy to follow. The ending was a bit rushed, but still exactly what I needed from this book.

Such a good mystery-suspense novel with a little bit of romance thrown in. I was drawn in very quickly and didn’t want to put it down. All of the characters were so well written and great for a small town. I also loved that the main characters PTSD was present and addressed in the book, I think it is an important part of the story and a reality that does not always get enough attention, with how it can affect a person and those around them. Alot of emotions and twists and turns, I definitely can’t wait for the next book.

Every page had you hanging on every sentence and I couldn’t wait to see what would happen. It is a very unique story with even compelling people. The story really transports you into this world. I couldn’t put the book down.

This is a cute YA second chance romance. These two meet as young kids, both residing on the poor side of town one in a trailer park and one in a boys home. Instantly hit it off, until one day he is just gone. Fast forward a few years and her life is vastly different and he is once again in the boys home. They have to learn to navigate even a friendship with all the changes that have occurred over the years. Cute, recommend to anyone you likes a high school romance.

This romantic thriller is the first book in the McIntire County series, and I was hooked from the start. It’s a well-written novel that you can’t help but try to solve the mystery alongside the characters and the well-placed twists throw you for a loop in the best way. The best display of the great writing is in the character of Nic and her battling with PTSD. Now a Sheriff’s deputy she begins investigating a string of apparent suicides, but her PTSD is affecting her worse as her past is brought ever closer to the surface. As someone familiar with the effects of PTSD it was interesting to see how this would be written and I must say that I was impressed. Obviously not everyone’s PTSD is the same, but this showed a deep understanding of how it can affect the person suffering and those close to them. I enjoyed the development of the relationship develop between Nic and Con, his understanding and patience as she resists his help and eventually seeing the relationship become more was rewarding among the negativity being faced. This was a great read and I look forward to reading the rest of the series!

An enjoyable and engaging contemporary romance with a rockstar second chance at love theme. Band Idol Rev’s frontman Jordan and tour manger Lex have a complicated history, but now they are having to work together on the bands comeback tour. Whilst Jordan is determined to win Lex back and change his behaviour to make their relationship work this time round, Lex is just as determined not to fall for her ex again. However their undeniable chemistry is still there and so are their old feelings and soon they both decide that their relationship is worth a second chance. Then someone from Jordan’s past starts playing hell with his life which leads him on a path of self destruction, threatening both his future with the band and his relationship with Lex. When Jordan’s past demons come back to haunt him Lex is worried that he’s going to break her heart for a second time. The angsty storyline along with the realistic characters kept me happily turning the pages. The chemistry between Lex and Jordan sizzled off the page and I liked how their relationship developed throughout the story. The descriptive narrative brought the setting vividly to life and made me feel immersed in the couples world.

This was a gripping first book in a new series and I was hooked throughout. Former marine sniper and current McIntire County deputy Nicolette Rivers is investigating a rash of unexplained suicides in the small town of Eider, Iowa. Nic suffers from PTSD and has her own deadly secrets, but things become dangerous for her when her investigations result in her becoming involved in a devious killer’s twisted plot. Eider police detective Con O’Hanlon is also assigned to uncover the truth behind the suicides, but Nic keeps refuses his help. However, when tragedy strikes Con is willing to help cover up the fallout, whilst ‘The Priest’ is keen on exposing Nic’s secret. This was a romantic suspense with plenty of drama and plot twists that kept me guessing as to the outcome of the story. The small town setting came alive though the descriptive narrative, making me feel immersed in the story. I felt engaged with the main characters, Nic and Con and found them both likeable and relatable. Nic’s PTSD was dealt with honestly and sensitively as part of the storyline. An entertaining and enjoyable read and I look forward to book two in the series.

A Forever Kind of Thing by Carrie Thomas and Melinda Harris. This is a great young adult romance. Its about Mina who is a odd girl that hates school because she is bullied and treated horribly. This small town has treated her nothing short of inhumane. She feels like she is all alone in the world until 5th grade and a weird boys shows up for his first day of. They become instant best friends. They do everything together and eventually fall in love. They have both been handed hard losses in life and they are surviving the best they know how. Now they found each other everything seems a little easier. When out of the blue Wes and his family move with no notice to Mina. She is lost again. Going on without Wes is hard but she manages and has a pretty successful ride. Her mom marries someone that has money and Mina inherits the benefits of that. She’s wearing cute clothes, got all the cool friends and even has a boyfriend when Wes shows up at her college after getting transferred. What will Mina do? Will she give up her new friends and life to go back to Wes? Such a heart wrenching young adult read.

This was a really great read. I was hooked into what I was reading quite early one. This is the first time that I have read a book by this author and I loved how engaging her writing style was. I really liked Blake and I did feel for her at the beginning of the story, for her husband to do what he did was awful but the sexual chemistry between her and Morgan was so hot! I was so, so hoping for them to end up together, in my opinion they were both what each other needed in their lives. I really liked all of the characters I the tory, well some more than others! The story had a really good pace and flow to it and I would highly recommend it to other readers. I’ll definitely be looking to read more from this author in the future.

Atonement is Book One in The McIntire County Series. It is a romantic suspense novel full of action, mystery, intrigue, danger, and drama. The story centers around the character of Nicolette Rivers who is a deputy in a small town called Eider, Iowa. Nicolette, or Nic as she is called, is a former marine sniper who suffers from severe PTSD. Nic is estranged from her family and has a complex relationship with her father. She feels strongly that he never loved her, and she blames him for the death of her former lover. Due to the trauma of war and the estrangement from her family, Nic finds it hard to trust anyone, so she shuts everyone out and moves to a small town where nobody knows her.
When a series of apparent suicides begin to take place in her sleepy little town Nic sets out to solve them. The string starts with a man talking about atonement and repenting for his sins while holding his wife and kids’ hostage. When he cannot be talked down Nic is forced to shoot him. This causes flashbacks of her past and her PTSD rears its ugly head. After this incident, Nic is paired with Con, a police detective. Con has been interested in Nic for a while but because of her trust issues she pushes him away. Con, however, refuses to give up on Nic and is determined to break down the walls she has placed around herself. When other suicide cases pop up where the word atonement is mentioned Nic and Dusty begin to feel the cases are linked together. Were the victims somehow connected through a Priest that one of the victims mentioned prior to his death?
This book was brilliantly written and had me hooked from the first pages. The author did an amazing job of creating a riveting storyline with complex characters that you feel an instant connection to. She handled the complex subject of PTSD, and the effects it has on those suffering from it as well as how it affects the relationships they have with others. Nic was a smart, strong, kick-arse woman who was determined to fight her demons and come out stronger for having done so. Con was sweet, kind, and stubborn as he refused to give up on Nic. This book had heartache, heartbreak, loss, trauma, dark secrets, mystery, danger, intrigue, complex family dynamics, death, war, and a crazed serial killer. I highly recommend this book!
