Vampires of Atlantis by Courtney Davis – Review by Deb Robinson

Vampires of AtlantisVampires of Atlantis by Courtney Davis
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I really enjoyed this story. The story has so many creatures to keep my imagination overflowing.

Katherine is a human who works at a museum cataloging artifacts. When a monster escapes from Altantis to the human world, she is attacked and she has no idea why. She wakes to Ian the (King) of Altantis who has healed her as much as he could.

He finds himself extremely drawn to her and is irrationally feeling he can never let her go. The feeling to protect and possess her is very strong. Katerine is a strong stubborn woman and won’t put up with being told what to do. Ian will learn this lesson the hard way as they both try to figure out what is so special about an artifact the beast from Atlantis is trying to find.

The story will keep you glued to the pages to find out how the twists and turns are all resolved.

Granting Katelyn

By: S.E. Reichart

This is the second book in the Sweet Valley Series. It reads as a standalone, however, the first book Raising Elle, is by far and away one of the best books I’ve read this year and therefore I would definitely recommend reading that one first. It gives you a feel for the characters that are in this book as they are introduced in the first one. This book is Grant’s turn to explore his past and open himself to others. Katelyn is new to the area and comes to help treat Grant’s horse. I loved Grant in the first story and I was so glad I got to know him better in this one. Katelyn was a great addition to Sweet Valley. I definitely enjoyed this story and Katelyn and Grant getting to know each other. I definitely recommend this story and this series and I cannot wait to see what will happen next in the series!

This is a very good new Romantic Suspense by Jessica Mehring. This is the first book I have read of hers and it will not be my last. Veronica and Angus were written very well and their banter while being put in suspenseful situations was entertaining. I loved the twists and turns that this book kept delivering because it definitely kept me turning the pages. I did not want to put this one down until it was over. I also really enjoyed the chemistry between the two main characters. I definitely recommend this one as it is very very well written and will keep you on your toes!

This is the sweetest story I have read in a while. Blaine is a sweet protagonist. I love how involved and invested she was in the store. She definitely wants to keep her mother alive. Eric was an interesting character to me. He came in the way I fully expected him to, ready to take over the store for his own interests. However, their bet was so fun and cute. I loved their banter and how they slowly started to gain more of an interest for each other. This plot was legitimately super sweet and really this was the perfect book to read after I had just finished reading several suspense stories. I loved the way that the story made me feel and I was literally just happy as I was reading this. I definitely recommend reading this story, if for no other reason than to see who will win their bet.

Reticent Hawke
By: Gwyn McNamee

This is not my first book in the Hawke family series, nor will it be my last. I absolutely love her stories. Each book in this series definitely functions as a standalone. However, I definitely recommend reading each and every book. Each of the stories are interconnected in small ways and the ways the family interact carry through from story to story. Also, the family is the thread that connects the stories.
Jude and Angelina were wonderfully written characters and I loved the amount of thought that it was clear that Gwyn McNamee put into each of them. Each of them was flawed, with many problems / difficulties. Also, there is the normal emotional story line that is expected from a Hawke family story. I definitely recommend picking up this book and the rest of the books in the Hawke family series. I have never been disappointed by one of Gwyn McNamee’s books! This will definitely deliver you a great read.

The Reluctant Suitor (The Studs of Clear Creek County) by Stacy-Deanne – Review by Jennifer Gordon

The Reluctant Suitor: BWWM Historical Western (The Studs of Clear Creek County)The Reluctant Suitor: BWWM Historical Western by Stacy-Deanne
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

An enjoyable and engaging contemporary western style romance which kept me happily turning the pages. The storyline features an interracial relationship between college educated Billie Jean Wills and the wealthy Fisher Hines. When Billie Jean finds out that the blacks at the Locke Farm are working under horrible conditions she decides to fight for their rights, along with her cousin Greta Fay. However, to force any real change in their small town they have to take on one of the most powerful families, the Lockes. Billie Jean did not expect to feel an instant connection with the supervisor of Locke Farm, and therefore the enemy, Fisher Hines. Fisher is proud to be the supervisor and has finally gained the admiration of his high society parents, but he can’t deny the feelings he has for Billie Jean. Fisher wants a future and a chance at true love with Billie Jean, but by her going up against the Lockes it threatens everything that not only him but his family has worked for. The small town setting was really brought to life through the descriptive narrative as were the characters. The chemistry between Billie Jean and Fisher sizzled off the page, and I liked how their relationship developed despite several barriers, including race, an age gap and forbidden love. The author is not afraid to tackle some major issues and does so sensitively. An entertaining read, and one which I recommend.

Regaining Integrity (Code of Honor Book 4) by Brooke May – Review by Emily H

Regaining IntegrityRegaining Integrity by Brooke May
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

In high school Angelica Reece was a nerd that nobody noticed unless it was to get study help or bully. Chase Thorne was one of those and a trick that was played on her had Angelica entering college and realizing she was a strong and beautiful woman. Years later she is a teacher and happy with her life until Chase comes storming back into her life. He does not remember her at all and is trying to win her over with his flirtatious ways, but Angelica is no longer the high school girl with a crush and wont easily fall to his charms. Will Chase realize who Angie is or is she just another notch on his belt?

This was good, I think it pulled a little bit at heart strings for the way that Angie was treated. It also showed sides of how some of these people grew up which I think is the way some people are today. I liked the chemistry and the fat that Chase gets knocked down a peg or two when it comes to his ego. Another great read from this author.

Savage Start (Hidden Valley Elite Prequel) by Isla Vaughn – Review by Colleen Noyes

Savage Start (Hidden Valley Elite #0.5)Savage Start by Isla Vaughn
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Savage Start by Isla Vaughn is a prequel to a new series. This was hands-down, one of the best short prequels. I have read to a new series in a long time. First, let’s just start off with the fact that the cover is absolutely gorgeous so I was immediately intrigued to grab the book. The main characters of Riley and Cole pull you right in from the start. I enjoyed the fact that from the beginning it kind of shows you that while there have always been cliques in high school and they always feel that they are so much different than the other that no matter what everybody has problems. Riley is a scrapper that comes from a dysfunctional mother at the very least, and you are welcomed into her life of mess. Just when she starts to think that maybe she can stay in one place and settle down, as predicted her life seems crazy at the hands of her mother. She doesn’t come from money and has to do whatever it takes to survive and that must bring an immense amount of stress. Cole on the other hand obviously comes from money and you would assume has the perfect little life however, you learn very quickly the old saying that money doesn’t buy happiness. He is forced into an adult role that comes with its own price. There are parts of the story that are dark so be warned but man I cannot wait to see where it goes. This book to me is very reminiscent of the high school dramas from the 90s and early 2000s like “one tree hill “, “90210 “,“gossip girl “. If you were someone who enjoyed those dramas then I think you were very much enjoy this book.

I was so excited to read this newest release by one of my favourite authors ever! I love a good forbidden romance and this one was a brilliant read! There was so much tension, angst and a whole lot of chemistry going on between the characters I couldn’t turn the pages quick enough to find out what was going to happen next. I think I may have found my second favourite book by this author (although I love all of them) this one was just amazing – I’m struggling to even find the words to do this book justice – the last time I was lost for words was when I read Savage Collision!!
This really is a FANTASTIC read and I cannot recommend it enough – its excellently written with amazing characters!

Ruthless Hawke (The Hawke Family Second Generation #1)Ruthless Hawke by Gwyn McNamee
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Will this author ever write a book that I don’t love straight away – ever since the first one I read by her I’ve been the biggest fan. She writes the most amazing books with some of the best characters ever – I love that we are now seeing the families expanding and starting to read about the next generation of the Hawke family!

I loved the prequel to this book and it got me excited to read more about the characters and as I expected it did not disappoint at all. Jack and Isaac were wonderful characters to read about. You can definitely see the family traits with Isaac!! I really liked that the relationship built between the two characters – it definitely made the anticipation of things between them more intense!

There was a lot more emotion in the story than I expected – the author definitely knows how to get the tears flowing that’s for sure!

I am looking forward for more to come from this series!

This is an author that I never hesitate to pick up and she never lets me down in the romance department. This is one of my favorites by her for sure. I enjoyed reading this romance story about how far are you willing to go to fight for what is right along with the willingness to fight for happiness. Billie Jean and Fischer are great characters that are strong, supportive and connectable. They pull you into their world with ease and keep you there until the end. They have great growth throughout. Their chemistry and attraction made me want to know more about them and what fate has in store for them. I found their story to be fast paced and hard to put down. A story you don’t want to miss. I really enjoyed reading this book and I highly recommend it.

This is part of the Studs of Clear Creek County series where each book can be read as a standalone. This historical romance book follows Billie and Fisher and the ‘journey’ to each other’s arms.

I have enjoyed this series; the books are short but not lacking in content. There are tough issues included in the book which are important to note even now, and I like the fact that author includes this in their books.

I enjoy the authors writing style and the way the characters are portrayed and actions described. It adds to my enjoyment of the book as it adds personality to each of the characters.

I look forward to what the author brings out next!

This was a wonderful read and I thoroughly enjoyed it. I’ve read a few books by this author now and she’s got such a great writing style – her stories really engage me the whole way through.

This is a young adult romance story and it definitely transported me back to that time in my life – I think I’m certain I wouldn’t like to go through it again. I found the characters really engaging and a lot of young readers would definitely be able to relate to some of the things the main character, Pyper, is going through. There were some great secondary characters in the story too.

This is definitely a great YA romance read and I would recommend it to readers of all ages.

Regaining IntegrityRegaining Integrity by Brooke May
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I loved this story so much – it was an absolute pleasure to read. The characters were just amazing and everything I’ve come to expect from this author – she is a very versatile and talented author.

Angelica was a really sweet character and I really did feel for her and what she went through in High School – some people really can be mean! If I was her I wouldn’t want anything to do with Chase ever again either.

Chase is your typical ‘I’m good looking and I know it’ type of character but also he was one of those immature types that definitely didn’t think about the consequences of his actions when he was younger.

I loved when they met again – Angelica has blossomed into this strong, independent woman and I just thought that she was amazing! Chase had definitely grown in my opinion and I could see he did regret his actions when he was younger.

This was a lovely second chance romance read and I loved every second of it. Although it is part of a series it can be read as a standalone.

Saved by the Everyday Hero (Limited Edition Romance Collections) by Naomi Valkyrie & Various Authors – Review by Carrie Reed

Saved by the Everyday HeroSaved by the Everyday Hero by Amelia Hayden
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Excellent Anthology! One of the cool things about this book is, each set of stories is under a different “heat level” so level 1 would be more mild romance and level 4 is more spicy. There is something for everyone here, and each story is short but packed full of detail. The stories that really stood out for me were:

Unexpected Heroes by Naomi Valkyrie
I loved this story so much! Elijah is such a great man and, great dad. He was dealt a crappy life thus far and everything seems to be looking up, especially meeting Jude. Watching Jude overcome his fear moving on and losing someone else he loves, and getting the courage to stop drinking was so beautiful, as well as watching him open his heart again to Elijah and Griffin. The added drama of how Jude learns of Elijah’s past and that past catching up to them made the story all that much more interesting.

Broken Pieces by Amelia Hayden
Derrick and Caleb are just perfect together. So much about this story was just perfect. Caleb’s dad and older brother are the absolute worst while it seems like his mom and other brother love Caleb and want the best for him. I love that this story touches on issues with veterans once they leave the service and the lack of care they receive. I’m so happy that Derrick and Caleb could reconnect after being away from each other for awhile.

Into The Flames by Dawn Luedecke
I especially liked this story because of the animals. Sadie is very brave for wanting to save animals in the midst of fires endangering her own life. But, I understand why Dalton gets angry with her, she is not only putting her own life in danger, but her teams lives. I enjoyed watching Dalton and Sadie come together and pick up where they left off a year prior, and watching Sadie figure out what to do with her life and this new animal refuge she is working on with Mrs. Millner.

I absolutely loved reading this romance compilation; it was filled with happily-ever-after stories that enchanted me with every story. I loved getting to read so many different authors in one place. I have found some new authors that I will be seeking other works of because they were so amazing at their skill in bringing the characters to life. There was at least one story that had someone you could relate to, I found there were so many that I could relate to in my life. Reading stories that make you feel warm and fuzzy was wonderful. If you love a good short romance story with a complete plot, and all the character development then this is the book for you! I hope to be able to find more books like this in the future, where amazing authors come together to compile their work into one place for us romantics.

The Reluctant Suitor is the fifth book in The Studs of Clear Creek County Series by Stacy-Deanne. This is a BWWM (interracial)- historical- small town- western romance with forbidden lovers, age gap, blackmail, a tormented hero a bit of an enemies to lovers aspect, chemistry, challenges, drama, emotion, choices, fighting for what’s right, staying true to yourself, following your heart, racial challenges, inequality, and finding love unexpectedly.
This is a novella length story, which made for a very quick and easy read. And as I say with most of her shorter stories, I really would have liked to have read a longer version of this, with more detail, depth, and development- which would have allowed me to really immerse myself into the story and connect with the characters and their story much more- I’m greedy like that.
This story sees Billie Jean take on one of the largest and most powerful landholder families about the working/living conditions of their workers. As she gears up for a fight in order to ensure her message is heard and acceptable changes are made, the last thing she expects, or needs right then, is to start to fall for the enemy- in the form of the wealthy property supervisor Fisher Hines. That will definitely cause problems, for both of them. Will love win out in the end? Or will the flames of love be doused by the challenges they face?
The Studs of Clear Creek County Series contains:
-The White Knight Cowboy (Book #1)
-The Forlorn Cowboy (Book #2)
-The Lavish Cowboy (Book #3)
-The Lovelorn Cowboy (Book #4)
-The Reluctant Suitor (Book #5)
Happy reading!

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

The Reluctant Suitor is a BWWM contemporary western romance in The Studs of Clear Creek County series. This historical romance sheds light on a time when Caucasians and African American relationships were frowned upon. Stacy-Deanne does not shy away from the tough topics when it comes to interracial matters.
This African American tale is a quick and easy engaging read and is a forbidden lover’s romance story. There is an age gap but when it comes to love it doesn’t matter.
Set in a small-town, Billie Jean fights for those who can’t or won’t. If she sees something she doesn’t like.
He is proud of his achievements, but unexpected love will make him do crazy things, or does it? Grab your copy to find out.
There is lots of angst, anger, frustration, challenges, sex appeal and chemistry between our characters. The characters are well-written, and they did make for a interesting story.
I am looking forward to seeing what Stacy-Deanne brings next.

Vampires of Atlantis (Atlantis Book #1) by Courtney Davis – Review by Angela Hayes

Vampires in Atlantis (Atlantis #1)Vampires in Atlantis by Courtney Davis
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

“Ian hated leaving the water, his home and purpose in life, or death, depending on how you wanted to look at it. He was a vampire of Atlantis, a city sunken to contain monsters that had once threatened the lives of all on land. The horrible beasts that preyed on humans without thought or mercy. Vampires may have sipped from the humans, but it wasn’t thoughtless, and it wasn’t violent. The vampires were royalty, they were the chosen ones, they were the protectors, the warriors… and in return, they were given blood offerings. It was a small price for the humans to pay for their safety. The city was sunk into what was now called The Bermuda Triangle and for 12,000 years the vampires had done their job perfectly despite being betrayed and forgotten by the humans, and for the last five hundred years, Ian had been in charge. Nothing had gone wrong. Until now.”

Vampires of Atlantis is the first captivating story in the new Atlantis series by the ever-talented Courtney Davis. It is an incredible fantasy/paranormal romance with vampires, monsters, good vs evil, agendas, danger, drama, secrets, emotion, chemistry, originality, fantastic world-building, chemistry, supernatural elements, high stakes, action, adventure, tension, intrigue, suspense, interesting/quirky characters, and so much more.
What happens when a monster escapes the watery depths of Atlantis into the mortal world? Ian, Vampire Prince of Atlantis, is hot on the trail and is determined to recapture it before things get out of hand. But things take an intriguing turn when Ian is drawn to Katherine almost as soon as he sets foot on land. What happens you might ask? Well, you really should read all the addictive details for yourself as I don’t want to spoil a single moment for you. Dive in, I’m sure you won’t be disappointed.
I am excited to see what awaits us in Book #2! Bring it on!

Saved By the Everyday Hero is a superb collection of short stories from thirteen talented authors. The stories are all unique to the individual author, but all revolve around the same theme- ‘Everyday Heroes’ who swoop in and save the day. From police officers, to firemen, security personnel, the hunky next-door-neighbor, or a member of the armed forces- there are plenty of wonderful characters who turn out to be heroes of their stories. They were all quite diverse and wonderfully developed individuals who you will find so easy to connect with and can easily invest in each of their stories. The stories are categorized into ‘heat levels’- from sweet to spicy hot- there’s something here to suit every taste.
So, get comfortable and settle in for some wonderful reading set to captivate you through every page. I really enjoyed the few hours exploring this wonderful anthology, and I am sure that you will love this collection just as much as I have!

The Collection Contains:

Unexpected Heroes By: Naomi Valkyrie
This is one of my favourites of the collection. A wonderful MM romance woven around two damaged souls who are drawn together by fate. Elijah (a single dad new to town) and Jude (a security operative with a broken heart) both stole my heart, right along with baby Griffin. This was such a sweet story but packed with emotion, danger, and intrigue. The slightly paranormal twist elevated this story to a whole other level for me, and was quite cleverly done. Ms. Valkyrie imbued her story with so much emotion, it may only be a short story, but packs the punch of a much longer novel. She made me cry, more than once- the story really touched me- I was so invested in the outcome, on the edge of my seat in parts as I followed along to ensure everything worked out in end.

Quin to the Rescue By: L.A. Remenicky
This is a sweet story. Mirra and Quinton (a local police officer) are neighbours with furry companions that keep them on their toes. Add in a few secrets, a past connection, a senior prom ‘incident’, a meth lab, investigation, danger, and an unforgettable kiss- and this story really takes off.

Just Another Hallmark Fool By: Eliza Matthews
A cute read. What happens when your hunky one-night-stand who you thought you’d never see again turns out to be your aunt’s next-door neighbour? Well, things get interesting- that’s for sure. Let the fun ensue.

Saved By the Guard By: Mandy Melanson
This is a great second chances romance with secrets, chemistry, high school sweethearts, love, loss, heartache, drama, angst, and more. Liam runs into Kelsy at a wedding after many years apart- but there is a rather large secret she has been holding. What happens when all is revealed? Will they get a second chance at love? Well worth the read to find out.

Crossing the Lines By: Anne M. Scott
What happens when you throw a security expert together with a FBI agent and mix in the Russian Mob, danger, chemistry, intrigue, a little mystery, and action? We get a very engrossing read. I would love to read a longer version of this story, as it was a great short story, but would make a superb ‘full-length’ romantic suspense.

Heroes & Hurricanes By: T.K. Eldridge
I was hooked by this story right from beginning. It had all the ingredients to keep me glued to the pages the whole way through. An editor who owns a book publishing company is targeted by a dangerous stalker. When strange and scary things start to happen the local police officer becomes involved. A romantic suspense story full of danger, investigation, dramatic developments, intensity, and is also a story about finding love unexpectedly. What happens made for a gripping, tension-filled read. Another favourite of the collection.

Into the Flames By: Dawn Leudecke
“I didn’t know you were the photojournalist working with us this year. I knew we were getting one on the crew this week, but I didn’t even know you’d come back this summer.” “Oh, I’m here for more than the summer. My boss transferred me to Cold Springs.” She snorted. “You guys seem to have more forest fires than anywhere else in the state.”
Sadie is a photojournalist who has returned to town after being placed on assignment with the local fire crew. Dalton is a local firefighter, her next-door neighbour, and her one-night-stand from her visit to town the previous year. Their chemistry still simmers even after a year, but thrown in a little drama and tension and things are about to get interesting. This second chances romance was such a great read- plenty of chemistry, banter, fun, emotion, and more.

Broken Pieces By: Amelia Hayden
This is a wonderful MM romance. Caleb is a wounded warrior, injured in an explosion, who now suffers from PTSD and amnesia. He spent a long time in hospital recovering- then sent home. He is plagued by terrifying dreams that wear on his mind. When a tall, dark stranger turns up on his doorstep his world is turned upside down. The man claims to know him, but why can’t Caleb remember him. Will spending time together bring Caleb’s memories back? What happens when secrets are revealed? Throw in meddling family, racism, drama, and emotion and this makes for a great read. A story about the healing power of love.

The Fire In His Heart By: W.A. Marlow
Nate is a firefighter who is forced to take a week off work due to stress. He meets Sarah at a bar and have a one-night-stand that he can’t forget. If only he could find Sarah again. When they finally do reconnect there are a few unexpected developments that come into play. When Sarah has an accident, Nate is soon on hand to rescue her, and fate takes over.
I enjoyed this story but felt that it really needed more ‘time/space’ to fully develop properly. All the ingredients are there, but it seemed quite rushed which made the flow feel choppy. The transitions and dialogue also felt quite abrupt, as I think the author was trying to condense a ‘bigger’ story into a smaller space.

Power Trip By: April Lynn Baker
“I was cheated on by my high school girlfriend and since then I haven’t trusted any woman, especially with my heart,” I say, as she stands up from the couch, striding towards me. “I haven’t had a real relationship because guys don’t want to tango with my father. I’m scared of my feelings for you,” she says. I grab her hand in mine.
Will a police officer and the daughter of the local mob boss ever have the chance of finding happiness together, or will outside forces tear them apart before they get the chance to find out? With tension, drama, danger, violence, abduction, and time running out- things take a tense turn. The story felt quite rushed at times and ends on a major cliffhanger, with the story set to continue in the next instalment due to release in 2024. Comes with trigger warnings.

Unbreak My Heart By: Jade Marshall
“I know, right? I’m not supposed to be nice to you. I mean with Sasha being my sister and all. But you didn’t do anything wrong, even if she wants everyone to think that. And I’ve known you for years.” I’m rambling again. Why won’t the earth just crack open and swallow me, for crying out loud? He tilts his head to the side, studying me…. “Thanks for that, Echo. It’s good to know not everyone thinks I’m the bad guy.”
Colton is back in town after 5 years away. He’s the new fire chief. Echo is a talented baker who has just opened a new flourishing bakery- she also happens to be Colton’s ex-wife’s sister….. awkward. The sparks fly, in more than one way. And when the bakery is set alight, it’s Colton who rushes in and saves Echo from the burning building. What happens next makes for an engrossing romantic suspense. With chemistry, sizzle, insta-love, jealousy, drama, angst, and some tension- made this story quite memorable.

Eve’s Christmas Kiss By: Sharon Wray
He didn’t care about the snowstorm. He didn’t care that he’d have to sleep in a separate bedroom in her parents’ house on Christmas Eve. He didn’t care if she was uncomfortable with his questions. His time away from Kingsmill had taught him three things. First, he was an ass. Second, he’d totally mishandled the situation two years ago… Third, he was even more in love with his wife than he’d been on the day he married her. The other thing he knew for certain was if he couldn’t convince his wife that she loved him back—within the next twenty-four hours—there was a strong possibility he could lose her forever.
A sweet and spicy second chances romance with the magic of Christmas ensuring these two characters get their HEA Christmas miracle. But not if the ‘bad guy’ gets his way. What happens when Eve and Kane are stuck in a remote cabin in the middle of a snowstorm, with thugs on their trail? You really should read all the intriguing details for yourself. It’s definitely one of my favourites of the collection.

Fallen Honor By: Pandora Snow
Dagger’s my type: protective, courageous, and military. I can’t even look our new employee in the eye…

“Let go, baby. Fall into me and trust I’ll catch you.”

Dagger might be the ‘new hire’ but he’s already falling for the boss’s daughter. Cassidy helps run her father’s construction company and has an instant connection with the big, hunky, ex-marine. When her father has a medical emergency, Dagger is there to save the day. He steps up and helps her run her father’s company while her father is recovering from heart surgery. But there are some financial discrepancies with the company that leads Dagger and Cassidy on an investigation to try and uncover the possible ‘thief’. Add in a possessive ex, drama, corruption, secrets, lies, betrayal, danger, angst and more- and we get quite an engrossing read. I would definitely love to read a longer, more ‘fleshed-out’ version of this story, as I wanted to know so much more- because it had me hooked.

As you can see, there is quite a lot here to keep you entertained for hours- with intriguing storylines, interesting characters, very suspenseful moment, surprising developments; some funny light-hearted and touching moments; as well as some hot, steamy, and spicy times. So grab yourself a copy and dive in asap, you’ll be glad you did.
Happy Reading…

Granting Katelyn (Sweet Valley Series) by S.E. Reichert – Review by Daryian Lucas

Granting KatelynGranting Katelyn by S.E. Reichert
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

4.5/5 stars
I knew after reading the first paragraph that this book would be good. I was so right. It’s very well written and entertaining. I didn’t care for the strong language or spice which is the only reason I didn’t give 5 stars.

Moonlit Mirage (A Cook Islands Romance) by Amy McKinley – Review by Colleen Noyes

Moonlit Mirage (Moonlit Destination Series)Moonlit Mirage by Amy McKinley
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This was my first book by this author and I really enjoyed it! I love a book that has romance, mystery, and action, especially if the main catalyst isn’t sex. I thought the author did a great job of introducing us to these characters and gave us just enough to be intrigued to hope to see them in more books. I feel like we got to see just the tip of the iceberg with them as I would expect in a short read. I can tell that this author has a way with words, and can weave a story. I can’t wait to read some of her full novels to really get a sense of her writing and the characters she creates. She left me wanting more. If you like a very quick read that is romantic suspense then you will enjoy this one very much.

Liz’s Road Trip by Bernadette Marie – Review by Jennifer Crain

Liz's Road TripLiz’s Road Trip by Bernadette Marie
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

LIz’s Road Trip was a fun, unpredictable, and thought-provoking read. Having just lost my grandparents in the past two years, it was a refreshing and cathartic read for me. I connected with the main character, LIz, and laughed along with her along the way, because even when life gets you down, laughter can be the best medicine.

I really appreciated the depthness of the characters and the characters aren’t static but grow from the beginning to end. The story between Mark and Liz grows and unfolds slowly, but liked the format of the book (made it more mysterious) and Liz tries to discover another side of her grandma she never knew.

Vampires of Atlantis by Courtney Davis – Review by Mandy Ott

Vampires of AtlantisVampires of Atlantis by Courtney Davis
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Vampires of Atlantis is a fun, interesting, paranormal read. Courtney Davis combines folklore and myths surrounding Atlantis with vampires, monsters, werewolves, humans, and other paranormal beings in this original story. While the idea of the story is very intriguing and the book itself is easy to read, I felt like some pieces were missing. The characters were one-of-a-kind, but it seemed like they didn’t have much of a backstory and seemed rather shallow. I did enjoy Courtney Davis’s world building and felt myself transported to the underwater world of Atlantis or the steamy streets of Miami. The end of the book did feel a bit rushed and it almost felt as if things were left up in the air. Overall, a good, quick read with lots of drama and suspense.
