Someone to Watch Over Me (Wounded Hearts Series Book 3) by Debbie Cromack – Review by Jennifer Gordon

Someone to Watch Over Me (Wounded Hearts, #3)Someone to Watch Over Me by Debbie Cromack
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

An enjoyable and engaging contemporary romance which kept me happily turning the pages. This heartwarming, slow burn romance definitely took me on an emotional rollercoaster whilst reading it. Luciana has been in love with her best friend, Angelo Mancini her whole life, but she’s never told him, what she did do, is ask him to take her virginity one drunken night whilst they were in college. He refused and it left Lucia feeling embarrassed and rejected. Years later and with her life falling apart, she turns to the one person she trusts, but is unsure of Angelo’s reaction to her being pregnant by the guy he warned her to stay away from!
However, Angelo invites her to stay with him and the more time they spend together she wonders if he sees her as more than just his best friend, especially when he’s up on stage playing his guitar and singing a song he wrote for her. Lucia is very aware that she’s carrying another man’s baby, and although she hopes there could be something more between her and Angelo she doesn’t want either of them to end up with broken hearts, or ruin their friendship. I felt fully immersed in the storyline, as the descriptive narrative brought both the setting and the characters to life. I loved the relationship between Lucia and Angelo, and seeing how it changed and developed throughout the story. Their chemistry really came across and led to some rather steamy scenes. I’m keen to read the first two books in this series now.

Acting Counsel (Kings of Screen Book #3) by Morgana Bevan – Review by Angela Hayes

Acting Counsel (Kings of Screen, #3)Acting Counsel by Morgana Bevan
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

4 Stars

Acting Counsel is the third book in the Kings of Screen series by Morgana Bevan. This is a fun contemporary romance with plenty of chemistry, steam, push-pull, angst, banter, humour, drama, forbidden romance, high stakes, and more.
Catrina is a level-headed attorney who has to try and keep things professional when she discovers her celebrity fling is her new client. The no sleeping with clients rule is going to be tested to the max- especially when he doesn’t seem to have gotten the same memo. What happens makes for a very entertaining read.
I’m really enjoying this series and can’t wait for the next instalment to land- Fashionably Fake (Book #4).
Happy Reading…

Thank you, Morgana Bevan!

I didn’t want to put this book down!

This was a fast-paced read that focuses on Catrina and Nathan. Catrina is a lawyer that prides herself on being a rule follower. However, when she finds out that a man she slept with is actually a client of hers (she didn’t know so at the time)….the lines become blurred. She wants to do the right thing by following the one rule her firm has about not sleeping with clients, and get the promotion she has worked so hard for…but Nathan makes that hard to do.

Nathan is used to women throwing themselves at him…so it is against the norm to have someone who seems to be doing her best to fight the chemistry that he shares with Cat. But, he is not going to let that to stop him. When everything is on the line (both his career and hers), is love worth risking everything for?

These characters pulled me in from the beginning. They have amazing chemistry and I enjoyed their push and pull attraction. I also enjoyed seeing the characters from the previous books in the story make an appearance. Morgana Bevan has a way of bringing readers right into the world of the characters and it is quite the ride! I have enjoyed all the books in the series and Morgana Bevan has become an author that I always want to read whatever they put out next!

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This book was an absolute addiction from the start. I fell in love with Hank and Ellie Mae so quick and so easily! It was so hard to put the book down! I don’t read a lot of honky-tonk romances, so this was a great change of pace for me. And that plot twist at the end had me absolutely floored! Y’all, to all my country lovin, sweet talkin’ adoring readers, this is a book you have GOT to read. I cannot recommend this enough! Go check it out!!

The story and Hank and Ella Mae definitely had me going through the emotions! I would be super happy, then angry and then next thing I know I’m ugly crying. Hank is a small-town boy in Nashville working on his family’s farm and in a small country band. But unfortunately, his band breaks up and he’s not sure what to do, go after his dreams or commit to working on the family farm for the rest of his life? In walks Ella Mae offering the chance of a lifetime to join her and her brother on tour after meeting at her brother’s concert. He learns what it’s like to be a famous country singer and falls in love with Ella Mae much to her brother’s dismay. This was a beautifully written book and it felt like I was right there and could hear the country music playing along in my head! I can’t wait to go back and read the other books in this series to read about other characters!

Slow burns make me so anxious but I love it at the same time lol. This was such a beautiful read! I LOVE ANGELO SO MUCH! Best friend to lovers trope is easily becoming one of my favorites so I knew I was going to fall in love with this story! Characters are phenomenal and I loved every page. The tension and the angst is so worth it in the end and I highly recommend this standalone! I became so emotionally invested, I never wanted the book to stop! Simply loved it.

Acting Counsel (Kings of Screen Book 3) by Morgana Bevan – Review by Beverly Finnie

Acting Counsel (Kings of Screen, #3)Acting Counsel by Morgana Bevan
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I love this author! I haven’t read a book that I didn’t like. Acting Counsel is no different. I’m in the middle of multiple series by this author which should tell you something. She writes wonderful romances that have just enough drama to keep you on the edge of your seat. Or in this case turning the page.
Acting Counsel is part of the Kings of Screen Series. I’ve actually read all 3 of those books, and I think this one is my favorite. Catrina and Nathan have an amazing dynamic. And the way the author portrays Nathan’s character development is beautiful. Of course the growth isn’t truly spotted till the dramatic event takes place, but it’s a wonderful stepping stone.
I look forward to reading Jackson’s story. He’s stood out now as a supporting character in multiple books now. I feel like the author is saving the best for last.
In saying all that. This book may be part of a series but it reads just as easily as a standalone novel. If you are unfamiliar with this author and enjoy this genre, you won’t be disappointed. If you are familiar with her other series but haven’t read any of this one, my only question is: What are you waiting for? If you are like me and have at least been on top of this series, guess what? Book 3 is here! Enjoy it!

This was a great 5 star read. I was pulled in right from the beginning. I really enjoyed the characters and their bantering. Nathan and Catrina were great characters. Catrina as a rule can’t date her clients, but Nathan has other plans. The more they work together the harder it gets for her to resist him. I enjoyed watching things grow between them. Will she give into Nathan? What will happen with her job? Overall I really enjoyed this read. I really liked seeing some of the other characters from previous books. Like a reunion of sorts. The author does a great job with her writing, you feel like you’re right there with the characters. I can’t wait to read more from this series. 1-click and get started today.

I was very impressed with this book. I was actually very intrigued with the whole thing. It was so well written that reading about the circus and the training you really feel like you’re sitting there watching it unfold before your eyes. It was so detailed that I almost forgot I was reading it. the love and chemistry that happens between the two main characters Cassandra and chandler made me feel like I was involved in something that I wasn’t supposed to know about. It kept me wanting to read more, I really couldn’t put it down. I felt like I couldn’t read it fast enough to find out what was going to happen next. I usually don’t grab romance reads but this book had me on an emotional journey, it was a little slow but the action, love scenes were well worth it.

This is the third book in the Kings of Screens series. Such a good book. Catrina is a lawyer who tries her best to follow the rules. When she sleeps with a man only to find out later he is her new client, it becomes harder to follow the rules. Nathan is one of the kings of screen and he wants her. The chemistry between these two is electric. I loved the way the characters from the previous books made their appearance but Nathan and Cat are more than enough to make this book a keeper.

Acting Counsel (Kings of Screen, #3)Acting Counsel by Morgana Bevan
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This book was an amazing read. Morgana did an excellent job of developing the characters and the story.

This book follows Cat and Nathan. Cat is a determined associate attorney looking to make a step up in her career at her current job. Nathan is a famous actor working on a new business venture.

Cat gets the opportunity of her career and the chance for the promotion that she has been working so hard to get. What happens when that opportunity brings her face-to-face with one of the most charismatic men she has ever met? Nathan is used to women throwing themselves at his feet and trying to stroke his ego. Cat is used to not letting men into her world at all.

What happens with a rule follower meets a ruler breaker? Can you trust the word of someone you hardly know? What happens when you tell a man who is used to getting what he wants no? Can two really keep a secret?

Read this book to find out what happens with the lawyer and the actor. Will they fall in love or will they watch their worlds burn? This book has some heat so keep to water nearby.

Acting Counsel
By: Morgana Bevan

This book is the third book in the kings of screen series. However, it most definitely can be read as a standalone.
This is not the first book I have read by Morgana Bevan. I have come to expect a few things from a Morgana Bevan book. The first is well written characters who are well developed and have fantastic (read: sizzling) chemistry. I know the plot will be super fast paced. And I know that I will not be willing to put the book down until it is finished. This one is absolutely no exception.
Catrina and Nathan are well developed characters and they have such fantastic banter. The type of banter that exists between two people who have such fantastic chemistry. This is a dual POV storyline that is done very well. I am a big fan of a dual POV as it lets you experience situations from both of the main peoples perspectives. I loved that we got to experience the story from both Catrina and Nathan rather than just one of them. Their chemistry and attraction just leapt off the page. I definitely recommend this story!

This is the 3rd book in what has become one of my favourite fun easy-read series. Each book can be read as a standalone, but I recommend reading them all, especially as past characters make an appearance.

I enjoy the author’s writing style, it’s easy to follow and draws you into the world of Hollywood through the scenery depicted and characters created. The characters are developed and show growth as the book progresses.

This was a fun read which follows Nathan and Catrina as the work closely together after their ‘history’. I was rooting for them, as with every couple in the series so far, from the beginning.

I can’t wait to get hold of the next in the series!

I love this series! I fell in love with the first in the series and so had to read the second. It’s just as good if not better!

I don’t usually watch reality TV; I find it too cringey, but this wasn’t an issue reading this book. There’s a solid foundation to the plot (which is what is lacking for me in over the top reality TV) and the characters are well developed with their back stories and personal growth in the story. It was a fun read as was the first, and I’m sure the author is quickly becoming a favourite of mine.

I enjoyed Abi and Finn as a couple and I’m sad that their story has ended, but I look forward to the next book and next couple!

Acting Counsel is the 3rd book in the King of Screens series but can be read as a standalone. This book tells the story of Nathan, hot shot actor and known flirt and Catrina, a strong career driven attorney about to make a name for herself and become partner of her firm. That is, until she gets her next client and finds that its Nathan…. her unforgettable one night stand from 2 nights ago. This story is full of forbidden romance, secret flirting, stolen looks, touches, and kisses. Catrina an Nathan have a chemistry that is undeniable from the start that is written all over the pages. Mixed with some drama and ending with a HEA makes for a quick enjoyable read!

Acting Counsel (Kings of Screen, #3)Acting Counsel by Morgana Bevan

Catrina Sinclair is a no nonsense lawyer and her firm has one major rule: not to sleep with your clients.

Easy enough. Until her one night fling walks into her office Monday morning. Now he’s her client and she’s got to keep her hands to herself. If only he’d do the same.

Nathan Logan has everything: power, success and fame. But he’s lacking someone in his life he can share it with who won’t turn around and sell him out.

When he meets Catrina all bets are off for the night, then she’s gone and he’s left wanting more, so when he walks into the meeting with his new lawyer and it’s her? He’s determined not to let her go even if it means losing everything he’s worked so hard to get.

I enjoyed this book in the King of Screens series almost as much as I enjoyed Married Blind (which I devoured in a day)! It’s got a ton of bantering and a whole lot of what ifs involved.

Enjoyable and definitely a hilarious read, I’m excited to read the rest of the Kings of Screens titles and sink my hands into more by this author.

If you’re a fan of one night turning into so much more, or forbidden attraction, or sexy men, then you’ll likely love this book too. These men are all tall, handsome, and YUM!

Acting Counsel is another fun story and the third book in the Kings of Screen series by Morgana Bevan. It is a close proximity romance tale in the heart of all the glitz and glamour of Hollywood. It can be read as a standalone but as I always say start at the beginning you never know what you may be missing. This light-hearted contemporary romance is a quick read.
I enjoyed the banter and the push of the relationship between Catrina and Nathan. I love that the story is told in dual POV. It shows you who the characters truly are. It exposes them warts and all.
She’s not putting her heart on the line for a client and not one that has a reputation.
He wants something real and is willing to let it all go.
If you want to know what happens then make sure you read it yourself.
With friendships and sassiness, chemistry and steam, angst and drama it makes for a nice escape for a few hours.
I look forward to reading more in the series.

I have read other books by this author so I figured it would be a good book and it exceeded all my expectations. This book can be read as a standalone but I suggest reading all the books in this series because they are great reads. I loved following the story of Hank and Ella Mae, there was so much emotion in this story. I found myself invested in these two characters’ lives and the outcome of the story. I was pulled into this story and couldn’t put it down until I found out what was going to happen between them and what was going to happen with Hank and Ella Mae’s careers. You don’t want to miss out on this wonderful story, I’m not going to give anything away so it’s my recommendation that you read it. I will be reading more books by this author.

Walk Off
By: Bree Kraemer

This is the first book in the Ground Rule Series and I absolutely loved it. This is a second chance romance that is well written with great characters. Celia and Kyle share a past together. This past is filled with lies, passion, half truths and hurt. When Celia broke up with Kyle 8 years ago she broke his heart, but truthfully she also broke her own. They both moved on but yet they still found they had a special place in their hearts for each other. They run into each other at a mutual friends wedding and they begin to rekindle their feelings for one another. Kyle is a forgiving man. But 8 years ago Celia chose his future for him.
I truly loved reading this story that was filled with characters with so much baggage and pain. I definitely found myself rooting for them. I didn’t want to put this book down and found myself staying up really late to finish it. I love that it is a series because I know that there is more fantastic characters and great writing in my future. Definitely pick this one up for a fun read.

I am so thankful this is the first book in a series because whoa… I love how Cassandra and Chandler’s chemistry simmers as the story unfolds. The setting is unique as they are circus performers, and it made their characters compelling and endearing, and I love them together. This story twists and turns like a good mystery should and kept me in suspense and at the edge of my seat the entire time! It was hard to put this book down and not read it in one, long sitting. It’s steamy romance, vibrant storytelling, and characters I couldn’t get enough of. I tend to shy away from a lot of steamy romances, but this one has my full recommendation. I can’t wait to get my hands on book two!
