Walk Off is the first book in the Ground Rule Series by Bree Kraemer. Gah!! I love Bree Kraemer’s stories so much!! She always manages to pack so much heart, soul, and emotion into her book-s and her characters are just sublime.
This second chance contemporary romance pulled me in right from the beginning and had me completely invested in the characters and their story. I couldn’t put it down and devoured it all in one sitting.
A wedding is the last place Kyle expected to see Celia. Even after eight years, everything comes rushing back. What happens when secrets are revealed?
With plenty of sizzle, secrets, lies, heartache, pain, unresolved emotions, drama, angst, chemistry, forgiveness, and hope- Kyle and Celia’s story had me burning the midnight oil so I wouldn’t go to sleep without knowing how things played out in the end.
Can’t wait to continue this fantastic new series!
Happy reading.

Someone to Watch Over Me (Wounded Hearts Series Book #3) by Debbie Cromack – Review by Angela Hayes

Someone to Watch Over Me (Wounded Hearts, #3)Someone to Watch Over Me by Debbie Cromack
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

4.5 Stars

Someone to Watch Over Me is the third book in the Wounded Hearts series by Debbie Cromack. I have to be honest here, this book was a bit of a bitter-sweet read for me knowing that this was the last book in the series, but also needing more of Ms. Cromack’s slow-burn, angsty, and emotional deliciousness that I have become addicted to.
Before diving into this story, I highly suggest reading the previous two books before starting on this one, as not only are they fantastic books in their own right, but I discovered that there is a lovely connection between the first two books and this third instalment.
As expected, this is such a wonderfully angsty and emotional read that tugged on my heartstrings in a major way. Ms. Cromack simmers her plot so beautifully, cooking up a slow burning, but sexy read. She doesn’t shy away from some tougher topics, which adds to the emotional punch of her story.
Angelo and Lucia have been the best of friends since childhood so there is already love and connection between them, but they’d never crossed the ‘friendship’ line. But fate might just have a different plan in mind- throwing these two out of their comfort zone. What happens made for an entirely memorable read. Finding out that Angelo is Nicco and Destiny’s son (from Someone Exactly Like Me- Book #1) and Lucia is Candi and Enzo’s daughter (from Kiss Away Your Pain Book #2) was like getting extra icing on the cake for me.
I was so excited to see that Ms. Cromack has a new series in the works- and I am itching to get my hands on her Broken Billionaire series! Bring on Book One- I can’t wait!!!
Happy Reading!

Thank you, Debbie Cromack!

Twisted Bond by Danielle Jacks – Review by Beverly Finnie

Twisted BondTwisted Bond by Danielle Jacks
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Twisted Bond was alright. I would give it a 3.5 out of 5. I really liked the concept that brought the story to life. I felt there could’ve been more substance to the story though. Time jumped quite a bit. Not like drastic time jumps, but ones where there could’ve been substance that would’ve added to the story itself.
Bond by fate, enemies by greed. The greed being of power vs money. Prince Titan and Rose are worlds apart yet together as one. His kingdom thrives off the drained power of her people. Which should make her hate him. But she doesn’t. She’s pulled to the prince in ways she can’t explain.
Will it get in the way of her completing her task?
Will she find the moonstone and free her people?
All the answers are within the pages. Be patient with the author though. Where I saw things as frustrating while reading you may enjoy. The story concept is definitely good, I personally just wanted more out of it.

Obedience (Ties That Bind Book 1) by Liza Snow – Review by Robin Rankin

Obedience: A Dark Student Teacher Romantic Suspense (Ties That Bind Book 1)

Chandler and Cassandra have a very interesting and complicated relationship. They are teacher/student and both aerialists. But there is intense attraction and a little bit of self loathing and a lot of hot and cold feelings from Chandler. That frustrated me some especially since neither one of them is a young adult in their late teens or early twenties.

I found myself getting very caught up in the second shibari scene and also never thought about how erotic aerial artistry could be until now.

Cassandra has an amazing friend in Alex, everyone needs an Alex in their life. She also finds Henry and Dana along the way.

Chandler is a mess, he has too many demons he is dealing with and gets stuck in his head way too often, though I understand how easy that can be at times.

As frustrated as I would get at times I did enjoy the book and definitely found myself getting lost in the pages. The description of the ropes work was enthralling and I definitely want more.

Looking forward to reading the next book by Ms. Snow and hopefully get a happy ending.

This was a great 5 star read. I really like this genre and wasn’t disappointed. I enjoyed these characters and their story. Travis wants to be famous for his music, while at a concert he meets a woman (Ella) who will change his life. Ella’s brother is a famous musician and writes her own music as well. When Travis is invited to tour with Ella and her brother things change for Travis. I was pulled right in from the author’s writing. My emotions were all over the place. You get so much in this story, I was done before I knew it. I do suggest reading from book 1, but you can read as a stand alone. I look forward to reading more from this series and author. 1-click and get started today.

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Someone to Watch Over Me is the third book and another fantastic read in this wonderful Wounded Hearts series. Make sure to read the books in order. I mean you don’t have to, but I recommend it. This beautiful best friends to lovers contemporary romance tale will have you believing in the song of true love. I have loved all the books, but this is my favourite so far.
Debbie’s beautiful characters are realistic with flaws, are emotionally raw and so easy to fall in love with and to become invested in their story.
This angsty emotional slow burn story has heartache and heartbreak. You may want to have the tissues nearby because you may become teary eyed. BUT don’t worry because there is also humour.
She is trying to move on from a bad decision and needs the one person she didn’t listen to.
I look forward to more of this compelling series.

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This is the second book in the series which I didn’t initially realise as it can be read as a standalone. I’ve read some other books by the author, so I was really looking forward to reading this one. It did not disappoint.

As usual I enjoyed the writing style used, it added to my enjoyment in reading. The story had me hooked, now I’m not usually one to go for love triangles as I feel they’re a bit over-done, but it was done well and, in the plot, it worked.

There’s darkness, suspense and mystery which I thrive on when reading so this was a great book for me. I’ll be going back to read the first in the series and impatiently wait for another!

Stalked by the Devil (To Kiss a Stalker Series) by Stacy-Deanne – Review by Tara Johnson Barnes

Stalked by the DevilStalked by the Devil by Stacy-Deanne
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Stalked by the Devil is part of the To Kiss a Stalker Series. It is a fast-paced romantic suspense that centers around the story of Melody, her sister Sahara, and Sahara’s billionaire boyfriend Keith. Melody is unemployed and living with her successful, supermodel sister Sahara. Sahara is dating billionaire Keith and is hopelessly in love with him, but Melody hates him and is convinced there is something sinister lurking under Keith’s charming exterior. Melody is determined to find out the truth behind Keith’s charming façade and prove that he is not a good person and is not the man her sister thinks that he is. Danger lurks in the shadows as Melody tries to prove who Keith really is and neither of the sisters may be safe when Sahara gets a stalker.

This was a fast-paced, intense, and captivating storyline with characters that are instantly relatable and engaging. Melody has the best interests of her sister at heart even though it is hard for Sahara to see. There is a history between them that involves meddling in past relationships, so this plays a factor in how Sahara treats Melody when Melody tells her that she does not like or trust Keith. Keith is someone that you instantly dislike because he comes across as slimy, manipulative, condescending, and arrogant. The author did a great job of building the suspense and mystery in this book as we learn who we can or cannot trust. The twists and turns that will grab your attention and keep you reading to find out what happens next. This book had romance, action, danger, mystery, stalking, and obsession.

Cecily in the City (The Cecily Taylor Series Book 3) by Krysten Lindsay Hager – Review by Moriah Venable

Cecily in the CityCecily in the City by Krysten Lindsay Hager
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Cecily is starting her senior year of high school. With a pop star boyfriend, she has an opportunity to fly to New York to meet with a fashion designer. She started off wanting to be an actor but her career seems to be going in the direction of modeling.

I really enjoyed reading this. I haven’t read the other novels in the series but I wasn’t confused at all. I actually felt more invested because I knew Cecily had come a long way.

Cecily even wonders if Andrew’s world is something she can handle. She is excited to finally be in the same city as him as well as move her career along with the right connections, but she is aware how easy it is to be swept up in the Big City.

In a lot of novels the main characters keep secrets from each other but I like how Cecily and Andrew for the most part did communicate and eventually was able to repair damage that was done. The media and fans can start rumors and it illustrates how her relationship with Andrew suffered because of it. To me, I was able to feel her anxiety and uncertainty. Just all her emotions in general. She was a well written character and the plot just pulls you in.

Cecily also states in the beginning how she no longer feels the need to make herself anxious just to support a friend. When she gets invited to go rock climbing with her friends Allie and Lila, she declines a few times despite her friends trying to change her mind.

‘She stuck out her tongue out and said she’d text me if she survived. Normally, I’d go just to support a friend but I was at a place in my life where I realized I didn’t need to make myself anxious about climbing a big wall just to keep someone else happy. I’d spent so much time doing things other people wanted and now I realized I could save myself both anxiety and energy by listening to what felt right for me. I was slowly learning about boundaries’.

That passage really stayed with me. At 30, I am slowly learning about boundaries and not doing things to make other people happy.

The end of the novel kind of had a cliffhanger which makes me excited to see what happens next.

Oh, this was too sweet of a second-chance romance to miss. Angelo and Lucia grew up together and were childhood friends. There has always been a spark there. There have also always been obstacles to overcome for them both. A well-written story that allows us to follow them as this slow-burn romance develops into so much more. The characters are well-developed and so relatable. The story was a beautiful ending to a beautiful series by this author.

I enjoyed reading this romance story. This is still a newer author for me which I enjoy reading. Their writing style is such that it is written with a lot of heart and soul. I found this book to be well written and hard to put down. A story where the characters pull you into the story and have you coming back for more. I enjoyed watching their growth as well as their chemistry throughout the story. A story where it will take you on an emotional roller coaster ride at the same time connecting with them. This is a fast paced romance story that has much going on with this couple but the author did a great job of keeping the plot straight and engaging. I enjoyed what the characters added to the story as it made it entertaining to read. This is a great story that you don’t want to miss. I highly recommend this book

There are quite a bit of sex scenes in the story, just a warning for those people who aren’t into that. I however loved the story and the scenes. To think about a man loving you so much he can’t ever keep his hands off you. Shew. The storyline is a great one too. Did Celia mess up everything by lying?

Ways to Improve BaileyWays to Improve Bailey by Cori Cooper
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Bailey finds herself on a date with Tanner thanks to her brother’s stupid list based on how she can improve herself.

When the date goes well and the two start spending more time together, Bailey wonders if maybe the list has some merit and thinks maybe it is time to start looking at her flaws that she has been avoiding looking too closely at.

The cover and synopsis caught my attention. I didn’t think I would enjoy it as much as I did but it was a very enjoyable and fun read. I should have known how much I would enjoy it from how it started.

“I really need to tell a lie right now. When I made that stupid promise to my stupid brother, Dayton, last week, I didn’t realize how hard it was going to be to tell the truth all the time.”

This alone hooked me. I’m excited to read more by this author.

Someone to Watch Over Me (Wounded Hearts Series Book 3) by Debbie Cromack
Genre – Contemporary Romance
Page Count – 222
Cover Designer – Qamber Designs & Media

He’s not my brother, but he protects me like he is. He’s not my boyfriend, but I’ve always wished he was.

Angelo Mancini is my best friend and I’ve been in love with him my entire life, but I’ll never confess that to him.

One alcohol-filled night back in college, I asked him to take my virginity. He refused and I felt rejected and embarrassed.

Years later, I end up getting pregnant by the one guy he warned me to stay away from.

My world crashing in around me, I run to the one person I trust…and need…Angelo.

He invites me to stay with him while I figure out what to do. The more time we spend alone, the more it feels like he no longer sees me as just his best friend.

When he’s on stage, playing his guitar and singing a song he wrote for me, I can’t help but wonder if there could actually be more between us.

And if there is, does it even matter with me carrying another man’s baby? I’d like to believe that love always wins, but I’m in a no-win situation.

After all these years, we may both end up with broken hearts…and a destroyed friendship.

This is Book 3, and the final book, in the Wounded Hearts Series. While it can be read as a standalone, your experience will be better if you read this books 1 and 2 first.

(This book contains steamy scenes, miscarriage, the passing of a grandparent. and some explicit language. Suitable for 18+ only.)

Hi! I’m Debbie Cromack and I write contemporary novels that are romantic, sexy, and emotional with a lot of heart and worth-the-wait steam. I’ve been called the Master of Slow Burn, a title I happily accept.

I write realistic, flawed characters you’d want to get to know in real life. My heroes are virile and also broken. They have huge hearts, respect their women, and have a hidden romantic side. These men don’t just fall in love, they fall and never look back. My heroines are often awkward, feisty, and embody everything the hero never knew he needed.

After spending 25+ years in corporate America, being the CEO of an event decorating company, and then an online business coach, I tried my hand at writing romance novels, publishing my debut novel at the age of 50, and have been writing ever since.

I live in an old farmhouse where I care for a dwarf bunny named Nutmeg, two Nigerian dwarf goats named Patches and Tiny, and lots of chickens. I like my book boyfriends how I like my cocoa: hot and yummy! With my knack for decorating, I tend to go all-out for each holiday. And I’m a total sucker for the Hallmark Channel…especially at Christmas.

Confronting and raw
This is the first book I have read from this author and it was a pleasant surprise. The author’s writing is engaging and quickly grabs at your emotions. The storyline is not for the faint hearted as it is deals with real issues in a sensitive and realistic way. There were so many times that I felt my emotions peak as the characters faced some pretty confronting issues. With characters leading a double life and choices (and consequences) need to be addressed, this thought provoking story is not for everyone (*trigger warning) but is worthy a read.

I never hesitate to pick up any book from this author ever….and I really liked the suspense of this story and just when I had it all figured out…I did not have every piece. This story is fast paced and really draws you in.

What happens when one sister constantly meddles in her other sisters love life? That is what happens when Melody totally despises her sister, Sahara’s boyfriend Keith. Call it sister intuition of sorts, but Melody will do anything to prove to Sahara that her boyfriend is nothing but trouble. When a stalker comes into play for Sahara’s affections and lies upon lies are spun in many webs….Will Melody and Sahara be safe?

This is a well written romantic suspense that had me guessing. Highly Recommended if you love suspense, danger, lies, twists and turns!

“Fear is the name of his game…”
Stalked By the Devil is the second book in the To Kiss A Stalker series by Stacy Deanne. This is a gripping story with intrigue, drama, mystery, BWWM, angst, obsession, stalking, tension, and danger.
This is the second book in the series, but it can be read as a standalone, but having said that, I am interested to see what might have happened in the first book, so. I will be going back to explore it and find out what it was all about.
The story was quite gripping and a little dark and intense at times, with a bit of a ‘mystery’ to unravel. I enjoyed to dramatic developments- and the tension that Stacy-Deanne injected into her story.
Looking forward to exploring more of Stacy Deanne’s books…

Thank you, Stacy-Deanne!

Cecily in the City
By: Krysten Lindsey Hager

Cecily is a high schooler who is looking to get her big break. She just got a taste of what it will be like after she acts in a music video. With her favorite artist who just happens to become her boyfriend. She is pushing super hard to move to the city and continue her modeling / acting career. Plus she will be in the same city as her boyfriend. And get out of her small town. She isn’t all that sure she wants all that fame comes with. But she also knows she doesn’t want the opportunities to pass her by.
This book was so good. It perfectly encapsulated the insecurity and the friendship issues that occur in high school. I also really enjoyed Cecily’s family and how they seemed very realistic about their daughter becoming an actress.
This was such an emotional book. I definitely felt all of Cecily’s emotions throughout the book. I also really enjoyed in the beginning where she starts being confused about if she wants the negative parts of having a big break, such as the social media comments. I definitely think this is such a good summer read.

I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book. The book was full of everything I love in a book…plenty of heart, feelings and second chance. Jasmine is an adorable smart little girl who loves her mom and never knew her dad. Celia is a beautiful girl who broke Kyle’s heart about 8 years ago when she broke up with him and told him she didn’t love him. Not only was Kyle heartbroken but so was she. Kyle was able to move on and have other relationships but he always thought back to Celia and never stopped loving her. Imagine their surprise when they run into eachother at a friends wedding. Both characters have had heartbreak growing up from family members and still carry that baggage. What will happen when Celia finally tells Kyle the truth….why she broke up with him and didn’t give him the chance to choose what he wanted for his future. Will he be able to forgive Celia for what she did / didn’t do all those years ago? This book was definitely a 5 star read. I loved all the characters and cannot wait to read the next book and see what the author has in store for Zara. Grab your copy of this book and you won’t be able to
Put it down.

Given the chance to work with an idol I think we would all jump to do that. Cassandra has dreamed of working with Chandler since the day before her 13th birthday. A few months shy of turning 26 she is at Dreamers and doing just that. But will her ideas of him change when she learns all the sides of him?

Cassandra is a aerial silk student and her dream is to perform. Chandler is not only the best but he is also a professor at the school and her mentor. But he has another side of him, another side of performing one that is more intimate than the silks. Chandler is trying his hardest to keep so much of his life secret. Cassandra is a breathe of fresh air and making him cross all sorts of lines and boundaries.

Cassandra is running from her own secrets while Chandler is hiding his own. Both fighting demons but also fighting the feelings they have for one another. There is no denying the chemistry is there for both of them, despite the student/teacher and age difference. This is just book 1 and I absolutely can’t wait to get my hands on book 2.
