Underboss’s Retaliation (Sicilian Gods Book 2) by Via Mari – Review by Angela Shirley

Underboss's Retaliation (Sicilian Gods Book 2)Underboss’s Retaliation by Via Mari
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Dominic is on high alert from the attack at the casino and when Salvatore issues the order to go and seek revenge he is more than happy to attack De Rosa’s house and grab the only thing that is dear to De Rosa’s heart his daughter as a bargaining chip, but all hell breaks loose and he has his hands full.

Emelia has been taught well for this day, as a mafia princess she knows that she is always on alert and can easily be taken to use against the family, so when she was hiding in the tunnels trying to not to be found but when the dark eyes meet hers, she is in trouble.

Dominic has Emelia as a pawn in this game of power but she is not easy, a hellcat who is trying to escape at every turn but something shifts and Dom starts being drawn to Emelia knowing that the relationship is forbidden and could get them both killed. Can they keep what they have hidden long enough so Dom and Emelia explain.

I loved the first book in this series and this book does not disappoint, the story picks up just after the first book ends and the families are at war with each other. I love the character of Emelia as she is cast at first as the helpless Mafia Princess but as the story goes on you get to see the sheer determination of her character and the strong female role model you want in a book like this. She is equal to Dom and he treats her with the respect as an equal also which is wonderful to read.

The story is full of revelations of both families and how the next generation of the Larussio’s are planning to lead the family. The chemistry between the two jumps off the page and is a great dynamic to read through the adventures of both, with a twist at the end I could not stop reading this book and read it in one sitting.

I can’t wait for Lorenzo’s story as he is a quiet character in the other books, I have a feeling he is deadly under the covers.

Quick read. Not my favorite story this year but it is a quick read and it will keep you entertained for a couple hours. Business partners in a party planning company, Cadence and Jasmine have been friends since college, but will that all change now.
Jasmine is the sensible one in the party planning business while Cadence is the spoiled brat partner that gets her way all the time. However what happens in this story happens when Jasmine is trying to plan the wedding of James and Cadence. Interesting and irritating to say the least.

Jasmine has had a rough past. The death of her parents and the way the other people treated her after has left her quite alone in her world. However, she busies herself with keeping he company, Divine Events, running alongside her friend Cadence. However, a kiss with a hot stranger sets her life on a path she couldn’t have seen coming.

James has had a rocky path when it comes to business…but his new venture is going to be different. However, he needs the financial backing, and he knows just the person. It will be a mutual benefit for them…he will get the funding and she will get the perks that come with having his last name. But he didn’t intend to fall for the quick tempered Jasmine. How can he make it work with her while keeping his venture with Cadence afloat?

This was a good book that kept me entertained from beginning to end. I felt for Jasmine and it was sad to see how the people in her life were using her…and she was too nice to do anything about it. When she told the story of her past, my heart just broke for her. However, with James’ help (whether she will admit that or not), Jasmine was able to stand up for herself and put her wants and needs above everyone else’s! Quite an enjoyable read!

This book was nothing short of amazing. I absolutely LOVED IT. It’s very entertaining and well written. From the beginning of the book, Rhia’s personality is on full display. Her boldness and bluntness is so evident from the first chapter. I spent the entire book rooting for her and the prince. I 100% am adding this author to my top 5 author list.

Rhia is about to marry the Prince of Wales. Sounds romantic if you like that sort of thing and Rhia does not. This is an arranged marriage by her father with hopes to negotiate a tax debt.
So, while Rhia is expected to save the town by convincing her new husband to erase the tax debt.
Unfortunately for Rhia and the town, the prince has been tasked with paying the tax debt.
How will Rhia and the prince navigate this new marriage, their fathers, the debt and an old enemy threat to their village?

This was so sweet and fun! An easy read!
Rhia is so strong and independent, and I really enjoyed the relationship between her and the prince.
The characters were so likable. The dynamics between Rhia and her brother were so heart felt and funny. Another fun relationship was between Rhia and the Princes personal staff – it had me laughing out loud!
Would recommend if you are looking for a sweet romance with charm and lots of mud and snails!

I had no idea what this book was about when I opened it. I just really loved the cover art. That being said, I have mixed feelings about My Pearl Heart. The first half of the book I was really annoyed at what was happening and feeling like I was missing information. The whole relationship between Jasmine and James really didn’t sit right with me. They were expressing interest right under the nose of Candice. However, as the book goes on and we are given more details, things start to fall into place. Once all was revealed, my feelings switched to justifiable karma and I ended up liking the ending. I thought the author did a great job bringing everything together and wrapping up the story nicely. I would read more by this author, and recommend the book. But, give it a shot. I wasn’t feeling it in the beginning, but I liked it at the end.

Underboss’s Retaliation: Dark Mafia Romance (Sicilian Gods Book 2)

I am completely obsessed with the Larussio family. This is a long time obsession and it isn’t getting any better.

Dominic Larussio is dangerous in so many different ways and we see how dangerous he can be to his enemies and to his loved ones.

Emelia is exactly what Dominic needed without either of them realizing it. She is a spitfire and doesn’t go down without a fight.

I am a longtime fan of this author and with each book she gets better and better. I can’t wait to see who falls next and what kind of trouble finds them.

Sharing His Nanny (Forever Our Girl Book 2) by Tori Chase – Review by Mandy Ott

Sharing His Nanny (Forever Our Girl, #2)Sharing His Nanny by Tori Chase
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Sharing His Nanny was not quite what I was expecting. Based on the title and synopsis, I was expecting a bunch of steamy, over-the-top sexual scenes and not much for a story line. I’m glad to say I was wrong in this regard. Tori Chase brought some pretty unique and realistic individuals to life in Stella, Charles, Jordan, and Alex. There was a lot of character building and background information presented at the beginning of the book, which I liked. However, with all of the information at the beginning, I felt like the ending of the book was a bit rushed. The ending was so sweet, with a few surprises, but I felt like it could have been a little longer and more detailed. Overall, Sharing His Nanny has wonderful characters, a great story, and exciting spicy scenes.

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I knew going in based off the title it would be a strangers get married trope but I so enjoyed this!
The author showed who each character was but still kept some details to find throughout the story.
Finn and Abi were great to read about as both are vulnerable in their own ways but still looking for love, whether one of them thinks it or not.
I was hooked from page 1 and I loved how this story unfolded and the emotions this elicited from me for both of them.
I can’t wait for more!

This book was a fantastic read. This book is really well written and has character development.

This book follows the story of Kasper and Krysta. Kasper is an ex-cop who is now working at a company with his closest friends. He grew up spending most of his time with his friends and they are now his family. Among those friends is Krysta, his best friend’s little sister. Krysta is a woman who speaks her mind and isn’t afraid to be unapologetically her.

Years before coming back into each other’s lives they had a secret relationship. What happens when new factors make it hard to keep the secret? WIll this cause a friendship to be ruined? Can you forgive someone who left you all alone in your greatest time of need?

Read this book to see how a great group of friends can be more of a family than blood relatives. Also, find out if Kasper and Krysta can keep their past in the past or if it comes to haunt them. One of the best, brother’s best friends books.

I was drawn to My Pearl Heart because I loved the cover art. Once I read the first page, I knew I made the right choice. I have mentioned in reviews before that I tend to load my Kindle with books and read them “blind” not remembering or rereading the synopsis… this was one of those books. My Pearl Heart has great characters, ones you love and ones you love to hate (looking at you, Cadence). While I liked that this was a short book, there were times I wish it were longer. I wouldn’t say the storyline was rushed, I just would have loved more time with James and Jasmine. Especially James! Overall, great story from an author I look forward to reading more from.

5 Stars!! 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

Totally surprised by this book and I loved it. Normally, I am not a big historic reader, this book is a
YA Historical story that had knights, peasants, romance and a little bit of banter and humor and I totally enjoyed the story of Rhia and Emerys.

Rhia is just sixteen years old who lives in a small village and she finds that her father is to have her married to the Prince of Wales, Emerys. Rhia is hard as nails and has no doubt given Emerys a hard time about being married, but what the true intent on this marriage brings. Rhia’s village owes a big debt to the king and Emery just wants his father’s approval to retrieve that debt. Will Rhia and Emerys overcome their banter and differences to save Rhia’s village especially since there are “Wildmen” also to deal with as well that are not kind to Rhia and her families home?

This is a great read, I highly highly recommend this debut story! The banter between the characters had me laughing and I love the overall story.

I was on the edge of my seat waiting for the next reveal because I could not guess the next turn of events for the majority of the book (which I love!). I feel that this is a mafia version of Romeo and Juliet; two lovers from enemy families who shouldn’t be infatuated with each other, but are. The title gives the premise away, and the underboss’s pawn in the grand scheme ends up being exactly what he’s always wanted. Emelia isn’t to be shoveled under a rug though, she’s ferocious and can certainly hold her own in a world ran by overbearing men. I love the Larussio family and will continue to be a reader of this series!

Fear Inc: Volume 3 is a fantastic book by Melinda Valentine. This second chance /brother best friend romance follows Kasper and Krysta as the try to work out their feelings towards each other after a disastrous break up years previously while also trying to stay safe from external threats that are out to interfere. I found this to be a very enjoyable read, it had a likable group of characters, some very steamy moments and some suspense and excitement. My only complaint is I finished it too quickly! This is the first book of this series I have read however I will be going back to read the first 2 volumes in the series.

Sharing His Nanny (Forever Our Girl, #2)Sharing His Nanny by Tori Chase
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Wow! Just Wow! Sharing his Nanny was so much better than I thought it would be going in. I was intrigued which is why I chose to read it, but what the author wrote was amazing. I read it without putting it down. Spicy, sexy, hot, ect! Who knew a polyamorous MMMF story could be so hot and intriguing. Plus the forbidden fruit step-sibling aspect. Though it’s a mental thing, they are blood relations nor did they grow up together. Just a formality.
Stella, Charles, Alex, and Jordan definitely never expected to end up where they are.
Charles had a baby dropped on his doorstep right before him and his bestfriends headed to his Malibu home for a July full of sex and debauchery. Which completely threw a wrench in their year tradition. Charles thought that he, Alex and Jordan could manage, 3 men and a baby style.
Stella is not your average woman. She’s plus sized and has the ambition of creating a fashion line for women of plus-size stature to be proud of. Unfortunately the investor had other plans, that Stella wasn’t on board with. At a loss she called her step-mother, which is how she landed right in the middle of the guys’ July in Malibu with a baby in tow.
You want fun, you want conflicting feelings, you want sexual adventure with some romance thrown in the book is for you. It has it all! Again the author took an intriguing idea and made it a masterpiece.

Holy Cow!! I wasn’t sure about this one but I took a chance and wasn’t disappointed. If you are unsure after the first chapter, keep reading. The first little bit really sets up the nonstop action and intrigue for the rest of the book. One might need a character list to keep track of all the people and nicknames but even if you lose track of who some of the peripheral characters are, focus on the main characters!! The ride is phenomenal. If deceit, love, hate, revenge, sexual tension, unrequited love, action, biological warfare, steam, money, honor, and family don’t do it for you, then don’t worry. We will just keep this secret all to ourselves. When you get to the point where you are saying, “How much more can one person take,” just know there is more. Take a chance. Jump right in!!

This book was very well written, with a Hunky male warrior and a strong female lead! The dialogue Jackson uses really helps the story come to life, I could almost hear what Rowan would sound like. The inclusion of Celtic mythology is the icing on the cake and makes Talisman a really interesting and fun read! I cannot wait to get my hands on Warrior, book 2 in this bold and sexy series! I highly recommend this book to anyone in need of a date night with a book!

Underboss’s Retaliation was even better than Boss’s Vendetta. Dominic Larussio finds himself in close quarters with Emelia. The De Rosa’s mafia princess. She is 100% a “wildcat” and entirely badass. Their banter was incredibly entertaining and Emelia’s way she never stops fighting or getting under Dominic’s skin is brilliant. While this is book 2 in The Sicilian Gods series, it can be read as a standalone.

Jasmine and her “friend” Cadence own an event planning business… more so Jasmine does all the work we come to realize very quickly! Cadence betrays Jasmine in so many ways.

Jasmine is able to find her prince charming and it all started with an unforgettable kiss! He may not have been available at first but things change when the truth comes out!

This book gives off mean girl vibes and you can’t blame Jasmine for finally throwing in the towel with everything at the end. She reveals the truth about everything and finds her true happiness!

This is the 2nd book in the Sicilian Gods series, another spin off series including the Larussio family. I have loved every single thing that this author has written until now and this was no different. I devoured this book and loved every second of it. Each book can technically be read as a standalone but I think you’d get more enjoyment if you read the first book before this one. As both are such brilliant books, it will be no hard ship to read both.
In this book we get the story of Dominic Larussio, underboss to Salvatore from the first book. In retaliation for an incident in book 1, Dominic kidnaps Emelia De Rosa, daughter of their enemy. But what happens when sparks fly between the 2 and the chemistry is off the charts?
I absolutely adored Dominic and Emelia’s story. I was totally gripped from the very beginning and this book just didn’t let me go until the very end. In fact, I’m not sure it has let me go yet. The drama, danger and intrigue really make for an extremely entertaining read.
I would 100% recommend this book and any of this author’s books.

I wish I had read the previous books !!! Not because I felt lost but because it was so darn good and I fell in I’ve with each and every character !!!!

So this in the 3rd instalment and Krysta is trying to live life after their traumatic family experience , she had to take a life to save the lives of those she loved and yes it had to be done but I feel and respect her agony 🤗

Kasper has always had it bad for Krysta but he made a mess when they were younger but he’s wiser now and man he is a sight for sore eyes and at a stage I was ready to beg him to call me “Kitten” 🔥😂

All my boxes were ticked , there was tension , steam , suspense and a whole lot of tenderness and “ humanness “

I must admit I’m greedy I want more of them all but Sophia and Benji have piqued my interest

P.S. Jusg did the record , Bentley you suck ! Krysta was never meant to be put in a box and the day she said goodbye to you , was the best decision she’s ever made , well that and loving Kasper 😍

Who doesn’t love a hunky Dr Romance I know I sure do. Hunter is head Chief Medical Officer for Chase Care and recently lost his partner and is teamed up with Dr.Selma Bryant who is a blast from the past and secretly has loved Hunter for years. When a virus claiming live in the refugee camp surfaces will Hunter and his crew save them and Dr. Bryant in time? Can these two get their HEA? I highly recommend reading this book to find out what happens next. I can’t wait to read more from this Author.
