This novel gives the reader a whirlwind of emotions, tension, drama, and redemption. The text is full of poetic prose that fully engages the reader page after page. I love being pulled into 19th century Portugal scenery with the passion between Anne and Pedro! I have a soft spot for the tortured hero in a story and the tension between the two kept me on the edge of my seat!

James Conner is a bad boy and Jasmine kicked him out of his own parents’ anniversary party. James is incredibly attractive though and keeps coming on to Jasmine. However, he’s engaged to be married to another woman. It’s a crazy business deal, this pending marriage. He’s engaged to Cadence and Jasmine is responsible for planning the wedding. How is Jasmine ever going to plan this wedding with James coming on to her so much?
This novella was enjoyable. There is a lot of back and forth drama involved in the relationships that form/are forming and it times it seemed a little overdone. But overall, an enjoyable read.

I’m giving this book 3.5 stars. I really did enjoy this book, but the characters and toxic relationships have me rating it lower. The “best friend” was one of the worst friendships I’ve ever read. I was wanting to throttle both her and the main character Jasmine the whole time I was reading this book. And the “boyfriend”? He was just as bad as the best friend. The only relationship that wasn’t toxic was the one between Jasmine and her assistant, Carmen. Other than the very blatant toxicity that had me raging at the characters, I did enjoy this book and it was entertaining for what it was.

Let me start out by saying that I did not love the first little bit of the book. But, I do not DNF books and therefore persisted. And let me tell you how glad I did. I am giving it 5 stars despite the rough start for me. That is how good the rest of the book is. I truly loved all the twists and turns in this book and there were some that completely blindsided me. I LOVED all the characters, even the ones that the reader is meant to despise. I thought that they were all well written and made complete sense for the story line to make sense. I do hope that there is going to be more about Jasmine, James and Cadence. This book left on the perfect note for a sequel. I want to see what becomes of these characters, that is how much I enjoyed this story. I definitely recommend it!

Jasmine is a hard working buisness owner who tends to not have time to mess around. That is when she isn’t corralling her crazy BFF. Married Blind: A Marriage of Convenience was a great romance book. Finn is one of the “Kings of Screen”, in Hollywood, with a bad boy reputation. He had a relationship that destroyed his image and continued to make poor decisions. His agent thought it would be best to marry a stranger on the show “Married Blind” to improve his image, but he would not be marrying another celebrity. Abi is a woman living in New York taking care of her sister who is in remission from cancer. They need help paying off their medical bills and this show is willing to pay her to marry a celebrity. Both go into the marriage thinking it is a stunt to improve both of their lives, but when both are highly attracted to each other that task becomes difficult. After their honeymoon, they both decide to give it a real try. However, will Abi’s responsibilities lead her away from love, and/or will Finn’s history get in the way of trusting a relationship can work? I just adored the characters in this book, and they had great banter. The spicy scenes were pretty good too. Finn just screamed Hollywood hotty to me! He was portrayed as a playboy, but someone who didn’t want to be. He was honest, but brutal at times. However, when he let his guard down, you could not help but fall in love with him. He loves hard and honestly, but can’t let his past go. Abi is adorable. From the beginning, she is sassy and strong but also caring. However, like Finn, she also can overthink, which leads to miscommunication. I would say that young people should read more books where miscommunication is the main issue – things can be solved so easily if someone just speaks lol!

Falling Home was the first book I’ve read by Libby Kay. Fortunately for me, it is part of the Buckeye Falls series, I truly look forward to reading more from this author. I loved the story of Max and Ginny and the fact that while the story is centered on whether they’ll find their way back to love, it is also a story about family. Having recently lost my mother, I have a great respect for the father/daughter love portrayed in this book. I found the plot to be cozy and light and truly a nice read. It was a great story to kick off my new year!

This is an enjoyable and engaging stand alone romance, which kept me happily turning the pages. Jasmine Hayes runs her company, ‘Divine Events’ and organises events for the social elite. Meanwhile, James is a drunk who has a string of bad business decisions behind him, however, he also comes from the rich Conners family, who are the closest thing to royalty in New England. Two years ago he was told to sort his life out, and now James is about to marry Cadence, and then will be able to get the money he needs to start a new venture. The only problem is that when James meets Jasmine, his fiancé’s best friend and their wedding planner, he recognises her as the woman who he has not stopped thinking about since meeting her.
Jasmine, can’t believe the man that her best friend is marrying is the one who kissed her silly and swept her off her feet. What Jasmine does not know is that James and Cadence have a secret contract, which states they will have a mutually agreeable and quick divorce. I loved the main characters, as they are all likeable and relatable in their own ways. Their relationships come across as very realistic, and they all brought something different to the story. The chemistry between James and Jasmine really came through in the narrative, but I also loved the dynamics between all three main characters. This was a lighthearted and heartwarming romance which had a HEA.

This was a really enjoyable romance. The author does an amazing job with the characters. The characters are both fun and witty and they have backstories which really make them come alive. This is a story about meeting the one for you but things and circumstances being in the way.
James Conner is know as a drunk. His life has spiralled out of control but now he’s determined to get it back on track and a marriage of convenience seems like a the right idea. Or so he thought. What he didn’t anticipate was meeting the wedding planner and his future brides best friend and sharing a kiss with her that blows his mind.
Jasmine Hayes is a successful business woman. She takes no prisoners and is a straight talker. She runs her business with her best friend so when she gets a call about an emergency she rushes to her aid not realising she would come face to face and lips to lips with the man of her dreams. However there is one problem. He is promised to her best friend and she wants Jasmine to plan the wedding.
So this is where we find our couple. Both feeling the spark between them but unable to do anything about it. Will there ever be a time for them to be together? Will James be able to pull his life back on track and if he can will Jasmine be a part of it? This story is full of laughed and tears which makes it an emotional read that you can’t put down.

I have to say this book isn’t my usual genre to read but I thought I would give it a go as I’m familiar with the author and have enjoyed her previous work and I have to say this is probably one of my favourite stories from her. The connection between the characters was just amazing, so genuine and real. I could honestly feel the characters emotions pouring off the pages. I could feel the genuine angst they were feeling about what was happening and the way they thought about other involved in the situation as well. It was beautifully written and explored and explained a different type of relationship really well. A definite must read!
This was a really great read. I loved the characters and the idea behind the storyline. I think it was a really relatable story and this made me love it even more. I loved the characters especially Abi, she was such a lovely person and with everything she was going through I really felt for her at times. I think I pretty much fell in love with Finn straight away! He was definitely worthy of that book boyfriend title! There was a great amount of chemistry between the two that didn’t feel forced. I loved the humour in the story and this just made it even more entertaining to read. Although this is the second book in the series it can be read as a standalone and I cannot recommend it enough! A great 5 star read!!

I haven’t read the first one in this series, but if it is anything like Married Blind, I am addicted. The characters are real, the banter is funny, and the feels are many. Couldn’t put this one down. It is fabulous!!!!
Abi is up to her eyebrows in debt due to her sister’s medical bills. She is working three jobs to help pay them but she is barely keeping her head above water. Abi’s sister finds an ad for a new reality show and convinces Abi’s best friend to ask Abi to apply. Abi doesn’t think she will make it but she does. She will marry a stranger, stay married for 3 months, and then determine if they will stay together or get divorced. The things we do for family.
Finn got burned bad by the woman he thought he loved. He turned to the Hollywood lifestyle everyone thought he lived anyway. After his latest scandal, his agent thinks Finn’s reputation needs some rehab. The idea is to show a different side of Finn to the world, a dedicated, caring, steady husband side. Finn agrees to do the show but is not happy about it and doesn’t plan to make it easy for the producers.
Once Finn meets Abi and starts to get to know her, he thinks he could be in real trouble with her. Both Finn and Abi’s baggage keep them from revealing their true selves to each other. When Abi makes a choice because she doesn’t feel like she has any other options, Finn reacts badly and thinks Abi is just like all the rest, a user. What will it take to make these two drop their walls and let each other in?
I can’t wait for Book 3 to see how Abi and Finn are doing. This book was fan-dang-tastic.

I loved it! I want it to be a movie! My Pearl Heart was well written and had such a strong female lead. The author wrote her with so much potential, that the growth displayed throughout turned out beautifully. If you enjoy sweet forbidden romance? This book falls right into your wheelhouse. Jasmine owns an event planning business with her best friend. Reality her best friend brings in the clients and she does all the work. Cadence walks all over her and the business, and Jasmine lets her. This book turns into a book of self discovery for Jasmine, as well as to cut the toxic people out of her life. Along the way she meets James, who she wants but can’t have. Why? Because he’s engaged to Cadence. How does one navigate feelings they can’t act on? Reality, by walking on eggshells around one another. However the author broadcast that connection and that concept beautifully throughout the book. Now I’m curious to check out what else this author has written. While I do that, you can read this!!

This was a really good book! This author usually writes paranormal fiction, so this was a surprise getting a contemporary book instead. I really enjoyed having this one set in a non-paramormal type setting! It was a fast paced novel, in a way that not a lot of details were missed out on. This author usually doesn’t disappoint and this book was no exception! I would love to see more books like this on the future!
The Taste of Light (The Winemakers Book 2) by Giovanna Siniscalchi. This can be read as a standalone but I highly recommend reading the first book. This is the story of Pedro and Anne who are in the first book a tiny bit. Pedro has had a hard life, growing up with a very abusive father and that has made him tough. When he meets Anne its not under the best of circumstances and they have to flee together. Anne is the total opposite of Pedro, she is fun and full of life and sees the good in everything and everyone. Will they be able to flee the false accusations against them and will they fall in love in the process. This book is a page turner and will leave you guessing up to the very end. It’s also very haunting. I felt like I was in the wine country of Portugal and the writing was so beautiful it takes to that time and place. If you love historical romances then pick this book up!

This is the second book by Naomi Valkyrie that I have read and once again really enjoyed her writing. It is a short story but doesn’t leave you feeling like you needed more. The characters are so easy to get attached to and it’s so realistic. I love how it’s an uncommonly talked about romance. Definitely a must read.
I loved Abi and Finn’s story! Abi is having to work three jobs to make ends meet and pay the bills. When pushed by her sister and best friend she signs up for Married Blind. Finn needs to revamp his imagine. Therefore, he signs up to get his manager off his case. What will happen in the 3 months these two have to spend married?

Dorian and Augustine meet completely by chance when an assassin mistakenly makes one of them his unintended target. In the aftermath the two men try to work through what happened and unintentionally develop strong feelings for one another. Both Dorian and Augustine are happily married so they deny their attraction and decide they should part ways. Both men feel it is best if they never see each other again or they risk losing their wives and everything they have worked for.
Three years go by and both Dorian and Augustine have moved forward in their lives. Things are going great until both Dorian and Augustine’s wives meet each other by pure chance and become best friends. Their wives are anxious for their husbands to meet one another so that they can spend time together doing activities as a group. When Dorian and Augustine meet up again the attraction is as strong as ever and they must make a difficult decision that could forever alter the course of all of their lives.
I love everything by this author so naturally I picked this book up to read as well. I must say that it is a different genre than the others I have read by her. This was a bit of a romance with a different twist that I have not read about before. I found this book superbly written and could not put it down. The characters were relatable and lovable, and I found myself rooting for everything to work out for Dorian and Augustine. I also wanted their wives to be happy and for everything to work out for them as well. There was some tense moments, laughs, fun, suspense, and tears throughout the book that left me reading to the end and until I learned what became of both couples. Another amazing story by this super talented author!

This was a quick interesting read. Dorian and Augistine found love in the most unexpected way but neither can act as they are married. Little donthey know that fate will bring them back together but Dorian has another secret. Will their friendship and budding romance be able to survive all the obstacles. I really enjoyed this book and all the twists and turns. Endingnwas definitely thought provoking.
This is my second book by this author and it did not disappoint. Small town…check. Second chance love…check. Holidays…check. Ginny goes back home to help her dad after surgery. Jasmine is running her own business but working all the hours to make it successful, but she has one fly in the ointment which her business partner.
One morning turn her world in a turn, a random stranger coming up to her and rocking her world, the only trouble is that the stranger is the man who is marrying her best friend and business partner, Cadence. As Jasmine is planning the wedding she starts to fall harder for James and sees the nasty side to her so called best friend, but when she learns the reason around the wedding things start to change with Jasmine.
This is a lovely easy read story with a feel good feelings with a happy ending for the main characters. I loved the character of Jasmine she is a loving and a brilliant boss but I did feel she let Cadence use her for longer than she should have, as with her feisty nature did not quite sit well with the character.
Although the progression of the character of James was brilliant to read I would have liked to have seen a bit more of his history and the deal with him and his parents. I think the flow of the story was brilliant but it needed to be longer. I loved the chemistry between the two main characters of Jasmine and James and glad they found the way to each other in the end.
I would love to read more from this author in the future.

Contemporary blind date romance A well written great fun read. Abi and Finn are adorable. A relationship formed from convenience it was amazing to watch their connection unfold. But Finn has some issues from his past that he needs to deal with and Abi needs to work out her priorities. Told in dual POV this is Book 2 in the Kings of Screen series and even though each book is written as a stand-alone I love how there are characters that appear across each of the books. I am keen to see how the rest of the series develops.

This first read of 2023 was not disappointing!! Ginny needs to go home to take care of her dad with his upcoming hip replacement surgery. Going back home to Buckeye Falls comes with it challenges though! Max is still there and so are the feelings of love…love for Christmas, his diner, and his ex-wife Ginny. When Ginny finds out that Max is spending time with her dad, more issues come to light. How can Ginny survive this trying time with Max around? It’s also Christmas and the holidays are special in Buckeye Falls.

My Pearl Heart is a really short sweet Holiday romance. JN is an illustrator turned author who is able to easily weave a tale that you won’t forget. The characters are very well written and I fell in love with them. Each with their own backstory to tell that really kept me invested and engaged. There were a few different emotions, highs and lows that moved the story forward. I enjoyed the wit, the banter, the humour as well as the heartache. Jasmine Hayes is a no nonsense brilliant, hot tempered and sassy businesswoman and I liked her straightaway. She has a quirky best friend that is sometimes hard to keep up with. She caters to the social elite and heavens above she found herself in a tangle of tongues (a kiss or two) and swept of her feet. Only those arms weren’t for her. James Conner, once a drunk wallowing in self-pity with no thought of others finds himself with one insane contract and an engagement/marriage of convenience. That was until he met her and that kiss. Now he is determined to get his life in order but will it include her? I can’t wait to see what JN does next.

Complex yet sweet contemporary romance that was totally enjoyable.
Jasmine is co-owner of an event planning company along with her best friend Cadence…..mixing friendship and work is not always so easy. Jasmine is feeling some hot signals when she shared a kiss with the handsome James Conner, but turns around and ends up engaged to Cadence. Jasmine is torn between her clients her her friends upcoming marriage that leads her into a downward spiral of emotions, especially being near James while planning a wedding. When the cards are all out and lies become hard to swallow and emotions run high, what happens to Jasmine and James with their sizzling shared kiss? Will James marry Cadence all for money with dreams of his own?
Definitely read and find out. This book was hard to put down, I just wished Jasmine would see what I was feeling all along with mixing friendship and work and whom is really there for her when she needs it the most. Great read and highly recommended.

This book has so much more to it than infiest expected it would. I started this book expecting a enjoyable second chance romance but found that it was much more emotionally charged than I anticipated. I connected quickly and easily with the characters, becoming invested in their journey. When I read the blurb I expected the story to go a certain way but the author managed to keep it interesting. The characters have a strong chemistry and really draw you in to what is going on. This is a great book and I really enjoyed each and every page.

I couldn’t ask for more in a romance book than including two of my favorite things. This book is set in my most favorite place to go to on holiday and also it’s a romance I really couldn’t ask for anything else. To make it even more it is a historical romance which is one of my top favorite genres. I like how the author is able to bring the back story to add to the present of the characters. I was really drawn into the drama of the book and hooked. I really didn’t want to put it down. The author is able to bring the characters to life and draw the reader into the adventure. I really felt as though I was right there in the midst of the drama and adventure as it unfolds. The author draws out the story and grabs you and I cannot wait to read more from this author.

Jasmine Hayes has been running Divine Events for years, she is proud of the growth of her business but now she is questioning if she can maintain a professional stance. Kissing James Conner is everything she has been looking for but when she finds out the man of her dreams is engaged to her best friend, she vows to stay away. Easier said than done when she is planning their engagement party and wedding. Everything is not as it seems though, and Jasmine needs to decide if she can go along with the wedding which is on the surface only or let go of the man meant for her.
Good story. I liked Jasmine she is trying to wrap her head around the circumstances of James and Cadence wedding. She tries to move on, but James keeps staying close. If you are looking for a fun short story this is one to pick up.
