Whispered Surrender (Sinful Duets Book 1) by Via Mari – Review by Jenni Bishop

Whispered Surrender (Sinful Duets #1)Whispered Surrender by Via Mari
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Whispered Surrender is the first book in the Sinful Duets books by Via Mari is another fantastic read from this talented author. Whispered Surrender is the collection of previous books Wayward and Undercover.

I see Via’s name and jump straight in. I don’t even read the cover because I always know I am in good hands when it comes to her books. It is a great start to another of her fabulous series and has many of my old favourites from her other series. Hot alpha men looking out for their own with the backing of their employers who trust them like family. And the romance is all hot tamale and sizzling to the point of boiling. Via has once again woven her magic and puts you through hoops where the drama and secrets, fear and pain, love and lies is palpable and we travel to exciting place. There is conflict with some of the most powerful and dangerous men in the world including several mafia families.

There are two stories to one book and the first is Jay and Sasha’s story:

Jay met a siren, but she only has eyes for his boss. The beautiful ballerina takes his breath away but how does he get her to see she is made for him and him alone but when a secret is brought to light, he may just have to walk away with his heart in tatters.

The second book is Matt and Marenah’s story:

It is another exciting and titillating story in this series which is a spin off from the original Prestian series and another spin of being the Torzial Affair. Each of these series are fantastic and now we get to see the wonderful alpha hotties who look after and manage the security of the billionaires get their own stories. All the characters intertwine within each of the series so now we are getting to know so much more about them and get reacquainted with them much more intimately. As always Via leads a mighty dance keeping it all together without compromising on the great story. The action and feelings, the secrets and danger, love and drama is described so vividly that it is palpable and draws you in. I always lose out on sleep when reading Via’s stories as I have to know how it will all end, and it is so, so easy to get lost in the journey they travel in.

In this book we get to see where Matt came from and what he has been through. And when a mysterious blond comes into his life, he won’t let her go but when he finds out the truth, he may just have to do that.

I suggest you start at the beginning with the Prestian series and work your way through, because as I said they are all intertwined characters, and you will see where it all starts. You will thank me later.

Make a date and enjoy.

A Christmas Amish Courtship (Amish Courtship Series) by Jennifer Spredemann – Review by Jenni Bishop

A Christmas Amish Courtship: Amish Courtship Series - Book 3A Christmas Amish Courtship: Amish Courtship Series – Book 3 by Jennifer Spredemann
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

3.5 stars

A Christmas Amish Courtship is book 3 in the Amish Courtship Series by Jennifer Spredemann. Jennifer is a new author to me so I thought I would give the story a go. I have not read the first two books in the series but didn’t feel like I was missing anything.

It is a heartfelt clean romance tale full of faith and religion and it is set around Christmas time. A magical time for love.

I have only read a couple of Amish stories and quite enjoyed them. Learning of a different way of life was interesting. It is a second chance romance tale full of love and healing.

I did like the characters and found them interesting, and it was hard not to feel for them.

Annie is afraid to get hurt again after a courtship gone wrong. She wants to have what others have but can she open her heart to possible heartbreak again.

Andy knows he is the one for her he just has to get her to see it.

If you love an Amish clean religious romance tale, I am sure you will enjoy Jennifers work.

I really enjoyed this. Having the 2 sisters stories together and reading from each perspective and how the same story ended for both sides was actually really cool.
I loved the men in these stories. Especially Jay, something about him and his devotion was truly inspiring and I wish all men would take a lesson 🙂
Cannot wait for the second duet series 🙂

Wayward
Romance and suspense and a whole lot of bodyguards. No spoilers here, you need to read it to believe it.
Sasha Koslov is a Ballerina from Russia. She is talented as well as a strong willed woman. When she finds herself in trouble, in comes Jay the head honcho with an elite security team. Not where he was supposed to be, Jay takes the woman and offers her protection. He really has no clue who she is, until trouble comes knocking at his door.
This author has done it again. This story is a quick read. Only because once you start, you can’t put it down. It is full of action as well as a great romance story. I love her characters!! Jay and Sasha are both trying not to fall for the other. This story did not end like I had anticipated, I was wrong every time I thought I knew what would happen, I was wrong. I LOVE this series. Not for those under 18 due to the adult theme.

Undercover
This is a full length novel. You will find , hot and steamy romance and suspense all rolled into one fantastic book. Not for those under 18 due to language and adult situations.
Marenah is the granddaughter of the Russian Mafia Family.. She is being hunted down by many people of the Chicago Mafia as well as the Russian Mafia. When she goes looking for answers about her grandfather. She finds herself captured in a basement with Matt, and the Chicago Mafia has them. They are fortunate to escape, but that does not mean she is free. Now she has two mafia groups after her. She is in the fight of her life. Will she get things taken care of? Will she and Matt find a way to make things right?

Once again this author has done it. This story is filled with feelings. Love, suspense, and one rollercoaster of a ride, on this reading train. Marenah is one of her characters and she is strong as well as smart. Matt is also in the mix and he is very protective of those around him. This story will get you involved on page one and keep you reading until the end. The author will keep you glued in her books. I look forward to the next series and see what she has in store.

Wicked Ends: A Dark College Bully Romance (Hidden Valley Elite Series, Book 8 ) by Isla Vaughn – Review by Helen Dawkins

Wicked Ends (Hidden Valley Elite #8)Wicked Ends by Isla Vaughn
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This is the 8th book, but the 2nd book in Shane’s duet. I have said this before and I will say it again from the roof tops, I ABSOLUTELY LOVE this entire series. I am NOT ready to say goodbye. Every single character in the entire series is super relatable, and even their experiences are as well. You do not need to read the other 6 books, but I highly do recommend that you do as that they are all wonderful in their own unique ways and it also heightens the experience for the rest of the books in the series, including this one. This book definitely is an amazing way to end the duet, and the series as a whole.

Now, on to this book specifically.
I adore Shane, he has always been one of the characters I just CRAVE to know more about. Winter also captured my heart immediately. There is plenty of chemistry, angst, drama GALORE, love as well as hate, revelations, family, and of course just the right amount of some mystery!

This is not a lovey-dovey type of romance it is a bully romance; I repeat A BULLY romance.  Please check the trigger warnings if you have any.

Throughout the book, Winter and Shane seem to be both not necessarily “stuck in the past”, but most definitely dealing with trauma that happened in the past. For Shane, it is his father, who wanted nothing to do with the boys (him and his brother) for years, until recently. But now, it seems the reoccurring theme with his dad is – MONEY. Winter’s sister, Summer, was supposedly drowned by her mother. Winter’s mind has been blocked and she’s begun to wonder if there is more to what really happened. That is until recently she has been remembering more and more about what happened to her.

Winter is almost abducted, and everything just gets M-E-S-S-Y! While Shane is dealing with his greedy Grandfather who wants Shane to pay a steep price for money assistance. Money that his father is asking from him, putting him in a horrible position in order to get the money.

The two finally come together, to help figure out who has targeted her and why?

This book, and the first part of the duet, will have you falling in love with both of their stories. The character development is amazing. The plots themselves are outstanding and not typical. This is a series that I will continue to reread over and over again. The characters will always live rent free in my brain! The book and the series are highly addictive, and you won’t want to wait a minute until you have read it to completion!

Shadowed Agenda: An Enemies to Lovers Action-Packed Romantic Suspense Thriller (Shadow Defense Security Series Book 2)Shadowed Agenda: An Enemies to Lovers Action-Packed Romantic Suspense Thriller by Mavery Ellscott
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I’ve read both the first and now second of the Shadow Defense Security series books, and what I like about the series is that they definitely connect (overlapping characters, to a degree, the Shadow Defense Security Agency, etc.) but you absolutely could read them as stand alone novels as well. If I really had to choose, I enjoyed this book even more than the first; the character development was entertaining and I found myself incredibly invested in the progress of the crimes being committed (and whodunit!)
Definitely recommend!

Whispered Surrender (Sinful Duets #1)Whispered Surrender by Via Mari
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

A dark mafia/bratva romance which had me captivated throughout. I loved the fact that this was two books in one as it meant I could ‘binge read’ them! Book one tells Jay and Sasha’s story, Jay protects people for a living but it’s just a job, until he meets Sasha. When she ends up on the wrong side of the mafia Jay is determined to keep her safe. Then claim her even if it means going up against one of the most notorious crime families. Book two is Sasha’s twin sister Marenah and Matt’s story. Matt comes across Marenah whilst on an undercover assignment, but as the granddaughter of the head of the Russian Bratva she’s not exactly who she appears to be. However, Matt is one of the most feared and ruthless protectors in the business and is determined to claim, her even if she is an off-limits mafia princess. I did fall in love with both Sasha and Marenah, two fearless women and Jay and Matt the men who will do anything to protect them. The storylines and plot in both stories kept me gripped, and the characters and settings were brought vividly to life through the descriptive narrative. The fiery and passionate chemistry between the couples really came across, and I loved how their relationships developed throughout the stories. An enjoyable and engaging read, where each story and couple have a guaranteed HEA!

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Whispered Surrender is a fantastic book containing two amazing stories Wayward and Undercover by the very talented Via Mari.

Wayward

I was hooked from beginning to end with this thrilling and exciting dark mafia read! It had everything I love in a story and more! I was swept along with the characters story and also to all of the places their story took me! The authors writing was beautifully detailed, I could imagine all of the places she was describing. I did feel like I really knew the main characters Jay and Sasha and I was so invested in their story from the past to the present to their future.
I have read quite a few books by this author and she never fails to bring me a story that I love but I can honestly say that this one is absolutely my favourite of hers – it was simply an outstanding read! It has gotten me very excited for what’s to come from the series and I cannot wait!!

Undercover

I absolutely LOVED this story! It is yet again another amazing read by the very talented Via Mari! I was hooked from beginning to end and I could not put it down at all! I loved Marenah and Matt! Their story was definitely full of action and a lot of steamy moments! I love how Ms Mari has intertwined characters from her other two series into this new one – although it is not necessary to have read them this book reads perfectly as a standalone.
I thought Marenah was a fantastic character, so strong, independent and she could definitely hold her own when it came to it! I loved reading about her!
I think I fell in love with Matt pretty much straight away! There was just something about him, so genuine and likeable.
The moment that Marenah and Matt met I just knew (and hoped) that there would be something between them, apart from the attraction and chemistry there seemed to be something a little deeper there.
I am really looking forward to reading more from this series and as always this author! I 100% recommend this amazing read to others!

Be True with Me (Be with Me, #3)Be True with Me by C.A. Miconi
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Another heartwarming romance in this enjoyable series. This engaging small town, second chance romance had me captivated throughout. Social worker Lauren and Cop Jake meet again after ten years when they are assigned to the same case, and in order to give two children the Christmas they deserve, must work together. Lauren was a foster home child herself and learnt the hard way that not everyone is who they appear to be. However, a special lady took her in and showed her how to trust again and now she wants to be that person for other children. Unfortunately, Lauren’s first love also then betrayed her which left her devastated. Jake also learnt not to trust everyone when a classmate not only betrayed his trust but violated it when he publicly shared something private. Lauren and Jake need to be able to forget the past and rebuild trust between them if they are to give love a second chance. The main characters are both likeable and relatable and their chemistry really came across in the narrative and led to some steamy scenes. I also liked how their relationship developed throughout the story. I felt invested in Lauren and Jake’s second chance at love and was cheering them on hoping they would get their HEA.

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This is an amazing read. I love the you don’t have to wait long for the next book in a duet. The fact that this is both books in one makes it so, so, so much better. This book has everything from suspense to steam. I am all about a few really hot bodyguards falling in love. Since they are body guards I both books, you can imagine that there are going to be twists and turns that you don’t see coming. I love when a book can make me think a certain thing is going to happen and then completely blows me out of the water when it doesn’t. I couldn’t put this down until I was done reading it. It has me getting angry along with the characters, shocked by some events, chewing my nails trying to figure out what is gonna happen next, and fanning my face because the heat just pours off the pages. If you like fast paced, jaw dropping stories, this book is for you. If you don’t want to wait to get the next book, this book is for you. I honestly read it and it felt like it was just a continuation, even though there was a focus on other characters. It is seamlessly written and is definitely going to be an author I keep tabs on.

This is a duet collection that you must have. These two stories are the most intense, thrilling, dramatic, adventurous, and most steamy ones that I have read in a while. I couldn’t put the book down. This author is known for her magnificent writing when it comes to mafia stories. This does not disappoint at all. The writing is most engaging and very contemporary. You are sucked right in from the start. The characters are both endearing and adventurous. They are both good and naughty. I couldn’t get enough and I can’t wait to get into book 2 of the Sinful Duets collection.

This was a sweet holiday inspired, yet it can be read anytime, romance. Andy and Anne had both gone through some relationship hardships. Andy came back into the fold and had hoped to court Anne. He went about it in a different way. He was a secret pen pal. This intrigued Anne to say the least. Watching this relationship grow and develop was heartwarming and endearing. They did have struggles and were able to get through them. I really enjoyed the story. You felt the emotions. The characters were very relatable. Anne’s family were very supportive of her. It’s a beautiful story that showed God is always with you. A story that I highly recommend.

Be True with Me (Be with Me Series) by CA Miconi – Review by Jessie Hopkins

I was so invested in Lauren & Jake’s story from the beginning.
Lauren is really working tot fill a gap she has noticed in the system since she was a child. She is more than just a social worker but she is truly wanting to better the community she’s in.
Jake is trying to protect the community in his own way. He wants to protect people and hold the bad guys responsible.
Lauren & Jake have a past and the mystery of when Jake will be able to tell Lauren the truth and not push her away keeps you interested beyond the romance.

Be True with Me (Be with Me, #3)Be True with Me by C.A. Miconi
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This is the 3rd book in the Be With Me Series. This is a second chance romance which is full of angst, confusion, betrayal, heartbreak, trust issues and the sweetest of connections and chemistry. The author writes a beautiful story and you can’t help but feel invested in the characters and their lives.

We start the story with Lauren. She hasn’t had the best start to life. Her childhood has left her with a deep mistrust of people which has stopped her forming relationships with her peers. That is until she meets Jake. The closer they get the more she lowers her walls and let’s him in. But then something happens and she feels betrayed by Jake and her walls go back up. But was Jake really to blame for that incident?
Fast forward and their paths cross again as Lauren, now a social worker and Jake, a police officer work together to protect 2 children and give them the best Christmas ever.
However the more time they spend together the more they realise what they had lost all those years ago. The question is once Lauren learns the truth will she be able to forgive Jake and start to let her walls down again or will she never be able to trust him and they lose any chance of the happily ever after they both deserve.

This is a really moving story. I can understand Lauren’s way of protecting herself by closing herself off to the world and to the risk of falling in love and getting hurt but she is also denying herself the chance to find true happiness. I loved Jake’s character. He wasn’t in the wrong and has always been a kind caring soul and his determination to prove to Lauren that he would never hurt her made me love him even more. No matter what she threw at him or how she tried to push him away he stood firm to prove to her that she could trust him.

This is a new author for me which I enjoyed reading. I look forward to reading more from this series as well as seeing what is next for this author. This is a well written holiday romance story that will pull at your heartstrings in parts. The characters pull you into their world with ease and keep you engaged to the end. They are connectable, relatable and had me hoping they would find their peace with healing. A story where two people are in need of healing but will they be able to heal each other? A second chance at a romance story you don’t want to miss. This is a story that brings the holiday spirit and romance together in a great story. I really enjoyed the characters and what they brought to the story. I highly recommend this book.

Jay & Sasha
You can read this collection without having to read the other series associated with it, but if you want to know more about the characters you should read other works by this author.
When I first ran across the Sasha character (in a previous series), I didn’t like her very much. She was creating a lot of drama. In this story, you get a better understanding of why she is the way she is. I changed the way I felt about her in this book.
As you read this story you are likely to feel a wide range of emotions. The story keeps up a good pace and has characters you can connect to. Suspense, steamy scenes, danger…overall a great read.

Matt and Marenah
There were a couple of parts toward the beginning that grated on me a little, but it wasn’t enough to ruin the whole story. It starts off with a bang and maintains a good pace throughout. There are plenty of steamy scenes and suspenseful moments to keep your attention to the very end. It took me a little bit to warm up to Matt…that Princess bit just was not working for me. I enjoyed Marenah’s feistiness, and how many layers there are to her character.

Andy was so sweet in the way he went about trying to court Ann, I loved the innocence in the letter writing and how their relationship developed through this.

This book was so good! I love a good trigger warning. I am not a big fan of the MM expletives, but I am not a fan of MF expletives either and I am married to a man. BUT, I cannot fault the author for that because the storyline and even the expletives are incredibly well written.

This book hit me in the feels. Benji and Milo are two amazing characters with an immense amount of personality. They both have been through a lot dealing with the loss of Kellan and their parents not being the best. However, I love a good happy ending. I cannot recommend this novel enough. I may have found one of my new favorite authors!

Be True with Me is a wonderfully written Contemporary Romance/Second Chance interracial Romance that will take you on quite the emotional journey. I’ve read other books by this author and this one is definitely my favorite yet. This is a sweet short story that will pull at heartstrings . These two dated in college but was torn apart by a misunderstanding. Several years later they are now working on the same case. Lauren is a social worker and Jake’s a cop. These two definitely have chemistry between them. Can she open her heart to him? Will she give him the chance to explain what happened all those years ago? I highly recommend reading this book to find out what happens next. I’m looking forward to reading more from this Author.

Wicked Ends (Hidden Valley Elite #8)Wicked Ends by Isla Vaughn
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Wicked Ends is Book #8 (but the 10th instalment) in the Hidden Valley Elite series by Isla Vaughn. Not going to lie – this was a bit of a bittersweet read for me as I really needed to know how Shane and Winter’s story turned out – but I also knew that this was not only the conclusion to their story, but to the series too……and I’m not ready to say goodbye! But what a great way to round out the series!
Gah, this series has been one heck of a ride, and I’ve loved every minute! Each instalment just seemed to get better and better as we went along. It is incredibly hard to choose a favourite out of them all. But I really wish there were more to come still….
As with the other books in the series, this is a New Adult, enemies-to-lovers “bully” romance with plenty of chemistry, sizzle, angsty drama, love, hate, passion, emotion, tension, intrigue, suspense, revelations, family dynamics, and a little mystery.
As we previously discovered- The ‘Elites’ are brothers Cole and Damon and their cousins, twin brothers Phoenix and Shane. Each of the elites get their own book/s – and this one (Book #8) is the engrossing conclusion to Shane and Winter’s story. And OMG Ms. Vaughn has made them jump through hoops to find their HEA- or do they? I’m not going to tell.
Again, as with the other instalments, this is not a light and fluffy read- as there is a lot of darker content, which I won’t go into because I don’t want to spoil anything for you. But highly suggest checking the content warnings before diving in, because there are some disturbing/unsettling details contained in the book/series. So keep that in mind, especially if you have any triggers.
Yes- I was expecting it, and Ms. Vaughn certainly delivered- but pretty sure she enjoyed toying with my anxiety and playing with my emotions the whole way through the book and series! And I would happily turn around and do it all over again.
I am excited to see what Ms. Vaughn might do next!
Happy Reading…

Thank you, Isla Vaughn!

Winter and Shane have a long and painful history. They used each other for different reasons, but now one must ask the other for help as well as forgiveness. Will forgiveness be given? Winter is running from someone and the only person she feels safe with is Shane. Will he be able to prtect her? All of these books have been amazing from start to finish. I recommend reading them from the beginning so that you can get a feel as well as a better understanding for the characters. Sometimes their decisions don’t make sense but if you have the background information it all falls into place beautifully.

Whispered Surrender (Sinful Duets Book 1) by Via Mari

💗💗💗 ➹ BOOK SPOTLIGHT SHOWCASE ➹💗💗💗
Whispered Surrender (Sinful Duets Book 1) by Via Mari
Genre – Dark Romance
Page Count – 402
Cover Designer – Silla Webb
Synopsis –
Jay and Sasha:
I’ve never once protected someone outside of the job, or felt compelled to do anything of the kind, until Sasha.
Those beautiful hazy-filled eyes watch me with interest, suspicion, and longing, but something else too. An emotion that stirs a deep-seated need to control as though she were put on earth just for me.
The hot-headed Russian may be graceful for the public but is sharp-edged and deliciously sinful when not on stage.
When Sasha falls on the wrong side of the mafia, keeping her safe is not a question, but there’s much more at stake than danger in this power game we play.
I want to peel away the older layers she uses to protect her heart and replace it with a fiery ring that will protect her from anything and everything in this forbidden game of love and war.
My reputation and name are whispered on the lips of our enemies for a reason. I dare anyone, even the most notorious of crime families, to stand in the way of me claiming my wayward angel.
Matt and Marenah:
The last thing I expect to find when on an undercover assignment is an innocent blonde with sky blue eyes who makes my heart pound with excitement and blood race with an intensity that I’ve never felt before.
But the granddaughter of the head of the Russian Bratva is not who she appears to be. Not even her family knows her life’s passion, where she goes when she’s not with them, or the secrets that she keeps.
I’ve earned the reputation of one of the most fearless and ruthless protectors in the business for a reason. I’m not about to let any crime family come between me and the woman I want.
When secrets are revealed, I will protect, tame, and make the innocent and off limit mafia princess mine.
Even if the fearless beauty’s good intentions may be the demise of us all.
Whispered Surrender is the bundled collection of Wayward and Undercover. It is the first in a sinfully delicious collection of duets by International Best-Selling Author Via Mari. You will fall in love with these two fearless women who capture the hearts of the men who will do anything to protect them, even from themselves.
You will love these novels where the passion is fiery, the loyalty is fierce, and the stakes are high. Each story and couple have a guaranteed happily ever after.

Another great story from this author. This was definitely the ending I was hoping for. Shane and Winter story was one of my favorites of the series. Highly recommend all the books in the series since the author definitely knows what she’s doing when writing. The best part is that this book just like the previous ones is short enough that you will never struggle if you don’t like long stories. This is a must read.

Bad at Being Good (An MM Brother’s Best Friend Romance) by A.L. Morrow – Review by Sarah King

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Having read other books by Morrow, I knew this book would draw me in almost from the beginning, which it did. The characters are well developed, making it easy to picture the different ways they are dealing with the terrible loss they all experienced and well as things in each’s personal life. I would recommend this book, but make sure to take the triggers mentioned by the author into account.

Wicked Ends: A Dark College Bully Romance (Hidden Valley Elite Series, Book 8 ) by Isla Vaughn – Review by M Policicchio

Wicked Ends (Hidden Valley Elite #8)Wicked Ends by Isla Vaughn
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I know I have said this before in my reviews of this series, but it is one of the best series I have ever read. The characters are realistic, diverse, likable, smart, funny and bad. One of the overriding themes throughout the series, especially between the boys is family. They would do anything for those they care about and as each finds their special one, the circle gets a little bigger.

In the conclusion of the series, Winter and Shane are each chasing ghosts. Winter remembers more of what happened to her sister and Shane is being haunted not only by his father but a fling that won’t let him go. Things get more complicated with an almost abduction of Winter. Shane faces more pressure from his father for money. Shane’s grandfather wants to help but his assistance comes at a price, sometimes too steep to pay.

When the truth is finally revealed about what happened to Winter and her sister on that horrible day, Shane and Winter are linked more than they ever knew. One thing is for sure, they will be forever linked.

The Bonus Epilogue nearly had me in tears. It was beautiful and amazing. It was a nearly perfect ending to the series. The only way it would have been more perfect would have been to set up the next generation. But that is just me being greedy because I don’t want to let these characters go. I felt such a loss at the end of this book that I had to blindly watch TV for the rest of the night. I wasn’t emotionally ready to say goodbye. I needed time before moving on.

To the author: Thank you for these characters. Thank you for these stories. I look forward to your next book, the next series, the next whatever you do because you have found a permanent spot on my TBR list and my shelf!!

Wicked Ends: A Dark College Bully Romance (Hidden Valley Elite Series, Book 8 ) by Isla Vaughn – Review by Beverly Finnie

Wicked Ends (Hidden Valley Elite #8)Wicked Ends by Isla Vaughn
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Wicked Ends was the perfect ending to this essentially 10 book series. This was the final duet and probably the wildest. I love this author and everything I’ve read she’s written. This series is a slight guilty pleasure because it’s more garnered towards a younger generation, but that doesn’t mean everyone can’t enjoy it.
We pick up where we left off in Shane and Winter’s story.
Winter knows.
Winter has also been kidnapped.
Shane gets held as a suspect.
Shane thinks Winter may have done it on purpose.
Despite all that he decides to help her. He’s pulled to her and can’t imagine anything happening to her.
Someone’s after Winter the matter is can Shane keep her safe.
These two both come from some screwed up backgrounds. Shane’s life having more love and acknowledgment vs Winter’s family.
The roller coaster is coming to an end, but not without some sharp twists and turns before the finish.
It’s one of those books I read in one sitting. And I’m sad now since it’s all over. At some point I will go back and reread all of them in succession. All the duets slightly overlapped so one is revisiting previous stories at some point during book one of the next duet.
Time for you to dig in and finish this duet and series!

5 Stars 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

Pure Perfection!!! Wicked Ends is Book 8 of the Hidden Valley Elite series and I loved every book and not only wrapping up the story of Winter and Shane but also the series in itself. I cannot say enough that this is a must read series. While I am sad this series has completed, I am looking forward to what this author has in store in the future. The feels I get….the angst, romance, secrets, danger, connections I did not see coming with twists and turns……I loved it all.

Danger is lurking at every corner and you do not know who to trust……Winter is in danger and does not even know it. Shane wants to make her pay for a past that is hard for him to get over. When Winter is in trouble, Shane needs to be there for her at all costs. What Shane needs to do is overcome his past, be honest with the people he loves the most…Secrets are revealed with cold hard truths. Will Shane and Winter be able to overcome their pasts and how dark they were?

I do not want to give any spoilers away…I could talk about this book and series forever…. if you like dark, college bully romance…do yourself a favor and read this series in order…

Wicked Ends: A Dark College Bully Romance (Hidden Valley Elite Series, Book 8) by Isla Vaughn – Review by Ayla Phipps

Wicked Ends (Hidden Valley Elite #8)Wicked Ends by Isla Vaughn
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

The more wicked the brighter the ending. It was such a bittersweet moment when I started page one. I have been in love with this series since the very beginning with Cruel Start and now it has come to an end. One of the best things about this entire series is that a guaranteed happily ever after at the end of each duet. As always, the phenomenal Isla Vaughn perfectly continues the story in one breath.
Winter is missing, Shane the one and only suspect. Only it’s not that black and white. Someone has framed Shane, but no one can figure out who or why. More importantly why are they targeting Winter and determined to label her a murderer. This semester was supposed to be good, to reconnect and remember the life she left behind when her sister died, and her mom went to jail but being back in the place where it all began started something she couldn’t imagine was hiding in her memories. We build walls in our minds for a reason and Winter’s walls crack and crumble with each new threat, the feeling of someone watching her even in her room asleep. The only person that makes her feel safe is also the person that got close to her with lies even if the only lie was his name. Shane confronts his pain and when Winter apologizes, he feels sincerity and worries for her when she comes asking for help in defending herself. Everything seems to be against him this year, first Phoenix’s accident, Joe coming back into his life, Luke Green and now Winter and the wickedness that he once thought was inside her.
Who has a target for Winter? Will Shane overcome the accusations? How will the truth affect their relationship? The author’s world has been my favorite place this past year and honestly, I already feel lost finishing this incredible series. Each couple in a way builds on the story of the next and the previous. Knowing they each found their way through the Savage, Brutal, Cruel, and Wicked truths to find their match and their safe place is beyond amazing. The greatest part the five-year jump at the very end and the love, and happiness that surrounded them all.
