Hate You Later (Lit Lovers, #1)Hate You Later by Ciara Blume
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Georgia owns a small town pet store and has entered into a Pet Influencer contest with her dog, Cookie. Hudson’s family owns a large company that owns the building Georgia’s shop rents, and has just raised the rent. He, too, has entered the contest but with his cat, Oliver. Coincidentally, they have been paired up in the contest. The two keep running into each other but Hudson’s business threatens Georgia’s business. With Georgia’s hatred of Hudson’s family and their business, the sparks that are flying are either love or hate.
Opinion
This is definitely a “meet cute’ book. With the two bumping into each other constantly, the reader sits on the edge waiting for them to realize who the other one is. Laughter and frustration are certain while reading this book. I highly recommend this book to anyone who loves cute love stories.

Hate You Later (Lit Lovers, #1)Hate You Later by Ciara Blume
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

An enjoyable and entertaining romantic comedy which had me happily turning the pages. This was a lighthearted and heartwarming story, with a twist on the enemies to lovers theme, which I thoroughly enjoyed. Georgia Starr is dedicated to saving strays, and will do anything to rescue the pet shelter which is being threatened by the Holm family. Georgia comes up with the idea of dressing up her adorable, but goofy boxer mutt and making him a viral sensation, in order to save the shelter. Hudson Holm is dealing with the fallout from booting the pet shelter, when he comes up with an idea to fix his family’s PR problems. His plan involves turning the Persian cat who he’s cat sitting for into an online celebrity.
Every time Georgia and Hudson meet in person they can’t deny their mutual attraction but they also clash, a bit like cats and dogs! What they don’t know is that they have been chatting happily online, just as their pets. However, once their identities are revealed will they stay as enemies of become lovers. This story had a real feel good factor, with some great characters, especially Georgia and Hudson, who’s chemistry really came across in the narrative. The animal characters were just as likeable as their owners, and the storyline flowed well. It had some real laugh out loud moments as well as some drama and of course plenty of romance. I definitely recommend this story.

Amber Stone is starting a new job in Seattle, Wa. Amber finds a kinship with Chloe who she meets when she arrives for her job as curator of the Natural History Museum. What Amber doesn’t realize is that she is part of an ancient prophecy life as she knows it is about to implode and it will have strings to Chloe and several others.

There is a lot that goes on in this book. I thought it was very well written, hops around a bit in different time frames to give a full idea of what all has happened since the time of the prophecy to current. I thought this was quite different then what I ordinarily read and I enjoyed it. There is so much to this story that I did not delve into as it keeps you guessing.

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Light hearted romance that doesn’t feel tacky or overdone. It plays on clichés, chance what-if’s, and the opportunity for readers to shake their heads in knowing as we watch these characters fall. It kept the humor without being cheesy, and had some hard-hitting concepts that were relatable and felt close to home. It dealt with struggles that typical romances don’t hit on without centering solely around them.

Overall a good read and lighthearted feel good book.

Breathless in Love Audiobook (The Maverick Billionaires Book 1) by Bella Andre & Jennifer Skully – Review by Kerry Baker

This is a great romance story that was perfect to listen to while I was going about my day. This story was easy to engage with and the characters were enjoyable. Both complemented the other. I thought the narration of the book was good too. It was one of those narrations that, while I listened to it, I didn’t hear it because I was so focused on the story.

This is a pretty new author to me and so far I am enjoying her work. The pacing was perfect and the story was well written. This is one audio book that I thoroughly enjoyed and I am looking forward to the next.

I always devour any book that this author creates and writes. I especially loved this one. Great start to a new series, with characters that really make the story come to life, and make you unable to put the book down!

Loved this story. I felt for Katrina and I really loved how relatable the author had made her be. Chase was different but in a seductive and powerful way. Their time together really made my dear kindle sweat in anticipation. I loved how perfectly they fit together, and then again they did not. The past has a way of haunting us, and that is what made this book what it is. I loved how the author wrote them so deeply, and how the past really influenced them in the present. The book was a thrilling, deep, and seductive read for me. I could not out this one down Love the author’s writing style! I especially loved this book!

I can not say enough good things about this author and the book, and the series it is a part of. For sure a must read, and a very high must read on my list. The author, book, and series are not ones to pass up!

This is the third book in this series. I enjoyed reading this romance story just as much as the previous two books. I highly suggest reading the previous two books to help your enhancement of this series as well as the author’s writing style. This is a well written story about trust and keeping someone safe. I enjoyed how the author used details to make her story come to life. The characters are connectable and made me feel as if I was part of their world. They pulled me in from the start and kept me coming back for more. They have great growth and chemistry throughout which made the story easy and entertaining to read. This is a great story by an author that I have enjoyed reading and never hesitate to pick up. I highly recommend this book and this author.

Hate You Later is the first book in the Lit Lovers Series and is a super fun Rom Com that I absolutely loved reading. I’m fairly new to this author but I’m definitely adding her to my list to check out what other books she has written. I had so much fun reading this book I caught myself laughing a lot. The characters are fun and developed and make the story come to life. It’s not at all what I was expecting but it was just what I needed to read . This is a story about Georgia and Hudson, she has a business making pet costumes and his family owns the building. These two are both about to use there pets in online chat to get to know each other. I was laughing so hard at times I was asked what was so funny and I kept on reading. I highly recommend reading this super fun book to find out what happens next. This is the second book in the series and IT WAS JUST AS GOOD AS THE FIRST BOOK! In this story it revolves around Gemma, who is a journalist who is on a mission to understand what her father was involved in as she never got to have that relationship with him before his untimely demise. One thing Gemma did not anticipate coming in her way was Dominic, who will not let anything that is threatening his organization succeed. When these two met it was like I could feel the heat, tension, longing, desire bubbling up from the page! While Gemma was going through the motions to find her answers she is thrust into danger and Dominic comes to her rescue. But will he get there in time? You will need to read this book to find out! I cannot wait to recommend this great series to my friends!

I have read many books by this talented author and this one did not disappoint! This book revolves around Ava, who is a hard-working lady who has had tragedy strike which caused her to separate from her husband. Cole does not want to be separated from his wife and the last thing that he is wanting is to let his wife leave him. Cole comes up with a proposition that she cannot refuse which leads to a wonderful story line. I read this book super-fast and could not put it down. I cannot wait to read the other books in this series and continue reading about everyone’s roles and how they all play out. If you are looking for a great romance book that has a great story line, then this is the book for you!

Absolutely a 5 star read and I would give it more if I could!! OMG I really needed this fun and so entertaining read. It truly lifted my spirits. I loved the all the characters but of course especially Georgia and Hudson. We have all read the enemies to lovers style of books before but I tell you this one was so well written I really can’t rave enough about it. This is a sweet light read – a romcom. Georgia runs a business that makes costumes for dogs and supports a pet rescue. Hudson is the family that owns the building that her business is in. What they don’t know is that they have been paired up in a pet owner’s contest – so while bad news comes through the business side, they are flirty and interested each other via their pets! This is a great light read – sweet and quick. I enjoyed this as a palate cleanser between some heavy reads. If you love romance, this is a good one to pick up!

I just loved this book! Georgia and Hudson are as different as the dog and cat they respectively own. This rom com had me in stitches at their antics. Both main characters are stubborn and unwilling to admit what is right in front of them. The online chats were perfect and so realistic. I can’t wait to tear into the next book.

Another winning book in this series. Petty has always been a jerk but in this book we learn more about him and understand why. When he was little, he made a promise to his dad before he was killed in battle. This promise has made him who he is today and has gotten him into a sticky situation. Too embarrassed to let his brothers in, he gets himself into more trouble. Feeling alone, he can only turn who might understand, the woman he’s supposed to protect, Roselyn. She feels like they are oil and water but she’s drawn to him no e the less. She can see there is more to him than he lets on.

Once again this author has went above and beyond and brought us another amazing story. Bringing to light a subject that not many people are ready to talk about. This is definitely a must read.

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Another amazing story featuring the Satan’s Devils MC, Las Vegas Chapter, and having read and enjoyed the previous books in the series, I was looking forward to this latest one, and I was definitely not disappointed. I was hooked from start to finish by Petty and RoseLyn’s story. As usual the world of the Satan’s Devils came vividly to life by the descriptive narrative, making me feel immersed in their world and in the story. Petty had spent years hiding who he really is, even from his club brothers, out of shame, but he thought that at least his past was over. However, when his nemesis returns, with the intention of destroying his life, Petty realises that just like in the past he can’t protect himself from her. Meanwhile, he’s been put on bodyguard duty to protect RoseLyn from her dangerous ex boyfriend. RoseLyn is grateful to be under the protection of the Satan’s Devils’ Security Services, but her bodyguard Petty is so disrespectful and rude.

However, it doesn’t take her long to realise that beneath the persona he presents to the world is actually someone very different, and she decides to see if she can save him. When his brothers desert him, Petty realises that RoseLyn is still there for him. Petty was not an easy character to like in the beginning but as his backstory was explained, and as his character developed, especially having met RoseLyn, by the end I was hoping he would get his HEA. RoseLyn’s character is perfect for Petty, and she was an relatable character. I felt completely invested in the story, which flowed well and the plot twists kept me gripped. As usual, I was taken on an emotional rollercoaster whilst reading this MC romance. An enjoyable and engaging read which I definitely recommend, and I’m now waiting impatiently for book four!

I enjoyed the overall pacing of the book and how the author seemed to effortlessly keep my interest.

I can never get enough of this wonderful author, or the stories that they create with convincing characters that are real as ones can get! This book had me hooked right from the start and held me through the end!

Love Satan’s Devils with a passion. I must say at first glance, Petty was not someone I was super fond of, or even cared for for that matter. As I read I got to know what made Petty, well, and I must say by the time we reached the conclusion my opinion had shifted. I love how this author can captivate you with characters and do such a strong character development that an opinion you have of one, can completely be different by the end! Loved Rose by the way. She was a great character and brought out Petty’s softer side, especially the ordeals they faced I think those ordeals made Petty allow himself to open his heart, and admit all he had right in front of him and that he was not about to lose that! Freaking great read! Absolutely loved it!

The author absolutely amazes me in every book they release. I was sucked in hard from the start, and I did not want this book to end! Highly recommend this book, series and of course the author! A must read!

Petty's Crime (Satan's Devils MC Las Vegas #3)Petty’s Crime by Manda Mellett
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This author has done it again. I’m familiar with Petty from little bits of him mentioned in her previous books. It was really quite interesting to get his story in this book. He grew up being taught that a man never hits a woman. When he married that “evil witch” of a wife and ends up being the abused husband, no one expects it. It broke my heart to read all the turmoil that her coming back into his life caused. I would have said, “Hell no.” He seemed to have feelings for RoseLyn and it would have been nice to see him acknowledge them sooner. For him to not really believe her, made it a bummer that she ended up getting kidnapped. Sometimes big drama has to happen to make you realize that you almost lost what you love. As usual, the author does not disappoint with her writing. We get snippets of the other characters in the MC. We have our drama, romance and flat-out butt kicking. One of my favorite MC writers, the book is a must read for MC fans and romantic suspense fans.

Petty was told by his father to protect girls/women, you do not hurt them. This was at the age of 4 and here he is many years later, a security detail to one of the most frustrating women he has ever met. Yet when she sings he is mesmerized. This story, much like the many others I have found myself reading my Manda Mellett, is wonderful. I love the way the author brings out the compassionate, empathetic sides to these supposed rough, tough biker guys. Petty is no exception to this. I loved this book.

This is a new to me author and I really enjoyed his writing style. This story follows 3 different persons. Cat, Annie and Robbie. While at times it was a little slow, the longer you read it the more invested and involved you become. The story line flows back and forth between the 3 major characters in the story and you watch how they grow and evolve together. Seeing how they run the music contest and their own personal battles outside of work was really intriguing.

This is the first book I e read by this author. I wasn’t sure what to expect going into it but it was a good read.

Cat and Annie are organizing a songwriting contest. Thanks to the order of their boss, Robbie is now also working on this contest. Each character tells their perspective of working in the music industry because no two people experience something the same way. So many pressures come up for each character through the story and you see them fight to overcome everything.

This was very well written and I enjoyed it. Glad I gave it a chance!

Fighting Chance by Toni Denise – Review by Angelina Frazzini

Fighting ChanceFighting Chance by Toni Denise
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This book is in the shorter side but definitely enjoyable nonetheless.

Kendall needs a story. While she isn’t fearless, she’ll do whatever it takes to get the story she needs. Then she meets Chad and everything she thought she knew is flipped upside down. Chad is the guy everyone wants. He is an MMA fighter so not only to all the women want him he’s the guy everyone wants to fight. Kendall isn’t the type of woman Chad usually deals with. He doesn’t know how to handle the fact that she doesn’t get all crazy over him like the others do. Chad isn’t your typical fighter and of course he keeps that close to the vest. Imagine how difficult it is agreeing to an interview when you know you are keeping secrets. These two have a lot of chemistry and once Chad gets Kendall to agree to a date, it should be smooth sailing. Will Kendall let down her guard enough to let Chad in or will their date be the start and end for them?

This isn’t your typical MMA story but I really liked that. The chemistry between Kendall and Chad was written very well. You could almost feel it jumping off the page. I really enjoyed this book and will definitely be checking out more by this author.

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

The Warrior is the third book in The Freemasons series by Nicole Flockton. It’s another captivating instalment in this fantastic series which is making it harder and harder to pick my favourite book- as each instalment seems to slightly eclipse the one(s) before. These Freemasons have well and truly won me over. But it’s not just the hunky characters that draw me in- these books have got a strong, meaty story to go along with all the sexy yumminess and enticing steamy developments.
With plenty of action, mystery, drama, intensity, chemistry, danger, tension, and crime + investigation- it kept me hooked right off the bat. I found myself reading avidly- devouring it all in one session, because I really needed to know how everything would play out in the end.
Jude Cadmon is willing to do whatever it takes to find his sister. It has taken a while, but finally, all their efforts seem to have come to fruition and the end is in sight- failure, now, is not an option. Enter Sienna Townsend, the ‘bait’ they need to set the trap that will ultimately bring down the enemy. Jude realises that he isn’t prepared to sacrifice ‘everything’, so is determined to keep Sienna safe in the dangerous process, while also saving his sister. What happens makes for quite an intriguing read.
Happy Reading!

Thank, you, Nicole Flockton!

Petty

I’m not the nicest person in the world, I’ve cultivated that world view. I’m a man’s man, full of testosterone and with the balls to prove it.

I’ve spent years kidding everyone as to who I am, hiding the parts of me I’m ashamed of.

I didn’t expect my nemesis to raise her head and step back into my life with the intention of destroying everything I’d so carefully crafted around me.

I thought we were over, done and finished, but she had different ideas. I’m no more able to protect myself now than I’ve been in the past.

RoseLyn

As I’ve a dangerous ex hounding me I’m under the protection of the Satan’s Devils’ Security Services.

Petty is one of my bodyguards and he’s an absolute dick. He has no respect for anyone other than his brothers. If he wasn’t so good at his job, I’d have demanded he be replaced.

Though slowly I come to discover there’s something about him, something I think only I can see. It lives beneath the persona he presents to the world.

Maybe as much as he’s protecting me, I can save him?

It won’t be easy. He’s not going to let anyone in. But when his brothers all desert him, there’s only one person he can turn to, and that’s me.

Yesterday’s Over is the third gripping book in the Philly Heat series by Becky Flade. It is another tense and intriguing romantic suspense, and is a fitting addition to this compelling series. It has all the ingredients needed to make it an engrossing read- with crime and investigation, mystery, drama, danger, chemistry, sizzle, tension, action, violence, and more.
The story is a well-woven, with a tight and intriguing plot. The characters have been skilfully crafted into fully developed individuals with their own unique personalities, quirks, and flaws. They were so realistic and believable, and made this story all the more convincing.

Fall to Pieces by Becky Flade – Review by Beverly Finnie

Fall to Pieces (Philly Heat series, #2)Fall to Pieces by Becky Flade
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Definitely different, but I loved the different! Fall to Pieces is an investigation within an investigation. A murder mystery with Internal Affair’s right in the middle.
Lexi, a North East Philly detective, has been assigned a new partner. Xavier has been assigned to Lexi’s precinct to investigate Lexi, what better way to do that then as her partner. First case as partners, a homicide of a child. A case that could make or break her career Lexi is determined to get justice for the family.
Xavier is torn in his quest to prove that Lexi is unfit. Lexi exudes a lot of confidence and qualities he admires, but feels she can be careless. Oh and he’s also attracted to her, that never makes things easy.
I loved the character development of Lexi and Xavier as individuals and working together, but the book has me posing a few questions for you.
Will Lexi find out Xavier has been brought in to essentially “take her badge”?
Will Lexi and Xavier act on their mutual attraction?
Will justice be delivered for Tommy Welsh?
Three intriguing questions that have answers just as intriguing of answers, but if I answered them for you what good is that. READ FIND OUT THOSE 3 ANSWERS AND MORE! This is my second time reading this book. The first time was as a stand-alone, this time I read it in succession with book 1. Made me enjoy it so much more. I love when an author creates characters and focuses on specific ones with each book release.
It’s a whirlwind of a book that will DEFINITELY NOT DISAPPOINT! You are going to want more when it’s over!

Yesterday's Over (Philly Heat series, #3)Yesterday’s Over by Becky Flade
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

These books in this series are great! Yesterday’s Over is no exception. I loved it! I finally read the series in succession but it works just as well as a stand-alone. I love what the author is doing. How everyone is inter-mingled though each book focuses on a specific couple. Romance and some suspense, my favorite combination.
This time the author is focusing on Medical Examiner Trudy and UPenn Anthropologist Ben. Coming together is an unexpected way. A south Philly explosion uncovered bones that have been buried for at least 30 years. Unfortunately Trudy wants answers when Ben is trying to explain there never may be any. She doesn’t accept that. She pushes and pushes so hard they end up in a scary situation. Someone is after her or is it the bones. Break-ins and threats are made, but Trudy pushes forward despite Ben’s urgency to let it go. Ben cares for her but his lack of support could be a deal breaker. It has them at odds with one another, despite the chemistry.
Does Trudy get the answers she seeks?

Again I love what the author has done across this whole series. I was drawn to this series because it’s based in Philadelphia PA, and I’m glad. I started and haven’t looked back. I want more! You want some suspenseful romances the Philly Heat Series is definitely for you!
