Secrets and a love triangle I loved you yesterday is an intriguing contemporary romance with twists and turns as long buried secrets had a way of surfacing. With angst, drama, emotional heartache and betrayal this book unfolds in a realistic way. This is the first book I have read by this author and I really enjoyed the writing. The characters are very well developed and easy to connect with. I am happy to see there is another book coming.

This was a fun beach series set in Hawaii with all of the emotions. The characters are likable and easy to relate to, the setting is amazing and I loved hearing about all the local places that I haven’t heard of or been to as a tourist, and the story lines were easy to follow. The first book is Keoni and Lou’s story. Keoni is an amazing surfer but hasn’t gone pro. He holds onto the loss of a friend and blames himself. He meets Lou who is a tourist, who helps him change his feelings about tourists. The second book is Declan and Pearl’s story. Declan is a professional surfer but hasn’t been back to his home in Hawaii since the loss of a friend and a big fight with Keoni. He is just barely holding onto his sobriety and walking through life with no emotion. Pearl loves to surf and wants to be noticed so she can stop waitressing and make it back to Hawaii. The last book is Henry and Claudia’s story. Henry is a stuntman and Claudia is a bit part actress. They become friends as Henry decides to help her. There is drama and chemistry and this is a very well written series of relationships!
This is a series that I have enjoyed reading from the first book. This is the fifth book which I highly recommend reading the previous books in this series to help your enjoyment of this series and author. I enjoy how the author has the ability to pull me into their story from the start. The characters come to life on each page by their writing skills and attention to details. This is a well written story that will make you question how far you will go to protect your children. This is a story you don’t want to miss. A fast paced story that is hard to put down. A story that is full of emotion with relationships and family. I can’t wait to see what is next for this author. I highly recommend this book and this author.

I enjoyed this second chance romance story. This is the first book in this series and what a great start it is. I look forward to reading the next book in the future. This is a well written story about Mavis and her love for two brothers. One broke her heart and the other picked up the broken pieces. I enjoyed how these characters were able to pull me into the story from the start. They are engaging, creative characters that bring life to the story. They have great growth and their chemistry made the story easy to read. This is a fast paced story that is not only entertaining but had me coming back for more. I really enjoyed reading this book and what a great story. You don’t want to miss what happens with Mavis and her story with twin brothers. I highly recommend this book.

I feel like I was transported back to the 60’s to Hawaii, where the author describes in the most gorgeous detail. I have a major impulse to hop on a plane now. You may as well grab the box set because once you read the first one, you’ll want to devour them all!
Book #1, Try Easy describes the complication of a love triangle on vacation, which definitely sounds like a double-edged sword. What could go wrong if it only happens on a trip? The obvious and palpable chemistry between Lou and Keoni is irresistible. Will Lou remain faithful or is the attraction just too strong? Book #2, Try Me goes into the tragically beautiful story between Declan and Pearl. On the surface everything looks as it should but hiding underneath are the ever-evolving feelings that Declan shouldn’t have. This is supposed to be a fake relationship, just for show, so why are these emotions getting stronger? Another couple with amazing chemistry, you’ll breeze right through this book. I connected with each character so easily which can be such a difficult thing to do, especially with an entire box set. I’m so glad I picked these up and can’t wait to read more from Jill Brashear!
Wow! I adored this series. I breezed through all three books and highly enjoyed them. I felt myself getting sucked into the story more and more as I went on. While Book 2 was definitely my favorite, I couldn’t help but fall in love with all of the characters and the setting. This series made me want to throw on a bathing suit and learn to surf. It also made me crave living in Hawaii and getting to experience the beautiful ocean there everyday. Within this retro romance, there was all sorts of love, lust, tragedy, drama, and happy endings.

Ashley is a quiet young student who just wants to finish high school and go to college. At home she is treated like Cinderella, by her step mother and 2 mean step sisters. No spoilers. This is one of those stories you need to read. The author has written this fast paced teenage high schoolers story. There are bullies, mean girls and a mean step family. What a great coming of age story for the teens. Adults will enjoy this too, I did. I’m looking forward to the next book in this exciting series.

Wow! This is a fiery elemental romance. I found it to be full of fun, adventure, drama and romance. Chaos was definitely around causing a bit of war. The Elementals were supposed to be protecting the Earth and not falling for a human. A big challenge is what they have to work through. The story is well written. The characters blend into the story so well. It all flowed together so magnificent. I was engaged from the moment I started. I could feel the sparks fly between the two of them. Watching their relationship develop and work it self out is a large part of what makes this book so amazing. This is right up there on my list of favorite romances for the year

While each book in true romance style, does have two people brought together, each book draws each couple together in different ways and I just know you will be unable to resist caring about them and wishing for their happy endings. I Loved You Yesterday was the first book in a trilogy and it was difficult to put down. The story follows a love triangle that started back in high school and after years apart, it starts back up again. Mavis finds herself caught between twin brothers, Josh and Austin. Josh was her high school love, but happily ever after didn’t involve sleeping with his brother and getting pregnant. How could she admit the truth and break his heart? Instead, she finds herself running away. Years later with both brothers back in her life, the past catches up fast. Lessons are learned, secrets exposed, and choices have to be made. This is a great book with good character development. You find yourself lost in this love story. laughing with the characters at some times, and heart breaking with them at others. This story is well written and has you frustrated with the characters for some of their choices, while at the same time feeling for them and understanding their struggles. I enjoyed every minute and am glad it is a trilogy because I am not ready for the story to end. I would definitely recommend this book and I can’t wait to read the rest of them.
The Lonely Hearts of San Sity was cute. It made you feel what the characters were feeling, with a little bit of humor thrown in. I know I chuckled to myself a few times. The author writes a sweet fast paced mixed race romance. Time just disappeared but the content worked. Jules is a talent scout looking for the next big reality star in middle of nowhere Florida. Not being used to the small town feel, she seems uncomfortable every time approaches her about their new reality show. Very overwhelming, especially when the one person she wants, is the one person who wants no parts of it. She might be attracted to him too! Mitchel, loathes the fact this reality show and talent scout are coming to his small town. He thinks they’re trash. What he didn’t expect is that the one person he wants to not like turns his world upside down. Nursing a broken heart, is Jules the woman that will bring him back to life? I enjoyed what the author wrote. Left me wanting more!

Although Romano and Raven are supposed to be enemies, there is no stopping love. Romano is a Master Vampire of the Consulate sent back to his territory in Romania to end a centuries old feud that the vampires and witches are having over the land. Raven is a young witch that is too curious for her own good. One evening she is caught by Romano lurking on his property. The attraction flares and they can’t stop thinking about each other. Raven unknowingly puts herself in a dangerous position caught in the middle of a feud she tries to understand. Despite the hatred she’s been taught to have towards the vampires, she finds herself wanting to help stop the war. After meeting Romano, she realizes that they are not all horrible creatures.
The story is interesting and filled with danger and intrigue. Although it’s book four in the series, it can be read as a stand-alone. The author tried to meld the modern world with the old world in this book. I feel it didn’t always work but it didn’t take away from the story. Having not read the previous books in the series, I was happy to not be lost. I enjoyed the book and will probably go back and read the rest.

The Lonely Hearts of San Sity by Stacy-Deanne is a story of love found in a small town. While scouting for talent for her upcoming reality show Jules meets Mitchel and thinks he is just what the show needs. Unfortunately for her, Mitchel wants nothing to do with the show or her. This story is a quick fun read. I really enjoyed watching Jules and Mitchel warm up to each other. There was good chemistry. I think there was room for more fleshing out of the story. It was over way too quickly but it was very enjoyable!

Aloha Series Box Set Books 1-3 by Jill Brashear. I loved this series so much. Its full of drama, romance and mystery set in Hawaii in the late 1960’s about a dried up actress who is still struggling to let go of her old life. Try Right is the first book and it was good. Its about Claudia who is a older actress which the only part she can get is a bit part in a tv series set in Hawaii. She has ulterior motives for taking the part. Try Me is the second book in the series and its about Peggy, the older actress’s daughter. Pearl doesn’t want to be an actress she wants to be a professional surfer. Throw in some romance and you have a great read. Try Easy is the 3rd book in the series and it was my favorite. Try Right is a second chance romance story about Mary Lou Hunter who is a photographer. Hawaii is every photographers dream. Keoni Makai is a famous surfer and he and Mary Lou hit it off chemistry wise. He’s also a great subject to photograph. These 3 books throw you in the middle of Hawaii and they are about finding yourself, changing your identity and falling in love. Amazing box set.
I give this book 3.5 stars. I loved the story but felt the end was rushed. The character development was great. The story lets you get an inside look at how mean kids can be to new kids, be possessive about things or people they think they have a claim to and how you can find friendship in the most uncommon people. I always enjoy a good enemies to lovers trope mixed with the stepbrother by marriage.

This is a good enemies to lovers romance, with two characters that have a great chemistry between them. This is quite a short book, making it pretty easy to read. It doesn’t take long to get into the story and it the steady flow carries you along. For me this book was all about the characters. They had a great chemistry right from the start and I found the two of them to be entertaining. I think the story itself would have benefited from a bit more detail, however I still found it to be enjoyable. This is a great book for one of those lazy, reading afternoons.

I Loved You Yesterday is a really sweet story about second chances. It’s full of guilt, drunken bad decisions, love and friendship. Josh is a total push over who should have more respect for himself… but he is also very loving and forgiving which was sweet. The reason Mavis left was not much of a shock, I saw it coming. However, I didn’t expect all the other stuff that came AFTER her leaving. The end of the epilogue, I also kind of expected and secretly hoped for… maybe Austin will take that position at the Chicago office after all. I want a story about Lauren and Mitch too, here’s to hoping! Although the book was much of what I expected, I still really enjoyed it. It is a sweet book, full of some shock, and I recommend it to those who enjoy romantic novels.

This was a nice, short read. It went by pretty quickly and there wasn’t really any conflict in the book. The romance was fast-paced as well. The main character cared way too much about what others think. The male main character fell in love so fast it was almost comical. I really loved the idea of the blind date restaurant, it was a very unique idea.

A Love Restrained by Becky Flade is a romantic suspense thriller that is hard to put down. Jayson and Kylee should have been high school sweethearts but Jayson’s family situation stopped that from happening. Fast forward a few years and the pair apparently find themselves on opposite sides of the legal system but unable to stay away. When a threat tears them apart, it is a shock for both of them when they meet again and things are not the same as they were. This was a fast paced book, split into three distinct parts. I was a bit skeptical when I first started it but quickly found that I really liked the characters and the storyline was fast paced and an engaging read. I really enjoyed this story.

I personally really loved this semi-sweet romance. However there were a few editing issues which kind of pulled me out of the story as I was reading. But all in all it was a great story, full of romance, family, intrigue, suspense and more that it kept me interested through the story. The characters were great and you definitely felt the high school dynamic through the story. While this book was on the longer side there is definitely enough to keep you interested through the story as a whole.

I gave this 3 stars because this reminded me of Cinderalla getting picked at by her evil stepmom and her step sisters. The only difference here is a girl named Ashley trying to live a normal at High School without drawing too much attention to herself who later ends up helping prince charming Harry, who has to go to this school to get his life straight but ends up needing help to hide who he is and from people telling what to do. Both Ashely and Harry change their whole life around, is love worth it for them, or do they have to be told what to do? Other than that it has some twisted parts and an interesting point of view of how Ashley shows her strong side in life.

Totally great! Battling Beckett is a contemporary step-brother romance told that runs the high school ‘enemy to lover’ line. Beckett is an interesting character – one that I went through a lot of feelings over – he was not a very nice person. Greer was so strong and went through so much. This was an easy read but I feel that this would have been even better being told in first person and multiple POV allowing for a deeper connection and understanding of the motivations behind the characters. Light on steam and romance but still for mature readers.

A sweet novella with a city girl and a hot cowboy! I love this author and the way she transports us into her world with her characters each book. Jules and Mitchel were opposites attract in the best way. This book gave steamy chemistry, charm, humor, love, and the message of love where you least expect it. I liked the push and pull with Jules and Mitchel and watching them come together pushing down obstacles. Short but sweet and definitely a book to read again.

3.5/5 stars This book is my first read by the author and it was okay. The characters seemed older than they were, but that could be because they were wealthy. The storyline had a solid idea, I just don’t think it was executed well. The book was very predictable and I could tell what was going to happen next consistently. The parent’s reaction seemed unrealistic but it helped keep the main idea of the book flowing.

This book for SURE takes me back to my Wattpad days. It’s a gorgeous enemies to lovers book, which is my favorite. It is a tad on the taboo side, but honestly so were 90% of the One Direction and 5 Seconds of Summer fanfics that were running rampant all over the internet in the mid 2010s. I love it. I’m not a sports person, but such a sucker for the sporty dude and quiet girl romances. I wasn’t even half way through the book when I already knew I’d be obsessed with it. I definitely recommend!

This is the first book I have read by the author and I look forward to exploring more of her Postscript Island series! The novel was well written and an immersive world where you feel you belong. This is a book you can pick up and lose yourself. I am all for slow romance lines, but a slow-stirring plot was a minor drawback for me. The story follows 2 first-time loves, Weston and Marissa, and how they are reintroduced to each other after several years of a part with a dramatic break. Of course, there are a lot of words unsaid between the two of them, and their hometown of Postscript is oblivious, even though it might have been Marissa’s doing. They come together to explore the intrigue surrounding the island’s citizens and their possessions. Then upon further investigation, things go from curious to downright dangerous, not just for our two main characters, but others as well! Along the way they have the ability to reconnect, but will Weston’s overprotective nature and the intrigue ruin it for Marissa’s strong independent nature and protective focus for Postscripts citizens stand in the way? Read the book and escape to Postscript Island!!
