I can tell you that I was caught off guard by Paige and Mark’s story more than once. Their love story is certainly one that is a slow burn, you know what’s coming, or at the very least, you hope that the end brings all the happiness to them both. I love how this author built up both characters so that the reader is able to connect with them, and understand the choices they make, at least, most of them, and is able to root for them regardless of the hurdles they may encounter.

I hope that this author continues to weave these tales, as I found it very easy to read, and even more difficult to put down. In fact, I devoured this novel in one day! Highly recommend if you’re looking for a sweet, country living type of read. Well done!

I was definitely drawn to this book since it takes place in Helena Montana and I was born and raised just an hour away. It was fun to see the writer’s depiction of Montana and the beauty of the state! We meet Paige a New Yorker who has worked hard to become a respected art curator for a top gallery. She is sent to Montana to meet Mark, a reluctant painter, who she wants to represent. From the moment they meet, the chemistry is electric between them. Mark finally agrees to do the paintings and Paige plans to stay in Montana with him on his horse rescue ranch until they are complete. Unfortunately, Paige has been burned romantically and so has Mark. They have to figure out if they can overcome their pasts to make their future together. I couldn’t put the book down and devoured it in one sitting. The characters are well written and multidimensional. The descriptive language really brings to life the beauty of Montana, the paintings, and the horses. My heart broke when we learned more about their pasts and their separate traumas. The author did an amazing job of pacing in the book and drew you into the story. Overall a very sweet and steamy romance story with some interesting twists. I haven’t read other stories by the author previously, but I will definitely be checking out her other works.

Just look at the cover of this book! Honestly, I had a good feeling just from the cover. I like books that have cover art that actually contributes to the story in a meaningful way. From the first chapter I was hooked! “Truth or Kill” was read almost entirely in one sitting for me. I love the journey that the two main characters take in this story. First, there’s Sydney, who is invited to what she thinks will be a relaxing retreat in the woods. Then, there is Kage, who Sydney first meets at the reception desk of the lodge where the group is staying. The relationship that develops had me wondering about their individual thought processes, and how their decisions would direct the future of each of their stories. I thoroughly enjoyed the ride!

As this series continues I am yet again captivated by the relationships of both friends and family detailed and developing throughout the storyline. You could if you wish read this fun and heartfelt book on its own but I do highly recommend reading this series from the start as there is a storyline threaded through this book that started in the first and I believe will further develop in the 3rd. You won’t want to miss any details.
This book brings us the story of Mia and Nicholas and adds more to the story of the wonderful Yiayia and her life. Wow she is one sassy woman that I’d love to have in my life. Nicholas falls for Mia straight away but boy oh boy does he hate that idea and acts out accordingly. In fact his hostility around her is so strong she is absolutely convinced he hates her. Again there are lots of twists and turns in their story to keep you captivated and wanting more! Bring on book 3 I say!

Paige and the Reluctant Artist is a delightful story of a successful gallery curator and Mark, a reluctant artist. I enjoyed the New York art gallery aspect as well as the Montana ranch setting. Paige and Mark are an exciting match that, at times, mirrors the different locations of the story. I like the tension between the characters and how the story develops. This book was my first read by this author, and I really enjoyed the story. I like that the story read quickly but did not feel lacking in any aspect. I look forward to reading more from this author in the future.

I truly enjoyed this wonderful read and I can’t wait to read more in this fun, heartfelt series. You are instantly drawn into this strongly bonded family. They may well drive each other completely crazy at times but they are ALWAYS there for each other no matter what. That really resonated with me. This first book brings us the story of Kally and Max who have both been hurt by previous relationships and are very unsure that their futures can actually include a romantic relationship. With lots of twists and turns you are kept captivated by their budding relationship as they navigate lifes possibilities. This book also includes a back story involving Kallys Yiayia that draws you in and I hope it continues in the following books because I need to now more about this sassy lady!

Blood & Vengeance (The Casket Girls #2)Blood & Vengeance by A.D. Brazeau
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This book is set two weeks after the first book and delves right into where the previous book ends, so I suggest reading that book first. You can technically read this as a stand alone but it would be better to read in order. I enjoyed the first book immensely so of course I immediately started reading the second book of the series.

This time the main character is Desiree, who is one of the women captured in the first book. After defeating the big bad in the first book, they are rescued by Greer and Theron and brought to what will be their new home.

Realizing that there are other vampires that survived, Theron and Desiree take it upon themselves to hunt them down. Desiree is taken by surprise by a feral vampire and rescued by another Vampire by the name of Jaxon.

Jaxon is not like the other vampires. He hates the hunt and hates feeding on innocent humans. He lets Theron and Desiree in on just that and joins them in the hunt for the others. A woman from Jaxon’s past shows up and puts a damper on their plans.

The three join together to fight while Desiree and Jaxon try to fight their inevitable feelings for each other.

So far I am loving this series and love all of the Casket Girls. They each have their own unique personality and I cannot wait for the next installment!

Our main lead has no idea who or what she is until she becomes an adult, enter a tall handsome male lead to save her from unknown forces and you had me hook, line, and sinker. While I was glad to see us start out on earth I did find it fascinating to look into other worlds from these characters eyes. As far as romance books go this one really knocks it out of the park. While I usually prefer a duel pov this author did a tremendous job keeping my interest with their third person writing style. The cover of the book and synopsis drew me to this wonderful romance right away, and once I started reading it I couldn’t put it down. The character development was perfect, the plot was interesting and sweet, and the overall story was simply perfection. Paige and the Reluctant Artist by Darci Garcia. This was such a good read. Its the story of Paige Lisgon a Art Curator at a fancy Manhattan art gallery. She seems to be on her way to being an up and coming painter. One thing standing in her way is a rancher in Montana who she needs to create some pieces for her gallery. Mark Richards is very happy running his horse ranch, Caramel Ranch in Montana. He sure doesn’t need some city slicker (even if she is beautiful) telling him what he needs to do. When Paige offers him something he can’t refuse she packs up and moves to Montana. Will they be able to work together and both get what they want. Will they end up being able to make a relationship between two total opposites work. Read this fun city girl and country guy romance to find out!

This is the second novel in this series and I cannot even begin to express how good this series is. This story was dark, intense, full of paranormal romance and so much more. Blood & Vengeance (The Casket Girls #2)Blood & Vengeance by A.D. Brazeau
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

After having read the first book in this series and falling in love with the characters I knew I just had to read this one as well. Boy was I right in picking up this book. It was amazing from cover to cover. The story builds nicely off the first book in the series and we meet a new potential couple, as long as the cards fall right.

From book one we know Greer, Theron’s love, is in the underworld and until her return Theron has been keeping busy hunting the other vampires in the city. Desiree, who was one of the casket girls, has trained hard to fight alongside him to eliminate the vampires from New Orleans. In walks Jaxon, one of these vampires, who wants to change. He wants Theron to teach him how to control the bloodlust and survive without draining innocents. As they work as a team to kill off the vampires Desiree and Jaxon start catching feelings towards each other. Can they have the same perfect love story that Greer and Theron have? What happens when someone from Jaxon’s past comes back to have him in her life? Can Jaxon and Desiree overcome the mistress to find their own peace?

This book was amazing if not even better than the first book in this series. I love all the new characters that are introduced and how the author weaves them brilliantly into the story. I love how it builds on the previous series while featuring a different couple’s story. If you haven’t read the first definitely do that and then your second item on your to do list should be to read this book too. If you love paranormal romances with some mystery and intrigue then this is the perfect read for you. Though I would avoid reading it late at night as this could cause you to lose valuable hours of sleep.

Undeniable is book 2 in the Central Florida Stories series. Kurt and Arely are two people that met years ago but nothing came of it. They are now reunited by a danger that Arely is facing. This is action-packed, steamy, and filled with twists. You can read this book as a stand-alone. The characters and story are just as well-written as in the first book. I really enjoyed following Kurt and Arely on these adventures. They are a lovely couple that benefits each other. Another must-read story.

WOW I could not put this book down! I had not read a book by this author before, and I am glad I did because this was one of the best books that I have read in a long time! This book revolves around Paige and Mark. Paige is a curator at an art gallery who has just found her newest client who paints the most magnificent paintings that she has seen in a long time and travels to his home to try and convince him to paint more pieces because she sees the potential. Mark is a man who owns a large estate where he saves horses and leads a semi-normal life kept to himself after suffering a great tragedy when he was younger. When these two collide, SPARKS LITERALLY FLY, and they cannot stay away from one another. I felt as though I was right there with them when I was reading this book! I had to tear myself away from the book so that I could get work done. If you love good wholesome romances, then this is the next great book to read!!

Paige and the Reluctant Artist by Darci Garcia – Review by Jennifer Gordon

Paige and the Reluctant ArtistPaige and the Reluctant Artist by Darci Garcia
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

An enjoyable and engaging contemporary romance which had me happily turning the pages. Paige Liston, is a curator at a posh uptown art gallery, and she believes she’s found the next ‘great phenom painter’. However, the artist, Mark Richards lives in Helena, Montana, meaning she will have to leave behind her ultra modern apartment in Manhattan, in order to convince Mark to create pieces for her gallery. Mark is the owner of Carmel Ranch and he rescues horses, and so is not immediately interested in painting for the gallery, until Paige makes him an offer he can’t refuse.
Although the couple have instant chemistry it’s not until they are spending more time together on the Ranch that their relationship develops, but having to navigate life and their careers it’s not guaranteed they will get a HEA. This was a heartwarming romance with two very likeable and relatable main characters in Paige and Mark. Their instant attraction came across in the narrative, and I liked how their relationship developed throughout the story. The setting came alive through the descriptive narrative and I felt immersed in life on the Montana Ranch.

I enjoyed reading this romance story. This is not my first book by this author but it is one of my favorites by her. One of the things I enjoy about this author is her writing skills and her attention to details that bring her stories to life. Her stories are realistic and make me feel as if I am with the characters. This book is no different. This is a well written story where the past comes crashing into the present and leaves you no place to hide. This is a story that is full of action and romance. It is a hard to put down story that keeps you coming back for more. I enjoyed how the characters were able to pull me into the story. They are connectable, strong and supportive of each other. I enjoyed watching their growth throughout as well. This is a great story that is fun, easy and entertaining to read. I highly recommend this book and this author.

Desiree is one of the Casket Girls of New Orleans, or she was, now it is just a name and thanks to the discoveries made a few weeks previously when she was freed from a trap she knew nothing about, but now, she knows why and that is because of vampires and now she believes that they all must die in order for her to feel safe again. This is why she has been training so that she can become stronger and help those who cannot help themselves, she is not the type to just sit around and hope for the best, so she has convinced Theron to train her so that she can rid New Orleans of the last of the nest which fed off of them, Theron agrees to this and so while they wait for his true love to return from the Underworld, they make plans.

Jaxon is a vampire and was part of the nest associated with the Casket Girls, however, he never could stomach the idea of killing his Girl, or her husband, so he left to try and make some sort of life for himself, however, when he sees Theron and Desiree killing the rest of his nest, he sees a chance to redeem himself and asks to join them in their hunt. Neither Desiree nor Theron truly trust him, but they are willing to have his help, but when they find the rest of the nest, it isn’t only vampires that they find, a figure from Jaxon’s past is there as well, someone he knew only as the Mistress and it freezes him on the spot as the memories of his time with her assault him.

As soon as she disappears, Theron and Desiree demand to know what happened and so they go back to the mansion and Jaxon reveals what he can, this brings up feeling he thought had all but disappeared, including matters of the heart. Theron decides to find out more about the Mistress and in his quest for fact finding discovers that she is a witch and a powerful one at that, so he tries to find out a way to defeat her, in the meantime, Jaxon is having to fight his feelings for Desiree and the attraction he feels building, especially when Desiree herself says they have no future together because of his vampiric nature.

As the days pass and the plan to defeat the Mistress is being hatched, they all realise that her end game is Jaxon, she wants him back at all costs and will do anything to achieve this goal, but will Jaxon be able to hold his own against this formidable opponent and gain the freedom he so truly desires, or will he be denied the one thing which is changing him for the better? I liked that the author used the language of the characters. I had to do some research on the meaning and pronunciation but it added some authenticity to the story that I really liked.

Blood & Ravens (The Casket Girls Series Book 1) by A.D. Brazeau – Review by Santana Hicks

Blood & Ravens (The Casket Girls, #1)Blood & Ravens by A.D. Brazeau
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This book was intriguing from the very beginning. Greer, one of the main characters, is taken forcefully from her home and wakes up on a boat half starved and dirty. The only thing she remembers is a dream of a handsome man who is in the dark not fully seen.

Once docked, Greer finds out that she is a part of a group of women sent to a convent to live their days before an arranged man comes to take them away for marriage. Most women are there willingly. During the night, Greer has another dream about the man she deemed her “Dark Knight”. Coincidentally, another woman had a similar dream with a man visiting her whilst she slept as well.

Suspicion sets in and Greer tries to wake up when she feels the man’s presence once more. Sure enough, he is real. As well as countless other men visiting the other women’s cots. The women who have been having nightly visitors are starting to get sick. Greer finds out that these men are vampires and they have been feeding off of the women making them weaker.

Theron, the man Greer deemed as her Dark Knight, is actually a demon cast out by Hades to live his remaining life as one of the soulless vampires. He was once ruthless and had no remorse. After meeting Greer, all that seemed to change. He is attracted to her somehow which he doesn’t understand. Theron lets Greer into the light of the supernatural beings around her. Theron knows that they cannot be but that doesn’t stop them from trying.

I really enjoyed the book. Greer is a headstrong woman who took her life into her own hands regardless out the outcome.

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Love in the Roses is a historical romance by TL Clark. This book is set in medieval times. Ms. Clark did an amazing job with attention to detail. In this book, she had drama, politics, arranged marriage, and cultural aspects of medieval times. The characters are fully developed and complicated. It was an awesome idea to have a glossary at the end of the book. This assisted me with a few of the concepts a few times. Will the arrange marriage and the culture that goes along with that? I highly recommend this book to find out how everything ends up. Make sure you have time to read the entire book in one sitting.
