Saved by Love (Bellevue Bullies Book 7) by Toni Aleo

Saved by Love is the seventh book in Bellevue Bullies series. This is a wonderfully written story that will definitely have your emotions all over the place. I suggest grabbing some kleenex you will definitely need some. This is a fairly new author to me and holy cow I was expecting to be hooked so quickly. Although this can be read as a standalone I’m definitely going to go check out the other books in this series. This author knocked it out of the park with this one her style of writing and attention to detail along with her creative characters that are relatable and fully developed wow. I wasn’t prepared for the emotional rollercoaster ride this story takes you on but man oh man its totally worth a few tears. I absolutely loved Evan and Callie’s story . He’s struggling with mental health issues and she’s a fierce gymnast who is determined to to help Evan . These two are just amazing together. I don’t want to give to much away. I highly recommend reading this book to find out what happens next. I can’t wait to read more from this Author.

Distant Memories (Nurse Morgan Series Book 2) by Kate MacInnis – Review by Sara Grantham

Distant Memories: A Nurse Morgan Series: Book TwoDistant Memories: A Nurse Morgan Series: Book Two by Kate MacInnis
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This book was written in such a way that you can read it as a standalone! The details and explanations are so perfectly wound into this new story that anyone can pick it up and enjoy the adventure within. For me, it was such a joy to be back with these familiar friends – Gloria, Caleb, Savvy, Elisabeth, Jonathan, and (of course) Morgan. I highly enjoyed the new twists in the story and how Morgan’s abilities are ever-evolving. I did not enjoy one aspect of this book, though – when it ended! I felt like I had breezed through the entire thing, was just getting really into the story, and then BAM! It was over! I need more!! I love a book that leaves me yearning for the next one. I hope there is another installment soon because I need to continue on this journey with Morgan.

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Evan Alder is one of the Alder greats within the hockey world, although Evan is not as confident as his twin brother so decides for his mental health to medically retire from Hockey. With this decision done he then looks at what does he really want. So, when he decides to go to school and become a sports therapist, he has anxiety where this is the right path for him.

When he arrives he is then assigned the RA position in the Hockey house which is giving him anxiety but also he is assigned as the sports therapist to the Gymnastics team, the only problem is he has no clue about the sport, but as time goes on he does both jobs to his best ability but when a certain girl catches his eye, can he keep the job and his love life separate?

Callie has struggled to get where she is and being enrolled into one of the top schools for gymnastics, so when the new term starts in walks someone, she thought she would ever see, Evan Alder. Although Evan has been a fantasy to her for years as her “dad” plays with his twin brother, so she must walk carefully regarding pursuing him, until they see him running and then all bets are off and Callie declares to the girls that he is hers for the taking.

As Evan and Callie get closer can they maintain a relationship or will other factors knock them off course.

This is the first book I have read in this series or by the author and I can confirm that this can be read as a stand-alone book, although it has piqued my interest to read the series from the beginning and the other spin off series to see how the other characters got together.

The two main characters were brilliantly developed, and I like the fact that the main male character struggled with his mental health and issues which normally are portrayed by female characters in books. The chemistry between the two of them charged off the page and was crafted beautifully within the story. I loved the way that Callie’s life starts off rough and with her sister’s sheer grit and determination to get her were she is has given Callie and great role model to follow and then with Nico’s fatherly protection it was lovely to finally see her have love in both a relationship and family. The story was well developed and flowed easily and held my interest until the end.

I look forward to reading more books by this author and hopefully add a few more book boyfriends to my ever-growing list.

Saved by Love (Bellevue Bullies #7)Saved by Love by Toni Aleo
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This book is book seven of the series. It can be read as a standalone. This is the first book I’ve read by this author.

Evan prioritized himself over the sport he loves more than anything. Now retired from the NHL, Evan is going home and he’s going to work on his mental health. Going home leads him to the University of Bellevue and essentially to Callie. Callie knows what it’s like to have a limited number of people on your side. She makes it a point to show others the kind of care that her sister showed her. When she meets Evan, she is determined to be there for him.

I really enjoyed this book. The characters were so relatable. Real people with real problems. I also liked that Evan’s struggle with his mental health and him prioritizing it was shown. People think men have to be all tough all the time and that’s not realistic. I really enjoyed these characters together and now need to read the rest of the series!

Genre – MM, Romance, Paranormal
Page Count – 307

Jace has spent his entire life on the run from the Messengers, celestial beings from another realm who hunt his kind: Watchers, the fallen angels responsible for corrupting humanity … Then he meets Cyrus, the handsome Messenger with an easy smile who finally makes him want to stay in one place. The problem? Jace is the last descendant of the first disgraced Watcher, placing him just one rung below demons on the Messengers’ most-wanted list.

But Cyrus isn’t like other Messengers. He came to Sin City—the center of the angelic conflict—seeking peace, not more war. He doesn’t count on falling for the moody, dark-winged Watcher from the wrong side of town. Nor does he count on learning that his true enemy lurks closer than he ever imagined. As tensions rise between the celestial clans, will love or vengeance rule?

Romeo and Juliet gets a celestial spin (and a happier ending!) in this duology featuring forbidden love, a ride-or-die demon, a supernatural casino heist, bar brawls, and banter. Intended for readers ages 18+ and best enjoyed when read in the following order: Watcher (Book 1), Messenger (Book 2).

Saved by Love is the seventh book in the Bellevue Bullies series by Toni Aleo. How have I not heard o this author before now? OMG, I have been missing out- but not anymore. After getting this little taste I will definitely be going back to read all the books she has already released on her catalogue, as well as keeping an eye out for any new releases.
This is the seventh book in a series, and even though it could be read as a standalone, I get the feeling that it would be an even better reading experience if I’d read the previous books in the series before starting on this one.
This is an emotional new adult sports romance, a bit of a friends to lovers with drama, struggles, challenges, mental health issues, banter, touching scenes, connection, finding yourself/finding purpose again, friendship, support, and also about finding love unexpectedly.
This Evan and Callie’s story. And what a story they have to tell. They are so well developed with their own unique personalities, quirks, flaws, and inner struggles- that made them so realistic, and entirely relatable. I was completely invested in them and the outcome of their story. Their story tugged at my heartstrings. Especially Evan’s struggles with his mental health.
So glad I stumbled on this author- I can’t wait to explore the rest of her work/s.
Happy reading!

Thank you, Toni Aleo!

Saved by Love (Bellevue Bullies Book 7) by Toni Aleo – Review by Tara Johnson Barnes

Saved by Love (Bellevue Bullies #7)Saved by Love by Toni Aleo
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Callie is a girl with a heart of gold. As Bellevue’s star gymnast she is fiercely driven. When she lays eyes on Evan Alder for the first time, she knows that she will do anything to get to know him. As she is watching him and the rest of his team jog past their dorm room many of Callie’s teammates also spot Evan and think he’s dreamy. Callie decides to call dibs on him though because she spotted him first.

What Callie does not see is that Evan Adler is a broken man. Evan has given up his NHL career to focus on his mental health. By his own definition, Evan is a worthless failure unable to live up to great Adler hockey legacy. He has failed himself and let his whole family down. These are the thoughts that Evan cannot drive out of his head, the inner demons that he battles with everyday.

Callie gets her chance to know Evan when she hurts her ankle, and he must tape it up for her. Callie is determined to take a shot at love with Evan. Will Evan ever feel good enough to get past his inner demons? Will Callie’s love and patience be enough?

A beautifully written story about how love can truly conquer all. I loved how the author tackled the issue of mental health and the inner demons that many of us struggle with daily as we doubt our own worth. It shows how even those that seemingly have everything going for them also struggle with the feelings of failure, rejection, and low self worth. I highly recommend!

As far as debut novels go Shannon Nikole knocked it out of the ballpark! I truly felt like I was a citizen of Quimby Grove watching this story unfold before my very eyes! Love with a side of drama, and it was everything I didn’t know I was missing in a novel. While I am now and will forever be drawn to romance, I can’t help but enjoy a good suspense too, the great thing is this has all that and more! I was drawn in from the very start! I can’t wait for more from this author!

Not only is this book sexy, it is full of shocking twists and turns every few chapters. It was thrilling and kept me on the edge of my seat. This is my first time reading this author before but I plan on coming back. This book was fantastic! I would definitely check for triggers though if violence and blood is one for you though.

Suspenseful, dark romance that had me wanting more. Plenty of betrayal, lust and a bit of cat and mouse banter between Sera and Cassius. Sera is a strong female who took me by total surprise… I love that she is a smart chemist and also a deadly assassin. She is all about pleasing her father and the drug empire they are building but something unexpected happens when she meets Cassius, a handsome, smart businessman funding Sera’s product. Sera’s next target is Cassius, but as Cassius continues to get to know Sera and break down her walls will it be to late as Sera decides between love or family?

Fantastic book and wonderful characters. What a story!

Wow! Just wow. This book seriously made me have all the feelings. This book was just fantastically written and beautifully done! Meeting Evan and Callie just makes me want to wrap myself around them and protect them from every bad thing that’s ever happened. Evan walking away from Hockey to preserve his mental health spoke thousands of words to me. Mental health isn’t usually written so well, but this author took it and ran with it and did a phenomenal job. Callie is a head strong, go getter kind of gal. She tries her hardest to be the best and sometimes being the best isn’t all that great. Watching Calle’s and Evans relationship blossom was amazing. It felt like it wasn’t rushed, it was well paced, and came together beautifully. I’m highly recommending this book to my friends because I know they need to read it too and feel all the feelings I felt!

The Lie That BindsThe Lie That Binds by Amy Argent
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Nathan is the golden boy at his school. He is popular and gorgeous, making everyone want him or want to be like him.

Holly is the new girl, a nobody in the eyes of the popular crowd but that doesn’t stop her from noticing Nathan. Even when he is bullying others, she can’t stop thinking about him. After Holly witnesses something, she realizes that there is more to Nathan than what he is portraying.

After Nathan finds out that Holly knows his secret he has been keeping from almost everyone at school, he is terrified that she will out him. To keep her quiet, he befriends her but as time goes on, as does his feelings for Holly.

The synopsis of this book really captured my attention but unfortunately it was completely different than what I expected. The book was alright for what it was. The synopsis implied something much darker. Also for a YA book, it had way too much sexual details. It was too heavy for what I expected for a book in the YA genre.

I loved this story! It was a three part book, so it was like having 3 mini books in 1! I love how they all started and ended in a bookstore, one of my favorite places to be! Everything starts at Leona’s book store where we meet Sadie and Charlie, two singles people trying to making it through the holidays, and then Fiona, a famous author, and Price a traveling musician who after years of being divorced, are reunited at the bookstore and small town. Leona sets up a book signing and ensures Price will be there, is that the nudge they need to make it work? Part 3 Leona meets Jon, a fix it man, who is working on the building her bookstore is in. The thread the winds through all of the stories is a love story about a woman named Ellen who met a man named Charlie and the next day they ran away on a train and got married and their happily ever after resonates through all of these stories. I just loved the writing and I loved how well written the characters were. This was such a sweet story, I haven’t read anything by this author before, but I will be checking out the rest of her books!

Aghhhh! No one does dark paranormal romance like this author! I really enjoyed the first Casket Girl book and this one was written just as well- if not better. The characters storylines were so beautifully written and intertwined so well (not to mention that the characters themselves are written amazingly!).

There are so many paranormal elements like witches, demons, and sparks flying through the air. Blood & Vengeance was so incredibly hard to put down- i don’t think I did more than once (as it was the same Blood & Ravens.) I can’t wait for more from this author!

Evan has returned to school after stepping away from his hockey career to focus on his mental health. (Kudos to the author for tackling this difficult and overlooked subject). He takes a position as a training for the female gymnastics team. This is where he meets Callie. Callie is a gymnast. She is a fierce character that loves those close to her with all she has. Callie has had a crush on Evan for years…and now he’s part of her team’s staff. She knows that she wants to get to know him and be a part of his life.

Their relationship is filled with understanding, support, and a love that most strive for. While coming to terms with his own struggles and finding a way to work on his own mental health, he finds that Callie is in his corner as his biggest supporter. These two melted my heart and I could feel the emotions coming off the page. This series has had many great couples…but these two are probably my favorite!

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This book was amazing from start to finish. The characters are amazing and there is so much depth to them. Plus tackling a hard issue like mental health and for a man to handle it is almost unheard of and yet so realistic and beautifully portrayed.

Evan Adler thought he had it all until it all came crashing down. After medically retiring from the NHL to deal with his mental health issues he moves to his hometown and becomes a physical trainer for the girls gymnastics team. Now this is where Callie enters the picture, as the Universities star gymnast, she fatefully lands in the hands of Evan to tape her ankle. Callie’s fierce love and unending support are the rays of sunshine Evan has needed to clear out his black days. Together they can do anything, even build the future they both envisioned!

I really loved this story of love, heartbreak and challenges to overcome. It is refreshing to break the stigma of male mental health issues and one this author has tackled with superior grace. This is book 7 in the series but they can all be read as single books. I recommend reading them all but if you have to choose then choose this one it is unforgettable!

I wasn’t sure what to expect when I first picked up this novel. This was a new to me author and not a genre I read frequently. I was drawn in by the synopsis and I stayed for a fierce female main character. I can’t recall ever reading a book where the female lead was the assassin and the “role reversal” didn’t disappoint.
This book had a little bit of everything, action, suspense, spice but it also had a lot of depth not only within the storyline but the characters as well, especially Sera.
I would genuinely recommend this book. You’re in for a ride from start to finish.
