Collateral Damage: A Second Chance Mafia Romance (Mafia Elite Book 6)Collateral Damage: A Second Chance Mafia Romance by Amy McKinley
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Welcome back to the Mafia Elite life. This story is about Hailey and the good doctor, Trey. Even though these two have met before and the timing was off, the spark was ignited within them both. And Fate began to work her magic.

I love how “innocent” Trey seems, like he doesn’t notice all of the nurses trying to be next to him or catch his eye. How sweet he is. He wants to save everyone. He understands he can’t but he sure tries to. Even Hailey needs to be saved.

Hailey will do anything to prove to her family she isn’t a waste, to prove she is worthy. She has a crappy family, a mother who doesn’t know she’s there and a step father who is sneaky and slimy. Hailey didn’t know she needed saving until her plan backfires. It seems the good doctor is ready to save the day.

This story should be read in order as it is book 6 and while it can be read as a standalone, reading the other books will give you a better feel for the closeness of the family. I love this series and look forward to the next one.

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Trey, the family doctor and local hospital doctor is front and center in this story. He’s exhausted overworked and has known heartbreak and has no time for love.

That is until he meets Hailey, from an affluent family who doesn’t really fit into the rich prestigious world she tries hard to keep her appearance in until a family secret rocks her to the core.

these two come together so naturally and mesh so well you can’t help but instantly fall in love with their story and you had heard of trey in the other stories but learning about how he ticks is a story you don’t want to miss.

another fantastic stand alone, but all of these books intertwine and you can learn more about all the characters in each story… I’m sure there will be more as there is definitely more for us to learn!

Another hit by one of my favorite authors! I love how in this series she has focused not only on the main members of the mafia but also some of the siblings, which is exactly what she has done in writing about Trey in this book. We met Trey in previous books, but I really enjoyed learning more about him and watching him find love in this book. As always, she has written the story of this couple beautifully, making it easy to see the connection between the two of them from the moment they meet. From what I can see, there isn’t a next book in the series, which makes me sad, so I really hope the series continues!

This is the sixth book of the Mafia Elite series. It Follows Trey and Haileys story and an interesting one at that. With him living two lives one as an amazing sweet doctor and the other as a member of the Mafia which he is not all too fond of since it cost him his first love. Now he has to use those connections to save Hailey from her kidnappers but being who he is, he knows there’s more going on than meets the eye. Will he fight the chemistry between them or give in. You have to read to find out and I highly recommend you do.

Book #6 Collateral Damage

Broken hearted Trey La Rosa, surgeon for the mafia, is afraid to give his heart away since the death of his girlfriend . That is until his path crosses with sexy socialite, Hailey Charmichael. Sparks immediately fly and there is no denying the instant attraction that rocked both of their worlds. Months after their brief encounter, the spark is still alive. Trey learns of Hailey’s kidnapping and assists in helping to locate her. When Trey finds Hailey they determine the motive for the kidnapping is much more elaborate than either one had thought. Vowing to keep her safe, he takes her home (where things REALLY heat up) to keep a close eye on her as they work together to figure out the circumstances surrounding her abduction. As they continue to dig, sparks between them continue to fly!
Fell in love with the characters in this page turning thriller. Couldn’t wait to reach the end to find out if they obtained their “happily ever after”!
Another well written plot, spinning a web of lies and secrets that blow the reader away!

Paranormal, hybrids, passion and fated mates
This was a smorgasbord of steamy delight for fantasy romance fans. This had a little bit of everything all rolled into one. The first part of the book took a little bit to get into, especially the chapters from the brother’s point of view. Then I felt a shift and I was fully vested in the characters and their story, especially Angelina. This is my first book from author and it was written very well. Looking forward to continuing this series.

This series has me so enthralled that I can’t put them down. I’m going to read the next one right now. I would highly suggest you read these books.

Yes!! Another alpha couple and I love it. The Blood oath is the second book in the Mafia Elite series. It was just as good as the first one. I enjoyed reading it. It follows Sofia and Enzo (love that name ever since vampire diaries🤣) on their emotional ride love story. I for one couldn’t put it down, finishing in one day. On to the next book. I now have to read all of them to see what happens with the other characters.

Book #2 Blood Oath
Amy McKinley did it again with book 2 of this intriguing series! Full of page turning drama & suspense that will leave you on the edge of your seat, anxious to see what happens next!

Enzo Vitale and Sofia La Rosa, while touched upon in Book 1, Ms. McKinley made this breathtaking couple the primary focus of book 2 in the series. Enzo & Sofia, grew up in the complex mafia world as best friends all through childhood. It was only natural that the pair would develop a great degree of love for each other as they grew older. Unfortunately, circumstances and an unspoken rule had always kept them apart as lovers. With past secrets brimming at the surface, Sofia finds herself thrown into Enzo’s welcoming arms. Enzo has always considered himself Sofia’s protector and will stop at nothing to keep her safe—even if by being with him, a huge target is painted on her back. Will their love that began in childhood be strong enough to whether the storm, when family secrets resurface and threaten to tear them a part? Fast paced, action packed, steamy thriller engages all the senses.
While Book 1 of this series left me on the edge of my seat, I was shocked that book 2 could compare to or even surpass the romantic suspense and energy found within the first one!

Sweet, clean romance story
This is a story about soul searching for ‘the one’. I enjoyed the writing and the storyline. Bree is an overly conscientious character, that comes across a bit obsessive and selfish at times. This did make her a bit more real. Poor Nate had his work cut out for him. I enjoyed this book and following Bree as she navigates love.

This is the first book I have read by this author and I am very happy to say it definitely won’t be my last. It is so very well written, with wonderful characters and a story line that totally draws you in.
Bree has been so hurt before, that she has built up some very tough, high walls out of the pure need she feels to protect herself. Through this story you will experience all her highs and lows right along with her. It is the depth of feelings that this wonderful author makes you the reader feel right along with her characters that makes her such an amazing author. Do yourself a huge favour and read Bree and Nates story now!

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This was a very enjoyable novel of a woman’s want to meet the man that ticks all her boxes, meets her criteria, and doubts that letting any go will do her any good. Unfortunately, Bree has had her heart broken a few times, and due to such, really has built her walls up and doesn’t want to let just anyone start to break them down. This seems to cause her a great deal of anxiety and self-doubt when it comes to the choices she makes. I can completely relate to her character, having been a single mom for a good time, and trying to figure out the ropes to ensure that I found the man of our dreams. (I did.)

The writing of this author, which allows for the reader to see the doubts as they cross Bree’s mind, is well thought out, and I found it exceptionally difficult to set the book down. I for one, was rooting for Nate from the beginning, though there are doubts cast from all those involved in Bree’s life. I won’t ruin it for anyone, but it does sound like this woman has quite the group to pick from. Very well written, and I very much look forward to reading the remainder of this series to learn more about Chloe, Bree’s best friend, soon.

Bree is definitely attracted to his type, and he seems as close to perfect as a guy could get. Only problem? She’d sworn off dating hot, muscled, athletic types for good.

Wronged by a string of jocks, Bree creates one hard rule: no dating athletes. She also enacts a list of other guidelines to protect her fragile heart. Per the rules, coffee meetups don’t count as dates, lunch doesn’t count as a date, there will be no physical displays of affection until after a real date, and no sex until he commits to an exclusive relationship.

Enter Nate. He’s tall and muscular, has deep blue eyes and dark hair. He’s a perfect clone of the guys that hurt her before. If it walks like a duck, it’s a duck, right?

Enter Steven. She couldn’t have ordered a more perfect package. He’s muscular, not too tall, and focused on his career in education.

When Bree allows herself to give in to her feelings, sparks fly. She’s happier than she ever imagined. But being a couple is about more than just the two of them. Family, religion, location, and money all factor in.

Can they meet in the middle?

Such a damn good read! I loved this one! This author always steps up their game in all they do and write! This amazing book was certainly no different! I was hooked and, the character development was absolutely freaking perfect! I really enjoyed this one in the MC universe the author creates!

What I loved on this one, was to me, it was strikingly different. The characters were full of different things. Not saying all was butterflies or hardships. They felt real things, and they had to be respected for being, well, real! Warf and Raven were awesome. They had their own dynamic sense to them. I really felt emotions for them both. Like really connected in different ways with the two of them and felt so much. As I read, I fell more in love with this book. The character development was defiantly there and the whole overcoming darkness I would say. I loved this book so freaking much! I need to read it again ha-ha.

Amazing writing as always from this amazing author. I enjoy all the books they write. This one was just as amazing as the others. Highly recommend this book and author! Seriously you must not pass it up!

What a surprise this book was! This is not your usual MC book. I found it to be very different from her other books. It was kind of spooky with a touch of the supernatural. I loved it! I have read almost every book from this author and was excited to see that she wrote a new series. In a rush, I began reading and was not disappointed.

Dwarf is used to women passing him by in preference for his taller brothers. He never gave up hope in finding someone for his own. At long last he ran into her, literally. After crashing into Raven on a dark and deserted strip of road, an unexpected adventure begins. This is a well written story with a new set of characters to love. The banter between the brothers is hilarious and will lighten the creepiness of the story. This author finds new and inventive ways to keep her stories unique. This is an amazing book!

This was the best edge-of-the-seat, romantic suspense book I’ve read this month. Selena finds out that she’s in the U.S. illegally. She is trying to do the right thing and go back to Mexico and get the right paperwork. Turns out her life has been a big fat lie. She has been set up for some big trouble and Wyatt, an employee with the state department, just wants to help. Oh my, this could have been ripped straight from the headlines. I caught myself holding my breath at times because the action is that good. You find yourself going “just one more page, I have to know what happens.” The action started with the first page and doesn’t quit until the end. The story is very engaging. There are a few plot twists that keep shock and surprise. The chemistry with Selena and Wyatt is great because it is a slow burn. The characters feel real because they have attitudes that I would expect from those type of people. The descriptions of crime lords and corruption in Mexico seem to fit what we hear. The story is engaging and will keep you wanting more. I want to read more from this author. You need to read this story if you love romantic suspense.

These characters will draw you in right from the beginning. This book was so addictive I read it in only a day. I can’t wait to see who she will write about next.

Kendall Graves has had a crush on her big brother’s best friend ever since she was a teenager. She thinks he is so beautiful and now he is a famous ball player. Kendall is so excited when she finds out she is going to stay with Pete for a week. She wants to see if there is something that she knows she feels. Kendall has fantasied over her brother’s best friend for years, as a awkward teenager who was always in the middle of them she only dare to look from a far, but now grown up she has an opportunity to put that attraction to the test.

Pete’s best friend has asked him if he minds putting up Kendall while she is working in the city, when Pete agrees he is unaware that Kendall has turned into a sexy, smart woman who knows what she wants. So, when she puts a proposal on the table will he give in and break the “Bro-code” rules or will a little bit of fun with no strings fly under the radar.

Although as both get to know each other as adults’ feelings start clouding the fun and can both just walk away when the week is over.

This is the first book I have read by this author, and I thoroughly enjoyed the light-hearted, easy read story. The two main characters are well suited to each other and the way they interact is refreshing and just heart-warming. I liked how the story builds along the way and the dilemmas both have when realise the feelings are deeper than they both initially thought. It is great that this is part of the series and hope we get to see them in the next book.

I can’t wait to read the book in this series.

However Hailey is no stranger, and when he becomes involved striking a deal with her it turns the pages quickly. Hailey has always had a crush on Trey and now together under 1 roof it opens both their eyes to the love they could share. The Queen of Hearts,

She played her cards,

While poisoning the wine away;

And fed it to every King of Hearts

Who enjoyed chasing

Their queens like prey.

Dwarf.

I’m used to women overlooking me in preference to my taller and admittedly more dashing brothers. Even if I see her first, one glance at them, and they can easily steal her away.

There’s no point in hanging onto someone who doesn’t want to stay, but for once in my life I’d like to find a woman of my own who wants only me.

Have to admit I didn’t hope out my hope of finding her, and definitely didn’t expect it to be one who literally swept my wheels from under me.

Not that I knew it at first. My downed bike made me too angry, until I, too, began to experience her fear.

For the first time in my life I discovered there’s more to this world than can be explained away with logic and reason.

Do I believe in ghosts?

I didn’t. Until I met Raven.

I can never get enough of this series or the power this wonderful author brings to life in their writing as I read and fall in love with these characters. The book was great ride from start to finish. I very much enjoyed this one as the rest. If anything, this one has become my favorite in the series for sure!

The writing was amazing and the build up for Karen and her story was just perfect in every which way. I swooned, laugh, and even wanted to cry at moments. All in all, the book brought on emptions that were welcome, and as always this series touches my heart in the most purest way. The romance was beautiful and breathtaking. I really loved Karen as a written character. It was fun getting to know her during my visit to Parker Lake this time haha. Loved this book from start to finish with all my heart and soul!

Wonderful book, amazing author, and a must read series for sure! All of these go hand in hand and make something wonderful spring to life! Highly recommends this book, its defiantly a must read!
