The beauty of the cover caught my eye and the synopsis caught my full attention, I could not stop reading this book once I started! I read the ebook copy and I have also ordered a copy for my bookshelf.

It is evident that the Author has put a lot of time, effort and attention to detail into every. single. word. This book is beautifully written in so many ways; engaging plot line, great character development and amazingly vivid world building. You will be transported to another time, wishing for a glass of wine while you read.

We are given an authentic and culturally historic read mixed with a slow-burn romance that is both enjoyable and informative. Wine making is a new concept for me and the Author wrote in a way that you can easily understand words and phrases without getting lost in the lingo.

I love the way the Author had the main characters meet without the knowledge of their business roles to each other. I have to add that Julia is a woman way before her time! She shows great strength and resilience against the constant obstacles in her way.

Add this to the Happily Ever After bookshelf as a stand-alone, or continue with the series. I highly recommend this read and I look forward to what comes next!

The True Purpose of Vines, is a great mixture of romance and a little bit of history. This was definitely a great read, and I truly enjoyed reading this book. This book really gave me all the feels, it tugged at my heart strings as I read, and I really felt a lot for the characters the story circled around. I found the characters grew into something nice as the story went on, and the suspense, it was very real, and the power this book possessed was very genuine!

This was a new author for me. Certainly will not be my last book to read by them. This book literally swallowed me whole. And would nit provide a separation until I had finished it. The writing was amazing, as I said I was held until the end. There was a lot of action going on from things being dangerous and life threatening, and not really knowing how things would turn out. The book was very un-predictable. I really felt for the two characters Wyatt and Selena. Especially Selena. Her past made her who she was today, and who she would become. The moments these two shared were very intimate and sweet in a special way. It was nice to see they had each other’s backs as well as their character growth. The book was a great read and one I truly enjoyed, it was a book that really put everything in the line, and succeeded!

Amazing author and truly amazing writing! The story came together very nicely. I found there was really no plot holes and the story flowed at a good pace as well as held your interest to the fullest. I am glad I got to experience this book. I loved it truly! I highly recommend this read as it is for sure a must read!

Another great book in the series and this by far is my favorite. Following Heart after he is voted out as a Ronan, he chooses to travel his late wife’s road trip. Along the way he starts talking to Mark, one of the investigators for his and Crystals accident, where it becomes evident, she was meant to be in his life. This book brings one surprise after another while bringing hope and love. Fantastic!

I absolutely love this series by Amy McKinley and (I know I’ve said it before) but this was the best yet! I love the intertwining of all of the characters and their lives and how we never really “lose” any characters once their book is done because they will always show up in another one, one way or another. I love McKinley’s character building and her plot development. She really takes her time building and sculpting her characters, individually and as a couple. The way McKinley moves her plot throughout the novel is just *chef’s kiss*. I don’t feel like the plot is ever stagnant or that McKinley rushes anything. It’s really a perfect pace.
Trey has to be my favorite of the Mafia guys. He’s just so sweet and wholesome (not my typical type) and has a really good heart. While he doesn’t play a full-time role in the Five Families, his role as physician/surgeon is just as integral. He also doesn’t flaunt his connections around, but uses them wisely and discretely. He is still grieving the loss of his girlfriend and has push Hailey away previously. But when she’s in trouble and Trey is asked to help, he can’t help feeling drawn to her once again.
Hailey is no stranger to tragedy and grief. She lost her sister and her father in a tragic accident. Hailey’s mother has remarried and pushed Hailey to the side leaving Hailey to deal with everything on her own. Hailey has been pining after Trey ever since they first met at a gala and they danced the night away. She’s friends with Sofia, Trey’s sister, but has never had the courage to ask her to set them up.
Once Hailey and Trey meet again (cue second chance) the passion and sparks fly. The sexual tension is there; however, it’s pretty PG throughout the book…but hey…we can use our imaginations, right? There are twists and turns you won’t see coming and your heart may break a time or two, but it’s definitely worth it.
I cannot wait for the next (and final?) book in this series to come out. While you can read each one as a standalone, I really recommend reading in order to get the most out of it. You really get a sense of the characters and the family dynamics. But either way…JUST READ THEM!!

I devoured this book in one sitting and I absolutely need the second already! This was the first book I’ve picked up from this author and I can’t wait to get my hands on more.

Apollo is the son of Zeus who is battling with being a half-mortal, half-deity. What could be wrong or difficult about ascending to be a God? With his constant running from real connections by only indulging in fleeting vices, happiness evades him. Once his father gives him the ultimatum and he delays his ascension, he finds himself even more torn as he finds genuine friendships.

I feel like that author did such a great job developing the characters. You could feel the chemistry flowing throughout the entire story. This wonderful book caught me by surprise multiple times and I loved every moment of it. I never felt bored or guessed what would happen at any point which is a pretty big deal for me.

This fresh twist on Greek myth is a must read, you won’t be disappointed!

  • I’m a big fan of greek mythology, so the minute I saw familiar names in the synopsis I knew I needed to read the book. I’m also a strong believer in “Love is Love” so when I saw that this was a m/m love story I was intrigued, since I don’t come across many of these.
    I really enjoyed the characters and the roles they played. I loved how the relationship between Apollo & Hyacinth blossomed into something so beautiful after harshly judging each other without knowing each other.
    I loved the relationship between the king and his children. You don’t see this kind of relationship between royal parents and their children in many stories. The relationships between the siblings were beautiful as well.
    I can’t say enough about this story. I loved everything about it. The author did an amazing job. I am super excited to read book 2.View all my reviews

For anyone who loves a good Greek myth, this retelling of the Apollo and Prince Hyacinth is one you have to read. Also, if you love a good enemies to friends romance, this will hit the spot. Once I picked this up, I could not put it down. Thank goodness it’s only the first book in the series. The characters are amazing and how their stories intertwine will keep you hooked and wanting more. This author has a wonderful knack for spinning intrigue and suspense into an already known story. You’re not going to want to pass this one up.

I love a good historical romance…they are among my favorite genre! This was a bit of a learning curve for me on this one though because I do not drink. I was lost on a lot of the wine references but I did learn a few things about how wine is made and found it interesting.

This book is set in Portugal during the 1800’s and is centered around a plague that attacked vineyards during that time. Mrs. Julia Costa is one of those vineyard owners, after being left a widow and a single mother. Women were not looked highly upon as business owners during this time so she faced increased scrutiny due to her standing in life, as well as her occupation.

Griffin Maxwell is an Englishman who is really good at keeping books. When his business partner suggests that he checks out this particular vineyard, Griffin obliges. The findings he uncovers will be the end of someone in this story though!

Julia and Griffin eventually meet and the sparks pretty much start flying right away, however very subdued. I love how the author allowed the character development to take place before the romance really heated up. There’s a few extra players involved too…so scandalous! 😉 In the end, can different cultures comingle and create something more beautiful than the vines themselves or will dedication to culture win out?

I’m excited to read the next book in this series, although I already don’t like a particular character and the way he behaved in this one. We’ll see if he will have any redeeming qualities about him!

A great historical romance based in Portugal in 1870. Julia is a winemaker determined to save the vineyards legacy. Griffin is a British businessman who comes and tries investigate the vineyards production and try to help take over from a dealing made by her late husband.
Both Julia and Griffin have secrets despite the immediate attraction and all reasons they attempted to avoid it!
I had a hard time initially getting into the book, but so glad that I stuck with it! The story and the romance was very well written with an exception of some characters not having much development/introduced too quickly.
I love how the chapters started with a wine quote!

Julia is a Portuguese wine maker trying to keep her family business afloat. When she crosses paths with Englishman Griffin, the cultural differences between the two cause them to butt heads, despite the unwanted physical attraction between them. When they realize they need to work together for the benefit of the wine, neither knows what to expect. This is a brilliant and vibrant story of enemies becoming friends, overcoming cultural differences, and feminine power. I enjoyed Julia’s character, strong willed and independent with a lot of responsibility, but learning to be vulnerable when needed. I relate so much to her character. I look forward to reading more from this series in the future.

A lovely, engaging read! The author does a wonderful job bringing this story to life with wonderful descriptions, leading to vivid imagery. It is evident the author was well researched to bring this historical romance to life.

The author also does a wonderful job in her creation of the characters. Griffin and Julia are each enjoyable in their own way and you truly get a sense of who they are and find yourself rooting for them throughout the book. The author also does a wonderful job creating tension and chemistry within their relationship.

Pick this one up if you’re looking for an enjoyable enemies-to-lovers with a beau frigio historical setting!

I have found that the world of Fae is not only magical, it also some romance mixed in. I enjoyed the way the world was described and how it was introduced. The author did a good job of describing the world and the characters within it. The story has a way of pulling you in slowly and keeping your attention until the end. It is the perfect blend of fantasy, romance, mystery, and action. Ember and Gravyn, the story’s main characters had a connection from the beginning and it starts off rocky, but then quickly turns into a different kind of relationship. There were many different plot twists, but that just enhances where the story goes.

I have been following this series since the beginning, and while I am dreading that we are running out of mafia men. I know it will be coming to an end soon, and this saddens me! While I have my “favorite” characters there has not been one bad book in this series, I have loved every single one of them. This book follows the story of Trey La Rosa and Hailey Carmichael. I have wanted to read Trey’s story from the beginning, and I was not disappointed. Hailey comes from an affluent family and feels used by most people because of it. She has also had a hard time after losing her father and sister in a car accident years earlier. Trey is an amazing surgeon who tries to maintain the mafia life and gets experience working in surgery so that he is ready if his family ever needs him. You won’t want to miss this book, especially if you have been following this series.

This book is action packed from the get go! Every page has me wanting more! The main character, Nadia, is a fireball and I just love her personality! She really is a “Phoenix” as they call her. Her Hera Force team is also an interesting bunch! They each are different in their own way but the group fits together so well.
The book starts off in Cancun, Mexico, where Mitch Edwards, an ex-SAS operative is hiding out and not wanting to see anyone from his past. When in walks Nadia, her beautiful and cunning self. Oh my! The author always writes such heart wrenching and heartwarming books. This is another winner in the audio files. The narrators again do a terrific job of presenting Hear and Marc’s story. I was on the edge of my seat at time’s. Heart did such a good job staying straight edged when she gave her updates and surprised when he found that Drummer paved the way for him to get through the time on the road. Heart really was going through a very tough time. Marc tried to help him and to also solve this murder. The whole dang department seemed on the take. She gets an A from me for perseverance.. They had challenges to face and face them they did.. These two sure seemed meant to be. Strong emotions, heart felt pain made this story so raw and vulnerable. The narrators brought it out and I give it a bit 5 stars.

Everything to Me by Lauren Fraser is book 2 in the Playing for Keeps Series. I haven’t read the first book, and fortunately, it can be read as a complete standalone!

It is one of my favorite genres, a best friend’s sister sports romance. Their chemistry gave me butterflies, and their romance gave me all the feels. One thing that was quite different to me, but in a very good way, was that Fraser wasted no time in these two acting on their feelings for one another, of course, more lust in the beginning but it doesn’t take long for the feelings to develop.

I loved both Kendall and Pete. Kendall wasn’t just beautiful, but she was also independent and intelligent. She knows what she wants both professionally and personally. However, there was a softer side to her. She was very vulnerable in love for Pete, and Fraser did a great job of showing that.

While Pete had the typical reputation with the ladies, he really was a softie. He used his talent and wealth to help others in any way he could. He valued his friendships, especially with Kendall’s brother, and it was so much fun watching him fall in love with Kendall.

While this is a genre that can be overdone, Fraser made it fresh and witty. For instance, there was steam and spice, but that wasn’t the gist of the story. She focused more on the emotional attachment between Kendall and Pete rather than it just being about the sex. It was a perfect combination of the two. I’m so glad I had the opportunity to discover this new author. I’m looking forward to reading more from her.

Book 6 and still going strong
Mafia mayhem continues with book 6 of the Mafia Elite series. I absolutely adore this series. With strong alpha males and equally strong females, this whole series has gripped me from the start. In this book we get Trey’s story. We have met him in book 2 as Sophia’s brother. He has been mentioned a few other times and along with his brother Marco. This family, being mafia, has several people gunning for them. Trey has his hands full but once he meets Hailey, all bets are off. The author brings a brilliant twist to this second chance romance. A must read – but please read from book 1, you won’t regret it.

Trey is a surgeon and in the mafia. Naturally, he’s the guy for the job when Hailey gets abducted. As they twist and turn through a botched abduction turned vengeance scheme they must decide how much they’re willing to risk for each other.

Collateral Damage was a great continuation of the La Rosa family series. Less action than others, but great character development. It’s easy to fall in love with Trey. He may be bad bay mafia, but he’s a good guy at the core. Hailey needs something to go right in her life. Now is their time to shine.

First of all – I would just like Amy McKinley to put a new book out every week. I LOVE her books!! I cannot say enough good things about this series and I was so excited to see it continue after Ruthless Heir.

This installment centers on the family surgeon – Trey and he is every bit the juicy character we have seen snippets of in previous stories. More about his past is revealed that explains his protective nature – and you cannot help but love him the more for it. Hailey is a great character herself too. She is smart and methodical with a healthy dose of obstinance.

I love that the book still goes back to the family at its core – as a critical aspect of the Italian Mafia theme. The book is steamy in all the best ways, hard to put down, and really gives an example of how the author creates multi-facets for her characters. I will keep immersing myself in this world as long as she is willing to share it with us!!

I jumped for joy when I saw this next book in the Mafia Elite series and made sure to snatch it up immediately. Amy is one of my fav authors and there are not many books of hers that I have not read. I love her writing and she never lets me down. It is dark and gripping, intense and enthralling, suspenseful and thrilling, steamy and exciting. I really enjoy the unpredictability of not knowing what comes next, of always being on my toes and it is never what I expect.

Still reeling from a loss so deep Trey was not in a good place when they crossed paths. Now she is in danger. He knows he can’t leave her there; he has to help her but in doing so puts him in danger to.

Make sure you start this series from the beginning now: you won’t be disappointed.

I was really looking forward to reading this book and as of right now, I would call it my favorite in the series. I was really looking forward to read more about Trey, I feel like he is such a multidimensional character with all he’s been through and I have a soft spot for him. I feel like the medical/surgeon aspect has not been done in many (or at least any I’ve read) Mafia novels. As a nurse myself, I’m always drawn to plots or characters involving the medical field. As much as I loved Trey, I feel that Hailey is just as strong and relatable as a character. The book (or series) is a must read. Never short of excitement, strong characters and a stronger plot. I’d strongly recommend this novel.

The Mafia Elite has become one of my all time favourite series, and this book does not disappoint. I was so excited for Trey’s story and the author gave me everything I wanted and more! Romance, passion, drama, sizzle, action and suspense. This series is a MUST read! Make sure to start with book one in the series.

This was a sexy as sin book that I couldn’t put down. The physical scenes were extremely descriptive and downright naughty but in the best way imaginable. It kind of makes other books look tame.

Angelina, a pretty successful artist, is leading her life in the most normal way possible when she is kidnapped at night walking home to her apartment. This is the start of a very long tailspin for her as she comes to the realization that demons are real and her erotic dreams may border reality more than she could envision. Luca and Salvatore, hybrid angels and vampires, never expect to find their mate let alone save her from a demon. As the attraction between them grows and Angelina is thrust more into this world of good vs. evil she faces challenges that seem too big for her to handle. Can they form a powerful trio to stop the one demon hellbent on destroying them? Or will Amgelina have to face the very real death of not only herself but the two mates that she is deeply in love with?

This book had me going through all the feels as I envisioned the scenes playing out like a movie in my head. I cried, literal tears, was angry, and even laughed at the antics of Luca, Salvatorre, and Angelina. If you like super descriptive, heady, adult themed content books with a fantasy aspect and menage tre thrown in then this is a must read book. I will wait with baited breath for a possible sequel to come out to figure out what happens next for this trio and hopefully some cliffhangers get resolved!

I love this book!!! I am rereading this book and will be reading book 2 as well. I loved learning more about Apollo and how he can relate to us “humans” throughout the book. I feel like Apollo wanted to do things on his own and yet his father had other plans. He wanted him to take his place on Mt. Olympus but Apollo (like most young adults) want to find their own way to ascend into their right place. I really related to Apollo throughout this book. I can’t wait to read Book 2.

I really enjoyed this story. This is book 2 in the series however it can be read as a standalone and is still really enjoyable. This book is definately one of favourite so far this year. It had a mixed of all the elements I love in a story. It is action packed with action, danger, a little romance, Paranormal and twists and turns you dont see coming. No one is who they seem and that is what keeps the reader guessing.
Both our main character have secrets that need to come our in the open if they are to be saved. There are foces working against them that they dont realise and when Avery’s life is in danger she needs to work with her neighbour Luys to solve the danger. Can they stop this killer before its too late? What secrets is Luys hiding and will they put Avery’s life in even more danger then it already started off in?
This story is a gripping read which has you turning pages so fast to uncover the secrets and solve the mystery of who attacked Avery and why.
