I was so messed up when this book hit my kindle. I couldn’t wait to read it yet didn’t want to start it because I knew it was the end of another amazing series by this author. I literally love all of this author’s books, and it might just be because I just finished this that I’m saying this is my favorite. I knew the ongoing story playing out in all these books was going to end in a really big way and I was right. This part though had me feeling every emotion possible. I held my breath more than once and fell in love with Lazarus and Sasha. Oz had already won my heart more than once and I couldn’t wait for him to get his story. This was amazing, reconnecting with others from the previous books. Oz’s mum was perfect in this book!

The twists and turns will have you pulling your hair out, the suspense, danger and I could literally feel the determination of these characters to finally put an end to it all.

This was a perfect ending to an amazing series, one that I can’t wait to read again in the future back to back. Start from book 1, seriously..you need every story leading up to this one to get the full effect of what is happening. They are all quick reads mainly because once you pick each one up you won’t want to put it down and the next thing you know you’re finished. This author is amazing and I will always pick up any book she writes.

Sad that it’s over! Can’t wait to see what comes next!

Embracing Jared (Thrill of the Chase, #3) by Anna Paige
Genre – Contemporary Romance, Steamy Romance

The life of a rockstar must look so perfect…from the outside.
Being rhythm guitarist for Thrill of the Chase allowed me to travel the world.
Allowed me to make incredible music with my best friends.
Friends who had become my brothers.
There was nowhere I couldn’t go, nothing I couldn’t do.
Except help the most important person in my life.
My father.
The one thing that was out of my reach was the only thing in the world I wanted.
All I could do now was honor my promise to him, even if it killed me to do it.
And in honoring that promise, certain things became non-negotiable.
When one of those hard and fast rules was broken, I was ready for war.
Ready to go to bat for the only thing I loved other than my band.
Ready to send the enemy packing in order to protect what was mine.
What I wasn’t ready for…was her.

Anna Paige is the author of the Broken series, the Thrill of the Chase series, and several sexy standalones including Off Script, Holding Out for You, and Tailspin (A Driven World Novel.)

She lives in a rural town in North Carolina where the only activity is the rhythmic color change of the solitary stoplight and a very real threat of being carried away by mosquitoes. The only alternative to terminal boredom is writing, making life interesting if only on the page.

Anna is happily married, with one amazing son and a rescue pup who seems to be part boxer, part goat, and part dingo–but he sure is fun. When she’s not writing, she’s trying to make a dent in her TBR pile. Given that she’s constantly adding new titles to the list, the chances of her ever finishing are slim.

And she’s completely fine with that.

Born in Darkness (Mafia Elite Book 3) by Amy McKinley

I’m literally speechless. I don’t even know where to begin with my review for this wonderfully written story. I’ve been a fan of this author since the very first book I read of hers. With every new book and even every new series I become an even bigger fan. This one is by far my favorite yet. I freaking loved everything about this book. If you haven’t started this series or of she’s a new to you author go grab the first book in this series and I guarantee by the end you’ll also be a fan. I’ve been patiently waiting for this book and holy cow it didn’t disappoint that’s for sure. This story is packed with all things that make up a fantastic mafia romance. There’s lots of secrets, action, throw in a bit of drama and some violence plus so much more. I was at times on the edge of my seat trying to figure everything out. Whew, this is Stefano and Emiliana’s story. He’s biding his time till he’s king and wants her to be by his side. She wants the one man she fell in love with but she can’t have him. Oh these two are off the charts. What will happen when their relationship not only grows but attracts more enemies? Is he enough to keep her safe ? I highly recommend reading this book to find out what happens next. I can’t wait for the next book in this series . I also recommend reading the first two books in this series if you haven’t already.

A Cold Creek Christmas (Reigning Hearts, Book 5) by KG Fletcher – Review by Emily McCoy

A Cold Creek Christmas (Reigning Hearts, #5)A Cold Creek Christmas by K.G. Fletcher
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

So sweet and perfect for this time of year!
Amber is not a fan of the holiday season, she lets her workers do the bare minimum in her bar as far as decorations and her house is the only one on the block without any as well. She doesn’t care for it and is ready to end the year with a big bash to celebrate at her bar. Gio on the other hand is excited to take over his Nonna’s business so she can retire. He soon finds himself wanting to get to know more about this spit fire of a bar owner and why she doesn’t like Christmas. Will Amber let her guard down to Gio and share her secret? Can she put it all aside and start over with this beautiful family that came crashing into her life?
I fell in love with this little town so much. Cold creek just sounds beautiful and I would most certainly be on my way there if I could! I highly recommend this to anyone who loves a sweet and steamy Christmas story full of romance, cute family moments and overcoming your past for a better future!

Oh my heart.

This was so wonderful. I am definitely a sucker for a Christmas romance. Though, this was so much more. This was a family puzzle that was missing a piece. Amber hated Christmas and everything it stood for. It was such a wonderful journey to watch that change in her heart. Giovanni is a single dad to a sweet girl Talia. They show amber the real magic of christmas and help her heal in more than one way. This was such a heartfelt beautifully written story!! Such a great Christmas read!!

Rock Me To The Top (Gracefall: Vicious Love Tour Book One)Rock Me To The Top by Victoria Zak

  • I just loved this book. It is a story about two friends who have secretly loved each other over the last decade or so. One of these friends is a rock and roll princess and the other a newly famous member of a rock and roll band. They never let their friendship become more due to the past both of them hold. However, times are changing and both of them feel it is also time for a change, but what does that mean for their friendship? The reason I loved this story so much is for the realistic aspect it held in the sequence of events. There are ups, downs, tragedies, etc. Some time in our life we have all had to make a decision on whether friendship is worth it, worth it to be more, and what it would look like if all went wrong. I enjoyed the characters, their banter, their friendship, and the love they possess while supporting each other’s dreams. The way they carried themselves through the love story is a good lesson for all – support each other’s dreams, lift each other up, and be patient.View all my reviews

Born in Darkness (Mafia Elite, #3)Born in Darkness by Amy McKinley
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I have read the previous two books in the Mafia Elite series but Born in Darkness has been my favorite storyline thus far. I really enjoyed how the main characters of Stefano and Emiliana intertwined from childhood into adulthood. Stefano has been Emiliana’s savior for such a long time, it’s no wonder they are bound to each other in unexplainable ways. This book also answered some questions that were lingering from the previous ones all while keeping us in suspense on other questions that continue to arise. This book just draws you in and doesn’t let go and leads you wanting more of the mafia families. Thankfully, this series is not complete yet and I will get more to the characters stories.

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This is the first-ever book I have picked up by this author but she did such an amazing job hooking me in from the first page. I felt like she was writing this book about me LOL. I was able to relate so much to Amber and her displeasure at Christmas time. There are so many details that the author used that I felt like I was reading about my own life. Amber, living in a small river town in the Hudson Valley of New York. I grew up and still live in a small river town in the Hudson Valley region of New York. The author just did an amazing job at being relatable to all the characters.
Amber is a Christmas season Grinch, who was abandoned by her parents. At the age of 18, she traveled through New York and settled in Cold Creek working in a pub. When the owner is set to retire, he sells the pub to Amber at a price she can’t turn down. After many years of being single Amber is finally accepting her single status when Giovanni enters the small town. The grandson of the beloved baker who is known as Mama to most of the town, there is an instant attraction between Amber and Gio. could this be the year Amber starts falling in love with Christmas? This is definitely a must-read book!!

As the third book in the mafia elite series this one quickly became a favorite. It’s action packed right from the start and there are so many twists and turns that when you figure everything out you’ll be as shell shocked as the characters are! While these all could be stand alone books following along with the characters through each one builds upon the storyline and allows you to understand the events happening and why they are happening. Plus each book has been amazing and I’m already anxiously awaiting the next one.

This book is Emiliana and Stefano’s story. Emiliana is trying to come to terms with her past abduction which just won’t quite leave her alone. While Stefano is doing his best to keep her safe especially from his father who threatens her often to keep Stefano in line. The bosses are working to uncover the rat while protecting their love ones. As new information is uncovered the path it leads to is unexpected. Can they uncover the rat while protecting their loved ones? What happens when the rat is very close to home? Can the mafia princesses make it out unscathed? This is a must read series that will have you on the edge of your seat. Can you uncover the rat before the mafia bosses can?

I absolutely loved everything about this book from the Cover to the wonderfully written story. This author continues to amaze me with her attention to detail and her characters are well developed and fun, easy to relate to. I’ve been in a funky mood lately and this helped to bring me out. From the moment I started reading I couldn’t put it down until I finished which I did in one afternoon. This is a Contemporary Romance about Amber and Giovanni, she’s the owner of a pub in the small town of Cold Creek. He’s a newly single dad after a not so pleasant divorce. He loves the holidays and is struggling to juggle work and his personal life. Amber wants a family of her own but due to very painful memories of her childhood she just can’t. What will happen when a handsome Italian chef finds his way into the bar? These two make my heart happy and sad at the same time. The attraction is there but can he show her what true family and holiday spirit looks like? You guys I highly recommend reading this book. I absolutely love this author and can’t wait to see what she brings us next.

I legit cried! A Cold Creek Christmas brought happy tears to my eyes. I’m an empath so that’s not a difficult task, however it also means that I identified with the characters on a personal level. I’ve recently been reading a lot of random books in series, and I can say I want to go back and read books 1-4 because I guarantee the author will be pulling at my heartstrings with those as well! Though this is Book 5 in the Reigning Hearts series it stands extremely strong as a stand-alone novel as well!
Amber, emotionally broken beyond repair or at least so she thinks. Till an unexpected “snowstorm” named Giovanni came into her life, with his daughter Talia. Amber dislikes Christmas, for reasons I won’t disclose because I want you to read it. lol
Giovanni seems to make it his mission to turn that around for her, not expecting to fall in love in the process.
Now is your chance to take a gander and see what happens between Amber and Giovanni, as well as any difficulties and obstacles that may present themselves along the way. While you’re doing that I’m going to go back and read book 1!

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Amber is not a fan of Christmas (and that’s putting it lightly). She is known as the town Grinch because she just dislikes it all. Her ill-feelings stem from her childhood and she just does not want anything to do with the holidays.

Gio is a single dad that loves the holidays. He has just moved to town when he makes his way into Amber’s bar…and he is determined to help her find the joy of Christmas again after he hears about her past. However, Amber is not so easy to win over. Can Gio and his daughter, Talia, change mind? Or is Amber destined to hate the holidays forever?

This is such a quick read that I devoured it in one sitting. I don’t want to give a lot away because it is a great book to jump into without any spoilers! I have enjoyed past books from this author and this one is probably one of my favorites. The characters are lovable, and it is the perfect time of year to be reading a story like this!

This was a great 5 star read.
Boy the description wasn’t kidding when it said that Amber hates Christmas. You definitely find that out within the first few pages. She has a pub in a small town that celebrates Christmas every year. She opens up her ovens to a good friend that needed to finish her gingerbread house. This is where Amber meets Giovanni, and lets just say the sparks flew instantly.

Giovanni has moved to town with his daughter to take over his grandmother’s business. When he meets Amber he is instantly attracted to her. When his grandmother shares Amber’s story he can’t help but want to open his heart and home up to her.

Will they get a Christmas miracle and a HEA?

Overall I really enjoyed this read, my emotions were all over the place. The author does a great job of pulling you in with her writing. All of the characters added a great element to the story. If you’re looking for a great holiday romance I highly suggest this book. 1-click and get started today.

Amber has a bar in town and she dislikes everything about Christmas. Her house is the only house on her block with no Christmas lights at all.
Gio, has come to town to help his nonna and to take over so she can retire. The minute he walks into Amber’s bar to pick something up for Nonna, he immediately is attracted to Amber. They end up having drinks together for the good part of the night.
Gio and Amber grow a bit closer and he tries to figure her out. Why does she dislike Christmas so much. She has a secret no one knows. Will Gio find out the truth? Also what about Gio’s secret? Not really a secret…more like he hasn’t had a chance to tell Amber about a huge part of his life.
I thought this book was perfectly written and a sweet holiday quickie for the readers.

There has not been a single book by this author that did not hit me right in the feels. I love everything about this book from cover to cover. We start out meeting Amber, our neighborhood Grinch, and don’t get a ton of backstory right away. (Which is perfect!) It’s the build-up that hooks you! Mama needs help with her gingerbread and, naturally, has chosen Ms. Anti-Christmas herself to assist with this. But Mama apparently has a grandson that is EVERYTHING Amber (and all of us) needed. Giovanni is handsome, sweet, and a complete gentleman from their first interaction down to their last. While he fails to tell Amber right away about his daughter and his rough past with her mother, everything is revealed the way it was meant to be. I made it halfway through the book before I needed the tissues. Everything from the half point forward tugs on your heartstrings in such a good way. I love the interaction between them and the revelations of both of their pasts. It was such a great story, I cannot wait for more Christmas stories this season!

Red’s Peril Part 2: The Prez’s Old Lady (Satan’s Devils MC Vegas Chapter #2) by Manda Mellett – Review by Tara Johnson Barnes

Red's Peril Part 2: The Prez's Old Lady (Satan's Devils MC Vegas #2)Red’s Peril Part 2: The Prez’s Old Lady by Manda Mellett
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

In the prequel to this book, Red’s Peril: Part 1, we were introduced to the characters of Red and Cheryl. They had met completely by chance on one of Red’s stops along his journey to finding himself. Cheryl was a waitress in a diner that Red stopped at to have a bite to eat and the two of them felt an immediate attraction to each other. Acting on impulse, Cheryl left everything behind to ride off into the proverbial sunset with Red on his motorbike. When it wasn’t everything that she had hoped it to be, Cheryl became spooked and cut their journey short.

Neither saw the other again until by pure chance they ran into each other in Vegas. Even though 15 years had passed neither had stopped thinking about the other and wondering what could have been. Both Red and Cheryl have attempted to move on with their lives over the years but have regrets for leaving things the way that they did all those years ago. With no way of contacting each other through the years they had no idea of what could have been or if things could have worked between them.

Now that Red has popped back into Cheryl’s life, he’s not the man she was expecting. He’s now president of a Satan Devil’s MC and she knows that isn’t the life that she wants. She’s always been an upstanding citizen and never broken the rules and has no intention of starting now. The problem is that they have both lived with regrets for the past 15 years over what could have been. Cheryl deeply regrets the decision that she made about walking away and wonders if there’s any way that they can be together. Cheryl must decide If it’s worth it or if she should just give up all hope of him being the man that she wants him to be and just move on.

I fell in love with Red in the first book and loved everything that he stood for. Most would not find a redhead sexy but somehow Red was not only desirable but also a nice guy that would protect those that he loved at all costs. The first book left us on a cliffhanger as we wondered what was going to become of Red and Cheryl. Part 2 picked up right where the first book left off and immediately drew you back into the storyline.

I have loved everything that I have read by this author, and she never fails to disappoint. The characters are well-rounded, and you instantly fall in love with them. In book one we learned that neither Red, nor Cheryl, were perfect or flawless which makes them more believable as characters. In this book we are also introduced to Zeke who is a non-binary character. I fell in love with their character and admired their strength. The storyline is amazing and leaves you wanting to read right to the very end. This book is a must read!

These characters pulled me in from the very beginning and pulled on my heartstrings so much I felt like I was in the middle of the story. Full of Christmas cheer, romance, and fantastic characters this Christmas romance was perfect. But Amber and Giovanni really made this story perfect. While Amber is beautiful, smart, and wonderful she really just doesn’t like Christmas, while Giovanni is a handsome single dad. What happens when they both get bitten by the Christmas magic and look for a chance at romance? Will they find their happy ending in each other? Neve Keane is anxious to return to her job as Psychotherapist at the hospital after being stabbed by a patient. After weeks off work for healing and recovery both mentally and physically, she feels that she’s ready to return to work. She is unprepared when instead of a quiet office, she gets mobbed by a group of people on her first day back. She stands helpless in the hallway as they surround her chanting her name and telling her that they need her to help them stop the Apocalypse. After her recent stabbing, Neve is rattled by this turn of events and not sure how to react. She is still suffering from the side effects of the stabbing and the reaction from this group of people has her reliving the memory of her attack. She’s visibly shaken but does not want to lead on that she is frightened because her coworkers might feel that she is not ready to return to work and may try to make her go home. She does not want to go back home and finds it better to be at work where she can hopefully keep her mind busy and not be so bored.

As it turns out, the leader of the crowd turns out to be one of Neve’s patients, so she is familiar with him. He is also a patient of her friend and co-worker Con. Neither Con nor Neve have seen a violent side to the patient, and both have a good rapport with him. Neve feels it necessary to hear her patient out to get a better understanding of the situation at hand and work towards a possible solution. After explaining his visions to her, Neve agrees to help him against her better judgment. After she hears what he has to say she can’t deny that there must be something more to it. If nothing else, she intends to just find out one way or the other. What Neve does not expect to happen is to find a secret plot that involves government officials that goes all the way up to the White House. Now Neve and Con are fighting for their lives as they attempt to stop the end of the world from happening.

This book was very well written and had a storyline that kept me reading to find out what happened next. It moved at a good pace and had a story that involved crime, corruption, evil and a bit of romance all in one. I was curious how far up the chain things went and who all was involved. Was there anyone Neve and Con could trust? Would anyone believe them when they told them what deadly secrets and sinister plots they had uncovered? Would Neve and Con would be successful or would evil win out in the end?

The characters are the true story makers, people I would have loved to have known. Let’s not forget the attraction between Lexi and Xavier. I knew as soon as I saw that K.G Fletcher had written a Christmas romance, that it would be wonderful- and she didn’t let me down. I would love to see this made into a movie- it’s such a sweet, swoony, and steamy story that made my little heart go pitter-pat!
I love everything about the Christmas season- but my favorite part is being able to binge Christmas books and movies- and this book has zipped to the top of the list as one of my firm favourites. Finding out that it is the fifth book in the Reigning Hearts series was just icing on the cake for me.
This is everything the blurb promised it to be- a warm, fuzzy, steamy, heartfelt Holiday Romance, with a touch of Christmas magic.
Happy reading!

Thank you, K.G. Fletcher!

Dead Sound (Things Unseen Series Book1) by Anise Eden – Review by Melissa Collins

Dead Sound (Things Unseen, #1)Dead Sound by Anise Eden
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I love post-apocalyptic stories like the next person but this is it on a whole new level. And the romance factor is always a plus. Can’t wait to read the next book!
